Feeding Lambs is for our youngest believers and friends in the kingdom. In season one, we are mirroring Feeding Sheep in the sense that we are covering topics that are getting us “back to the basics.”

We will be discussing foundational truths in this season that everyone needs to know and be able to grow and build upon in the times to come.

“God has a Plan for Me” uses Ephesians 2:10 as our text of choice and memory verse for the week. We will discuss how God not only made us, but He created and chose us with a plan for our whole lives in mind.

Just like we plan our day, week, or weekend or how mom’s meal plan and teacher’s make lesson plans, God has a plan for our lives already mapped out.

We don’t have to worry about what we are going to do, or being in His perfect plan, as long as we are in right relationship with Him.

The Bible tells us that the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord and He delights in His way, so if we are praying, reading and listening, our desires are lining up with God’s desires for us, and our obedience to what we hear from God puts us right in the steps on the path that He has planned for us to take.

His plan begins with salvation, being “born again,” or asking Jesus into our heart…however you may be familiar with saying it, and then we progress from that beginning into the fullness of His plan for us.

We don’t have to worry about figuring it out, because He already has! There’s such a peace in knowing that, and if our little lambs can learn to trust God and His plan now, there will be so much less anxiety in their lives over what the future holds. They will just walk right into it! Being led by the Holy Spirit of course!

The most important place we can connect with our children is through sharing our faith. God at the center of any relationship only allows it to become as strong as it can be. Don’t just build memories of vacations, adventures, sports, or school, build memorials of faith that will last throughout eternity.

We pray that you will listen with your children and let these “mini podcasts” be a doorway to having important conversations about living out their faith, and what it means. Take time to ask them questions and really engage in their spiritual walk! It’ll transform the whole spiritual dynamic of the family if you will.

Please feel free to let your children know that they can reach out—with help from their parents of course—with any questions or topics that they would like to see covered, or they can send in recordings of them doing their weekly memory verses!

We want them to know that this podcast is just as much for them as it is for the teens/adults. Can’t wait to see how they grow from here!

God bless, and thank you for the opportunity to speak into their lives. What an honor it is!

