In this powerful and transparent episode, Beverly Taylor Wells shares what it truly means to walk in obedience when God is ordering your steps, even when you don’t fully understand where He’s leading you.

There are seasons in life where your movement looks different. Your decisions don’t make sense to everyone. Your peace confuses people. And your healing speaks louder than words. What you may not realize is… people are watching.

They’re watching how you move after heartbreak.
They’re watching how you respond after disappointment.
They’re watching how you continue to trust God, even when the path isn’t clear.

In this episode, Beverly opens up about her personal journey of healing, surrender, and forgiveness, and how God has been faithfully directing her steps through every season. She reminds us that when God is leading, you don’t have to explain; you just have to walk.

This episode will encourage you to:
 • Trust God’s direction, even when it’s unfamiliar
 • Walk boldly in your healing and growth
 • Release the need for validation from others
 • Stay aligned with God’s purpose for your life and your sons

 Key Scripture:
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord…” – Psalm 37:23

Hello, and welcome back to the Mom of Sons podcast, Faith Conversations, a space where motherhood and faith meet as we raise our sons to love God and grow into men of faith and integrity. I'm your host, Beverly Taylor Wells, creator of Mom of Sons. And today's podcast episode is when God is ordering your steps and others are watching. I just want to say I'm very glad that you pushed that play button and that you were tuned in today. So today's episode is a little more personal and a little more reflective. Just kind of me having a conversation with you, moms, just sharing an experience that I had here recently. So let's get into it. I had a conversation a couple of days ago with a minister friend of mine, and they said some things that really stayed with me. They said, I've been watching your growth over the past couple of years, and you have grown a lot, Bev. And I can see where God is taking mom of sons. This ministry is going to go international. And then they said something else. People are watching you, Bev. They're watching how you move, how you handle things. They know some of your life story, some of the things you've been through. So they are trying to figure out how you are moving the way that you are. So I really, it has never entered my head that people are paying any attention to me or what I'm doing or how I'm moving. So it was really surprising to me, very surprising to me. So my response to them was it's nothing but God. It's nothing but God. Because the truth is, if people really knew the full story, my full life story, if they knew what I've walked through, the failed marriages, the healing physically and emotionally, the rebuilding, they would automatically understand and know that this is not something I could have done on my own or do on my own. Through this assignment of mom of sons that God has given me, He has healed my heart in areas I didn't even realize still needed healing. And one of the biggest parts of the healing has been the biggest part has been forgiveness. Not because it was easy or life was fair, but because God required it. And finally release a lot of years of pain, anger, hurt, embarrassment, feeling less than, overlooked, and invisible. And because of that, I was able to finally move forward in my life when I laid it all down at the altar and left it there. Do I have days when I have to remind myself I'm not going back? I'm not picking it back up. Not going back to that old mindset, that the old anger, the old unforgiveness, the old feeling less than. I'm not going back to it. I absolutely have days that I have to remind myself and talk to myself that I'm not going back. But I'm determined to walk free. Determined to walk free. Let me tell you this, moms. When you get a taste of what it feels like to walk free, to be seen by God, to be accepted by Him, to feel His love, you want that. You want more of that. And that will make you determined to never go back, to never pick up the old junk, the old mindset, the unforgiveness. When you get a taste of that beautiful feeling of being free in Christ, that's it. That makes you determined. Psalms 37 and 23 says the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. Everything I'm doing in my life right now, the way I move, the decisions I make, it's not just me. It's God ordering my steps. Through this assignment of mom of sons, there have been things that I've had to learn, things that I didn't know anything about doing on my computer, um, just business-wise, just all kinds of things that I had no experience with at all. Not at all. And the times when I was getting frustrated, I could just hear the Holy Spirit. It's okay. Take your time, take your time, you're gonna figure it out. You're gonna figure it out, you're gonna get it. I'm right here, you're gonna get it. God was right there, and He blessed me to figure things out and to get things done that I never thought, never thought I would be doing. Never thought I would be doing this podcast. Never thought I would be writing in my blog continuously like I'm supposed to. Never thought I would write a devotional series. Not one book before. And then God even blessed the fifth book to come along, searching for love, which is tied into mom of sons, because it's about how you have to be healed and free, and how through becoming a mother, God showed me what unconditional love was. It's all tied in together. I tell my boys all the time: God is the greatest chess player ever, his moves are unmatched, his strategies are unmatched. I could just shout, but we're on this podcast, so I'ma I'ma keep it calm. But man, when you think about how awesome God is, and man, just how powerful He is. It just blows my mind and it just makes my spirit just ah want to jump up. Man, let me focus, moms. Let me focus. So we were talking about how there's things with this assignment that He has given me that I've had to learn and do that I knew nothing about, no experience. So that brings me to this point, mom, that when God gives you an assignment, He