Welcome to One Gospel, bringing you the full truth of God's Word. Clearly explained. Together with our host, Johann Tuit, we'll unpack scripture to understand what's written and grow as a disciple of Christ. Ready to take notes? Let's open the Bible.
SPEAKER_01Hi there, and welcome to today's episode of One Gospel. I am your host, Jilon Toot, and as always, I am excited to share the Word of God with you. So I've started this teaching called In Christ. And man, I've been through a lot of good stuff and it really blessed me personally. Always when I share the word of God, you know, it builds me up and empowers me. And so I've been going through a few verses in Ephesians 1. Uh I came to verse 3. I'm not gonna cover the whole book of Ephesians because it's not a study about Ephesians, but it's a study about who we are in Christ Jesus, what that means to be in Christ. And you know, I don't know how long and how many episodes are we gonna share on it, but man, it's powerful stuff, and I believe it's really important for each and every Christian, for each and every believer and that has placed his faith in Christ Jesus, you know, to know these truths because it will give us the sure foundation and it will let us know, you know, who we are and what that means for us, what kind of implementations it has for us when we know that we are that when we identify ourselves with Christ Jesus. That we not only identify ourselves with the life that we now have in Christ Jesus, but that we also identify ourselves, you know, with his death and his resurrection. Man, that's powerful. And I don't even want to go in there now. I'm sure I'm gonna go in there, you know, somewhere around you know, one of these episodes. But at the moment I am going through the spiritual blessings that we that he has blessed us with in Christ Jesus, you know, the spiritual blessings in heavenly places. And so, you know, we we have taught on you know how we are now saints in Christ Jesus, we are holy now in Christ Jesus, and that we now are, you know, um we are the faithful, we are the believers, and because of that we have the grace and the peace of God in our lives and what that really means. And then because of the fact that we are, you know, uh his children, he has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places. Now, one of the blessings was that he predestined us and chose us and he has accepted us in the beloved in Christ Jesus. He choose us before the foundations of the world to become, you know, our father, and we would become his sons and his daughters. And so 1 John 3 1 is talking about it that we are called the children of God. 2 Corinthians 6 18 says that he shall be our father and we will be his sons and his daughters, you know, and that you know uh the other spiritual blessing is that he, you know, bought us with his precious blood, that we are not uh have been set free with corruptible things like silver of gold, but with the precious blood of Jesus, 1 Peter 1:18 and 19. And so we have going, we have been going through all these scriptures, you know, that show us, you know, who we are, what we have, and how important it is that we understand this. And so today I'm gonna continue where I left off, you know, with the spiritual blessings and hope to cover some more of those spiritual blessings that we now have received in Christ Jesus and what that means for our lives. And so thank you, Father God, for this teaching and I pray it will be a blessing for those who hear in the name of Jesus. Amen. Amen. And so I stuck I stuck in I got stuck in Galatians 4 before I ended this previous episode. So let me just read it again and pick it up there. It says in Ephesians 4, verse 4, but when the fullness of the time had come, God has sent forth his son, born of a woman, born under the law. Now, man, this is a very interesting point because he says here over the fullness of times, and you know, I just realized that here it says the same thing that in Ephesians 1, verse 7, it says, Well, let's read from verse 6 actually. It says, To the praise of the glory of his grace by which he has made us accepted in the beloved. So I'm accepted by the grace of God. Amen. In him we have redemption. So in Christ I have the redemption through what? Through his blood. And I've spoken on that, I've taught on that. The forgiveness of sins, you know, it's been blotted out, it's been wiped away, no more sin nature. According to the riches of his grace. And so he'd done that because his grace is so rich, you know, that Paul even says, I pray that you might understand what the height and the depth is, you know, of the inheritance of the saints, you know, this grace, this unmerited favor that he has bestowed upon us as his children. It's mind-blowing. It goes so far, wide, and deep that you hardly can comprehend the grace of God and how he is able to do that. Because, man, how many times, you know, we have messed it up in our lives, but you know, where sin abounds, his grace abounds even more. That doesn't say that we need to sin more so that grace may abound more. No, we have