Praise the Lord. God bless you and welcome to this special edition of Family of Faith. Pastor David Flores is here, looking forward to these next few moments to share the word and share the thoughts that God has been dropping into my spirit over the last 30, 45 days. A lot of things have gone on in our world, so much confusion, so much upheaval. A lot of great things have happened. Maybe there was a birth of a child in your family experience, or maybe as in my family, there was a miracle healing happening in one of my grandchildren. But I want you to know this that God is very aware of what's going on in your life. And because of who he is, omnipresent, he's right there with you. And so if you're a believer tonight, I want you to get a hold of what I'm going to talk about. I'm going to talk about victory is a mindset. And I want you to understand this today. God has already seen your tomorrows. He knows what's up ahead, and he's planned and prepared for your victory in your life. Let's pray. Father, we give you glory and praise, and we thank you for this time together. May the word of God, Lord, be delivered accurately and clearly, and may the hearers today have ears to hear, eyes to see, and a heart to receive what God has for them today. In Jesus' name. Amen. Victory is a mindset. We talk about that. It's talked about all over the world and different uh things of life. The certain mindset you need to have. And as a Christian, as a believer, I grew up back in the 60s and 70s, and I grew up in church and always heard a lot of phrases and different things going on. And one of the things I heard about was a defeated Christian. I remember hearing sermons on defeated Christians, how not to be a defeated Christian, or how to get out of that rut. But I want you to understand this today. The truth of the matter is this because of Jesus Christ, what he's done on the cross, what he did in the grave, and being raised from the dead, he conquered every enemy of our lives. And the Bible says he's given us the victory. I want to look at a couple scriptures there in 1 Corinthians chapter 15, because this is the mindset we need to have. My question to you today is this can knowing in advance that you have the victory in the battle impact or make a difference in your walk every day? If you know in advance, and if you know in advance that the victory in the battle is already yours, what kind of impact is that going to make in how you walk in your daily life, how you look at things around you, how you respond to the situations in front of you, how you evaluate what's really going on around you in your life, in this world, whatever you are dealing with today. So let's go in our Bibles of 1 Corinthians chapter 15. And I go there because this is the ultimate chapter of victory. In 1 Corinthians 15, the Apostle Paul he talks about from the very beginning, he talks about the birth of Adam, Adam being the first Adam, he talks about Jesus being the second Adam. He talks about Adam being born of the flesh, a fleshly man, a natural man, but he talked about Jesus being a spiritual man. And so when we talk, start talking about the end of days and the ultimate thing that Jesus did while he was on this earth, he defeated Satan, he defeated hell and the grave, he defeated sin. And his victory was not for his own self. He didn't need to win for his own sake. He needed to win, he needed to go through this for our sake. Everything he did was for our sake. So as we begin to read in 1 Corinthians chapter 15, I'll read some scriptures here in the new in the King James Bible. All right. If you've got one, go ahead and turn there, and we'll read some things here. I'm going to start reading at verse 29. Else, what shall they do? All right. Let me skip that one. That's not the one I want. Okay. Let me come on back here. Reaching down in my Bible here. So it says in 1 Corinthians chapter 15, all the way towards the end. Okay. I'm going to start reading here at verse 42. It says, So also is the resurrection of the dead. So it's going to talk about what he uh referred to earlier, about natural things being sown into the earth and being raised up, glorious things. And he says, the resurrection of the dead is that, but sown in corruption, but it's raised in incorruption. And then he goes on to say, it's sown in dishonor. So when we die, this earthly body goes into the earth. It's literally sown into the earth in corruption. But when it's raised again, it's raised in incorruption. It's sown in dishonor, but it's raised in glory. It's sown in weakness. You know, every time someone passes away, we talk about the moment of weakness in their lives and their existence in their heart or their organs giving out. And when this body fails, we no longer have a place to abide here on this earth. It says it's sown in weakness, but it's raised in power. It's sown a natural body, but it's raised a spiritual body. There's a natural body and there's a spiritual body. And then he goes on to say, It is written, the first man Adam, was a living soul, but the last Adam was made a quickening or life-giving spirit. So Adam was made a living soul when Jesus, when God the Father breathed into his nostrils the spirit of life. And so he was not just a natural man, but he was a spiritual man, a man of glory. The first man, the Bible says here in verse 47, is of the earth, he's earthy. And the second man is of the Lord, he's from heaven. See, we came from this earth, and as it says in scripture, dust to dust, ashes to ashes. But Jesus, he was of the Lord from heaven. And so we see his walk in this day and age and his walk to the cross. And here we're in the season of Easter coming up ahead, and we'll be talking about those things. But see, there was a great mystery that was happening here, a great thing that was not revealed. Human beings on the day didn't reveal it, it wasn't revealed to the devil himself. Didn't know what was going on. Jesus came to this earth with a divine assignment. He was going to live here in the form as a man in a human body of a man, but he was all divine. Yet he left his deity powers behind to live like you and me, but he came here as an anointed man. Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he's anointed me. Luke chapter 4, verse 18, one of my favorite scriptures. And so he lived and gave an example of us how to live as an anointed human being on the earth. And so his life was so powerful, yet it was not without tragedy. It was not without battles and persecutions and opposition. So you can't say his life was different from ours in that sense. He faced everything that we face today. And that's why I want to encourage you with this. We want to get the mindset of Jesus Christ. We want to get the mindset, and he says, Let this mind be in you in Philippians chapter 2. We want to get that mind, that attitude that he had. And so I read start hearing in verse 54, and it says, So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this uh mortal shall have put on immortality. In other words, at the end of all days, when we pass away, we're going to be raised again together with Christ. This mortal will have put on, uh will be put on immortality. Since so shall be brought to pass the same that it is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. Death is swallowed up in victory. So he's talking about the future, but he's also talking