Do We Love That For You?
Our podcast is going to be explaining in “jersey words” the things we experience, products we use, people we encounter, and anything else we think of. Every episode will be different the only guarantee is that both Zia and Heather will be here.
Do We Love That For You?
Do We Love.... Anniversaries
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Anniversaries sound simple until you’re living inside the calendar, the fatigue, and the expectations. We’re closing out the season by getting honest about what we actually enjoy: low key traditions, skipping the restaurant spotlight, and choosing something that feels like us instead of something that looks “correct.” That includes the most important anniversary plan of all, a hot fudge sundae, plus a spirited debate about what makes an ice cream sundae truly great.
From there, we zoom out to the everyday stuff that makes a relationship work. We talk square dancing on anniversary weekend, co op PlayStation nights we literally call “let’s go play divorce,” and why a shared hobby can reveal communication habits fast. We also hit the comfort of nostalgia TV, the chaos of pets and mornings gone sideways, and the way lack of sleep can spill into everything, including a night derailed by smoke alarms and the strange feeling that our sleep schedules sync up.
We also get practical about work-life balance and self care, especially the reality of never taking lunch at work. We share tactics that can actually help, like accountability lunches, easy meal prep ideas, and setting up a simple lockbox system so you’re not hauling everything back and forth. Finally, we jump into Iceland travel planning and end with a round of Would You Rather questions that tap straight into millennial and Gen X nostalgia.

Hello, Season Finale, Anniversaries
ZiaGood morning. Good morning.
HeatherWell, is it a good morning? I don't know.
ZiaWelcome to another episode. I don't even put the date on the episode. That's okay. I welcome to episode 36.
Heather36.
ZiaThe last one of this season.
HeatherIt is, yes, yes. Dun dun dun. So oh, look who's visiting. Always, always. So I said that's your cat.
ZiaOh, Dagney.
HeatherToday's episode is called Do We Love Anniversaries. Anniversaries. So last week one of us had an anniversary. And this one of us has an anniversary. Yes. Actually, tomorrow. Tomorrow, yeah. Yeah. And you were so good. You were Wednesday. Yep. So we figured we would make today's topic anniversaries. Anniversaries, yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. So we're two officially. So this
Gift Traditions And Year Themes
Heatheryear is China.
ZiaOh.
HeatherI think we're going to China. We're going to Iceland. So. Right. Are you are you buying any China? I got him nothing. Actually, I bought him a poncho. And that looks like China. And a swim shirt. And yeah. For Iceland. Yes. I'm on 33, so um I bought nothing except a card. What is 33? Wait, what's what's 33? Um, I did read what it was. Um remember. No, I don't remember. But I wasn't buying I I wasn't buying that. Iron. Yeah, what the hell? He could iron. I mean, I could show him the iron. Iron an iron? I could show him a iron instead of buying him iron the you know element, but I mean you could also get like a flat iron or an iron on. I could show him how to iron on things or I flat iron my hair, maybe. I don't know. I don't know, my hair's pretty straight. I was gonna say that. You flat ironing is such a funny concept as I'm sitting here trying to make my curls not frizz. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh yeah. Oh man. So yeah, we so um did celebrate our anniversaries with our husbands, but through you and me. Right, we did, we did. I told Michael that I wanted to go out for ice cream. That was like the one thing I wanted to do. I just I hate doing the whole restaurant thing, and you know, if they know it's a special occasion, then they go all cuckoo, and I can't deal with it. Yeah, I can't deal with it. So um
Ice Cream Sundaes Over Fancy Dinners
HeatherI said, you know, I just want to go out for ice cream, like to our local, you know, place, which is Guptals, and we I've you know, it's my stomping ground also when I was younger. But uh yeah, so um we went for ice cream, um and uh I you said that you were gonna join me with Sundays. Well, no, that is not what you said. You said I told Michael I want an ice cream ice cream and you said Sunday, and I was like, oh my gosh, my mouth just immediately watered for an ice cream sundae. Yeah, I definitely was prepared for an ice cream sundae, and I woofed that thing down so quick that I forgot to take a picture. You did, you sent me the empty bowl, and I sent you my full bowl. Yeah, but I was like, done. I sent Rich to the store to get ice cream sundae makings, and he looked at me and he goes, Okay, he goes, vanilla or chocolate. I said, Yes. He said, whipped cream, I go, yes. He goes, hot fudge, I go, yes. He goes, and I said, and don't forget the cherry. Yeah, and it's funny because I told you that I got my hot fudge sundae. You did now you can tell, and we talked about this. Oh, you can tell when a person loves eating ice cream and when they don't, as to how they make your sundae at the ice cream place. This girl was not into my sundae. Um, she had all of the hot fudge on the bottom, she had all the ice cream on the top of that, and then it was a cloud of just whipped cream on the top. Yeah, no cherry, no cherry. Yep. So I was like, look at all this whiteness on the top of my sundae. It was just pure white ice cream with white cloud on top. I had to dig to the bottom to get the fudge. Oh yeah, yeah, but uh needless to say, um making a dent in my Sunday was definitely there's there's lack of words there because I ate that in like five seconds flat, and it was the bigger Sunday. So yep.