the grace to not sin. Amen. I will get to that also somewhere in one of these episodes. But I'm telling you, man, it's the grace of God that makes me want to be a better person, be a better man, a better husband, a better father, you know, better child, you know, wants me make make me a better servant. It's the grace of God that gives me the power, that empowers me to say no to my flesh, to say no to my natural senses, to say no to sin, to say no to the way of this world. Now, does it does can I always does it always work well? It works always, but you know, we're not always walking it because of circumstances, or you know, maybe you didn't pay attention, or maybe you were just uh you had a weak moment in your flesh, or you know, whatever the reason was, you know, but we have the grace to counter that in the name of Jesus. And so, but his grace is so rich, you know, we don't deserve it. That's why it's unmerited favor, but he just keeps, you know, flowing that grace through our lives. Man, it's so beautiful. Anyway, he made that grace abound to us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure which he purposed in himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times, there is the same word, fullness of the times, he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth in him. Again. So in the fullness of times, God, you know, wanted to gather together again. That's how I read it in my Dutch Bible and in some translations, to gather together again both the things, all things that are in Christ Jesus, all things in Christ Jesus, so get it all together in one, that which is in heaven and that which is on earth. All that, bring it all together in Christ Jesus. So, because Christ came to restore that what was lost, and that was the oneness and unity with God, that was already before. We had oneness and unity with God, but then the fall came, and after the fall, everything was broken. And so then Jesus came in the fullness of the time to restore that. He made everything one again in him. You know, that's the name of our foundation, the one in him foundation, because everything is one in him. If it's not in him, then it's not one. Amen. And so here it says that he in the fullness of the time had sent forth his son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive the adoption of sons, so that we might become one again in Christ Jesus. We one in him, he one in us, and we are one with the Father, and the Father is one with us, and we are one with each other as one body, and Christ is the head. We all are one in Christ Jesus, that is a spiritual blessing, that you can become a part of the one in Christ Jesus. Man, that's beautiful. And then he says, To redeem, so that's to set us free from those who are under the law, under condemnation, under sin, and we received the adoption of sons. And because you now are sons, because that's a fact, one of the spiritual blessings that when you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior is that you become a son of God, because you now are a son, it's not like maybe, you know, uh maybe God one day will accept me as his child. No, you are his son, because that's what it says. Because you are his sons. Verse 6. God has sent forth the spirit of his son into your hearts, crying out, Abba, Father. And so you only say that when you are a son. If he's not your father, if you are not his son, why would you say Abba Father? But you have now received the spirit of sonship, no longer a spirit of an orphan, no longer a spirit of a slave, but you have now the spirit of a of sonship. And because you have the spirit of sonship, because you now are a son or a daughter of the living God, you call out Abba Father. Man, that's powerful. Therefore, because that is true, there is no shadow of a doubt, there is no question about it, therefore, you are no longer a slave, but a son. You are no longer a slave. Just say that for a moment to yourself. And I'm no longer a slave. I am no slave of nicotine, I'm no slave of alcohol, I'm no slave of lust or pride or, you know, lust of the eyes or the lust of the flesh. I am no longer a slave of the things of this world, I am no longer a slave of sin. I am no longer a slave of Satan, I am no longer a slave of the law, I am no longer a slave of condemnation, I am no longer a slave of my own thoughts that contradict the word of God, I am no longer a slave. Because he who the Son sets free will be free indeed, and he has set me free, so I am free indeed. But be be for you to be free and have that freedom manifest in your life, you need to know the word of the truth, you need to know the Bible, you need to know the word of God. Because he says, You shall, if you know, if you are really my disciples, you remain in my word and you shall know the truth, and then the truth shall make you free. So, how will I experience all those spiritual blessings? How will I experience all those truths that God has given me, imputed me into my account because of the grace of Jesus Christ? It is by knowing the word of God and renewing my mind with the word of