Welcome back to Roots to Restoration, Faith, Family, and Healing with Marie. In the last episode, we talked about emotional weight and how many of us carry things internally for far longer than we realize. But today we are going deeper into something connected to that. Because sometimes the reason we feel emotionally exhausted is because we spend so much time trying to hold everything together. Some people become so used to being the strong one that they forget they need care too. Galatians 6 verse 2 says, Carry each other's burden, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Many people silently carry pressure, pressure to stay strong, pressure to keep going, pressure to be available for everyone else. And after a while, that pressure becomes normal. You stop asking for help. You stop expressing what you truly feel. You convince yourself I'll handle it. I'll deal with it later. I just need to keep moving. But internally, you're becoming overwhelmed. Sometimes being the strong one becomes part of your identity. You become the person people rely on, the person who keeps things together, the person who carries the emotional weight. And while that may look strong externally, internally it can become exhausting. Because strength without rest eventually turns into burnout. And many people don't realize how emotionally tired they are until they finally slow down. It can look like feeling emotionally drained while still showing up for everyone else, smiling externally while internally feeling overwhelmed, feeling guilty when you tried to rest, feeling responsible for fixing everything, and constantly carrying pressure that no one else even sees. But healing teaches us something important. You are allowed to need support too. You are allowed to rest. You are allowed to pause. You are allowed to say, I can't carry everything. And that doesn't make you weak. God never asks you to carry every burden alone. That's why He invites us to bring things to Him. Not only when we feel strong, but especially when we feel overwhelmed. And sometimes the strongest thing you can do is admit you need rest. Admit you need peace. Admit you need God's help. You do not have to prove your worth through constant exhaustion. You do not have to earn rest. And you do not have to carry everyone else's emotions while ignoring your own. You matter too. Your peace matters too. Your healing matters too. Ask yourself where in my life am I carrying too much pressure? And then ask what would happen if I finally gave myself permission to rest. You are not failing because you feel tired. You are human, and healing sometimes begins with finally putting down what was never yours to carry alone. Let us close with a prayer. Heavenly Father, help us to release the pressure of trying to hold everything together. Teach us to rest in you and remind us that we do not have to carry life alone. Give us peace where there has been pressure and strength where there has been exhaustion. In Jesus' name, Amen. As we continue this season, this is a part of a deeper reflection in the journey. Take what you need from it and let it meet you where you are. Thank you for joining me on Roots to Restoration, Faith, Family, and Healing with Marie. Be blessed and continue growing in faith, healing, and restoration one season at a time.