ZiaYeah.
HeatherSo we had the Sunday with you, and then the next night we had a Sunday, and then yeah, yeah, but I enjoyed that. I was like, oh my god, I forgot to send Heather the picture of my Sunday. I was getting worried too because I knew couples was closed, and I'm like, I don't have a picture yet, and then a few minutes later it popped in, but yeah, we went a little late. We went a little late because Michael didn't remember on his own that I wanted to go for the Sunday. Uh so you know Zia had to come out and be like, excuse me, excuse me, ice cream are we going for the ice cream part of the festivities? So for our anniversary,
Square Dancing On Anniversary Weekend
Heatherum, you know, we go to square dance. Yes, and um oh hold on, I gotta go to Do Not Disturb because you know 8,000 messages from the VA. Yes, yes, for whenever I'm doing something. Right. Um, anyway. Um so we were at Square Dance on Wednesday, and um we have a friend that's a couple, and they want us to go to all these dances with them. And they were like, there's a dance on Sunday, it's this really great caller, you'll love them. Oh god. Um, so I'm like, Yeah, let's go. So we get home, and I'm talking to Rich about it, and he's like, Sunday's your anniversary, and I'm like, Well, the good thing is is we're going out to dinner with them after. Oh my god, what did he say? He just he it's Rich. What did he say? He just sighed and moved on. Yeah, yeah. So apparently I forgot, and we're going to a dance from two to four in the afternoon, and then we're gonna go out to dinner with friends. With friends, and then we're coming home. We're doing great with our anniversaries, we're doing great. We're just doing I mean, wait, last year we didn't even see each other on our anniversary. Right, okay because he moved in on our anniversary, and then I moved out here on the fourth. Yeah, yeah. So, I mean, yeah, at least we're gonna be together this year. Yep, sorta. Definitely, yes, there's been plenty of anniversaries apart um in this household uh due to military. Yep. Um, and traveling, actually, because after he left the military, he was traveling for GE and all of his computer companies he worked for. So there's been plenty of uh the missing during Yeah. Yep. I get that. Yep. One year he gave me like all these cards, birthday, anniversary, whatever cards, and he just threw them on the bed, and there was like a ton of cards just on the bed, and he's like, I think that covers what I've missed over the years. And I was like, I feel like it should be more. I feel like there's more. Oh thank goodness, that's awesome. Yep, I was like, I feel like there should be more, but yeah, I think so. Yep. Sure, we're good. Too funny. So I know this isn't on our list, but I'm gonna bring it up anyway because it's funny. So absolutely we have talked about, and you said Star and Leon play it, but the the co-op PlayStation games.
ZiaYes.
HeatherSo we started the one that they were playing because we played the one that they had first for the same company, and now we're doing it was it takes two, and I don't remember what the name of this one is, but okay, we're now doing this one, but we don't
Co Op Games That Test Patience
Heathersay, you know, let's go play that game, we say let's go play divorce. That's great. Because I can't imagine like unstable couples being able to play this game and not fight.
ZiaYeah, yeah.