God. So if I know what the word of God says, then I know what that spiritual blessing is. When I know what that spiritual blessing is and I believe it and I act on it in faith, then that spiritual blessing will become manifest in my life. Man, it's a mouthful. I know I go all everywhere, but I'm sure you can follow me in Jesus' name. Amen. I am no longer, because I am a son of God, I am no longer a slave, I am a son. And if I am a son, then I'm also an heir of God and a joint heir with Christ Jesus. Man, I'm now a spiritual blessing. The Ephesians 1:3 spiritual blessings that we are teaching on, you know, one of the spiritual blessings is that I am now I am an heir of the kingdom of God. I am an heir of the kingdom of God. I am no longer a slave of the God of this world, I am an heir of the kingdom of God. And Galatians 3.29 says this. Galatians 3.29. We're gonna get some things through in Galatians. In Galatians 3.29, he says, and if you are Christ's, I am Christ, I belong to him. He belongs to me, and I belong to him. I I belong to him. He bought me with his blood, and I want to be with him. I want to serve him, I want to sit at his feet, I want to be with him. He is my elder brother, but he is all all that and so much more, you know, because man, he's my God, he's my king, he's my magist, he's my lord, he's my savior, he's my redeemer, he's my healer, my provider, he's my protection, he's my he's the love of my life. He is the love of my life, man. Jesus is so good. And if you are Christ, man, how amazing is it for you just to say that you are his. That you can say, I'm his. I am his. Man, this is it is mind-blowing. I don't I cannot show you what's going on in my heart and in my mind at the moment, you know. I just see God, you know, that you know, Jesus presents his bride to the Father, you know, like it were prostitutes, you know, sinners, you know, or tax collectors, you know, and or bandits, you know, it was one big mess, man. The criminal at the cross, you know, all those people, you know, just he presented his bride. This is my bride, you know, and God said, Take her, marry her. That's my God, man. That's my king, you know. He has accepted me in the beloved, just the way that I am. He accepted me in the beloved, man. I don't care who you are, I don't care what the color is of your skin, I don't care what your background is, what your culture is, where you come from, I don't know what you believe about yourself, how lost you are in false identities and false cultures and all that stuff. God accepts you in the beloved just as you are, and then his love and his goodness will show you the you know, his truth about you, and what he says about you, and how he sees you, and that will become your true identity, and then you will start to manifest and live the life that he has attended for you, and what he has for you is is a numerous bigger and better than you can ever imagine for yourself or other people can imagine for you. I'm telling you, man, his love is amazing, you know. If you are Christ, I pray that you can say that, then you are Abram's seed and heirs according to the promise. According to the promise that God made to Abraham, I am now also an heir. I am an heir, and an heir is entitled to an inheritance. Because if if I would be an heir and there wouldn't be an inheritance, then what kind of heir would I be? But I'm an heir that is entitled to an inheritance, and my inheritance also is among all many other things, my inheritance, all the promises of God, as many as they are, there. Yes, and amen in Christ Jesus. This is one part of my inheritance to be accepted and in the beloved, to be re to be forgiven, you know, to become holy, pure, and blameless, to be righteous before him. That's all part of the inheritance as well. You know, and there's so much more, you know, blessed with all spiritual blessings, blessings, blessed with the blessing of Abraham, you know, he became poor so that I might be rich. Man, we get to all that stuff. I'm getting ahead of myself, but I'm telling you, man, I already received all that, you know, because I am Christ's, because I am an heir of the kingdom of God, I am an heir of God and joint heir with Christ Jesus. And so one of these parts of this inheritance is is my inheritance is is the blessing of Abraham. In Galatians 3 9, he says, so then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. You see, are you of faith? Did you place your faith in the the the sacrifice of Jesus Christ? Did you put your faith in him that he died for you and that he paid for your sins and then he rose again on the third day? That he is the Son of God? Did you put your faith in him instead of your own dead works and your own performances and laws and all that stuff? Did you put your faith in him? Then if you are of faith, because we are saved by grace through faith, which is not of yourself, it is of God, not of works, so that nobody would boast. Ephesians 2, verse 8. So if you received him by faith, and you are of faith, then you are blessed with blessing Abraham, with believing Abraham. Abraham