Be Doers of the Word, Not Hearers Only

Welcome to the Morning Charge. This is your moment to slow down, breathe, and get your spirit aligned before stepping into the day ahead. This is the Morning Charge. This morning, the Lord started speaking to me about being doers of the Word, not just hearers only. I know we we we cover this from time to time very quickly within some of the other teachings that I have thrown your way here on the morning charge. But I thought this morning would be good, and I just felt the Holy Spirit breathing upon this this morning about how we need to be doers of the word and not hearers only. So I begin to search out the word. I begin to look at examples of those that are or that were doers in the word, and they are our guide and our example of what God will do if you will step out and do what He is calling you to do, because it's not it's not enough to just hear the Word or be able to recall it and quote the Word, or heaven forbid the the uh the life we live in now, the culture we live in now, to post the Word. I mean, anybody could go just say, uh give me a scripture on and then copy and paste it, and now you look like you're whatever. All right, anybody can go get whatever and post whatever, but if you're not doing what you're posting or doing what you're quoting or doing what you're hearing, then we've missed the whole point. You can agree with the word on Sunday morning, mm-hmm, amen. Come on, preacher, let's get to it. And then you leave and you did you apply anything that came your way today? Did you do what you saw in the word today? God is now looking for people, and he's always been looking for people who are actually gonna do what he says. The danger in our churches today, it's not always, it's not under, it's not a misunderstanding of the word. The danger is the familiarity of the word without being obedient to the word. A lot of us can we can recall some scripture, and a lot of us recall scripture that I mean really scripture. It's just a good saying. The Lord help us. We've heard so much truth in our lives, and we've heard it, and we've heard it, and we've heard it, and we've heard it, and we've heard it, and we can quote it, and we can quote it in our sleep sometimes. But we've heard so much truth that we can mistake hearing the truth for the transformative power of the truth. We only take it so far. But this is this is transformative. This is supposed to make us walk different and talk different and look different and sound different. And a lot of us just stop at hearing the word, and hearing the word is just the beginning. All right, the word is meant to be lived, it's meant to be consumed, and it's meant to be lived. Just like food, when we eat food, it gives us energy for our bodies. When we consume the word of God, it gives us energy, it gives us strength. We're able to stand upon it. If you don't have anything to stand upon, then you're just kind of just, you know, you're just you're rocky. You're like uh an unstable man. I mean, because you're double-minded. Double-minded. Glory to God. So if we look at James, I mean, we have to go to James 1 and 22 first, because this is this is what is this is based upon this morning. James 1 and 22, it says, Don't just, this is the passion, okay? Don't just listen to the word of truth and not respond to it. The voice of truth, that was a good request this morning, by the way. Tells me a different story. So many times we've heard the word, that's casting crowns song. We see these giants in front of us, and the voice of truth tells us a different story. But we've only heard it, we haven't begun to act it out. So don't just listen to the word of truth and not respond to it, for that is the essence of self-deception. So always let his word become like poetry written and fulfilled by your life. The vo this verse right here is very direct, it is straightforward, and it is what it is. Be a doer of the word, not only a hearer of the word. It does not say that hearing the word is bad. What it is saying here is that hearing the word without doing it leads to self-deception. That means you you you you're deceiving, you're deceiving yourselves if you think this is all just supposed to be head knowledge. You gotta remember there were cultures and and places like Corinth where they were very smart here. They couldn't get to here. They were very smart here. All right, so they had to break down some barriers with their smarts and they had to actually begin to walk out. Okay, what Jesus said to walk out. And then if you take this a step further, all right, we read 23 through 25. It says, if you listen to the word and don't live out the message you hear, you become like the person who looks in the mirror of the word to discover the reflection of his face in the beginning. Okay, well, well, that's a good place to start. Looking in the mirror is a great place to start. You perceive how God sees you in the mirror of the word. But then you go out away from the mirror, you you put your Bible down and go on about your day and forget your divine origin, where it began, where it started. But those who set their gaze deeply into the perfecting law of liberty are fascinated by the by and respond to the truth they hear and are strengthened by it. They experience God's blessing in all that they do. Did you there was a promise that came along with that? Did you hear that? Let's go back again. Those who set their gaze deeply into the perfecting law of liberty, the perfecting law of liberty, all right, the royal law of love or the law of liberty. They're fascinated by and respond to the truth they hear and are strengthened by the truth that they hear, and then they experience God's blessing in all that they do as you walk out