Dr Teeth was far ahead of his time artistically.

Welcome And Why We’re Bitching

Heather

Hey everybody! Stop counting down that we weren't paying attention. Everybody. Whoops! So welcome to episode 29 of Do We Love That for You.

Zia

Yeah. And our episode today is Do We Love Bitchin. Beep. I beep you. You get it? No, we're not. I beeped you out. I beeped you out. You'd never hear me if you beat me out. That is true.

Heather

No. You know, I had a great long weekend on my little mini vacay. Yeah. But I came back with a sore throat, not feeling well. The heat here was oppressive. I mean, I was in Florida.

Zia

Yeah.

Heather

And it's hot in Florida, but it was actually there was like zero humidity. Yep. Yep. And I come back here and it's hot and it's I just came back miserable. Ugh. Like grumpy miserable.

Zia

Yeah. So I want a bitch. But you've had a pretty rough week too. I have. It was uh, you know, we're getting closer to the end of the year. We got two more weeks. Um, I think it's like four full days or five full days of school, four half days of school. I see you. I see I don't see you, I just see blank, but there you go. I don't know. I I lost you there for a minute. So I was trying to I was checking my Wi-Fi.

Heather

Yeah.

Zia

So um, you know, everybody's getting crazy. They know it's the end of the year. Yeah. What are you gonna do? Yeah. Bitch. But you actually were saving some people yesterday while I was bitching outside, but we'll get to that later.

Heather

No, first I'm gonna tell you saving lives. I was I was in New York saving lives while sitting on my couch in New Hampshire. That's a Yeah, that just didn't even so all right.

Zia

So tell me, tell me about your brain flight, your little flight.

Heather

Okay, so the flight down was fine. I sat next to Mr. Grumpy Pants in my window seat because that's what I ended up with. But I sat next to Mr. Grumpy Pants, who, if I would have had to pee my pants, I would have peed my pants because I don't think he would have acknowledged if I asked him to move. But that's fine. It was only a three-hour.

Zia

You were saying

Airport Stranger And Estrogen Talk

Zia

that. Yep. Yep.

Heather

Yeah. So we get to we get to Florida, I get to Florida, having a great time. Um coming back, I go, I get to the airport, didn't have my TSA craze because I was not with two computers, I had just mine. Yeah, yeah. So I was able to get through TSA like a normal person. And then I'm sitting down and I'm I I went and their airport has plugs in every chair. So when you sit in a chair, you can just plug right in. Yeah, it's great. So I sit down and I plug in my phone and I put my AirPod in, and I'm just sitting there with one AirPod and just playing on my phone, not even listening to anything, but ready to listen if I wanted to. And this lady comes, gorgeous woman, about our age, super curly, like Eliza curly hair, only shorter. Yeah. Yeah, like absolutely beautiful. Comes up, she sits down next to me. So I slide over, you know, my bag over. I didn't need to, there was plenty of room, but you know, I slide my bag over and she sits there for a minute, and we look at each other and do the official head nod and you know, hi. And she sits there for a minute or two and she goes, I have to go to the bathroom. Can I leave my bag? And I look at her and I'm like, sure. So and I'm thinking to myself, what does she think? I'm gonna like fight somebody if they try to steal her bag. I'm gonna be like, Hey, don't touch that. Okay, bye. I mean, you know. So she's gone. She comes back and sits down and she starts just this casual conversation. And it it it was a nice conversation. Nothing, you know, how's the weather? What do you where are you going? How you been, kind of stuff. Yeah. Then she says to me, Are you on estrogen? What? I started hormone therapy and I tell you what, it was the greatest thing I ever did. I ask every woman I'm near if they're on estrogen. And I'm like, Well, I am, and it is awesome. So then she's like, I love that for you. And so we started talking about how awesome being on estrogen was or is, and how our menopause symptoms went away. And so we're laughing about that. A minute or two later, she asks, or I asked her something to do with why she's going to Boston. Um and she says she loves the Northeast and she wants to move to the Northeast, but she can't because she's got family that needs her down in in Florida. And I laughed and I said, I'm kind of in the same boat. I got family up, you know, in the New England area because most people don't understand New England. Like I got people in in the New England area as well. I said, and I want to move down here, and she laughed. And she goes, I love that frost. And so I sat there for a minute and I'm like, what would Zia do? So I reach in my wallet and I grab one of our new cards, and I'm like, I said to the woman, deadpan face, I am gonna talk about you on my podcast. Right. And she goes, Oh, you have a podcast? I love that for you. And I busted out laughing. And I said, I do have a podcast. I said, and I'm gonna talk about you because the name of my podcast is Do We Love That For You? I said, I co-host it with a great friend. I said, and I said, we say that all the time. And she goes, I love that for you more. So I give her our card and she's like, Can I can I watch this on YouTube? And I'm like, Well, we're on YouTube, but it's only as an audio clip. Right. I said, we're working on trying to figure out the logistics to make it right, um, a video on YouTube. And she's like, okay, she's like, I'm gonna have to listen to this. So I'm sure she is going to find us and listen. I I haven't looked to see it, but we did have a few listens the other yesterday. Awesome. Um, but she just made me, she just brought me up. Like, that's great. I was sitting in the airport by myself. I wasn't down or depressed or sad or nothing. But this complete and total stranger just walked up to me and just totally brought me up. Like, love it. Love it. I needed that. I didn't need it, but I needed that, and it was perfect. I love that for me too. Yes, yes, awesome.

