This morning we are looking at the significance of the resurrection. In our scripture, it will be from the book of 1 Corinthians, chapter 15, verse 3. And he says that for I delivered to you first of all that which I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he rose again on the third day according to the scriptures. And that he was seen by Cephas, and then by the twelve. And after that, he was seen by over 500 brethren at once, of whom a greater part remain to this present day. But some have fallen asleep. After that, he was seen by James and then by all the apostles. Then, last of all, he was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time. The resurrection was not just a historical event, it was verifiable. Now, Paul, in writing to the church at Corinth, was telling them that look at the grades of people who saw the risen Christ. He said he was buried, rose again on the third. He was seen by Peter, and then by the 12. And then he was seen by over 500 brethren at once. You know, so he's telling you that the event didn't happen in a corner. And then maybe three people said he saw the risen Christ. Over five, do you know 500 people? No, sometimes we said 500 people. And he said that a greater number of them were present. As at the time Paul was writing this letter to the church at Corinth, meaning that if you want to verify, the people who saw him were alive. And why was it so important that Jesus spent his time after the resurrection, not showing himself to the world, but to those who believed in him? It's because the resurrection is central to those who believe in him. He could have gone to the city square and shown himself. In fact, he ascended to heaven in the presence of those who believed in him. Because believing Jesus is first the focal point in Christianity. Believe in him. Then, secondly, the encounter with the resurrected Christ. So you realize that all the people that Paul was talking about were believers, those who were followers of Jesus. He said, 500 brethren. The brethren are people who believed in Jesus. Please, I hope you are getting what I'm saying. So you you will see a trend that Jesus was interested in establishing the fact that he had been resurrected from the grave to those who believed in him. Hallelujah. You know, and this because if I was the one who resurrected from the dead, I would have called CNN. I'd have called Al Jazeera, GTV, TV3, for them to see. But you realize that you see, for even those who don't believe in Jesus, even if he appeared to them, they won't believe. Even when he did the miracles, they did not believe. When, you know, he did everything before them. You see, someone who doesn't love you, no matter, even if you become the best person in the world, they can never see your goodness. And so he was not, he was no longer interested in demonstrate. He did the miracles before them. He raised the sick the dead, he healed the sick, he did all these amazing things before them. They never believed. When he resurrected, he was interested in those who believe. Although he died for the world. I pray for you that you will not be one of those who, although you believe in Jesus, don't believe in the resurrection and what it accomplished. Hey, hallelujah. The second scripture for me is from John chapter 20, verse 24. It says that Jesus appeared again to Thomas, who was initially absent. Why did Jesus take so much interest in showing himself? He wanted to remove every day of doubt about his resurrection. So that when he came and Thomas was raising his voice about that, they did not see the Lord until he sees him and all that, Jesus would appear a second time to Thomas, showing himself. Why was that important? Because the visible Jesus was preparing believers for the invisible Jesus. There was an era coming where there will not be a visible Christ, and they will still need to believe. And that's why he had to first appear to them that listen, I'm resurrected. By look, listen to what he told Thomas. You know, he spoke, he said, and he said to him, Thomas, because you have seen, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen yet believe. There is a blessing in believing things that you can't see. I'm telling you. And I pray for you that in this season of your life, you will be shifted to believing in the impossible, believing in the invisible. Some of you, you want to, you know, some of you, as you are seated here, you don't believe in healing. And your actions show it. You don't believe in forgiveness because although you see, all the things that would, you know, establish the era of the risen Christ are not visible. They are not tangible, like forgiveness, like faith, like the church. The church is not a physical thing. This place we meet, we can decide not to meet here next Sunday. But the church will still be there. The the concept of justification, all those things are not tangible things. And Jesus was preparing them for that season where you can hear and believe that the risen Lord had come to visit us, and you don't need to touch him to believe. And Jesus was saying that blessed are those. I believe that you will be part of those people. Where a certain blessing comes into your life by the things you believe. I'm telling you, your whole life is described by the things you believe and the things you don't believe. Because you only chase, you give your attention, your hearts to those things that you believe. Hallelujah. And I pray that you believe the things that make for eternal life. You believe, you know, if if you're not careful, you never believe in prayer. Do you know how we know you don't believe in prayer? You don't pray. Yes. By your actions, we see the things you believe in. Do you know why