Praise God. Get your Bibles together, your electronic device, whatever it might be. If you've got the Bible written in your tables of your heart, praise God. Just pull it on up. And uh we're gonna go to the epistle of Galatians. And as I've been praying about what the Lord would want me to go into, and we're gonna do a basically a verse by verse or paragraph by paragraph uh of the book of Galatians. The book of Galatians written at a time in about the 40th or 50th uh century there, and the Apostle Paul writing to Turkey, the churches in Turkey, so he's not writing to a specific city, but he's writing to a whole region. And he's writing because some things have come up and he's addressing them right off the bat, and that is there's preachers and religious people going around and trying to subvert what Paul has done by the Spirit in ministering to those saints in Galatia and trying to disrupt, trying to corrupt, trying to do different things. And you're gonna recognize some things that are happening in our day today as well. And I believe the Holy Spirit's gonna show you that for yourself. But it's it's an encouraging book, an encouraging letter, and uh there's some powerful scriptures here. You might have a favorite verse from Galatians, you know. Uh I like the one on uh in in Galatians, I believe it's 320, 310, you know, he who hung on that cross. We are redeemed from the curse of the law because cursed is he who hung on that cross, that the promise of Abraham might be what given to us. And so uh there's some scriptures there, it's also the fruit of the spirit in chapter 5. So as you read through it, we're gonna go through it, and we we're not gonna try to skip anything, but we're gonna bunch together and give it the context and give it the understanding because this is what the apostle Paul was doing to mentor and to disciple those saints at the time. It was a critical time, there was uh spiritual things happening, and uh just like in our day, there was political things happening, and so we're gonna address that as we look at the word of God tonight. All right, so Galatians chapter one, we're gonna start reading here. I'm gonna read from uh I've got a couple of different translations, but I'm gonna read the New King James Version, and um and then we'll see where we go. I plan to go maybe in about verse 7 or so today, and so here we are. It says, Paul, an apostle, not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised him up from the dead, and all the brethren who are with me to the churches of Galatia, grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of God, our God and Father, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. So we're going to stop here at this one section here, his greetings to the churches, to the believers in Galatia. And first of all, he starts with identifying who he is and really uh affirming that he's an apostle. He's a called-out one, a sent-out one, an anointed man of God. And he says here, not because of men, not through men, not by men, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father. He attributes who he is and what he's doing because he had revelation, he had encounters with God the Father and through Jesus Christ's divine revelations who raised him from the dead. And he says, and all the brethren who are with me here, where he was writing this from, they greet everybody there in the churches. So he wants to make sure because there was an uproar about who he was, people didn't like the new kid on the block, people didn't like that he wasn't part of the 12, you know, and so they had all this uh stuff in their minds. And and when you have things uproaring like that, questions, everybody say questions. It's good to have questions, all right? Questions that lead you to answers that will increase your life and help you to go forward, that's good. But questions that that lead you to confusion, questions that lead you to uh doubt or unbelief, questions that lead you to question yourself and what you believe, questions that lead you to be troubled. I would say troubled. We're gonna get to that part here because this is what was happening. There was an uprising of different religious leaders because, hey, this was the new church in the area, okay? They were coming as Christ's followers, they were teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. They were teaching, as the apostle Paul wrote many different times. And I believe and I know that Christ was the Son of God and He was crucified and He rose from the dead on the third day. That was His gospel, that was His message, and He was preaching that. And so there were those of that day, just like there's people in our day, don't think that this day is any different than that day. The spiritual uh attacks, the the demonic, oh I'll be I'll just be playing, the demonic attacks, okay? Because God's not using people to uh subvert and to disrupt and corrupt and to pervert and