I'm Court. And I'm Jess. And this is... Moms and Marks- Moms and Marks- Uncensored Uncensored. We're reunited. Reunited and it feels so good. Feels so good. Hey, that was- We harmonize That wasn't bad. Look at us, guys. We're here. It is Jessica's birthday week. She's gonna be 42. I am. She's- Better than ever 42. And, um, it's all downhill from here. Yeah. How old are you gonna be, really? 33? 33. Okay, I was gonna say, 'cause I'm gonna be 33 this year. Thought we were around the same age. Courtney, we were in the same grade. That's true. Yeah. We're onto something. Yeah. Nothing gets past you. It's the dumbics. It's the dumbics. Oh, my God. If you saw the video, 'cause we will post it on Instagram, you will see what we truly think of one another. Yeah. We think very highly of each other. We do. We a- we truly do. We truly do. Guys, she showed up in this pretty dress, and so I was like, "Okay. I'm gonna go put on a-" We even have... Wait. a little dress too." Our slits, look it. Our slit's in the same place. I know. I'm like, I'm not tan, so- Me either I'm trying to cover that. Yeah. But we're, like, so cute. Okay. My toes are busted and crusted and bad, so- Oh, my God. Me too we're here. So we cut the video off down there. But we're here. For good reason. And plus, y'all gotta pay for that. So... You know, that's Foot Finders, baby. That is. I'm going to Vegas in May for my nephew's 21st, and I just made the joke. I was like, "I'm about to put these dogs on Foot Finders, get a little extra gambling money." Yeah. You know, I was gonna suggest today that me and you should do an early morning at the casino. Why didn't you say this sooner? No, I would've. We will do it at one point. Yeah. I got that, that Desert Diamond over here is actually nice. Oh, yeah? The newer one. I was gonna suggest that we go do slots for a couple hours. Well, we need to just do, like, a staycation at, like, Talking Stick, or I like Wild Horse Pass better. It has the lazy river. Oh, yeah. We'll start out the morning at the casino, then we make it to the lazy river, and we day drink, and we just document the whole thing. Down. It'll be crazy. I'm down. You should do it. Highs and lows. Well, wait. Well- We're, we're not, um, we're Mormons today. We are. We have dresses on and our long hair, and we're not drinking alcohol. We're drinking Swig. Mormons don't drink coffee. I know. I said, "Coffee?" She's like, "They don't drink coffee." I'm like, "Okay. Well, this is Swig in a coffee cup." I think, but I think the only thing about our outfit that's is our hair, because they don't show shoulder. Mine's, like, so flat and so long. I look like I'm about to go to freaking- It is very long Pilgrimage. But, nope, we're not drinking alcohol today because she got us a coffee, and I said, "You know what? We're good with that," 'cause next week- What's that game that people... Oregon Trail. Oh, I love Oregon Trail. I'd play that again. I would. But next week we're gonna... We were supposed to this week, but she works every night. I wanna take her on, like, a birthday happy hour, and that's where we're gonna do our live. So if we go to OSO or something or whatever, we're gonna do the whole podcast while we're having drinks and appetizers for her birthday. Yes. So we're gonna try again next week because- Yes she's working too much right now, and we didn't have- I know a day to do it. I know. I know. I've been working a ton. My daughter's very, very grumpy with me about it. Is that your low? That's my low. It is. I do enjoy being at work. Um, I'm having a lot of fun. I'm in the groove of things. I already have regulars, and they tip very, very well. Yeah, I bet. So and then also, I get to use that money. I mean, and, and I was telling Mila this, I'm like, it's not gonna feel as impactful when summer hits because we get all day together. Yeah. And then I work a couple nights a week, so, like, we're gonna... Our cup is gonna be full- Yeah of our quality time. You'll get your separate time. Yes. And then I still have not received the email about homeschool, but once I receive that, then, I mean, it's gonna be the same case for next year. We have all- Yeah day together, and then, and then I'll go to work a couple nights a week. So, uh, hopefully, I mean, summer's in two and a half week, two weeks, two and a half weeks. Something like that. Yeah, that's crazy. When does school get out in Arizona? May 22nd, where it's three weeks. My God. I know. Uh- Crazy, actually so yeah, it's a, it's a low and a high and all the things. Um, but no, my high, I do wanna t- we went to the Tyler Braden concert. Yeah. Talked a little bit about that before this, but we went and saw Tyler Braden. He's one of my favorite country artists. He is just absolutely incredible. His voice is, like, just raw and good and, ugh, so good. So if you guys have not listened to him, listen to him. My Americana just came out. It's a newer song. I'm gonna listen after this in the car. Yes. It's so good. He's just, like, a ultimate, like, windows down, good weather- Yeah country artist. That's my favorite. Yeah. Yeah. What about you? Highs and lows. Hmm. Highs, we went to, um... We were supposed to be in Cabo last weekend for sort of, like, a delayed honeymoon trip that we never... We got married during COVID, so we didn't get to take, like, an actual honeymoon. Mm-hmm. And my parents have a timeshare in Cabo, so we were all booked and ready to go, and unfortunately, Tyler had, like, a mandatory training that he had to attend, of course. Um- So instead, we went to Blyth. We went to the river house for my sister's birthday, and my best friend and her husband came up, and we didn't take River. And we were just gonna have, like, a little, you know, like, drink and have fun weekend. Mm-hmm. It was extremely windy. I was telling her. We couldn't even take the pontoon boat out. We would've been freaking... There were, like, white caps. But we improvised, and we, like, got all these different lawn games. There's, like, 25 of us, pulled random partners and made, like, a tournament out of, like, five different games and had a taco truck, and it was still super fun. So that was my high. It was nice to just get away, turn the brain off, and refresh. That's so fun. Yeah. It was nice. My low? Hmm. My low would probably be that we were supposed to be in Cabo, and we weren't. An all-inclusive