Hello, my little lambs. Welcome back to Feeding Sheep Podcast. This is season one, episode nine. Today we are going to be talking about God has a plan for me. So I hope this message finds you well, and I hope that you're doing very good and that you're off to a great start in your day. And before we go in and dive into our lesson, as always, we are going to do our memory verse. I'm going to read it to you first, and then I will give you a chance to read it with me and repeat after me. So today's memory verse comes from Ephesians chapter 2, verse 10, and it says, For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. Ephesians 2, 10. Now, if you'll just repeat after me, are you ready? Here we go. For we are his workmanship. Created in Christ Jesus for good works. Which God prepared beforehand. So that we would walk in them. Ephesians 2, 10. Okay. You did great, and I'm excited to see what happens today. Okay, does anybody know what a plan is? Have you ever made a plan? Um I started trying to think, and I can only think about grown-up things. It's hard for me to think about kid things anymore. So um, whenever I thought about a plan, basically what a plan is, is something that you sit down ahead of time before something happens and you map out how you want the future to go, and then you follow the instructions that you created ahead of time and you do them. So maybe for you, if you're in school already and you're learning how to write essays, um, sometimes before you write the essay, you have to sit down and you have to make a graph or a chart. You have to plan out what your topic is, and then what are the points that you're gonna talk about regarding your topic? And then what are the subtopics that you're gonna present in each paragraph? And you map out how your essay is going to go, and then you start to write it. You do your opening, then your three paragraphs in the middle, and then your conclusion at the end. And um, it's just to help you stay on target so that you don't go off into left field or start talking about something that you don't need to. My mom brain and my old lady brain, I started thinking about how moms will make a meal plan and they'll cook dinner, they'll plan dinner for the month when they go grocery shopping, and they'll sit down and they'll decide on Monday we're gonna eat this, on Tuesday, we're gonna eat this, Wednesday, you know, etc. So they write out on their meals, then they write out all their ingredients that they need. Then they go to the grocery store and they purchase all of the things that they need. And then every day they do all of that preparation ahead of time so that every day they have whatever they need to make that meal so that you can be fed. Or your teachers, um, when they teach you, they have to sit down and they have to have time by themselves so that they can make lesson plans. They have to decide what they're gonna teach you on what day of the week and when that's gonna go. Sometimes they plan a whole nine weeks, sometimes they plan a whole semester, and they follow that plan because they want to wind up at a certain place. They want to start teaching you something, and then by the end of the semester, they want to make sure that you know A, B, C, D, and E about that topic. And unless they make a plan, they won't be sure that they get to A, B, D, C, A, B, C, D, and E. And so they might skip one. So they make a plan, and then you follow the plan and you have your work every day, and then by the end of the semester, the end of the nine weeks, you know what you're supposed to know. And so we know that we do that as kids, we do it as adults because it's something that helps us. But what we may not know is that God has a plan for us. He's got a plan for our life. He didn't just create us. We talked about in the beginning of this first season on the podcast that God made us, that he created us with his own two hands, on purpose, for a purpose. And so God has a plan for that purpose. He knit us together in our mother's womb. He formed us with our own two, with his own two hands, like the potter does the clay. Do you remember? Okay. And so God has a plan. He didn't just create us and shape us, but he built us on purpose. He built us and created us in Christ Jesus for good works. And he prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them, which means that God had a plan before he ever created us for what he wanted us to do while we were on this earth. And for some of us, that plan, or for all of us, the first step to that plan is that we accept Jesus as our personal savior, or that we become born again, or you may know it and hear it at your church or um in your Sunday school classes, that you become saved, which is just a fancy word for meaning that you give your life to Jesus, that you believe that Jesus came, that he died for your sins, that he rose again, and that he's coming back for you. You believe it in your heart, you confess your sins with your mouth, um, and you confess and profess that Jesus Christ is Lord. And then you are no longer your old self, but you are made brand new in Jesus Christ. And that's very simple and sometimes it can be really complicated, but it's just um it's just believing in Jesus, accepting his sacrifice that he made on Calvary for your for your sins and for my sins, inviting him in to our lives to be the king or the Lord of our lives. And he's a good choice because he's the one that made us and created us, and he's the one that has a plan for us. So part of that plan is to accept him as our Lord and Savior. He doesn't want to make us, he wants us to choose to do it on our own. And if you're ready to do that, praise the Lord. Find someone who will pray with you. Um, I wish I could be there to pray with you, but I know I'm praying for you. Um, but I know that there are people around you that would pray for you at your church or your parents or your grandparents, somebody that you love, somebody that you trust, they can they can pray with you and guide you in that part of God's plan for you. But the rest of the plan is that no matter if we're gonna be some God planned for some people to be doctors, God planned for some people to be teachers, God planned for some people to work um as receptionists or to be chefs and cooks. God planned for some people to be farmers and help make food for everyone. God planned for some people to become veterinarians to help take care of his creation and all of his animals. Um God has great big plans, and and all of our plans are different. Um, but they all begin with salvation and accepting him as our Lord and Savior. And he made the plan for our life. He said, you know, um, I'm gonna create Susie. And when I create Susie, I want Susie to be born, and I want to put her in the family that she's in, and I'm going to let her be born in the state or in the community that she's in. And when she is this many years old, I'm going to let her be introduced to me through the power of the gospel, and I'm going to give her an opportunity to accept me as her savior. And when she accepts me as her savior, I'm going to have little Susie go on to go to school and to um walk through all of her classes and to meet all of these people. And because she's born again, I'm going to use all of that time that she's in school for her to speak to her friends about me, for her to pray for other people. Um, then maybe she's gonna go to college, or maybe I want her to go to college and she's gonna get a degree and she's gonna go on and she's gonna be a teacher, and she's gonna teach people math or English or science, and while she's doing that, she's gonna be a light for me. Even though she works a regular job like a regular human being, she's gonna be different because she's saved, because she's born again. And so she's gonna bring my presence into every area of this life. Um, some people are born to be preachers, some people are born to be worshipers, some people are born to write songs or write books or whatever. But whatever we do, those good works that He created us for in Christ Jesus, he prepared beforehand that we would walk in those good works. Uh, the Bible says that the steps of a good man they are ordered of the Lord and He delights in His way. God already has all of your steps laid out. You don't have to overthink it, and you don't have to worry yourself with it, and you don't have to lose sleep over it. All you have to do is you just be in a relationship with Jesus. You just pray and you just live your life to please the Lord, and as you live your life to please the Lord, you will fall in line with the steps that he tells you to. Um, when he tells you to apply for this or to um go to a certain place or to go to a certain school, you just say yes, Lord, and you be obedient. And with every step of obedience, it lines you up to step into the plans that God has for you. So I want you to know that you're not here on this planet for no reason. You are here because God desires you to show forth his glory and for you to do good things. Um, everybody's good things look different. It's not always award-winning things that are good things. Sometimes it's being kind to people on the street, it's praying for people when they have needs. Those are good things. Those are things that God looks at and he says, That's exactly what I wanted my people to do. That's exactly what I want her to do today. I want her to tell somebody about Jonah and the big fish today. I want her or I want him to tell somebody about David and Goliath today so that they will know that God is mighty and that he is gives us power to take down the giants. You know, um, it's not always the things that the world acknowledges, but the plans of God are precious and they are for you. And he's got a whole, he's got all of it mapped out before you were ever even created. He had everything all laid out, exactly what he wants you to do. And all you have to do is just be obedient and you'll live and walk in that plan, and you'll be successful, and people will see Jesus because of you. How amazing is that! So today we are going to wrap up our session on God has a plan for me, and we're gonna read our memory verse one more time, and I pray today that you walk in the plan of God for your life, that you live out the good works that He's called you to do, that you be a great student, or you go to daycare and you be amazing today, or pray for your friends, um, pray for your parents, um, speak life into other people because you're not too small. God can use you even now because his plans don't begin when you're old like me. His plans begin when you're right where you are, and his plans for you actually have already started. They started the day that you were born, and you are living in the plan of God for your life right now. Isn't that exciting? I can't wait to see what your future holds and who you become and what God uses you to do for the rest of your life. Okay, so here's this verse. Ephesians chapter 2, verse 10. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, so that we would walk in them. I love you. I hope you have the best day, and I will see you next week as we talk about God sees me.
