Interview with Joy Werner
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
A great voice can turn heads, but it can’t carry your soul. We sit down with worship pastor and Christian music artist Joy Werner to talk about the difference between sounding good and leading people into the presence of Jesus, and why authentic worship has to be formed in private long before it’s expressed in public. Joy shares how her calling started as a shy teenager, how God used ministry family roots and hard transitions to shape her, and what it means to be the same person off stage that you are on stage.
We also get real about the identity traps that come with gifting. Joy opens up about seasons where recognition for her voice tried to become her identity, and why it actually grieves her when people celebrate talent but miss an encounter with God. From leading worship in front of thousands to helping her parents build a church that began with ten people in a garage, she explains how hidden seasons build humility, character, and a shepherd’s heart. If you’re a worship leader, pastor, creative, or church volunteer, these insights hit right where real ministry is made.
The conversation moves into healing and obedience through the power of testimony. Joy explains how years of journaling God’s voice became the foundation for her devotional book, Joy In The Journey, built around scripture, reflection, and daily growth with Jesus. We close with a clear, simple invitation to choose Jesus, practical encouragement to start reading the Bible in Romans and the Gospels, and why church community matters even when people have hurt you. If this encouraged you, share it with a friend, subscribe, and leave a review so more listeners can find the show.
Welcome And Guest Introduction
SPEAKER_00God bless you and thank you for tuning in to Blossoms of My Life Radio. Once again, we have an amazing guest that I'm super excited to be able to introduce to you. Some of you might have already heard her voice from the things that I've seen that she's done, but she is a creative arts pastor and she's developing Christian music, a developing Christian music artist. The heart of her writings stemmed from her personal journeys of walking through hope, deferred grief, finding true life found in Jesus, and being renewed by his love. In a specific season full of doubt, insecurity, and feelings of abandonment, little did she know that God was beginning to write a story for others, to hear messages of surrender, heartfelt worship, trust, and true identity. Her passion is to bring others to the only thing that really satisfies and where true identity is found, the presence of Jesus. Praise the Lord. How are you, Joy? I'm good. I'm so glad to be here today. I'm super glad to be able to talk to you and just we had a little bit of a chat before we prayed, before we came on. And you know, I was looking at your website, and there's one thing we didn't add to your bio that I would love to talk about. But by the age of 14, you kind of already knew that something you had a desire. Yeah, absolutely. Talk about that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so so I am a pastor's daughter, a pastor's granddaughter, a pastor's niece. Like, I mean, it's just generation after generation of pastors. And so my dad was actually kids' pastor at the age since the age of seven years old. And I was I raised up in kids ministry, and but innately in me, I had a
Finding Her Voice At Fourteen
SPEAKER_01desire to sing. I love singing. I love, I just love music. And my mom is actually a singer as well. She was a worship pastor for years, and she actually got her vocal degree at O'Reillard's University. And so it's it's kind of just like a it's it's just something in my blood. Like I love to sing. But at 14, there was something in me. I'm never I was very shy as a kid, super shy. I couldn't look at people in the eyes when I talked to them because I was just so shy. But and so I didn't even sing in front of people till I was 14. When I was at a town, it was actually a talent show. It was for in front of my class at public school. And I remember standing on stage, freaking out, because nobody barely knew my, like there, people barely even heard my talking voice, let alone my singing voice. It was so interesting though, because the moment I stepped on stage and I put put the mic to my lips and started singing, it was like I was home. I was home on stage. It was very interesting. And it was like the Holy Spirit told it, it was a Christian song in front of a public school. And it was like the Lord told me, You're gonna be doing this the rest of your life. Wow. So then after that, I started going to worship practice for my youth group. Very, very quickly after I became the their worship leader for the youth group because the worship leader left for college. And then it was just a journey. We moved to Maui, Hawaii to join my grandpa's church. It's actually a church of over 700 locations around the world. And it's called King's Cathedral and Chapels. And our main church, we've been doing it for 40 years. Our main church is in Maui, Hawaii. And so we moved there to help our main campus. And very quickly, I was elevated to be the worship leader there for our youth group. My mom was the worship pastor, and I was just hardcore doing ministry. And so I've always known that I've wanted to be a worship pastor, but I've