HeatherBecause, like, for example, yesterday when we were playing, and that's what I was doing when you were texting me, yeah, um, from the the skirt, um but I we were playing, so I couldn't answer you because we were in the middle of this funny battle. But so what this one section was was he had to jump on a flow on a mushroom and it would make the flower that was next to it shoot out this little like fairy dust, and I had to jump in the fairy dust and it would shoot me across to another flower. He had to jump across and jump on that mushroom to send me over to another flower on it, and he had to do that like three times. Oh and then when he was done, when I was on my way up to the landing to get to, yeah, he had to pull down the uh tree branch. Obviously, we were gonna he was a monkey and I am a fairy. I love it in this scenario. We change you change right bodies frequently in this game. Sure. But we must have smashed me into this tree branch about 75 times before he realized that he needed to pull down on the um branch. Oh my god. Okay, a space drive like uh air driving, like the Jetsons. Yeah, and I had to weave through bombs, and I was hitting tankers and not the bombs, but I would hit the tankers and the wall and the roof and the buildings. And you're still celebrating your anniversary. And we're still celebrating that's our typical Friday, Friday evening. We don't get into the night with it, but that's our typical Friday. Very cool is we play divorce and it's it's cool because and we'll play it until one of us starts to get frustrated, and then it's like, why don't you yeah. We we are actually we've been watching um the old Roseanne. Oh yeah and and I like as things were happening, like Becky and Darlene were our age, and when we were when I was
Roseanne Nostalgia And Real Life Chaos
Heatherfirst watched it watching it, it was with my mom, uh Joyce, and I was like, why is she smoking a cigarette right now? But just put the damn thing out. Sorry, just just put it. Oh, oh, she got attacked, she got attacked. She just literally sprang across the room on me. Yeah, sorry, everybody. So she, you know, she would always look at me and be like, Are you smoking? And I'm like, No. And she's like, Okay. Or like if they had relations, they'd be like, Are you do we need to have that talk? And I was like, No. And I'm like, why are they doing all the things I'm doing? Why why can you just shut the hell up? Like, why is this show going along the way? And um, it was just funny how that had happened, and I was like, Oh my god, can you two stop doing things that I'm doing? You need to stop putting me on a pedestal spotlight. Right, right. You know, I get those like lances, and like, are you smoking? Um, of course I am. I have like three packs in my room, but no. Naughty. Yeah, yeah. Well, yeah, all those things. There was a time. There was a time, you know. I'm always rebellious. I don't know. So when we were doing our planning meeting, yeah, which really didn't happen. It almost never happens actually. No, we have fun doing our planning meeting, but it's our meeting. Yeah, it is. We started talking about you taking lunch, which you never seem to get. And I know this firsthand because I've been there. And so we were trying to come up with ways for you to eat lunch. Yep. Um, I'm actually supposed to have a meeting with my friend Sarah because her schedule is a little bit like mine in a different way. Um, and she was like, maybe we could try to get lunch, you know, together
Why Lunch Never Happens At Work
Heatherand hold each other accountable. Um I tried it with Chrissy last year, but Chrissy had to go a certain time, and you know, I just I couldn't align with her time or have I'd see her go and I was doing something. Right. So I couldn't I couldn't do that. Right. Um, so we're we're supposed to get together and try to figure out a good time to do lunch. Okay. Um, I mean, I've been there now ten years. This will be in September, I'm starting my 11th year at the school. Um and I think I've gotten lunch three times within that time period. Nice. So because if I would sub, you could take a lunch. A lot of times. If you could sub for not me. No. Like if I sub in the office, you would go. Uh I I would not go, though. I Yeah. You didn't go? No, I would go get go to the cafeteria, but when I go to the cafeteria, I'm there for kids. Yeah. So I walk out and then that's that's it. I can't. And then it's kind of funny because when I walk out, or if I try to walk out, I know when I come back, I hear people say, Oh, you gotta go right away to that because it's been going on for like like I feel like they hold the situation until I get back. Nobody really solves the situation. It just keeps going. So I you know that has to be fixed too. What do you call those people who hold the sticks for the for the doll? Yeah, the marionettes. There you go. Yeah, puppeteers. There you go. I guess I'm the pup. I guess I'm the puppeteer of the marionettes. Yes. Can I just tell you she drew blood? Oh my god. I have blood on my leg. Well, that's because you told her to get away. When we first started, you told her to get away. Yep.
ZiaReally good.
HeatherWe are having a morning, people. We are just having a morning. My microphone wasn't working, then my headset didn't want to cook on. I don't know. We're not having a good morning. Yeah. Well, we're both lacking sleep this morning, though. Both of us are lacking sleep. Let's jump ahead. Yeah, go ahead. We'll go back to lunches. We're gonna jump. We'll go back to the lunches, yes. Blood on my leg. There's like five patches of blood on my leg. Jesus. I don't even know where she is now. I I literally threw her, she bounced off the eating box. So Rich came to bed at about 2 a.m. because he had a deployment he had to do.
ZiaYeah.
HeatherAnd he said to me this morning at one of the times when we were awake after 2 a.m.