all this stuff. No, that's the devil. That's the devil. That's the any any parents in here you would know your parents or even a friend or brother, siblings, you know, you share love, you share truth with one another, your family and close by. And you're not out there to make them you feel dumb. You're not out to make them feel like they've been uh uh hoodwinked and lied to, right? No, you're about to give them truth. You want to give them uh security in that truth, a foundation to trust. Trust you as a as a parent, trust you, as uh as a spouse, trust you, as a as a brother, as a sister, as a friend, okay? This is what God is doing. God is bringing his revelation to get you and I to an understanding who he is so that we may put our trust in him. So everything else that causes doubt and uproar, that's demonic. God does not author confusion. And the apostle Paul addresses that in other of his letters and says, that only comes from one area, not from God. God's not the author of confusion, he's the author of peace. All right. So he comes and he addresses this fact that who he is, his credentials, all right. And he wants to make it known and he's got a team with him that is backing them up, okay? Now, Galatians has been called the Declaration of Independence of Christian liberty because he's going to deal with coming out from the law of the Jewish uh Judaism, all right, into the trusting in the finished work of Jesus Christ on Calvary. He's going to come into a place of being being set at liberty from not just following the rules and regulations, but from being condemned by not being able to follow the rules and the regulations. He'll address that in Romans about no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Because at the time, uh, and just like our day-to-day, there's people that appear religious, as he wrote, there are those that appear and embody this, but they deny the power of God thereof. It's all in their head and it's all a business, it's all a corporation, it's all about control and manipulation. There's nothing to do with the liberty in Christ Jesus. All right. And so he came preaching that. And so this book has been uh declared and been notified and been recognized even by the great Martin Luther as the Declaration of Independence. This book actually, this letter is what's inspired him to begin to move towards the Great Reformation. That was Martin Luther. So this is one of his favorite uh letters that Paul wrote. And so when we think about it, it was a powerful uh and very spiritual, very deep uh ministry that he was going to have in this letter. He was here to set people free from going back into spiritual bondage. Okay? Spiritual bondage is this if I do bad, I must be bad. And if I'm bad, then I'm not going to heaven. And if I'm not going to heaven, what's the point? I'm destined for hell. No hope. That's what religion does. You're bad because you do bad. You do bad because you're bad, and because you're bad and you keep doing bad, you're gonna get what bad gets. There's no hope for you. But if you happen to follow these ten rules, or actually, you know, there's more than ten commandments. If you read the book of Leviticus and others, there's a lot more rules to follow. I just grew up in Pentecostal church. There's a lot of tons of rules. I learned them all every Sunday. My dad was a great preacher, he never failed to lay them down. Okay, so I knew what they were. My mother taught me, she said the same thing. She grew up, her dad, her grandpa was a great Pentecostal preacher with Amy Semple McPherson in downtown LA. She knew how that goes. But see, those were times of holiness, great revival of the Holy Spirit. It was a time, you know, they had what they called the roaring twenties in the United States of America. It was probably one of the most coming out of prohibition, probably one of the most corrupt times of this country. So much sin running rampant. And here God starts a revival in Los Angeles. And it birthed so many denominations today that are still around preaching the gospel. And so God was doing a powerful work there, and people were getting set free, all right? But they were coming into a place where they thought the way they lived their life was their identity and how they proved to you that they were a Christian. Today, it doesn't matter how you dress, how you look, whatever, you know, if you prove you're a Christ follower by how you love. Jesus said, if you love others, you'll show the world you're my disciple. And then I mean by loving, it doesn't mean I don't, I don't I don't approve of your mess, but I love you enough to help you get cleaned up. And I love you enough to say, I'm not gonna turn my back on you, and I'm right here. Here's my number. Call me when you need me, and I'll check up on you. But I can't associate with you, I can't walk with you in this thing, unless the Lord tells me to go sit down with sinners, then I will, you