SPEAKER_00

Welcome to the Argue Your Point podcast. Here are your hosts, Jeff Leetri and Mason Leetri.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, alright. Go ahead. What? Welcome to episode 17 of Argue Your Point.

SPEAKER_03

And we got a good one today. I actually wasn't producing this one. You were producing, I added some stuff later on, but for now, I think I'll start us off.

SPEAKER_01

But um Can you put that microphone a little closer to your well? Pull the microphone closer.

SPEAKER_03

Macklin Salbrini had a five five-point game. You think he's a superstar? Or you think he's just had a great game?

SPEAKER_01

Hold on, before we get into that, um I'm gonna start off with saying I ran three miles today. It was super tough. And man, it's hard at 46 years old to run three miles. It's difficult, but I'm getting back in the swing of running. I enjoy health and wellness. And you've been running too, right, Mason? You've been running uh half a mile a day? How's that going?

SPEAKER_03

Going good.

SPEAKER_01

Awesome. Today, what was your time today? Remember?

SPEAKER_03

Um, so I didn't actually stop it. So if you look in the app, it says two hours.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_03

But I rest I estimate like five hours.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Well, you're doing it every day, and that's awesome. The more you do it, the more you um you get better at it, get the muscle memory in, all that good stuff. Um so before we just get into the first thing that you want to get into, let's just kind of go over what we're gonna talk about today. Um, the Sabres are surgeon, they've got 102 points that are at the top of the Eastern Conference standing. 104, I'm sorry, you're right. And um the Masters is going on. We've got it playing in the background. Uh Bobby McIntyre is is currently the one showing. I think he's three over today. He's not having a great day. But Rory McElroy is pretty much so far the story leading the first round, uh, tied for tied with Sam Burns at five under. Um gets shot a 67 in the first round. It's one of the first uh one of the few rare first round uh underpower rounds that he's had. So uh yeah, I mean he got the monkey off his back last year. He's got the career grand slam. He was able to rejoice and celebrate, and now um he's probably just playing free.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And then we'll talk into a little about a little NFL drama. You gotta get that like pointing too towards you. All right. All right. So um go ahead. All right, go ahead. What we what did you want to start with?

SPEAKER_03

Uh I'm talking about um Macklin thought bringing it a five-point game. You think he's a future superstar, or you think it's just a good game?

SPEAKER_01

A future superstar? He's currently future, he's currently a superstar.

SPEAKER_03

Well, is he gonna be future one of the hall one maybe even in the hall of fame?

SPEAKER_01

He's he's the best prospect the NFL has seen. NHL. NHL, I'm sorry, thanks. NHL has seen since uh um Kenneth McDavid. He's actually on pace with Kennet McDavid as far as games played and points scored in in the first uh I don't know how many games it's been. Is it is it it's his first no, it's not his first year, is it? Who? Salvaney second year.

SPEAKER_03

Second year. Let me check here, but what team does he play for?

SPEAKER_01

He's a pla uh San Jose.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Oh, you checked that. You want to give us the rundown?

SPEAKER_01

I um I already gave the rundown. That was the Sabres, the Masters, the NFL.

SPEAKER_03

He is a rookie, his number one overall pick.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so he was a rookie this year.

SPEAKER_03

Definitely live up to that uh hype for now, but that's funny. Will Smith is on the Will Smith plays for two teams now. That's funny, but um should we start off with the NFL quickets?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, let's do some quick hits. Kirk Cousins. Guess what this guy did. And you tell me if this is uh a big deal or not a big deal. His first day he walks into the stadium. Hey, how you doing? I'm Kirk Cousins, I'm gonna quarterback here. Oh hey, how you doing? Hello. Oh, is this is this in my locker room? Oh, nice. And then he steps on the the seal of the Raiders logo. You're never supposed to do that. Not it, not a player, not a raiders, or just like in any any uh sporting locker room or arena.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, in the locker room?