always loved writing music as well. The Lord would put songs on my heart, songs, songs from hearing his voice and kind of just putting it on the page. I love worship music, but I also just love when God speaks to me. You know, it says in his word that my sheep hear my voice. And and I, you know, I would hear, I would hear the Lord's voice of encouragement and and scripture and things, even in even in a rough season of moving from Missouri to Hawaii. There's a culture, you know, it's just a culture, really. And so I didn't have a lot of friends when I was little, you know, when I was 15 when we moved there. And but the Lord kept He was speaking to me about his love for me and and we developed a friendship. And it was like those words that he spoke to me was put on pages and then put into melody form. And so I not only loved to lead worship and sing on stage, but I developed this love to write music that reflected the heart of God. Wow. And so now at 28 years old, God has God has really grown that in me. And now my heart is to pastor worship leaders. And I want I want them to be able to experience the love of God firsthand and to bring it out and to bring his voice out to the pe the people in their world. Um, and to, you know, and to lead worship with with not not just to be on stage and to sing, but to lead out of a heart of pure love for Jesus and a pure relationship for him. So that, yeah, that's that's what I love to do. That's my heart. And I and it was something that started at 14 years old. So amazing. Praise the Lord.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, praise the Lord. I was just, I think last week's uh recording, I interviewed somebody that also does worship, and she had talked about it, it was just so profound, and it just meant so much that she used the the terms of the genuine worship because a lot of times you go places and you don't know if it's genuine worship. You to be a worship leader and to
Building A Lifestyle Of Worship
SPEAKER_00be the lead person, you're trying to bring everybody into that atmosphere that you yourself are experiencing. And so she shared about that. And so that's kind of set what it sounds like you do as well. Yeah, absolutely. And genuine worship is so important to know how to get to that place.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely, a thousand percent. I mean, I tell I tell my my people, and listen, if you aren't developing a lifestyle of worship, how can you expect to lead others on stage? Um, you are you are the you are supposed to be the person on stage as you are off. And and I I tell them this the Lord isn't coming back for a uh impure bride. He's coming back for a pure bride, he's coming back for those who are ready with with just like the 10 virgins of that parable. We he's coming back for for those who are ready with oil, with their lamps filled with oil, not those five. And so I tell them, I say, come on, let's let's develop this relationship with the Lord, let's be, let's be ready, let's let's worship on our own time because peop because because again, we're to lead worship out of a place of of authenticity, of loving him purely, and not just and not just out of talent, you know. Like I I keep telling people this, but I'm like, listen, talent's great. Talent gets you through a door, talent opens a door for you, but it is the relationship and the anointing that gets you through the door. Yes, and it keeps it keeps you pure and it keeps you steadfast.
SPEAKER_00Because there's a lot of churches that I'm sure you've seen where the worship part, there's some people that just maybe they're new to church and so they're coming and they're just seeing, oh, that's a really good band, but you don't want to be thought of as that when you're up there because you're there to usher in the presence of God so that what by the time the the ministering pastor that's gonna preach the word, by the time he comes, there's an anointing that's so heavy everybody is ministered to because there's healing going on, even just with the worship.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely, absolutely. Yeah, but I mean there was a scene in my life where um I again I don't know if on my bio it talks about kind of my my my college, like where I went. I was a part of Old Roberts University worship for five years. And you know, I would lead worship in front of thousands every single like twice a week. We were on, we were on, you're on TV. We, you know, like God gave me a lot
When Talent Becomes An Identity
SPEAKER_01of opportunity there. It was it was great. And I became known for my voice. Like people would be like, dang, you can sing these high notes, you can riff, you know, like they were, they were just they were they loved my voice, but and and so that season of my life, I that became my identity. I was like, wow, I have a great voice. But you know, as I've grown closer to the Lord, when people just target, they just they highlight my voice, but not the anointing. I grieve. Right. Because I'm like, you you look you listen to my voice, but not you didn't have an authentic encounter with the Lord, because that's my goal here. That's that's what I want. Is I I am just a vessel to point them to the one who even gave me a voice. I mean, I am just a vessel for them to encounter the living God and to worship him for themselves. And so that's that's what a worship leader is.