you are sitting on the chair? It's because somehow you believe it's the four legs are intact. If you believe it was a broken chair, you will never sit on it. So you realize that there are many people who say with their mouth they believe many things, but look at their actions. It tells you the things they really believe. And it says that blessed are those who have not sinned yet believe. I pray that from this Sunday, we when we look into your life, we'll realize that you believe in the power of prayer. The people who say they believe in the power of prayer never pray. A whole week had passed, you've not prayed, and you say you believe in prayer. You say the Holy Spirit is your friend, you don't talk to him. You say you believe in the church of God, you don't serve the church, you don't give to us it, you don't talk about the church, you don't advance it, you don't believe it. And Jesus told Thomas that listen, there is a certain blessing that comes. When you have not seen yet believe. You know, we have a certain blessing without that the disciples didn't have. They saw the physical Jesus, but we who haven't sinned yet are gathered in his name, who have gone through trouble, yet are trusting him, he said there is a blessing that comes upon you. I pray for you that in this season of Easter, the blessing that comes, not seeing things but believing them, will be seen in your life in the name of Jesus. Oh, hallelujah. Then we go to Philippians chapter 3, verse 10. And this is Apostle Paul writing to the church at Philippi, and he said that that I may know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings being conformed to his death. You know, you realize that Paul did not start talking about resurrection power. In many churches across the world today, many pastors who preach about resurrection power and what it accomplished, and I'll talk about it. But you realize that Paul first said that I may know him. Because knowing him is more important than his power. There are many people chasing the power of Jesus who are not interested in knowing him, who are not interested in knowing his heart, who are not interested in knowing his passion. So Paul said that I may know him before the power of his resurrection. There are people who want to raise the dead, there are people who want to see visions, who want to dream dreams, who want to hear the voice of God, who want to have power on display on their lives. And you realize that you will go into fetish practice if you chase power without a desire to know him. I pray for you that this season of Easter and the resurrection, there'll be a renewed passion to know him. To know him. Bible said that he appointed 12 that they might be with him and that he might send them. He's interested in you knowing him, being with him, knowing his heart. It is those who know me who can represent me. And and and I pray for the church across the globe that there'll be a renewed passion to know Christ. There are many people who call themselves Christians who not who don't know Jesus. When we say no, Jesus, you see, um, it's not about living in the same house with Jesus, it's not about being a roommate to Jesus. If you truly know him, you know his words, you know his heart, you know his passion, it reflects in the way you live, it reflects in the way you speak, it reflects in your activities, it reflects in your passions, that I may know him. Before the power of his resurrection and what the resurrection accomplished, is should be a desire to know him. Lift up your right hand and say that that I may know him, that I may know him. Hey, because knowing him superses anything in this life. Knowing him is more important than life itself, it's more treasurable than anything you pursue in this life. Oh, hallelujah. The the the central point of Christianity is a desire to know the reason Christ, to know him. And I pray for you that once you seek his word, as you go into the word of God, it will be a desire to know him, not to walk in power. It will not be a desire for breakthrough. You go to churches today, and everybody is there to know, to get something from God, to pass their exams. People only pray to get something from God. It is not a desire to know God. People don't pray that God, that I may know you. And I pray that on this occasion there will be a renewed passion to know him. Oh, hallelujah! So, what is the power of his resurrection? Ephesians chapter 1, verse 19. And he says that, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power towards us who believe according to the working of his mighty power? Verse 20. Which he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead. Hey, hallelujah! And seated him at the right hand in heavenly places. The power of his resurrection that we are talking about is the power that brought back a dead person, not to die again, but to live forever. Do you know how much power it takes to resurrect a dead person? You are medical people, majority of you. When people die, that's the end. There is nothing you can do. And the Bible said that there was a great power. And you know, the the apex of the power of God is what he accomplished by the resurrection. And he says that that same power is at work in you. Do you know what that means? The power that raised Christ from the dead, never to die again, because Lazarus was raised from the dead, but he died again. We had a burial service for him a few years down the line. But the power that raised Jesus from the dead, and Bible said that seated him at the right hand of God, the place of authority, that same power can sit you at the right side of life. Hallelujah. I pray anything that has put you at the wrong places, anything that has placed you at wrong places in