Zia

So yeah, very good. So mm-hmm. Very good. So yeah, I'm eating. Sorry. Oh, you're good. Um so I was talking to you about repetitive questions. So, like, okay, so like I'm uh I'm a Capricorn, and I know I blame a lot on that, but it it, you know, our zodiac signs have a lot to do with behavior. Um I I'm a believer in that. Um and one I Capricorns just don't like laziness. We don't like to be asked

Repetitive Questions And Direction Sense

Zia

the same question over and over again. Like and if I know it and I know it 15 years ago and you've been in my life for 15 years, I assume that you should probably know the answer to the goddamn question that's actually being asked of me. Because if I see it and you're around me, you should probably also see it around me. Yeah, that's true. So I get very, very crazy when people ask me questions that I know I have actually answered that many years ago. And now you're re-asking it. And I just can't take it. And you're acting like you never asked it, but you've asked it. So that was a very information. Yeah, I just you don't do that to me. So I don't get that from you. So I mean, and we're on like 10 years, okay. So you don't ask me those things. Um so I guess I encircle my friend group with people that don't do that to me because if I had a friend like that that did that to me, I'd I'd probably have to drop you. I I would be dropping you. Yeah. Yeah, I could I could. Yeah. So how do you feel about that?

Heather

Again, we've kind of brought this top not to be punny, but this is a topic we've brought up before. Repetitively. No, okay. Repetitively. Um, I feel there's a time and a place for repetitive questions. Um, I get annoyed. I get annoyed most of the time when people ask the same question or a question that you know the answer. I understand the confirmation. For example, I'm relatively new in New Hampshire, and I'll say as I'm leaving, I have to go left to get to Concord, right? Yeah. And and yes, I'm asking that for the hundredth time, but I'm also orientating myself and getting my north, south, east, west and all that. So I feel like that kind of a question isn't a repetitive question, but it's when I would say situation. Right. But that's what I was just gonna say then. But when I but I would also say that I'm also still learning New Hampshire. Yeah. So I don't have all that. So no. Like if I'm don't keep asking the same question.

Zia

Yeah, if I'm in New Jersey and I'm in the car and just just say my cousin's in the car, and I say uh Woodbridge Ball is south from here, she'd probably be like, what the fuck? Like, are you are you kidding me right now? Like, are you kidding me that you just asked that? Like that would be stupid. Because I know the area, you know? Right.

Heather

So wait, can I can I jump on that for one second? Yeah. So the my friend that I was with in Florida, she she teases that she never finds anything. And and this this vacation, she was gonna drive, and she was gonna know where everything was on the island we were on in Florida. Yeah. And so I was laughing, and I'm like, sure. So we're driving, and I go, now we're on an island on the east side, on the Atlantic side of Florida. We are headed, I'm gonna let you know our back on the road we're going. Now the road stop. We are heading with our back to the ocean. Okay. The title of the road is north, I don't know, we'll just say 210. But we are headed with our back to the ocean. So I said, What direction are we driving? And she said, We're on north 210. And I'm like, I get that. But but if I were to say go west or go east, which way are you going? She's a teacher. Now, mind you, she's a music teacher, but she's a teacher. And she couldn't figure it out. It took her a few minutes and she's like, Oh, I think we're going west. Um, I don't know, but I just got an alert that said there's smoke near the school in my town, which is on my street. Oh. So give me a second to look this up.

Zia

Yeah, and actually, I have a different recording that popped up. What do you mean? I don't know. My time started at 25 now. 26 or 28. Oh, I'm at 1230. 1240. Yeah, I don't know. It says that I'm at maybe you're how long we've been on the line.

Heather

No, it's 0040. Well, you're gone. Are you are you on your 5G?

Zia

I wonder if it's just storms today. Yeah, it keeps restarting my recording with you. So it like goes five, four, three, two. Oh, at the bu on the screen? Yeah, that's the second time, and now I'm at 18 again.

Heather

Weird.

Zia

Because you haven't changed for me. Alright, so hopefully you hear me all that time.

Heather

I hear you. I got you. Okay. All right. But anyway, so yeah, so I was teasing her with not knowing her her directions. Yeah, because that's sorry, that was a squirrel moment.