SPEAKER_01

Wherever it may reside. I don't know if it's in the locker room or if it was just outside the locker room. It's probably in the locker room. I don't know that for a fact, but it probably was. It's just an un you know spoken thing that you just you just don't do that. It's uh like in hockey, you never put your jersey on the floor. You know, you put it on a bench, have someone hold it, but you never let it touch the ground. Like an American flag. So it it's kind of um in a sports world, you you just don't step on the logo. So do so do you think that's uh overhyped or or not a big deal? What's a big deal? What's your take on it?

SPEAKER_03

I don't think it's a big deal. No, I mean he's it's not like he was drafted by the Raiders, it's just it's not really a big deal.

SPEAKER_01

Well he had apologized for it.

SPEAKER_03

Did you like walk on the logo intentionally just like walk over it randomly?

SPEAKER_01

He walked over random.

SPEAKER_03

He did he didn't like He didn't intentionally do this, yeah. No, no, that's your problem. I think it's stupid. What's the point? Okay.

SPEAKER_01

I yeah, I get I get your side of it. I get your side of it. Um yeah, cool. What's your point? Is investigating the NFL's um investing in NFL. They're citing antitrust concerns tied to media rights. The Sunday ticket on YouTube is uh a big hot topic, and basically they're saying is the NFL too powerful? Um, you know, they got deals with Amazon, Netflix, CBS, NBC, and um I don't know, some people just think maybe they're getting too big. Any thoughts on that?

SPEAKER_03

Um I don't really like this segment here.

SPEAKER_01

It's just uh tidbit.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I I don't really care. I mean, it's just kind of stupid, but most uh TV I mean I guess most um TV shows probably just radio stations or any local news probably just has a game on. So it's most likely gonna be beautiful on cable or anywhere.

SPEAKER_01

But do you think the NFL's too powerful?

unknown

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Sound crap goes up every season. You know why? Because they s because they're spending tons of money and they're also getting a lot of money from YouTube TV. It was like four hundred dollars a month. Four hundred dollars for the entire season.

SPEAKER_01

Four hundred million?

SPEAKER_03

No, four hundred dollars for for someone to buy it, yeah. Yeah, not four, it was like three hundred, but it was a lot.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so the NFL's is the NFL too powerful though?

SPEAKER_03

I'm gonna say no.

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_03

I think I think they have equal power.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Um, so I was checking online and someone from NFL.com had suggested that the Bills trade their number one overall pick.

SPEAKER_03

Number one first round pick.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the first round, 26 overall pick to the Eagles in exchange for AJ Brown.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, that's never gonna go through. The Patriots tried to send a first and a third for AJ Brown. That didn't even go through.

SPEAKER_01

Well, maybe maybe they don't want to give the pick to maybe they don't want the Patriots to have AJ Brown.

SPEAKER_03

They're not even the same. I mean, it makes sense if it was like the Giants, like the Eagles trying or AJ Brown trying to go Giants, but they're not even the same. Eagles are NFC. Patriots AC East, Eagles NFC East. I don't even think they play each other.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, well let's just say that this does happen. In this let's just play a thought exercise, and this does happen. What would you um I would love it?

SPEAKER_03

That's it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I'd love having a number one receiver. He doesn't it doesn't really seem like he wants to go to the Patriots. Because when he was with the Titans, yeah he does. Listen, listen to me. Okay. When he was with the Titans, the reason he wanted to leave the Titans, because he'd never because he did not like Vrabel. Now it wouldn't make sense for him to join the Patriots with Vrabel again.

SPEAKER_01

That's a good that's a really good point, Mason. Um but hasn't he l hasn't he like wrote some cryptic text saying that he wants to go Patriots or or he was on a he was on a Patriots podcast? That's what it was.

SPEAKER_03

No, I think he said he said that uh he would go if Rabel is on the coach. He doesn't like Rabel.

SPEAKER_01

Really?

SPEAKER_03

He said during day one Titans he was like humiliated by him.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I mean he was drafted there, but no, so it could all happen. No. I don't think he has no trade clause. So they could just get traded. He might not even like it, but well actually no, they can't just decline trades, you have to send an extension to the team. But yeah. I think if we had him or not, if the bill is Oh boy. We got some breaking news here.

