Closing Encouragement
Victory is not something you’re waiting on.
Because of Jesus, it’s something you already carry.
Praise the Lord. God bless you. And welcome to the special edition of Family of Faith. I'm glad that you're with us today because God's going to continue speaking on the issue, and the hot topic of victory is a mindset. I want you to understand this today that as we go into the Word of God and the things that the Lord has put on my heart, that God already has your victory in mind. And so don't be worried about how things are going to work out. God is going to work things out on your behalf for His honor and for His glory. And you know that's going to be good. So do us a favor, click the like button, the share button, and become a subscriber as well. And if there's anything you'd like to share with us to help you pray for or whatever, please don't hesitate to send us that through an email or a DM or whatever there on the Messenger. We'd love to be a part of your journey of faith. And so let's get to the word today. And I want to go over to the book of Romans, chapter 8. And as we enter Romans chapter 8, I want to talk about this statement I made last time. What if you knew that the victory was already secured in your life? How would it impact your thought process? How would it impact your view of the things that are happening around you? If you knew the victory was already assured and it was already yours, if the outcome was already secured, how would that change your attitude about things? Attitude is very important. Attitude can determine how long you're going to endure something. Attitude can also be a determiner of how you're going to approach the situation in life. Okay? So if your attitude is good, then you can expect some good things to happen. If your attitude is bad or negative, you're looking for the wrong things. People once said, you know, if you're going to look for something bad, you're going to probably find it. How about the reverse? If you look for something good, you're probably going to find it. I've seen that the flipping of things over to the positive works just as well as the negative. So if the outcome was already secured, how would that change your attitude? Well, if you had a bad day today, but you know your outcome is already secured, that the victory is already yours, I believe that would inspire you to get up the next day. It's inspired me to keep up and keep going. It's inspired me to look forward to the next challenge. Because days are challenging that we're living in right now. So many distractions in life, so many pressures left and right, not unlike I've ever seen in my lifetime. And I lived through the 60s, the 70s, the 80s, the 90s, the first part of this millennium, and now the second part and second decade and going into the third decade. You know, we have seen so many things happen, but not like we've seen today. We've got to have a right mindset to approach every day. We don't want to be fatalistic. We don't want to be giving up before the days even started. We want to give God a chance to do what God can do in our lives. Because the Bible says in Romans 8, we may read a little bit later, but if God is for us, who can be against us? And God is for his sons and daughters, those who've committed to him, given their life to him. So our attitude needs to be in line with the realities that victory has already been won. Jesus defeated the devil at the cross. He defeated death at the grave, at the tomb, and he defeated sin by the blood that he shed for you and for me. And now he's the Lord of eternal life. He is the King of glory. He's a soon-coming king for you and for me. And that victory was given to us according to the scriptures. He's given us the victory, and he always causes us to triumph. So our attitude should be positive. Our attitude should be hopeful. Our attitude should be, I'm looking for God in my day today. I'm looking for him to intervene. How would your daily walk be impacted if you knew that the victory was already secured? If you knew the victory was already secured, you're going to walk a little more confident. You're going to have a little, you know, a little hop in your steps, so to speak. All right? A little more boldness. How about how would you respond to the opposition when things begin begin to oppose you? How would you respond to that? I believe and I know I have set tested this out in my life. I responded with confidence. I responded not in fear, but I responded in confidence in Christ Jesus, my Lord, and what He's done. See, when you know the victory is already yours. That doesn't mean there's never going to be a fight or a battle. It's coming, it's already here. I'm in the midst of one. You're probably in the midst of one right now. And that's just personal. How about all the mental and emotional things that are going on in our world? I mean, we've got to be a believer in Christ Jesus. We've got to have our hope in God. I don't know how anybody can make it in the days we're living in. So it helps us to respond when there's opposition. It helps us to say, no, I'm not quitting yet. I'm not giving up yet. This ain't over. As the great Yogi Bear said one time, it ain't over till it's over. All right. I mean, we've got to be have that kind of attitude. I think about the Chicago Cubs, you know, for years, their great statement was wait