Zia

No, that's that's funny. Because I was following you as you were telling the story as to where I would be heading. Yeah. Exactly.

Heather

Or we're heading with our back to the water. So if we're on the Atlantic Ocean and we drive away.

Zia

Yeah, regardless of what the road says. Right, because roads don't go pin straight. They Yes. You guys can't see, but I'm making really weird motions with my hands. Compass. Yeah, so it it but it's a little light on it, and it says, you know, west, southwest, southeast, you know. So even if it says, you know, North Boulevard, I could be going west for a moment. You could even be going south on North Boulevard. I could be going, yep. Yep. So all right. Yeah. So I'm gonna kind of explain the first thing that I said, how Heather saved the world yesterday. Saved the world. Yes, I was very grumpy yesterday. Um, you know what? I wasn't really grumpy. I was angry yesterday. It came to I was I was very angry yesterday, but I had to go do a few things that I didn't mind doing after school, um, but I knew I had to also deal with people. So Heather was on the phone with me, and I'm

Hardware Store Rage With A Lifeline

Zia

running in and out of places and losing her too, because some of the places didn't have signal. So um I went to several places and I went up to a person in a store that worked there texting while I was going to ask a question. And I walked up to this gentleman, this was in Lowe's, and I was like, excuse me, sir. I was like, as he still continued to look at his phone, where would your kits be? And I'm I'm explaining exactly what I needed. Yep. I was like, where would your kits be for the portable air conditioners, meaning like tubing, you know, uh that sort of thing. There are kits online. Do you have any? And he said, our air conditioners are down there. And I said, That's not what I asked you. That is totally, and I really was not saying it this nice. I was like, that is not what I asked you. You did not say it that nice.

Heather

As a matter of fact, I think I even said in your ear, be nice.

Zia

Yep, yep. She was giving me like nice EQs. Be nice, nice EQs. Yep. So I was like, he goes, I said, that is not what I asked you. So I repeated the repetitive questions. I had to repeat my question this time for you did no one, no one answering me. Um, and he goes, Oh yeah, check 30. And I'm like, okay, thank you, I guess. I don't know. And he's like, he was like, yeah, I don't really know. So I go, well, you can't know anything if you're on your phone. And I walked away. Um so but the store before that, I had gotten in line and I grabbed everything I wanted from Home Depot, and I got in line to cash out. And of course, I grabbed the one thing that doesn't have a price tag on it. So I go to scan and I said to the guy, hey, could you just look this up so we could get this price going here? And Heather heard him. He was like, um, uh, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, um, beep, beep, beep, uh, beep, beep, beep. And I was like, I'm gonna go get the other box. I wanna get the other box. I'm by the other one.

Heather

So I'm sitting there, I'm sitting there feeling the vibe of Zia running through the store, breathing slightly heavy because she's gonna beat this guy now.

Zia

And I was like, by the time I get there and get back, I'll have the party before you look it up. You beat him. So I beat him, yep. And I said to him, uh, yeah, thanks. Like that. And he goes, Oh my god, yeah, no, no problem. Thanks for your help, too. And I was like, What fucking help did you give me? What was the help that you sure? So I I mean, I was walking in and out of the stores, and I'm in, you know, Heather's in my ear, and I'm like, Oh, here's Dumb and Dumber. Here's you know, Tweedledee and Tweedledum. Um, you know, here's thanks. I just also worked at Home Depot today. Um that was the comments coming from me. And then, you know, one lady's trying to go through the lot like through the parking spot.

Heather

Well, I'm yeah, I forgot about your parking lot drama.

Zia

I did forget about that. I'm I'm like backing out of the spot as a proper person should. There was no one in front of me, and I still backed out, and she drove through the spot and she looked at me like I was an asshole.

Heather

Because you had me in your ear, so you knew the inner driver trainer in me was like, Don't pull forward.

Zia

Yep, don't pull forward. And so she was halfway out of her spot, which she already left her spot, and I'm backing out and she honks at me. And I'm like, you know what? I was like, you know what, motherfucker? So I just like went around the other car and went through the spots because I was not gonna deal with this lady, and then she continued out that way. I went down the other way. I I'm like crossing her path, and she still honked a horn at me. Like, because I beat you now. Like I I didn't understand the second beeping of the horn when you're nowhere near me. It was it was to let you know that she was still there. Yeah, so as I'm saying, yes, Heather saved the world yesterday because I don't know if that would have gone that smoothly if you were not in my ear to vent to and also say stay calm in those situations yesterday.

Heather

Yeah, I I was I was getting ready to text Michael on the side and be like, Michael, yep, get to Lowe's!