SPEAKER_01

What? Is this serious breaking news or just it is serious breaking news.

SPEAKER_03

Alright, hold on. Buffalo breaking news. BBN.

SPEAKER_01

Go ahead with it. Let's hear it.

SPEAKER_03

Goalie Owl's lion will miss star the playoffs with strange lower body muscle.

SPEAKER_01

Oh.

SPEAKER_03

So Colin Ellis will be maybe to bring up a I guess a check.

SPEAKER_01

Um Lion is out. That's that's that is tough.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, he has a strange lower body muscle. So I have to call an Ellis.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, call an Ellis. He doesn't have that much experience. He started his first NHL game ever this season with the Sabres.

SPEAKER_03

Oh I think he says could, so he might it's not like official, but there is a chance, pretty good chance that he might uh Well Lukanen's just gonna have to play his mind out and just play a ton of games.

SPEAKER_01

And I'm sure that's not I'm sure he looks forward to that. Hopefully he can he's gotta stay healthy though, too.

SPEAKER_03

Could be two games, you know, to come back.

SPEAKER_01

If Lukanen got injured, gosh, I don't even want to think that. But if he did, would would we have to call up Devin Levy?

SPEAKER_03

I think we should.

SPEAKER_01

I think we probably could, and we probably not Ryan Miller or Ashek, but well, I mean he's he might be the next best option. Yeah, we trade him regardless of when like the Vesna. You know, you don't even need to um compare him to anyone. It's just what our best you're talking about, Miller?

SPEAKER_03

No, I'm talking about uh Devin Levi. Like, no. But who so Devin uh Devin Levi? Yeah. But um that has not happened. UPL's not injured. We're good.

SPEAKER_01

So uh yeah, do you want to talk about so the Bills started their voluntary OTAs, and Dean Dawkins had this to say. It was cool. First day back, first day jitters, you know, got to see some new teammates, got to see a new head coach, got to see a new vibe, like the energy is definitely got I like the energy, it is definitely different. So that's cool. Um what uh what what is your take on that? Um let's see, does a new head coach actually change a team's energy, or is it just early offseason hype? You know, that's kind of the the general broad question, but I'll just pose it to you to like um to this. What uh you know what do you think uh Joe Brady brings that Sean McDermott didn't?

SPEAKER_03

Well, let's start off here. Um Sean McDermott was we all know he's a defensive money coach. Yeah. That's what he was. And being the coach with 13 years in no, actually not it was like seven years. It wasn't that long, but um being the head coach, not having a single Super Bowl, I feel like you might lose more trust in your coach if you're not delivering with the weapons you have. Well, okay, let I'm gonna I'm going on something here. Okay, okay, go ahead. Bringing in Joe Brady, they have new um they have new they're ready, they don't know what to expect. If they see the energy from him really good, then they're gonna love it. But if they see he's like, okay, go, just go play and win, then they're gonna be like, no, I don't wanna the energy won't be as high.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I'll say, you know, vibe-wise, you know, I haven't been around Joe Brady, but I definitely got used to what Sean McDermott was. He was a straight-laced, super focused, serious dude. Um, and in his press conference, he could have been a little bit robotic. He didn't give you much more than what the media that is, more than you know, what was on the script to say. He he really stuck to a a lot of um script talk, cliches, very robotic. You know, he wouldn't get very emotional ever. And um, and coming from like you know, when we had Rex Ryan, like that was like a welcome thought, you know. I mean, he was the opposite, he was just like bananas, Rex Ryan. And and then we had this straight-laced guy that um took us to the playoffs, and we're like, Yeah, this is what we need, this is great, even though you know the press conferences is not that revealing. Um and then you had Joe Brady in his introductory press conference, you could tell he was way, way, way different. He um he didn't have that bravado, he didn't have that seriousness, he was just um kind of like one of the guys, and I think he's gonna bring that one of the guys' vibe. Now, I think that can work, I think that that will work. However, if things go, you know, if things go off the rail and they don't win games and they are losing games, then you know, then that's not gonna jive with uh with the team. But if they're winning and he's got that that vibe, yeah, he can make it really fun. Hopefully he will still hold people accountable. But um, I see a totally di totally different style between McDermott and Brady, even though we don't we haven't really seen McDramy McDermott, no, excuse me, Brady. Um coaching this team, yeah, really head coaching position wise. Uh we'll see. I think I think he's gonna be much more revealing. He's gonna be a little more emotional. He's gonna be inexperienced, obviously. So um, we're gonna get all that wrapped into one, and uh, I'm I'm excited to see it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, but here's what I don't understand. Some people were like, oh, I don't I hate the Joe Brady signing. I don't like it. It's horrible. Why would they hire him? But they don't realize that they interviewed like 10 coaches, they interviewed a bunch of guys, and he was the best pick for Buffalo. They didn't uh just just chew them because he was the hallway of the hallway. They interviewed everyone. Not everyone, they interviewed Grimal guys, and he's the best one that picked. He's the one that they wanted.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah. Um cool, yeah. So on the onto the Sabres last night, and they play in a few hours here. Last night they took care of business, they came from behind to beat the Rangers 5-3. They now are atop of the Atlantic, 104 points. With we have three games left. Uh Tampa and Montreal are at 102. They've got four games left. I I I know they play each other at some point.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know if that's tonight or Sabre and Tampa?

