Feeding Lambs is for our youngest believers and friends in the kingdom. In season one, we are mirroring Feeding Sheep in the sense that we are covering topics that are getting us “back to the basics.”

We will be discussing foundational truths in this season that everyone needs to know and be able to grow and build upon in the times to come.

“God Teaches Me” uses Isaiah 54:13 as our text of choice and memory verse for the week. We will discuss how God teaches us and what that training brings into our lives and the sources He uses to teach us.

Just as our earthly parents and other adults teach us along life’s journey, God does the same. He’s so amazing that He equips us with a built in teacher when we become born again—the Holy Spirit.

His Word teaches us, Holy Spirit speaks to us and helps teach and guide us, we learn through prayer, and through the believers that the Lord has placed around us in our lives.

Last weeks lesson on correction really set us up for today’s lesson. God uses correction as a teaching method, along with our life experiences.

He starts teaching us young because we are never too small to be of use and value in His kingdom. No matter our age, we are just as much of a son or daughter of God as any grown up  can find, and we’re never too small to fulfill his purpose in our lives!

I hope that you and your littles enjoy today’s word. Can’t wait to see you back for Season 2 on June 5!

The most important place we can connect with our children is through sharing our faith. God at the center of any relationship only allows it to become as strong as it can be. Don’t just build memories of vacations, adventures, sports, or school, build memorials of faith that will last throughout eternity.

We pray that you will listen with your children and let these “mini podcasts” be a doorway to having important conversations about living out their faith, and what it means. Take time to ask them questions and really engage in their spiritual walk! It’ll transform the whole spiritual dynamic of the family if you will.

Please feel free to let your children know that they can reach out—with help from their parents of course—with any questions or topics that they would like to see covered, or they can send in recordings of them doing their weekly memory verses!

We want them to know that this podcast is just as much for them as it is for the teens/adults. Can’t wait to see how they grow from here!

God bless, and thank you for the opportunity to speak into their lives. What an honor it is!

