Offstage America
Offstage America is Michael Ray like you’ve never heard him before.
No stage lights. No script.
This show lives where real life happens, on the road, on the porch, in the woods, at the table. Michael sits down for honest conversations about the things that actually matter: family, faith, the outdoors, sports, music, mental health, giving back, and what it means to build a life you’re proud of.
Guests range from fellow artists, athletes, celebrities and veterans to everyday Americans with real stories worth hearing. Some you’ll recognize instantly. Others you’ll be glad you met here first.
Michael brings a rare perspective from someone who’s toured nationally, topped charts, lived the highs of success, and still stayed rooted in who he is and where he comes from. That makes the conversations relaxed, unfiltered, and real. The kind of conversations that don’t happen on stage or in interviews.
Offstage America isn’t about hype. It’s about real people. It’s about life off the stage and the stories that shape us when no one’s watching.

Brady, Michael, and Paul are back, this time kicking it in Michael’s backyard in Georgia, sitting around the fire with drinks in hand and nothing off-limits.
What starts as a laid-back hang quickly turns into a mix of hilarious stories, wild moments, and real conversations about growing up, family, and how life has changed. From wrestling stories and behind-the-scenes moments to childhood memories, parenting, and the reality of today’s world, the guys bounce between chaos and honesty in a way that only happens when it’s real.
It’s unfiltered, it’s all over the place in the best way, and it feels like you’re right there with them...just three guys, a fire, and a conversation that goes wherever it wants.

So now we're good?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, we're good now.
SPEAKER_08Dear Lord. We had a little bit of uh technical difficulties.
SPEAKER_05A little whoopsie. We haven't heard that this is all new, and a lot of this is is uh is something that we want to grow and uh it's a lot of fun to do with your buddies. But uh the fun fact is we had about the freaking sitting here talking for eight minutes and Paul over here stops gandering at the veins in Brady's head to these fucking 1968 something Larry Bird basketball shorts.
SPEAKER_08But but hey, in all fairness though, these legs are cooking up here.
SPEAKER_04Okay, it is a soft fire long. The legs are hot right in the back.
SPEAKER_05Paul goes, hey guys, we've been talking for eight minutes and Brady's mic isn't on.
SPEAKER_02It was on and the volume was just really low. And it was, but it was registering on the computer, but not on the volume is low, and we should be able to it wouldn't. Yeah, no, no.
SPEAKER_08It was we can send people around the moon, but around the moon, but we can't turn a volume up on the microphone after the city. Crazy times we're living in.
SPEAKER_05I said this earlier uh about about eight minutes ago. Seven minutes 45 seconds ago. But uh we're just here chilling in my backyard. We got a fire going. Um they got some drinks happening, some cigars happening. It's just a really pretty night here in the woods in the country. Stars are shining, and uh, we just wanted to uh to catch up with everybody because it's been a little bit. We've been uh I've got new shows coming up. Uh Brady's been wrestling his ass off. Paul's been wrestling kids because his wife's been making sure everybody else doesn't go to jail. Um and maybe I'll plug her business one day. I don't know if that's legal in her world.
SPEAKER_02Uh it's legal. What is it? It's a tax and accounting firm. Tax and accounting firm. What is it called? Is that the name then? Tax and accounting.
SPEAKER_05RNN. RNN, yeah. Yeah, there you go. It's a legacy from her aunt. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_02From where? Oh, so her aunt had it? Her aunt had it for 40 years and then she took it over for Oh.
SPEAKER_08I don't know why, but I heard I ran.
SPEAKER_04I was like, is it from where easy? Easy.
SPEAKER_05I'm going on a fishing trip, dude, tuna fishing trip next month with Chad Mendez. Not next month. Yes, it is next month. Holy crap, bro.
SPEAKER_02Dude, this year is flying.
SPEAKER_05It is next month. Yeah. And I'm like, man, I have connections to Trump, you know. Should we just come back? Hey, so if y'all see a boat for three days, I'll let Mexican water on me.
SPEAKER_04We're just trying to get back in 72 hours, dude. Don't like y'all don't get all happy over there, bro.
SPEAKER_05Don't get all happy. We're just we're just fine Americans. A lot of the people bring on the boat are veterans, you know. Oh, that's the bomb.
SPEAKER_09The woe.
SPEAKER_05What God Almighty. Whoa. I can't take him anywhere. You've been sitting on that for a week and a half. He's been waiting on that one at least 35 seconds. Yeah. Yeah. Now there's yeah, stuff in Iran's crazy right now. But anyway, welcome to Offstage America. We've uh we're about 15 minutes into a two-minute podcast now. Thanks to Paul having Brady's mic on mute. We're also here um also know that we're big uh mixed martial arts, big professional wrestling fans. Um Brady is the heavyweight champion of 1 FW. And uh it's WrestleMania week. It's kickoff right now. We watched Night Down earlier. Pretty good. Weird ending. Very weird ending, honestly. Uh moment with Cody Cody Rhodes and CM Punk. It was kind of I thought, you know, you want to, they're saying that this is like a really hard one to sell. What is this one? 42, right? No, no, no. 42 was last year. It'll be 43 then. So this is 43 and 44? Or no, th43 is two days. All of them are two days now, right?
SPEAKER_09Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_08So it counts as one right now.
SPEAKER_05Apparently having trouble selling tickets, whatever. Some weird it just feels weird with the Pat Max stuff.
SPEAKER_02It didn't make me want to get on a plane though, after all that. You're like, oh, they like each other. Cool.
SPEAKER_08Well, that's what Yeah, I mean you could have just kicked them in the last minute plane ride to Vegas. We're gonna book it for you, Paul. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_05I would do it. Would you really? Yeah, go to WrestleMania. Yeah, I'd do it. But we can't tell your wife, and then when she comes here, I'm gonna go. He said he was going to you. No. And then and then we just see what you come back to.
SPEAKER_08It's a it's a test.
SPEAKER_05We're just yeah, we're telling her. We're curious. I'm pretty sure. How fast is she gonna move on?
SPEAKER_02Between the both of us, we would get killed on that one. Well, it would be fun to be there.
SPEAKER_08But you don't you don't know that until we find out though.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I I can tell you what would happen. You think you yeah, well, that's true. You put yeah, there's something he does live with her, so I mean the funeral of Michael Ray would be epic.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, yeah. Well, well, hey, look, my my drink is melting. Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_05What did you put on that tabletop card you got over there?
SPEAKER_02Put his little cup right on the fire. Yeah, just put it right on the log and spout. Look at it, he's got a little fountain that he can pour right into his mouth. I'm glad, I'm glad I called that.
SPEAKER_08It literally melded, yeah. It melted into like a little drinking spout.
SPEAKER_05That's crazy.
SPEAKER_08Isn't that funny?
SPEAKER_05Oh, dude, you know what else we gotta watch tonight? My buddy's fighting in uh bare knuckle. Tonight? Yeah, Chris. He's a freaking badass, dude. I'm I uh met him through a couple other buddies of ours out in California.
SPEAKER_02This is the first time we've also all been together since what, February? First of February?
SPEAKER_08Well, I think the last time we were all together was Montana, right? Yeah, yeah, whatever that was. That was no, that was in January, actually. That was in January. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02You might have done something in February. I I wouldn't remember.
SPEAKER_05Okay. Old just you know.
SPEAKER_02Are you old, Paul? Yeah, kind of. No, I don't feel old because a lot of things happen, you know. You sure? Yeah. Kids do a lot of things, it makes you just forget like what happened four days ago. Like, oh yeah, because they do you know, crazy shit. When you're eight when your twenty one month old tries to kamikaze off like things every single day, you tend to forget other things that you did. That's true. Because she's a psychopath.
SPEAKER_08I'm really glad you got that off your chest. What's the what's the what's the craziest thing your kid has tried to do?
SPEAKER_02Which one?
SPEAKER_08Well, either either one of them. Like if you had to choose like out of all three of them.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. If you're like this moment right now is the reason why we're not having any any more kids.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Um the youngest, the youngest. Always the youngest. Yeah, the youngest. The youngest will literally climb on something, jump off it, fall, bust her lip, bleed everywhere, cry, and 30 minutes later try to do it again.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, well, that sounds about it.
SPEAKER_02That's perseverance, though.
SPEAKER_09That's uh yeah, that's that's gonna help her out later in life. Yeah. Oh, is that the weird thing though? Like when you're looking at the biggest thing.
SPEAKER_02No, the weirdest thing is that my the weirdest thing is that my son stack ranks girls at the sorority house.
SPEAKER_09He stack ranks his favorite girl. What does that mean?
SPEAKER_04He says Oh yeah, dude.
SPEAKER_02So he's like, he'll go to the he'll so like my wife is like an advisor because she founded this big sorority at Kentucky, and so she's an advisor for them. And she founded it? She founded this. So she's like the first one. The first one for Kentucky. It's all it's a national sorority, but it's the first one.
SPEAKER_05So she's still heavily involved in it?
SPEAKER_02She has an advisor and does their finances and stuff because she's an accountant, right? So um plug it, plug it, plug the place again. RN taxon account. Okay. Uh and uh and so my son's been there like for years. She would just take him and she would do stuff. And so, you know, you brought my boy, my flesh and blood, into a place with a bunch, you know, 150 attractive females. Which is how old? How old is he? He's six now. With no fear. He is going to grow up and literally think that any girl that rejects him has problems because he has never been rejected. That's when he stack ranks these girls, and like he'll talk to one and they'll be like, relatable.
SPEAKER_08Dude, he'll literally kid. Yeah, no, no, no, no. He's just fine, bro. There's something wrong with the kid.
SPEAKER_02Relatable. So I have a video of him uh actually at like some retreat thing, and he's literally in front of 200 women just.
SPEAKER_04Would you send him to rehab?
SPEAKER_02No. Like I I was out of town, and I'm like getting a video. Dude, I I was out of town. My wife takes him to this thing, and I don't even know. He's like four at the time, and like next thing you know, I get a video of him just like dancing in the middle of 200 women. I was like, what? I'm like, listen, like, this is your fault when he's in high school and you know, brings home, you know, someone who has a has a poly sci degree.
SPEAKER_05Bro, do you even think this kid imagine high school? How different it is now, right?
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_05Like, I mean, I believe that small town America and there's towns that still football on Fridays, and you know, it's still uh there's memories and there's a what do they call it? Spirit or Spirit Week. Spirit Week and like Oh yeah, no, I remember. What's the squad of uh every school had like the crazies? I some you know my Eustace High School had a group, uh my buddy Anthony would like lead it, I believe. A bunch of them, they would just dress up. They do all this crazy shit, dude. Anthony one time bought a car and he passed it or something like that. Painted it the color of the of our high school with spray paint. Nice. He was just yeah, dude. And uh and drove it around. But uh but all that, man, it's part of high school. There's memories to it, you know what I mean? Oh, yeah that are like core for for you later on in life. And it's now those things, one, they don't they don't seem to really people really seem to give a crap anymore, you know. No, like prom. You don't really see anything promoting that anymore. Or like photo. I mean, it's small town America, though.
SPEAKER_02Small town America. Well, that's what I mean.
SPEAKER_05Like hopefully there it stays, you know.
SPEAKER_08So I have I actually have a little sister that she's uh she's graduating high school this year, actually. And uh they're they are still big on prom and stuff. Well, at least from her towns, yeah, it's great, man. Yeah. But I know what you mean for sure. Like it's it seems like a kind of thing that's like like dying.
SPEAKER_05I saw this freaking thing where they're talking about they already have AI set like teachers. Yeah. So it's a real idea. Do my kid found out that he loses his teacher. Like, we these teachers already don't make enough. They get paid dog crap, they gotta pay for what they put in their classrooms the majority of the time. Yeah, you know, yeah, it's insane. They're they're dealing with m m however many multiple kids from multiple houses with multiple different DNAs and different, you know what I mean, minds of their own. Thanks to our money we're on government. And and now they gotta worry about freaking AI coming in. And guess what? Yeah, that I what I feel, what I fear is higher-ups will go and try to justify it with like, well, lower cost. Lower cost, and this knows everything.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, because it's a computer, right? It has to know everything. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02Oh, no, there's none. My kid, I just told him, like, because he's almost out of kindergarten, right? And I was like, Yeah, like next year you have a new teacher, and he's like, My Miss Harvey's gonna be gone. Like, you know, he's like starts crying when he doesn't realize he's not gonna have the same teacher, you know.
SPEAKER_05No, Miss Height, Miss Bellamy, uh, Miss Butler, Miss Crumpton, like I mean, I could go on and on, Miss Isminger, so many um teachers, dude, that were like helped you. You don't know. They're role models in your life. Yeah, they tell you, yeah, like that it was just they taught you, especially I was telling Audrina this, I was like, I went to a very, very small high school, so it was more, way more one-on-one. And we'd been the same class since like seventh grade or sixth grade or something like that, and we were gonna be the first graduating class. So I mean, all the family, the parents hung out together, the teachers hung out. So it was a little bit of a different experience, you know what I mean? But it was still like Yeah, those teachers and different, but I mean Miss Hyatt, she was my second grade teacher. She played guitar and would sing worship songs in class. She actually had this is crazy, man. But Miss Hyatt, she actually ended up playing in my grandpa's band later on in life, like a historical moment. That's cool. But she would play the guitar for us, and that helped us learn. And for me, it helped me learn actually like retain, you know, because I can't retain anything. So that really brings back like their role models.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05And kind of she'd played, you know, praise and worship and all this stuff. And and uh But like, yeah, dude, you can't we're we're getting so far away from human interaction, it's sad because you can't replace that, you know.
SPEAKER_02You're also like we were before we started this, we were talking about right, like the nineties and growing up and the simple parts and like and humanity in a lot of ways has just kind of forgotten the simple, the simple parts of life, which is the best parts, you know. Like and look, I'm guilty of it with three kids and working, and you get really caught up in the hustle and bustle. I mean, I know you do like it's hard for us and because we both all of us grew up simpler than that.