SPEAKER_01

No, Tampa and Montreal play each other. Okay. I'll try. So yeah, we control our own destiny.

SPEAKER_03

Um they played tonight at seven.

SPEAKER_01

Yep, against Columbus, right?

SPEAKER_03

Tampa plays Montreal at seven.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay. Awesome. Yeah, so they play each other. We play Columbus.

SPEAKER_03

You want Montreal to win that game if we want to because they have um um less wins than uh Tampa? Oh, yeah, right. We'll still be in there.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I see your point there, yeah, right. Um so you know, Lion was hurt in the morning skate. You just heard Mason update us on that. He what did you say that he he's out for the playoffs or out for the start of the playoffs?

SPEAKER_03

He he's um looking, he's not out, he didn't officially roll him out, but it looks like he might be out for the first two to three games. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

So that's like April 19th, it starts. Today's the ninth. So that we're he's probably looking at like it out for two weeks, yeah. Uh Michael Kesselring is back. And uh Tuck revealed that he was playing through a little injury the other game, even though he had like an insane game where he got his 30th goal in six shots. Um, the last two games, Tuck has really stepped it up, I think.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. You also need to step it up? J Thompson, every fancy team.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I'm in the finals.

SPEAKER_01

He hasn't scored a point in four games. Four games.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so I actually benched him for Jack Hughes.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah. I wonder if he's nursing an injury. Last year it kind of seemed like he was doing that, but I don't know. I haven't seen so I know production-wise, um he hasn't produced a point in five games, like you said, or four games, but I haven't noticed him looking any different. I don't know. Um, have you? Have you does he look like he's injured? Nursing an injury?

SPEAKER_03

It doesn't look like it, but um you think the build I think the sabers are built for playoff run, or are they just a one-shop, one shop stop?

SPEAKER_01

Um I'm thinking a playoff run. Um I've gonna say I'm hoping that. I think getting a uh I think starting this this the playoffs at home will be big. The thing about the Sabres is they they they feed off energy. Some of those some of the most recent losses that we've had were games that really lacked energy, that were like boring in the cr and it was on the road, and the crowd wasn't into it, and the games were just stale, and sometimes you get that. You're not gonna get that in the playoffs because it whether you're on the home or the road, there's a ton of energy, and this team plays off energy and emotion, and when they get emotionally involved in games, they start making plays and they start scoring. And I love it, and I love that about this team.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, but now talking about the masters. I think you I actually want to uh start off with this segment here from Patrick Reed.

SPEAKER_01

Well, well, this is a little dated because I wrote this at 12 30.