know. But I want you to know I'm right here for you. Put me on speed dial, click my button, I'll be right there, and I'm gonna help you. That's what a follower of Christ does. He's ready. Doesn't matter. My phone rings, I don't look to say sinner, saint, who is calling me? Doesn't matter. Oh, former church member? How long? When's the last time I saw him? 20 years ago? Oh, no, I think I'll click the red button. No, no, no, a believer in Christ loves people. And that's part of our growing up in maturity. We have known the love of God, we have believed in the love of God because we know how he's loved us. And so Jesus taught that law of love. And he said, if you love God, you'll keep his commandments. If you love me, you'll do what I'm telling you to do. And the Father and I, we're gonna come and manifest ourselves to you. This is the gospel of John, because we're gonna show up in your life daily if you love me and you do your very best to keep my commandments. Does that mean we're gonna be perfect? No. John the apostle wrote first John and he said, I'm writing this to you because I know when you sin, you got a way of escape, you got a way to make it right. I'm writing this to you, gospel of 1 John chapter 2. I'm writing to you. No, you've got an advocate, you've got a lawyer who's praying for you, who will stand with you. His name is Christ Jesus. So don't just quit and give up the ship just because you mess up. That's what he was writing in 1 John. And no one knew Jesus more or greater than John, because he walked with him and he was the one that the Bible says Jesus loved him. He says it himself. He's I'm the one he loved the most. And so he knew this law of love. So when the Apostle Paul comes in here, he's been preaching, they're saved, there's churches all over the place in Turkey. And then he goes on to say, in that next part of the of the of the chapter, all right, he goes on to say, Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul's used the word grace the most of any writer in the New Testament. Grace to you. What is grace? What is grace to you? Is it your get-out-of-jail ticket? What's grace to you? Is it avoid doing hard time? What's grace to you? Grace is not only uh God's character in love. See, for there to be grace, there has to be love. And God is love. Never says God is grace, it says God is love. So grace comes out of love. If you love somebody enough and they do you wrong, God may tell you to give them grace. And then it's not easy. Imagine God the Father, Elohim, you know, in the garden telling Adam and Eve, you got one thing to do, just one thing. Don't eat that fruit of that tree. Just one thing. That's all. Have your way, party down, man. This whole place is yours. I made it for you. Just don't do one thing. Of course, human nature says, What? You don't want me to do one thing? Why don't you want me to do one thing? Well, I'm gonna go do that one thing. I'm gonna go look at that one thing, I'm gonna go play with that one thing. Of course, Satan shows up in a serpent form and he tempts Eve because he's hanging around the one thing. I don't know. Me on this other side now would say, What's the one thing, Lord? That okay. Remember, let's draw a circle there. We're not going there, ever going that direction. Amen. Anybody like that? I'm not going there, I'm never gonna go there. Just make it now. That doesn't mean I won't be tempted to go. That doesn't mean I won't be, you know, not only tempted, seduced, tripped up, and find myself there, but in my mind, I'm saying I'm never gonna go there intentionally. Not Adam and Eve. They found themselves right in front of the tree. Have you thought about that? They found themselves right in front of the tree. Okay, so that's something that they would do, but that's God's grace for us because He gave us a free will. He gave us a brain, he gave us a soul, he gave us a free will to choose. Everybody say choose. See, the greatest love is when someone chooses to love. And my wife has their foundation chosen to love. Chosen, that's the greatest love. Not when you're obligated to love, forced marriage to love, got somebody pregnant, so I guess I gotta marry you, love. No, you choose to love, you choose to love. Well, I guess you're the only thing I can marry or I get, so whatever, I'm gonna choose to love you. No, not that time either. Intentional, I choose. That's what God wants from you and me. He wants us to choose him because he's chosen us. He wants us to choose him to love him. That's the greatest love when it comes from your heart, in spite of your circumstances, in spite of everything you choose. So he says, I'm gonna give you grace. I'm I'm speaking grace to you, I'm speaking God's power, God's favor, God's mercy, God's love, God's everything that is. I'm speaking it to you. That's grace. That's grace. I don't deserve it. You don't deserve it, but I'm giving it to you. Grace implies we don't deserve it, but yet