Be curious. Don't be afraid to act. Like there's there's no stupid question. So like question everything. Like I think that people should literally pretend like they're five. Like at like kindergarteners, you know how kids are like, well, mommy, why? But no. But why do we do this? Like use that approach. Keep asking questions. Keep digging, keep keep trying to figure out why things are the way they are. And then after you understand the problem of like everything that's wrong in this fiat world, then move to Bitcoin. Like don't even worry about Bitcoin at first. Just understand like the problem. And I think that that's the best way for anybody that's going to get it.

SPEAKER_00Well, welcome back to To the Moon with the Luna. Today's Bitcoin prize is sitting at 64,600. Today we're joined by Jay, the founder of BitBabe. Her journey into Bitcoin began with the desire to build a better future for her daughter, leading her to explore money, financial freedom, and long-term thinking. I love that. Through BitBabe, Jay is helping make Bitcoin more approachable, especially for women who are just getting started. Let's go. Jay, welcome to the moon with the Lunus. How are you?
SPEAKER_06I'm good. How are y'all? Thanks for having me. Absolutely. We're so excited to have you. It's gonna be a great conversation. And I've loved seeing your presence on X and just other social media platforms as well. So I'm I'm just so excited to chat with you.
SPEAKER_00Especially because um, I think like you're new to like talking in front of the screen from some of the videos that you share. So uh you're doing a great job, Jay. Just keep doing what you're doing.
SPEAKER_05Thank you, thank you. X Bitcoin X scares me. I'm not gonna lie, Instagram is a little like, you know, okay, cool. But I'm like, ooh, it's very, it's very serious on X. I I I used to just be like a scroller, but like posting, that's a completely different story.
SPEAKER_06So it's a different world, yeah, for sure. I was newer to X too, and I'm like, oh, okay, this is these are some interesting, you know, cut like conversations or comments, or you know, and you're like, oh gosh, I didn't mean to step on anyone's toes around here. I was just, you know, like yeah, thinking out loud.
SPEAKER_05I feel like I overthink every time I post on there because it's just post it. Don't fight me. Like I'm just I'm just a girl, you know? Yeah. Exactly. You're good.
SPEAKER_00Just send it. Just send it. I always think about that's so funny, Jay. When I was like, I'm slowly getting better at it. I think I everyone kind of goes through that like growing pain of like getting comfortable. Uh I always think too, like, I know this is wild, but like we're all gonna die one day, like later on in life, and like no one's gonna remember, like, hey, Anthony or Jay post, you know, in July of 2000 you know, 26 as something about like, you know, BitBay or like the people don't people don't care. People are already thinking and worrying about themselves, like they're not thinking about like what we're gonna put at you know at 12 o'clock on on a Tuesday. Right?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah. That's a good way to think about it. Like, nobody's really thinking about you that much. Yeah, that's so good. It's true. It's really hard.
SPEAKER_00That's so funny. So right now, so Jay, so right now, Bitcoin price is low. Uh, well, low were uh right. I think it's actually sitting pretty nicely where it's at, if you ask me. Um, I wanted to ask you, Bitcoin X Twitter is like a graveyard right now. It feels like everyone's like dead, dying, like negative, Nancy. So my question for you is we stacking or we selling? What are we doing here?
SPEAKER_05We're stacking every day. Every single day. Okay. I don't even think about it. Um, whenever I come across, you know, maybe some extra money, I'll buy more, but I have my strike set on autobique. I'm going and live live my life. But what today, I don't know. There was a little chatter. I I think X did something different with the algorithm or something.
SPEAKER_00So it it did. It did. Uh but like it just felt like you're right. Today was a little bit more like uppity up. Everybody was kind of on good spirits, but I feel like letting leading up to today, it was like cricket.
SPEAKER_05Nothing. Yeah, like nothing, nothing. And a lot of like whining. Like, you know, like Bitcoin do something, Bitcoin do something. I don't know. I think that's telling of like people that are like really about that life. You know, like they're you're you're not really you're not really a Bitcoiner. You're you're just trying to like make some money. You you're not even understanding what what's really going on. And like the people that like they have the conviction, they're doing things. They're taking their families, they're traveling, they're making stuff, they're making a business, you know. So they that it's down, okay. So what? Like, you know, I have all these animals to do. So I think that's how that's very telling. Yeah, that's really good.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, for sure. And so your journey started because you wanted a better future for your daughter. Can you tell us a little bit more about that moment when you started kind of asking those bigger questions and kind of went down what we always say the rabbit hole of Bitcoin? It's okay.
