Knowing Your Worth: Becoming Who God Created You to Be

Welcome back to Roots to Restoration, Fate, Family, and Healing with Marie. In the last episode, we talked about boundaries and how protecting your peace is part of your healing. But today we're stepping into something even deeper. Because once you begin to set boundaries, once you begin to choose differently, there is a question that naturally follows. Who am I becoming? Jeremiah 1 verse 5 says, Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I set you apart. For many people, their identity was shaped by what they went through, by how they were treated, by what they were told, by what they experienced, and without realizing it, they began to believe those things. They begin to see themselves through pain, through rejection, through survival. Instead of seeing themselves through who God created them to be, sometimes we don't struggle with knowing who we are. We struggle with letting go of who we thought we had to be. The version that learned to stay quiet, the version that learned to overgive, the version that learned to accept less. Because at one point that version was necessary. It helped you survive. But healing reveals something. You don't have to stay that version of yourself. Knowing your worth looks like not settling even when it's easier, not shrinking even when it's uncomfortable, not questioning your value based on how someone else treats you. It looks like standing firm, even when it's new for you, even when it feels unfamiliar. Your worth was never meant to be defined by what you experienced. It was established before any of that happened, before the pain, before the disappointment, before the confusion. God always knew who you were. And healing is the process of returning to that truth. Your identity must be rooted in God, because when it's rooted in people, it shifts. When it's rooted in situations, it becomes unstable. But when it's rooted in God, it becomes unshakable. Because his view of you does not change. And when you begin to see yourself the way he sees you, everything begins to shift. You are not what you went through. You are not defined by what hurt you. You are not limited by what tried to break you. You are becoming who God created you to be. And that version of you is not weak. It's whole. Ask yourself who have I been believing myself to be? And then ask, does that align with how God sees me? You don't have to go back to who you were. You don't have to stay in what was familiar. You can grow, you can change, you can become. And as you continue this journey, remember, your worth was never lost. It just needed to be rediscovered. Let us have a closing prayer. Heavenly Father, help us to see ourselves the way you see us. Remove every false belief, every label that was never from you. Restore our identity and guide us into who you created us to be. In Jesus' name, amen. Thank you for joining me on Roots to Restoration, faith, family, and healing with Marie. Be blessed and continue growing in faith, healing, and restoration one season at a time. As we continue this season, this was one of those deeper reflections a moment to pause, to think, and to grow. And wherever you are in your journey, let this meet you there.