SPEAKER_03

Right now it's tied, so uh Patrick Reed finished at 300. Yep, burned the McRoy tied at 500.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so Rory was even through six at the time of me setting this uh rundown up, and um he's made a bunch of really, really great shots. Uh he managed to get to five under, which uh in the clubhouse at five under, which is a great, great start for him. Yeah, and um the coverage is gonna be on Prime. So it's it's it's on the I've been what we have it on ESPN right now. It'll be on CBS on Saturday and Sunday. Um Prime adds two extra hours, but I put I don't know if it was our TV or whatever, but I put Prime on to just check out the coverage, and it just like froze on me. So I was like, I'm going back to ESPN. So I don't know if that whose fault that was, but uh what are you looking at over there? I'm looking at Cold B. Oh. Did you see the the our next segment, the Mahomes handshake? Look up Mahomes um handshake with Chris Collinsworth. We'll talk about it next. It looks um it's it's it sparked a bunch of memes because it kind of looks like it's set up.

SPEAKER_03

Take a look here.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and uh yeah, so so the image shows Mahomes in his red 15 jersey, Collinsworth in a suit against uh like a a desert Arizona, yeah, it's an Arizona desert backdrop. You do see a lot of greenery though. Um it's got 15,000 likes. Um and then um people rifled off the broadcaster's catchphrase. Now here's a guy in Mahomes, um all the the Mahomes fandom, they they they swapped out the referee for I mean they swapped out Collinsworth for a referee.

SPEAKER_03

And um, I thought I um sorry to interrupt you there, but I saw a meme and it was like Mahomes threw like threw down and he threw it to like Lyman. The the nounster's like Mahomes, Mahomes, like I showed you that uh photo video yesterday. The AI had an AI video of Mahomes getting uh beard jumped on his head.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Uh funny, but um all right, we're kind of jumping around here.

SPEAKER_01

You know, that's how the we just got a rundown, you know what I mean? So we went to Masters and went to NFL, um that that funny meme. And now we're going back to Masters. We've got a few things to talk about. They've got a dress code there, a strict dress code. Um, you have to give a shirt tucked in. I'm telling you right now, if I go to Masters, I'm not tucking my shirt in for nobody. But I don't know. I'm sure there's I'm sure they're not instrument enforcing that rule there, the Turk short turk shirt tucked in. Obviously for the players it is. But um bag size limit, no outside food or drink, but the food. The food there is like super cheap.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. They have an egg sandwich for like a dollar fifty.

SPEAKER_01

And they've got um what's their famous sandwich? Like it's just the uh no, the masters have a like a famous sandwich every year. Pum Pimento. Pimento Cheese.

SPEAKER_03

Even though I that's what I say here, even though I don't like um the um the other league of golf, what's it called? Live golf. Live golf. I'm not gonna do this for the golf tournament. I'm not gonna tuck my shirt in. That's no way. I'm doing I'm not no way.

SPEAKER_01

But um no phones, you're not allowed to have your phone there. Can't take pictures.

SPEAKER_03

No signs or banners, no yelling or music. That kind of makes sense. No yelling, right? But no music. I mean, you can probably have like well, you actually can't even have earphones on because you don't have a phone.

SPEAKER_01

No, no.

SPEAKER_03

Can you have phone like in your backpack or is it not even allowed to do that?

SPEAKER_01

No, not even on the property.

SPEAKER_03

How do you even check it just like a paper ticket?

SPEAKER_01

No, the no, they escort you off the property.

SPEAKER_03

No, like you just give you like paper tickets.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, the ticket? Yeah, I guess so. That's pretty cool.

SPEAKER_03

They probably give you like a wristband. Yeah, right. They're taking souvenirs.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like like if you've seen a azalea, you're not allowed to just pluck it off its stem and put it in your pocket. You can't you can't grab any of the dirt and put it in your pocket.

SPEAKER_03

That'd be a little. I mean, what if like a golf ball? Well, I mean, there's not really much souvenir unless there's like stuff like at like a little event. It's like, oh, three pins or something.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I mean, no, no, you can buy souvenirs, but I I think it means you're not allowed to take anything from the course as a souvenir.