Smoke Alarms, Bad Sleep, Shared Cycles
HeatherHe said, I was done with my part at like 11. So he's like, I don't know.
ZiaTerrible.
HeatherI was like, oh, and you didn't get to bed till two? And he's like, yep. So I didn't, I wasn't awake when you got to bed.
ZiaYeah.
HeatherBut I woke up shortly after he got to bed because smoke alarms went off in our house. Every one of them. And just hitting the reset on one is supposed to clear all of them unless there's a problem. So it wouldn't clear. So now we're running around the house trying to find the problem. There is no problem. So Rich removed, I think, two, maybe three of them. I just kept running between two of them and hitting the reset button and reset the one in her room. And then we had to get a ladder to reach the one or the step stool to reach the one in the stairwell.
ZiaYeah.
HeatherAnd so that was 3:30. By the time we got that done, it was 10.04. So my God. I just made coffee. Yeah. And I couldn't get back to bed after around that time. Um, Michael came to bed late, but um, I just was tossing and turning all night uh to that point. And then I looked at my watch and I was like, oh my god, it's 4 30. I was like, and I was I was fully awake at 4 30. Like I was like, you know, I got and I was counting in bed. I was like, what time did I go to bed? I was like, oh my god, it's only five hours of sleep. Why am I this awake? I was like, I should not be this awake at five hours into sleep. And they say, you know, you should probably just get up, and I should have probably just got up and did what I had to do. Cause then I went I fell asleep for about 20 minutes, and then I had the worst like little crappy dream. Yep. And you know, you know, off on a sleep cycle. Yeah. So you're like, I should have just got I I just have to get up when that happens. I that's what I typically do. Yeah, I just have to do it, and I'm always like, oh no, I want to sleep more. But what we were talking about with this is that I don't know what Heather ever goes through on her end, and she doesn't know what I'm going through on my end. Correct. The sleepless nights that we do have, or I get a really good night's sleep and you don't, or I vice versa, and it just happens like that. So the sleep dependency on each other's schedule is without knowing, yeah, is true. Like we we are attached somehow through our sleep cycles. Well, I remember you saying it was a month or two ago, you woke up in a really bad dream where we were like fighting people, yeah. Yeah, she was she said, well, like all anxious and rare and to go. And and I'm like, I don't even know why, but I'm like I'm hyped. And then that happened with me. I forget what it was, and I was like, Oh, it's your fault. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, that was like a couple of weeks later. So yeah, we're noticing that we have very big sleep dependencies. So this morning when we got on the on the recording studio, Z is like, I did not sleep well, and I'm like, Oh, I got up at three. So I think you and I'm like, all right, let's go. I should have just woke up and texted you. We should just start doing that. Yeah. I mean, we're doing we're still doing we're still doing it for our storms, uh, our rainstorms. We should do them with our sleep schedules. Yep. Should oh my goodness, yeah. And this has been this this isn't a new thing though. I mean, we we noticed that very early on in our friendship that that was a pattern that was going on. Yeah. Yep. I don't know what it is, but it just happens. It it does, and and I'm okay with it. At least it gives me an excuse. Oh, he had a good night's sleep. Well then I didn't. I know. Oh, yeah, and then we do.
ZiaYeah.