SPEAKER_00Oh, and I was thinking as you're talking about David, you know, when he was called to minister to King Saul at the time, he had already developed his heart for worship before he was called to come and minister to bring healing to a troubled spirit, soul of King Saul. Absolutely. And he had already known how to do that because he had already experienced what that was like, you know, learning how to worship the Lord in true, genuine worship and heartfelt worship and communication with God. And so by the time he brings that to King Saul, there was healing that was happening, and which is why King Saul had summoned him. Yeah, yeah, he didn't have to say anything or do anything, he just worshiped. And then and then all the other things that were gonna come with that came. And you know, and I think it's like how the word talks about how David, you know, being having a heart after God. God knew that heart. Absolutely, just in the worship.
SPEAKER_01And I'm so thankful. I'm so thankful that he doesn't give us what we can't bear. Yes, because imagine, imagine if he gave David the promise before he was ready. And I and I tell a lot of people this many people want a platform, but they're not willing to shepherd. Right. Many people want to be seen, but they're not willing to be hidden in the fields where God has impressed them to the small things. Yep. Many people want to be on the platform, but not clean toilets, you know what I'm saying in the church. And that's that's my heart is man, and it took a long time to get there. I mean, it's not I I man, it's been a journey of of five, six years, seven years. And I mean, kind of a part of my testimony is you know, I I now we're we're ministering to hundreds of people, we're pastoring two churches, but our our our one, our first campus started in the garage of our house, like our garage and 10 people. Wow. And it was after a season of I graduated from Old Roberts University, like I had great, you know,
The Garage Church That Shaped Her
SPEAKER_01I had plans for my life, like I wanted to just be elevated in great things, good, great ways. And the Lord asked me, and this is why it's very important to know his voice. He asked me, Joy, would you help your parents build this church that I've called them to in this little garage of 10 people? And so, and it was very hard. I had to have confirmation because I I felt like Gideon, because I was like, Are you sure? Like I need I need a fleece, you know, like because it it wrecked my pride. It was very humbling, and I felt very hidden and very forgotten because again, I was leading worship in front of thousands on TV, now in a garage of 10 people every week. Yeah and and there was no open door after that. It was like the Lord wanted me to focus on those 10 people, and then we've grown, but it but he developed that, he developed my character where it was like it's not about the numbers, it's not about the platform, it's about my heart, and it's about what I want to do through you in specific seasons, it's about the one. It's a we chase the 99, but what if the one is lost? I look for the one. Yeah, thank you. So man, it's just it's God is faithful.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's just powerful. And so I also saw on your website that you actually did things on you version.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Well, then this was um, I I haven't done my personal stuff, but yes, this was uh attached to Roberts University. So we have they have two albums out. Where what is it? It's anyway, they have two albums out. I forgot what the album titles are, but what they did was it's such a cool idea. On their first album, what they decided to do was to have a devotional for each song. So I think there was about like
Devotionals And The Long Road To A Book
SPEAKER_01eight or nine songs or something like that. And so there were nine prompts or however, however many songs there are. And so I worked part-time for or Ore You Worship, and they asked me, they said, Joy, you're a great writer, and I and we know that this is your calling and you that it's your passion. Would you write this devotional that is that connects with our album? And I was like, wow, that is such an honor. So I that was that was that was my job. That was one of my jobs. I love it. And now, so that's it's now on you version. I love it. Um, and I think it's called You Are My One Thing or something like that. And it's attached to Roberts University. Um, so that that's on you version right now. And I'm praying that the book I have that I just released one day will be on that. But right now it's just in paperback form and it's on Amazon. But yeah, that that was a crazy open door. And and that is something that I will encourage people as well. Is if you partner with someone else's vision, God will God will give you also the desires of your heart. Yeah. If you humble yourself and you be a part of what God wants to do and allow people to again be humble, then the Lord can also give you the desires of your heart. And I've seen it time and time again. So yeah, but yeah, that's it's on you version right now.