SPEAKER_03

I think that's normal, but um chair rules. There's apparently chair chair rules.

SPEAKER_01

Um Yeah, I don't know what they are, but they've got some chair rules.

SPEAKER_03

Um masters. You allow one personal collapsible and almost here per person.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, when you're talking like that, it's fading. One I heard it now, but I heard it, it's just faded.

SPEAKER_03

So we're uh actually looking at the menu. Um you got this is so cheeseburger sliders, firecracker. That's for the dinner. There's a lot of stuff you can get.

SPEAKER_01

What what Rory's dinner?

SPEAKER_03

Pimento cheese. That's pretty good.

SPEAKER_01

What was on Rory's menu? Because every m every master's champion.

SPEAKER_03

Cheeseburger sliders, firecracker shrimp, papa chefs, meatball, ravioli bites, Texas style chili, wood fire cowboy ribot or blackened redfish. That also warm chocolate chip skill um skelet chuggy. Served in honor of oh, that's actually odd. I think it's last year. No, it's at the bottom. Served in honor of Ms. Scotty Shuffler.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay. But I remember when John Rahman, he had some weird stuff. Weird Spanish food.

SPEAKER_03

Taking a look here, um what is it?

SPEAKER_01

I can't say what you describe it to me.

SPEAKER_03

So we got um we got Bryson burgers.

SPEAKER_01

Bryce and burgers? Yep. Like Bryson DeShamble burgers?

SPEAKER_03

I think so.

SPEAKER_01

But he's not a master champion.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I don't know. Oh yeah, I gotta know. Peach and ricotta flatbread, bacon wrapped dates, rock shrimp depira, grilled elk sliders, yellow finishing, uhpranos, ragu filet mingon, and feared salmon, sticky cot toffee pudding.

SPEAKER_01

So Jason Kelsey was a caddy at the Par 3 tournament, and you know, he's be he was being his his Jason Kelsey kind of person, like all rugged and mom blue collar and and I beef jerky and and drink beer out of the can, kind of stuff like that. And uh fans didn't think that we needed another Kelsey at another event. It was like I understand he's taking advantage of the moment where he's making money and being invited to all these events, and he's a great podcaster. I hear him on 94 the whip all the time, and he's great at breaking down um you know, just just talking sports. He's really, really good at that. Um but his face everywhere and commercials and his wife, it's just it's so much, and I could see how I could run rub some fans the wrong way at the Masters, like you know, we don't need gimmicks at the Masters, you know. I guess that's kind of it's kind of gimmicky. Yeah, that's what it is.

SPEAKER_03

Um ready for a rabid fire. But I will be answering this with one word only. One word.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, hold on, let me get the music going.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

You're you're reading them.

SPEAKER_01

I'm reading him to you? Yes. Okay. What is the biggest Saber's concern right now?

SPEAKER_02

Experience.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Can you elaborate? No. It's just one word? Experience, alright. Master's Wittern prediction.

SPEAKER_03

Rory.

SPEAKER_01

Rory? Bill's trade yes or no on AJ Brown?

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

You think they're trading for AJ Brown?

SPEAKER_03

Yes. Okay, and I'm not gonna say trade in progress, but I think I'll in a um realistically, I'd like to have AJ Brown.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, and where do you think Dexter Lawrence from the New York Giants is going? Uh one, but you thinking?

SPEAKER_03

I'm gonna go Raiders.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Alright, there you go, folks. Rapid fire, one-word version.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe next time we'll do more questions. Okay, um, ready for definitely or definitely not?

SPEAKER_01

Definitely or definitely not. I am definitely ready. I hope I hope you can handle the um announcer responsibilities. I got it. Alright, you got it? Let's go.

