Eight years old tomorrow, and I thought it would be fun to do a little interview of my little chicken nugget. Does that sound fine? Yeah. All right, well let's jump into the episode, but first I think people need to get to know my little Mila bug a little bit more. So what, what do I always call you? What? What are your nicknames? Buggy, Ru buggy, um, what does Gigi call you? Pumpkin. Pumpkin and Uncle Ryan. Mm. Baby Mila. Baby Mila. And, and then just sometimes it's whatever food I think of at the time. Chicken nugget, sweet pea, all of that. She sh she, she sometimes says like, my little chicken nugget. My little chicken nugget. Yeah. That's the one I'm on right now. But it kind of changes. Yeah. Well, Courtney and I always do what, what are we drinking? So we'll tell people about kinda what we're doing today, but first let's start with what we're drinking. So what are you drinking? A try a grande chai tea from Starbucks. Oh, so good. I always love that one. And I'm drinking a caramel cream. Cold brew, geez. Say that five times fast. Caramel cream, cold brew. Um, also from Starbucks. I am not a big Starbucks fan, but Mila is. So that's where we went. Yep. For my birthday. Yep. For your birthday day. So today is Mila Day. Do you wanna tell people what Mila Day is? So it's kind of just like a yes. Day, all day. Like, so, like if like I wanna go somewhere and we have plans, then it's kind of like a yes. Mm-hmm. Yeah. But like, I, I wouldn't wanna go somewhere where like you have to spend money to go in there. Like, I would rather do like, like Arrowhead Mall. You know, like, I'm gonna spend money, I'm gonna spend money in there. I like to get in there. You have to spend money. Oh, okay. Yeah. But like, like the park. Yeah. And like, you like to just like do a lot of things. I, I'm okay. You're, you're fine. You can spend as much of my money today as you want. But thanks for thinking of that. I'm not, I'm gonna try to spend, not spend a lot. It's totally fine. It's your birthday. That's totally fine. Um, and we've been doing this since your first birthday. Yep. But last year we surprised you with Disneyland. So m and day looked a little bit different. Yep. Last year. But yeah, every single year we. We do meal a day and it usually consists of, well one starting with whatever breakfast you want. Mm-hmm. And this year it's usually Starbucks. Yeah. And uh, and then we do a play place or uhhuh, like a park or whatever you want. Um, whatever you're feeling. And then you buy your own presents. Well, you pick out your own presents. Yeah. You don't buy them. Yeah, we buy them. Yeah. But we usually do target. Yeah. This year you wanna do Arrowhead Mall? Yeah. And, and I might wanna stop by Lush. Uh Oh, by Lush. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Lush is a, um, lush is a, um, it's like a bath bomb place where you can like, make your own bath bombs or you can buy bath bombs. Like there's even a minion bath bomb. Oh. They always have really cool stuff. Yeah. I'm, I'm excited to go in there. I'll probably get myself something too. Okay. What do you wanna start with? Um, I just wanna start from the first one. Okay. What do you think? All right, well, this is what is the best thing about being eight. Um, you get to do bigger things and it just feels good to be older, but, uh, not for parents. Do I cry a lot? Do you cry a lot? Yeah, we are. We're definitely criers, but do you ever cry about getting older? Do you ever No. I feel great to be older. Oh, I definitely cry. I definitely cry. What is your favorite thing about your birthday every year? My favorite thing. My birthday every year, um, that just like surprises and like going places that I, that I want to go and we can do that. Mm-hmm. Yeah. I love all the quality time that we get. Yeah. Yeah. It's so fun. What is, oh, if you were mom for a day, what would you change immediately? Um. I would probably, oh my God. I have tried everything to make her bed identical to my bed. It. We even have the topper, we have the cooling blanket, everything, but no, no. You just love my bed. Yeah. 'cause like the comforter on it, like the comforter on it, like not the comforter, but like the, what do you call it? Like the. Like what we lay on. Yeah. Um, that's the mattress topper. Yes. Um, the mattress topper is actually different because yours is way thicker and you guys like sink down. Like that one sinks down more than mine. 'cause mine is only like that big. Mm-hmm. And your guys' is like, it's not that big. Oh my gosh. It's not that big. Well, I totally get it. Our bed is comfy, but So is yours. So is yours. Yeah. Yeah. Well, let's do an easy one. What's your favorite food? Well, not together, but mac and cheese, broccoli. Um, potatoes. Sushi. Sushi, pizza, crab, crab. I have a lot of favorites. What's your favorite thing that I make? I think I know this. We just talked about it in the car. A chicken that you make with pasta? That or Ooh. Or is it sushi tacos? I don't know. They're both my, they're both my top favorite. About what you make. They are. Yeah. What is your favorite thing about school? Ooh, um, recess, pe, math. You're really good at math. Yeah. Yeah. That's fun. Mm-hmm. I feel like there is, there's also a, um, guardians of the Galaxy ride over there. Oh my God. I thought that was your favorite ride. That was so sketchy. That was so freaking sketchy. My favorite was, um, definitely not the carousel. No. Oh, no, no. Not the car. Like the spinny. Is that what a spelling is? Oh no, the Ferris wheel. Yeah, Ferris Wheel. Oh. My God. That was the scariest ride. Yeah. Like I thought we were about to fling off, off into that ocean. I swear it was a pond. No it wasn't. It was not. It wasn't an ocean. Yeah, it was 'cause Did you see, did you see it end anywhere? It went way off into the distance. Yeah. I saw the rat. What? Where were you? It was a pond. All right. I'm, we're not, we could argue about this all day. All right. What is something that you're really proud of yourself for? Mm, being a good kid, a good friend. Yeah. I agree with all that. Yeah. And a wonderful daughter. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. If you had a podcast, what would you talk about? You mom, nerd. Um, when I'm drinking I'll ask, I'll ask you guys questions. Well, I'll have to get Dad on a podcast. If I did have that, you would? Yeah, I would literally force him. Yeah. Like I don't care, but I will force him. You know what you should tell the, um, the people who are listening who the float that you made last night, they might wanna try it. What float? The orange Sherbert. Oh, okay. So if you go to Circle K, they're, um, you have to get these, they, they're. They're last in stock. They're last in stock. So they're SpongeBob ops called, um, pineapple Paradise. And if you go to the store and if you buy a Sherbert, then. There will be orange sherbert, and then if, if you take like three big scoops of that, put it in a cup and then put the Pineapple Paradise op in, then it is good. It's good. I'm glad you didn't do root beer. Yeah. Yeah. You almost did. Yeah. I almost did a root beer. We love op. Huh? Yep. Yep. We love our op, but you guys have to try that float. It looked really good. Yeah. There's only a couple left. Yeah. I know Circle K said that they're, they're done with them. So you guys have to get your hands on the Pineapple Paradise lollipop. Yeah. Otherwise you won't be, if you don't do it soon, then you won't be able to try it. Agree. Yeah. So, few more questions and then I will let you finish your Starbucks. Okay. Um, what. Hmm. Where do you wanna live when you grow up? Um, in a big, beautiful house. I love that. Are you gonna have a dog? Yes. Are you gonna have a few dogs? Actually, I might get like two maybe. Okay. Maybe two. Yeah. Yeah. What kind of dogs? Um, maybe like a gold golden retriever. Oh. They're so sweet. You don't want a Frenchy like nerd? Well, I might get one Frenchy and one puppy retriever. Okay. Well the puppy will grow up. Yeah, I know, I know that. And a baby Otter. Then I might live in California then, because they're not, they're not allowed. Like you have to move with me. I do. To California. Oh, of course. Of course. You think you're gonna ditch me? Definitely not. Definitely What do you wanna be when you grow up? Um, I, uh, actually maybe a vet. I think that's a great answer. Yeah. Vet you love animals? Mm-hmm. I do. Yeah. You have a big heart with animals. Yeah. Well, I'll pick a couple. Okay. Um, what wa what was I like as a baby? Okay. I just did a podcast on this. Like yesterday, so your first couple months were rough. Me and you were both just trying to figure it out. You were brand new to the world and I was a brand new mom and we both cried a lot. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We both cried a lot. And then. You smiled for the first time and you just, your little personality just sort of poking through. Um, you did have some different medical issues so we don't have to go to the hospital a lot 'cause you threw up all the time on everything. Yeah. Yeah. And um. You know? Yeah. Yeah. A lot of stuff happened. Yeah. I was a baby. Yeah. A lot of stuff happened. Mm-hmm. So we went through a lot. We learned a lot. And is that normal for a baby to have all of those issues? Um, it can be. Oh, it can be, yeah. Okay. Yeah, it can be. Yeah. At least I got it all fixed. Yeah. I'm glad you're not throwing up on me all the time. Yeah. Yeah. But no, you were, you were so wonderful. You were so, so wonderful. Okay. What was your first thought when you found out you were having me? Oh, I was so excited. I was so excited. Did when, um, did, did, um, did you think it was gonna be a boy or a girl? I thought, I thought you were gonna be a boy. I even had a boy name picked out. What was it gonna be? Jonathan Jace. What? Yeah. That was gonna be your name. I totally was convinced that you were gonna be a boy. And then did, did you want a boy? I was okay with either one. Oh, yeah. I, I just wanted a healthy, happy baby. And, and then me and dad go to the doctor and they were, they were like, do you wanna know? And we were like, yeah, yeah, tell us. And then they were like, it's a baby girl. And dad picked out your name. Oh, dad did? Mm-hmm. Dang. Okay. Okay. Okay. I'll go to the next one. What makes, what makes you the most proud of me? Oh man, you're gonna make me cry. Your heart. Your heart. You are so incredibly kind and you think of everyone first and you. You're just really gentle and you're really caring, and you're so funny and you're so smart. And I just love you. I love you too. Okay. What do you hope I never forget how much I love you? I love you. Okay. Um, what's something you love about being my mom? Everything. You are my bestie. You are my best friend. I love, I love our talks. Mm-hmm. Right. Well except