SPEAKER_00That's exciting. And then I'm curious because your book just got released in May. Yes. This shows airing in August, but that's super exciting. So, do you think the writing of that devotion kind of sparked that reason within you? Like, hey, I can keep writing. I love this. Let's just write a book.
SPEAKER_01Man, well, I I'd never even thought of even writing a book. And this is and this is what happened. And again, it has it's another part of my testimony. Man, I feel like I'm marketing ORU. ORU is like the best campus ever. But anyway, I I heard I heard the Lord's voice for the first time for myself when I was. I mean, I I say that I did hear God's voice when I was 15, but I didn't it in Hawaii, but I didn't recognize his voice and realize it was him until I was in college in my freshman year of college. And this this comes to our comes to the writing of the book. But I remember the first time I actually felt like I knew it was his voice. I was in the prayer tower and I spent like hours with him, and he just started speaking to me. And I would take my notebook in my journal, and I would just write pages after pages after pages of his voice, and I knew it was him, because there's no absolute way that it would have come for me. And I would look back and there would be scriptures that align with everything that he was telling me. And again, it was just pages after pages, notebooks after notebooks after notebooks. And it was in 2020 during COVID, in a season where everyone, it was a hard time for everyone. We were stuck in a 700 square foot cottage where at that time where I was done with ORU, I was living with my family in this little cottage, and there was not much, I didn't have much. I felt like I had no privacy. I was sharing like a little, little, little room with my sister. But the Lord kept speaking to me. And so I felt like the Lord said, start taking those journals that you wrote down and start putting it onto your computer. Because what I'm gonna do is in the years after this, I'm going to develop a devotional through these things that I've spoken to you, to my bride. And so they're chapters actually of what the Lord has spoken to me pages ago, and I've developed a devotional from them. So, you know, the first, you know, one of the first parts of it is he's speaking directly to you. And then there's the body. So talking about a passage of scripture and then the historical context of that chapter. And then there are reflection questions that you go through with either you or a group study. So, but it it was a it was a process, it was a five-year process. Yeah, it wasn't just something I wrote in a few months or even a year, it was five years of just hearing the voice of God and writing down what you told me.