SPEAKER_05Times were different, man. It's times are different nowadays. You ain't freaking grinding all the you know what I mean? Which sucks because you know, I mean we can go down a rabbit hole, but that work ethic though is because of that upbringing. Well, right, but also that upbringing that work ethic was because uh there was a a full family at home. Yeah, you know what I mean? And there was time spent with people, you know, like people sat on a front porch and just talked. Now you sit at dinner with your family and everybody's on their phones. We're all guilty. I'm not preaching. We're we're all guilty of it, yeah.
SPEAKER_08Like I like me and you were on the way home the other night and we were really talking about this stuff like hard, and uh it's like we're all glued to our phone and we're all guilty of it, even though we realize it ourselves. Like, for example, I could literally be sitting on the couch and I could be telling you how bad our phone you know thing is, and like we're all glued to our phones and all this stuff, and then not a minute after I get done talking to you about this. What am I doing? I'm scrolling on TikTok.
SPEAKER_02So if you're listening to this podcast, make sure you're following offstage America on all of our social medias and you're following Mike.
SPEAKER_05I mean, no, we all have to have it. Listen, I don't think I'm saying anything that a lot of people don't agree with. No, social media is very important. I I think it's like I just man, the the amount that the amount that it the weight that it holds is a little nuts.
SPEAKER_08But it's also but like it's also social media is it's its own bubble, right?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_08So like you're you're looking at a one percent that a one percent of the population, honestly, that's the algorithm is is trained to show you over and over something. So people are um comparing themselves to people who that they think is the normal, you know what I mean? So they like they compare themselves to them and then they feel inferior or whatever the case may be. And like this is like from my own train of thought. Like, I'll sit there and I'll look on social media and I'll be like, well, this person's doing so much better than me. And like, yada yada yada, you know. And I'm sure like all you like you can all relate to that. Well, exactly, but like social media itself just feeds that to you, they don't show you anything else out on the outside, like what real America's happening, right?
SPEAKER_05You know what I love about living in a little small town, man, is you go and you see what really matters, you know, and you go watch the news and then you go around this little town and go get gas somewhere, just go to the grocery store. Or I go to I gotta shout them out because I love them so much. Jojo's Market. What's up? Also Atlantic Palm, I think is the name next door. I mean, uh with all the flowers and the plants. But uh, you know, you don't meet a Jojo's Market everywhere, you know. So in small towns, there's still that connection, you know.
SPEAKER_02It's almost like we're teasing that there could be that whole thing that where it's gets highlighted or something at some point. Where what? It's almost like we're teasing there may be something that gets highlighted of all these small towns in America.
SPEAKER_08Oh yeah. Small town America. We're we're like, we're plugging it away.
SPEAKER_02Like dude, your shoes are smoking right now.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, but the shoes are hot. They're on fire. I would say their name, but I've been trying to get a deal with them to go work with everybody else, but uh Yeah, don't say their name then.
SPEAKER_01Don't plug them. Don't plug them.
SPEAKER_05You should have got me when you could. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04You should have got me when you had a chance.
SPEAKER_08But yeah, man. Nah. Social media is like it's a good tool to have. But at the end of the day, you have to have security in yourself, you know, and like training your own brain to like not think certain ways and stuff, and like I'm guilty of it. We're all guilty of it.
SPEAKER_05But bro, they got that thing down, buddy.
SPEAKER_08Oh yeah, no, a hundred percent. No, they figured it out, bro.
SPEAKER_02It's weird, it's weird parenting knowing that that's like a thing, because I didn't grow up with it, you know. Like my my thing was go outside and you know, go fish in the canal and play with your friends and that kind of stuff.
SPEAKER_08And that's a lost art today. It's like and that's a part of you know, social media is like w the kids these days they don't get out, they don't experience like the nature and you know, all these other things. That's like so beautiful, you know what I mean? And it's like sometimes it's good to just escape the life of being online and getting yourself out there, just breathing air.
SPEAKER_05You know what I mean? I guess absolutely nothing to do with what we're talking about, but I just removed my cup for the first time out here. Did you?
SPEAKER_03Smiley face. Smiley face? There you go. Look, there we are. Positivity all positivity, all right. Yeah, it's beautiful.
SPEAKER_02I can say proud dad moment. The first fish my kid ever caught was in a canal in Florida, so the kid that grew up fishing. What part of Florida were you guys at? Uh we're in uh near Marco Island. Do you remember what kind of fish it was? Yep, it was a peacock bass.
SPEAKER_01Oh nice. Oh nice, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Nice little place called Blackwater Creek. I think it it was way like bigger and probably way deeper back when my great grandfather was little around there or whatever. But we still would fish it and it was deep enough where you could canoe, but like bro, you're in the in the woods. Oh yeah. There's things in there. Oh yeah. And me and my grandma and my grandpa, a lot a lot of people like fish from the bank. You can fish excuse me, from the bridge, but we put a freaking canoe in there one time, I'll never forget it. And the water, dude, you can't see the bottom. In Florida, gators. Oh yeah, they're out there. They'll hide on you.
SPEAKER_02Gators get a bad rap, though. Like they don't really.
SPEAKER_05They don't really mess with you, yeah. No, for sure.
SPEAKER_08You know, that's just unless you're like well, provoking them or something like that.
SPEAKER_05But I will say we did uh I was in feed 'em, man. Yeah. The people that go down to feed, people don't understand. Like, I get the excitement of it because, you know, I would we'd go tour Australia where the idiots wouldn't hold a koala, you know. So like I'd get like, oh, hey, let's look at an alligator, right? Oh, let's see it eat, right? I I get it. But it's also why there's like alligator farms to go to in Florida. Yeah. So when you feed, like if you're, you know, those boat dots, like one of the coolest things what I love about Central Florida and Florida, period, it's like where I'm from though, is you can hop around the lakes, dude, and bar hop and go to restaurants and different places and part the boat, and it's just really cool and chill, you know. Yeah, yeah. And uh, and you know, kids want to jump in the lake, you know. We're all Florida kids, we don't think about any of that stuff. And so all the kids are jumping around there. But if you're on a boat dumping food, dumping around that dock, and you're and people are doing it every day, and that gator knows, hey, every time around these hours, all he knows is a splash, you know? Yeah, but instead of it being some chicken, you wanted to see them eat at somebody's kid, you know. Yeah, so feeding them, that's why they're so adamant about don't feed them, man, because if they get in that routine, something happens, it's gonna be it's just gonna, you know. Has that happened? Has it happened? Yeah, it happened to a friend of mine's son. No way, yeah, yeah. Yeah, my dad worth the call, actually.
SPEAKER_08All right, so like I remember you telling me the story. Do you want to tell that story?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, nah, because it's theirs. I don't know. Yeah, no, I I I get that. But it was but but uh uh it you know, but you hear a lot of those type of stories. Yeah, for sure, for sure. And um and so yeah, they're not aggressive, but if you feed them and that type of thing, it's which I you know, like I said, I get dude. Like we also do a lot of dumb shit when we grow up down there. Well, if you know I mean if we grew up around them, you know, catch them, yeah, hell yeah. You and my buddy Michael. You've jumped on a gator? Hell yeah. Really? But Bliffin jumped out of a boat, bro. Bliffin jumped out of a boat on top of one on Lake Delahousey in the middle of the night once. Handy. That's ballsy.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Was he sober? Well, well, I don't really know what the laws are right now on anything.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05So we ain't talking about it. It was a long, long, long, long, long time ago. That's yeah.
SPEAKER_02Dude, we were, we were, I was with my my ex-wife, who is from Florida, and her I was with, you know, my my brother-in-law as we were on a boat. We're just driving by and like one of them just grab, you know, you see him reach over, rah, yank. Oh, yeah. And yoink's a fucking baby gator, pulls it up. He's like, look at that. And then you start, you know, like making that noise. He's just like, look at this, it just throws it away.
SPEAKER_05We would do that on airboats. Because in an airboat, you can ride right on top of one. They want to do that.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Hey, well where the baby is, the mama's not far away.
SPEAKER_05Well, dude, unless me and my cousin Lee legally were hunting gators uh a few seasons back, bro. It was so bad, man. We saw normally you do right. Normally when you see babies, mama's not far, right? So I think it was the second night, you know, and you hunt 'em at night. Or we did that time. And uh for those three nights. And so dude, we didn't see shit, man. We were calling everybody. We had hookups, we had you know, it was just couldn't get on them. The few that we did see were too far, you know, we couldn't get them. Yeah. It was just a pain. But dude, we s one time we saw babies all over, bro, but could not find anything. Really? Nothing, dude. I think the my I think my cousin, I think Lee might have seen it pop up like a little bit a ways. But yeah, for three diets, dude. Hunted gator. We hunted all night long. Wow, that's crazy. Then they got me drunk and had me try to call Rick Flair at four in the morning. Did you? Yeah. Wait, wait, wait. Did he answer? Did he answer? No, but he did text me the next day. Hey buddy, you okay? What are you calling me at 4 a.m. in the morning for? It was a big thing. But hey, if anyone were to be up. Here's the worst thing that could have happened. Because I was with my cousin and our buddy JJ and he's like family. So we were my and my cousins like my brother. My cousin Lee, we he's probably like, I don't know how much a little bit older than me, but always like a brother to me, him and him and his brother. So uh it was always what were we just talking about? Um sorry.
SPEAKER_04I gotta think about something else.
SPEAKER_08Totally went blank. I do that all the time.
SPEAKER_02Start looking at his thighs again.
SPEAKER_08You start looking at these thighs over there, the veins popping. They totally missed that part of it.
SPEAKER_05Well, probably because Jesus didn't want to tempt some married women, dude. Yeah. Um so we were out as the last night. And we're like, screw it. It's like three in the morning. We're so tired, we're like, just crack beers, let's hang. You know, like yeah. We was funny if we see a gator, cool. If not, we're just gonna hang with the boys. And we kept drinking. And then they were like, Michael, call somebody famous on your phone. And I was like, Yeah, at the time, that's a great idea. And in my mind, I was like, oh shit. I'm like, who would understand? I'm like, Flair. Oh yeah, I know a hundred percent. And so I called and thank God he didn't answer. I'm like, also what the fuck were we gonna say? Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I mean? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. What was I possibly gonna talk about? At four in the morning. Yeah. Why would I do this?
SPEAKER_02I'm surprised it wasn't daily.
SPEAKER_05Why would I do this? No, I know. Well, no, I don't know. We might have tried daily, honestly. Well, I called it five. I went through a few names, bro. Okay, and uh not not good. Not not proud of it, but bad enough to admit it.
SPEAKER_02Did you get any like really nasty texts for that?
SPEAKER_05No, no, because luckily I only reached out to people I thought would do it to me. Or had done it to somebody else. I know 100%. Yeah, fair. So it was all just them like manly, like once I woke up the next day, bro. Uh it was I was like, what? Why did I do that? Yeah, yeah. Why?
SPEAKER_02I'm honestly surprised lots of nights like that.
SPEAKER_08I'm honestly surprised Flair didn't answer it for though in the morning, man. Like, it's a wild cat.
SPEAKER_02Does he ever answer with just like woo? Yeah every time he FaceTimes me. Really?
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Yeah. I was in the car with you one time when he called me, weren't I think so, yeah. I was with my dad once.
SPEAKER_08I I have a so Flair, I was working an AEW show in Huntsville, Alabama. Flair was still with AEW at the time. And uh so I was just like talking to him or whatever, and he like uh he looked at me and he goes, he goes, Hey, have you ever given Hunter a call? And I'm like, I I know Hunter's triple H or whatever. I'm like Flair, I don't I don't know if you realize that like I just don't have Hunter's number on speed at all. But like his his train of thought was like bro, you have a good look, you should give Hunter a call.
SPEAKER_05Flair is a man, dude. He's always been so cool to me.
SPEAKER_02We've uh podcast might get us canceled, but no, dude.
SPEAKER_05He's he's solid, man. You know, talk about a guy that gave his life for the whole business, bro.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, no, a hundred percent. I mean and he still lives out gimmick to the day.
SPEAKER_05Dude, I've talked to him about a couple things, or he has said things to me, or maybe to a group of us or whatever. And you can see him like get teary-eyed just telling a you know, a story. And I'm sure like his age and and his buddies are fast, and you know what I mean? Like that's how when you're a scenario, you gotta start really put your more your own mortality. Yeah, yeah. But he like I don't know, man.
SPEAKER_08He's just yeah, he um is is he is one of those characters that he he lived the gimmick and he was who he said he was. Oh, he's the real deal. You believed it, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_05And it's like he's also still that guy that still will probably just have no problem smacking some dude at a bar for you. Oh no, a hundred percent. He's that's fighting.
SPEAKER_08He's he hey, he is that guy now though that you're at the bar with and he'll start some shit and expect you to handle it. Like, hey, I got I got Michael Ray with me. No, he'll he'll he'll beat your ass.
SPEAKER_05That would have been a great flair like uh uh bit when it back in the wrestling. Oh, 100%.
SPEAKER_02Did you ever see the video that he said he did with him and then he had to like redo it? Did you ever see like the one that the first take? Because you showed us when we were in Texas the first take when you were with Flair and you're like, yeah, we gotta post it on social media. He said, That's great, but like we gotta post this on social media. Yeah, yeah. It was pretty funny.
SPEAKER_05Flair, John Party, Kid Rock. It was it was he was but he's always been cool, man. All those guys have been cool that I've met through you, dude. It's it's crazy, man. Like Bra Brady and I were talking about it the other day, how like God works and different things work? He had picked me up one time from the airport. This is like Yeah, this is a wild story. Like, this is crazy, right? Pick me up from the airport, and I have this is my first time home in a long time, and I had like seven days off or whatever. And he goes, What you want to do, man? I go, bro. Because I grew up, my dad wrestled independent wrestling.
