In the Season One finale of The Safe Space Podcast, I, Malakai, close out an incredible journey with a powerful message for every teacher, caregiver, mentor, youth leader, parent, and person who has dedicated themselves to creating safe spaces for others.
Throughout this season, we've explored the challenges, victories, emotions, and responsibilities that come with caring for and impacting the lives of children and young people. In this final episode, we reflect on the lessons learned and remind listeners that true impact isn't found in perfection—it's found in presence, consistency, compassion, and love.
If you've ever questioned whether you're doing enough, wondered if your efforts matter, or felt unseen in the work you do, this episode is for you.
"You Are Enough: Leaving a Legacy of Safe Spaces" is a heartfelt reminder that the legacy you leave isn't built through grand accomplishments alone, but through the everyday moments when you choose to show up, listen, encourage, and care.
As Season One comes to a close, I leave you, listeners, with one final truth: you don't have to change the entire world to make a difference—you simply have to change the world for someone.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Press play, reflect, and celebrate the impact you're making every day. Stay tuned for season two!!!

Yo, yo, yo. Welcome back. Welcome back to the Safe Space Podcast. A place where you don't have to have it all together. A place where you can be honest, where you can be seen, where you can be loved, where you can just be. I'm your host, Malachi, and today we're closing a chapter. This is episode 20, the season finale of season one. Oh my gosh, wow. Wow. Oh my goodness. Wow. I don't even know where to start. I definitely just want to say thank you. I thank you guys for listening, and I thank you guys for sharing these conversations. I thank you guys for allowing me into your car rides, your classrooms, your childhood centers, your child care centers, your walks, your quiet moments, anywhere where you've listened to me, have conversations with you. I appreciate that. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. This season has been more than a collection of episodes for me. It's been a conversation. It's been a reminder. It's been a safe space. Today I want to leave you with something that I really hope you'll carry long after this episode ends. Today's episode is called You Are Enough. Leaving a Legacy of Safe Spaces. Let's get it. Segment 1. The lie So Many of Us Believe. There's a lie that so many people who care for others eventually begin to believe. This lie says I'm not doing enough. I should be doing more. Someone else could do this better. I'm falling short. And over time that lie grows. Especially when you're serving, when you're teaching, when you're leading, when you're caring for children, because the more you care, the more you notice your imperfections. You notice the moments you lost patience, the opportunities that you missed, the things you wish you had said differently, the days you weren't at your best, and before you know it, you're measuring yourself by your mistakes instead of your impact. Segment two today is a safe space truth, and that safe space truth is that you do not have to be perfect to be impactful. The children that you work with, they don't need perfection. The people that you love don't need perfection. The world doesn't need perfection. The world needs presence. The world needs consistency. The world needs compassion. The world needs grace. Segment three. Legacy isn't built in moments. When people hear the word legacy, they often think about huge accomplishments. Awards, recognition, titles, achievements, but that's not how most legacies are built. Most legacies are built quietly, one conversation at a time, one act of kindness at a time, one encouraging word at a time, one moment of patience at a time. Legacy is built in ordinary moments. It's built when you kneel down to hear what a child is trying to say to you. It's built when you choose understanding over frustration. It's built when you create an environment where someone feels safe enough to be themselves. Segment 4. Okay, so think back for a moment. Think about someone who made you feel safe. Maybe it was a teacher, maybe it was a parent, maybe it was a mentor, maybe it was a coach, maybe it was a youth leader. You probably don't remember every word that they said, but I bet you remember how they made you feel seen. Valued, accepted, safe. That's the power of a safe space. And here's what's beautiful. You don't have to change the entire world. You just have to change the world for someone else. Segment five. What season one has taught us. This season, y'all, we talked about a whole lot of stuff. We talked we like we got into it. We talked about being the strong one and still needing support. We talked about understanding children beyond their behavior. We talked about showing up when we don't feel like we're making a difference. We talked about patience. We talked about compassion. We talked about healing. We talked about growth. And if there's one lesson that ties all of those things together, it's that people flourish where they feel safe. Children flourish where they feel safe. Adults flourish where they feel safe. Communities flourish where they feel safe. Safe spaces don't just change moments, they change lives. Segment six. To the person who feels inadequate. Okay, listen here. This is the part where I need you to turn your volume up. It's the part I really need you to listen. Before this season ends, I want to directly talk to someone. Maybe it's a teacher, maybe you're a child care provider, maybe you're a youth worker, a parent, a mentor, maybe it's you. Yeah, you with those headphones in, listening, the person who is wondering if they're enough, the person who feels exhausted, the person who doesn't feel seen, the person who worries that they're getting it wrong. Hear me clearly. You are enough. Not because you're perfect, not because you never make mistakes, not because you have all the answers. You are enough because you continue to show up, you continue to care, you continue to learn, you continue to try, and that matters way more than you know. Segment seven, the legacy, you're already leaving. So the truth is, your legacy is already being written. Not someday, right now, like literally at this very moment, it's being written in the lives that you touch. The children that you've encouraged, the people you've listened to, the individuals you've supported, the moments that you chose kindness with kids, the moment you chose patience with them, the moment you chose to stay present, even when it was hard, especially when it was hard, your legacy isn't waiting for you in the future. It's happening today. It's happening right now. Alright, guys, friends, parents, teachers, as we close season one, I want you to reflect on something. Who are you becoming? Not what are you achieving, not what are you accomplishing, but who are you becoming? Are you becoming someone who creates safety? Are you becoming someone who listens? Are you becoming someone who loves well? Someone who leaves people better than they found them. Because if the answer is yes, then you've already been building something beyond beautiful. You may never fully understand the impact that you've had. You may never hear every story. You may never know every life you've influenced, but your impact is real. Your presence, it matters, your kindness, it matters, your consistency matters, your voice matters, and you. You matter. So keep showing up, keep loving people, continue to create safe spaces because this world needs them. This world needs so many more safe spaces, and it needs people just like you. Well, we made it. Season one of the safe space pod is officially coming to a close. And as we end this season, I want to leave you with one more final reminder. You don't have to be perfect to make a difference. And you are enough. Thank you guys for spending this season with me. Thank you for allowing this podcast to be a part of your journey. So, until the next season, keep showing up, keep growing, keep creating safe spaces. This will always be your safe space. I'm Malachi. I'll see you in the next season. And remember, every child is a seed, it just takes someone willing to water them. Peace.