Zia

Yep, yep, and I I also had to go to Walmart. You did, but you lost me in Walmart, so you were solo there. I know, I know, and thank God I knew where everything was. And actually, I did sell a gentleman on uh something I was doing because I I couldn't find the back piece part that I needed. Um, so I said, I know exactly what I'm gonna do if they have it. So I bought those little clear um paint containers, the little plastic clear, clear ones, and it has a square little top. So I bought those, and the gentleman standing next to me, he goes, What what are you what are you doing? Because he was looking for the same part I was looking for. And I said, Oh, I'm going to um cut the front off of that. I said, slide that onto my uh portable air conditioner and duct tape it, and then I will duct tape the other thing to the other side and I will have it secured on there. And he's like, That's genius. I'm going to do the same thing. So I went and I said, if I would have known you, I would have split a pack, but I don't know you, so I get all six. So anyway, have a good day.

Heather

See, now if I was in your ear, I would have been like, Zia, share with that man. Yeah, I mean like you won.

Zia

No. Oh, yep. So yeah, I was I was actually very nice at that point. It was my last stop, and then I was going home, so I was happy. But um, yeah, he was very impressed. He was like, uh, I said I'm gonna MacGyver this little You did.

Heather

That's what you texted me. Yep, yep. You texted me and said, I gotta go MacGyver all. this and make it work. Yep. So world, thank Heather yesterday. New York will remain a state because of Heather. The little angel in my ear. The little angel in your ear. You gotta have an angel and a devil. Most of the time I try to take the angel path but sometimes sometimes I yes just do it. Absolutely. But yep. So thank you. You're welcome anytime. It's you that's right. Oh do you get that overall feeling grumpy feeling? Wow that was a really bad sentence. But I understand you do you get that often I do.

Zia

I have to say I do the world doesn't do what I need it to do. I I I can't help you here. I can't help you do you Heather get that overall grumpy feeling often I try not to I mean obviously I do but I feel like I get grumpy moments and a lot of times mine is associated more with my anxiety than being grumpy.

Heather

But yesterday I did a B thing down at the VA and we were in our full B suits for like an hour and a half and midway through the the rec therapy lady was like we should take

Grumpiness Anxiety And Asking For Help

Heather

a break and we all in myself included was like no no no let's just finish because taking off all our stuff to turn around and put it right back on right so it was supposed to be a two hour thing it lasted about an hour and a half because obviously there's a break worked into it. So we finished and I I took off my beast suit and I was super sweaty which just makes sense but like I didn't feel well like my stomach was in knots so I thought okay I need sugar. So I had had a Dunkin' donut um Rich had stopped to get a wake-up wrapper or whatever and they gave him the wrong thing so they gave him a donut instead so he gave it to me. So I had the donut so I ate the donut thinking that would give me the little sugar boost I needed for you know to get me home and I almost fell asleep driving home so I'm like I'm like fighting asleep. I was like nauseous is like and then I just did grumpy all day like I didn't get out of it all day. And even helping you I was helping you yeah and I wasn't I was grumpy helping you but I was helping you because you needed it but like inside I'm like I really don't want to help her right now. I really just want to sit here and be grumpy and yeah so I try not to be grumpy save the world with both of us being grumpy.

Zia

With both of us being grumpy yeah I think that's a superpower I think that could be a superpower. That could be a superpower. Maybe I'll keep that one yes yes keep that one yeah I think um my grumpiness ebb and flows for each day um due to the inconsistency of people and not getting things done when I need them to be done. So it's it's a lot of grumpy and impatience and then I get more grumpy because things are not done as I would have done them. You know and I don't know if I brought this up last week but I know Michael had sent me that meme where it says you know like oh uh husbands and wives should tell each other I'm overwhelmed and I need help. And um I I was like okay but if I I'm not really overwhelmed but I do need the help sometimes. Right. Um and I don't want to ask for it because if the things I know I know me and I don't want to place upon anyone else the high velocity of um expectation that I have for something to get done. And it's just not fair to that person. And then I I also don't want to be the one that's bugging you to do it for me because you're not doing it as quick as I would do it. So and so I feel like you know A it's not fair to do that to someone but I do it because I'm trying to ask for help. Right. Um but then I ask for help and then the thing doesn't get done as quickly as I would have done it. Right. Right. So it's very it's like a little um grumpiness goes that way and it's not fair to the other person. So that's why I end up doing a lot of things myself. I get that I sometimes feel like that too I I do I yeah I have an expectation and most of the time 90% of the people can't meet it. Right. Because it's me. My expectation with myself and then you know I say well I should be freaking doing it so why the hell do you ask for help you know it's one of the things I'm learning to deal with in my therapy. Yeah yeah well let me know how that goes because I know I've been to therapy for that and I'm still stuck here. Yeah doing doing the same thought yeah doing the same thought yep yep I feel like I feel the same but that's we don't have that problem with us we we do we we we do the things we plan the things and we do the things I do what I gotta do. Yep yep I agree my legs my legs may hate me the next day but yep you know what I said to my friend I yep I said I said to my friend in Florida we were talking about something oh we were catching glow sticks in the dark on the beach one night and I threw two at her and she caught two and I kid you not I could not catch two oh and I'm like I lost and she goes you didn't lose I'm like oh I lost yep I could not catch two I didn't even know that was the challenge but the challenge became catch two I caught one and and she was like you'll be okay I'm like no I'm like you want to race back to the condo and she's like you can't run I'm like watch me I said you may have to carry me to my plane tomorrow but I'm gonna run you want to run she's like no I really don't so yeah that's great yeah we're very competitive you and I so yeah but we're not we're not competitive with each other we're just competitive with the world yeah yeah yeah because I mean well let's let me reword that we haven't really played any board games together um I'm not a very I I admittedly will admit to people I am not a good game player right like like not not that like oh my god I lost but I don't care enough to win right so I'm not a very fun board game player so when like Michael would play Monopoly with me and he'd be like I won I'm like I don't care like he he loses to love the game risk and he still does but not many of us play with him at that board game but I would say to him all the time I'm like I just want Egypt just don't kill me on Egypt just leave me alone with all my pieces on Egypt and I will be happy and he's like well it's the point is to take over world and I said I only want Egypt you can't have Egypt right so he started you know I you're the last person I haven't battled I need to take your pieces to win the game and I'm like fine so it doesn't give anyone pleasure to lose against me because I don't care enough to give you the pleasure to play against me.