SPEAKER_00So I know I remember writing my first book. Um, I had just finished my master's and you know, just people knowing my life before and then seeing my life now. And they were like, this was in 2013, 14, and they're like, you should write a book. I'm like, Oh, I don't even want to school no more. I was in college because I was a single parent. So it took me from the age of 33 till I was uh 50 before I finished everything with my teacher's credential, my master's. And so I'm just like, that's the last thing I want to do is write a book. But not even realizing that I had been asking God questions about my healing. Like I knew the Lord, I had a relationship with him, but I didn't feel free. And I kept saying, like, why aren't I free from depression and anxiety? What is going on? Your word says that I would be free indeed, and I don't feel free. What is going on? I kept asking that, and they kept saying, and then somebody else like go a couple weeks like, you really need to write a book, Ramona. And I'm just like, so finally one day, somebody told me, Look, I think I oh, I had surgery and I was home and I wasn't working, and they're like, Okay, you can't just keep running from this, you need to sit down and write this book. Oh, I'm telling you, Joy. As soon as I started, like I prayed and I asked the Lord, where do you want me to start? And I just couldn't believe He had me go where I was going. And just started writing and weeping and gut wrenching and just writing, and I was just like, oh my gosh, like within a week I had this full manuscript, and I'm just like, oh my god, like there were so many instances of how this happened, but in in the end, and and just shortening because there's so much that went on with that as far as my healing. Basically, he knew, like, okay, now's time to let you know. This is where it happened, this is when it happened, this is how this is when you felt like you were nobody, and this is something I've been protecting you from, but now you can deal with it. Like, basically, if he would have told me what I remembered that I had stuffed for so many years, if he would have told me that even probably a year before I started writing it, I probably would have gone off the deep end. But he did it in such a gentle, caring, loving way between just him and I alone writing that I was just like blown away. And then I realized, like, okay, I need deliverance from this hurt that happened. And little by little, you know, I've been healed off medications, no more therapy, all that stuff that I had gone through for years, and my book came out. So it's like now I know, and now I can talk about those things. You know, that's what's so amazing about him is that now I can talk about those things that happened with other people because I walk through it. I know I can talk to you about this, I can impart healing on you because he healed me, and I'm a living testimony of that. Yeah, and and God is just amazing, and I love how he stirs up the writing of like you have all these notes for years. I had in 19 It was 33 years old, 1930. 1993. So I was 33. I was born in 1960. And I had to write my very first college class was a women's writing. They wanted me to write about something that was traumatic. I wrote about an abusive divorce, and it was called Free at Last. And that book stayed on my computer. And so from 33 till I was 45, that book, every time I went through something, that book was my diary. Wow. And so after I was sat down, you know, when he sat down with me and I started writing, I'm like, okay, I already had everything. And the book is already called Free at Last. Wow. And so he's like, you already have it. So just like kind of like your testimony. I already had it. And I just had to I just had to clean it up. I already had the notes. I already had the the relationships. I already had the things I had gone through. And it was just summarizing it. So now then I had my title. You know, it's called Free at Last, the Struggle to Be Good Enough. And so I know. Isn't that amazing how God does that? And so I love your testimony. And what is the name of your book? Joy in the Journey.
SPEAKER_01Joy in the Journey, yes.
SPEAKER_00Right? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And there's only that my name's Joy.
SPEAKER_00And there was a journey in that, right? Yeah, absolutely. And there was healing in those days of those years of when you wrote those things. Absolutely. And I love how his truth, his truth never goes void. Right. That's that same truth that healed you then is still healing people now. So amazing. Yeah, that's so true.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, when you were talking about your testimony, about your book, the two things came to mind. Number one, healing is on the other side of your obedience. That's number one. Because a lot of people they're thinking, how when can I be healed? How does this? Yeah. But then the Lord is again like what you said, if you would just do what he asks, your healing is on the other side of your obedience. That's for someone today. Yeah. Your healing is on the other side of your obedience. It might hurt,
Obedience Testimony And Real Healing
SPEAKER_01but I'm just reminded again what it says in 1 Samuel that obedience is better than sacrifice. Obedience is better than sacrifice. Number two, Revelation 12, 11. We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. The word of our testimony, yes, is for other people. Absolutely. And that's one of the reasons why we testify. But many people don't realize that when we testify, again, there's there's life and death in the power of our tongue. And when we speak out or write out the word of our testimony, not only are we ministering to people outside of us, but we are ministering to ourselves and and we are healed from the inside out. Because again, it it's it's it's it's it's our testimony, and the Lord knows that. And that's I just love that. I love your test, I love your testimony about your book because there's someone, there's someone listening today that that that if they would just share their testimony, if they would just obey, then healing is on the other side of their obedience. Right?