resort- Yeah a full bar. Oh. But you know what? Did you reschedule it? We, we haven't yet, but we are probably, like, 'cause November is our anniversary. Mm-hmm. So we're just trying to see, like, the best weather time. And then we were talking about, like, with my, um, sisters and, like, with my siblings if, like, everyone wanted to go, 'cause it would be fun, like- Yeah for all of us and our spouses to go, too. Yeah. So we're figuring it out. But, um, that's not really- It'll be fun that low of a low, so that's- Yeah it's not a very- No, no big lows it's not a very serious low. And it's not a very serious episode. We're really just gonna be talking about, like, our go-to things, our favorite things, like our, you know, if you had, um, this much money in the world, what would you do? Like, it's just gonna be an easygoing, you know... There's so much heavy shit in the world right now, I feel like, that sometimes you just need to take it light. Oh, yeah. Like, let this be your little, like, light escape- Just like a- from reality girl talk. Yeah. Like we talked about, I think, our first couple episodes, you know? Sometimes those episodes where it's just you're hanging out, you're having some- Just yap with us girl talk with us, just yap with us. Yeah. We all need to yap, and I want you guys, if you're listening while you're doing dishes, in the car, wherever you are, answer these questions too. Yeah. Answer them with us. Yes. Yeah. And you know what? Maybe we'll ask them on our, uh, story too, 'cause I, I always like to see what everyone else thinks. Ooh, yeah, let's do that. Yeah. Let's do that too. Well, where are we going when we don't wanna cook and we just wanna feel human again? Let's, let's, actually, let's go through all of the favorite restaurants. Ooh, okay. So, all right. It's dinners, it, we need to make dinner. You really don't feel like cooking. Where are you ordering from? Mm, my gosh, this is hard. No, it's not. Um, I haven't been DoorDashing. I've been a good girl for, like, three or four months. Amazing. And I have not DoorDashed. My bank account loves it, and my husband loves it 'cause I'm cooking. But when I was, I would, my go-to was Pita Kitchen, chicken shawarma with salad, rice. Or, um- Chipotle. I'm a Chipotle girl. Oh my God. I know. Tyler isn't either, but I've always been a... If you went to high school with me, um, Haley, if you're listening, she knows we were Chipotle people. I loved it in high school- and then I just, like... And then I stopped. I know. Well, I go through phases. Yeah. I will say, I just tried, um, she told me to try- Café Rio? Um, oh, I do like Café Rio, the salads there. Uh, no. Hummus. Hummus Republic. Hummus Republic. Oh, that could be my new favorite. Isn't it so good? I love, like instantly we walked in, Tyler was like, "You're gonna love this," 'cause I love- Yes a, like, create your own. That's my- Yeah. I'm a bowl girl, and that was so good. And then River got... 'Cause I was like, "Oh shit, what's he gonna get?" Yeah. You know? Um, like chicken tenders and these, like, homemade sweet potato waffle fries- Yeah with the seasoning. Yes. Mm. So yeah, I would order from that now if I was ordering. So good. That would probably be- Yeah my, my go-to. Yeah. It's my go-to order. I partner with them. So I remember the first time I went in I was like, "You know, like, I'm here for that." And then I was like, "Oh, wait." Yeah. "This is, this is actually so good." They just don't get a ton of traffic in there. I wish more people knew about it- Yeah because it is, it's so fresh and delicious. And the different hummuses. Oh, I got, like, so many. Yes. And the, the guy working, who I believe, if he's not the manager, he should be, he came over and was like, "Have you guys been here before?" When we got in line, and was like, "Here, let me explain this." And then he was like- Just telling us all the options, recommending different things, and then came over and was like, "How do you guys like it? What do you think?" Yeah. Like, he was just super... I am, like, a, a vibe experience person too. Yeah. It's not just about the food. So that, for me, especially because we have a business of our own, that was, like, a, a bonus for me. When they care about their, like- He definitely cared. He wanted to know, and I wanted to make sure that I, like, let him know, like, "No, this is bomb. You're cool. Great experience." You know, quick little, quick little tangent on that. I think that that's, like, a lost art. I really do. Oh. Because I think so many... Now that I work in a environment where younger people work- Mm-hmm um, and just, like, the way that they treat others in the re- I'm like, "You have to treat it like it's yours." Yeah. So, like, when I... I don't care if I've been there for three weeks, like, I, I care about the guest experience. Yeah. And, like, I, I care about them walking out and wanting to come back. Yep. It's not just a job. Yeah. I'm not just trying to make money. Like, I, I want... I'm representing the establishment. Oh, yeah. I- How do you want it to be when you go in? Yeah. And that's how you should treat every... I just was saying I, I'm gonna do this whole refresh this summer at our shop, a, just a whole new customer service refresh, 'cause I feel like everyone gets complacent, and they get comfortable. Yeah. And they kind of don't even realize that they're not providing that, like, gold standard anymore. Mm-hmm. So yeah, there's a lot of places that I love, and I'll go, and I'll have, like, just a, someone that's just really blah customer service. Yeah. And then it makes me wanna be like, "You know, I'm gonna boycott you for a couple weeks." Yeah. Like, uh, you're not getting my service for a couple weeks 'cause I don't, I don't like the way you acted. Yeah, didn't like it. Dutch Bros, though, they are top-notch. Great for you. They- Yay. I don't want them to sit on my lap every time. Okay. I only go to the Dutch Bros by my old school, by Sandra Day. Um, I'm indifferent about other ones 'cause there is a difference, but they, like, know me, too. Okay. So it's just like a, like, "Oh, it's, where's River?" You know? Yeah. Like, they're just- And, like, when, when you feel like they know you, I, I wanna go back- Yeah like, when l- when I get that experience. Um, okay, where am I ordering from? Where are you ordering from? Depend... If