he's given it. It's a gift. So humbly receive it. You know, be ready to receive it. Don't get I was, you know, my studies last through the year. I wrote down one of my notes. I never did finish that sermon. The the Christian entitlement, beware. Go back in my notes, it's one of my nuggets God gave me one through one of the months. Christian entitlement, beware. I'm a Christian, I'm entitled to this. Oh, you're not, you're not entitled to anything. Be thankful you make it by the skin of your teeth to heaven, and you escaped hell. Your attitude's wrong, you're looking at everything the wrong way, and you start being entitled, you become a spoiled brat Christian, and then when God doesn't do it for you, you throw a tantrum and you quit and you turn on him. I've seen it down all the way through my years. I've seen, like, because there was a couple of uh uh childhood preachers that grew up being preachers like they're eight, 10 years old, and the world made a big deal about it because they were preaching the gospel at 10 years old. Thousands of people show up at their tent meetings, and then when they get in their 20s and 30s, they turn around and they say, I never believed this. It was wrong. You know, I was just getting rich out of money. And oh, really? Well, you tricked so many people got born again listening to your messages. You know, no, we don't want that entitlement. We want you to know have a relationship with Christ, and that's what he's gonna talk about here. Getting away from the rules. Like someone just said the other day, I heard him say, you know, the church gave us rules that we didn't have the power to keep, to do, to do the do's and don't do the don'ts. But with a relationship with Christ and the power of God's love, amen, you're unable to do your very best for him. And if you happen to fall, amen, there's an advocate, there's a way to come back. Amen. God's not gonna throw you away. Nope, he put too much in you. Think about he invested his son Jesus for you. And if he's gonna just let you slip away because whatever you do, whatever I do, I'm not gonna do it. I'm gonna go after that person. I'm gonna go find him. You know, we've had so many people call us in the middle of the night. Wives call us. My husband left, he's angry, he's out there. I don't know what he's gonna do. Can you can Pastor go find him? Yeah, Pastor goes out in the car and goes find him. Stay out there two or three hours hunting them down in the places that usually guy goes to. You know, but that's what we do. We leave, as my wife was saying the other day, we leave the the 99 to go get the one. That's love. That's how much God loves you and me. So you don't ever think you're entitled. Take everything as grace, mercy that you don't get what you deserve. Amen. And you're blessed of the Lord. A gift, a free gift of God, and have an attitude of gratitude. All right. So he's saying, Grace and peace come to you from God the Father, our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins. That's what Jesus did. He gave himself. God gave him for us, and he gave himself that he might deliver us from this present age. So I want to emphasize this portion right here: deliver us from the present evil age. So there was an evil age going on there. But as Christ has has uh prayed, as I was teaching the other day on John 17, he prayed, Father, I don't pray that you take them out of this world, but that you keep them from this world. Protect them. So this doesn't imply he's gonna deliver you from all this mess. No, this implies he's gonna deliver you from the power of this mess. So, yeah, we can still be Christians in 2026 here, no matter what's going on in the holy state of California, as my dear friend Terry Mice said last night. Yep, I'd love to come to the holy state of California. I said, Praise God. He's a world missionary, and he knows. I said, Yeah, you're right, Brother Terry. This is a holy state. Amen. This is revival state, this is holy ghost state. That's what we got to remind ourselves. And so God says, I he's saying that God would deliver us from the present evil, the power and the influence of this evil age that we're living in. And it's all around us, okay? It's everywhere we look. So, according, and this is the will of God, according to the will of God, the Father, to whom be glory forever and ever. So it's the will of God that we be delivered from the power of the enemy. All right, the power of this culture, the power of the world system, amen. We be delivered of, not taken out of here, but in the midst of this, we're free from it. It's gonna do what it's gonna do, but we're gonna not live influenced by it. We're not gonna make decisions based on it. We're gonna make decisions based on God, his word, his love, his truth, our faith in the Lord, amen. Leading what being led by the Holy Spirit. That's another key in Galatians. You're gonna talk about being led by the Spirit, walking in the Spirit. So it's an important book for our day, I believe, because we are surrounded by this present evil age. Okay, we're surrounded by it, but we're being delivered daily. Say, I'm being delivered every day from the power of this age.