Heather

So growing up Monopoly and risk were banned in our house.

Zia

Oh yeah yeah if you're a risk and monopoly player which is I feel like if you're a monopoly player you're also a risk player ease it's it's it's easy to mix comparable yeah it's a comparable thing. But yeah my d my uh my dad Pete loved Monopoly and there were many arguments in the house and leaving you with the board because we're not playing anymore. It's three days in and I don't give a crap I'd flip the board oh okay yeah yeah and see I'm an only child and I could give two shits if I win at a board game yeah you're weird yeah it's not doing anything for my life so bragging rights hello bragging rights is you know I won like three hundred dollars or I won some money real money that would be bragging rights you know and you didn't that would be bragging rights but no oh well that is too yeah it's like it's like fake money fake houses I don't care it means nothing in my life yep yeah I don't know I do like a good game of chess I may not be the best at it but I enjoy the thought process I like chess yeah I'm not suckers chess I'm not great at chess yeah I don't suck but I'm not great right yeah that's how I that's how I feel too yeah like there's better chess players in my family but I enjoy the game yeah yeah yeah I can I can do that I can see that yeah so I was interested um you have a bee story can I ask about your little bees no it's sad so you know I have two hives I have

Beekeeping Update Missing Queen Drama

Zia

my Dorothy my queen Dorothy and my queen Sophia yeah so I get back from my little mini cation and I go out to check everybody and make sure they're all doing well oh yeah and I go inside Dorothy and I can't find the queen and she has what they call um queen cells so a queen cell is when the hive decides they need to make a new queen when so the first when the egg is an egg before it turns into a larvae they eat a substance called que uh royal jelly and it's like it's a form of the pollen and the and the nectar and the and the honey it's just made thicker and it's what the queen lives on.

Heather

But when the queen first lays the eggs they all eat that for the first three days and then they turn into larva okay and then the larva eat just the the nectar and and and and all that and then they get capped as they're eating that and then they grow. Okay. If they're making a queen they feed it royal jelly and then they continue to feed it royal jelly and then it gets capped and but of course it's a bigger cell you know okay got it because it's a queen it's a bigger bee. Yeah well while I was looking for my queen yesterday or day before yesterday I um I I started to drop the frame that the hive is in or that's in the hive with the bees on it. And when I did that because I was trying to look at the queen cup I knocked it off. I ripped it off by accident. Okay. So I do have a picture of it. I lost it in the in the in the bee yard but I was able to get a picture of it right away um and there is a pupa the queen is an actual in the pupa phase and she is in the queen cup uh the queen cell which means they're making a new queen which means you may have lost your audio Dorothy may be gone okay so there's two options that could have happened she could have swarmed which means that they felt they didn't have enough room they needed more space and the hive divides and they leave okay okay that's option one option two is sh just noped out and wanted to go and she just left so I've got to go Capricorn bee I don't know what she is she's a grumpy so I've got to go back in and see if they have more queen cells. Typically when they grow a new queen they grow um two or three at a time okay and then the first one born typically goes and kills the other ones oh um sometimes she doesn't get to them in time they're if they're if they cut if they hatch at the same time they'll actually have a battle okay right then and there and the stronger one wins. But generally speaking when one emerges she kills the other ones and then she wanders the hive for a day or two and then she goes on her maiden flight which is her virgin flight where she meets up with all the drones and then she comes back to the hive and it takes her about a week or so to start laying again.

