Hello everyone, I hope you’ve had a beautiful week. Last week I gave examples of five Ego Degradation symptoms, and this week I will give you five more symptoms to look at. For a bit of background, I coined the term Ego Degradation to explain the physicality of what occurs when we begin to awaken. Awakening does not have physical symptoms, but Ego Degradation does, and it’s the cause of the Ego breaking down in order to remember that you are not separate from everything else; you are not alone; you are, in fact, the universe manifested in physical form, and it’s only the Ego that makes you feel differently. My book being released next year, called “Ego Degradation,” will go through all of the symptoms of an Ego Degradation, but as a refresher for those of you who are new to this concept, Ego Degradation symptoms may begin to show up when you are either at your Ego’s perceived rock bottom, or when you are at your literal rock bottom and the Ego has no choice but to reevaluate everything it has previously perceived. Ego Degradation does not last a short amount of time, such as a few days or a week. It lasts for months, and when we come out of it, the mind is completely changed, and most likely, our personalities as well.

I’m going to speak about 5 more Ego Degradation symptoms, and again, this is nowhere near the full extent of the symptoms possible. They are not in chronological order, and if you’re only experiencing one or two, chances are you’re not having an Ego Degradation. Please let me remind you to always check with a doctor before self-diagnosing with Ego Degradation, when it instead could be something physical.

The first is dissociation. If you feel like you are walking around drunk or like you’re swimming underwater and can’t see clearly, this feeling is dissociation, and it is a common trauma response so your brain doesn’t have to deal with its perceived reality. The Ego breaking down is stressful, it’s traumatic to the Ego itself, and it will do everything possible to escape. If you have gone through a lot of trauma in your life, dissociation may be the first symptom of Ego Degradation that you feel. Just remember that you’re safe, and in order to ground yourself a bit, name things around you out loud: green chair, yellow coffee mug, cream tufted rug, etc.

Second is feeling lost. You may be going about your life, hanging with your friends, working your job, and then all of a sudden feel like you have no idea what you’re doing. Your job doesn’t make sense anymore, you don’t know what you want to do, you don’t know how to get to this imaginary place where things will be better, and you just feel…lost. There can also be a feeling of hopelessness in this stage. It can be overwhelming, scary, and irritating, but that is the Ego trying to pull you back in and make you care about things that don’t matter except to the Ego. It is during this Ego Degradation symptom that people can become depressed, anxious, and overly emotional, believing that they’ll never get out.

Third is the desire to be left alone. This overwhelming desire is not because you’re stressed or just need to decompress, but it’s a deep, unencumbered, and true feeling of need to just be left alone. Talking to people is exhausting. The mere thought of talking to people is exhausting. Being around anyone is exhausting. Texting is exhausting. Looking at social media is exhausting. Anything that has to do with anyone else and their Egoic constructs is an absolute nightmare to you, and instead, you just want to practice things that you believe will bring inner peace: meditation, creation, reading, journaling, listening to music, walking in nature, doing yoga…anything that keeps you away from other people’s drama, but makes you feel like you are growing on your own terms.

The fourth is feeling misunderstood by everyone, which is a very difficult and isolating Ego Degradation symptom. Maybe you’ve started becoming more spiritual and everyone thinks you’re crazy. Maybe people no longer understand how to communicate with you and vice versa. Maybe you’re getting exhausted by people and feel like you can’t be around them. What you’re going through seems extreme to others, and they try to pull you out by doing the only thing they know how to do…play on the Ego. They try to remind you of things you once loved, try to ply you with alcohol on a night out or try to get you to go out more in general. They talk about things that your old Ego used to attach value to. But old inside jokes are no longer funny. Other people’s drama is no longer affecting you and therefore you don’t partake. You don’t care about TV shows people are watching, or politics, or what your partner’s job stresses are. And because you are finally seeing through the Egoic nonsense, no one understands what’s happening to you, and they judge you for your changes. This may also lead you to actively search for a new community who can understand you.

The fifth is being terrified by your own mind and what is happening to you. If you feel like the world is closing in on you, if everything is triggering you or making you spiral; if you’re scared of the thoughts you’re having or the hole your Ego finds itself in when everything was fine a week or a month ago, this is a big sign of Ego Degradation. Ego Degradation makes you question everything you thought you knew, believed, liked, disliked, desired, and when the Ego begins to break down, you start to see just how much control the Ego had over your daily life. You realize that nothing that your Ego thought is real, and you get a glimpse of being interconnected with everything, or the understanding that duality is a mental construct. Your Ego changes, your value systems alter, and you start seeing everything from a universal, macro viewpoint, unable to allow your Ego to go back to being a cog in a mentally stimulating 3D perceived world.

If you are having these symptoms and the symptoms listed in the last podcast, please know that you are okay, and the Higher Self is giving you a gift of remembering who and what you are: the universe manifested in physical form. Try to submit as much as possible, and give yourself the room you need to get through your Ego Degradation in as little pain as possible. You’re doing great. Until next week, all my best and highest vibrations to you.