SPEAKER_03

The Buffalo are the Buffalo Fabers peaking too early before the playoff. Definitely or definitely not.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Um, they are definitely not peaking too early. Um actually, I think they kind of, you know, they had a little bit of a peak in uh February, March. Um they they cooled down a little bit after the Olympic break. And um I I think they're just they're just they're just warming up right now. They're just warming up. They know it's gonna be uh amazing. They know that um it's gonna be something that they've been waiting for for a really, really long time. And um, you know, you know who the person who hasn't played who's played the most NHL games without playing in the playoffs is number one is Rasmus Ristalanin. What? Former Saber. Played the most NHL games without a playoff. Rasmus Ristalanin. So if if the Philly dealt if Philly gets in, that'll end. Um number two is Rasmus Dalin, current Buffalo Saber. Um, and we know that will end soon. So if Philly doesn't get in, it's still Rast Ristalinen. Um he was a good player, though. He's a good player for Buffalo. Okay, alright, so that's my answer. Sorry for the long-winded answer. Go ahead, number two.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, very hard. Alex Tugg, the most current player in Sabres right now. Jeffinely or definitely not?

SPEAKER_01

I'm going to say definitely, Alex Tuck is the most important player on the Sabres. He's the heart and soul. I mean, you don't have to wear the C to be, you know, deem the heart and soul. He he talks about how the team runs on emotion and energy and how they feed off that. And I I think he is the kind of player, the kind he kind of is like a captain. He's an assistant captain, but he is the kind of player that will just go out and make a play, play unbelievable on a shift or two-shift to inspire his teammates to play harder. They're like, hey, look at Tux doing. You know, I I um could be do I could be doing a little bit more like him. He'll he'll lead by example.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I think that's I think uh definitely he is the most important player on the Sabres right now. Okay, go ahead. Number three.

SPEAKER_03

The Bills should trade the first round pick for Putin for a proven produce veteran. Definitely, definitely not.

SPEAKER_01

Um since you know I'd love to answer this question right now. Um definitely, yeah. You know, just like how the um how the uh the Broncos, what are you doing? Um, you know how um who's the who's the head coach of the Denver Broncos?

SPEAKER_03

Sean Baton.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. He was saying how they traded away their first round pick for Jalen Waddle.

SPEAKER_03

In a third.

SPEAKER_01

And they were looking at who they could draft with those picks, and they said it could no matter who we got, it can never be better than Jalen Waddell. And they they or or the player or players would not have improved our team as much as as Jalen Waddle would. So that's why they came to that decision. And that's not a bad decision. I mean, I would I mean Jalen Waddle is he's gonna be great for Denver, and he's a great player. So um, should they trade the first round pick for a proven veteran? Definitely.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Um, definitely, definitely not. The master of this tooth track now should allow patrons to have phones, definitely, or definitely not.

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna say definitely not. You know, phones are everywhere, and it'd be awesome to go there. I've never been there, and be in a uh cell phone-free zone where everyone's not on their phones and yeah, everyone's paying attention and looking.

SPEAKER_03

It's masonly, masonly not. But um, the biggest role I come to Masters is that one's not really, definitely not.

SPEAKER_01

Just uh I think I I stuck I think I was about to finish that sentence and I got sidetracked and I didn't finish the sentence.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, I'll make it for you. Well, I'll do it, I'll do it.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, go ahead.

SPEAKER_03

Does DJ Moore make a big difference and make big big enough difference that's worth second round pick? Definitely, definitely not.

SPEAKER_01

In other words, does he um does he prove his second round, you know?

SPEAKER_03

Okay, let me restate that.

SPEAKER_01

Does he prove that he's a second round worthy of a second round pick?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so I and yeah, so it so at the end of the season, we could look at that in both ways. It uh based on one season. We could say that, yeah, oh yeah, that was easily um worth giving up a second round pick. Or we might say, no, that I think we could have gotten, you know, this guy, whoever. Do you know what do you know what pick it was? Um it was what number? So yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna go with the DJ Moore. I'm gonna say definitely he will be worth that. It's a steep price. Don't get me wrong, it's a very steep price.

SPEAKER_03

They have 60.

SPEAKER_01

It was 60. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

60 or 57, I actually really don't know.