SPEAKER_05So I was thinking about this. It's like it's not one event that like I can pinpoint. It was kind of like over time, as I thought about it, like a series of events that kind of like, oh, this is where we are. So I'm the oldest grandchild. Um, my grandmother was my favorite person in the world. Love her down, like everything about me came from her. And I inherited a lot of things from her. So it was kind of like, okay, I want to make her proud and do the smart right things. Like, I'm like the gap between the past and then like looking towards my daughter's future. So I I I want to be able to do I knew I needed to do something. I didn't know what it was at the time, but to make make her proud, but then also set my daughter up so that she is better off than me. Because I think as parents, like that's always our goal. Like, you know, you want your kids to have a better life than you, do better than you. So, like, how do I do this? Um I think during COVID, I think a lot of people like came to like all kind of realizations during COVID. I started like learning how to trade. And like I joined a community of like traders and was training options, and um, I was buying crypto uh costage, I feel like, right? Pro and Celina Lord. Um but um making a l like I was making a little money, like you know, I I was getting I feel like I was getting lucky, you know? But then I kept doing it and I got my ass clapped. And I was like, oh, I don't I don't think trading is for me, you know, like that it was stressing me out, so I was like, mm, let's let's let's not do this for too much longer. Still maybe was buying crypto here and there, but yeah, not really serious. And then I realized, okay, I'm okay, I'm I'm I'm making decent money, if you will. Um so like what can I do? And I still I don't know. Um I still was very interested in the finance and space and just wanted to do something. I was dating a guy and he was a he was a trader, super successful, business owner, all of the things. He suddenly is like Bitcoin this, Bitcoin that, Bitcoin this. And like we're like hanging out, and it's always like Jack Mallers, Michael Taylor, and I'm like bruh, like this is a lot. We watch Netflix, like you know, and and but it like eventually like I started to like catch on to what they were saying, and then I can't became curious myself. Um so then I found myself like watching podcasts, then I was like, let me read a book. Then it was like another book and another, you know, like and then so then I'm like okay. I went for like a through like a year, kind of like very like nobody knew that I was doing this, that I just was like intrigued. And once you start, it's like you pull back one layer and you're like, no. So I had like this list because then I got to being like a contrarian of like this can't work, there's something wrong with this, there's a flaw. Like I'm making a list of like all of this stuff, and eventually I answer all the questions. Wow. This is the this is a real thing. There's there is nothing else. Like this is the if this isn't like this has to be the thing, right? So that's kind of like how I I between those things, I just my you know, my grandmother, my little girl, and just like realizing like I'm making more money than my mom and my grandma ever made, but I'm not doing what they were able to do. So it's like not adding up. So that's how like I ended up becoming a Bitcoiner and I just like from that. Um I just been there ever since. It's so crazy to think about it.
SPEAKER_06When would when would you say like all this, you know, your conviction kind of started? Was it like after after COVID or you know, 2020? I guess a lot of uh epiphanies happened during that time.
SPEAKER_05I feel like it was it was absolutely 20, I would say I started like consistently buying Bitcoin when each we need two.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Okay, okay, nice. And then so like 2021 would be was a year you felt like you were like studying and doing stuff in the shadows.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Like probably something like reading books and podcasts at in the in the at night down the rabbit hole by yourself?
SPEAKER_05I stopped buying uh all of those other coins, and I I ended up like just I was like, I'm gonna just sell this and then slowly just started buying Bitcoin with it. Nice.
SPEAKER_00Well, that's awesome. So um thanks for sharing that. And also, so with when it comes to like, okay, we have BitBabe, right? So like what where did this whole thought process and mind come like this mindset come from? Like, let me create BitBabe. And then if you can just add on a little bit, like what is BitBabe for all the listeners listening to?
SPEAKER_05Okay, so I literally, so after I'm like, I'm all in, like I'm I I consider myself a Bitcoiner, right? I wanted a necklace. I literally had the thought of like, oh, I could probably could just go on like Google or Amazon or something and find a necklace. I couldn't really find one that I there was not wasn't a lot to choose from. And so I didn't like any of those. So I was like, oh, well, I'm gonna just I'm gonna make one. And then I thought about it and I was like, I can't be the only one that like wants this thing. Um and then I thought about it and I'm like, wait, there's not a lot of representation that looks like me in the space. Yeah so I can kind of make this a thing. Um and so it just literally started from me wanting a necklace and me wanting to be because like so my friends, my mom, my aunt, everybody would like would kinda would tell me to shut up talking about the fucking. But then sometimes some of them would like text me like, hey, what is this? Or like how do I, you know, so I'm like, oh okay, so y'all are curious, y'all just don't really know how to how to like say it, or maybe you're afraid or something. I don't know. So Vit Babe is literally me wanting to encourage women to be in the space and and not be afraid to be curious, ask questions. Um, I think to me, those two things are the most important things for women, particularly, because when it comes to money, we'll just like wait, no offense, Anthony. We'll just wait for a man. Like, and why are you just waiting? Like, you use money all the time. You're doing all of this stuff, how running a household, taking care of like you use money, so you should know like what's going on, right? It doesn't have to be like this crypto bro, like yeah, talk. Like scare me. And let's we can make we can make it feminine, we can make it so that we understand it's it's you know, we women chit-chat, so like let's let's chit-chat about money.
SPEAKER_06Just yeah, absolutely, absolutely. I you know my I was gonna say I can relate to that because I was thinking even about your story about how your uh significant other was talking about Bitcoin all the time, and that's exactly what it was going on with Anthony. And I'm like, you know, I'm tired from work that day, and the during the day, I'm like, can we just not talk for life? And then especially about like, you know, deep finances, where he's like, you gotta watch this, this book, and da da. And I'm like, I don't know, like I can't absorb this information. We had like two young kids at the time. Um I was probably pregnant with the third or whatever, and I'm just like, I can't. So then finally, but it was always intriguing.
SPEAKER_01So I did I fiat, fiat, yeah, bad, bad, bad, yeah. Bitcoin, Bitcoin, Bitcoin.
SPEAKER_06So it's it's funny because I can definitely relate to that because you're just and you even had a better background because you're already in like into investing, learning more about finances, all of that. And I think what you're doing with BitBabe is so amazing because you're you're bringing a whole other audience into a space that feels intimidating, but it's really what we're using all the time, right? And everyone, I mean, we were just talking about this recently. Everyone is talking about money right now. Every single time you are in a conversation, someone is saying, yeah, that's so expensive, or something along those lines. And those are just and just every day, informal conversations that I have with random people at the store or at the, you know, and I'm we're always in conversations with people. So it's just like you have to have an understanding of what's going on in the world around you. Whether you're in charge of the finances or not in charge of the finances, it doesn't matter. You should still have a very deep understanding of what's going on in the world. Because it's just everyone's navigating it.
