I'm Jess, and this is Moms and Margs Uncensored. I have missed you guys so much. I am so happy to be back. It doesn't even feel real. I was just setting up my podcast app and I was like, what do we use again to record? I it's been, I know it hasn't been that long, but it has felt like forever. And I am just so ready to be back. I do appreciate you guys letting me take a little Menti B, a little mental. Well, I didn't have a Menti B, but I was very close to having a Menti B, if we're being honest. And I just needed a little, a little reset, you know. Um, and life has just been full. Um, I have been creating and working, and I have really learned that I need to slow down. So this episode's gonna be quick. It's definitely just a uh hello, hi. I'm back. I'm so ready to be back. Court and I have some amazing plans for this podcast, and I just needed to be refreshed and recharged in order to do that. So again, thank you guys. Um, I am just learning to slow down and figure out what that means. Uh little life behind the scenes, a lot has been happening. I've had some some personal things that I'm just working through that have been heavy on my heart. I might be ready to talk about those in the future. Um, but I just wasn't in the best mental health space. And obviously I'm a full-time content creator now. That's all brand new to me. As of this past year, I actually went full-time being a content creator and we started this podcast a couple months later. So um it was really, of course, exciting at first. And I'm definitely wanting to say yes to everything and take on all of the responsibilities. But after a little bit, things can definitely weigh on you, and you have to figure out um, what can I carry and what do I need to set down uh for the sake of my mental health. So that's something that I had to do as well. Um, but I'm absolutely loving being a full-time content creator. I am learning so much in this space, and I'm just honestly having the greatest time. It's such a blessing. It has been such a blessing to my life. And um obviously I did take up bartending a couple nights a week too, because let's be real. I I just want I want play money. I want play money. I like to spend money. I like my coffee, I like my Botox, I like my gym memberships, I like all that good stuff. And while content creation does bring in some great money, some months are a little, a little slow. So um, and also on the personal side, bartending has been so good for my mental health because it gets me out of the house and talking with people. And my in my past life, I was a recruiter and I got to talk with people all day and hear their life, hear their stories and get to know them. And I didn't realize that I would actually miss so much of that part of the job until I left and I was just doing content creation full time. So getting to talk with people all day, you know, when I'm behind the bar is so much fun and it just feeds my soul and I love it. So the money, the personal, it has been nothing but a blessing. Plus, I work for such an amazing bar as well. And I'm having a grand old time. And and then obviously we have this podcast on top of it. Court is just the most incredible person. And starting the podcast with her, I I can't think of anyone else I would rather work alongside. Um you guys have probably gathered this, but if you know Courtney, you know she is the most selfless, loving, incredible human. And I just am thankful to know her, thankful to do this with her. And she has been absolutely amazing through my my break. So thank you, thank you. I love you so much. And being a mom, being a mom, that has been, of course, the biggest thing too. I, this is my first summer home with my daughter, and we are obviously about ready to go into homeschooling as I talk about slowing down and adding, you know, things to my plate. But we are gonna start homeschooling, and this summer was my first summer home with her, and you know, trying to juggle all the things. I'm so used to her being in camp. And I just had mom gill, and I was worried that I was doing too many things for me and not enough for her, and um we've had such a great summer. So taking the last, you know, couple weeks or longer than that away from the podcast, and um just you know, putting putting some stuff down so I can focus on being a mom is nothing that I regret. I'm very, very thankful that I was able to do that. And we have had such a fun summer. I want to catch you guys up on everything, and we will, but uh, we went to SeaWorld and that was a blast. I know SeaWorld gets a bad rap. I know it gets such a bad rap, and it's not great, but um, we were able to do some some things there. Like we got to hand feed the otters, and my daughter's obsessed with otters, and she had this really, really incredible moment with an orca, which I will say the orca enclosure did make me cry. It made me really sad to see an orca um enclosed like that. And it I just had a rough time with it. But the orca came up to the glass specifically twice, right in front of Mila, and put its head down, like against the glass, um, right where she was standing a couple