HeatherOh god. Back to lunches. Back to lunches. So I've been buying some little gadgets and stuff to prepare myself for school. I bought a lockbox,
Lunch Prep Hacks And Easy Recipes
Heatherso I'm trying to bring less to work in my backpack. So explain the lockbox. The lockboxes, because you're not going to be able to do it. Lock boxes, you watch certain meds. If I have little emergencies at work, um, I usually have a bag with me that I tote back and forth all the time, uh, with all these little meds that I need in it. And Heather actually said, Why don't you just get a little lockbox and keep it at work? And I'm like, perfect idea. So I This little lockbox from uh Amazon and I mean we're not talking like controlled substances, we're talking like Tylenol, aspirin. Right. I mean, I work in an elementary school. I mean, right. I mean, we're not talking like drugs she can't have on. Like I like I also have like my insulin, like that I need to lock up. Um, those things. And you know, if the nurse had them, she has to lock them up. So I should be locking them up also. If they're not in my backpack, I should probably be locking them up. So, you know, I'm gonna put my Motrin in there, you know, my insulin, I'm gonna, you know, my my regular prescription meds if I do need like my nauseous medicine, stuff like that. Right, it's not meds with body. I do not have to bring it back and forth every day, and that's one less bag in my backpack I have to bring. Right. So I got the little lockbox, um, I got another little uh container for my meds. Uh that way I don't have to bring each bottle like big huge motion bottle, a big, you know. Um, but yeah, so I've been trying to do that. Then I was looking up recipes as to what I could do for lunch. So I did try, we tried one for dinner. Actually, Heather joined my cooking show. I love cooking show. And it was like a chicken burrito. By the way, that was like that was part of our planning meeting. Yep, yep. Um, and the chicken burrito thing turned out to be a hit in the house. Oh, everybody liking it? Oh, everybody loved it. I had uh five extras after we ate dinner. So everybody was eating them yesterday. Right. So apparently, going back for seconds, I'm like, okay, uh, they really liked it. Yep. Um, which we said while we're I was cooking it, I said, oh, I could actually just do this as a dip. Just eat it with chips too. So I, you know, two options for that for lunch. Um, I did make the salad, um, it was like a beet salad. And now that it was delicious, but I think now that I made it, I want to like adjust it to the things that I like in it. I don't like everything in it together, so I'm I gotta fool around with that. But I'm trying, I'm trying all these new little things to see if if I'm going to eat it for a lunch. So the mindset is there to get a lunch this year. Yep. Um, this almost every year. I try it almost every year. Yep. Yep. And I think one of the teachers last was it last year or the year before? I think it was the year before, I was planning to sit outside when it was good weather. Just sit outside, because we have a little picnic table outside. Yeah. And I was like, you know what? I'm gonna just sit outside, and then people can see that I'm actually eating lunch. And then I a door opened. And somebody's like, I like this for you. And I was like, Oh, that's really nice. Somebody acknowledged that I'm actually getting lunch, and they were like, I like this for you. This is good, you should do this, take your time. And then my husband had said something to me, which Zia always like, don't don't screw with my money, okay? And um, he said, Well, if you don't take a lunch, you're working for free. And I'm like, son of a bitch. That is excitement. I'm like, God damn it, I gotta, I gotta fix this. And so now every time that I've been preparing to get a lunch, I'm like, I'm I'm I'm freaking working for free. Because I go in almost every day, I go in a half an hour early. So for a whole hour, I'm basically working for free. And you leave early a lot of days. You leave a half hour early, but that's not making sense. Yeah, because I don't get a lunch. Yeah. And that's not gonna be as easy to do this year in the beginning, anyway, because you have the new person in the office. That's right. Yeah. And well, you know, I'm
Medical Appointments And Surgery Doubts
Heatherstill waiting for my stupid freaking appointment. Um, they called me again and they said, Hey, you know that appointment that we re-gave you? Yeah, we got canceled at. And then you have to drive to Albany now for an appointment. Um, other than that, they would have had me out here um in September. And I'm like, You can't do September. I I don't understand what's happening. Like, I nobody wants to tell me what they want to do with my MRI results. I don't know. Maybe that's telling you something. Yeah, maybe I just shouldn't do it. Maybe, maybe I should not have the surgery. If if they say it, um maybe that's a cue that I should not have it. You know, I watched uh a YouTube this morning. It was a it was uh like a police body cam. Okay. It was actually somebody evaluating a police body cam. Got it. Oh and and this 58-year-old woman had a shoulder replacement. Okay, and she was apparently served a warrant for stealing a package off the neighbor's porch.
ZiaOkay.
HeatherThree years ago.
ZiaOkay.
HeatherBut she didn't. This is like a after the fact. Like the lawyers didn't steal it, it was returned to the person, it was just delivered to the wrong house. They were on vacation, then they were on vacation. It took her a couple of weeks to return it, and but at the interim, the lady filed a report, and so she had a warrant that she didn't even know she had.
ZiaGreat.
HeatherSo, whatever the reason was, they served this warrant on her, and she had just had rotator cuff surgery. Uh, no, I'm sorry, a shoulder replacement.
ZiaOkay.