SPEAKER_08So before you tell this story, how crazy is it that we're just two guys, and our the only thing we want to do on a Friday night is go see indie wrestling. Yeah. Like we like we land and it's like, what do you want to do? And I'm like, I don't know, man. There's an indie wrestling show we can go check out, yeah.
SPEAKER_02And now you know why Brady's talking about his veins by a fire with two dudes on a Friday night. We're very safe. Yeah, so I go we've gotten old. I was like, In a good way.
SPEAKER_05I was like, You think so?
SPEAKER_02No. Maybe we'll see.
SPEAKER_05I think so. But yeah. But if you want to go to bat once in a while, I'll split it. Yeah, we can what is uh the Toby Key song? I ain't as good as the most. But I'm as good once as I ever was.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05I don't think I don't think we're as battled yet, though. Unless we end up in Montana, though. Paul over here is already getting AARP cards.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, hey, when we were in Montana, who was one of the two dudes still up going with you?
SPEAKER_05He's like, I got, I got. Uh uh.
SPEAKER_02Who is one of those? Everybody else peace out. Who is one of the two dudes still up and going? You were Paul. Thank you. The Lord my savior Jesus Christ was the whole reason I woke up. He's always with me, brother. Even when you go to sleep all the days. I said, fuck it. Like, you know, I was in Montana. I figured like we might as well just go and see what happens to like five in the morning.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, such a beautiful place, man. Montana. But uh, yeah, no, we were um anyway, finish your story there because we we totally went on a different like uh path there. But we we were talking about like uh picking you up at the airport and oh yeah, so I was like, dude, we should go find just like some redneck, fun, independent wrestling show.
SPEAKER_05And I said, Oh buddy, do I have the show for you? He's like, actually, dude, I think my buddy's wrestling. He goes, Let me see how far it is. So he called our buddy Brady Booker.
SPEAKER_08So all right, let's shout out Brady Booker right now.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, because he's on Survivor. Survivor. Really? He's taping the new, he's recording the new Survivor. Yeah, let me tell you this, bro. This dude is the happiest, most positive of I've I freaking love this dude. He's gray, man. You can't help but be happy around this dude.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, like he just You have no choice. You can literally be the most depressed person in the world. 100%. And if you're beside Brady Booker, he's gonna lift you up.
SPEAKER_02And I yeah I love that about him. And he's also so great.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, like 270 pounds, just like he'll kill you, but he's like, dude, you're actually that's why I'm happy all round about it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. A little bit of fear creeps in. Yeah, yeah. I'm laughing at you.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I told him I was like, dude, you're either gonna be the first voted off the island or you're gonna be the star of the show. Yeah, I was like, you're either gonna win the show or you're gonna be the first one.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, he's bro, he's such a pro.
SPEAKER_08Hey, I hey, I beat him for the one FW Heavyweight Championship.
SPEAKER_07Well, I was uh he said, uh, so he calls Brady, Booker.
SPEAKER_05Brady's like, actually, yeah, dude, uh we're doing this brewery. It was like, what, an hour and a half away? It ended up being longer than we thought. Yeah, it was a little bit, it was a little trek out there. So it was a little longer than we expected. But anyway, we went out there. It was this cool little brewery, and it's exactly how I remembered it, right? And we went as fans, dude. Like Brady hooked us up, but we just went as fans, and uh, we sat because in those you you kind of could sit wherever, you know. So we set up ringside and uh and watched the match, and freaking Brady got recognized by a bunch of like the independent wrestling fans, and then all the you know, a couple of the wrestlers that were.
SPEAKER_08Even the wrestlers were in the ring, like, what are you doing here?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, literally, one of the wrestlers got thrown out right in front of us. He's like, Brady, what are you doing here, man? He's like, We just came to watch the show. And then uh uh Billy Gunn brought me up after the whole show was.
SPEAKER_08Well, so that was that was it was really cool because like uh I had no idea that was gonna happen. We had no idea.
SPEAKER_05And that's his world, dude. You know what I mean? So I was like, so he went back. I stayed outside by the by the spring, chilling, and uh so I didn't, I didn't I had not seen any of those guys, uh or hadn't even met Brady Booker at that time. Oh, you had not met Brady Booker. No, no, no, because you came out, remember? And then that's when that's when freaking Brady or remember because Brady was wrestling and he brought that guy over to me to chop. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_09Uh Joshua Woods. Josh Woods, shout out to Josh Woods, bro.
SPEAKER_05Josh Woods, this wrestler has cauliflower in his jack, dude.
SPEAKER_08Like, hey, like Josh is a legit fighter.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, like a legit or he'll fuck you up. Yeah, like you'll be like, like Josh will fuck you up. Yeah. So And Brady's like, hey, Michael, chop this guy. Top this motherfucker, yeah. He's crazy as he never even said anything, did he? He just did it. Yeah, no, he didn't. I don't and he came up with a dude's hand by hands behind his back. He's like, slap him. And in my mind, I'm like, okay. Okay, here's what there's when you were on TV. No, no, no, no, no. No, no, no, no. This was uh this was what led to me to being on TV. Being on TV, yeah. Was this random time where we went to a freaking wrestling matchup, one FW. Yeah. And uh, so I chopped him. I felt like it was hard enough, but also felt kind of like a bitch at the same time. Oh, yeah, no, 100%. Um, but anyway, we uh then Billy Gunn afterwards the show was over and he was kind enough. We Billy's badass, literally Billy. Badass Billy Gunn. Badass Billy Gunn. Yeah, he's an ass man, baby. You're gonna call somebody. Yeah. Um, one of the nicest dudes in the world. Like, you could just tell Billy is just living on life.
SPEAKER_08And the dude looks like a freaking G.I.
SPEAKER_05Joe. You know, he knows I haven't made. He's like, he's like, I'm jacked at 60. I don't know how old he is, but I'm gonna be longer because I love you, Billy, and I'm scared of you.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, he looks so much better now. Like he's a freak of Dutch. He's the nicest dude you've ever met. And keep in mind, we had no idea. So, like at the end of the show, it was QT uh Marshall and Billy Gunn versus uh I think it was the uh the superstars at the end of the show. And uh after you know the baby faces win and all that stuff, they usually to send everybody home happy. Billy did a little promo at the very end of the show, and then in the middle of his promo, he stops and basically uh points his attention to Michael. Yeah, call me out, yeah, and just calls him out, but in a good way. Yeah, and uh basically goes like we have a country music star in the attendance tonight, and like Michael Ray, and then puts him over, he's like, dude, I've been trying to meet you forever, and here you are.
SPEAKER_05I look out in the crowd, and you're literally sitting front row. Yeah, so rewind even crazier time, dude. His sister used to be a bartender at the bar I played at growing up. Oh, that's cool. Yeah, heidi.
SPEAKER_02So it's like then you're like, oh yeah.
SPEAKER_05Heidi was our girl, man. Heidi's still the girl, she's the best. Um, so we had known of each other because I think at the time he lived down there too, I think, in Florida. I think before he moved back to Georgia, whatever. But yeah, so he came out that I got and he called me on the stage, I gotta do the uh two words for you, suck it, which I was like, that's that's pretty cool.
SPEAKER_0710-year-old me, check. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05100%. We did it. Well, then we go in the back, we get to talk to QT and um fast forward, like you it's just crazy how God can make something happen, right? Then fast forward without you know talking too long about it. Now he's the one FW champion. I've now they've allowed me, literally welcomed me like uh with open arms. They're a Jack James. I got to ref one of my favorite wrestlers' matches with uh Emmy winning actor, you know. That's pretty cool. Like, and now he's a one FW champion.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, it's freaking nuts, man. Well, well, Michael's super humble, so he won't he won't say this, but like Michael got me so many browning points that day because I'm friends with country music star Michael Ray. So everybody like QT was like, wait, you know Michael Ray, and I'm like, Yeah, I know Michael Ray. What do you mean? I you know, so like it all worked in favor, and it's just like one of those things where two people come into each other's lives and like you kind of like help each other out, you know what I mean? So but yeah, it's uh it is crazy, man. It's crazy how that uh all that transitioned in place and gave me an opportunity, but also like gave your childhood dream an opportunity as well.
SPEAKER_05I gotta do the Jared Strut. Are you kidding me? He killed it. I've been watching watching myself do it and watching him do it with Phoebe since I was a kid.
SPEAKER_08It's funny because like I remember we had talked about that backstage about you doing the strut or whatever, and then uh Yeah, I didn't know he was gonna love it. Well, and that's the thing is like we actually ran it by him.
SPEAKER_05And he didn't really say nothing. He didn't say nothing.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, he was like, well, you he said he said fill it out there if it works, like if the people are with it, you know.
SPEAKER_05But here's the thing, dude. Like, you know, I'm trying to be respectful too. Like, I don't want to be like the guy that he comes in and like just does it. Like, what if he's just kind of saying that, but really in wrestling terms, it's like Don't do it. I will kill you if you do if you I will take that guitar and break it over your face. Hey, you think this is fake? I'll show you. I'll show you fake stuff. I dare you to I double J dare you to do it.
SPEAKER_08Double dare you. I double J dare you. Hey, that same show, that same show. I got to do the double A spine buster in front of R. Anderson. That was sick. And I got to tone him about it. And hey, he told me it wasn't great, but I know it was great. You know, I don't have to have him to tell me it was great. But no, that's super cool. Tony Shavani was there. Tony Shivani was there. It was it was a great glacier was clear. Oh, okay. So I have to I have to say this. We had to shout out our boy Bradley. Yeah. Because Bradley's a beast, okay? And this man is killing it right now as a manager. He's my manager, and obviously I'm gonna hype him up, but I believe like he's a super, like, really good guy, and he hypes everything off off stage. Like I I've noticed, like he shares all the stuff and all that stuff.
SPEAKER_05And I met him when he hit me up about need a hey man, if y'all need a haircut, we were on tour with old Dominion coming through North Carolina. And so this is an it's another crazy story. And I I checked his Instagram and I was like, uh, yeah, bro. And he came and we hit it off. So we actually started talking about wrestling. We were like, what? And then we then we got some drinks and started kicking it, and he hung for the show, and he's been one of my best pals ever since.
SPEAKER_08And uh And it's it's crazy how this stuff works out because you know Michael met him before I ever met him, and you know, Bradley's wanting has been wanting to break into the wrestling business for quite a while now. And I met Bradley at a NWA show in Chicago. Yeah. And we just started talking and like, you know, we hit it off right off the bat too. And uh he either me or him brought you up. I can't remember.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, one of y'all sent me a picture.
SPEAKER_08I was like, Well, yeah, well, we were we were talking about it and he was like, Wait, you know Michael? And I'm like, Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm like, Yeah, I know Michael. How do you know Michael?
SPEAKER_05Two people you never thought would ever meet. You know what I mean? Like you brought them together.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, we're in the middle of Chicago, right? And he's talking about it, and like we it's it's the craziest thing ever. So when we found out that we were mutuals, we sent Michael a photo of us together, and then Michael's like, How do you guys know each other?
SPEAKER_05And it's like, I don't know, but if y'all were to meet, it would be because I brought y'all together, but yeah, dude, now he's part of one FW, your manager.
SPEAKER_08I mean, y'all you got some big things happening up that you can't Yeah, I can't really disclose everything, but it's uh it's really fun, man. It's it's really cool, and then it's just like uh it's a testimony of like you know, God works in mysterious ways. He puts I truly feel like I wouldn't be where I am right now had it not been for you coming in my life. Um and that's a shoot. I really do believe that. And uh because like as we talked about earlier, you know, you landed that day and you're like, what you know, what do you want to do? And I was I don't know, what do you want to do? And you're like, man, it'd be really cool to see like just an indie wrestling show somewhere. And then like that literally is what sparked all this stuff to happen because we went to that show, had a great time at the show, and then the literally the next day, Jameson, um Jack Jameson, the luggage. He's great, man. He's uh he's part of the AEW crew, um, has has this outstanding group called uh the Frat House. But all those guys are great. Um, but anyway, the next day he he messaged me and he was like, hey bro, are you still wrestling? And at the time I really wasn't. I kind of had gotten out of it because I I transitioned from wrestling into like the acting and stunt world. And uh I messaged him, I'm like, it's funny that you messaged me because I've been wanting to get back into it. So that's kind of how it started for me, or started back for me. Act like it never left, buddy. And I literally came back like a time never left. And uh back out the belt. In a month. It's crazy. Yeah. So like I said, it's you got it, you got it, you know what I mean? You got it, you got it. And then the the man upstairs is looking out for you, and then you know just everything falls into place how it should, you know.
SPEAKER_02But I mean, as the as the as the dude that is literally not famous whatsoever in any capacity, like you guys are just normal guys, though. Like that's the aspect of like why it's like cool to watch you guys succeed.
SPEAKER_05Oh, thank you.
SPEAKER_02It's like you guys aren't like you know, I mean, dude, my kids were over at your house yesterday and like Michael's playing with them like he just you know met him. Last time he saw Liz, yeah, like so. My daughter, I think, has a crush on him, like loves listening to his music and stuff, and like you know, he's there's a lot of people who have a crush on Michael, yeah.
SPEAKER_01But it's yeah, we we know that.
SPEAKER_02Um but like it's just it's cute, like he's never met my kids but like my kids now like like today they're like talking about them like they've right and so because it like you gotta when you're telling trying to tell your kids how you know certain people like you gotta show like all right like this is what Michael does this is what Brady does and so now like you guys are larger than life to my kids yeah and it's like it's just fucking Michael. No I'm just like but like you bring them around and you're just humble and you're welcoming it's like my family's your family your family's Mike right like I mean yeah yeah and so that's what makes it special like that you know the winning and you know you guys encourage me and I encourage you guys and that's what makes this whole thing fun man it really does.