SPEAKER_00Because I could have very easily went to a different doctor, got another prescription, found another therapist, and continued on this journey, wondering, am I ever gonna get healed? Wow. Depending on men, and instead of depending on God. And he knew it was time because I was seeking it, you know. I was seeking it. I wanted more. And the hunger for acknowledging the Holy Spirit, like I I wanted that. I was like thirsty for it, but I didn't know how to obtain it. And I had already been serving the Lord for years, you know, but it was it was just I didn't know how to get there. And where I was going, they didn't know how to get me there, you know. Take this class, take that class. And some of these are all good, but at the same time, it's it wasn't what I need. I needed to have that personal time with him. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_01He's the great physician, absolutely, just like the woman with the issue of blood. Yeah, imagine if C didn't, it was uncomfortable. Yep. But imagine if she didn't go out and touch the hem of his garment. Yep.
unknownYep.
SPEAKER_00Would she have been healed? Yeah, man. I know that's a powerful and the woman at the well, you know, here she was and she had ended up being the loudest voice to prepare so many people to come to Jesus. Yeah. You know, and so sometimes those of you that are listening to us, you know, you might think like God could never use me, and I'm just a broken hot mess. Well, let me tell you, I was a broken hot mess on the inside, right? On the outside, everything looked so good, but on the inside, I was a broken hot mess because of things that had happened to me as a child and just just abuse and just different things that I just I was a broken person inside. But I knew and I believed that God could do something with that, and I think if you just have that small little belief, just a tiny, like a mustard seed is so tiny. If you just can say, like, I know God that you can do something to make this feel better, He will. He will. Absolutely. So your book is on Amazon. It's called The Joy in the Journey. I encourage those of you that are listening to me and Joyce speak today to look for that on Amazon. It sounds like years of heartfelt writing, which I know are all words of truth, and the Lord directly ministering that these words are gonna heal somebody else. And I think that's what you intended. And also him. Absolutely. That's what he intended.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. Yeah, my heart for this book is again with the title, That You Would Find Joy in Your Journey with the Lord. And you know, each chapter is a little different. There's a different topic for each chapter, but I did it not because I I have a hard time with topics, but it is because just like every day is a little different, God has something new for you each day. So one chapter, one day is about salvation, another chapter is about giving your desires over to Him, another chapter is about satisfaction and contentment. Another chapter is about putting on the armor of God. Like there are different topics for each day that the Lord wants to say specifically to you. And I just have a desire and a hunger for people not to just walk in the mundane of life. Man, Christianity should be joyous, Christianity should be full of joy. Why? Because we serve a God that Psalm 16, 11, in his presence, there's fullness of joy at his right hand, there are pleasures forevermore. He has something for his kids. He in him, there's purpose and there's life. And in a relationship that is so satisfying, no other man could ever satisfy them like Jesus. No other thing can satisfy them like Jesus. And so that's my heart is that as they read this, they would be encouraged to not only know the one that has created them, but that they would live with that, with him and walk in step with him, not just for him, which is awesome, but with him on this journey of called life.
SPEAKER_00I love that. You know, Joy, we might have some listeners that maybe just kind of tuned in, maybe they've seen you and they're like, oh, I want to hear what Joy says in an interview, you know. And maybe they don't know the Lord, maybe, and I know this is something in your heart, but maybe they don't know how to get to Jesus. How do I, how do I bring this broken mess to him? Would you share the salvation message to somebody on air right now?
SPEAKER_01Yes, it says in Romans 10, 9 through 10, and I'm in the ESV, because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus
A Clear Invitation To Choose Jesus
SPEAKER_01is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and isn't saved. It is so it's it's it's it's simple. It's simple. It may not be easy because there are things in our life, there are things that we want to hold on to, there's sin that we want to hold on to. But if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is the Lord of your life, Jesus is the Lord, and that He died for your sins and was raised from the dead for you, and because of him, you can be in heaven forever. But only if you confess your sins and believe that Jesus is Lord, and then you believe, and you not only confess it, but you believe in your heart that this is so, then you shall be saved. Then you shall be saved. And it's it's simple, it's simple, right? But we have to have that choice to truly choose Jesus, choose the life that Jesus has for you. And it is the most fulfilling thing, it is the most fulfilling thing that you could ever have because he knew you before you were even in your mother's womb. Psalm 139. He is not only to be the Lord of your life, but he is the one who who loved you and knew you before no one else ever knew you. He knows every hair on your head. It's a it's something he he is chasing after you. There is he loves you beyond what you could ever imagine or think. And and for those who don't really know Jesus, I would, I would, I would say, man, get ready to be on a journey to know the lover of your soul, that to know someone who to know love, to know love, and to live with love and to walk with love, and to not only live a beautiful life with him, but to be eternally with him forever, forever and ever. I love it.