this life, the power that raised Christ from the dead, never to die again, would be at work, would be on display in your life. Hallelujah. It is that power that entered the grave that confronted death. Death is man's arc enemy. The greatest enemy man has is death. Because that's one of the things we've not been able to overcome. That's what ends men. And the Bible said that the power we are talking about entered the grave, confronted death, and defeated death. You see, if that power can defeat death, what is money? What is poverty? What is sickness? What is disease? The power that overcame death can be at work in your life. And I pray for you. You know, today I'm not coming to preach the historical events of the resurrection. That oh, two women went to their grave and he was not there, and an angel. We thank God for the history part of it. I am focusing it on what it accomplished in your life. Why that history was important. So you, I'm not coming to talk about history here. Hallelujah. The history has been established that over 500 brethren saw him alive. And at the time the gospels were being written, and the epistles were being written, majority of them were still alive to testify that it was true. And Bible said that he was declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness by the resurrection from the dead. You see, there is something that declares your stand in life, it takes power. There are many people who are walking around saying they are children of God, and there is no power that accomplishes. Nobody believes it. If you are a child of God, where is the power? Bible said that he was declared to be the what? The son of God with power according to the spirit. I pray for you that your Christian life will not just be dark, it will be backed with power, the power to heal your sicknesses, the power to overcome sin and disease. He was declared to be the son of God with power. May that same power declare you to be a child of God. Many people say they are children of God, but there is no power to accomplish anything. You are still living like an orphan, you are still living like an ordinary person because without power is just mere talk. I pray that that power will saturate everybody in this place. The power of the resurrection, the Bible said, by the spirit of holiness, may that same power distinguish you in this life. May that same power set you apart in this life. May it be obvious that there is something about this guy, there is something about this lady. She is not ordinary, he is not ordinary. May that power that declared Christ to be the Son of God, may that power distinguish you in this life. In the name of Jesus. Oh, hallelujah. Now, what are the workings of the power of his resurrection? Romans chapter 6, verse 6. He says that knowing this, that the old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. This is what the the resurrection accomplished. I'm not I'm not focusing today on the garments that was folded. There are sermons about that, and I have them. I'm saying that knowing this, I pray that you will know this in your life, that the old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with. There is a body of sin, there is a body that produces sin in the lives of men. And the Bible said that by the crucifixion, that body of sin was done away with. That we should no longer be slaves of sin. By the resurrection power, you are no longer slave of any sin that has reigned in your life. Any besetting sin, fornication, masturbation, pornography, whatever besetting sin, lying there may be, that body of sin was done away with by the crucifixion. That we should no longer be slaves of sin. Romans chapter 6, verse 14. It says that for sin shall no longer have dominion over you, for you are no longer under the law, but under grace. The resurrection produced grace. He made available grace for men. Whatever sin is having dominion over your life, from today, there is a declaration. He said, Shall no longer have dominion over you, for you are no longer under the law, but under grace. May you have grace to defeat sin, you know, and the traces of sin and the acts of sin and the effects of sin. Bible said that there is an era of grace which was released by the resurrection. May you receive grace to say no to sin. You know, yesterday I was watching a video of prisoners. Prisoners, you know, people and their stories, why they got into prison. And I realized there was a lady who said she was in the church choir and she went to church every Sunday. Her parents were Christians, her siblings were Christians, they grew up in Sundays because she shot someone. That's what a moment of anger did for her. And you don't know how far you can go. Very good people, you go to Insalam now, you see great people, good people who are there. A moment of indiscretion, a moment of lack of self-control can land you in trouble. So when we say you are no longer under the dominion or the influence of sin, you know, one person said that it was like something came over me. You see, that's when you are under the dominion. And people who make mistakes in this life, mistakes that can land them in trouble forever, it's like something came over you because they are under the dominion over something. But the Bible said that sin shall no longer. You see, sin, that nature of sin shall no longer have dominion over you because you are no longer under the law, but under grace. Hallelujah. Number two, power over death. Second Timothy chapter 1, verse 10. Power over death, and he says that but has now been revealed by the appearance of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and has brought to life life and immortality through the gospel. Hallelujah. He has abolished