about the present victory that Jesus Christ has already attained because the apostle Paul's writing here post-crucifixion, post-resurrection. So there's a victory to be had. And so that victory was death being swallowed up by the obedience of Christ, by the faithfulness of Jesus, by the power of God, the mercy and the love of God swallowed up death in the form of the victory. And he goes on to say, the sting of death is sin. The sting of death, the pain of death is sin. And that's what happened in the garden when God said to Adam and Eve, Don't eat of this tree. If you do, you will surely die. That's because of the sin they committed, death entered into their life. So the sting of sin or death of death is sin. But then it goes on to say that the strength of sin was the law. But verse 52 says, Thanks be unto God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Thanks be to God, because you can say, Where is your victory? Where is your sting? Jesus Christ took the sting and the pain and swallowed up death in his victorious faithfulness to the plan of God the Father. That victory he gave to us. Says here, be thanks unto God who gives us the victory. He didn't need a victory. He was a victorious being and when he came here. He's a victorious being when he ascended back to heaven. But that victory was for you and me so that we could live with the victorious power of Jesus Christ in our lives right now. Now, if you knew this and you applied it to your everyday life, you got a tough day ahead, you've got questionable things that are happening, you've got things that are are, it doesn't appear how it's going to work out. How what's the outcome gonna be? But no matter what the outcome is gonna be, no matter how it works out, you and I as Christians, as believers in Christ, we will walk in victory. You will come out victorious. We say, well, Pastor, what if it doesn't happen like I wanted it to? What if the outcome is without what I've been praying for? Well, am I here to tell you, what if God is working in that outcome? What if God is positioning you in that outcome? See, we look at things so simplistic so many times, we don't see the underlying thing. And you can, if you're true with yourself, you'll realize there was times you wanted this certain thing to happen and it didn't, and you felt defeated, and the devil piled on you and said, You're defeated, you're a loser, didn't work out like you thought. Now what are you gonna do? But the truth of the matter is because God is in you and God is with you, and you didn't quit. Hear me, that's the key word. You didn't quit. You didn't give up on God, you didn't give up on your faith in God, you didn't give up on the faithfulness of God, you didn't quit on yourself. You got up the next day and you kept going, you kept moving forward. That's a victorious attitude right there. You may get knocked down, as they say. You can get knocked down, but get up. Knocked down once, get up again. Get knocked down seven times, get knocked, rise up eight times. I mean, however that saying goes. But the truth is you're getting up. And because you're getting up, that's a victory in itself over the devil. Because he would like to keep you down for all times. He would like to give get you to that place where you give up your hopes and your dreams and just accept defeat. See, as a believer, we never accept defeat. We realize things may not have come out the way we wanted to, but that's not a defeat in God's book or our book. No, no, no. Even when we pass from this earth, people will say, Oh, he lost the battle with some certain disease. No, he didn't lose the battle with the disease. Because he kept his faith in God. God received him into heaven. He kept the faith. He now has eternal life and experiencing it, what began when he received Christ now is a reality and the fulfillment of his salvation is right there. There is no defeat for the Christian, there's only victory because of Christ. Now, so he goes on to say that after we realize that God has given us the victory through Jesus Christ our Lord, he goes therefore to say, then, beloved, be ye steadfast. In other words, dig in, man. Make your stand in your faith in God. No matter what happens, no matter what the weapon is the enemy uses. Make your stand in God and be steadfast in your love for God. Be steadfast in your faithfulness to God. So people talk about it, does God love me? There's no doubt about it. God loves you, God loves me. People talk about, well, does God faithful to me? There's no doubt about it. God's faithful to me, God's faithful to you. He's never failed, he's never lost a battle. We sing a song, He's Never Failed Me Yet. We sing a song, He's Never Failed, He's not about to start now. But the real question is, do you love God? Are you gonna stick with God to the very end, to your last breath? Are you gonna be faithful to Him in your giving of yourself, surrendering of life to Christ, coming to covenant with Him, becoming one with God through salvation? Are you gonna keep that? Or are you at some point just gonna turn away and turn back and let go of it? And many people have, sadly, many people have, because that's all the enemy can do. If he can force you and pressure you to quit and to give up and let go of what God's given you, he wins, and that therefore that is the final defeat. But if you can keep the faith, so be steadfast, be unmovable. I don't care what happens in our lives, and they come hard, they've come hard in my life, and I've been shaken and I've been knocked down, but I've gotten up. Maybe you have too, and you understand this this reality of life. He says, be unmovable, unmovable, but always abounding in the work of the Lord, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for you know that your labor is not in vain. You know that what you do for God is not going to be fruitless, but it's gonna be fruitful in your life. It's gonna pay off in the end. It always does. God always keeps his promises. God will always pay off on your behalf according to his word. If he said he'll never leave you nor forsake you, take it to the bank. He won't. If he said I'll be there for you, he will. Have this confidence and make a decision to change your mindset. I come from a place of victory. I'm not looking for victory, I'm walking in victory. I'm not trying to get victory, I have the victory through Jesus Christ my Lord. So no matter what the enemy does, he's already defeated. And we, according to the word of God in Romans chapter 8, we are victorious. We're more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ our Lord. I pray this has blessed you. I pray this has encouraged you. I pray it helps you to stay the course, to stay focused, renew your mind to God's word, adjust your mindset to the truth that you are victorious in Christ Jesus. And let's be thankful. Let's be wonderfully happy about what God has done. Because when we give thanks unto God, He always causes us to triumph through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let's pray. Father, we give you glory and praise, and we thank you for the word. We thank you for the grace. We thank you for the love and the mercy that you've given to us. In Jesus' name, we ask you right now to just fill the place where my brother or sister are at. Let the word of God just come alive to them. Show them where you're walking every step with them.