SPEAKER_05Well man like you know with touring I I had to miss a lot of family time that I can't get back you know so like I always want everybody's family and kids and everybody to feel welcome and and together you know what I mean and I I think that like that's important and uh it's important for them to feel like they can relax dude you know what I mean and kick it at your house and you kids dude scream be loud you know what I mean like run run around you can't break nothing in there yeah guns are in another room have fun so easy on the guitar yeah so like true story uh I did have to kick your son out his mouth yeah I get it yeah it's funny like so we were at um so the Super Bowl party that we had at the house here we had a few kids that were gonna be there Michael knew that so we were at Ingalls and uh we were just getting some like steaks or something to cook that night because we were obviously we're doing a Super Bowl party so we were gonna grill out and stuff.
SPEAKER_08So like I'm over looking at you know the potatoes and stuff for the mashed potatoes and all and Michael goes hey but before we leave let's circle back around and let's get this blow up like football um field goal thing that's still inflated in the house yeah this thing has to today a little bit and it's been what three months like it's if it lasts the next Super Bowl that's what I'm saying like it's still going strong. It's a Christmas tree all the time it's still going strong. But anyway so he he says like we're gonna circle back around we're gonna grab that um inflatable and I$14 I thought it was pretty good deal.
SPEAKER_05Yeah and I was like why are we gonna get that football inflatable and he literally looks at me and he says we have kids coming over and I was like I was like they're gonna be right he literally inflatable because kids are coming I was like oh man he was like we have kids coming over and I was like oh man he goes oh okay and then I grabbed this big ass thing waddle over to the freaking jacket that was what I bought those uh cupcakes for him too the lady just threw them in the bag made some kind of mess with them yeah she used them in a mixhake style but oh that's so funny and then I set it up so for the kids to come in and be like oh dope and then freaking as he as they go to open the door he walks past it blows it open nobody pays attention nobody noticed it just ruined the whole moment now I'm stuck with a three and a half foot football goalpost in my living room can't get rid of it now it's a thing what's what's funny about that is I totally forgot that thing was still over there until Paul got here yesterday and I was like why do y'all have a football I was like I forgot that was over there it's still there staring at it who the fuck is this I'm like that's been here since we did the show that hasn't been moved what is this guy's that's that's you might just get adjusted yeah no it's just like it's a part of the house now it's gonna be there until she finally defies the flake been laying down for a week and a half you're like I don't know yeah it's just news to me you tell me yeah yeah that's a memory of it special kind of stupid though in a good way yeah that's the one way to put it special kind of stupid in a good way can you elaborate on that's all I got I I choose not to surprise that outside security light hasn't popped on if you hear a whistle yeah well we're not moving enough we're gonna start dude I've been on a we've been working out I've been trying to get my sleep schedule back on right so I've been waking up early grounding out here waking up early with all the animals are running around there are so many animals that come out of these woods in this area but they're all like small little birds or like muskrat looking couple couple possums at night bro I saw a snake out here one time yeah y'all sent me a video of it yeah it was literally right it was like a little I had never seen a snake out here it was it was a rat snake but I keep in mind I don't like snakes at all like at all you wouldn't do well in Florida well I lived in Florida for two years I lived in Miami so when we're talking about Florida we're not talking about Miami yeah we're not talking about where you go you know grab a water moccasin out of the water because it's funny have you you've have you done that yes you've grabbed a water moccasin we're really we did some really dumb shit I can't like growing up in Florida we did really dumb shit dude we literally just told you about jumping on gators and you think grabbing a water moccasin is like I have never grabbed a water moccasin in my life a water moccasin I don't think we realized it was a water moccasin so we had our hands around its neck and we're like oh nah screw that because we we have water moccasins so I grew up in South Carolina and where I'm from we have quite a few water moccasins in like the ponds and stuff and just not the swamp puppies.
SPEAKER_08Yeah we don't have swamp puppies but those water moccasins nah they scare me to death but with that being said any snake at all do not like them absolutely not no so are you down to do some like python hunts in the Everglades I will do that yeah yeah well yeah I don't think a python is it that's different.
SPEAKER_02Python scare the shit out of me do they yeah because like the the constricting part you know like yeah if a watermogasin bites you and you can get to like bro if a watermogasin bites if you can get it's it's quick bro yeah uh you got you you got some time it's you got some time uh watermog is like a fast 15 foot python gets wrapped around your neck you just slowly are going bro if you're with a 15 foot python what the hell are you doing out there my my nephew had a 12 foot python as a pet well yeah as a pet now that's just inviting the dog but isn't that the how is it so is gonna melt so is it oh shoot isn't that how uh Florida or the especially the Everglades got such a bad yeah they were dropping them off because people dropping them off the problem is they would they would drop them off or they would get them as pets and they would grow bigger than they thought and you didn't let them think about that.
SPEAKER_05That's growing and they just dump his ass off with the Everglades. But now we got a new thing to shoot baby.
SPEAKER_08That's true.
SPEAKER_02And they they actually pay you right for hunting um same thing with lion lionfish yeah because the lionfish are taking over like in like the keys and stuff because they're unnatural.
SPEAKER_05Yeah they're not natural do you know the story of the lionfish no uh the the it's just they you you get paid to hunt them and apparently it's really good so the sushi restaurants will buy them so but they I've caught one when I was in the keys the truth telling fish the lionfish that motherfucker's lying right now that's a lion fish it's they're like no like the big cat yeah yeah yeah I'm a big fish I'm a big boy it is crazy though like you'll you'll go in a canal and catch a paku and you're like what in the F just happened bro my favorite part of Florida ever I'm I've been all over the state my favorite part of Florida is taking a boat and going on the canals like the Dora Canal or the canals that connect like Lake Eustace and Lake Dora and there's dude it is because you have to just idle through you know and there's these old houses dude there's some I think there's a couple like bars on them at the end but you like go through it looks like Jurassic Park dude like you feel like you're like you're covered completely and there's gators there's turtles there's birds you hear wildlife because you know the only thing you hear is people talking and music on boats everybody's just idle and through dude and it is it's like taking a natural Xanax it's like the calmest you will feel dude and it's the Florida moss hanging like it's the best part of Florida is being being through there on the canals. Oh yeah for sure little trailers hanging off with a I feel like we need to take Brady to like redneck Florida I am down to go redneck Florida.
SPEAKER_08Because I'm from Redneck South Carolina but I don't feel like that has anything in redneck Florida.
SPEAKER_02There's a lot more things that that'll get you in redneck there's a lot more things that'll kill you in redneck Florida.
SPEAKER_08We do have to worry about water moccasin but we don't have to worry about the swamp puppies.
SPEAKER_02You gotta worry about a lot more the water moccasins when you're going in redneck Florida.
SPEAKER_08One of the one of the funnest things to do in in South Carolina where I'm from is we'll go uh they call it floating down the river. Oh yeah yeah and that's oh my god so fun like my dad and he'll take us on the river every summer and that's literally so the river that we go is called the Saluda River and uh on the way up to the river to or on the way up to the sandbank where everyone you know docks their boats at and has like this big party thing there's a rope swing on the way and you can stop and swing off this rope and out to the river. Yeah so one year I uh I thought I was you know I'm a stunt guy and I'm professional wrestler so I'm thinking huh no reason oh no I was I was I was probably 30 when I did this so like recently well yeah that was super recent um so actually I was working on heels at the time so this is how old I was yeah yeah so um yeah so we're going up the river or whatever and my dad has this pontoon boat and uh my dad says he sees the swing or the the rope swing and he goes hey anybody want to go off of it so obviously me and my brother um he's a football coach in South Carolina still and like we're we've been athletes our entire life so we were like yeah we'll go off that rope swing so sure enough you know my brother went off to rope swing and it was you know he had a good time and then I was like I'm about to go off this thing and like me having the background I have like I'm gonna pull a backflip off this thing. Alright all right so huh yeah no it was it was a great idea in my mind. Yeah yeah so so the way this rope swing worked is you climb up this tree and you go out you grab the handle of the rope and you swing out over the river obviously and you release the handle and you're supposed to just drop it through the river. Well I swung down over the river and I let go and I went to do my backflip and as I did my backflip the rope wrapped around my leg as I did the backflip. Now I am free falling into this river with the rope wrapped around my leg. And it literally gave me the worst rope burn I have ever had in my life and to this day I still have a scar on the back of my leg where this rope burned me. Thankfully most where the veins are most yeah on the back of the leg so veins were safe. The veins were safe but the moose out yeah doing a show with me and you in your back there the worst thing I had ever like so bad flip and then it you're so yeah in midair I did the backflip somehow this rope got tangled around my leg and it like we were talking about the uh python squeezing you earlier like this basically did that across my leg the rope did and as I come down it just you just hit it it was it was awful and as I come down the rope just like around my leg and it burned the shit out of me.
SPEAKER_02I'm surprised you didn't dislocate your hip on the doing it as well.
SPEAKER_05I'm just a freak of nature man you know like it's just one time as a child strength man strength one time as a child I got rope burn on my ribs from the dry rotted rope on the swing set in our backyard. Yeah that hurt that it does we played on when we were kids that wasn't kids out it was not she wasn't dug in the ground she was placed on it and it did that that rope didn't change and it became just I mean if you would have if you would have accidentally hit a big glider around it that bitch would have gone on fire. You remember that? Yeah those those with the slide and then the then you had the two regular swings and then and then the child swing.
SPEAKER_02We had a trampoline once tried to do a backflip dim near died nothing more than growing up in Florida and going down a slide in the middle of the summer. Oh yeah bro and you almost hear your ass sizzle the whole metal slide? Yes you gotta push your you get stuck halfway through you gotta push yourself your legs are sweating and stuff it's nine million degrees yeah you're l you literally start smelling medium rare yeah I can now all the slides in Florida are plastic and I'm like you kids are soft was it Garrett I can't remember half the thing it's in Mount Dora.
SPEAKER_05It gives me this legendary wooden park everybody played on it was awesome. Like it was a when you say a wooden park made of wood made out of wood like slides everything yeah yeah yeah uh like a jungle kind of thing going on a wall of xylophone if you felt like just ling on down it you could also take a steering wheel and turn it as fast as you wanted. Pretend you were like a pirate hit that hit that pole slide down oh yeah no I know exactly what you're talking about. Batman twirly slide yes that's funny the the things that go like spin really like the tire swing was by J Oh yeah the tire swing like the old like that Gilbert Park that was the name of it Gilbert Park in Mountor and they had the big tractor tire swing and you could put five of your buddies on there too just full scent you ever see like we ever see one of those parks you can see three grown men just acting stupid. Bro you go you you put a tire swing at a outside on an outside bar and see what happens.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah no 100% people hang on it somebody gonna get stupid on it I promise you try to try to twist it like the old days but it's one of us one of us we are the stupid we oh we are those people we're 100% coke zero exactly hey man I was in college there was uh there's this thing and it the farmers used to use it and it would dump like 250 gallons of water just like crazy like they would pull up and it was like 50 cents and it would just like I mean just absolutely crazy amounts of water but like if you didn't put it in like you know like the like the whatever they were carrying the water in the thing would just lash back and forth like in like crazy. So we would go out there after some drinks everybody just throw on like shorts and then we'd just bring a bunch of coins out there and then we'd just see who could hang on to the fucking hose and like dude we were like flooding the fucking we like kind of flooded hose? Oh dude it was like it just hung down and it just like I mean it was like 20 seconds of 250 gallons water and that thing would just go back and forth. You just grab onto it and try and hold on it was like riding a bull it was crazy. Noodle red no I don't even remember what we call it we just did it. Got in a lot of trouble because we kind of flooded the soccer field that was right next to it. So because I was like we just did it for like an hour.
SPEAKER_05Oh yeah dumped like two and a half thousand gallons of water so I I can't remember I don't know if this was at US high school or what there was a senior prank done where they set five four goats loose in the school at night and painted on them one, two three and five so they thought one was missing that is hilarious to this day number four has never been I'm messing it up you'll have to look at Eustace High School I think it's Eustace High School.
SPEAKER_02That is fantastic that's a great prank I mean they tear the place up yeah dude goats are four goats on a high school a locked in high school people also do y'all realize that schools kind of look like prisons.
SPEAKER_08Yes yeah I know yeah and they kind of operate the same way if you really think about it. Yeah but um I got off on that but no that's all good. Sometimes when I'm out seeing Adreno the this trail that I've been running up early sauna we've been working out and uh struggling run by a school and it hit me I was like this place looks like a prison not a place of learning like this is a place of ants it's literally surrounded by our chain link fence which everybody thinks those people are freaking crazy and you have to and then the next thing Michael thought about is any goats around here we have any goats find a goat farm what a brilliant prank boot people also don't realize that's how yeah brilliant how we actually had terrible goats are so our old weightlifting coach in Saluda we uh we played a prank on him one one time um it was like the football team and his name was Coach Warrock and he drove this little like little beater car to to work every day and like this this car was tiny so like after football practice one day we thought it was funny that we were gonna hide his car so how we were going to hide his car we were gonna get four of the biggest football players on the team we literally picked his car up and moved it to a different parking spot to hide his car. They literally walked out inside and and coach war was like where where is my car at it was like really right it was literally right here. But yeah we had literally picked his car up and moved it to a total different spot but that was our idea of fun.
SPEAKER_05Yeah bro and it was fun for him it was great why because it showed that there's love and respect there because you messed with you you messed with people and he would mess with us right back.