SPEAKER_05It affects everything. Like every part, even I don't know why people don't like talking about it. It's like like taboo, but it's like the kids can talk about it. I don't know if uh well, your kids are a little small, but like my daughter, she knows what Bitcoin is, she knows what money is, she knows what debt is because I mean her mom me, so yeah. But like I don't I don't see any reason why she shouldn't.
SPEAKER_06Like, yeah, it's for everyone.
SPEAKER_01Exactly.
SPEAKER_06Was there anything about money, you know, before Bitcoin that you that kind of like completely changed? So like before Bitcoin, what did you believe about money and then it completely changed for you?
SPEAKER_05Money was like something that you just worked for, and then you maybe you saved it but you just spent it right, like you that that was that was kind of like my that's all I thought of it. Yeah, and then you learned that like oh this is actually something worth studying. And yes, like if I took econ in college, like maybe I don't know, 101 or 102, I probably slipped through half of the yeah, so I don't know what they were even talking about, but it's not necessarily even just like that. Like I think that is that like it's probably important to someone. I don't like if you notice like my content I don't care about price, I don't care about charts. Yeah, that is so boring to me, it's so uninteresting to me. There's a million other people that can help you get to learn about that if that's what you're interested in. But the money itself, like where it comes from, yes, that's more important to me. Or like the history, understanding the history of money, understanding what fiat is, that's the stuff that I think is it's so important.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, completely agree. I also think like all these people that even go to like I know you took that class, right? All these people that even go to these top schools, like these top, top schools, these finances, these Goldman Sachs, and you would learn more in Bitcoin than you would learn in any of those classes. And what's cool about Bitcoin is like it teaches you, like the one of the takeaways I've always got from Bitcoin is that the more you learn about the history of money, the further you can see into the future. And people don't understand, like, so like what and that's why I think when we talk about Bitcoin and they're like, what? They're like, they look at you like you're speaking another language, but it's like, well, I think we're so far into the future and thinking where money's gonna go. They have they're still stuck with this like fiat mindset. Uh, or they're just like, hey, I'm just trying to like pay rent, I'm just trying to live every day, I'm trying to like make ends meet, right? They're stuck in the route rest they don't even have time to like get off and like, oh, let me see what's going on down there, or let me let me study this, or let me listen to a podcast. So many people are so stuck, you know. Kind of what Danielle was sharing. Everywhere we go, everywhere we go, everyone's like, oh man, like that's so expensive. Oh man, or they're working two jobs, yeah. And I'm like, man, I'm like, and then like in my head, like I always like I'll talk to them and I'll be like, man, it's crazy. Like, doesn't it feel like you're working two jobs when you're still not getting ahead? Some people like it rubs people the wrong way sometimes, right? But so I'll just very like cautious with the way I word stuff, but it's like you they have to hear this, right? Like, if you're working two jobs and you're not getting ahead, that's hard. Like, because if you're working two jobs just to stay like plateau, like even, like you have to you somebody has to go off and be like, I need to do something different. Yeah, I need to do something different. Like it's a need, um, I said this before too, with like Michael Saylor says, uh, Bitcoin is a need to know basis. So like when someone needs to know it, that's when they'll like look for it. And I was like, whoa, that's interesting. Yeah, that's very interesting. It's a needs to know basis. And I was like, wow, I never heard that before. Um, and I really liked it. Um, because I've always looked I'm curious, like what you said. And it was so funny. Your your family did what you did, Jay. Like you were talking to your uh, you know, your boyfriend, and you're like, oh my god, oh my god. And then they were like, Oh my god, there she goes again, there she goes again, and then they like all of a sudden randomly they hit you up and they're like curious, right? They're just being a Jay. That's it.
SPEAKER_05They're just being sometimes like you'll have a conversation and they'll maybe blow you off or like whatever, and then maybe but you plant a seed, yeah. And like we'll think about it, or they maybe will see something later, and they'll ask you, like two months like later, down the like, you know, down the line, and you're like, So what did you mean when you said that, you know, whatever? Or like sometimes I'll try to like be inflammatory on purpose, depending on what I'm talking about, and I'll or talking to, and I'll like one of my cousins, and I'll be like, Well, your money's fake anyway, you know, and like here you go with this stuff again. But she I think the cousin that I'm thinking of, she came back and she was like, Wait, can you explain? Um, she was she was trying to understand why why the bank wanted to have an explanation as to why she needed to take out a large deposit or take out a large sum of money. Exactly. I told I took I told you it was fake and straight. So we had a long talk. Um I think I have her. Sold now to where she she set up her like BCA. So that's wow. Wow, that's great. Just plant those seeds sometimes. And I think sometimes it's okay to like maybe you ruffle a feather.
SPEAKER_00So like yeah, exactly. And that's good. Like, who cares, right? Like who like you're at the end of the day, you're like looking out for their best interest, even though they may not see it.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um, yeah, I don't know. And then like then it would be great too. I think, like, if you're like planting all these seeds and you're buffing all these feathers, and then like years later they're like, Oh my gosh, like she told me to buy this at X amount, and now it's X amount, you know, and you're like, Well, girl, I love you. I love you, you know, I love you. I try to look out for you. I love you.
SPEAKER_05I say if I tell you to buy Bitcoin multiple times, you have to know that like I care about you.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes, yes, yes, that is so good. Oh my gosh, that is so good.