From the power of this age.

That's right. Every day, amen. Every day. How many times you go by places you shouldn't go into? Amen. You just drive right by. Sometimes you never look, sometimes you look, but you just drive by. Amen. I'm not talking about a Krispy Kreme. I'm talking about, you know, what kind of places? You just drive right by. I'm not going in. When Krispy Kreams came to La Java, the first one in California, celebrities, movie stars showed up in La Haba, middle of the night, getting hot Krispy Kreme donuts. But you know the key is you gotta come when the light is blinking. Hot now, hot now. Hey, it was packed out. And I don't know what they did. I guess Californians got fed up with all the calories and the sugar and closed down. Like, guess what? You had a revival, it came back. It's right there in La Harbor, same street, just the end of the block. Came back. All right. But you know, you know what I'm talking about. You just you're you're delivered, and you had you don't think about it, but I was I'm delivered from that. I don't have to turn in there. I'm delivered from that. I don't have to get mad at that. I'm delivered from that. I don't have to get sad about that. I'm delivered from this present evil age that's trying to bombard me constantly, okay? And so this is God's will for you and for me. So it's his will that we're here today, it's his will that we live at this present year, this time period in history. All right. I mean, if so many things are going on, I thought I don't even watch the news. And even if I start scrolling, I go, oh, that's enough of that. I mean, I can't take all this craziness. And then I don't even know if that's the real guy talking. Is it A, I may made up? And I thought about the other day. I remember the one of the first holograms that showed up, you know, back this is what, 20 years ago? A hologram at a concert, you know, I think it was Elvis, and then that they had Frank Sinatra, and then they had Tupac, you know, show up in a hologram. I go, now they got the guy himself, his lips are moving, and maybe it's his voice and he's talking. No, they never said that. So you can't even trust everything. So remember, you you trust everything. If it's on the internet, it's gotta be true. If it's on Facebook, it gotta be true. If it's on Instagram, it's gotta be true. Now, if it's on the real, it gotta be true. Be careful. I saw one the other day it said these three people died. So I Googled it. Nope, they're still alive, still alive. Okay, but they died because they took some kind of drug to lose weight, you know. Sure, okay, right, whatever. So, so we're delivered from this present evil age, and it's God's will, and every day we're being delivered. We don't think about it, and so at the end of your day, say, Thank God I was delivered from this present evil age. I drove by it, they came at me, they knocked on my door, they whatever. Praise God, all right. So that's what we need to understand the time we're living in. Now he goes in the next part, verse six. He says, I marvel. This is the New King James. One of the passion says, I'm shocked, I'm amazed. Another one says, that you are turning away so soon from him who called you in the grace of Christ. Christ. You're turning away. Now, one commentary said it wasn't shocked that they were turning away, but he was shocked at how soon they were turning away. Because Apostle Paul believed that the gospel that he preached and the foundation that he laid in his own life and before them was a solid foundation that it would take some time for the devil to whittle them down when they would finally say, you know, I'm turning off of this. And so he says, I'm shocked. I'm amazed. I marveled that you're turning away so soon from him, from God, from Jesus, who called you in the grace of Christ to a different gospel. Notice it says different gospel, all right? From a different gospel. The passion says from a distorted gospel. Other versions say another gospel. Okay. And he says, but he goes on to say here in New King James, it's not another gospel, it's a different gospel. Because the word another would mean it can line up with it and ride the same way with it. Not another one, it's different. It's a different gospel. And I'm gonna not gonna go into much depth on defining that, but I'm gonna give you some clues on how to know some things. But there are here it is. Here's the clue to how do you know it's a different gospel. But there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. So it's a different gospel. What's the true gospel? Jesus, the Son of God, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for the sins of the world, and was raised again on the third