SPEAKER_08I remember we were in the gym one day and I was doing my like uh set of bench press or something and I was like maxing out and I came up off the bench press and I had just hit a new max it was like 225 or something when I was in high school and he goes he he I was so proud of that moment because like I had just hit a mile marker in my mind I'm like this is 225 right and I get up and I'm like all pumped up or whatever and he he comes over to me and he looks at me he goes he goes what do you have hanging off your shirt right there and like it was like a string or whatever. Oh sorry that was your arm I'm sorry like I'm like oh okay well what you did he was he's like what's what you got hanging off your uh sleeve oh that's your arm I'm sorry with quickness quickness yeah so he he he was uh that was my first uh reality check that hey you ain't all that buddy check that you have to be your own sheer little buddy and then uh I remember I tried a squat max once and when I when I tell you this this I got under that bar and when I went to do my squat max I just bottomed out and he goes you'll get that next time I was like not a chance but he's like been there man yeah he's like he's like that's cool can you help me get this off or he's like why do you always show up when I can't do something yeah yeah and then when I do something he has something smart to say yeah yeah but that's I think that's like the greatest memories I have is just like that tough love you know like I get it dude like it is it is a struggle for people for parents and stuff with you know technology because let's be honest it's not going away it's only gonna get worse this AI stuff bro is scary dude there's like I saw like 20 autonomous cars in Atlanta driving oh yeah dude they're national what in the world they were all over is he peeing on a tree yeah he's gotta go to the pea tree easy man gerbil might jump out just watch him start screaming uh yeah yeah told you there was a possum the pee's silent or the o.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah a possum yeah the pea is very dominant it's very very dominant yeah hit you right up front it's really oversexing right now too over sex or so those are some dark woods too right there yeah you don't know what's out here no buddy you really I mean thank god we have Jesus this is that's like a really bad decision waiting to happen one night we're just gonna be hanging out be like you wanna go look in the woods and you're like ah fuck it let's go when the leaves are down you can walk forever down there.
SPEAKER_05It's beautiful the sun literally sets directly in my backyard. Yeah when I was here in December yeah the veins the veins scare the possums away yeah sorry guys I had to take a brief intermission there I couldn't hold it anymore guys I'm gonna be honest with you huh it's free it's freeing outside is a free sometimes I do that adrenus and she does not live in an area where you should be outside Well, you know, she doesn't live in the area that you should be out there. Yeah. Yeah, she's seen it. She did.
SPEAKER_08Wait, what are you talking about?
SPEAKER_05If he outside sometimes, oh yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. I mean, why not? Our ancestor. I sometimes my soul tells me deliver back to the earth. And I go, got it.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, sometimes you just gotta.
SPEAKER_02Here it is. Bro, where I live when I especially when it's cold out or something, I'm by a fire. I'm like, I'm not going in all the way inside. There's a tree right here.
SPEAKER_05Dude, it's a freeing feeling.
SPEAKER_02What am I doing?
SPEAKER_05Why? Being able just to breathe into the wind. You know what else is a freeing feeling? You ever just sneezed uncontrollably? Yeah. No, but like they're trying to hold it back.
SPEAKER_08Dude, my grandpa was notorious for that.
SPEAKER_05Mine too. And I get it early, which is dangerous because I don't know if he got it in his 30s, but I'm getting it. And I go, nothing feels better. Just letting it rip.
SPEAKER_08And it's funny because like you do it, and like people around you be like, that's dramatic. I'm like, no, that's not dramatic. That's that's that's a relaxed man. That's it.
SPEAKER_05That's a man that needed some tension released. I'm telling you.
SPEAKER_02Eight or nine times in a row.
SPEAKER_05Just it has to be eight or nine times in a row, bro. Even if it's one or two. I mean, I have gotten where I'm hitting three pretty steady. Yeah, it's like my grandfather. My grandpa would start. He'd get these sneezing attacks. Then he'd start, he'd start with it sneezing, and then you just hear him. And then he would go for so long that he'd cuss in between some.
SPEAKER_04Motherfucker. I can't remember.
SPEAKER_07And then he'd get mad at him. Stop laughing. I laugh my butt on.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, no, 100%.
SPEAKER_02Did your like grandpa or dad like ever you ever catch him talking to himself? Oh, all the time. Oh, dude, my dad, my dad talking to him. Like, it's so funny if you get into the back room and he's watching, like, dude, I've never seen a man watch more baseball in my life. And my dad will literally not miss like a Yankee game at this point.
SPEAKER_05Oh, like talking to the TV?
SPEAKER_02Oh, that and the news. Yeah, bro. I mean, dude, I have literally you I walk in the back in the back room, dude, and that'll talk to a TV. Oh bro, it's so funny.
SPEAKER_05I catch myself sometimes on the news. Oh my god, dang it, I'm turning into it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Oh, dude, I I did something the other day and I turned around and just walked in the other room and started la I literally picked up my phone and called my dad. I was just like, I don't know what just happened, but I just turned into you.
SPEAKER_08Or like the or like the stories that your dad or or grandpa would tell you when you're younger and you kind of didn't appreciate it then. You're like, eh, and you kind of blow it off, but then as you get older, you're like, eh, he he actually knew what he was talking about.
SPEAKER_02Dude, like now that I'm like real like older, I live next to a dude that lied about his age so he could go in the military and storm Normandy. He was like the youngest dude on on like Normandy Beach, he's like 16.
SPEAKER_05What's his name? Um podcast dude talks very calm. Not us. What's his name? I don't know. I got on my phone. He talks very young. Calm. Yeah, yeah. He's on it. He's his clips are on too. I follow him on uh I follow his podcast. Sean Ryan. Is it Sean Ryan? Sean Ryan's very monotone. Yes, Sean. Yeah, he's got he's he has a uh an old vet on his pod. An older guy. I don't know what he served in, but his stories are incredible. Like little clips I've seen, I haven't listened to it yet.
SPEAKER_02But I live next to this guy and you know I was too young to appreciate it. Now like if I was there, the the just the what I would I because he wrote a book and everything about it. Yeah, man. It just so would be so cool to like you know talk to talk about that.
SPEAKER_05Bro, all my friends except for like four dudes, five dudes. All my friends were like my grandparents' age time. My 16th birthday, bro, was mainly people in their 60s and 70s. That's great. Because I played music with my grandpa every weekend. Yeah. Some Thursday nights, some Thursday nights, Friday nights we play, Saturday night we play, Sunday we play. So it's all them. I was like, what do you do? I'm like, let's just have a big jam session. I had some I have friends in high school and stuff like that, but like, um But yeah, a lot of them was just these older dudes that were just playing. But here's the deal, man. I try and I, you know, we try to remind the stakiras like you gotta live, those what their that knowledge dies when they die.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, you know, there it's literally we're cup is we're coming into a a situation in today's world where like that generation is dying, and it's like it's so sad to see like the mentality behind those like the last guy that was in Pearl Harbor, I think, just died or something like that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think so. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05But it's like, man, everybody, and I get it, dude. Like I was very I was very lucky, like I've always been even as a kid, you know, had a had a connection with older people. I've I volunteered for four years in high school, I had a assisted living home for three days a week for four years. Um, played music there, played music with my grandpa, and I'd I would rather be with those guys on weekends than doing other stuff even in middle school, you know. But like, so I listened to all those guys, man, and like you had especially a lot of those dudes when we were in Flor, you know, being from Florida, all those guys are like people that come down for the winter. So all their grandkids are up north and stuff, you know? Oh yeah. So you have like 50 grandparents every year.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, dude.
SPEAKER_05Like, yeah, like but it was like, man, you listen to these old guys talk and and old women talk, dude, and and and you learn, dude. Look at dude, listen, I've I've turned back in time, bro. I got cast iron skillet. I tallowed my own beef tallow or rendered my own beef tallow the other day. Yeah. Nice. I'm buying from JoJo's Market, all fresh from the farm. I don't trust.
SPEAKER_08I s I still have to check out this Jojo's Jojo's market. I haven't been there yet.
SPEAKER_02My kid asked me the other day about my grandpa's and I never met I never had a grandpa. Like my my act like they all died like many years before I was born. And you know, it's like he he has both. And so it's like, you know, you the he's got a great grand like I I had great two grandmothers, like I never had a great grandmother, I never had a grandfather, right? Like, and so he's got like great grandmother, grandmothers and everything. Like how you know how lucky like you are for like you know, those types of yeah, dude, spend that time.
SPEAKER_05Also, grandparents will spoil you.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yes, big time. They don't care, they're gonna give you back. And secretly, they're like, Got you, you know, yeah, kid.
SPEAKER_02100%. Bro, my I take my kid somewhere, like down to his parents. Good luck.
SPEAKER_08And my good luck getting this, hell yeah.
SPEAKER_02They're like, look at how nice he like he dresses, and I was just like, Yeah, like thank his grandmother, because I'm not buying my kid fucking polo. Yeah, it's like, yeah, I know the clothes he wears for me is Walmart. Where are you getting this? Comes home and he's wearing a whole underarmor kit, and I'm like, where'd you get that? I'm like, who do you think?
SPEAKER_08And I'm like, Yeah, I I remember my grandma, she used to raise dogs, and so whenever she would do that, obviously you have to like clean up after them and stuff. And when I was coming up in high school, like that was my job is to like clean up after the dogs and stuff, and she would pay me an ungotful amount of money to the point where my mom was like, You have to stop paying him this much because it's gonna ruin him. Yeah, she was like, Giving you an unrealistic like video. No, a hundred percent. She was like, You're giving him an unrealistic expectation of like money, and I'm just like, hey, you gotta chill up. Like 200 a week. But like, but like that was when I was in That was a lot of money back when you were as a as like a middle schooler,$200 a week. So like I was not complaining. No, my mom was like, You gotta stop.
SPEAKER_02You can't even go to McDonald's anymore under like 20 bucks. I haven't been to McDonald's in forever. Dude, I we were talking about it.
SPEAKER_05I'm telling you, bro, I'm clean. Listen, we're on a we're on a mission, a machine building mission.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, we get right around here. We we we we uh we're gonna be uh those robots, but in human form. Yeah. Just like shredded and just it's gonna be ridiculous.
SPEAKER_05New bod. New pod. New bodies. New bod, new pod.
SPEAKER_02Fresh new veins in the legs, new veins, veins. Fresh new veins in the legs.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Yeah, the firelight is really showing off right now. And um I I really hate they missed that uh opening segment that we originally had.
SPEAKER_05Well, yeah, since y'all missed it, since Paul had Brady's mic muted. Uh Brady sat down, the fire was glowing. Sits down in these old basketball shorts and notices that his legs and his veins are popping out.
SPEAKER_04Because, God, when you look at these hikes the shorts up way easier.
SPEAKER_02I did, I did.
SPEAKER_08As soon as I sat down, I saw that. I was like, I gotta see what else is cooking under here, man. It cooked a lot of different things, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Rose some chiclets, dude. All of a sudden we get some horrible old eggs. What else has been happening? Oh, poor tiger.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Did y'all see The Masters, though? Did you watch Masters?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I did.
SPEAKER_05Oh, Rory, dude. I always feel like I say his name.
SPEAKER_02I don't like Rory.
SPEAKER_05I'll be honest with you.
SPEAKER_08No.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_08Not a huge Rory fan. Is there a reason why?
SPEAKER_02Uh he talked too much shit during the Ryder Cup, so now I don't like him at all.
SPEAKER_04I think people get so sick.
SPEAKER_02That that that America complex came out, comes out real hard. I'm like, all right. I hope everybody but you wins. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_05I think there's I think he's a good dude. I think there's I think he's somebody, bro. This dude was on late night television. His mom used to let him hit golf balls. His parents used to let him hit golf balls into her washer. When he was a kid. Into her what? Her washer. Like the front front load washer.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05This kid would just nail perfect hits at like eight years old. And he ends up on a late night show and he does it perfectly. He ends up on foul and he does it again. But dude, some of these shots this dude was taking. He's a he's a freak.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, they're like freaking natures.
SPEAKER_05And I suck at golf. Oh, I am. I've I've tried. I heard it's not bad. 76. You shot 76? I don't know. It's my lowest. You grew up playing a lot of golf, right?
SPEAKER_02Uh not well, I a little growing up, but when I was in college, um my buddy who's passed away ran uh he kind of managed the golf course that our school bought. So I would literally just call him at a and I can get out there and play 36 holes for free, just get in a golf cart and just go. So 36 holes?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I just bro, 18 holes, I'm dead.
SPEAKER_02I I like I really like to do good.
SPEAKER_05Well, you know, I love playing the game.
SPEAKER_08Well, so you know, and and here's another thing, like I'm I'm a professional wrestler, I do stunt work for m TV and film, but uh uh golf is a whole nother such a game. People will say, like, oh, like I, you know, that's such an easy sport. No, absolutely.
SPEAKER_05You watch did you watch you're watching the masters, dude, and a guy who is literally one of the best in the world, right? Up on the the one of the mecha tournaments that you can be a part of playing one of the best courses in the world shinks this thing like hard left. You know what I mean? And it's like you can also have a hole where you hit perfectly and you're like confident. You go set that ball on the next T and it's like you've never hit a golf ball. Yeah. And then you watch the Masters and you see this dude who's lit, it's damn near impossible, you know, to do what Rory did, like him or not. But if these dudes are shanking, you know, which I know basketball players miss, baseball players miss. You know, I mean, you're not gonna obviously hit everything, but it's just one of those sports, bro, that like no matter the best are still having bad days.
SPEAKER_0250 million people watching on TV. Yeah, yeah. I mean, it's it's uh it's it's very hard to play. It's fun, I enjoy it, but boy, and I mean I was when I was at my best, I would I would I mean I was hitting the ball over 300 yards.
SPEAKER_05Like I could really I've hit it over 300. I mean not consistent, but I have a couple times.
SPEAKER_02I don't I don't know if I've ever hit it 300 yards.
SPEAKER_08I don't think I don't I don't think I have I don't even know if I'd hit it 200 at this point, but I mean I'm I'd be honest with you, a night are at top golf and I'm down for the count for two weeks.
SPEAKER_02Use muscles, you're like, what in the world?