death. When we say death, we are not talking about physical dying, we are talking about separation from God. The resurrection abolished separation from God. You know, when you take a pack of pizza, you know, or a box, a box of pizza, it's beautiful and it's nice and it smells well for a few days. In fact, if a few hours, you leave it overnight, it begins to smell because it was not made to live by itself. You know, until you put it in a fridge, its lifestyle is cut off. If you take it away from this, the fridge, it dies, it begins to produce worms. Man was not made to live by himself, man was made to live with God, man was made to live in fellowship with God. So sins separated man and man became depraved. You know, all sorts of sins, and by the day we are cooking new sins, we are becoming innovative. See, the lies that we you are about to tell, and if you are not a man who knows God, you cannot tell how far you can go. Because we don't know which kind of worms can come from this pizza until it goes bad. Then you now see all sorts of animals and new creatures coming out from it, not outside it. Sometimes you think that the thing will come from outside it to destroy from it, from the same food you are eating can come out worms. Where did they come from? And the Bible said that he has abolished death and brought life and immortality. I pray for you that this season of the resurrection would abolish any separation from God, anything that separates you from God, anything that separates you from his presence, anything that makes you go bad. And I'm telling you that you will never do anything and ask yourself, Did I do this? It shocks you because this nice jolof that we cook today, if we don't preserve it, it goes bad. God is the preservative for man. So anytime man leaves God, man goes bad. And the Bible said that by the resurrection, he abolished death. That's what we call death. Death is not cessation of life, it is separation from your source. That was what happened to Solomon. He was still the king of Israel, but he was separated from the source of his wisdom. What did he start doing? He built what? Temples for idols. The same man who built the temple for God now builds temple for idols. And the Bible said that his wives took away his heart from God, the source of his wisdom. He died like, you know, after him, the kingdom was separated. David was not a perfect man, but the kingdom was intact when he died. After Solomon and Jeroboam and Rehoboam came, the kingdom was separated because a wise man who was separated from the source of his wisdom became a fool. I pray for you. No matter the money, the wisdom, or whatever you have, may you never be separated from the source of your life. Because whenever you are separated, it's only a matter of time that you wither. You see, last time they came to cut the grass in my house. When you cut the grass, it's still green, but it's been cut. It's been cut. Give it a few hours, a few days, you realize that it begins to dry. And that was what we call death. When it happened, men were still alive. They were still living living 900 years until the first man died, until the first woman died, until it started going down. And I pray for you that what the resurrection of Jesus accomplished, which was to abolish separation, you will not still live in separation from God. You know, there are some of you that the resurrection accomplished it, but you now you want to live away from God. Like the prodigal son. You want to take your loads and travel to a far country and live away. Why? The church is praying. You say you don't want to pray. Why do you want to separate yourself when by the resurrection, death and separation were abolished, and we brought life and immortality through the gospel? I pray for you that you embrace what his resurrection accomplished in your life. He had power over separation from God. Number three, power for new life, Romans chapter 6, verse 4. It says that therefore we were buried with him through baptism into death, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so, we also shall walk in the newness of life. There is a power that you know powers the new life you've been called to. Without that power, you can't live. See how many people know the right thing but cannot do it? How many people know that oh prayer is good, but you can't pray because you see, there is a life, there is a power that powers sin. It's like it's a generator, it generates sin, and there's another power that powers righteousness, and it's by the resurrection from the dead that we can walk in the newness of life. I pray for you that the desire to be to pray, to love God, to please God will be present because their life, there is a life that you know that that the resurrection produced, and I pray that you find that strength. You know, you don't need any motivation to sin because there is power, you know, there is constant power, there is constant supply to lie, to steal, to live a fake life. It's there, you don't need to struggle. A child doesn't need any schooling to start sinning. Very young, though, swear to God that I didn't take it, but they took it because there is a power that is powering that life, but there is another power by the resurrection from the dead. You know, some some of these things I'm saying is some of you should claim it. Claim it, see, believe it, let it consume you, walk out of this door, saying that the resurrection has given me power to pray, power to please God, power to love. But we don't need power to hate. The power to hate is just present by the by the fall of man. But there is another power to love, to love those who are difficult to love. Some of us are we are a project, it is difficult and painful to love