SPEAKER_06Oh my gosh. So, do you think um we're so early when it comes to women entering the Bitcoin space? And what do you think we can do to like encourage more women to get involved?
SPEAKER_05It's it's definitely early. I think Bitcoin overall is early still. Particularly if you're we're talking about women, yes. Um there are some like women I'll say like are like pioneers, right? That like the Natalie Brunel. Um, I don't know if you guys know Efra, I'm maybe pronouncing her name incorrectly. Efra Finnegisson. I really love her podcast.
SPEAKER_00Oh, you're gonna send it to us.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, you're gonna send it to it. So earlier this year, there was a women in Bitcoin like com virtual conference. And I thought that was really cool, but it there wasn't like there could have been way more women on there, I think. So I think like how we get more women in this space encourage people to just be nosy. Like we're already naturally nosy.
SPEAKER_04So being nosy. She's talking about women.
SPEAKER_05Women, we I mean, I don't know, maybe Daniel maybe different, but like women are known to like, you know, we snoop and stuff. Well, like we inquisitive but annulate to something that is important. Like I I posted a um a few weeks ago. Like, I think that we need to like start acting like like kindergartners. Yes, I saw that. Ask questions like why who said it? Why did they say that? Like, where did it come from? Um encourage that type of like behavior, and I think that women will grasp on to that more than like I said, like the boring price, the charts. I don't I don't think that women will react to that, but yeah, those questions I think that that that's how we get more women in the space.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and like because I there's so much that is Bitcoin that it represents, right? It represents like our health, our wealth, like all of these different things that I feel education, education, our spirituality, all of those things that really create that like moral compass. Uh, it aligns with a lot of people's values, right? And so I just think I I agree with you in the sense where women already are trying to incorporate that into their homes, right? They're trying to create a space that feels like centered, right, around like good things. And I feel like Bitcoin does that. And it took me a lot of tons of conversations with other, you know, Bitcoiners and you know, obviously conversations with Anthony, and then listening to other podcasts and things like that for me to really understand that this is more than just like an investing thing. It's so much more because you are investing not just in, yes, obviously future wealth and you know, assets and you know, all that, but you're investing in yourself, you know, you're investing in your growth as a person too. So I just think, yeah, I I'm with you on that. I think that would be something that, you know, as long as we can kind of keep that focus. I feel like women are all right now just so focused on their like their home.
SPEAKER_05Like a lot of um people's people wanting to get away from all of the toxic chemicals, the toxic clothing, um, let's grow our own food, like all of that type of stuff. Like let's let's get back to herbal medicine, let's put down all of the pharmaceutical drugs, let's eat real food again, like all of that stuff. I I don't think that they realize that that, you know, that is it's a bitcoin touches that, and I think that we connect with that so much. And once you once you see that, you're you're like, oh yeah, this is this is you know, these are people like me. This is where I am.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Speaking about food, uh, you've been growing your own food too, right?
SPEAKER_05Yeah. I do, I do, I do. Um so I I I I always had like a few like indoor plants, but then COVID I turned into a plant lady. Um and then um when I bought my house in Texas, I was like, this huge yard. Like I'm gonna like I'm gonna do a garden. Like both of my grandmothers they had their garden with like all my life. So I think it was just something that was like naturally like it made sense for me to do. But I think studying Bitcoin, learning the money, it kind of like propelled me wanting to like dive into that and do it more. So this probably like what year three for me of of having a garden. So yeah, um, I think I'm a gardener now. Yeah, nice, that's amazing.
SPEAKER_06I one day I think I will want to do that because I just feel like I have a a friend that I um follow and she lives locally to us, and she's always like, I grew my cucumbers today. I grew up, we're gonna make you know this with our, you know, harvest. And it's so cute because it's like sometimes it's like three things, right? In her little harvest, but it's so cool because her kids are doing it with her. They're like all of the whole you know aspect of it all is just super cool to me. Um, but that's I love I love seeing your post about like your food and your fitness and all of that. It's so awesome.
SPEAKER_05Thank you. Thank you. You know, y'all have the perfect climate for for growing so much stuff. So just get a pot and start. Like, even if you just start with one pot, like you know, start small.
SPEAKER_06Maybe some cucumber, maybe, maybe a cucumber or something. Yeah, yeah. And then it's like, I don't know where this pot's gonna go.
SPEAKER_00No, there's like, no, it's just so funny when you say pot, because like sometimes I swear, because we live in California, and like sometimes I'll just be driving and like I just smell weed everywhere. Like, I just smell weed everywhere. I don't know. My mind just went, you know, California, you're like pot. I was like, and then I just think about growing stuff. I'm like, man, I just smell weed. I just walk out of the house and like someone like she's like, grow anything.
SPEAKER_05He's like, you know what we could no, but and even right now, all of the like, I don't know what they're talking about, this uh virus or something.
SPEAKER_06That's it's like scaring me, yeah.
SPEAKER_05People are like having explosive diarrhea or something. I don't know, but it makes me feel a little bit better that I at least I have the like understanding and I'll say somewhat of the skill uh to internal food and not have to rely necessarily on the grocery store for like everything. So yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. No, that's good.
SPEAKER_05Such a good skill to have.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, I think that I think that's great. And then we we actually had an interview with the uh Cody. Uh oh yeah, yeah, he has like a homestead. Like he liked everything. He's just literally just trying to like lit live off like his land and stuff. And he has I think six kids.
SPEAKER_06Uh it's six, not six to eight, it's six.