I'm out and about, starving, hungry, can't... You know what, like, my fast food option would be Salad and Go. I get a steak Caesar salad wrap. Oh my God, I hate Salad and Go. Oh my God, I love it. I can't believe you like it, actually. Um, with a green Reviver juice. Mm. Yeah, I do. I haven't tried their juices. So but, like, that's... I'm not obsessed with it, but, like, if I, if I had to choose a fast food- Yeah that's where I'm going. Um, ordering, Oso always. That's my, their ac- or Baro's, I guess. Oso, yeah, or, oh, Baro's. Oso or Baro's. Yeah. Yeah. Those are my go-to orders. But what about, like, a treat yourself dinner? Where are you- Like, going out to dinner and treat yourself? Where are you going? Oh, that's hard. I don't do a lot of those. Um, but I like- I, I don't know if it's treat yourself, but, like, Picazzo's. Ooh. Yeah. The gluten-free Italian. Mm-hmm. Or Cooper's Hawk Winery. Okay. Which reminds me, I haven't gone to either of those in a long time. Anywhere that has, like, good gluten-free homemade options. Yes. Not, like, here's gluten-free I grabbed from the store. Yeah. So that's my struggle. I used to... My go-to used to be Osteria Mia. Um- Is that at Happy V- In North Tara? Yes. I took, we took Tara there. It's a little Italian, like s- they make their pasta and stuff from scratch. It used to be really good, and, like, the last two times that we went, the service was awful, and the food wasn't that great. Mm. And Tyler was just like, "We're not going there anymore." 'Cause it's a little more expensive. Yeah. And so he's like, yeah, we're not... Like, like, I ordered a gluten-free pizza, right? Yeah. And we're waiting, like, 45 minutes. Damn. And she's not even coming over and saying, like, "Hey, you know- Mm-hmm kitchen's behind," whatever. Nothing, right? Then after 45 minutes and our drinks are empty, everything, Tyler flags her down, was like, "Hey, I need another beer, and, like, what's the situation on the food? Like, is it coming?" You know. And she's like, "Oh yeah, let me check." She comes back, and she's like, "Okay, it'll be out in, like, five minutes." Then she comes over, she brings him his. Now it's been an hour. Yeah. And then she goes, "Oh, we're out of gluten-free pizza." Mm. And my husband, who's very sweet, is like, "You're telling her that now, an hour after she ordered?" Yeah. Like, "And my food came out?" Like, if you put that in, 'cause he used to work in the restaurant business- Right like, if you ring that in, they would, the cooks would've told you right then. They... Yeah. Like, and she just was not like, "I'm so sorry. Can I get you anything?" She's like, "Maybe just get a salad or something." Wow. And I'm, like, on my period. I'm like, "I don't want a salad. Like, I want a fucking pizza, bitch." Like, what? No. So after that, a new one opened over here by us. Yeah. And I was kind of excited, like, oh, maybe different. But I've been reading that people are kind of... Yeah, so. Yeah. So. And I think Squid Ink, I think it's, like, the same owners or something. Okay. I haven't been to Squid Ink in ages. Oh, I love Squid Ink. But- We have a, a sushi place that we're kind of, like, hooked on. It's o- over at 75th Avenue and Thunderbird. I think at, like- What's it called? pretty much by that Kabuki, I think. Oh. That's our go-to. That's so good. So good. We just discovered that, like, a couple months ago. The service in there is like- S- Like, it's like family. Like the guy with the baseball card Yes. Yes. And it's amazing every single time. My mom and dad, my mom's listening, they just took some of our friends there, too. They're, uh, like, they just love the service in there. Yeah. And just it's always regulars. They're always super nice. Mm-hmm. And then my mom found out that her nail lady from, of, like, 20 years, her husband is the, like, the sushi chef. Oh, really? Yeah. Dude, it's so good. Yeah. Yeah. I really like that place. Like, we- Ugh, it makes me want- Yeah, we, we drive there- sushi so bad saying, like, "All right, do we leave?" Is that your go-to... No, what's your treat yourself? I know that it's not a treat yourself. Um, that is tough. That's tough. Yeah. For you? We... You know, actually, one place I went last year, and I'm dying to go again, we have a gift card to go back. Uh, Filthy Animal in Tempe. I've never, I never go to Tempe, that's the problem. We like to find, like, just- Yeah nice, vibey, fun places. So our favorite, like, date night spot is definitely the revolving restaurant on top of the Hyatt downtown. Still haven't been. That's my go-to. Sh- it's just like chef crafted meals. Mm-hmm. And I, I think that a lot of these places, like, I don't know, a lot of them, like, miss that. Yeah. Same thing, like Maple Ash. Miss them all. Like, I am the biggest Maple Ash hater. I think it's- Maple Ash over- Where is that? It's in Scottsdale. Oh. I don't, I've heard of it, but I, I haven't been. Like, our dinner, I think we walked in, it was like $600. Hell no. And that was for just two dinners and, like, a side. Um- No, no, no but this place, like, every meal is, like, crafted. Mm-hmm. And, and then we each had like two drinks and we spent under $200. Yeah. And it, like, you get the views, like, of the city and all that. It's just, it's amazing. So that is our favorite date night spot. But no, Filthy Animal is like, you walk in, it's like a jungle. Ooh. Think of like a bougie Rainforest Cafe. Oh, I like that, 'cause I love Rainforest Cafe. I know. I wanna take Mila so bad. But Arizona Mills, I think I... Will you make it out alive? No, probably not. Probably not. Couple gunshots, a couple knives down later. And then you, you'll get shot while you're there, but then as you're walking out you'll get human trafficked. Yeah. So- So you're gone either way but you had a chance to eat at the Rainforest Cafe. But that was your last meal. That was your last meal was the Rainforest Cafe. Nope. I don't know about that. Oh. All right. So if someone said, "Pack your bags right now," where are you going? I'm not fun with this. I'm not. Oh. It's always San Diego. She's going to some... No. You're, she's going to some hostel in the middle of- Oh my God freaking nowhere. Okay. I do wanna stay at a hostel and backpack overseas, like, in- Mm in, like, Greece. And- This is, it's getting better Yeah. Where did you think- I don't