HeatherAnd she told the cops, you know, can you please cuff me in the front because I just had a shoulder replacement. And they didn't, and they ended up tearing her brand new rotator cuff. So maybe you not getting an appointment is somebody's way of saying, you know, don't tear your rotator cuff. Yeah, don't. I don't know. Yeah, don't go into surgery. Right. Yeah. I know I have to also, um, I'm going to uh my GI uh next month, and that is for my new endoscopy. And because everything is like so chaotic with this hip problem and the doctor, I'm really like, maybe I will just do the endoscopy, and then we will revisit the hip problem next year because two things at once. Yes, I'm very scared now that this is so chaotic. Do you really know what you're gonna do with my hip? You know, will it be the right hip? No, the left hip. No, no, it's the I know. I know it is the right hip. Yeah, it is the right hip. And it's like will you be doing it on the left? It wouldn't have been funny if I said no. But yeah, I'll be like the ones with the scars, that's the one you're doing it on again. Oh man. So are you packing? Are you packing? Sure. Sure. So we are loading
Iceland Packing And Trip Planning
Heatheror we are checking a bag, and then we are taking a bag. Love it. And then Angela is taking a wheelie bag. Rich and I are gonna share a wheelie bag and share a check bag, and Angela's gonna put like her shampoo and all that kind of stuff in the check bag, and then I'll have a backpack. Um CPAP, you know, for the sleep sleep apnea. And um, and then I'm gonna bring my cane because I'm not sure how much walking we're gonna do. But the funnier part of this is um I I I I wanted to plan this a long time ago, and everybody told me to not, and that we were gonna just wing it, and I I it would be okay. And then Saturday when we were at Nicole's house, everybody's asking me if we're planning everything, and I'm like, no, because nobody wanted me to plan. Yeah, we were winging it. We're winging it. So Monday we had booked. Well, Rich had Rich did do the puffin' and whale tour.
ZiaOkay.
HeatherAbout a month. And did you have to do anything for the eclipse thingy? Or no, so Ariel's Airbnb is right in the eclipse zone.
ZiaOkay.
HeatherSo what we're gonna do on Eclipse Day is um Ariel's Airbnb is about two hours from us. So we're two hours from everything.
ZiaOkay.
HeatherSo Ariel is right in the the capital of Reykjavik, and we're two hours south and east of that. And then um, so everything we want to do, we have to travel to, but it makes it easier when we're traveling because not everything we want to do is in the capital. We want to see other states and stuff that are out in the island or in the country, and it's right, otherwise, it would make a simple drive to go. For example, we want to go see some of the waterfalls. Oh some of the waterfalls are three and four hours from Reykjavik. So we would drive four hours, see the waterfall, then drive back four hours. Where now we're gonna we're driving an extra two, but it's you know, it's it's closer and and and easier.
ZiaYeah.
HeatherBut uh but yeah, so I planned us um the waterfall that we're gonna go see is actually free. Um good, okay. We have to pay to park. Apparently in Iceland, the it's kind of like US. You pay to park at attractions, yeah, like like uh country attractions. Yep, yeah. Um so we have to pay to park, but once we're there, the the waterfall's free. Um we are not going to the blue lagoon, the big official tourist, because I found one that has everything that the blue lagoon has for almost half price.
ZiaYeah.
HeatherThe only thing we're missing is the crystal blue water. Okay, well, I'm like, I could do without that. I could I could get a cup of blue color coloring for everybody.
ZiaYeah.
HeatherUm, so I got the tickets to the lagoon and I got tickets for us to go horseback riding on one of the black sand beaches.
ZiaI love that. Yeah.
HeatherSo I'm super excited about that. I've never seen a black sand beach. So you'd have to take a picture of that for me. Oh, 100%. Um, actually, I want to reach out to Alec, Eliza's boyfriend, and um see if he's gonna bring his GoPro because he has one and I have one.
ZiaOkay.
HeatherAnd maybe we could do a bunch of GoPro stuff together. Um, so and then I registered us with the government for travel. Um, Iceland obviously has no travel restrictions. Um, yeah, obviously. Um, they the it's actually a level one, which means you have to watch out for pickpocketers and petty theft. Okay. I'm like, okay, I will watch that in Iceland. But I can't imagine, you know, much beyond that. That takes a lot of effort for them. I mean, you're in a heavy coat. I mean, that takes a lot. Yeah, yeah, the temperature there is gonna be in the 50s. Yeah, it's like kudos. If you're pickpocketed in a coat like that, or yeah, you go. You yeah, yeah. So otherwise, we're pretty ready. So, with that said, reminder, we'll remind you at the end of the episode as well. We are recording early, so when we we're gonna put out our five-minute loves, yeah, probably I'm gonna do it Monday because I think we agreed we were recording on Thursday. Yes, yes, um, so that Rich has time to get it up, yeah. And um, then next week, Z is in or the following week, Z is in control. So good luck to have some fun. But with that ask me any questions, ask me any questions. That's right. Good luck. Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock.
ZiaTick tock.