also gives you the grace, the skills, and the tools to walk it out. And he's right there. Right there. When my friend said mom of sons is going international, I received that. I receive it. I I receive it because from the beginning, when God first gave me this assignment and the vision of mom of sons, and he started putting it together and instructing me on how he wanted things and um what he wanted the blog used for, and how he wanted it used, and he started bringing the topics. He was so strategic and so precise in how he wanted Mom of Sons structured. I knew deep down inside that this was something very special, very special, and very important to the Lord, very important to the Lord, and you know it's something how God just has everything just work together, how everything is kind of pieced together. I just heard a prophet speaking this past week about how 2026 is the year of reset. Now, I'm not trying to say that you know, the world, God is about to reset the world because I I know that we're in the last hours, and I know that things have to come forth that's written in the word of God. But I do believe God is resetting some things to give an opportunity, so his message to me makes all the sense, all the sense. So he recently told me that it is never too early for a mother to introduce her son to his son. Did you hear what I said, moms? God told me it is never too early for a mom to introduce her son to his son. How powerful is that? So as we go along with this, you know, God is steady showing me things about mom of sons as he's steady implementing things and putting things together. So now I can see the order, the devotionals, how he structured them, how they're titled, how they go by seasons, seasons, seasons is in the word of God all over the place. Seasons. So the first devotional, the early years, the planting season. So that's moms, when we're carrying these baby boys in our womb, and we're praying over them, and we're speaking life over them, and we're speaking affirmations over them, and once they enter the world, and we're we're hugging them, and we're kissing them, and we're talking softly to them, all those are actions of love, and God is love. So then we are telling baby boy, Jesus loves you, and we're reading the Bible, the children's Bible stories, and we're hugging, we're steady hugging and kissing our sons, and we're showing love, we're planting seeds of faith, we're introducing our sons to God and to his son. Every prayer, every action of love, every word of love, every word of scripture, all of it is planting seeds of faith into our little guy's heart and soul. That just that just does something to my spirit. So from the very beginning, very beginning, it matters. The prayers matter, the affirmations matter. What you let come out of your mouth matters, mom. You've got to be so careful what you say and what you speak over your son's life and your life. So again, when my friend said mom of sons is going international, I totally receive that. Because this assignment, this project, this is God's baby. And there are moms all over this world that he wants to get this message, to get his message that it is never too early to introduce your son to my son. That is a message he wants moms all over the world to receive. And it's it's going to go outside of my little town, outside of my county. God has big plans for mom of sons. This was never just about me. This is about mothers, sons, faith, healing, legacy. This is about raising kingdom men, which was God's intention from the beginning. And let me say this, moms. I've just got to say this. When God begins to elevate you, people will watch. Some will be inspired, some will be curious, some will support, some will not, some may understand, but your answer, your response doesn't change, it's nothing but God. So let me talk to you, mom to mom. If God is calling you forward, but your past is still holding you, let him heal you, let him restore you, let God help you forgive. Because what he has for you requires a freed heart. And when you begin to walk in obedience, you'll look up one day and realize God has been ordering your steps all along. And when he's ordering your steps, trust him. Even when you don't fully understand the path, he will guide you. And he is preparing you for everything he has called you to do. It's nothing but God. Isaiah 30 and 21 says, Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, This is the way. Walk in it. Now, moms, you know I pray and go to the throne on every podcast, and I'm gonna always do that because this is God's podcast. So wherever you are, if you can bow your head or close your eyes, if you're driving, you know, we understand we want you to be safe, but we're gonna go to the throne. So everybody, just settle your heart. Heavenly Father, we come before you today with grateful hearts. Thanking you for your presence in every season of our lives. Father, we thank you that you are a God who orders our steps even when we do not fully understand the path we're walking. Lord, lift up every woman listening today. You know her story, you know what she has walked through, and you know the places in her heart that still need healing. Father, I ask that you begin to heal every hidden place. Heal the pain, the disappointment, and the wounds that may still be lingering. Give her the strength, Lord, to forgive, not because it is easy, but because you have called her to be free. Father, help her to release what is behind her so she can walk fully into what you have ahead. Lord, order her steps, guide her decisions, direct her path, and give her clarity in every season. When she feels uncertain, remind her that you are with her. When she feels weary, remind her that your grace is sufficient. And when she feels alone, God, remind her that you see her and you are walking with her. Strengthen her faith, Lord, and give her the courage to move forward in obedience. Even when others are watching, even when she doesn't have all the answers, help her to trust that it is you who is guiding her and leading her. Lord, we thank you that you take every part of our story and use it for your purpose. And we trust that every step we take is being directed by you. In Jesus' name. Amen.