day, and he's coming back again. That's the gospel of Jesus Christ. That's the good news, right? That's the good news. So he said, but the a different gospel comes to subvert that, to corrupt it, to cause confusion. And he says here, what does it result in? Some people are troubling you. You get troubled. Last night I was in that meeting, and uh Pastor Nancy talked about the word trouble. Troubled so many different times, I think. I said, Okay, Lord, I'm gonna, I'm this is where I'm supposed to be at. I'm supposed to be in Galatians. He keeps talking about trouble, keeps talking about the spirit. Trouble, because when you're troubled in your mind, just like you're at the target, you know you're going for milk, you know you're going for some napkins and some paper plates, and then you end up in the wrong section. You know what I'm talking about? You're in the wrong section, and now you wanna you're tempted to buy this and get this, and now you start getting troubled. I had no trouble getting the milk, the butter, and the paper plates. So as I went in this section, I started getting troubled in my mind. Starting getting troubled. What's that? Anxious, a little fearful, well, I wonder if this will be okay. I'm gonna call Doris. No, if I call Doris, you might say, No, no, I don't know. Should I get it? Well, you know, you know, one day, well, you know, I don't, she'll like it. You know, you know, you start getting troubled. Troubled, everybody say troubled. It's not God's will, you get troubled in your mind, troubled in your soul. See, but a different gospel will come and start troubling you. I've seen it a long time, I've seen it now. People get troubled because someone said, God's not doing that anymore. Why do you believe that stuff? Oh, start getting troubled in your mind. You weren't troubled in your mind before. You were giving, you were praying, you were confessing, you were believing. You were thanking God when the miracles came in your life, you're thanking God when the promotion, this door was opened, the favor of God. You weren't troubled at all. And then somebody said, Oh, you're one of those Christians? And then my comeback is always, Oh, you're not one of those Christians? Because that's clear, he's defined. Because then if you receive what they're saying, it starts troubling your mind. Everybody say, trouble. God's not the author of trouble, He's not trying to, He don't lead you by trouble. The Holy Ghost will convict you, the Holy Ghost will nudge you and say, You shouldn't be there, you shouldn't do this, you shouldn't do that. He's not troubling you because you're fighting with him. Oh, that's okay, that's all right, you know, no, nobody's gonna care. It'll be okay, all right, whatever. You're not being troubled. You're you're like negotiating. But when there's a troubling spirit of the enemy, because he's now taking the truths that you live by, taking the revelations that you believe and trust in, things that have led you to a relationship with Jesus Christ and to God the Father, and now you're being troubled because of what you believed up until this point. Somebody said, God's not healing anymore. Because it's all you care is about the money, you just want to get rich. That's all you're in here for. All your prayers about yourself. You know, yeah, the old the old prayer was this one. Oh Lord, bless me, bless mom, bless Johnny, bless Susie, us four, and no more. That's a selfish prayer. You're not even praying for your neighbors, you're not even praying for somebody else, you're not even praying for Lord bless us with not only to minister and meet the needs of my family, but help me meet the needs of my two neighbors. Now that's a prayer for more to be a blessing, to help others. Amen. And so they were coming in and saying that Jesus was not the Christ. They were coming in and saying all kinds of things that you guys aren't true believers because you're not true before God, because you're not following the law, you're not doing the rules, you're not doing the regulations. And so it says it was troubling you because the end result they wanted to pervert the gospel of Christ. Pervert the gospel of Christ. It's happening in that day in the years 40 and 50, and it's happening today in 2026. All right, still happening today. Same things are happening. So, you know, we can't say, you know, we're better off than they are. They're we were better. No, but the same demons are still hanging around until they're thrown in the thought, the pit, the bottomless pit. They're the one third that came with Satan Lucifer, they're hanging around here, okay? And so they're looking at they only have one, they're they're very, they can only be single-minded. You can't give them too many assignments, they mess up. So they just do what they do and they keep doing it over and over, okay? It says, but if even we or an angel from heaven preaches any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let