till next year. And then they got that title. They won the World Series. Wow. Other teams that quote unquote had curses on them. They broke those curses. My beloved Dodgers, 30 years it took for them to get back to a series, and they finally got back. Hey, anything can happen in life. We've seen it out here in the natural things. And what God has done in the spiritual realm for you and for me is a foundation we need to stand on. So it helps our response to opposition and it helps us have peace in a time of uncertainty. Because even though things don't look the way they should look in our lives, how we thought they would look, how we anticipated they would be, if we know in our hearts, in our mindset, our attitude is victory, let's just keep going. Let's see what God's going to do. Let's just see how God's going to bring us through this. Let's just see how God's going to manifest his grace, his mercy, and his power. Because if we allow that to happen, God's going to get all the glory and all the praise. It's not about you and I persevering, you and I being, you know, having some supernatural strength and we made it through. Or ta-da, I got an idea. No, it's about God bringing you through. God's strength, God's grace, God's love, God's power, all working on your behalf. And so that's how we can have peace. Now, I want to go to Romans chapter 8. Romans chapter 8, we read some powerful things that the Apostle Paul talks about. He literally talks about the attitude that the world has towards you and to me. And I'll give you that scripture here in a second here. But what it says here that God, through Jesus Christ our Lord, it says here in this verse, it says that God didn't spare anything when he gave us his son. Wouldn't he also give us everything else? Everything else you might need in life? Who dares accuse us to whom God has chosen for his own? The question, as the Apostle Paul writes here, who dares accuse us? It's not God. God doesn't accuse us. No one, for God Himself has given us right standing with Himself. This is the new living translation. Who then will condemn us? No one. See, all these other people have maybe condemned you. Others have accused you. The devil's condemned. The devil tries to accuse. But God literally says, no one, because in God's eyes, the devil is a nothing. He's a no one. He's a zero. He don't count. He's defeated. He was kicked out of heaven. Then he was defeated at the cross through Jesus Christ our Lord. And so who will condemn us? No one. For Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us. And he is sitting at the right place of honor at God's right hand, pleading for us. See, every answer here tells us why we should have a mindset of victory. A mindset of victory. Who's accusing us? Not God. Let's have victory. Who's trying to condemn us? Not God. Jesus Christ paid the price for us. His blood was shed for our sins. And because that he is now at the right hand interceding for us. He goes on to say, can anything separate us from Christ's love? Anything? No. Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble? I love this version of Romans chapter 8, the New Living. Says, does it mean God doesn't love us if we have trouble? No. If we have trouble or we have calamity, or if we're persecuted, does that mean God doesn't love us? No. Or if we're hungry, does that mean God doesn't love us? No. Or if we're destitute or we're in danger, does that mean God doesn't love us or threatened with death? Does that mean God doesn't love us? Absolutely not. And if you have been alive for a second, the devil has thrown these false accusations against you. God doesn't love you. If he loved you, why would you be going through this? If he loved you, why didn't he take care of that? If he loved you, if he loved you, if he loved you. He said those same things to Christ out in the wilderness, testing Jesus, and Jesus defeated him with its written. We can defeat the devil with its written here as well. It's written, it is written that God loves us with an everlasting love. Who shall condemn? Not God. He sent Jesus to this earth to die on the cross, defeated the enemy, now sits at the right hand of the Father. You've got to have this victory mindset when you're facing life and opposition. He goes on to say, Who is going to separate us? Nothing. What can separate us? Nothing. Either the danger or threatened with death? No. As the scriptures say, for your sake we're killed every day. Now, this is a quote from the Old Testament, and this was an attitude and a perspective that other people had about the people of God. They think you're like going forward to get killed every day. You're like sheep going to the slaughter. Oh, you're trusting Jesus. Oh, you're one of those Christians. Oh, you believe in God. You know, it's just not going to work. He never, he never comes through for you. He didn't come through for me. People project their life on you, and that's not ever should happen. Each of us have an individual relationship with God. Either it's a good and righteous relationship or it's not. You can't have what both. He goes on to say, no, in spite of all the things that are coming against us, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ who loved us. In other words, the King James says, No to all these things. We are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus who loved us. Overwhelming