Good morning, my little lambs. Welcome back to Feeding Sheep Podcast, Little Lambs Edition. I am back with you today for our very last episode of season one. And I'm so grateful that you have joined me all the way through 12 episodes. I pray that you have learned so much and that you are going to stick around with me for season two, which is going to begin on June the 5th. Tell your mommy or your dad or whoever helps you listen to put it on the calendar that it's coming back. And I'd love to hear from you if you have any feedback or anything that you've learned, or if you've enjoyed it, ask a parent or a guardian to help you. You can send me a message because you can comment on the podcast or you can send me a message on Facebook with the help of a grown-up. And I would love to hear from you. And I'm just so happy that you've tuned in and I pray that you've enjoyed it. And I am gearing up, and I hope you're gearing up for round two. It's going to be spectacular. But before we do that, we are going to finish up our last lesson today with episode 12, God Teaches Me. Before we dive in, we're going to do our memory verse as always. And it's coming from Isaiah 54 and 13. And I'm going to be using the English Standard Version. And it says, All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children. So if you would just say that with me, here we go. Just repeat after me. All your children shall be taught by the Lord. And great shall be the peace of your children. Isaiah 54, 13. All right, let's dive in. So last week we were talking about how that God corrects us. And it kind of gave us the perfect setup for today for us to finish on God teaches us. And he teaches us through his word. He teaches us through vessels like pastors and preachers and teachers and our parents, grandparents, those who are believers. Sometimes we have experiences and he teaches us what we're supposed to learn from those things. He teaches us even when he corrects us. And the point of that correction is so that we learn, so that we become who he's called us to be, so that we stay on the right path, and so that we adhere to the teachings that he has given us. And so I'm gonna have a bunch of scriptures today that I want to give you. I know that's a little bit different than normal, but I hope you're okay with it. 2 Timothy 3 and 15 says, from an infant, you have known the holy scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. And um before you and I were ever born, the scriptures were available. Some of us, we may not have ever been able to hear them, some of us may not have grown up in a Christian home from birth. Um, but I do want to give you good news that the Lord let you find this podcast. And if if nowhere else you are gonna be able to hear the scriptures that the Lord has given us from this platform. And so you're gonna start right where you are. If you've never heard anything about the Lord or His Word or His plan or anything, you're gonna be able to have it. It's always been around, but you're gonna be exposed to it now. And um, we've had access to it. We've known the holy scriptures, which are able to make us wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. We're learning um not only about the world around us, but we are learning about Jesus and we are learning how that he gave his life for us. We are learning why he needed to be a sacrifice. We're learning um, or we will be learning on on this podcast, or you maybe you've learned it already, but we're gonna be learning about the Old Testament and how things were before Jesus came and where um where those systems and things that were put in place weren't exactly what was needed, but they had to be in place so that they could teach us to appreciate the gift of Jesus Christ. Um, because sometimes you have to understand that certain things aren't going to work for you. You have to exhaust all the other resources before you uh finally can appreciate the real, the real thing that's gonna change everything. And um also John 14 and 6 says, the Holy Spirit will teach you all things and remind you of everything I told you. So what's really cool is that the Lord gives us these scriptures, he puts people in our lives to help us understand them. But the greatest gift of all is that he gives us the Holy Spirit to live on the inside of us. It's not a big scary man that comes in and opens up your body and and and moves inside your heart, but it's it's the spirit of the Lord. You can't see him. Um he's not imaginary, he's not an imaginary friend. I'm trying to think of the best way that I could help you to understand, help me, Lord. Um, but the Holy Spirit comes in and it's a part of God. It's a part of God, and he comes in and you can't see him, but he is the teacher, and he lives inside of us. He doesn't take up a lot of space because, like I said, he's invisible, so he's not taking up much room, but he lives in there and he's teaching us and he's talking to us. Have you ever had a thought where you thought you were gonna do something, and something inside of you said, I don't think you need to do that. That's not a really good idea. Uh, some people will say that that's your conscience. Uh, some people, though, who believe will say that that's the Holy Spirit talking to you because you've been taught to do better, but you're trying to go the wrong way. And so the Holy Spirit is saying, Don't do that, because he's trying to help you. He's trying to correct you, he's trying to teach you that there's a better way, there's a better decision that you can make right now in this moment than the one that you're trying to make. And so as we learn and as we grow, the Holy Spirit that's living inside of us, he will help us remember the things that we've been taught. Some of you may not remember what our first episode was or the first time that you join me and our friends in this podcast, you may not remember what the lesson was. But there'll come a time where you'll need to remember, and it's in there. It's been buried in your mind, it's been buried in your memories and in your heart. And because of that, when you need it, the Holy Spirit will say, Hey, do you remember that one time you were listening? And she told you that God created you and He made you and He formed you like clay and all of the things, and you'll be like, Yes, I do. And then you'll be able to use that lesson in your current situation because he'll allow us to remember the things that we need in the moments that we need him. Because he's so, God is so cool, and he does awesome things like that for us because he loves us and he wants to be a part of our lives. He teaches us and he trains us so that we will be complete, so that we won't have any any holes or any gaps. He trains us and teaches us so that we will be righteous, which I hope that you've learned throughout this season. Righteous just means basically right with God. I'm in right standing with God. Um, so the teachings and his training makes us righteous and right standing with God. It also produces peace in our lives. It helps us to not have anxiety or be nervous about things. He he gives our mind peace and he gives our body rest, and um, he teaches us and trains us so that we will be effective and productive children in his kingdom. Because I don't know if anybody told you or not. I think I've already told you, but I'm gonna tell you again. You are never too small to be the hands and feet of Jesus in somebody's life. You are never too little to do kingdom work. You are just as much, whether you're five months old or five years old or 10 years old, you are just as much a child of God and a servant of God as I am at 38 years old, or like your grandparents are at 60 or 80 or however old they are. When you are born again and you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, you are just as much a son or a daughter as anyone else, and you have just as much of a valuable role in God's kingdom as anybody else does. Don't ever let anybody tell you different. The Lord loves children and he loves your heart for him, and he will use you and he will give you gifts that you can't even imagine, and he will let you be a vessel that he can flow through and touch other people's lives. He teaches us through his word, through his Holy Spirit, through correction and through the experiences that we have in this life. Um, because he's personal, he's a good, good personal savior. He's a personal teacher. And um, the cool part about being a servant of the Lord is that we have the built-in teacher of the Holy Spirit. And so God teaches us not just from outside sources, not just through his word, but through our built-in teacher, the Holy Spirit that lives on the inside of us. I hope you have the best day in the whole wide world today. And I hope that you are uh going to step into your summer break. If you're uh getting out of school, I hope you step into your summer break with all the fun to be had and all the joy in your heart. Enjoy this summer and this time off from school. It'll be back before you know it. And I pray that you join me on June the 5th for feeding lambs. Uh, even though you're not in school and you won't be in the car ride on the way there listening, uh, I pray that you guys will pick up the tablet or the phone or wherever you're watching it from. And I hope you'll tune in with me. I love you so much, and I'll see you next time, okay? I pray you've learned a lot in our season one of Back to the Basics. Join us for season two beginning June 5th. God bless you and have the best day and the best weekend ever. And a good memorial day. It's coming up on Monday. I hope you get to go swimming or eat some good barbecue food, hamburgers, or hot dogs, or have a cookout or something. Um, and I'll see you next time. Bye bye.