HeatherAll right, you can open it now. Okay, go ahead. So we gave everybody free reign this week. And Nicole was the only one who answered, and that's okay. Yeah, that's okay.
Would You Rather And Millennial Flashbacks
HeatherWould you rather? So, being as we didn't get a lot, I decided to throw a bunch up for Zia. Yeah, and she told me don't read it. So these are all gonna be new, but we'll do Nicole's first. Yes. Nicole said, Would you rather change the past or see into the future? Um, hmm. That's a good question. I I don't know about that. What do you what do you would you say? Well, the past made me who I am. Right. Yeah. That's what I'm thinking. So I'm gonna say I there's some things I would love to change in my past, but I don't know if I would be me if I changed it. So I'm gonna say see the future. Yeah, I was I was thinking along those lines. Um uh but like you said, it wouldn't be me. I wouldn't be me. Right. Um, and there's certain there's a lot of things in my past that people probably think I should regret and I don't. So I I I definitely don't want to change those. Um, but yeah, I guess I would rather see into the future. Yeah, yeah. All right. Yep, yep. All right, so you ready? Oh I got I'm ready. All right, accidentally FaceTiming someone or liking a five-year-old photo while stalking someone.
ZiaOh god. You should say no. No, I'll I'll do the accidentally.
HeatherI would have posted it. See, this is what she does to me. This is what she does to me. She's like, don't look. And then I'm like, what the fuck? Um I'm gonna accidentally FaceTime somebody because yeah. Yeah, I will accidentally FaceTime someone. Yeah, yeah. I mean too. Because I I whenever somebody old likes a photo of mine, I'm like, why'd you do that? And then I find myself stalking them and then stalking their friends. Yeah, yeah, no. I don't want to accidentally like a photo of a five-year-old. No. A five-year-old no, I'm not it's not a five-year-old, it's a five-year-old photo. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That you're looking at. Yeah, no, I'll I'll I'll accidentally FaceTime someone. Yeah, I and I I have done that. Actually, it was funny. I was outside um like less like last week or something, and I was texting with um my sister-in-law, Alexandra, my mom, and Eliza. We were talking about a book that we had read together, and we were all hoping there would be a third book in this sequel. And I looked for no reason, and I'm sitting outside in the bright sunshine, and I look, and there's the third book out. So I quickly took a screenshot and I sent it to everybody, and I'm like, oh my gosh, the third book is coming. Yeah. And um, and instead of clearing the message, I hit FaceTime. So I FaceTimed all three of us, or all of everybody. Too funny. Everybody answered, and I'm like, yeah, I'm in the sun, I can't see what I'm doing, so I'm just hanging out, and we hung up. That's funny. Yeah. All right. Next one, you ready? Yes, go ahead. Rewinding with a pencil or blowing into a game cartridge. Oh, I'll I'll take the blowing into the game cartridge because rewinding with a pencil takes fucking forever. No, I'm all about rewinding. Uh no, yeah. The quicker, the quicker would be good for Zia. Yes, let's do the quickest. All right. Hey. Columbia House, 12 CDs for a penny, uh, or wandering around Blockbuster Friday night. Ah, come on. Nope. Both of them took a both of them took a hard amount of my my time. Um all right, I'm gonna go with the 12 CDs for a penny because um that took a lot of thought on my part, and I really studied that guide to make sure it was something that I really needed. Um yeah. Uh, yeah, I I it took days sometimes for me to go back and be like, is that really what I want? Is that really what I want? Um, one of the Gen X guys that I follow, and I'll try to tag him because of that. He has a shirt that says Gen Xers realized about um debt and uh bankruptcy or something or whatever due to Columbia House. Yeah, I'll have to tag him because of that. Yes, yep, yes, that's what about you? Um I would do the the so back, I don't do movies anymore. And that makes Rich very sad, but um, but I I I did love browsing Blockbuster. So I'm gonna go with Blockbuster, which is gonna like make Rich as soon as he hears it, he's gonna come out and be like, what? But no, with the caveat that I I yeah. Yeah. Well, I'll tell you a funny quick story about Blockbuster. Every time Michael and I, when we were dating, went to Blockbuster to pick a movie out that my parents were gonna watch with us, it always seemed like every time that happened, because we were talking while we were picking out movies, right? And then it's like we saw that, we saw that, we saw that. Let's just get this one. Yeah, we go home and it was filled with sex scenes that we had to sit and watch with my parents sitting behind us, and I'm like, why do we do this to ourselves? Why