victory is ours, no matter what is going on. And despite all these things. So you're in some things that are going on in your life. There's trouble, there's persecution, there's pressure. Don't worry about it. Don't fear. Use your faith, use your trust, use your knowledge of God's word, your knowledge of who God is in your life and who he says he is in the word, and rest in who he is. And don't allow those things to cloud your thinking or change your mindset. Victory is your mindset. We have overwhelming victory through Jesus Christ our Lord. So the Apostle Paul, who had a great life, but was it an easy life? No. Read about the book of Acts. Read about in the in his letters to the Corinthians. He talks about what he went through. Was it an easy life? No. Was it a uh did he have troubles? Yes, he had troubles on every side. Did he have people who hated him? Yes, yet people hated him. The Bible says that they actually stoned him to death, left him for dead on the road. He was raised up from the dead. He was beaten several times. Yet he knew that God loved him. He knew that God loved him. So you have to get to that place that you know that you know that God loves you. And what you're going through does not define God's love for you. What you're going through does not determine God's love for you. God's love for you is identified and defined by himself and what he has said in his word for you, what he did through Jesus Christ our Lord. So he says, I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. So here's a victory mindset. You can never be separated from the love of God. And knowing that God loves you, that's a powerful victory in your life. Especially if you've gone through life feeling alone, feeling abandoned, feeling rejected. Nobody loves me. Nobody understands. If you've experienced those things in your life, knowing this truth, that God loves you, and no matter what's in your life, nothing can separate you. He goes on to list some things. He says, death can't separate you. Life can't separate you. What? You mean if I leave this earth, I die, that's not going to set him down. If you're a believer, you're right in his presence. You're right in his ushering you into the joy of the Lord. And in this life, if this life is not, quote unquote, you know, the best life, it's a tough life, it's a difficult life. It's been a life of pain and suffering. That doesn't separate you from the love of God. God still loves you. He says, angels, supernatural beings can't separate you. Demons can't separate you. Neither our fears for today or our worries about tomorrow can separate us from the love of God. Not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love. No power in the sky above or the earth below. Indeed, nothing in all of creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Let's redefine victory here for a moment. Victory is not, you know, used to be say the guy gets the girl, gets the car, gets the house, gets the kids, gets the big bank account. Man, that's victory. That may be unquote unquote the American dream, you know. But the Bible says this is reality. We know that's not true in this earth. That's not true in everybody's life. Praise God if things are going well for you. I'm not jealous. I rejoice with you, as it says in 1 Corinthians 13. I rejoice with those who rejoice. But what about those who are not rejoicing? Well, I cry with them who are crying because we're all in this together in the love of God here. The ultimate victory is knowing that God loves you and demonstrated through Jesus Christ our Lord. And because of what Jesus did on the cross, nothing can separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. That's victory over life, victory over death, victory over sin, victory over the difficulties of this life. That's an ultimate victory for you and me. I want to encourage you. This mindset that Jesus had, this mindset that the Apostle Paul had, Peter had, James, John had. They all had this mindset, even to their very last moment, they had this mindset that they already had the victory. They put their trust in God, their faith was in the Lord and what he did at the cross. So today, let's pray for you. Father, I pray right now that each one at the sound of my voice, Lord, in the mighty name of Jesus, that they would realize today that no matter what is happening in their life, it doesn't define victory or defeat. Victory comes from Jesus and what he did on the cross. Victory comes from knowing that God's love has been given to us and he loves us with an everlasting love, and nothing can separate us from that love. There can be no separation because of God's love for us. He loved us first so that we would love him. And so, Father, we just pray that this truth, this reality, would be so strong and be a foundation for each person to live their daily life and not to look at what's going on in their life, but look to heaven, look to what God has done, because even in the difficult things, Lord, you can be glorified in our lives. You receive glory. We can be an inspiration to somebody, we can encourage somebody, we can help somebody come to you even in the midst of our difficulties, because God's love is never going to be taken from us. In Jesus' name. Amen. God bless you. Thank you for joining us. We appreciate that. Please send us your prayer requests or your praise reports.