SPEAKER_08Well that yeah, yeah, it's like muscles that you never used before. And my brother, who is ridiculously good at golf, he would be good at golf.
SPEAKER_05He's good at golf. You've met him, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_08He would be good at golf. So good at golfing. He'll just tell me, he'll he'll try to teach me how to swing and stuff like that, and he he does it perfectly. And he said, You just gotta do it like this. And I'm like, that's easy for you to say. But then I get up there and I'm so damn awkward at swinging the club and all this stuff. And he's like, Oh, you just you're just too stiff. You gotta loosen those hips up. And I'm like, I'm trying, I'm loosening my hips up.
SPEAKER_05I got hit in the ass by a golf ball once. Yeah, that's from a the dude hit it from the T over. Really? Yeah, me and Kane Brown and and Jake Owen. We're playing watershed out in George Washington. The festival's not even out or around anymore, but one of my favorite festivals, beautiful place. Well, Kane had hit me up and he was like, Hey bro, I want to, I was gonna hit I mean Jake are gonna go go golfing. Would you like to go? And like I've I I have recently in the last like year and a half, you've seen me, I'll go to the driving range, you know, you know, when I can and play, you know, hit hit a few hours or whatever. But I've just recently started trying to really learn. But I've played the scramble tournaments and they're fun, you know, whatever, but it's a sport you have to commit to, and I'm a little busy, so it's hard to like golf as much, you know. Um but so I told him, I was like, Yeah, dude, I love to go, but like I'm not good. And at that Kane's gotten really good since. But at the time he had I don't know if he had just gotten to some golf clubs or whatever, but he is he was new to the game as well.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05But but he was he was still good. Kane's like one of those dudes who you could show him something once and then he just got it. You're right, right. You know what I mean? So like he's he's like natural to any sport. So uh Jake went to freaking college on a scholarship, but he's a freak, dude. He's yeah, dude, he would tell us where he was gonna put the ball, hit it, and it would go right where he said.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Like crazy, crazy stuff. Yeah. So did he play Georgia? No, Florida State. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Um so Jake, so Kane, so we're on the we're uh on the fairway. Kane's over in his golf cart with our buddy. And Jake was showing me, because you know, you hold a golf club and it's like, oh, if you just move your thumb a little to the left, and then all of a sudden you just hit the ball perfect, 200 yards. So, you know, just that little tiny weird movement. Don't hold it like this, hold it like this. So Jake was like, hey bro, let me show you something, man. So Jake shows me, and I'm like, oh, okay, I get it. And Jake steps away. Takes like two steps, thank God, or it would have hit him directly in his back. That would have sucked.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_05He turned and when he I went to say something, it was all thank God. He walked away. I turned to ask him something, and out of the corner of my eye did I see this purple missile, and I just hoist my side up, dude. Block it with my ass cheek. It hits me dead in the side of the ass, dude. And it drops. And I look and it sounded just like you just smack salmon. You know what I mean? It just down, dude. I don't even know how to make it sound. Kane watched the whole thing. Jacob, Jacob's walking away, but he heard it, and Kane just is looking at me like that. And it honestly didn't hurt. I was just like, what the purple ball? And I'm like, no way. And uh, and so Kane's like, dude, did you just get hit by a golf ball? Jake's like, did you get hit by a golf ball? And we look over in those golf cards, these two poor dudes, they were they were nice, dude. He didn't mean to, obviously. He was new to the game too, and he freaking just heat up, bro, and just whack the shit out of it, and they took a hard, hard, hard left, dude, hit me right in the ass. That's fantastic. Gnarliest Barus I've ever had in my life.
SPEAKER_08Oh, I can imagine. I can hurt well, they did hurt because I've been doing squads.
SPEAKER_02I got I got a donk, dude. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Have you not seen his ass? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's a really, really weird thing for you to say and how you said it. That's a really weird thing for you to answer. Uh, I didn't answer it. Uh in his dreams. I just I just sat there and I was like, I cannot believe Brady just said that, actually. Because he looked at me and like gave the eyebrow raise when he said it.
SPEAKER_05Well, you were over here eye tracing the veins in his life.
SPEAKER_08But listen, uh, we gotta we gotta hype our friends around here, okay? Yeah. However that happens, but hey, yeah, make me. Hey, what happens at the campfire stays at the campfire. What happens around the campfire stays in the campfire.
SPEAKER_05Comes out on Tuesday. Yeah. Brown pump for WrestleMania, though.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, no, WrestleMania's gonna be awesome. We were watching a little bit of SmackDown tonight. The Hall of Fame's on today.
SPEAKER_05Hall of Fame's on, we gotta watch that. It's freaking Mania Week, dude. Have you ever been out there for that? Or like a mania?
SPEAKER_07Well, you've been to Manias, right?
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I've been to uh three manias now.
SPEAKER_05I want to go, dude. My buddy Chad Ward, chat out Chad Ward with Traeger, my boy. Everybody thinks I can grill. I just literally takes him and he sends me exactly what to do.
SPEAKER_08No, he can grill, don't let him lie to you. I I can actually confirm that.
SPEAKER_05Well, I can. I've gotten good because of him and those guys. I mean because they've taught me. They've taught me how to like use the that backstrap was fire. That backstrap was really hard. So I don't think I did it.
SPEAKER_08He grilled, so Michael grilled two big ass chicken breasts last night. Like the biggest chicken breasts you've ever seen in your life. But they were from a farm.
SPEAKER_05I don't get it.
SPEAKER_08They were huge. They were huge. I kid you not. I like chickens. Literally, I yeah, no, a hundred percent.
SPEAKER_02Voluptuous.
SPEAKER_08They were freaking gigantic. And I just remember I did eat it. Michael, man. There's nothing Michael loves more than breasts. 100%. 100%. But these, the way he cooked them so tender. Like, look, I'll be the first to admit I will butcher a chicken breast to the point where I don't even eat them anymore.
SPEAKER_02Chicken is actually not the easiest thing to cook.
SPEAKER_08It's not, especially a chicken breast to keep it like what would you say? But that's what I'm saying. Like, his chicken breast is out of this world. And look, I thought it was just because of the Traeger. So one day I got the idea that's like, I'm gonna fire that Traeger up. I'm gonna cook these chicken breasts on this on this Traeger. Did not turn out the way. I was like, this is garbage.
SPEAKER_02Let me tell you about my ditty.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, and then and then the the reason why I say that is I see these chicken breasts and I'm like, they're they're way too thick. They're not gonna be like tender after you cook them. And then last night before we went to bed, I was like, hey Mike, you mind if I take a bit of this chicken breasts? And he's like, Yeah, man, go for it. The most tender chicken I've ever put in my mouth. After it had been sitting there for probably like a couple hours. And I was like, good lord. It was fire. Yeah, no, this man can cook.
SPEAKER_05Don't let anybody know I love cooking. Bro, during the thing again, like we didn't have much going on, you know, and I've always loved to grill, but like really like diving into it, like a creative space of it is a lot of fun. It is, you know, like I don't understand like when you watch a chef show, like I I I I love it, and I feel like I have gotten good at it, but yeah, I watch these chef shows and they're like, here's an avocado, a peach tree, two ants, and a side of pepper. And I need you to make a lemon pound cake. I don't know how they do it. And they do it 100%. Like, well, I I knew that if I took the sweet side of this, the spicy side of that, and put that there, I'm like, what the what are you talking about? Not a clue.
SPEAKER_02We we've cooked a little bit so far doing the show. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_08Oh, yeah, no. You when you cooked in Nashville, it was pretty bomb.
SPEAKER_02Just ask what did we do? Like a hash. Like we made like a breakfast hash, and then we did burgers and onions on the flat top.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that was that was really good. Those burgers were fire. Those burgers were nice, really nice.
SPEAKER_02The bacon tallow helped a lot in that as well.
SPEAKER_05Good tallow, bro. I'm telling you, dude. I'm I'm a couple crazy new things happen on the news, and I'm selling everything, getting a horse and carriage.
SPEAKER_08Speaking of things that happened on the news, I heard you, I heard you um you were on rock radio for getting missing in my time. Oh yeah. Fantastic story that uh you guys haven't heard.
SPEAKER_05Oh, that's right, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_08They yeah, well you've seen it. They've seen it through a Tim Instagram post.
SPEAKER_05Do you think the guys would like he goes, uh Snowmobile one day, and I go, Yeah, and he's like, I just took David Lee Murphy. David Lee Murphy is like in his late 60s, you know. One of the nicest, coolest dudes, a great songwriter, singer. But I'm like, okay, you're a snowmobile ride. We're just gonna be cruising, you know. He took he took David and his wife, dude, you know, but then I forgot I was talking to my buddy Tim. Yeah, yeah. And he's like, all right, cool. So I'm like, yeah, man, we'll do it. That'd be awesome. I call y'all, everybody's like, yeah, I'm down, it'd be fun. Something different to do, right? We're all from the south, so it's not like we get to do that all the time. We show up to this ranch where this guy uh gets paid to take people up a absolute massive nobody's been there mountain.
SPEAKER_08Literally, when he says no. Yeah. When he says nobody's been there, it's nobody's been there.
SPEAKER_05They give us snowmobiles that were made for the Olympics.
SPEAKER_02Quite literally. I'm thinking like backcountry, you know, maybe a little hill.
SPEAKER_05You know, there's some things in life that I just go, I assume everybody's thinking this. Right? I shouldn't have to ask if we're just going to be cruising on some snowmobiles, you know. And uh so we get to this little fun area, right? We're all riding around like little 10-year-old boys on motorcycles, just out there hitting it on a on a snow jet ski.
SPEAKER_02And now they're like, are you ready?
SPEAKER_05All right, now y'all warmed up. We're like warmed up. What? Brady hit one ramp, felt confident about it. Yeah, I was ready to go home. Yeah, he was like, Yeah, alright, I'm good. Good to go. Then we commence up a absolute trek. And as we were heading out, the heat warmers on my handrails were on. I guess we're on high. And so I was like, I couldn't hold it anymore. So I had to take the I figured out how to turn that off. Well, I figured out how to turn it off and I look up. Everybody's everybody's going, yeah. I'm just in the middle of the woods in the snow on a mountain. I can hear everybody, I can't see anybody. So then I thought y'all went one direction, and I go, okay. And I, of course, this is why I'm not a gambling guy. 50-50 shot. You know what I pick wrong one. I go straight into a freaking tree that had fallen in and the thing sinks down to a point where I can't get this thing out. So now I'm just sitting there. I can't. There's no cell phone service because in Wise River, Montana, unless you have Wi-Fi, you ain't calling nobody. There's nothing. There's nothing at all. I can hear you guys, but I can't see anybody now. I go, well, you've got to come back at some point. Now I'm laying there and I'm like, well, what if a b what if a cat comes out? Yeah, it's just like you're in the middle of Montana. What if a grizzly was out here chilling on a snow on a jet or a jet ski a snowmobile? Uh I go, I'm gonna die. So I'm like, well, I guess I'll just start walking. Well then I take two steps, sink to my armpits, bro.
SPEAKER_02You don't realize how deep the snow is. Until it swallows you. Yeah, like uh uh.
SPEAKER_05Like I was two pounds. Just I mean, I just swallowed me hole.
SPEAKER_02Get myself out of that. And we're not prepared either for the kind of snowmobiling we were doing where jeans and shit.
SPEAKER_08I had jeans and a regular pair of boots on. Like I was not prepared for this at all. Yeah. But Tim was like, hey, have you ever ridden a snowmobile before? And I I had ridden a snowmobile before, but the snowmobile I had been on, there was no chance of me ever turning it over.
SPEAKER_02No, and I never had to do the jump to the right, jump to the left thing. But it's crazy.
SPEAKER_05But they were my favorite part of it. Well, so to go back a little bit, so anyway, they all realized that I'm missing because they finally stop and do a head count and realize that there was one man down. Yeah. Well, they go, Well, he's probably just gone, he probably might have just stopped, said he had enough, went to the house. So the guide goes all the way down to the cabin, he comes up and goes, He ain't there and he ain't anywhere. Yeah, it was funny.
SPEAKER_02The other guy who was kind of like a guide, and then Tim starts going and looking for you, and then they all come back, and we have to start backtracking. We go back to this like field area and we're like sitting here talking about who's buddying with who.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, we were literally we were breaking up into teams to find in fairness though, we had already done one obituary.
SPEAKER_02Tim does Tim does Michael's obituary. So what's funny about that?
SPEAKER_08So like you you've heard 100%. So what's funny about that is like you've heard Michael's side of it, but our side of it is like we you we're on these snowmobiles and we go up this like one part of the terrain that's pretty difficult. So we all get up to the other side of that, and the the leader of the group was like, let's stop right here and make sure we have everybody because like that part of it's pretty hard, right? So we stop and like he does a head count, and like I think there was nine of us all together, including Michael, but he counted eight, and we're instantly gone.
SPEAKER_02It's Michael.
SPEAKER_08Well, yeah, and we count everybody, and we're like, Well, yeah, we were like, man, it's like, of course it is. Yeah, so we realized Michael's missing. Yeah, we literally we realized Michael miss is missing, and I was like, Oh, yeah, I think he was last. And I us, we were like, he's probably down at the training area where we were like doing you know things earlier.
SPEAKER_05That would have been cool with just be going there.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, that would yeah, that's probably where we should have stopped.
SPEAKER_02You saw the hills, right? Like when we're driving out there and you saw the like the hit the like the little hills and all the tracks, and we're like, Oh, that's gonna be fun because it's gonna be easy. No.
SPEAKER_08So what's funny is the the leader of the group. Do you remember what was his name?
SPEAKER_05I can't remember his name.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I can't remember his name.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, headbutt of the billy goat boys. Headbutt of the Billy Goat.
SPEAKER_08Like these are real kids, the most badass man you've ever met.
SPEAKER_05These ain't a joke. I mean, like, these dudes for fun go out there and just try to cause avalanches.