SPEAKER_00I love it. And you know, maybe you don't have a Bible, but you know, there's so many Bible apps. There's different ways that you could read the Word of God. The book of Romans is a beautiful chapter. You could start with the gospels, and that would be Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John, just to be able to understand who Jesus was and what he's did. You could read the testimony about the woman at the well or the woman with the issue of blood. Those are beautiful testimonies of healing. And the other thing, too, is you know, sometimes, Joy, and I know you've heard it many times, you think that you have to clean up your act because I think we're all born with a reverence of who God is already. So we're born with that reverence of like, I can't come to God, I'm a hot mess, right? But but he wants you exactly how you are because he already knew all those things were gonna happen. He wants to be able to give you that forgiveness that you've been feeling so broken and hurt about because you do feel kind of hurt, because we are born with that reverence of God. Yes, so it's just kind of an instinct that we have, and and and so that's normal, but you can't clean up your act before you come to God because you'll never be cleaned up enough to be able to present yourself to such a the king of kings. Like you will never be clean enough, you'll never have that last cigarette, you'll never have that last drink in that place. Like, just do it, and you don't have to walk into the doors of a church to do it, you can do it right where you are. You could pull over in the car and just say, I want to know who this Jesus is, and he will meet you right there. The rest of the stuff is just mechanics. We we say to go to a church because we want you to experience the worship that Joy does. We want you to experience a pastor that's preaching and teaching, we want you to learn about him. So that's why you walk into the doors of a church, but he can meet you right where you're at.
SPEAKER_01Yes, absolutely. Yeah, that's so good. And and I I also want to add church is important because you want to be because church is family. Yes, church was God's idea, church is God's body. And so, yes, but you're absolutely right. You don't have to wait to go to church because you know what, we're not promised tomorrow. Yep. You know, tomorrow, tomorrow is Sunday. I was gonna say tomorrow's not it is Sunday, but let's say the Monday, either there's not church on Tuesday, you don't have to wait. You can you can accept him right now and be and then join the family, join the family, God's family, because yes, people aren't perfect. I was just telling my friend about this, man. There's church hurt people because people aren't perfect, because people, people hurt people, hurt people, hurt people, but Jesus, the, the, the, the one, the one who is the head of his body, the one who is head of the church, loves you and and wants you to come into his family and wants you to serve him and his family. So I'm a big proponent of church. I love church, but and I also know that salvation is the only way, so it's accepting him is the only way to heaven. So do that today. It's awesome.
SPEAKER_00Praise God. Praise God, praise God. Wow, we're almost to the end. I wanted to talk to you just briefly. So, King's Collective Endless Sea, what is that?
SPEAKER_01Hallelujah. So I love to talk about this. It's so like what I mentioned, King's Cathedral and Chapels is our church. We have 700 locations around the world, like what I said. King's Collective is a music, is a worship music group that represents basically all seven of our 700 of our locations. Wow. We record all of our music on our main campus in Maui, Hawaii, but all the songs are written from our church, and
King’s Collective Music And Where To Find Joy
SPEAKER_01we have different worship leaders from around the world. We sing some singles, and but we are a basically we're we are a church worship band. And yeah, and I there's a couple of them that I sing in. And but yeah, we have we actually have three conferences every year that it's oh man, we have to we have to go to Hawaii to do a work trip. No, but we we go three times a year for this for these conferences so that we're united together, and that's when we record these songs. We do live music, and it man, it has really unified our churches too, as kings. But also, I've heard of many testimonies of people listening to our songs and just you know, just coming across it on Spotify or and then they just man, it's it becomes their anthem. The specific song Be Exalted, Be Exalted by Kings Collective is such an anthem. It talks about the names of God, and it's just a beautiful worship song. So that's who we are. I love it. Yeah, we love it.