know. Some, like, a hostel in, like, fricking Iraq or something. No. That has never been on my bucket list. It's like you don't even know me. No, like, a, a quick little trip is always San Diego. Yeah. Always. It- But actually, you know what, you know what it would be, because this is my dream trip. I wanna do it by the end of the year, which is saying a lot, because we only have a couple, you know, six months left. Crazy. Six, seven months left. Six, seven. Six, six, seven. Oh, no. Um, New York. I've never been- Oh, yeah and I want to go so bad. Obviously, I wanna go during Christmas. We will see. But me and my m- uh, Gma, we always said that we were gonna do that together, and then she passed, and I just never booked it. So I think- So you need to now I have to book it. So yeah, if someone said right now, it would be New York. What about you? Um, mine would be Ireland. Ooh. I've always wanted to go to Ireland. I love PS I Love You, the movie. Yeah. That, like, first, a long time ago- And drinkers. Yeah, made me wanna go, and now it's just like every time I see anywhere, but, like, also Montana. Something about just, like, the whole, like, Yellowstone TV show vibes, like, that calls me. I think after my sister living there- It's not cool? Uh, I actually, we did see some beautiful spots, but, like, she was very, like, central Montana. Oh, okay. And so it is gorgeous, but, like, I didn't get to see, like, that side of it. Yeah, that part, the buffaloes and the- No, I think that... Yeah like, porches and... Yeah. Yeah. Sometimes you have a different vision, like, it, like, everything on the movies and stuff- Mm-hmm and then you go somewhere and you're like, "Wait a second." But it could be opposite. Like, one of- Yeah the most beautiful places that, like, we went to, and, and not directly in there, but Reno. When we- Oh when we went into Reno, Nevada- Yeah dude, like, the whole surrounding area out of that is stunning. Ooh. We, like, walked to coffee shops, hung out in parks. What? Like, it's gorgeous. What is that, Reno? No, it's not good. And then, well, you drive only 40 minutes, you're in Lake Tahoe. Yeah, true. And then you drive another 40, we found, like, this cute, old Western town. Like- Ooh I was like, "This is actually, I love it here." It's gorgeous. I dig that. Yeah. All right, what about a realistic mom getaway? We need to talk about this, because we need to fricking do it. We do. San Diego, we talked about that. San Diego. San Diego. I think the other one would be Sedona. Yes. I think that's another realistic- I feel like very zen happy since I'm kinda chill. Yeah. You know? Like, stay at a cute little place, like- Mm-hmm overlooking the creek and- Yeah do some hikes and- Mm drink some... I wish I liked wine. I wanna be, like, aesthetically cute and like wine so bad. You don't like any of it? I like, like, a, um, what's, like, the pink one? Rose? Yeah, but then, uh, the sugar fucks me. So- Oh. Like, you have to do, like, a really dry, like, a pinot grigio. I guess I need to, like- Try it out again. Yeah I, I also had, like, the one time that I did drink wine heavily, um, I, well, I drank too much of it, and it was cheap, sugary wine. Was it red? Had the worst headache. Oh, yeah. I thought I was dying the next day. I feel like as I get older- I couldn't so I can, I'll sip a red wine. I'm okay with that. Um, but, like, you wake up feeling so dehydrated. I literally- And it's like, ugh like, my roommate opened the shutters in our house, in our, in our apartment, and I was like, "Where am I?" Everything. Ugh, it was bad. Yeah. All right, what about a kid-friendly spot? Hmm, kid-friendly sp- I think where, where we're going this weekend for my birthday, Hilton at The Peak. Oh, yeah. It's, like, her favorite, her favorite spot. It's also outdoors, so it breeds unlike a Great Wolf Lodge. Bleh. Which- Which is a Petri dish I know so many people love that place. Mm-hmm. But I, I don't think I could ever go. I was like- I'll watch you eat my words. We're gonna go back to this and she convinced me to go. Tyler was like, "You will never catch me inside that disgusting human smell." I can't imagine the clothes, the- He's like, "That piss water." Yeah. And I'm like, "Yeah, you're not making it." Oh, it grosses me out. So yeah, the Hilton at The Peak I think definitely is. There's, like, a lazy river and so many pools, and, like, they're, like, beach entry pools and- Yeah a water slide and- That sounds fun, actually all the things. So that's- Yeah that's what I'm saying. What about you? I think San Diego, too. Oh, yeah. Just 'cause River loves the beach, and I think it's just easy, like. Mm-hmm. But yeah, if you're talking... Sedona is, too, because the creeks and stuff. Yeah. You can go and just kinda hang out. But yeah, for here, I would say The Point. Yeah. Like, that's, like, a, a really good place to go where you can all have fun, 'cause then there's, like, a swim-up bar for us adults, too. Yeah. If we're not Mormon that day and we drink. If we're not Mormon. I am, but I am now Mormon. Yes. Dream trip, we did talk about that. Ireland, definitely. I, I agree with you there. Yeah. And it's, like, always cloudy, and there's castles. I just am a sucker for any place that preserves- Oh, yeah their architecture. Yeah. Well, and they have, like, the cobblestone streets still and stuff. Mm. And my cousin went. That sounds nice. And she said, yeah, it's, like, the pubs on the cobblestone streets, and then it's just, like, these just hills and hike and, like- horses every, like... So she confirmed, yes, it is beautiful like that. So- Oh I don't know. Where was The Holiday filmed? Oh my God, I don't know, but that's one of my favorites. And every time I watch that movie, I literally am like, "I want, I need to go there." It's like one of those, like, that you catch yourself dreaming about. I feel like it's in, like, Canada or something. I don't know why. Oh. No? I feel like it's, like, it's not Ireland, but it's, like, a place like the- Yeah, maybe maybe the UK. Switzerland? We, we go to this place called Silverton, Colorado. Oh, yeah. And I swear the pictures are identical to Switzerland. Ooh. It's, like, a little hidden gem in- Mm. Yeah, it's so pretty. I'm into that. All right. Well, what is next? Oh. Is that your Irish? What? What is next? What? I got a text. I got a text. Which I think there's