SPEAKER_08100%. So anyway, he real we realize we're missing Michael, and we kind of go like, oh, he's probably still down there. Like he had a problem with his snowmobile or something. So he told us all to like just stay put. I'll go get him and I'll bring him up. We're all cool. All right. So Tim has this great idea. He's like, let's let's fuck with it.
SPEAKER_02That wasn't Tim's idea. That was mine. That was your idea? That was mine. All right, well, I literally pull the phone out and I'm like, hey Tim, do his eulogy. And Tim's like, and Tim is more than happy. Yeah, Tim. Tim's always in the back. He jumped. He jumped on that very quickly. He's always in it.
SPEAKER_08He jumped on that very quickly. And so and like so did everybody else. Um but what's funny is that he goes down after Tim had recorded this and everybody recorded their little segment of it. He comes back and's like, Michael's not there. So he goes, Hang tight. I'm gonna run back to lodge just to make sure he didn't go back to the lodge to find maybe he's probably there. So he goes down to lodge, comes back, and he's like, Well, damn, he's not there either. I have no clue where he's at.
SPEAKER_02Hold on. Meanwhile, I'm also sitting on my fucking phone trying to find the goddamn satellite. And Brady's going, Brady goes, man, what are you trying to do? That motherfucker has no clue how to do that shit. It was dead. I'm over here trying to like pick up signals.
SPEAKER_05My phone was dead anyway, so it wouldn't matter.
SPEAKER_08So anyway, he makes it, he makes it back to us and he's like, he's not at odds either. And Tim goes, hey, you might want to delete that video.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely. And then we turn like a dandy do one.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, yeah. So uh so Danny records his, and so we all decide, like Paul was saying earlier, that we all decide to go back to our starting area and we were gonna break up into teams to find you. And it's like somewhere in the between that, like they ended up finding you, and we all went back to the meeting point where we had started from. So I was like, I kind of knew I was like, I need to record this part because like we're going into that like valley or it. I was like, I just I just kind of had an idea, like I need to get into the little bother, he's up on the thing, like like pumping everybody up, and I was like, I'm gonna record this motherfucker. So sure enough, sure enough, the funniest thing ever. I start recording, I was like, I know this is gonna go back. But when I went down that hill and start easing down that hill, and he gets to the point where he just rides it into the broad in slow motion, just into heavy, dude. Oh, dude, those those two.
SPEAKER_05My favorite part was so I'm also keep in mind, I I'm there to raise money for their local EMS. So in my mind, as I'm laying on this jet ski, I'm like, shit, man, am I gonna have to call the helicopter? Am I not being rescued by the helicopter? You know what I mean? Like the same people we're here to help raise money for. So yeah, well, it's like Michael Ray.
SPEAKER_08Uh we raise we raised$20,000 and then Michael Ray spent Michael Ray spent$50,000 to get him out of the You're debt and you gotta come back. Gotta come back, raise more money. But what's fun, what's even more funny, so he he ends up crashing the snowmobile into the bank again. As soon as he gets saved, he crashes it again. We dig him out again.
SPEAKER_02The fact that we lost him should have been like the thing of like we should just go back to like the bunny trail again.
SPEAKER_08But what's funny about that, the the most hilarious part to me, is that after all this happens, the leader of the group again, forget his name, but he goes, Well, let's let's let's trade snowmobiles because you have the hardest snowmobile to turn off yeah, oh yeah, then yeah, because they're pulling mine out, and then he gets on it to help pull it out, and he goes, Hey man, we'll just trade snowmobiles.
SPEAKER_05I'm like, Oh, you sure? He's like, Yeah. So this is this is like the hardest one to drive. Like, no wonder why you can't screw this thing, dude. Because bro, I would go in down that little hill and I was just I'm trying to turn this thing, and it's like, nah, man, no, you're going in that bush, dude.
SPEAKER_02Like, I think you do and it didn't make sense because it's like, you know, you know, you ever watch cars? He's like, turn right to go left, turn right to go left, and your brain's not computing as you're like turning the wrong way, and like it's going the other way.
SPEAKER_05So we continue up and we keep going, and then again we stop. Well, this is pretty up here. This is awesome. The guy's like, no, no, no, no, no. We gotta go all the way up here.
SPEAKER_02Another he was dead set on that.
SPEAKER_05And you get in this clean, this man's like, he's like, No, no, no, no, you gotta you gotta see the view. And I was like, How about you go up there? Because he was very talented at it. How about you go up there, take a picture, airdrop it to our body? Bring it back down to hell of a view over there.
SPEAKER_02We're all out there on the base of the hill. Michael turns around, he's just and he like fourth time, like it's now stuck, tipped over. I walk, I I co-write him like you good, and he's just like these motherfuckers like a Florida boy on this goddamn hill.
SPEAKER_05I'm like, I'm like, Tim, we are Olympic snowmobiles.
SPEAKER_08They're a legit Olympic snowmobile builds.
SPEAKER_05And then the cliff was on the other side, and these fools are like, Yeah, so when you go, you want to step off to the left, put all your left wait, lean all the way to the left, grab that rope, grab it on the other side, hit the throttle around, it's gonna kick the bass of it around, and then you're gonna hop on it and go. And I'm like, No.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, yeah. Why are we sound I mean what I should do at all?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, it felt like oh, and then and then when you're going up, you don't know, you're like, okay, so you're looking at where you want to go, you're like, okay, we're gonna go up there, cool. Yeah, when it gets up there, you'll it's gonna plateau out. Well, you don't know what's on the other side, so you don't know if like if you're gonna fall off the side of a mountain or something that you're about to pull into this little nice little bunny puddle of snow where you can just gallivant around, or if you're gonna go off the side of this mountain, and they're all just like, no, you're good. I'm like, no, buddy, we're not.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_05I don't know what's on the other side of that. I don't know what's happening right now. I'm out of breath. Yeah. We I thought I w I would have gone to bed at a we thought we were we thought we were going on a leisure time.
SPEAKER_07I thought I was going leisure with my pals.
SPEAKER_05A leisure snowmobile ride through the couple boots and some mistakes.
SPEAKER_02You get back to the we get back to the to the bar and it felt like we literally went 12 rounds.
SPEAKER_05Oh, dude. I got like I got my butt kicked. I mean, it was deals with you, I will say in a long time. In person being able to truly look at a spot where nobody's ever been. Yeah. You know, it was pretty cool. Like it was pretty, but then I realized we also had to get down. Yeah. Yes. That was a whole nother adventure. Yes. That was a whole nother event. Because now you got momentum behind you. Yes.
SPEAKER_02And that was and and and and it was it it was a lot steeper looking down than it was going up.
SPEAKER_05And they're just like, you gotta give her hell, full throttle. And I'm like, dude, let me tell you this. In my mind, I go, I understand you. Uh you are a professional, and I believe you. I'm not arguing with you. Yeah, yeah. I wish I could do that. Yeah. But in my mind, when I'm looking at the edge of a mountain, going full throttle is the last thing you want to do.
SPEAKER_02You know what I mean? You're just sitting here just picturing yourself, going, woo, yeah.
SPEAKER_05I'm like, yeah, this is not, and I've always said, if I meet Jesus because I decided to do something dumb, I'm gonna be so mad at myself. Oh, yeah, no, 100%. He's gonna be like, bro, I had so much planned for you. If you wouldn't have just gone on that snowmobile.
SPEAKER_08That snowmobile got you, bro. Yeah, yeah. What were you thinking?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah. But Tim never really, you know, it was fun. It was fun.
SPEAKER_08It was a good time, and it's something that I've got to be up there.
SPEAKER_05Wise River, Montana, Wise River Club. If you're in Montana, it's in between uh what uh uh Bozeman and uh uh But which is where Tim's from. But Wise River is a real great town, just incredible people. I was tell I've I always tell everybody about it because I love going there because it just it doesn't matter who you are, you know what I mean? They're there, they help. Yeah, they're a community that that leans on each other. They're just they're when you go there, dude, and you go to the bar and hang out or you go to a restaurant, everybody's hanging out and talking. It's like you step back to the early thousands or early 1990s. You know what I mean? Oh yeah. It's like everybody's hanging out, not everybody's on their phone. People are talking crap to each other, they're hanging out, they're they're bull crabbing, they're they're you know, they got their deer still in the back and the gun racks in the back, and no one's freaking out about this stuff. You know what I mean? And and you want to go side on your rifle here, just pull off the side of the highway. Here's your here's the here's the uh here's the spot right here, you know. So I love going out there. If you ever just we need to get away during the summertime, the fishing there's unreal. People come from all over to fish out there, but during the wintertime it's beautiful too. But y'all gotta go out there, see my boy Tim at Wiser, Montana. Prime ribs.
SPEAKER_02We'll say that after we got back beat up, tired, and everything. Eating elk strap and prime rib was phenomenal. It was nice.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, that's right.
SPEAKER_02Elk rib just ma he's just like, yeah, I think we had like three elk backstraps, and they just grilled it with like a bunch of garlic bread.
SPEAKER_05Well, Tim will get an elk, but then also like those those guys they just share, you know, hey man, I got extra meat. You need any you got you know what I mean? That's just uh you're a community, dude. It's it's awesome.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, it's it's it's amazing place. And I'll tell you something else about uh Tim Montana that you told me is when I well after we had hung out a couple of times, when I originally met Tim the first time, you were like, dude, Tim knows everybody. Like, and I obviously like I trusted that, but I got to experience that in real time when I was uh I was working on this uh movie that hasn't been released yet, but it's called How and it'll be coming out soon. But um, I was doubling the lead actor on that show, and his name is Alexander Ludwig, and we were sitting in the haired makeup trailer uh early morning, it was like 5 a.m. And uh me and Alexander were beside each other, and uh we worked on that TV show Heels together, and uh he it had been like probably three or four years since I had seen Alexander, and then he was like, Well, dude, what have you been up to lately and stuff? And so I told him, you know, what I've been doing. I told him like we recently took a trip out to Montana to do the like podcast stuff and all that kind of stuff. And he was like, dude, who do you who do you know in Montana that has all that like connections to like the snowmobile? Because I told him all the snowmobile story and all that stuff, and I was like, Well, he's a rock singer, his name is Tim Montana, um, and yada yada yada. And he goes, Dude, you know Tim Montana?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I did. I was like in that moment, but I was like, you know Tim?
SPEAKER_08So anyway, so Alexander is also signed to a record label in Nashville, and apparently Tim Montana is signed to the same record label that uh Alexander is, but it doesn't end there, that's not it. So learned this and haired makeup that Alexander and Tim are good friends. So then I actually go to set and I'm I meet another stunt guy there. His name is Cyrus, and uh me and him headed off pretty well, and he's like, dude, follow me on Instagram, like we'll stay connected or whatever, because like that's how the stuff works, is you just network with new people as as you meet them. So anyway, I followed him on Instagram, and later that night when I got offset, I started looking through his like social media stuff, and this dude literally had like his second column on Instagram had a reel of him in Wise River at the Wise River Club with Tim Montana. And I'm like, what in the world?
SPEAKER_05I told him Tim and Danielle family are literally in the Montana history books. Like the book that you get now about the state of Montana has a page with their photo in it. That is fantastic. They somehow, for whatever reason, mentioned Kid Rock, which has nothing to do with Montana, and they got his son, one of his sons' names wrong. But uh, I told him I go, bro, you're literally gonna be a wise tail in about a hundred years, you know what I mean? Oh, yeah. I heard that guy, Tim Montana, back in the day, used to, you know. Yeah, and uh, dude, like he's been one of my best friends for years. He'd tell me these crazy stories, so crazy that you're like, he's gotta be he's like, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And then my first time there, he'd been telling me that you know him and Billy and a few other people were going in on this place, and and it and it's a historic place, and the place that he grew up going to, his mom went to, like, it meant a lot to him. And and he's very proud to be from Montana and he he is very knowledgeable about all of it, the history about it, all of it. And uh, and so I'd known that they were willing to get it, and he finally gets it. Once he finally, this fool finally signs a record deal and then moves his family. I mean, he had a plan. Everything was planned. I'm gonna move to Montana, open this bar, we'll just do music from out there, you know, and that's what I'm gonna do. Some TV show talk. And uh right before he moves, he signs his first record deal in Nashville, moves his family to a town of 45 people, you know. Yeah, um but uh but the place is is is legendary, man, and it's it's been really cool to watch him watch him grow and and watch so many people.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, no, 100%. You know what I mean? Such a such a genuine person too, man.
SPEAKER_05Just you lose track of time out there, like nothing matters. You know what I mean? Oh yeah. Like before you know, you're like, oh my god, it's and there's nothing more breathtaking.
SPEAKER_08There's more there's nothing more breathtaking than like the the Montana sky at night. Because I remember we were uh we were up, like you said, pretty late one night, 4 a.m. And I remember I was like, all right guys, it's time to call it a night. And as I was walking back from the recording trailer that you guys used out there, I'm just walking back through the room and I just remember looking up to the sky and I'm just like you can touch them.
SPEAKER_07It's unreal.
SPEAKER_05Like they're pretty out here at my place, but like, dude, it has you know tonight it's a little cloudy right now, really tonight. But on a clear night, it's pretty incredible. You go out there, dude. It's like No, it's unreal. Like you you'll catch yourself just like staring at it.
SPEAKER_08Like you're that's what I did.
SPEAKER_02I literally looked up and I was like, wow. Yeah, it's wild out there, like actual wild. Yeah. You know, like you go in the wrong spots there, you ain't coming back out. No, no, no. They tell you about it, too. No, they tell you about it. Don't go there. Yeah, they tell you up front. Don't go there.
SPEAKER_05100%. What if we bring a guy on?