SPEAKER_01

About the middle of the second half of the second round, a little past the middle. So, yeah, I mean, um I've I've been skeptical. I I I like DJ Moore move. Um, it was just a lot to give up when it was first gonna be a third, and then it became a second. But um, you know, I'm rolling with it. I'm rolling with our guys. Um, the decision they made, it's it's Joe Brady. Apparently, Brandon Bean says that you know he was handcuffed by McDermott. Do you have you heard? You know, he's he hasn't just said that once, he said that multiple times. And um he's got no excuses now. I don't know, I don't think he had an excuse before, quite frankly. Let's see how you could blame your head coach if you're the general manager, and if you're the one that's not holding the cards, then that's the general manager's fault. You don't blame your um, you know, I don't know what a head coach is and a general manager's boss. Um they have different roles. I so I don't know how you I don't know. I I don't know the dynamics there, but um, I don't think it's very cool to blame the head coach for your missteps. And then having the owner step in and say, you know, talking about the whole Keyn Coleman thing, but but uh I actually want to come in here.

SPEAKER_03

I actually didn't know this, but there's some uh what's that news? Actually good news, really good news about Kahil Shakir. He apparently uh being put down by assisting Nichols.

SPEAKER_01

Hold on, can you can you re- I had a pause for a second, can you restart that please?

SPEAKER_03

Um, I received Kahil Shakir helping 19 dogs are at risk from youth new um Tunisia by assisting Nickel City Canine Rescue with transfer for a county animal shelter.

SPEAKER_01

Cool. So what is he what did he do with the dogs?

SPEAKER_03

He just like helped, I guess he helped getting um he he held a large adoption event.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay. Awesome. And then with his name and his organization uh skills or whatever, he held an event and people showed up. That's awesome for him. We like dogs around here. Our dog uh we got two dogs, it just took I won dog silver for a three-mile run today. And she pulls pretty good. I have I have the waistband a belt like a belt and then attached to a bungee type of leash, and then to her collar, and then we run, and she runs. She's a lead dog, she doesn't like giving up the lead at all. Um, so it works out. The only issue is with her with Silver running, is she tries to like bite cars that are driving by.

SPEAKER_03

But um, we're gonna off track here, but um that's it.

SPEAKER_01

We we went through the whole rundown.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. That was a good podcast.

SPEAKER_01

Anything else you want to add? What we got the Sabres in Columbus today. Yep. Looking forward to that.

SPEAKER_03

Um the odds of us winning percentage.

SPEAKER_01

Sure, what are they?

SPEAKER_03

You want to guess?

SPEAKER_01

Winning the game or what winning of the game. Is it a percentage out of a hundred?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, percentage.

SPEAKER_01

Uh I'm gonna say. Um, I like this. I like this guess here. I'm gonna say against Columbus, we're we're the better team, but they might be more desperate, but we're the better team, so I'm gonna say 67%.

SPEAKER_03

48 Oh, okay. You wanted the odds of us the percentage, it's all from Kelchie. Percentage of the city. It's all from Kelchy? Okay. Yeah, open markets.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, open markets.

SPEAKER_03

Percentage of um changing sabers winning the Stanley Cup.

SPEAKER_01

From Kelshi?

SPEAKER_03

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

I'm going to so what is it a percentage?

SPEAKER_03

Percentage. It's all percentage.

SPEAKER_01

Uh out of a hundred, um, winning the Stanley Cup, 23. Okay. So how much money could you win if you what what are the odds on that?

SPEAKER_03

Uh if you bet $1, you win $17.

SPEAKER_01

17 to 1.

SPEAKER_03

If you bet $10, $157, $160.

SPEAKER_01

How's your pickleball going?

SPEAKER_03

What?

SPEAKER_01

How's your pickleball going?

SPEAKER_03

No. What's what's in the podcast right here?

SPEAKER_01

What's that?

SPEAKER_03

What's in the podcast? What's in the podcast?

SPEAKER_01

Let's end it. Oh, let's end it. Alright. Um, do you have the outro music?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I'll see you guys all next time, next week.

SPEAKER_01

Hit it. Episode seventeen in the book.