a new season of Love Island coming, okay? I don't have the time to even... No, I know, but- Can we just talk about how Love Island is a commitment? It's a life commitment. Can we also talk about the fact that why did you take a second job when it restricted your time to watch shows and hang out with me? I'm sorry. Ridiculous. So I- Next time you need to run that past me before you take that on. I know. I really just sprung that on you. I was like, "Hey, by the way- we've been, we've been apart for a week, and I have a whole- Yeah side job." I didn't approve that. I know, but- Damn it. Sorry. Don't do that. I won't ever make a life decision without, without Courtney again. You better not. You better not. So what, what do you think about family vacations? Are they relaxing? Do you need a vacation from the vacation? Mm-hmm. Family vacation- Do you consider that, like, your relax trip? Or, like, a, like, a, like, basically, like, picking up your life- Yeah and going somewhere else. What stage of parenthood are we in right now? Well, so yeah, I was gonna say it's different, right? It's probably different for you than me. I'm, my, my kid's, like, gonna be four. So right now, like, we went on a week vacation in San Diego. The first two days I feel like are always rough 'cause you're in a new spot. Yeah. And, like, the last place that we stayed, like, it was a beach house, like, across from the beach. Mm-hmm. And so it was in an alleyway where these cars kept, and that's where our patio was. Oh. So it was navigating, like, where the frick are the kids? There's a street. Like- Yeah and then it's also, you know, well, how, we gotta take them to the be- Yeah the first two days are always, like, an adjustment with that many people and that many little kids. And then I felt like after that, it was relaxing. Yeah. So it's- It was fine. Yeah. At first you're like, "Why the hell did I do this?" Yeah. I pretty much just picked up my chaos and took it somewhere else and paid for it. Like- Yeah but if you're in the right, like, I don't know, after a while- Mm-hmm yeah. It's fine. Yeah. I think we're, yeah, we're about... I, I remember those days. Yeah. Like, I remember, like, you know, uh, you, you have to, like, carve your timelines, your bedtimes, and- Mm-hmm and all of that. We, we went on a vacation with Mila to San Diego two years ago. Yeah. And I think we are just coming out of that because everything was fine. It definitely was, like, a still relaxing trip. Yeah. We had the best time, but, like, there was no going out to dinner late, you know? No, yeah. Like, or, or any... Like, we're not, we're not doing a lot, you know, so- You're not doing things on a whim. Yes, yes. Like- Like, still everything needs to be planned, but I think now, like, it's, I mean- Yeah Disneyland was a great example of that. Like- I wanna take River. It's business as usual he's never been. But I don't know if he's, like- I don't know. I think more like six years old is like a better age to like experience Disney. Yeah, we took her for her seventh birthday, and honestly, I, I thought that was perfect. We still brought a stroller for her, and that's the smartest thing. I w- honestly, if I took her today at eight years old, I would still have a stroller- Yeah because there's no complaining of, "I, my feet hurt, I'm done walking." Yeah. It, and also the stroller held all of our souvenirs. Yeah. So we're literally like booking it, and then there's stroller parking. Yeah, it's always nice. So all of our water, everything, and we're like parked, ready to go, parked, ready to go. Yeah. And from sun up to sun down, she was game, and tall enough to go on every single ride. Yeah. Uh- I feel like that's a good age so it was top-notch. I'll probably do it around then. She's already begging to go back, but. Oh, I bet. Your bank account isn't. No. Oh, you gotta pull out a small loan to go to Disneyland these days. That was, yeah, it definitely, definitely was a pricey one. Yeah. Definitely was a pricey one. Well, speaking of money, where is a place that you're spending money that you probably shouldn't? I bet a lot of people would say my coffee addiction, 'cause I always buy coffee every day, but this one might not come as a shock. My grocery bill. Oh, me too. I, I don't wanna say the number out loud, but it is definitely multiple four digits a, a month. Yeah, I was gonna say it's probably higher than mine. But I ordered groceries to my mom's yesterday just 'cause I was like, "I don't feel like going to the store." And the guy kept, she was working in the garage- Mm-hmm and so he kept... She's like, "Oh my gosh, like how many groceries did you get? How much did you spend?" I'm like, "This is like not even a..." Yeah. "This is just a regular- Yeah like the needs for dinners, Tyler's lunches, River's lunches." Yeah. Like, this is normal. But for- Normal stuff yeah. I, I mean, it's mainly just like recipes for me. Like for instance, I'm like- Yeah "Okay, I'm not buying pre-shredded parma- like Parmesan." Yeah. I'm like, and I have like this specific recipe, so I need this. Oh, it's fresh. And I'm like, "Oh, you know what would be good on that? Pesto." So I'm like, "All right, now I need pine nuts." Pine nuts are, you know, $8 a bag, so I'm like- Or if you wanna fricking buy Mike's Hot Honey, it's like $14 for the bottle. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah, so it- Things are just expensive though it just adds up. It just adds up. Like- And I'm not, and I'm usually not a quick, easy dinner. I'm like, "Oh, let's do that." Yeah. "But like take it to this level." Complex, yeah. So that's a, it's a me problem. So yeah, that's probably where I spend a lot of money that I could realistically pull back on if I wanted to. Yeah. What about you? Mine's probably Target or Amazon. I'm a very, like Amazon's just so convenient. I'll be laying in bed, I'm like, "Oh, you know, this would be cool tomorrow," or this or that. Yeah. And I just fricking... And then- But the returns system is great it's easy, and I've gotten so good at the returns. It's right next to my favorite place, AJ's. Oh. So I'm always just like, "All right, here, scan the things." But Target is just my like- I just love going in there when I have some time and just, I don't need anything, but I always just go through the dollar section- Yeah and the clothes. But the clothes are getting terrible. What is the deal? I feel like they sw- Tara was just telling me, she was like, "I just went in and did a full Target haul on the clothes." And they were good? And she got some really cute stuff. Okay. 