is there so many sex scenes on the show that we pick? Okay, I'm not trying to be like a me too person, but our first date, both girls were at youth group at church. Yeah. And we went back to my house to watch Friends with Benefits. Oh god. And I think we both knew what the movie was about, but I don't think we knew it was how benefit it was. So that was our first actual date was Friends with Benefits. So Love it. I love that for both of us. Yes, yes, yes, all right, two more, you ready? Right? Hot flashes in the winter or hot flashes in the summer. Neither have hot flash. No, I I get like a warm area in my back um when it's my metopause month versus my period month. Um, so I get this like overwhelming, she just keeps laughing. We'll talk about that one day. Um so there's like this just over like I'm gonna blow up feeling in the middle of my back, and that is it. Yeah, I know, but that's that's all I get. Yeah, that's all I get is that. And it could be because, you know, I have one month one thing and one month the other, and that is like all that I'm getting. But that is about it, and then I'm like, well, that was freaking annoying. And I'm always cold anyway, so I feel a little benefit from getting a little hotter than that. Can I tell you how much I hate you some days? She just would not stop laughing as I'm like, this month, this month. Yeah, no, I I don't want hot flashes ever. Yeah. But if I had to pick honestly, hot flashes in the summer aren't as bad because you're already hot. Okay. All right. So it's just hotter. Yeah, yeah. I mean, that you can't all right. And I guess it would be better because you're saying, Oh, it's so hot outside. And it's hot. It's you're already hot. I mean, right. Um, but it's hard in the winter because you know you get the hot flash in the winter and you're stripping down your clothes and then you're sweating, and then you can freeze. So maybe in the winter is worse because then you can get, you know, potential hypothermia.
ZiaYes.
HeatherYes, yes. All right, the last one, you ready? Okay, yep, ready. Would you rather have skin that changes color based on your emotions? Sorry. Or tattoos that appear depleting what you did yesterday. Oh Jesus. Good lord. I I have tattoos and I'm all for my tattoos, but I don't know if it would be good if I had them changing to depict what I did the day before. Because that could be really bad. That could be a really bad thing. Having your skin change color based on your emotions. I mean, that's like RBF on your body. I mean, I feel like I do that anyway. It minus the colors. People know exactly what I'm thinking as I'm walking down the hallway. Um, they literally are like, oh, that's not good. Or, you know, oh, she's on a mission. I I don't know. I'm reflecting that somehow, whether it's my face or my body. Um, yeah. Yeah, I'm trying to think of what color. I mean, I would remain red all freaking time. I'd just be angry all the time. I'd be like red hulk. Yes, but think about it at home. I'd be red hulk. I'd be red hulk. The ice cream is looking better all the time. Yeah, yeah. Um, I guess when the when the family, the kids would come over with the grandbabies, I'd be like red with like a hue of purple or blue or you know, happy color, rainbow-ish colors. But yeah, I would remain red all the time. I'd just be red all the time. Red Hulk. Not green Hulk. I'd be red hulk. Alright. Yeah. Yeah, I don't I don't know about that tattoo thing. I feel like I would do the tattoo thing because you can you can yeah, because I actually hide my emotions a lot of times. Yeah, but what if you couldn't? Well that's what I'm saying. Yeah. Right. If I couldn't hide my emotions, then people would know when I'm sitting there thinking that they're assholes.
ZiaYeah, yeah.
HeatherI need I I I like being able to not necessarily let everybody know exactly what I'm thinking or how I'm feeling. Yeah. I mean, don't tell my counselor that she'll go tattle on me. Oh god. I love it. No, I'm going with the tattoos. Okay. Okay. So my tattoos are just gonna tattle and you're just gonna be red. I'm just gonna be red. That's a good one. I love that. See, I love when she does this to me. She knows when she's gonna get me. But think about this in two weeks, you have to do something like this. I know, I know. This could be great. You guys are in trouble. I was gonna say that I'm a little bit scared. Yeah. I don't have to do a lot of prep. I'm just gonna pop in and
Downloads, Listener Prompts, Goodbye
Heatherbe here. Yeah, I gotta add the date because that's really honestly tweaking me out. Yes, yes, yes. There we go. But we're on to a new season. So oh, and we've got 1,075 downloads. Oh, check us out, man. Check us out. We are awesome people. You guys are awesome people. Yeah, yep. Thank you so much. All right. Remember, we're recording early, so get those five-minute loves into us.
ZiaAbsolutely.