SPEAKER_02Like, still don't go there. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Like, okay, yeah, because we ain't going out in there to get you. But uh, yeah, that was fun. That was it. Anything else been happening? I know we got WrestleMania. I think we're gonna do a uh a pod with watching WrestleMania tomorrow and Sunday.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, yeah, for sure. That'd be a really good time.
SPEAKER_05Which one's tomorrow? I know.
SPEAKER_08Is it Cody and Cody and Ranger and tomorrow?
SPEAKER_05Saturday.
SPEAKER_08That's probably my one I'm looking forward to the most tomorrow.
SPEAKER_05For Saturday, yeah. I think the Drew McIntyre one and Festival. The Drew McIntyre is just gonna be a good match, I think.
SPEAKER_08But yeah. But let's be real, the real main event of that show is Lesnar versus Oh yeah, dude. Yeah, Lesnar versus Oma. Oba. Oba, yeah, yeah. That is gonna be the show stealer. Uba. Uba.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Dude, he he's on fire right now.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, he blew up so fast. And you know, like coming from a wrestling world, we do a lot of like wacky things, and usually the dumbest thing you can usually think of that like that you like if someone told you like so what's his name again? It's Uba. Uba. Uba. So he's uh he does this crazy walk, and it's the craziest thing you it's the craziest thing you've ever seen. I was like, why is that? Yeah, yeah. But it has caught the attention to every person in the audience, and they'll they'll literally mock his walk as he's walking out. Like, and then it's the craziest thing when you think about professional wrestling, you think like, oh, that's that'll never work. And it's that's usually what works, the dumbest thing you can do.
SPEAKER_05I'm proud of it, man to admit it. When I'm getting up early, hitting the bike, uh, 10 miles, grounding sauna. Sometimes I you'll put a little music on, feel good about myself.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, a little strut. I hit that Uber wall. I did the Uber wall in the shower. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_09A hundred percent. Now it's like myself. Yeah, nobody there. I just felt a need to strut it. That's that's how much you gotta do.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, no, it's uh it's uh it's uh I I truly feel like he's I know that is gonna be a good match.
SPEAKER_05It's gonna be great, man. Oh, Lesnar looks like he's a freaking tank.
SPEAKER_08Alright, so let's do this. What's your predictions on that match?
SPEAKER_05I don't know.
SPEAKER_08I know, I'm I'm torn about it.
SPEAKER_05It's Lesnar's retirement tour for sure. Yeah. So this is like his last last run of everything. Yeah. But Cena lost a couple times in his retirement tour. That's true. I think they have to put Uba over because if they don't, they're kind of gonna slow his momentum down in the trick and these dudes that are on fire right now, like they kind of have to win. If they don't, it's gonna slow down their because this is momentum that's from the fans. This isn't pushed.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_05You know, like they didn't there's nothing about his character that they could really push down your throat. You know? So like the fans just gravitated to him and his mic work is great.
SPEAKER_08Are you talking about Uber or Triumph? Both of Uh, both of them are great. Uber the other week, he started he he got on. His Monday night raw promo was great. Yeah. And I didn't realize he had. Such a good product.
SPEAKER_05I think they have to put him over.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, him and I.
SPEAKER_05I'm hoping Randy goes over.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I hope Randy uh goes over. I would choose Randy if I had to choose. Um Randy goes over as a champion. Uh yeah, Uba beats Lesnar and then uh Trick beats Sammy tomorrow. Is that tomorrow or is that Sunday? That's Sunday.
SPEAKER_05I think that's Sunday. And then CM Punk and uh Roman. I think they're gonna strap Roman up again. I think I'm gonna go with Roman.
SPEAKER_08Uh yeah, I think that's a safe bet. I think Roman um over in that.
SPEAKER_05Is this gonna be Paul's first WrestleMania? No. Oh, okay. No. Have you been to one or are you just one? Yeah, I've never been to one either.
SPEAKER_08I've been to three.
SPEAKER_05Um I was at the matchup where when I was a kid, Brock Lesnar put Big Show or Big Show put Brock Lesnar through the through the ring.
SPEAKER_08Oh yeah, the superplex through the ring. That was badass. They did it twice, but what was the it was Lesnar and show the first one.
SPEAKER_05First one, that's yeah, I was at that one. Yeah. One fifty bucks off the best sign.
SPEAKER_08There you go.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Fifty bucks?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, you know, in between because when they would shoot and they're gonna be able to do that.
SPEAKER_08I didn't realize they paid for that.
SPEAKER_05They would do these things and there was like some push, some promotion thing they were doing, you know, so they get like 25 all the way up to 50 bucks who had the best sign. Okay. And mine was something because the rock was talking about Poontang, remember at the time. Mine was something about that. I'm like 13 years old or 14 years old, whatever. And uh anyway, the dude like points, he says my sign out, he's in the ring, points, says my sign, reads it. He's like, you, and he boom, shoots it in a t-shirt and it had 50 bucks in it. Well then these two dudes who are like probably in their 20s or whatever, they run over to me. They're like five rows behind me.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05They run over. I'm a kid. My dad and my stepmom conveniently at the time are went to the concession stand. So I'm holding the seats down, right? So I'm like, they've announced the sign. I'm like, this I felt like the sign was pretty funny. I'm not I can't remember exactly what it was, but I thought it was pretty clever. I'm like, well, I'm I I got a chance. Yeah, yeah. So we got it, and then the guy's going to be like, that was for us. Well, well, why am I 14? What am I gonna do with the two dudes that are in their you know, 25 years old, right? So I'm like, all right, whatever.
SPEAKER_08What a douchebag.
SPEAKER_05Well, it backfired on him. So we go, we're sitting there, Karen, my stepmom sits on one side, and then I think I was in the middle. Dad was on one side, I think is how it was. I lean over to dad, I was like, Hey dad, I won 50 bucks, but those guys back there took it from me. My dad's like, Who? And he looks and he just and he's there up there and he looks at me, he goes, Those are two dudes? And I go, Yeah, bro, my dad. My dad walks up, grabs a woman by the shirt, says some shit to him. All I know is they gave him the 50 bucks back. My dad comes back, goes, Here's your$50.
SPEAKER_08Damn right he did. They damn right he did.
SPEAKER_05And then I went and spent it all on merch. W dad.
SPEAKER_08Hey, that's where they that's where they get you. They know they're gonna give you that 50 bucks, and you're going right to the concession.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, dude, that's why that's why I like bands and and movies that are like you know, YouTube songs, all this stuff that's designed for kids. Yeah, just think about it, bro. I was fortunate. I didn't have bills. 50 bucks, I'm here. Go see what I can buy a merch. Yeah, yeah. Or need what I'm gonna do. I'm in, I'm in middle school.
SPEAKER_02I take it 50 bucks now, you're gonna get like not you might get like nachos. Yeah, yeah, yeah. 50 bucks.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, 50 bucks you're gonna get a dollar menu.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, that's nothing now, especially in an arena. But uh, but yeah, I'm looking forward to Mania, man. It's gonna be a nice yeah, dude.
SPEAKER_05It's gonna be fun. Yeah, we should do a pod every night.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, 100% of it.
SPEAKER_05It'll be fun. We'll watch it.
SPEAKER_08Um then we can really recap it. When we really know who wins, we can we can share our our two cents. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, we'll do a recap of it. I'm a referee now, so I'm pretty pretty.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, you you have you have a lot of experience in the rest of the world now. Yeah, better than anyone. You pretty much you're you're the pretty basically the Charles Robinson of the NFW now.
SPEAKER_03I'm glad you've said it because I've been thinking.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, 100%. I have to get you in contact with Charles.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I'll inspire him. I'll help him out. Yeah, yeah. Give him a little point.
SPEAKER_08I was like, uh You know, I noticed that too.
SPEAKER_05I'll talk to him. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_08Give him some proof. Go referee with it, but I'm just kidding. He's like a GOAT referee. He's literally the greatest of all time. He's listening. And like listen, Charles is the most, he's the nicest guy ever, and he's he's fantastic. I've known Charles for probably 10 years now.
SPEAKER_05He was Lil Flair, wasn't he? Or what was it? Lil Natch. Lil' Natch, that's right. Lil' Natch did so good.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, he did the Natch impersonation for WCW, and that was uh it was classic. But dude, the the then here's another guy, like he's been doing it forever, and it's just like he hasn't aged a bit.
SPEAKER_05Like he's gotta take care of yourself. That's why I'm cooking a cast iron now. Yeah. That's why I'm eating, I'm rendering my own tallow.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_05I'm pretty much a late 1800s housewife.
SPEAKER_08That's it. That's it.
SPEAKER_05And isn't female. And it's not female. It's not a housewife. Yeah, dude. Well, that's why they were all healthier, but you know, and the healthier you get, the healthier you live, the better you're gonna look. And that dude's freaking he's still at it, bro.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, he's great, man. He's he's been he's been doing it forever, and he's legit made a career out of it. So yeah, it's awesome to see. And he and even more so that he's just a just a genuine person. He's uh he's really cool.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, it's been fun getting all those dudes, man. You know, I think there's something when you've when you've had a dream about doing something and you end up, you know, thankfully doing it for a living, and you get to meet your heroes. There's there was a time like when I was the guy that was opening for everybody coming in Florida, you know, I I was meeting all these guys, you know. So I kind of had more of like a respect for who what they did, but it was kind of like I expected to meet them at some point. I don't know what that I don't know what it was something that I felt, you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. I'm probably gonna meet these guys, you know. Yeah, but it was like the wrestlers I grew up watching. I was like, I'm probably never gonna meet those guys dudes or whatever. So which is kind of cool. It's kind of what keeps the fan part of it. Now here you are FaceTiming for him.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, now I'm trying to get played on the phone before you he did text me the next day checking on me, though.
SPEAKER_05I was like, Yeah, buddy, my bad. 100%. I'll explain it to you. You'll understand.
SPEAKER_08And it's it's crazy how like you, you know, obviously you grew up as a wrestling fan, and then all you know, not long ago you had a stint with AEW where you had a run in with Ricochet.
SPEAKER_05Running his trap.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, he was running his trap, and uh, you know, he dared you to cross that line and you did. Jumped over. You jumped right on over.
SPEAKER_05He tried to spam me a little bit, but he barely got me. Yeah. We got those big ass security goons with him.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, those guys, yeah. They're not scaring nobody.
SPEAKER_05I want to talk a lot of shit on the country singer, but I didn't have any all the security was on me.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. That was a that was a uh that was a wild night in many ways, is the fact that like we got there and we didn't really like we had an idea that something was gonna happen, but we didn't really know what was gonna happen.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Kind of thing. So we were in the back and uh buddy of mine, Kevin Matthews, we were standing there and I was talking to him. And Kevin is uh I get I I think he's like the producer of uh Dynamite and Collision. And I've known Kevin for a long time. And like I said earlier, I was like, we knew we knew we were gonna do something, but we didn't know exactly what we were doing. And I remember Kevin comes up to me and he goes, You're a big country music fan. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, this guy's a big dude from like Brooklyn. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_08He's like Brooklyn, New York, just you know, he's not he's not in our country demographic, yeah, yeah, has no idea. Yeah, um, but obviously we'd been around each other and he knows my love for country music. And he comes up to me, he's like, You're a big country fan, so I know who you'll know who this is. He goes, Do you know who a Michael Ray is? And Michael Ray was standing right beside me. I was like, Yeah, he's right here, man.
SPEAKER_05Hey man, what's up with Michael's? Yeah, my bad. You're good. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But uh man, it's like yo, hanging with Scotty. Oh, Scotty too hoty, the reason why I tried to learn the worm when I was a kid. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Those guys, they're they're awesome, man. It's fun. It's it's I don't know. It's I think I think it's good as you get older, like have those things that are kind of remind you of being a kid. Yeah. You know, absolutely. And it kind of just keeps you youthful, and that's kind of what wrestling always been. And also, like, with this whole, you know, getting ready for new music and you know, really, you know, this health journey and mental health journey and everything I've been doing, man, it's like you're you there's a rebrand there, you know, in a lot of ways. And like wrestlers will go through 15 different gimmicks before something works. You know, yeah, they'll give every one of them 100%. 100%. Yeah, you have to, man. It might be the dumbest thing, and you might hate it, but they give it all just to see, you know, just for the and then if they don't, guess what? They go right back to the drawing board and they go, Okay, that didn't work. What am I gonna do? And then they show up next as it's new and they give 100%. It's it's been so.
SPEAKER_08Well, I think that's a telltale sign of what I was saying earlier, is like with the om the Uber wall where he does that, and it's like most people would look at that and be like, that's dumb. But like, guess what? He did it and it got over.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so like it worked for him.
SPEAKER_05Be confident with it.
SPEAKER_02Everybody's got their like yeah, all three of us could probably walk into a room, say something the other one says, and it would go over totally different. Yeah, totally different.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, so yeah, I think it's about trial and error. Like you try something, if it doesn't work, like Michael said, you just try it again until it's a good thing.
SPEAKER_05I've that's how I've always looked at it. I've always had such respect for professional wrestlers and all the mixed martial arts guys, and you know people don't realize, dude, that like well I guess not so much now. Well, the independent circuit they still are, but you know, there's a time, dude. They're wrestling seven times a week, you know.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah, no, it's so goal is to have offstage America at WrestleMania next year and talking to all the dudes that are gonna be in it.
SPEAKER_05Oh yeah. Yeah, and then that's a goal, really.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Well you gotta match. You still have some unfinished business with it. You have some unfinished business.
SPEAKER_05Me and Brady get to call it. Yeah, yeah. Give it a QT.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. That's it's funny though, man. It's funny how life works.
SPEAKER_05It's fun, man. Well, we're going to uh we're gonna refill the drinks. We're gonna do this more little bonfire hang talk, just catch up with everybody and uh keep everybody informed on what's happening. Hope everybody's good out there. Love you guys, off stage America. We'll talk to y'all. WrestleMania, right? Yeah. Day one. Let's go. Love you guys.