them be a curse. He just hit the bottom line and says, you know, I'm not gonna say anything of this, but if they're doing this, let them be a curse. Let just a curse come on them because they're trying to subvert the gospel of Jesus, they're trying to change the message, they're trying to get people to stop believing something. Hello? Stop believing something. See, I'm trying to get you to believe something. I'm trying to get you to believe Jesus is Lord. I'm trying to get you that believe that God has so much grace and mercy that he sent his only begotten son to die on the cross for you and for me. And if you and I would believe on him, we would not perish or spend eternity in hell, but we would have eternal life with him. I'm trying to get you to believe that. But here comes another spirit trying to get you to not believe it. Not believe it. So when people come to tell me stuff like that, I say, too late, baby. It's too late. I've already got healed, I've already had a home that I should have never had. I already had a job that I didn't even look for. Too late. Favor of God has been on my life. God has opened doors for me, God has healed me, God has healed my family, God has healed my parents, God has healed, healed my grandkids, whatever. Too, too, you can't talk me out of what I've experienced and walked in. Cannot, you've been delivered from any addiction, any habit, anything. They're delivered from worry, from fear, from anxiety, delivered from porn, alcoholism, drug addiction, or just uh an entitlement mentality or or a or a victim mentality or a spirit of lack or poverty. You've been delivered from a spirit of infirmity, constantly getting sick, whatever, and you know it. The devil can't take that away from you. But that doesn't mean he's not gonna try. So you believe that? Well, I can't be your friend anymore. Thank you. Thank you. You you you did my job for me. I don't I don't have to cut you off. I mean, come on, it's harsh, but the days are coming. You're just gonna have to let it happen. All right, some people are gonna cut you off if you don't follow them. What is that? No, Jesus went after the one, left the 99. Jesus went to the woman at the well, Jesus went to the tax collector, the little short guy. What's his name? Zacchaeus. Come on, Jesus. Oh, you're eating with the one with the sinners. So Jesus went evangelistically to people that the father led him to lead them to to have faith in God. So he wasn't looking to cast people out, he's looking to bring them in. But there's others around saying, Oh, I gotta cut you off. Because you believe that prosperity stuff, you believe that he you believe that the Holy Spirit talks to people. Whatever. Like, oh, what do you believe? Well, I got a mom three things that I believe. Well, praise God. At least you got three things. I got a million of them that I believe that God's still doing today. Because he has not changed, he's the same. And Jesus said, I represent the Father and He's the same, I'm the same yesterday, today, and forever. So he said, I want, he said, even if we do that, let them be a curse. In verse 9, he says, But as I've said before, so now I'll say again, if anyone preaches another gospel to you that what you have received, let him be accursed. He repeats it again in that verse nine. And verse 10 he says, For do I now persuade men or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ. So you can't serve Christ and be a man pleaser. He says, You can't do it. I've been delivered from being a man pleaser, being politically correct, not hurting anybody's feelings, you know, just keep it all smooth, all right? The Passion Translation says, I'm obviously not trying to flatter you or water down my message to be popular with you, but my supreme passion is to please God. Please God at all costs. For if all I attempt to do is to please people, I would fail to be a true servant of Christ. Now that's powerful. That's his introduction, that's what he's going to be talking about. That's what I lay down the foundation for you. So let me just give you a few points here as we close this out. All right. Again, on that different gospel. That different gospel, it's it's not another. Now, there's more than one way to get to this house, another road, another path. No, it's not another, it's a different, it's different altogether. It's different. It number two, it troubles you. So when you hear it and it comes to you, and people start talking to you, and it troubles you. Lights go on, ears go up. Lord, right now help me to protect my heart and my mind. Amen. For out of it flows the issues of life, and it perverts or corrupts truth and God's love. Okay. So that's what we need to do. The gospel literally means good news. We all know that. And if there's there's no good news in that message, it's not the good news. That's right. There's no good news. Well, you just accept it. You know, God put that cancer