The Mind of a Disciple Athlete
Join us for today’s Gospel reading and, together with Dr. Morales-Negrón, discover how God’s Word can speak directly into your athletic and performance journey. Inspired by Pope St. John Paul II, we recognize that faith and reason work hand in hand, forming the foundation of a life of excellence. Through the Holy Spirit and our daily encounter with Scripture, we can strengthen our mindset, elevate our performance, and compete with purpose.

The Mind of the Disciple Athlete Reflection - 2.1.26 - Don't Fight the Expectations

In this week’s reflection, Dr. Morales-Negrón challenges athletes and coaches to embrace the responsibility that comes with committing to team standards. Just as Jesus clearly lays out the Beatitudes, great teams establish clear expectations to guide behavior and culture. Excellence is compromised the moment we begin to negotiate those standards for comfort or convenience. If we truly desire to reach our goal, we must resist the urge to deviate and choose daily fidelity to what has been asked of us.