believed, and you put your faith, so you believed. That's why you are a believer, that's why you are the faithful in Christ Jesus, that's why you are a saint, and that's why grace and peace are for you. Amen. Hallelujah. Man, that's so beautiful. So it says in verse 14, he says that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, and that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Man, the blessing of Abraham come upon the Gentiles. The blessing of Abraham is has come upon me, and the blessing of Abraham has come upon you. Now, his blessing not only you know promises us, you know, the spirit through faith. His blessing also promises us no lack but abundance. It promises us multiplicate multiplic multiplication and favor. That's what it promises us, the blessing of Abraham, because he says, I will bless you, and and you know, and you shall be a blessing to others, you know, and and you know, all your descendants will be blessed in you, all families are blessed in you, it says in some translations. And if you if I look at Abraham, you know, Abraham was very prosperous. I mean, not just prosperous, he was very prosperous, and even his son also uh you know became very prosperous. And so, you know, if Abraham was very prosperous and I am blessed with the same blessing, then I also should be very prosperous, because I am blessed with the same blessing. If I if I look at at Abraham, you know, he was in each and every aspect of his life, he was very prosperous. He was he had he was rich in uh in possession, he was rich in cattle, he was rich in gold and in silver, he was rich in you know um in servants, you know, he was rich, you know, with his amazing wife Sarah, you know, and he was rich because God gave him uh uh how you say that? Uh God gave him, you know, from his seed, he gave him the son of the promise, you know, and so you know the blessing that Abram has been blessed with, that blessing has come upon me in Christ Jesus. That's part of the spiritual blessing in heavenly places that I now have received in Christ Jesus, and that blessing that was on Abram's life that he was prosperous, that he was protected, that he was well. I mean, he was old, you know, and he was still good in his eyesight. Man, I need to see that blessing become manifest in my eyes also, because if he had good eyesight and I'm blessed with his blessing, then I should have good eyesight, amen. I do have good eyesight for far away, but I am being under attack, you know, for reading, because I can read these small letters that they put in the Bible, you know, without a magnifying glass that calls glasses, you know. So, but you know, and that's okay because you know I know that the word of God is true, and every man is a liar. So I just, you know, I'm gonna see that manifest in my life because I am healed and I am blessed with the blessing of Abraham. See, I don't need to see it to believe it. I don't need to see it manifest in order for me to that it is true. I know it's true 100%. There's no doubt about it. So the problem is not with God, the problem is not in his word, the problem is with me somewhere, something. And one day I all found out what that is, you know, and then those glasses are gone also in Jesus' name. But in the meantime, I'm good enough, I'm loved, I'm blessed, I'm prosperous, I'm well, you know, I'm good, God loves me. I love God, you know, I'm his, I'm under the blood, you know, I'm a saint, I'm faithful in Christ Jesus, I'm blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places, I'm blessed going in, I'm blessed going out in the city, in the land. He made me the head and not the tail without glasses or with glasses. It doesn't make a difference to me. Amen. Hallelujah. And so, you know, don't get you know upset and don't start to, you know, um get into all kinds of philosophies and and uh ideas in your mind, you know, that are not coming from God, you know, to try to reason why this and why this and why that. You know, God is a man that shouldn't that God is not a man that he should lie. All men are liars, but God can't lie. If he said it, then it is so. I have what God says I have, I can do what God says that I can do, and I am who God says that I am, and He is He tells the truth, He is the truth, amen. And so that is true. Now, whether I'm gonna see it or not gonna see it, manifest or not manifest in my life, you know, matter whether I walk in all of His promises or just in 80% of them, God's word is still true, and God is still true, and every man is still a liar. Amen. So you really get to get your you know your heart and your mind straight on that, because otherwise you will get confused and you will get disappointed, and that's exactly what the devil wants. And so, but Abram was very rich in possessions and cattle, gold and silver and his servants, and God promised him descendants as grains, as sand of the sea and stars in the heaven, and it happened. You know, the whole redemption plan was continued in and through him, you know, as he as he received, you know, his son, you know, from uh, you know, the son of