you. Like you are not, you are not easy to love, but there is a power that gives you the right to walk in the newness of life. I pray that that power would be activated in your life in the name of Jesus. Number four, power for justification. Romans chapter 4, verse 25. It says that who was delivered up because of our offenses and was raised because of our justification. The reason for his resurrection is for our justification. And I explain justification is when a sinner is declared righteous. It's a declaration, it is not by act, because by act you are a sinner, but by declaration you are right. Hey, hallelujah! Hey, hallelujah! By declaration, the president of Ghana is the commander in chief of the armed forces, not by training, but by declaration. But he's the one who goes to war. Is Donald Trump? He has never been in military training one day of his life, but by declaration of being the president of America, he has become the commander-in-chief without training. The other ones go by merit. Do you get me? They go to the military academy, they carry locks of wood, they go under the i've seen the navy seals, they are training. They go in the river for a long time. They carry locks of wood to swim across. Ah, there's another one who was declared the commander-in-chief and is the one who declares whether they go to war, they they salute him by declaration. He has become much better than them. He has been raised above them. It is difficult for us to believe because some of us want to go through that military training and want to earn it, want to go, want to wear the badge. But you see, President Muhammad wore the military uniform with medals of war that he has never got to. There are generals who never wear it because by declaration he had been declared. He has been declared, he has not lived it, he has not acted it. He was raised for our justification. And that justification is that he is righteous. She is righteous by declaration. That's justification. You are a right man with God, you are a right woman, you have been declared righteous. You know, people think when you say this, people who live in sin, it's liberating. It is supposed to liberate you to live according to your new life. There is a new life, there is a new standard. Stop living like you are on the street. You are a prince, you are a member, you are an ambassador of the kingdom. Take off your old clothes, your dirty clothes, and live according to your new life. You see, we like telling people that they are on the streets, they are dirty, and we love preaching like that. You see, the the most the easiest preaching is to tell people where they are. The difficult preaching is to tell people where they've been placed so that they can live according to their new life. That you are too better, you are better than what you are living now. Yeah, you are better than where you are. Look at look at you, this the son of a king, the the daughter of a king living like this, making these poor choices, giving yourself to people who don't deserve you. The prodigal son just had to come to himself and realize that listen, how many servants in my father's house have enough to eat and to spare? Once I die here of hunger, I would arise and go back to my father's house. He just came to realize that I am better than this. There was no sermon needed, no motivation needed. He just has to realize that I am still a son. I may have made mistakes, but I'm a son. I'm going back to my new place. What he didn't realize was that a ring was waiting for him. What he didn't realize was that a new garment was waiting for him. What did he realize was that there was fists waiting for him. What he didn't realize was that there was a warm embrace waiting for him is to tell you that you've been justified. Is that you have been declared righteous. Stop living in sin. That's it. You are you are better than this thing. You are better than the little lies you are saying. A man justified by the resurrection, a woman justified, declared righteous, not by your works, not by your military training, but by your new position of the president of America or Ghana. You are the commander in chief. I pray for you that you will not take your new position in Christ lightly, you will not take it for granted. What the resurrection accomplished, you would embrace it. You know, that is why we celebrate Jesus, that's why we love him. Bible says that he who has been forgiven much loves much. You love much because you know how what has been done for you. When you see a serious Christian who don't pray, who don't love their church, they don't realize how much has been done for them. And that's why it is my job to tell you that this is what the resurrection accomplished for you. This is what his sacrifice accomplished for you. You are you are you are a son of the kingdom, we are children of the kingdom, we are family with God. Hallelujah. We are with our place is not with the pigs, our place is not in poverty, our place is not in need, it's not in that smelling pigs. Then our place is in the house. You have a place in the kingdom. I pray you rise up and live to that place. Oh, hallelujah! And I've come to the parts that excites me: power over every authority. Ephesians chapter 1, verse 20. It says that let me let me start from here. I said, according, the 19 says that according to the working of his power, which he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead. Wow, and seated him at the right hand in heavenly places, there was a work worked in Christ when he was resurrected, far above principalities. In fact, he says all principalities and power and might and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age. So when a new shrine comes up, it's a name. When they said that there are some in Benin, they said there are some in India, wherever they may be found, every name that is named, whatever the name of that altar is, whatever the name of that demon is, whatever the name of that shrine is, every name that is named, not only in this age, but in the age to come, he has been lifted up above all principality, above all the witches and wizards. You don't live your life again in fear because of the resurrection. 