'Cause usually I can, but, like, the last few months I'm like, "Who is in charge of your guys's, like, marketing here? And, like, who's picking out this stuff? Like, what is-" That's why you have to go to Walmart Yeah, Walmart's actually, like... Even the boy clothes at Walmart, 'cause- Yeah boy clothes, if you have a boy, it's terrible. And here's the prime representation. It was Superhero Day at River's school yesterday. Yeah And I dug everywhere. Do we have pajamas? Something. I don't buy him anything character. Yeah I just won't do it. And I couldn't find him anything, so he literally had to wear his, like, NYPD police officer- Yeah like, a souvenir shirt my mom got him for, like, a pajama shirt from New York City. Yeah And when he wears it, he thinks he's a cop. Aw. And he's like, "I'll wear that, Mom. Um, that's my hero." And I'm like, "Okay, well, I hope this, like, hits there." Yeah "I hope people understand." 'Cause then all these kids are showing up in all their character light up shoes and this and that, and I'm just like- Absolutely absolutely not, no. I- Not that mom you know, I wasn't for a bit, and then I turned into it when she started wanting more regular clothes. Yeah And then it, like, broke my heart that I was like, "I..." Yeah. It's- it flies by. It's gonna be hard for me, um, when he's like, you know- Out of, out of the house "No, I wanna wear that, I wanna wear this," and it's just like, "Oh, no, no, no." So what are the little things you do that make you feel like yourself again? Ooh, I get ready every day, to an extent. I, if, I, at least hair and makeup every single day. Yeah Um, even if I'm just wearing active wear. So that makes me feel better. I feel like when I l- when I feel like I look good, then I present to the wor- like, the energy, you know- Yeah kind of like projects. And then I get a coffee, 'cause it brings me joy and happiness. And I also hike and work out, um, because I get- I went for a hike yesterday I get bad anxiety when I don't work out, um, or move my body. Yeah. So I like to do that. What about you? Mm-hmm. I would say, yeah, having coffee. Um, this podcast, I always feel better after we sit and talk in here. And I think, like, long conversations, like when I call my sisters randomly- Mm-hmm I'm always, like, when I'm driving, I'm, like, calling one of them and, like, just, you know, you're just yakking- Yeah about different dumb stuff. Um, yeah, we went for a hike, like, just steam hills behind my parents' house yesterday, but that felt good. Like, I don't know, it's just little stuff like that. Yeah. Even the end of the night, I know it sounds dumb, but, like, when River goes to sleep and I'm just- Like, I plug my phone in, I don't get on it. Mm-hmm. And I just, like, watch something funny. What are the comfort shows? What shows will you always go back to? Friends, The Office, Parks and Rec. Um, what else? I l- I love shows like that. You- Workaholics. Oh, yeah. What about New Girl or Schitt's Creek? Oh, New Girl. Okay, Schitt's Creek I watched and I loved. I didn't watch it all the way through, though, but I always thought it was so funny. It was something that I watched at the river house for some reason. I need to watch it all the way through, though, 'cause I loved it. But New Girl, dude. It's just always so good. Those are ones that you can turn on- Yeah and, like, I can close my eyes and I'm still, like, laughing. Yeah. It's so good. Um, same with, like, The Office and Parks and Recs. And Friends, obviously, is a, just a freaking classic. Oh, yeah. But a new one that I've been watching is called Mom, and it's- What's that on? It's a mom and a daughter... It's on Netflix. And they're known actresses- Yeah and actors. And they, um, they kinda were a mess. One was a stripper, one was a- Yeah you know, and they're both ex-alcoholics. Yeah. And so they go to meetings every day. It's just a, it's just a 30-minute- Oh, I need to watch this like, really freaking funny. Okay. And I've been on that. Like, I watch that every night before I go to bed, and it's hilarious. I need to watch that. And kinda that old school humor where they say things where you're like, "Oh, can you still say that?" Yeah. You know? Like, and I'm like, "I like that." I love that. I love that. So that is. What about you? What's your go-to? We have a lot of the same ones. Yeah. So yeah, Friends, Office, um, definitely The Office, New Girl, and then obviously for everyone know, I love Vanderpump Rules. Never watched it. Summer House. Oh my God. I need to catch up on Summer House with all the drama. Oh, it's so good. I bought a bunch of Lover Boy merch- Yeah um, after everything went down. Um, so yeah, Vanderpump, Summer House, Southern Hospitality. Never watched that one either. That one is a new... Like, so if anyone is, like, new to Bravo and is like, "I don't know, like, where to jump in," 'cause I feel like a lot of people are like, if they've never watched it and l- they see, like, oh, 12 seasons, 10 seasons, it's really intimidating. Yeah, like how, like how? So Summer House, when I... I mean, eventually, like, on my third rewatch, I jumped to the beginning. Yeah. So like, I started, like, season three, and then I watched it through. Southern, Southern Charm, um, I love that one, but I, I didn't like the first four. Like, I tried watching the first season, and it was like- Yeah so I jumped to season four. But the only one that you literally have to start episode one and watch all the way through, and you will never regret it, your life will be better for it, is Vanderpump Rules. I hear that, so maybe I need to try- Oh, my did you ever watch Flora-Bama Shore? I wasn't a fan. Oh my God, I like that kinda just fucking drunk messed up. Yeah. But Summer House has been my favorite. I'm just, uh- So good I'm not, I didn't, I haven't watched this season yet, but maybe I'll start that tonight. You should. But I- It's good I'm already like, "Man." 