SPEAKER_05What do we count him for anymore?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, exactly. And he he's so awesome, and he's like, he tells me it's crazy the stories because he can he'll just he'll just like show anywhere they go up, it's just like a one, two, three, four, five.
SPEAKER_06Maybe it's more than six. I don't know. Now you got me thinking because it was a lot, it was a lot of kids.
SPEAKER_00I know, yeah, it's so cool. It's so cool, and they have like chickens, cows, everything, and they all like they all uh contribute to like yeah, you wake up super early, and then this person does.
SPEAKER_06Full family helps. It's awesome.
SPEAKER_00Boom, boom.
SPEAKER_05That's like a dream to me. I love that. I I think I'm thinking about maybe next next spring getting some chickens. My neighbors have them, so okay. We'll see, we'll see what happens.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, one step at a time. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_00One step at a time.
SPEAKER_06Um and I was gonna ask you, going back to like our conversation about women entering the Bitcoin space, what are some big like the bigger misconceptions that you hear from women who are curious about Bitcoin?
SPEAKER_05Oh goodness. If you ask like one of my cousins, they'll tell you the CIA made it. Um That's she loves to tell me that. The government's gonna the government's gonna steal all your money, they're just tricking you or something. Like, so that's a big one. Um, I think that she's just crazy. But uh I think another big one is women will think that they don't have enough money to like get started. And I'm like, you start with a dollar, like yeah, you have a dollar, you will go, you know, out to eat and spend a hundred dollars and not think twice about it. You have have the money, yeah. What else? Don't have enough money, don't understand it, and then they think they think that they need to be like this super finance technical person, and it's like, no, I'm not that. I'm I'm just a girl. Like you can you can do it too. My daughter she knows how to make coin, like she she understands like what a wallet is, so I think that that's probably those three, yeah, um, are the first to come to mind for sure for me.
SPEAKER_00That's so funny because it goes it stems back to money, right? It's like taboo where everyone nobody talks about money. We never talked about it in school, and and then all of a sudden when we become adults and we're like trying to figure out life, like I I don't care. You could probably you could still be like 22, 25, 30, and still trying to figure out life. Like, there's no like like date or age where you're like, okay, I figured this out. Because when it so people don't, I feel like they don't want to be embarrassed or they don't want to get their ego hurt, where they're like, you know, if you ask a lot of people right now, like if we ask like 10 people, like, hey, what is money? And like a lot of them don't know what is money, no, you know, and so and then and then if you share with them, like, no, that's not money, like they're gonna feel I think they're just gonna feel butthurt naturally, yeah, because they're like, man, how am I like 30? How am I 25? How am I 35 and not know what money is? Right, you I think it's uh and then so then it even it becomes more of like you puts them in a shell where they're just like, I don't want to talk about this, or you know, don't tell me I've been lied to my whole life. That's another thing, right? When it comes to Bitcoin, it humbles you. You're like, what? No way, how did I fall for this? How is this true? Like, how did no one teach me this? How do I not know this? Yeah, how does my parents not know this? Like, we all just got finessed, and I'm like, dude, they're finessing the world, and people just you have to just be like, okay, let me admit that I'm wrong and let me go down and see what this is about.
SPEAKER_05Who cares how old you are? Like, okay, now you know, so now what are you gonna do? I think that's a better way to like like I don't know. I feel I don't know everything. I don't think I know that I I'm smart enough to know that I don't know everything, and that's so m there's so much for me to learn. Like every day I can like learn something. So I think I don't know, that's people are not humble, maybe. I don't know what it is, but I agree, you're right. They're just almost embarrassed if you tell them no, that's not what money is.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I agree.
SPEAKER_06That's it, it's sad though. It's like you have been lied your whole to your whole life, you know, like you've been taught like go to school, you know, get a good job, get a degree. You know, the life song that we all sing. I call it the life song. The life song that we always say. I let that. Yeah. Yeah. And it's not working anymore.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06You know, it's not. I mean, we're both, you know, educated, right? It's like we got graduated and you know, we did everything the right way. And we're like, oh, we should have blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah, you know, XYZ. And it's it's tough. It's tough out here, you know, and it's and everyone is navigating it. So it is much worse.
SPEAKER_05Yes, getting it's not gonna get better.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_05That's the thing that I like people wake up. This is not like it's not changing, it's not gonna get cheaper. Nothing cheaper.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and if you and I always think like I always think so far ahead now with because Bitcoin has me thinking in the future, like it's 2026, and we're already halfway through this year. 2028, 2030 are gonna be here tomorrow. And like, what are prices gonna be then? Yeah, like that's wild. I was talking to Mello today on on on uh on X. I don't know if you know Mello. Um, he was talking about how like Air Force Ones, like Air Force Ones were like 60 bucks. Yeah, and and they were and I and I used to wear them all the time, my whole uh like my whole school life, childhood. Uh and then they would just we I would call them like air lunas because I just wore them all day, every day. I have one for track, I had them for basketball, I have one for just for school, for class, and now they're like 130. And I'm like, oh my goodness, same shoe, same shoe. Did you don't get faster, you they're not wider, like it's the same shoe, and it's 130.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Wow. I think they're probably not the same, they're probably cheaper. Like this material is probably like worse now than like when you were in high school, but like yeah, 2000 in the 2000s. I bet if you could find a pair of those, they probably will last longer than the ones that are.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you're right, you're right, Jay. You're right. That's wild.
SPEAKER_06It's so true. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so uh, so Jay, back uh you manage large transformation uh projects for Fortune 500 companies and government organizations. How has that experience shaped the way you think about Bitcoin and systems now? Comparing those two.