22, 22, oh hallelujah, far above every power, every might, every dominion, and every name, every name which is named, and he has put all things under his feet and gave him to be the head over all things to the church. Hey, I pray for you. How of you still can't enter dark rooms because you are afraid something may be there. Some of you are still afraid of dreams. Whenever dragon, you see, a dragon has a name, the Bible says every name. Some of you are still afraid of snakes. Bible says you step on snakes and scorpions and everything. When they drink any death, do you know what the resurrection accomplished? Listen, have your dreams. Wake up and drink coffee and go about your duty because you know that the head of the church has all things under his feet. We don't live in fear again. Listen, see 15 coffins in your dream. Someone says that when you have a dream and you see a dead body, it's a bad woman. Yes, it may be a bad woman, but that one is also under his feet. It's also under his feet. You can't even receive a prophetic whether your mother who died. You know, that one is also under his feet. He says, All things in this age and the age to come. My job this morning is to let you know what the resurrection accomplished for you. No longer live your life afraid of the witches in your hometown and the altars that the fathers raised and whatever they may have told you before. Know that they have all been placed under his feet. All dominion, all powers. Listen, when you wake up in the morning and you see powder in front of your house, walk through it, knowing that all things are under his feet. Walk. Walk. Christianity, that you are so careful, you can't walk here, you can't walk there, you can't do this, you can't do that. Hey, Bible says that let no man charge you in food or drink. Let no man charge you. Every principality, every power, every dominion. Listen, when you when you dream and you wake up at night, go back to bed, sleep. Sleep, knowing that he who watches over Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps. Knows that you have coverage. You are covered in a blood, you are covered by the resurrection of the Christ. You are covered. Bible says that you have an advocate with the Father. Bible says that he lives forever to make intercession for those who come to God through him. He is praying for you, he is interceding for you, he is vouching for you, he's praying that you succeed. He's out there. Some of you are living your life. Consent those who don't support you, concern those who don't vouch for you. Know that you have one with the Father who is vouching for you, who is raising his hand for you, who is celebrating you, who has stood on his feet and said, Go, girl, go, boy, go do it, go do it, go ahead. I pray for you that your eyes will be open to what the resurrection accomplished. Oh, hallelujah! Accomplished for you. Oh hallelujah. Acts chapter 4, verse 33. It says that, and with great power, the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord. Oh, hallelujah. Now remember that this was the same city with Roman soldiers that killed the Christ. It takes a certain level of power to open your mouth and preach. And some of you are still living in fear. You are afraid of your roommates, you are afraid of your cursmates, of a friend to tell them to come to church. You are afraid. I pray that the boldness that comes with the resurrected Christ and the resurrection power would be activated in your life. You no longer fear face. Some of you are even afraid to share church flyer on your status because you don't want some people to the Bible says with great boldness, they gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them. I pray for you that the grace that comes upon a man or woman to speak boldly about the resurrection. May that grace, oh hallelujah, come upon you. Come upon you, come upon you. How do you experience the power of his resurrection? Number one through faith in Christ, through faith in Christ, John 11, verse 25. Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he may die, he shall live. Listen, all the things I preach today, you have to believe them. If you don't believe them, it will never work. The resurrection may be real, the power of the resurrection may be real, but you will never experience it. I pray that you would have the courage to believe that Jesus is exalted above sickness, above failure, above disease, above poverty. I pray that you would dare to believe that you are a child of God and some things don't apply to your life again. He says that he who believes in me, may you believe in the church of God, may you believe in prayer, and may your actions prove it. Number two, Colossians chapter 3, verse 1. It says that if then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God. If you were raised with Christ, set your mind on things above. It says that those who are resurrected with him, their minds are set on things above. Well, what we mean by setting your mind on things above is like tuning. You see, when you put on the TV, the TV goes to a channel that you were watching before. So maybe to go to GTV. But if they are probably playing the World Cup match on TV3, you have to change the channel. You have to change it. And it says that set your