for the hard ones, but aren't you okay. At the end of the hard ones? Yeah. Aren't you glad that that's how we handle situations? Yeah. Then like the next day I'm like, oh, it's a new day. It's a new day. Yep. It's a new day. Like I, like in the morning I just forget all about it. And then like in the afternoon I remember, but then I'm like, I'll leave that behind. Yeah. Because we talk about things and then we just let, let it go. What the heck is that? Is that a fly? Uh, probably. Um, what's something you learned? Because of me better patience. Okay. Was I German? Was I a dramatic toddler? A little bit, but No, you weren't. You weren't that bad. These are the funny ones. I know you're, you were like dramatic in a funny way. Mm-hmm. But you didn't really have like a lot of like, meltdown freakouts. Oh, okay. Who's more stubborn? Me or you? You. What does that mean? Like. Like you always need to be right. Okay. What's something I do? That secret secretly annoys you when you tell me something and I don't respond. So you say it again and again and again. Yeah, and I'm like, I. Heard it. Yeah, but you don't respond. So if I'll, I won't keep doing that if you don't, if you respond. Okay, fine. Okay. Did you ever think about sending me back? Oh my god, that one was funny. Okay. Okay. What's the most embarrassing mom moment you. Mom mo moment you've ever had? I don't know. Go to the next one. Okay. Do you think I am more like you or dad? I think you're a good mix. I think I'm more like you 'cause I cry. Oh yes, I cry and I'm a girl. But with you and dad, you guys get rowdy together. Yeah. Yeah. But well, sometimes I, I do. 'cause he's being a jerk. So you put him in his place? Yeah. I freaking give him a SmackDown. What's something I say that makes you laugh every time? A lot of things. Uh, I think you're really, really funny, but do you remember that one face that you do like that one? Yes. Okay. Here. Okay. What did you want to be when you were eight? Yvette. Okay. What were you scared of as a kid? Everything in the wind. I'm still afraid of. The wind freaks me out. Um, I'm scared of the dark. Mm-hmm. Yeah. You won't even go into the hallway to get a drink. Yeah, I won't. Yeah. 'cause like when your, your room is pitch black. Just the way I like it. Oh my God. I like it better with the TV on in there. I can't sleep with that. I can. What were you, oh yeah, I just said that one. Um, what's the hardest thing about being a grownup? Mm. Responsibilities. Like I, we have to like, pay bills and stuff. Like, that's not fun. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Do adults ever feel confused? Yeah. For sure. I don't have it all figured out. I'm living life for the first time too. Okay. Do you still have dreams you're chasing? Yes, absolutely. I want to be a food content creator. I want to go onto a cooking show and I want to. Get a bigger house. Yep. And yeah, it shows lots of dreams and I want to go and, and a bigger front yard. And a bigger front yard. And I wanna go to New York City for Christmas. Oh Okay. What do you think I'll be like at 16? Well, you're gonna be driving. Yep. And I honestly, I think that you're gonna be a really great teen. I think that you're probably gonna be in, you know, you're gonna have a good group of friends, Uhhuh to hang out with Uhhuh. You are gonna be. Like a, a kindness leader, like I think that you're gonna show. Mm-hmm. Like one thing that you do really well is you stand up to bullies and you just like, don't put up with it. Yeah. And I think you'll show other kids how good it is to be kind and yeah. You are gonna be such a good kid always. What do you think I'll be famous for? Oh wow. Um, if you were famous. I don't know. I don't know. Like you are, it can be so many things. I mean, we've talked about like you creating things like, 'cause you're like, you're really crafty and like you're really good at that. But also too, you like when you learn things you pick it up quick. So it can be anything. It could be the drums, you know, it could be. I don't know if it'll be cooking. 'cause you don't like to cook with me that much. Yeah, not really, but my boyfriend will. Yeah. Well, yeah. You better find, yeah. Your, your man. Better cook because I, I dunno. Okay. Do you think I'll move away when I grow up? Well, I don't wanna live in California so I can get a fricking otter. I want an otter. You might, you might move away. Wait, I, I think they said that the, that they're not allowed in Arizona. Yeah. I don't think they're legal in Arizona. But why does it have to be in Arizona? Why? I dunno. But on and Otter. Yeah. I mean, there's so many beautiful places to live. So if you moved away and you wanted to find a new, you know, new place, a new start, I'm, I'll always support you. Yeah. I'm just gonna come with, yeah. And same with dad. He better pack his bags. Okay. What do you hope our re our relation relationship is like? When I'm older, I say the same. The same? Yeah. That si. Mm-hmm. Will you still let me cuddle you when I'm 30? Yeah, of course. Thank you for being on. Oh. You were a great podcast host and a great guest and thank you for just being my daughter and being my best friend and eight years old is gonna be so wonderful. And I can't keep talking 'cause I will cry. You can already see me. Yes. Hearing comes. I love you. I love you. Thanks for listening. Bye bye. Ooh, that felt good. Isn't it fun? Yeah. Yeah.
