Welcome back to Roots to Restoration, Fate, Family, and Healing with Marie. In the last episode, we talked about unlearning the need to always be strong and how many of us carry pressure silently without realizing how deeply it affects us. But today we're going deeper into something many people struggle with during healing. Because sometimes, even after becoming more aware, we can still be extremely hard on ourselves. Some people give grace to everyone else except themselves. Lamentation three verse twenty two to twenty three says, Because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed. His mercies are new every morning. Healing is not always a straight line. There are good days, hard days, days where you feel strong, and days where old emotions resurface unexpectedly. And many people begin judging themselves for not healing fast enough. They think I should be over this by now. I thought I already healed from this. Why am I still struggling with this feeling? And without realizing it, they turn healing into pressure. Sometimes we expect ourselves to heal perfectly, to always respond correctly, to never struggle again, to never feel emotionally again, but healing doesn't work that way. Growth takes time. Awareness takes time. Change takes time. And sometimes you revisit certain emotions not because you failed, but because you are still growing through them. It can look like being frustrated with yourself emotionally, feeling disappointed after reacting badly, feeling guilty for needing rest, or becoming discouraged because healing feels slower than expected. And in those moments, you forget something important. You are human, you are learning, and you are still becoming. Healing is not about perfection, it's about progress. It's about becoming more aware today than you were yesterday, responding differently, little by little, learning yourself more deeply over time, and allowing yourself grace while you grow. God does not expect perfection from you. He understands process, he understands weakness, he understands growth. That's why his mercy is renewed daily. Because healing happens in layers, and sometimes God is still working in places you cannot fully see yet. You do not have to shame yourself for still healing, you do not have to rush your growth, and you do not have to become perfect overnight to be making progress. Every moment of awareness matters, every step forward matters, even the small ones. Ask yourself, where have I been too hard on myself? And then ask, what would it look like to give myself grace while I grow? Healing is a journey, not a race. And as you continue this process, remember you are growing even on the days it doesn't feel obvious. Be patient with yourself. God still is. Let us close with a prayer. Heavenly Father, help us to give ourselves grace while we heal and grow. Remind us that healing takes time and teach us not to carry shame for still being in process. Give us peace, patience, and understanding through every stage of growth. In Jesus' name, amen. As we continue this season, this is part of a deeper reflection in the journey. Take what you need from it and let it meet you where you are. Thank you for joining me and Roots to Restoration, Faith, Family, and Healing with Marie. Be blessed and continue growing in faith, healing, and restoration one season at a time.