the promise. And you know, um then you know this this this blessing continued, you know, in all those people that would cause Jesus finally to come in the fullness of times, you know, in the flesh. And so he had a very important part to play in that. And so if he, you know, um was blessed by God, and in him all families are blessed, and I am now in him because I am in Christ Jesus, so that the blessing of Abraham comes upon me, then I should also walk in everything that Abraham walks in. I should have a lot of possessions, a lot of cattle, a lot of gold, a lot of silver. I should be blessed in every each and every way of my life. You know, and you know, not walking in it or not see it become manifest doesn't do anything off on the word of God because the word of God is still true, amen. And so you can you can uh believe and apply and walk and think and talk as it is so because it is so, you know, and we don't walk by sight, we walk by faith. Amen. And so I can say honestly, I can say I am blessed with the blessing of Abraham and everything that Abraham walked in concerning the blessing, I also walk in. And if I don't see it manifest in my life yet, that's got nothing to do with if I am blessed or not blessed. I am blessed because God says I am. It's just my process, you know, the way that I walk with the Lord, you know, and my intimacy, the more I get to know him, the more I get to understand, the more my faith, you know, in his word and his truth, you know, will be built up, the more I will start to act on it, the more I will start to apply it in my life, you know, the more, the more it becomes reality for me, and the more it will become manifest in my life. You know, it's a process, you know, like a seed that has been sown into your heart. First it dies, you know, then it roots, then it comes up, and then you got the blade, the air, and the full grain in the air. It's a process. It doesn't go from, you know, seed done, you know. No, it will happen when you start to walk in it, feed it, you know, hold on to it, believe it, and put your faith in it. But in the meantime, I am already blessed. I am already from the seed of Abraham, I am already in Christ Jesus blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places. I am, and you are also. So stop whoever you are, you know, judging yourself, condemning yourself, let doubt and worry and anxiety get into your minds because you don't see all those things manifest in your life which are already true, or you you know they're somewhere true, but you don't feel it, or you don't experience it completely in your life. Don't let your feelings overthrow the truth of Christ, you know, the truth of God, but overthrow with the truth of God, you know, your feelings and the lies, amen. That get the lie out and the truth in, amen. And so, and in the meantime, you are good enough, and in the meantime, you are well loved, and God is well pleased with you because you are his beloved son or daughter in whom he is well pleased, and nobody can change that, and not even you. Amen. Yeah, that's beautiful, man. Anyway, I was preaching to myself, that was really amazing. So, and again, I don't try to get the blessing of Abraham, I don't stretch out to receive something that I already have. I already have the blessing of Abraham, I am blessed with the blessing of Abraham in Christ Jesus, because that's part of the spiritual blessings in heavenly places. That's what we just read, you know, that I am blessed, those who are faith are blessed with believing Abraham. I am blessed, and that here it says, you say, okay, you're blessed just like Amor was blessed. Yes, no, I also have his blessing because that the blessing of Abraham, the blessing of Abraham, may come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus. The blessing of Abraham. His blessing is now my blessing. His blessing is my blessing, and everything that comes with it is mine in Christ Jesus. I believe it, I walk it, I receive it. Man, I've I see a lot of the blessing manifest in my life. I can I can testify on many things, but I see a lot of the blessing of Abraham manifest in my life, a lot of it, and I'm gonna see all of it in Jesus' mighty name. Amen. So I am blessed, and so because I believe and I've put my faith in Christ Jesus, I am now a lawful heir of the kingdom of God, a lawful heir of the blessing of Abraham, and now I also may expect and believe and had faith to see each and every aspect of that become manifest in my life in my life. Amen. And so there's a lot to share on, you know, but again, my time is up, and so I want to continue in the next episode about the spiritual blessings in heavenly places that we have received now in Christ Jesus, you know, and um this series in Christ, man. It's already has been a blessing to me, and I also hope and believe it's it has been a blessing to you already. So let your your comments or your testimonies, you know, in this link below, leave them for us, and I really uh want to hear from you. All right, hope to see you in the next episode. God bless you, and I love you. Bye-bye.