'Cause I have always loved Kyle. Yeah. I know that he... But it's like you guys, you, but you guys are drinking- Okay and partying all the time, shit's gonna pop off. But I think if your relationship was like theirs- Yeah you would, you would lash out like Kyle did. All right, so definitely Kyle screaming outside, slamming doors, I don't love the behavior. No, but I think he's funny. I don't, but, like, but when she's, like, avoiding him, ignoring him- Yeah and, like, just being, like- And alcohol's involved and just being a stick in the mud. Mm-hmm. And, like, she w- I trust Lindsay Hubbard. Lindsay Hubbard never liked her from the beginning. Oh, I love Lindsay. And I love Lindsay. I love Lindsay and Carl together. They're friends again. I know, that's good. They've been hanging out. But what was, uh, Paige? I liked when Paige- Oh was on there. Big, big Paige fan. I listen to... That's the podcast that- I know I've been listening to that, yeah, yeah. I wanted to like it 'cause I like her. Yeah. Um, but I liked when she was on it too. She's just a, she's so great. Side note, okay, who was the one that Paige went on the dates with and now it's rumored that he is dating- It's not ru- Kelsey Ballerini? Oh, she didn't go on da- they dated for, like, three years. Paige, uh, Craig Conover. There's a rumor that her, him and Kelsey Ballerini- Kelsey, yeah are together. I know, which she needs to run. He's a liar. He's a psycho. I'm like, you don't go from Chase Stokes to- No. Like, he's attr- I get it, he's very attractive. Yeah, but no. But he, like, he embellishes and lies- And that's just a rumor all the time. I don't really know- Yeah, I've seen that if that's true, but yeah, I'm definitely- Yeah, but she's- She's starting summer house season, because- She has a new boyfriend and, um, they are happy. They've been together for a hot minute. I mean, they lo- like the way that she talks- Yeah about him on her podcast. 'Cause she's had him for a while now, right? Like, six months. Okay. Something like that. But she's, like, talked about, like, mentioned him on, like, the podcast. Mm-hmm. And, like, different, like, blogs. Okay. Make it seem like they're happy, but she, like, definitely is keeping that one under wraps. That's smart. She does not talk about it. Yeah. Well, at that point you're like, "Okay." But, like, she'll, like, make a comment and she's like, "Oh, and Joe," but, like, that's all- Yeah that you'll hear. Yeah. Yeah. I just love reality TV. I love drama, that's not lying. Same. Um, favorite drink right now? These are just some quick rapid fires. Favorite drink right now, alcoholic or non? Let's do both. Okay. Uh, non is going to be coffee all day. Mm-hmm. All day, all day. I like to make my own coffee at home that has, um, it's cold brew, maple, cinnamon, splash of whole milk. And then alcoholic will always be forever a margarita. My margarita. Mm. Jalapeno cucumber margarita, if we wanna be specific. Whoa. Ooh. How about you? I love coffee too. I have my Nespresso machine. I like just a black- Hot coffee in the morning from that Oh, in the morning always black coffee. Yeah, why does it always have to be- Like, you will not get it yeah, it always has to be hot in the morning, and then throughout the day, and it has to be black. Yes. And then throughout the day, you get, I'll get like a... My go-to right now is, well, the sugar-free blondie extra shot from Black Rock. And Dutch Bros would be the sugar-free hopscotch protein iced coffee, which has, like, 29 grams of protein. Really good. But also my, my every, like, AJ's iced tea. Ooh. Non-sweetened. With an orange- Tons of different flavors. Yeah, you can get an orange- Ugh slice or a lemon slice. So good. Blackberry jasmine green and half passion, half mango, all unsweetened. Those are, like, my go-to. Blackberry jasmine green is my fave. Oh, my God. So- So good um, alcohol, if I'm with her, the espresso martini, 'cause I don't really like them when I order them out. Um, and if I'm just, like, at the river or something, either a black can Truly or my Mio with Coconut Captain. Mm. I'm just a basic little girl. I love that. But- I love that. What about favorite snack? Oh, favorite snack. Um, these are two random snacks, okay? I love... I've been on a, um, hard-boiled egg, and I drizzle a little bit of hot honey on it. Ooh. I don't know why. That's so good to me. And my other snack right now is watermelon with Tajín. Ooh. Or mango and Tajín. I haven't had that in a while. Or, um, oranges with Tajín. Okay. Anything, any fruit with Tajín has been kind of my, like- Yeah get home, while I'm cooking dinner, I, like... I don't know why, that's so just me. Love that. That's always kind of, like, a summer thing that I like a lot. We're a big mango- I love mango we're a big mango fan. Mango and pineapple, man. Pineapple, yes. I'm allergic to it, so- Oh, no I, like, at a point, I just get itchy. Mm. Yikes. Um, but I do love it. What's your favorite snack? Probably, definitely with you on the mangoes. We eat a lot of mangoes. Yeah. For sure. And then guac. Mm. I always keep guac around. Uh, oh, and Epic beef jerky. Um, it's bison beef jerky. Like- Oh not a stick. It's like a, it's like a rectangle. Like a round? Yeah. Um, but it's bison beef jerky, and it has cranberries in it. That actually sounds bomb. Oh, they're at Sprouts. Oh. They are so good. So good. Or Chomps. I always have a Chomps around. Yeah. Trying to think of what else. I like cheese. Um, have you seen that Parmesan cheese has much, like, more protein in it than, like, a protein bar? Really? So, like, I do straight up have a block of Parmesan that every now and then, just- Take a chunk of it. Why not? take a little bite. Yeah. Um, favorite thing your kid is doing lately. My... You know I'm her biggest hype girl. Um, no, she's just very, she's- It's just like m- having a little me. Yeah. Um, she's getting older, so just our, our conversations about any and all things, and when we have to have, like, tough conversations, like I had to discipline her the other day about her, just her attitude and, like, how she was responding to things. Yeah. And, um, I'm pretty understanding because I, like, her, obviously, like, we all mess around, but I think- Yeah at a point sometimes we have to realize, like, she's a kid, and under- she doesn't really understand, like, the boundaries and blurring the lines of, like, who you're being sassy to- Yeah and when it, when it's actually, like, kidding and when it's not, and when it's appropriate and when it's not. And, um, I was telling, I was like, "You're