Welcome back to Roots to Restoration, Faith, Family, and Healing with Marie. In the last episode, we talked about healing our triggers and learning how to respond with greater peace and awareness. But today we're going even deeper. Because sometimes we become so used to carrying emotional weight that we don't even realize how heavy it has become. Some of us have been caring so much for so long that exhaustion started feeling normal. Matthew 11 verse 28 says, Come to me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Not all weight is physical. Some weight is emotional. The pressure we carry, the stress we hold in, the emotions we never fully process, and over time it builds quietly, until one day you realize you're tired in a way that sleep alone cannot fix. Sometimes we carry other people's expectations, other people's emotions, other people's opinion of us, trying to keep everyone happy, trying to avoid conflict, trying to hold everything together. And sometime in the middle of that we forget about ourselves. We become emotionally exhausted, not because we are weak, but because we've been carrying things that were never ours to hold alone. It can look like feeling mentally drained, feeling overwhelmed easily, feeling emotionally exhausted even after small situations. Sometimes it looks like wanting silence, wanting space, wanting to disconnect from everything for a while. Not because you don't care, but because your mind and emotions are asking for rest. You are not meant to carry everything. You are allowed to release pressure, you are allowed to step back, you are allowed to choose peace without feeling guilt for it. And letting go doesn't make you selfish, it makes you aware of your limits and your needs. God never asks you to carry life alone. That's why Scripture says, Come to me. Not when you finish everything out, not when you feel completely strong, but when you are weary, when you feel burdened, when you feel emotionally tired, and sometimes healing begins with finally admitting, I'm tired.
SPEAKER_01You do not have to hold everything together all the time.
SPEAKER_00You do not have to carry everyone else's weight, and you do not have to prove your strength through exhaustion. Real strength also knows when to rest, when to pause, when to release. Ask yourself what emotional weight have I been carrying for too long, and then ask, what would it feel like to finally release it? You deserve peace too, you deserve rest too. And as you continue this journey, remember, not everything belongs on your shoulders. Some things need to be released. Let us close with a prayer. Heavenly Father, help us to release the emotional weight we've been carrying for too long. Give us peace where there has been pressure and rest where there has been exhaustion. Teach us to bring our burdens to you instead of carrying them alone. In Jesus' name, amen. As we continue this season, this is part of a deeper reflection in the journey. Take what you need from it and let it meet you where you are. Thank you for joining me on Roots to Restoration, Faith, Family, and Healing with Marie. Be blessed and continue healing in faith, healing, and restoration one season at a time.