times, and that also made me cry. Um, so we did we we went to SeaWorld and had some you know beach vacation and we went camping and spent a lot of time at play places and um have just had some unbelievable quality time, and I'm really looking forward to homeschooling her this next year. And obviously, I I did talk about this too, but I would love to do a homeschooling episode if you guys are interested. I can do it as like a bonus episode because we really want to get into bringing on guests and talking with people uh mainly. But I've had a couple messages come through about homeschooling, and I um if you're interested, I can definitely do a bonus episode on that. But you know, all in all, I just don't think I was burnt out as much as I was just disconnected. I was going through the motions. Um, that's one thing I've realized is I go on autopilot when I have a lot on my plate. But I'm and I'm getting everything done, I'm just very disconnected from it. And um, I've had some things happen over the last couple months that have really humbled me and um really just shown me that I need to be present and I need to take care of myself. And yeah, so life life was just life. Life was just life. Um, so that's that's a little bit of the backstory there, but you know, I I'm sure we've all been there. I'm sure we've we've all been there. So going into what's next, um, more we have in the last couple episodes have been so good just talking with real life people, and I'm just so excited about the direction of the podcast. I'm so excited to talk with people too. I have I've been listening to the podcast as a listener, and I texted Court this. I was like, you know what? Our podcast is so good. That's let's go back to what I just said about being disconnected. I was going through the motions and listening to the podcast, but I again I was in autopilot mode. So I've been listening as a listener, and I'm like, dude, this is so good. This is so good. This is what I want to put on. And you know, Court has always been the heart and the drive, and she envisioned this podcast. I love the way her brain works, I swear. Um, but she has envisioned this podcast and just watching it come to fruition, hats off, because the way that this podcast is forming and blossoming, it's just beautiful. It's so beautiful. And if you guys haven't listened to the guests the last couple episodes, I highly recommend that you do. But that is what we want to do. We want to talk with just real people, real people that we can resonate with. And we have heard some incredible stories, and there's so many more to come. I have some amazing guests lined up. Court has some amazing guests lined up, and it's just so fun. It's so fun. I love it. Um, but we want to have more conversations about life and entrepreneurship and motherhood and growth because, you know, when we're younger, we're all going on the same path, right? We are we kind of have the same friendship dramas. We are going to school at the same time. We are all kind of enduring a little bit of the same thing. And then once we branch out and we get older, we all take completely different paths. We endure different roadblocks, we overcome, overcome different struggles, we um are faced with new challenges, we have, you know, new loves and losses and all of this. And it's just really, really cool to have a chance to sit down and talk with so many different talks of walks of life, and that's what this podcast is becoming, and I'm so excited for it. So we I I've come up, you know, I have balance now. I have really taken a lot of time to hone in on my life and what it's gonna look like and where it's going. So I am going to, of course, continue to build my food brand. Um, that is that's my baby right there, and going to enter into this homeschool journey and we are gonna grow the absolute hell out of this podcast, all while protecting my peace and just growing with you guys and talking with you guys and allowing this to be an outlet for me as well. So I just wanted to come on here and say I miss you guys, I love you guys. I'm so incredibly happy to be back. And I just want you guys to know too that it's okay to work hard and dream big, but don't forget to just look around every once in a while and enjoy the life that you're building. Because I did that, we need to stop doing that. If you feel personally attacked, then fix it. Because you guys you you have to soak up um what you're doing, and you guys have to clap for yourself sometimes, and you have to be proud of yourself sometimes, and yeah. So um just remember a couple key points. Not every season has to be your most productive. Sorry, I busted out my journal for this. I wrote a few things that have gotten me through. So hang on. Okay, not every season has to be your most productive. It's okay to change your pace without changing your goals. And sometimes you need to step back so you have more clarity on what you're pushing hard for. So I hope that helps you as much as those have helped me. But again, I love you guys so, so much, and I am so happy to be back. I will see you guys every dang Sunday. All right, bye bye.