a kid and I don't expect you to know that, but, like, we gotta shut this shit down- Yeah immediately." And she'll, like, come to me and she's like, "Hey, thanks for having that talk. I don't, um, like, you know- Aw these are things, like, I, I don't know I'm doing in the moment," and all of this. So I'm like, it's just, like, like, that reasoning and, like, our- Yeah open communication that we have that is probably my favorite stage right now. That's cute. Yeah. What about you? Your little bestie. My little bestie. Girl. Um, with River, he's just, every day I feel like I'm like, oh my God, you're getting older, you know? Like, the maturity. Yeah. I know he's only gonna be four, but just, like, I I don't know. And he's always been good with manners, but lately he's just really, like- Oh and I've been telling him to say, like, you say, "Yes, sir," or- Mm-hmm like, "Yes, ma'am." Um, and so, like, even to my mom and I, he's not, he forgets the ma'am part. Yeah. And like, I'll be like, "Hey, go pick that up," and he's like, "Yes, sir." And it's just funny, though. Aw. Like, like, and he's like, "Yes, please. Thank you so much." Like, everything's just... And he's very, like- So cute pretend play right now. Like, he loves it. Like, he'll come in the room and he'll be like, "Hey, ma'am, you did a bad thing. You're under arrest." And he uses these certain voice, and I'm just like, I don't know. That's so sweet. He's just so sweet, too. He's so sweet. Like, he's wild, but, like, if I'm like, "Oh," like my stomach hurts or something, he's like, "Are you okay, Mommy? Do you need a massage? Do you need medicine?" Like, you know, just those sweet sides- He's just- that's just, like, man a little lover. But sad. I'm like, man. It is. You know? You're just getting older and older and older, and that's depressing at the same time, you know? Let's bring up the mood. What, what- Now let's all cry together let's, now that we're all crying, um, and I guess we did kind of cover this, but do you have any just small wins this week? Small wins. River hasn't been crying at school, knock on wood, for the last two weeks. That's a big win. And it just has changed our whole entire days, 'cause it was bad. To start your day off with your kid just bawling, begging you not to take them somewhere, and then you drop 'em off and they're bawling looking at you, and then you pick 'em up and they're like, "Please don't make me go again tomorrow," it was like a drag. Mm. I'm like, I can't. Like, mentally, you're just thrown off all day. It's been great. It's just been so smooth. My days go better. I feel better about leaving him there. Um, so those are, those would be like small wins. I get- Grocery shopping, meal prepping, that's a small win for me. Yeah. Especially coming off of, like, vacation, it's always, like, hard- Crops to get back in the- Yeah. I have a recipe, it's a family recipe that you, so you don't have it. I'm gonna share it with you. It's called- I won't share it online, but I will try it messy cabbage rolls. Ooh. And I- I love a cabbage roll I do like a variation. Like, our Lebanese version calls for ground lamb. Yeah. But if you're not a ground lamb person, I use ground turkey. Yeah. And then I make my homemade tzatziki with cucumber, and it's just like, it sounds simple, but it's- Mm-hmm rice, the ground lamb or ground turkey, with a bunch of lemon, fresh garlic- Mm and cinnamon. Ooh. And then you put your tzatziki on top- Mm-hmm of this rice mixture. It sounds like, ugh, but- That sounds so good but that's like a- Yeah um, in the Lebanese world growing up, we wrap that mixture- Mm inside cabbage- Ooh and then we soak it in, like, this tomato type of sauce. Yeah. But we've created, like, the lazy way- Yum where it's like unrolled. Yeah. So I made that last night. That was so bomb. That sounds so good. Look at you. I'm growing up. I'm just growing up. Just a little chefy in the kitchen. I'm just like a little, you know. What are your wins for the week? My wins, my wins, my wins. I think honestly just staying up past 8:00 PM. That's a, that's a win, yeah. I think that's a win. I think I'm doing better at that. I'm also doing a better job of delegating things in my household- That's good and asking for help when I need it, because- That is a big win for you I don't do that, so. But you got it. I know, and it's been very, very helpful. Yeah. Well, I feel like that is a good note to end on, because- Mm-hmm sometimes you just have to check in with yourself or your people and just be like, "Hey, what's a small win that I'm having lately?" 'Cause some weeks feel like you're just digging deeper and deeper- Yeah and deeper into a hole where you're just like, "Well, nothing's clicking. Maybe I'm not clicking with my husband. My kid and I are butting heads. It's been a rough week with this. I'm not on my chores. My house is a mess. This is a mess." And you just have to check in and be like, "Okay, but what's, like, a win?" And you have to kind of snap yourself back- Acknowledge and be like, "Whoa." Yeah. I still need to be thankful and appreciative for the things that are going right, and 'cause it's easy. When you get- Yeah stuck on one negative thing, it's easy to go down a spiral. Oh, yeah. And you gotta check yourself before you wreck yourself. Chickity check yourself before you wreck yourself. But next week, okay, we're making it happen. I'm taking her on a fricking happy hour birthday date- Yay where we record the whole episode. Tell your work don't overbook you next week. I already have my schedule. Oh, God. So I'll share it with you. Okay, I was gonna say, okay. I will share it with you. We're gonna figure it out, though, and I'm thinking Oso just because I love their happy hour. I'm so down. And we can sit outside. They have misters and stuff, and we can record the whole thing. Okay. And it could be fun. We can even, like, just show everyone what we're eating, what we're drinking, and can be like a- All of it review-type thing. Yes. Plus, so... Because Oso I feel like is slept on a little bit. It is. It's my favorite. It is. It's... Like, the food. Yeah. The food is genuinely so good. I know. So, yeah. But I, we also have fun guests coming up, too. Yes, we do. Different, different guests that you wouldn't expect, so fun things coming, and- We love you guys we love you. We'll see you next week. Bye. Toodles.