Zia

So interesting very interesting so I may or may not have a queen in my Dorothy hive so I've got to go back in posted so yeah yeah I'll skip I'll put a picture so you can post a picture of the um yeah pupa with the queen cell with the pupa on it okay yeah so but yeah it was kind of it may be sad yeah well maybe she heard out what our podcast was and she was like I'm grumpy yeah maybe she did I don't know she's listening they say you can talk to them did you tell her I do I I I have talked about the podcast out there I've talked about the

weather the podcast the fact that they're mad the fact that they're happy yeah very cool so you had a doctor appointment the other day I did and um thank god thank god um my um I did go to my endocrinologist and he was kind of asking when all this hip stuff was going to be done um and I was waiting for an MRI date uh because none of this stuff is really helping me um you know uh thank god my you know PT lady is so understanding and she knows I'm in pain because I'm trying whatever she says but she knows it's not helping it's just doing what it's doing and it's not really gonna fix this right now. But yeah so I got my MRI date. It's Wednesday. Um so we'll see uh what else is going on in there uh that could be causing me my pain and I'm trying not to take too much Motrin because it's screwing with my uh other conditions my GI conditions um and and also my numbers for my diabetes have been cuckoo because of it. Um but yes it has fingers crossed next Wednesday I get this done and we'll have a uh answer as to if I need surgery I don't need surgery we're cleaning it out or not cleaning out you know I got eight more years of PT I don't know I don't know that uh Shelly can put up with me for eight more years eight more years yeah I don't know but yeah so it's exciting all right you want to get into our tick to our TikToks our our five minute loves absolutely let's do it want to do 11 39 eleven oh you don't have time yeah you gotta do it I can't see it yeah oops hold on 39 well we're at 16 so we'll do 19 ready okay go tick tock tick tock tick tock tick tock all right so before we came up with the theme of the week yes Zia asked Home Depot were Lowe's because she was mad it was while she was in her grumpy storing yesterday yes so I'm I'm gonna go with Home Depot well yeah you you worked there for a minute it's amazing I love that for organization I like Lowe's for customer service I like Home Depot yeah yeah I agree I agree

Vacation Vibes Listener Questions

Zia

as reflected yesterday as reflected yesterday yes and Walmart has no cell service so yeah so I don't know we can't even include that nope so this week I did it I didn't even tell you what I was doing because I forgot at the time that we were recording early that's okay so I made the topic to kind of coincide with last week's yeah so it's vacation vibes absolutely so we did get one so I was excited to see that yeah it's from Nikki and she said do you like to have vacation where you are constantly on the go or would you rather relax and follow no schedule that's tricky I think I'd like to follow my schedule which would include relaxing and yeah um I I usually do like okay and now it's time to just do nothing time but but if you if you did have like an adventure to go on like we go to Aruba we did like we're going here we're going on the boat be here this time you know I just don't I I just don't like to be moving around a lot when it's vacation right it's like I'm I'm here to do nothing. Right so let's do nothing and then along the ways of doing nothing if we see something we'd like to do we'll go eat fix the time see what the time is and then we can go do that.

Heather

Yeah I think that's my vibe I like I like I like planning I like planning the trip around downtime yes I love it so like on the day we do when we go to Iceland when we're there for the eclipse yeah like that's the day when we're done with the eclipse I probably don't want to do nothing. Right. I don't want to do anything before it I want to do anything after let's just do the eclipse and then go back and find a hot tub or find a couch and sit outside and watch the stars or whatever is in Iceland. But yeah a lot of I want a lot of food rules my going places like yeah there's a good restaurant down there let's go let's go down there oh look while we're here we can go walk this little trail let's do that too yeah I think I'm that way I think that's mine I think I I kind of like the generally speaking I like the low-key kind of vacations yeah absolutely I mean even when we go on cruises you still have like sit by the pool days or yeah you know just go see the show tonight and then or go sit in the piano bar for three hours.

Zia

You know I mean yes you're doing something but you're you're not yep yeah I agree all right yep same yeah so we have another one is uh souvenirs for family and friends or just yourself or or you buy something for no one just do you don't buy anything for a souvenir what you got if it's the first time I'm going somewhere and there's a bunch of people excited for it family and friends.

Heather

Yeah and it might just be you know a a a pen for everybody or a magnet for everyone or whatever something simple um but if it's simple as I go all the time just me or no one you know I'll I'll I'll replace my broken sweatshirt or my hat that got ripped or whatever but yeah the first time there if people are excited about it yeah I'll buy one for for free

Zia

People. Yeah. Like, oh, I've never been. Then, yeah. Right. Most of the time, if I go somewhere, I'm just like, oh, like if I see something for you, I'm like, oh, uh, Heather needs that, you know, or that too. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm more of that type of person. Like, oh my God, that's so cool. Gonna get that for Heather, you know? You gotta get it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Alright.