on you to teach you something. You must have done something very bad, and you don't have very much lips, you better get your house in order. Thank you for the good news. It may be true, I may have done a lot of bad things, and maybe I feel like I deserve this cancer, and maybe whatever, but God didn't put it on me to teach me anything. That's like me, you know, calling in some gangster and saying, Come in and teach my fifth grade class because they're not behaving right. No, if I gotta deal with them, I'm gonna teach them. That bring out some outside evil to do something, no. All right. So he says if it doesn't know good news in it, then it's not the gospel, it's only bad news. So it isn't in good news, okay? And then I want to give you this the gospel, here's the true how you know it's the true gospel. The gospel offends our pride. When that gospel offends, the true gospel offends your pride, because you why you have to humble yourself to seek the Lord, you have to give up to get to get to get Him. Amen. He says we need a savior. What's the basic common uh sharing with Christ with somebody? Number one Roman wrote. I gotta convince you, you need you are a sinner and you need God. Offends our pride, okay? We can't save ourselves. All right, and then the next thing, the gospel offends our wisdom, it saves us by something many consider foolish. The apostle Paul wrote, the preaching of the gospel is foolish to those who don't believe, but it man, it's a good news. It's happy days are here to those who do believe it and receive it. Okay, so the gospel offends our wisdom. That sounds too easy, Pastor David. You mean that's all I gotta do, and God will receive me, and I can be in the family, and my eternity will be with Christ, and that's all I gotta do. Yeah, Jesus said, repent and believe. He made it really simple, his first message. He came out, he says, I got a word for you. Repent and you believe. Thank you. I'll see you next Sunday. Repent and believe. That's all he preached. So it offends our wisdom, and thirdly, it offends our knowledge. If you don't know it, well, I didn't know that. Well, where did you get this? It offends our knowledge. It tells us to believe something which goes against scientific knowledge or personal experience, that a dead man, Jesus Christ, rose again from the dead in a glorious body would never die again, that would never die again. That offends my knowledge. I'm too smart to believe that. That's how you know it's the gospel. All right. So tonight, as we close out here and pray in a minute here, we we want to just prepare our hearts and minds to receive what God has for us. To know that the gospel that convinced us to give our life to Christ is the true gospel. Amen. The gospel that said this is just the beginning of what God wants to do in your life. Amen. Thank God if if every drug addict who got born again got born again, and their heart changed and their mind changed, but they might have stayed a drug addict till they took their last you know hit, whatever. Thank God, and they made it to heaven. But that's not God's very best. God's will is that we be healed, delivered, and set free, and then be a miracle testimony that I once was blind, but now I see. Look at what the gospel of uh Jesus, the blind man, he said, I got one testimony I once was blind, but now I see. Praise God. This is the gospel that your heart would surround it, embrace it, hold fast to it in the days that we're living in. Amen. And contend for your faith and believe God for greater things that you can impact the people around you. So let's stand up tonight. We're gonna pray. Praise God. Thank you, Jesus. Father, we just thank you tonight for your time, for your Holy Spirit, our teacher. Thank you for the words that have been preserved for us. Thank you for the apostle Paul, who knocked off the horse and told him you've got a call on his life. And he heard your voice and he submitted to your voice. He repented and he got saved by saying, Yes, Lord, Jesus, Lord. And we thank you, Father, for his life and ministry, what he wrote to the saints of that day. And we know that we're in the same hour in history right now. And in the name of Jesus, I pray for every believer here tonight, Lord, that their faith would be fortified, Father, that their sensitivity, their ears would be heightened to know your voice, and none other will they follow. In the name of Jesus, that they will know the gospel truth. And when someone comes to turn them away and it begins to trouble them, they'll know, nope, I gotta cut that off. It's troubling me. When I know that I know that Jesus died on the cross for me. I know that I didn't deserve salvation, but he had mercy, and the grace of God says, I've been saved by grace through faith. And so, Father, we just thank you tonight for every person here. May they be blessed, may they grow in their faith in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen.