SPEAKER_00So those of you are just love what you're listening to. Joy has a website where you can find all of this. So it's J-O-Y-W-E-R-N-E-R dot com. Joy Werner.com. I encourage you to go there, see what Joy's all about. She has her book there, she has some of her music videos there, her bios there. You'll get to see what she looks like there. And you can just kind of you could probably like her and follow her and see what's coming up. And do you so we're we're airing this in August? Do you have anything coming up with the church with your church in the future from August?
SPEAKER_01Not not right now. Okay. Um, yeah, I I did have some things like previously, but okay.
SPEAKER_00We're still figuring out the calendar stuff, but but it'll be listed on your website if something comes up. Absolutely, yes. Wonderful, wonderful. Joy, it's been such a pleasure. I've really enjoyed our conversation. Yes, thank you so much for having me. Yeah, and you know, I just one more time that just you know, just ask the Lord to meet you where you are. Find a good church that there's so many, right? But find a good Bible preaching believing church to find your family that's gonna help you and encourage you because sometimes you feel alone when you make this decision, because maybe your friends are still out running amok and they're not ready for the choice that you're making. And so you do, you kind of feel alone, and he does that because he wants you to come and join. You know, he wants you to have new friends and new people that are gonna speak life into you, which is so very important when you start your journey. That's your discipleship, right? You want to be discipled in the things of God, and so just to kind of say that one more time. And Joy, do you have any last words before I have you pray us out?
SPEAKER_01I mean, the big thing is choose Jesus today, choose him. Yes, and if you are Christian and you've been a Christian for a long time, choose him again, choose him daily. Take up your cross daily. Um, because man, I've been a Christian almost all my life, but there have been seasons where I just feel like I'm in the motions. And but but just like a marriage, I'm not married, but I've heard, you know, in marriage, you know, there's seasons where, you know, life happens, but may we come back to that honeymoon
Choose Jesus Daily And Closing Prayer
SPEAKER_01stage with the Lord that we would never, never, never run out of our awe of him. And that when we do that and we have that revival in our heart, then we will see revival in our churches, then we will see revival in our families. So, man, choose him again and again and again. So praise Jesus. Amen. Amen.
SPEAKER_00I would love it if you would pray us out.
SPEAKER_01Amen. Yeah, absolutely. Lord, thank you. Thank you for this opportunity. I believe this was a divine appointment. There's a it's a divine appointment for someone listening today. And I pray, Holy Spirit of God, I pray that you would meet them where they're at, whether in their their car, they're in their house, wherever they are. Lord, and I declare, God, that you would make yourself so real to them. Yes. Lord, I pray that if they've never even heard your voice before, start speaking to them, God. Lord, that they would develop a hunger for your word, a hunger for your spirit, a hunger to get close to you. And I just speak, Lord, every desire of their heart be fulfilled. Lord, I know that there's someone listening that they've been praying and praying, like Hannah, the persistent prayer, God, for something that needs to happen. Lord, you are faithful. And I declare, God, that every desire of their heart, God, they will see it come to pass that they will not lose heart, Jesus. Lord, whether it's a prodigal son that has to come home, or whether it's a desire, someone that that wants to be pregnant but can't, Lord, you are in the business of uh of opening doors and that no man can shut. Yes. Lord, and so I thank you, God. Bless them today. Bless them in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen and amen.