Heather

Do you go places you want to go or you have to go? So I'm thinking with this one.

Zia

Um I've only gone really one place I've really wanted to go. Um not saying I didn't want to go to the other places, but like that I really wanted to go was Egypt. Right. Um that I mean that was since I was little, so that that definitely was a place I wanted to go. Most of the time, it's like, what are we doing on vacation? And then you pick a spot and it might be somewhere that you've always been or have always gone. And it's like it I guess I don't know. I guess I'm getting like unimpressed with things. Um so it's like while I'm even flying there or going somewhere, I'm like, I could just be home sitting on the couch watching TV. Yeah, I get you. You know, um, when I do go to Las Vegas, uh one place I say like while I'm there is like I have to go see my Java walkies. Like I even if I've seen the show 50 million times, I like it's I have to go see them. You will see a 50 million in one. I will, absolutely. But yeah, I guess um it's more of a have to go. All right. Yeah, yeah.

Heather

I feel like Rich and I are pretty good with that. Um I feel like it's both. I feel like we take turns. I feel like this year our big vacation is what I want to do. This year is what he wants to do. This year so I feel like I feel like it's both. Um I mean, there's always something. I mean, vacation and traveling is vacation and traveling. You can always find something that you look forward to where you go. Right. Right. Um, so I feel like even on the ones where I have to go, yeah, there's still something to do. Yeah. Or that I'll look forward to doing, I should say. Yeah. Yeah. But I think I think it for me it goes both ways. Yeah. Yeah.

Zia

Yeah, go both ways. Yeah, it goes both ways. Like I I love to go to Aruba. Like, I really wanted to go there when I went. But I think my my brain starts going, oh, I gotta pack. Oh, I gotta go in the plane, oh, I gotta sit on the plane so much that I'm like, now I don't want to go. Right. Yeah. I lose interest because of all the rest of the stuff, you know what I mean?

Heather

Because of everything around it, yeah.

Zia

I get that. Yeah, yeah. So um, all right, let's go to the next one. All right. So family, girls, friends, like your friends, go to spouse, extended family. Who do you go with, or what do you go with?

Heather

So generally speaking, um, it was always Eliza and me. And it would always be Eliza and me and my parents when she was little. And then it went to Eliza and me, and then um, we've done some Eliza, me, Rich, and Angie. Um, we've done just Rich and Heather. Um, and then this year is our first all four kids were invited, right? With whomever they wanted to bring. So this year is extended. Pause the end of this conversation till after that trip and we'll answer it then. But and we may be able to answer that other one, the souvenir one and the one to or have to. I mean, yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. But um I love my friends, their girlfriends' trips. I've done a couple of them, and they're always fun because they're different.

Zia

Okay.

Heather

When I'm with Rich, it's one way. When I'm with Eliza, it's one way. When I'm with girlfriends or or friends, it's a different, you know, they're all kind of different. So I think I think it's what you make it. I think I think I like all of them. I just like to travel. I want to travel.

Zia

Yeah. So um what about you? I I've not done a girls' trip other than with my daughter-in-law and my daughter. Um, we can fix that. Yeah, I know. I know. I like I would go with you, but I really I guess the list is small. Yeah.

Heather

That's my thing. That's my thing. I mean, I go with my friend from last week. Right. And we've been going since we met. I mean, we actually went, I think this first summer we met, we went that next summer.

Zia

See? Um very cool. Sous. Right. So, and then she has the other cousins come over, you know, the older cousins come over. Um that's kind of like my little girls' weekend, I guess, you know, with her. Yeah. Um, but yeah, no, I never I never was the one to do the girls' trip or the girls' night out, you know, kind of thing. I mean, you and I we we go together to do the things and then yeah, but I I never had like, you know, oh my god, girls night out. No, I no, I didn't have that many girl friends to do the girls' night out. So but I did go, I do, I do go places with Star a lot. Um, you know, her and I always take our little ventures. Uh, we've gone to Boston together and to Foxwood together, you know, the city. We always go to the city um to do our little mother-daughter trips. Um, and then we did those girls' weekend trip with her, uh, myself and Michaela. Um, so yeah, we did those. Yep. Um, we did family trips uh to Aruba. Um, we also have taken like a little weekend family trip uh just like for the day and come back to seaside, or we go to um we've done um what do you call it? Uh Coney Island too. We've done that. So I don't know. Yep. Yep. But I do want to go with you somewhere.

Heather

Yeah, we need to figure something out. Even if it's a long weekend like I just did. All right, yeah. We'll we'll talk about it offline. Yes, yes. So the next one falls off follows last week's. Yes. Eliza asked us last week, um, window or aisle. Absolutely. And yep, and that got me thinking first class, business or premiere or whatever they want to call it, or economy.