SPEAKER_05I forget that I have a job sometimes. Um, so as a project manager, a big part of being like valuable to your clients is being able to zoom out and see the system from a broader scale. Yes. Um, a lot of times clients they're just focused on just this one thing and this one thing is not working. Why isn't it not working? I think my understanding of that helped me to be able to grasp the what Bitcoin means a lot faster. Okay. Um there's a problem, you can't just fix this one piece, patch it up, and think everything's gonna be good. You need to zoom out, you need to look at all of the processes. So now I'm gonna talk like a project manager. You have to look at all of the processes, you need to consider your resources, you need to consider your budget, maybe you're you're underburning or you're overburning, but all of like it's if I were to like compare it to like what Bitcoin is, it's literally the same thing as far as like why our money is broken. Just being able to see a system and understand that you need to know how to go through the life cycle um and understand all of like the dependencies and the risk and things. It is literally Bitcoin. Um it's so funny using those words talking about Bitcoin, but um that that is essentially I think was really easy for me um to get because it's just a system. Just yeah, look at the big picture.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it's always the big picture. You have to look you you have to be able to have a a perspective of zooming out, you know, when it comes to anything. Like you have to really look back and peel the the layers of, you know, why are these things happening and what's going on, what's behind this this door that we need to fix and you know, go here, go there, you know. So you do have to have a zoom out, zoom in approach kind of thing.
SPEAKER_05I think another piece is you need to know incentives. Uh-huh. Why certain things are maybe a certain way, because like what is maybe this project manager where this stakeholder getting for doing this particular thing, you know, a certain way, or they're what are they not getting, you know? Um, the same thing with Bitcoin. Like, what is the incentive for the government to continue to raise the debt ceiling every freaking often? It happens. There's an you know, there so understanding the incentives and and systems uh it's literally the same thing, you know?
SPEAKER_06Yeah. What it's I know, and thankfully you had that background to help you understand Bitcoin a little bit better, too. Not that it like, but it is what it is.
SPEAKER_01I feel like it's her boyfriend.
SPEAKER_04Not my boyfriend, but a really, really good, really good friend.
SPEAKER_00Dude, he could not stop talking about it. She was like, stop it. Uh, this was not her uh project management skills. They I think the project manager skills just made you like easy to connect the dots, but like him drilling it, I think that was it too.
SPEAKER_05I agree. I thought he was crazy. I'm not gonna lie, I'm like, you know, yeah, this man has lost his mind. What is he talking about? And now like my mom, they a lot of everybody, my friends, they probably say the same thing about me. So again, yeah, it's all good.
SPEAKER_00It's all good. I'd rather be crazy though. I'd rather be crazy than normal and like just like walking through life, like uh and trying to figure out ways to be a solution seeker, right? Like, how do I get ahead of it? Like, there's like I don't know. I don't want to be the one that's gonna be someone talking to me and just being like, yeah, I'm marking two or three jobs and it's tough out here. I'm like, no, I want to be like, oh, dude, you gotta study Bitcoin. Like, you gotta study Bitcoin. Yeah, you know.
SPEAKER_06I feel like we need to do that more, you know. Like, I feel like I am having those conversations so often, and it's like, I I wanna be like, I wanna give you something to like be able to not feel so hopeless, you know, and like at least maybe it'll be like you said, plant a seed of you going, hey, have you, or maybe it's a woman that I'm talking to, and she's you know, she goes to her husband's like, hey, this girl was talking about Bitcoin, you know, like do we do you know anything about it? You know, just to have those conversations started. I think it's like you said, it could come back, or hopefully they can find hope in Bitcoin in their life, you know, whether I ever we ever talk to those people ever again, right? Who knows if you ever cross paths with them again? But sometimes I'm like, should I just tell them, hey, have you ever heard of Bitcoin?
SPEAKER_03Or like, I do.
SPEAKER_06I feel like I need to be better at that because sometimes I'm just letting them throw up on me of like they're you know, I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Or, or she can be like, Hey, you see this? Hey, you see this?
SPEAKER_05People, um, like like in the grocery store, I was in line the other day, and this man, he's like, What? I'm like, what are you doing? And I guess it is. And so, you know, they that's usually how it goes. Um grocery store and in the gym for whatever reason, because I I never I never take it off. So in the gym, I I have a few people, you know, you see the same people in the gym all the time, and they'll always want to chit-chat about it. So yeah, it's a good conversation starter. What do y'all like tell people? Um, because like when people ask me like, how do I learn or or whatever? I always tell them to go watch Hidden Secrets of Money.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_05But I feel like it's so boring.
SPEAKER_06The um, so so the other thing is They told me to do the same and I really tried, and it was just so it was a so much information that I was just like, I don't know. I feel like I'm in a history class, but also it's good.
