Helping High Achievers Find Balance: Meet Michelle Palacios of Life Revised Therapy

Michelle Palacios Episode 1

Meet The Host: Michelle Palacios, Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor And Founder Of Life Revised Therapy

What if the strongest person in the room is carrying the heaviest hidden load? We sit down with licensed therapist Michelle Palacios, founder of Life Revised Therapy, to unpack why high achievers and perfectionists often feel stuck despite looking successful on the surface—and how a clear, humane plan can change everything.

Michelle walks us through her grounded, research-supported approach: a free 15-minute consult to clarify goals, a deep-dive first session to map patterns, and a practical treatment plan rooted in cognitive and behavioral strategies. We explore the beliefs that fuel anxiety and over functioning, like “I can’t let anyone down,” and show how small, repeatable behavioral wins—sleep routines, boundary scripts, micro-habits—turn insight into progress. If you’ve ever been “great at work, lost at relationships” or found it hard to ask for what you need, you’ll hear tools to bridge that gap with less stress and more intention.

We also talk about trust and access. Many clients find Michelle through word of mouth and community relationships with doctors and local partners, which helps reduce the friction of getting started. Beyond the techniques, Michelle shares the deeper why behind her work: helping the “strong ones” drop the armor, feel seen, and build balance that lasts. The result isn’t perfection—it’s sustainability, where self-worth is steady and life choices align with values.

SPEAKER_02:

How's it going today, Michelle?

SPEAKER_01:

It's going great. I'm excited to be here. How about you?

SPEAKER_02:

Yes, it's been going well for me too, and I'm so excited to have you on as well to be doing this with you. Now, over the years, I know you've grown a remarkable following. However, some listeners might not be familiar with your full journey. Let's take it from the top. Could we start off by sharing a little bit about your background about your company and what you do?

SPEAKER_01:

Sure. I'm a licensed therapist in Texas. I work with people virtually. They tend to be people who are a bit type A, perfectionistic, really hard on themselves. So I help them to find a better balance in life, whatever that means for them.

SPEAKER_02:

Wow, that's amazing. Kara, to elaborate a little bit deeper on that.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. So when I meet with a client, usually we'll start with a 15-minute phone call. I kind of get to know what they're wanting to work on, what their goals are. And then from there, once we schedule that initial session, we go really deep and we really get good clarification on what the problems are that they're dealing with, what their goals are, and we develop a really in-depth treatment plan that's based on researched supported interventions. Usually it's cognitive and behavioral. So we'll work a little bit on your belief systems, but also on how you conduct yourself throughout your day to help you to be able to reach those goals a little bit easier. And then we'll usually meet weekly and we spend a lot of time talking about kind of what's going on, talking about how somebody feels, but also coming up with some solutions to be able to get them exactly what they want. A lot of people are stuck when they come to see me. So they might know what they want, but they might not know how to get there. So we create a roadmap to get them there.

SPEAKER_02:

So, Michelle, switching gears for a second, we know marketing is key to any business's success. How are you currently marketing your business?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, well, the podcast, I guess, would be one of them. But I also have several social media accounts. I have some relationships with some doctors in the area and some other businesses. But the majority of the way that I market is really through word of mouth. So a lot of the clients that reach me have been friends with or know other clients who've had success with me.

SPEAKER_02:

So, Michelle, when you're not busy running your business, what do you like to do for fun?

SPEAKER_01:

So I'm a I'm a little bit of an introvert. So I'm a big homebody. I love to garden and to cook and spend time with my family, but I've also been learning how to engage more in my community and being able to create more relationships to help other people to connect. I think our world needs some more of that. So I've been working on different ways to volunteer and create that as well.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh wow, that's really amazing. Now, Michelle, I know you're a very busy person and certainly it sounds like it. In your own words, why are you doing this?

SPEAKER_01:

I think the majority of therapists probably have the same answer, right? We want to help people. And so that's really how I started in this. I when I was very young, I realized through reading books like Chicken Soup for the Soul that there's people who are struggling quietly and you might not know it on the surface. And little things that you can do can have a positive impact on their lives. And that was really impactful for me, learning that growing up. So as I created a career, I wanted to make sure that I was able to create that same kind of impact in people's lives. And then as I've been doing this over the years, I've learned that really it's the strong ones, the ones that put on a tough front. Sometimes they may be very successful on the outside, but on the inside, they're really struggling, and that's hard for them to admit. And a lot of times things for them come very easily, except like their career may come easy, but their relationship is really hard. Or they may be really good at one thing, but they struggle to express themselves or ask for what they want or what they need. And so as I've done therapy with people like this, I've learned that they kind of need it the most, right? They're there for everybody else, and they need someone who's going to be there for them as well. And learn to be able to balance those things too. So it's sustainable to help other people.

SPEAKER_02:

Wow, love it, Michelle. We will catch you in the next episode where we'll dive into some frequently asked questions. Have a fantastic rest of your day. All right, thank you.