Zia

So actually, Michael had this conversation with Star. Um, because she's going on more trips. Um, and he said, you know, there was a time we were just like, get the cheapest flight, go. That was great. What a great price. Round trip, perfect. Yeah. With all of our little disabilities.

Seat Upgrades And Trust Issues

Zia

Michael has to be comfortable. I have to be comfortable. Um, situations have to be good. So he said, you know, we won't go until we can afford now to go in first class. Okay. Just because he needs to be comfortable, or to pay the extra price to get like a certain seat on the plane. He has to be comfortable or he's not making it through the whole plane ride. Yeah. Right. Yeah.

Heather

Yeah.

Zia

Yeah. What about you guys?

Heather

I've always been economy because I've always been, like you said, get there the cheapest. Yay, we're there. Um, but um this is my second flight in two years to and from Florida in economy. And I went on like I think it was uh breeze last year. And this year I went on Delta, and I feel like there was not any extra leg room on Delta than there was on Breeze, which they claim there is more leg room on Delta. So I think I don't know if I'm gonna bump all the way up to like first class, but I think I'm gonna start looking at the business seats or the equivalent of the business seats. Yeah. Um because I I think my ailments are starting to, because I when we landed in Boston, I had a very hard time getting out of the seat. It was very hard to stand up, and then I still had to walk all of Logan, which was a long way to get to um Angela when she picked me up. So so I think I'm gonna start changing.

Zia

Gives us reasons to bitch. Yep, yep. I know it's like what even with my going to see my dad, I have to drive five hours, and I was really considering uh taking the train, but then my Charlie can't come with me, so I um it's it's up in the air. I'm I'm debating, you know, but I do like to take my Charlie and have her be with me there. She enjoys it and she gets to see her little puppy friends, so you know. Yep.

Heather

All right, you want to do the last one?

Zia

Yeah, so along those lines, um, do you do uh carry-on or do you check your bags?

Heather

I do carry-on. Um because it's easier for me than having to walk all the way down to the baggage claim and then out and then you know. Hey. So I prefer carry-on, it's faster.

Zia

Um, as a true Capricorn, I don't trust a lot of people. So I always want my stuff with me because I don't want anyone losing it or going through it, or I need my stuff with me. And if I get stranded, I want my stuff with me. Um so there wasn't there was an instance that we went to Las Vegas. We did a little shopping, and we had to check a bag because we needed to go buy one at Target to put some other stuff in it. So um Michael was like, well, what if I just put the stuff, you know, my stuff in that bag, you know, da-da-da. And then I won't have a bag or you won't have a bag. And I said, You can put your stuff in there because I am not getting rid of my bag. My bag's going on the plane with me. So you could pull my bag if you want. Well, I'm not nope, I don't care if you lose your stuff. I care if I lose my stuff. So he put all his stuff in Go ahead. No, he put all his stuff in the thing and checked the bag. Did he lose it? No, but I'm not chanting that.

Heather

So while you're telling the story, do you know what I was thinking? You could just buy a box, put it in a box and mail it.

Zia

You could, but I'm still trusting the mail system, and I don't trust that either.

Heather

Oh stop it.

Zia

I would prefer to bring like a little like if I really had to, I would prefer to pack a little bag with like uh like a weekender bag, maybe not even a pulley thing, and just rewash the clothes instead of bringing anything with me to lose on a plate.

Heather

All right, I'll give you that.

Zia

Yep. Plus, you know, it's like always like, oh, I got my medicine and I got this and I got that. And yeah, it's like, yeah, it's and it's funny because it's like, yeah, you can replace your clothes and you can replace the shoes and stuff like that. But there's certain things that I'm just like not, I'm I don't want to lose anything. So yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I get it. So I guess we're gonna have a lot of vacation little vibes right now because it's gonna be summertime and yeah, yeah. I like that. Yep.

Heather

And we'll have to figure out where we're going.

Zia

If you guys have any ideas for us, give them to us. Yeah, suggest some places. I know we have to get to our nightshade. We do yes, but I'm not counting that as a vacation. Okay, okay. That doesn't count. Not vacation. That doesn't count. Yeah. Yep. Or if anybody wants, you know, to put us on a nice

Trip Ideas Endorsements And Goodbye

Zia

podcast endorsement trip, that would be great.

Heather

We would advertise anything you wanted. Because if I don't want to advertise it, Zia will do it. Yes, yes, that's true.

Zia

Well, we'll see what it is. We'll see what it is.

Heather

All right, wait, we're not supposed to be laughing, we're bitching.

Zia

Oh, right, right. Right. That's true. But I w I can endorse the heck out of something. Facts.

Heather

Speaking of that, we're gonna go bitch ourselves away. We are. We are seeing bye. Bye.