SPEAKER_00I do oh my god. I my thing is like if you're struggling and you're trying to figure things out and you're like, and someone told me like to go watch this, and like and I'm more like let's just say you're not even a bit coiner. Let's just say you're not even a bit coiner and just watch and like no, I don't know, I don't even care who you are. I know you're watching Netflix, I know you're watching YouTube videos, I know you're doing pla maybe even playing video games. I don't know what people do now that like you're doing something that's non-productive. So if someone's like, hey man, go look at this, like I think it'll really help you. Like, what am I gonna do? I could just I could work out, drive on my car, uh to work, and just force myself to listen to this, and then I'd be like, whoa, like, okay, cool. Like, I don't know. Uh, you're gonna be curious about all types of things, whether it's multi level marketing, whether it's trying to start an e commerce business, whether it's a Substack, whether it's uh uh anything, right? XYZ, like Bitcoin or uh kind. Cryptocurrency or uh stocks, right? Trading, right? So if you're trying to get ahead, you're gonna be like, all right, let me force myself to swallow this pill very true and to do it for me. And we live in 2026, so like we have the internet, like every excuse is out the out the out the window now. Like you gotta figure it out. So going back to your question, I always say hidden secrets of money because that's for me what like was like whoa. And I don't know, I did I used to do real estate like uh mortgages for like 10 years, and so I always thought that was weird. And then when I saw that, that helped connect the dots for me. I always thought it was like fake and weird, and like how I could just do this loan for some you know, Sandy 75 in Wisconsin. Like it was all like how this person in the next cubicle and the next cubicle and next cubic are like we're all doing like millions of dollars worth of loans, right? And like making it up money, making it up, just making it up, just like putting numbers in a screen, and then boom, like it all made sense to me. I'm like, wow, and so um that one, and then the other one is thank god for Bitcoin. Um, a lot of people would say that it's um, you know, like right off the bat, they're big allowed, they probably get the wrong impression. Like, what are we thanking God for Bitcoin? But uh again, be curious. Like, let me just let me just read it. Uh, you know, if Jay's mentioning it, Anthony's mentioning it, or you see it all over on X, like just take a peek, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And auto audible it, like, do something, do figure it out.
SPEAKER_04And read the book is like it's like this it's super thin.
SPEAKER_00It's such an easy read. Like, I love reading that book like once a year, like just to like sharpen up on my skills. So to me, it's always like hidden secrets of money is my go-to, because that's what you know got me down the rabbit hole. And then thing off for Bitcoin. There's other good books out there, but like I think it was Jomi. Uh, she said the other day, she's like, um uh the Bitcoin standard is too uh it's almost a little bit too complex for your everyday reader. And I I I agree with her because there's already concepts in there that you probably already as a Bitcoiner you would know.
SPEAKER_05Yep.
SPEAKER_00Um in there, but not for somebody who's a beginner, they'll just be like, um, this is another language. And then my my favorite thing is now is everywhere we go, I'll just ask, like, hey, do you guys accept Bitcoin here? And then and then they'll be like, What? And I know that's like already like getting their wheels turning. They see it on TV. They I know one of their friends is probably talking about it. Yeah, and then I'll be like, Hey, do you guys, hey, do you guys accept Bitcoin here? And they'll be like, No, like you'll get some funny responses. Um, but it's it's fun though. It's I I think it's fun, and at the end of the day, you walk out and you planted a seed.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Start doing that. I like that, especially like like a coffee shop or like the nails one. I'm gonna I'm gonna see what happens. I'll I'll text you and let you know. I'll see the message on X and let you know that it's really good. I like that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and you know what's cool? You know what? I'm gonna do that too. That'll actually be a good thing to do where I'll see all the different responses that I get and I could post them on X. I think that'll be cool. Like, hey, I just went to Starbucks and I asked something and then they said this. I went here and then they said this.
SPEAKER_06I wonder if you could even this series. No, even like film, film it like unknown, like just hold your phone and just so like people could see.
SPEAKER_00Hey, do you guys accept Bitcoin?
SPEAKER_05Don't do that. You can record yourself and maybe like you know Yeah, like hold it to yourself and then just like ask the question.
SPEAKER_00That would be a cool little series. Okay, okay, Jay.
SPEAKER_05Okay, nice.
SPEAKER_01Let's go. All right. I love it. I like it. I like it.
SPEAKER_06Um, I wanted to ask you, Jay, what's one thing that you know Bitcoin changed about your life that has nothing to do with money?
SPEAKER_05Everything that I care about, I think about differently. Relationship, um, my health, the food that I eat, even the food that my dog eats.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Um the the things that I'm like consuming. Um like TV, social media, like I I just am very intentional and picking and then I teach my daughter the same thing. Like we we can't just do stuff because it's it's trendy. I almost run away from stuff because it's trendy, like it scares me. Like everybody's I I'm like, no, that's no, that's not for me. I don't know about that. Like I I wanna think about things a lot harder and longer, um and just think long term about stuff. Um those things just are not like like I don't play about like especially like with her my daughter. I don't, you know, I'm very serious. She she's like my mom, and sometimes she's a little crazy, and I'm like, yes, I am crazy because I care about you and I want you to understand have just a real understanding of what's going on in the world. Um the relationship with my mom, uh the friends that I care about. Dating. I know y'all are married, but I'm not so becoming a bit corner made that so hard. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, so so so so hard because people that are just like very into going out, getting drunk, um, you wanna smoke like no, absolutely not. Um I I can't do it. So like just all of those things are just so much more intentional now. I I don't play about them. Being in tune with my spirituality, my faith, understanding that like making decisions um from a place, you know, like that are from God. I think is ours is so important and and putting freedom first in a lot of things is so important. You know, I grew up in the church, but you kind of as you grow up, you move away from that. But that is so important as well. So just just all of all of that, like everything that is important to me is just very I'm very much intentional about it, narrow. It's not just well, whatever, like no, mm-mm. That's so good.
SPEAKER_00You're like, hey, these are my values, and then what's cool is because that's what we do too when we got married and stuff like that. We figured out our values and then we filter all of our decisions, um, Jay, through our values. So even the people we hang out with, the food, everything, like, hey, if it doesn't align with our values, like, oh no, we're not doing that. It's just a waste of time, right? We're just like chasing the wind. It sounds like that would be difficult, like in finding another person, man or girl, right? Because now you're like, like, I ain't here to play no games, but they don't know that the way that you're thinking, because you're thinking like a bitcoiner where you're like intentional about everything, right? So you're like, you're like, ooh, you better be careful the way you talk around me, or around me.