mind. You see, the natural mind is on the things of this world. What would we eat? What would we drink? How would we pass our exams? How would we buy land? How would we marry? When would we marry? How would we fall in love? Who will love us? Hallelujah. Those are the things that the natural mind is set on. My Bible says that if you were raised with him, set your mind on things above and not things on this earth. You would have to tune your mind on the kingdom, tune your mind to think about Jesus, to think about the scriptures, to think about heavenly things, not earthly things. I pray for you that on this occasion of the resurrection, you would experience it because you have set your affection, you have set your mind on things above and not things on this earth. All the things we've preached, you will not experience until you can set your mind. Some of you, your minds will be set on the sickness, it will be set on your current state. Some of you, your minds will be set on the loss, your mind will be set on the failure. But you have to set your mind on things above. How many people are going to set their minds on the things he accomplished for you? You see, at midweek I preached something that Christianity has to be lived in light of the cross. All your sins, your failings, your weakness, put them before the cross. You realize that they are forgiven, they are covered, they are washed, they are cleansed. Whatever gives you sleepless nights, whatever gives you fear of the future, set your mind on the reality. The reality is that you are a child of God, the reality is that you are forgiven. The reality is that you are precious to God. The reality is that even if you were the only sinner, he would have died for you. The reality is that you are so precious to God, you are so loved, hey, that God will do anything for you. Set your mind. Those are the things to set your mind on. You know, when you are sick, you can set your mind on the sickness, or you can set your mind on the fact that he was pierced. Oh, hallelujah! Oh, that by his stripes I am healed. Your mind can be on the reality of divine health than what you are feeling. Many of us set our affections and our minds on the prevailing circumstance. Today, the charge is that set your mind on things above, and the things above are the things that scriptures tells us. Today, I want you to lift up your voice in a minute and declare that my mind is set on heavenly things, that my affection is set on heavenly things, or not, and not the reality of my situation, and not you know the reality of physical things. There is a physical reality of things, and there's another truth. Look at me, some of you don't understand what I'm talking about. There is what appears to be the truth, and then there is the truth. Many of us are living our lives with what appears to be the truth. You know, Athem is too. Yeah, when they set their sail outside the parameters of this earth, their viewpoint was different from when they were on earth. See, when you're on the earth, you say, see, the earth is flat. When you are in the terms too, you realize that it is spherical. It is not flat, it's spherical. The earth is spinning on this axis, it's turning many times per minute. But when you are here, is anything turning? Things are so stable that you don't see that anything is rotating on this asis. Sometimes you are only able to catch a wind of it when you turn small, then you realize that hey, how many people feels that things are turning faster than you? Maybe you just turn small now, they realize hey, you see, there is your reality which is things are, but there is another reality that what you are standing on is turning, but you don't feel it. It's not feelings, it is the reality. If we never went to the moon, we would have never seen the earth rotating on it or what's revolving on its own asis, would have never seen that what has been flat is actually spherical. There is your reality, which is where you are, and there is God's perspective. I pray that from today your perspective will be God's perspective. When they took a camera shot of the earth from Atemis II, we couldn't see the skyscrapers, we couldn't see the nice clothes, we couldn't see the nice Bugatti's and the Rolls Royce and the Mercedes. We couldn't. Many of the things our eyes are set on, when God looks down, He doesn't see them. They are important things to God and they are important things to us. You know, there was no marriage. I'm sure whilst at Tabis 2 was that there was a marriage ceremony going on, we couldn't see it. I'm sure there were children. We in fact we couldn't see any men. Because in the in the grand scheme of things, we are nothing, really. Stop exalting yourself and people and their accomplishments and their A and their B and their C, and you know, they got first class. We thank God for all those things. But in the grand scheme of things, you don't see it when you go up small. You see, when you go up small, I pray that for from this resurrection Sunday, your affections will be set on the things it must be set on. That your perspectives on life will be the God's God's perspectives on things, even in an aeroplane. You don't see all the nice cars and the pavement stones and who owns that part. You know, no nobody's land was seen. You know, the way we can take measuring tape and say this one plot 70 by 100 belongs to me. Where you are There you don't see it because in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter. I pray that our focus would be on the things that truly matter, that we see from above the things that matter at the end of the day. May the resurrection produce in you a heavenly perspective. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
