Are you worried? Are you overwhelmed by anxious, restless thoughts? Have you ever said, I've always been a nervous person, I can't change. Today I share anxiety to peace scriptures so you can exchange anxiety and rest in peace through the power of God's Word. Restore your heart starts right now. I'm your host, Cheryl Keispreck Turner. Each week I bring tips and tools from God's Word to help you identify and overcome triggers, trauma, or tragedy. When your heart is hurting or broken, God's heart breaks right along with yours. If you're anything like me, you've asked questions like, why am I going through this? Or when will my suffering ever end? Will my pain ever stop? You felt abandoned? You felt alone. Be encouraged. You've found a friend here who knows. God understands each hurt. God cares about each loss. Everything that has happened to you has broken God's heart. Let's get started. I remember as a young mom, I was anxious. For the first five years of each of their lives, our children struggled with ear infections and bronchitis. I became overly worried about their health. It seemed as if everybody else was confident and hopeful except me. I was worried and fearful. Maybe you can relate. Did you know anxiety disorders affect over 40 million adults in the United States? Anxiety can cause us to be fearful and overthink a situation. It makes us feel out of control and prevents us from enjoying life. We can find comfort and peace in God's word that promises us hope and a future. Fear, worry, and anxiety are all weapons of Satan to keep us from trusting in God and walking by faith in Him. These emotions can overwhelm us and keep us paralyzed. You can be free from worry and anxiety by meditating on God's word and casting your cares upon Jesus. Start today and take small steps toward living fully free from anxiety. There's a reason and a purpose for our anxiety as we respond to trials, triggers, and trauma. When God says, cast all your cares upon me, He's not commanding us to turn off a part of our brain. He wants us to go to Him when we're anxious. Billy Graham once said, the Bible is not an option, it's a necessity. And this is especially true in times of despair that can lead to anxiety and fear. Here are a few scriptures to encourage you today. Hebrews 13, 6. We can confidently say, the Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me? Philippians 4, 6 through 7. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Psalm 42, 5. Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God. Second Corinthians 4, 8 through 9. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed, perplexed, but not driven to despair, persecuted, but not forsaken, struck down but not destroyed. Psalm 23, 1 through 6. The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul, he guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You have anointed my head with oil, my cup overflows. Surely goodness and loving kindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Revelation twenty-one verse four. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying, nor pain any more, for the former things have passed away. First Peter five, six through seven. Humble yourselves then under God's mighty hand, so that he will lift you up in his own good time. Leave all your worries with him because he cares for you. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul. Isaiah 43 1. But now this is what the Lord says Fear not, I have redeemed you, I have summoned you by name, you are mine. Proverbs 12 25. John 14, 27. Peace is what I leave with you. It's my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset, but do not be afraid. Psalm 55, 22. Cast your cares on the Lord, and he will sustain you. He will never let the righteous fall. Luke 12, 7. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are numbered. Don't be afraid, you are worth more than many sparrows. Luke 12, 22 through 26. Do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens. They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn, yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds. Who of you, by worrying, can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? Psalm 46, 1 through 3. God is our refuge and strength and ever present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, and the mountains quake with their surging. Psalm 55, 22. Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you. He will never permit the righteous to be moved. Proverbs 3:5 through 6. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Remember, God's word is your weapon to fight your anxiety. Here's a review of our three tips about how to overcome worry and anxiety with God's Word. Tip number one, choose one verse that speaks to you. I know it's hard to do, but one verse can change your whole attitude. Tip number two, write down the verse on a note, three by five card, or screensaver on your phone. Keep the card or verse handy where you can pray it during the day. Tip number three, read your verse aloud every hour. Exchange your anxiety for peace. 2 Timothy 1.7. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound light. In today's show notes, you can print the anxiety to peace verses and speak them aloud every day this week. Let God's truth change your anxiety to peace. Thanks for joining me for restore your heart. If you have anxiety, remember, greater is he that is in you than he that's in the world. In Christ, if God is for you, who can be against you? You don't have to strive to earn what God has already given you. You can rest in his promises. I hope you subscribe and leave a review at Cheryl G T.com.