SPEAKER_05I just you I you're out of here so fast. And I I say, like, I don't even necessarily need you to be a bitcoiner, but I do need you to be curious, or I need you to be open-minded so that like you can understand the why I am the way that I am. Yeah. So it's not finding those two things also and just um someone that is like attractive.
SPEAKER_06What love is yeah, they are. Yeah, I bet. I bet. I can't imagine. I think about people who are dating right now all the time, and I'm like, because it's just a different world. It's a different world than like when we were younger. We didn't have all this like social media, really, you know, like all of these interferences of like meeting people, you know, and so it's it's hard. It's it's and people's value systems changed so much, I feel like. Like it's and slowly it's been happening more so, right? Like, unless you have, again, your value system figured out, you have the things that you desire are deeply embedded into your, you know, and how how you live your life, it's very hard to find people that are like that. Even friendships. Like, I've met moms that I'm like, I don't really align with you. Like, I actually, you know, I'm I'm trying, you know, I'm like over here just really trying to be, you know, because our kids are kind of getting along. But I'm like, I don't think, I don't know. This is not gonna work, you know?
SPEAKER_05I didn't even think about that. Cause yeah, years are at that age where like play dates is really a really important thing. So yeah, like even that.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. But thankfully, I mean, uh, we we choose to homeschool. So you find people who are somewhat similarly minded, um, thankfully, but there are times where I'm like, you know, yeah, you just don't have the same same values, and that's fine, you know. But a lot of times, thankfully, you know, at least they have their faith and like the understanding of wanting that um independent like education and things like that.
SPEAKER_00You don't gotta be rude about it, right? You just be like, you know, we just kind of go our own ways.
SPEAKER_06We probably felt the same way.
SPEAKER_05I don't, I I just feel like like, you know, it's no love loss. Like, yeah, we can maybe like I don't I mean, depending on like what level it is or whatever, we can still like be cordial or chit-chat, but you're not gonna necessarily be someone that I'm gonna like be willing to be open with, yeah, you know, absolutely extremely communicative with just because for what? Like for what for what?
SPEAKER_01I like that.
SPEAKER_06Oh my gosh. And you you touched on a point of that long-term thinking, which is such a good, you know, mindset to have. Why is that principle so important to you and not just for Bitcoin, but in general?
SPEAKER_05You are if you're just living your life where you're doing stuff for tomorrow or for next week, you're gonna find yourself unhappy in the future. Um, I think that a lot of times people are just just you know, we're this what do we I like to call it, this microwaveable society where everything is instant right away, you know? And that stuff doesn't last and it just it's not gonna carry you um 10 years, 20 years from now. So you have to like be forward thinking. You're you're you if you're not, you will look back and regret the decisions that you're you making or that you're not making. I think now like especially like my my age, um my friend circle, you're starting to see it in the physical in their health. Yeah, and it it's it's so sad to me because it's like girl, I've been telling you to come go walking with me, or you know, come to the gym with me. And now like you're starting to have like all of these health issues and stuff that like it's that's a whole nother world to me. So yeah, like you have to like and then it's like so looking towards your 40s, like you're you're getting sick now, you're not necessarily all the way even in your 40s. What's your 50s and 60s gonna be like?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I know.
SPEAKER_05You you have to think about that. Like you're gonna get old, you're that's just I mean, God willing, you know, you're you have and you wanna be able to enjoy it. Like you don't wanna have to rely on like medicine or a breathing machine, or you know, like you don't that that just is so crazy to me. So I think that like just forward thinking is it's just responsible.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, absolutely. I agree with you 100%. Like, even if like like if I have a bad day or just felt off, I gotta go work out. Even if I have a good day, I've never had a day where I've like I finished a workout and I was like, man, that workout sucked. Like, no, never, never. I'm always like, I always feel 10 times better. Yeah, and even if it was a bad workout, it's better than no workout, right? And so, um, yeah, and to kind of wrap things up here too, Jay. I agree with you on all that stuff. Uh, if someone's listening today and they're first getting into the Bitcoin space and they just kind of uh they just want to like, you know, dip their foot in the water, uh, what's some type of advice that you would give to them?
SPEAKER_05Be curious, don't be afraid to act, like there's no stupid question. So, like, question everything. Like, I think that people should literally pretend like they're five at like a kindergartner. You know how kids are like, well, mommy, why? Yeah, well, why do we do this? Use that approach and just keep just keep asking questions, keep digging, keep trying to figure out why things are the way they are. And then after you understand the problem of like everything that's wrong in this EO world, then move to Bitcoin. Like, don't even worry about Bitcoin at first, just understand like the problem. And and I think that that's the best way um for anybody that's new to get it.
SPEAKER_00Nice. I like that. That's good advice.
SPEAKER_06I love that, Jay. You have been such a pleasure to talk to. I feel like we could talk to you even longer and ask all so many more questions. But we appreciate you. We appreciate the space that you've created for women in bitcoin, and I love this necklace. I'm already looking at all the other jewelry you're creating for for women in bitcoin and just in general. It's beautiful. Um, but where can people connect with you, Jay?
SPEAKER_05I am bitbabe21.com, bitbabe21 on Instagram, TikTok, and X. So that's where you can find me.
SPEAKER_06Awesome. Thank you so much, Jay, for being with us. We really appreciate you. And thank you, everyone else, for tuning in to To the Moon with the Lunas, and we'll see you all on the moon.
SPEAKER_03Peace.