God's words in your life. God never called us to just admire the word. Ooh, this is so good. Man, did you hear all the stories in here about all these people and how they lived in faith? God never called us to admire the word, admire the people who walked out the word in the Bible. He is calling us to obey it just like all of them, just like all of these people obeyed the word, and we see the blessings. They obeyed, and there's blessings, they obeyed, and there's blessings, they obeyed, and there's blessings. And you got to remember in the garden, Adam and Eve at one point did not obey, and there was no blessings. The curse of sin entered all of humanity, and then he had to send his one and only son, to one alive on that cross for our sins, to bring us back into proper order and walking our way back to the garden to start this over again. He was our redeeming, saving grace. We talked about the blood of Jesus on Friday. There is a seriousness about understanding the blood of Jesus in this hour. We must get it. We must read it, we must understand it. We got to get it etched in our heart all the way down to our feet to walk out what Jesus has done for us. There are a lot of Christians who are still reading this and saying, oh, this is nice, and they're still living a life full of sorrow, full of grief, full of doubt, full of hurts, full of pains, full of wounds. But yet this tells us everything we need to know to live such a free life. This is not a rule book. This is not a book of rules. It's not something to thump people over the head with. This is the living, breathing word of God, which means it is the same as it was yesterday, today, and forever, just like God Himself, to be able to us to read in our culture today, apply its principles, and also live a life of freedom. When are we going to understand that this this thing is alive? This thing is alive. And what's funny is it's printed upon pages that was once a tree. You got to think where paper comes from. This was this was printed upon something that used to be a tree, which was also living and breathing. I don't know, I don't know where this particular tree lived, but at one point it was a it was a living, breathing thing that God had planted there. And then and then it was chopped down and it was used to for who knows what all it was used for, but I know it was used for the pages that are in this thing right here. Living, breathing. That brings on a different connotation. The living, breathing word of God, even the book I hold in my hands. We have a lot of people who are sitting in pews and they're warming the church seats every weekend, and they are inspired by the truth. There's a lot of people who might jump on the morning charge or listen to the podcast or whatever, and they're inspired by the truth, but but they're still not transformed by the truth. That is the point that I try to drive home every day, every podcast, every stream, everything that I put out there. I'm trying to say this transforms you, this so you don't have to live where you have been living. You have to gain a different perspective. He wants to take you up higher so you can see from a kingdom heavenly perspective. That's it, Paul. Good morning, by the way. And I know I've got a message waiting on me that I need to go check. Brandy's already reminded me, so I will do that as soon as this is over. But yes, you got to take what you hear and you must respond to what you have heard. There's see, there's people that are moved in the moment, and then they they they they they have an unchanged walk in their life. Ooh, that feels so good. I feel the goosebumps of the Lord on me today. Well, it's not just a moment with God, it's what you do when you get up and you begin to move. And James says uh that that that kind of hearing is dangerous when we only just hear it, or we only just have those moments because it it deceives you into thinking that exposure equals obedience. And this word will begin to expose some things in your life, but unless you take action with the Lord to be able to get those things out and begin to see things differently, that is dangerous waters. You could hear the truth every day and still stay stuck exactly where you are if you never do what the truth requires you to do. Amen. Happy go lucky. First and foremost, I always give the the example of what version are you reading? Because I sometimes King James is it can be extremely hard to understand. New King James, it can still be a little difficult, but it's a little more clear. All right, you have other different translations. I just, and a lot of people, a lot of people beat me up over that. Don't send people to the passion. Don't send if somebody has a version of the Bible they don't understand, would you rather them keep that and try to keep not understanding it or get something that's in plain English and have a place to start so they begin to get the revelations of the Lord, and then once they start getting the revelations of the Lord through his word, because they can understand the English that they're reading or whatever language they have, then they can move on to something else and they can begin to see maybe some other pieces to the puzzle. See, this is a walking out thing, not a beating you over the head because you don't have a certain particular particular version of the Bible. Amen. Nikki, you got an ant that you uh used to read the teenage Bible, see? Whatever you gotta get your hands on to understand it. This is the path. Well, you can't see it. I've had this a long time. I rubbed all the ink off the side of it. Uh, yeah, the new living translation is another wonderful version to read. The passion translation, I love it. I love the expressions that are in it about the Lord. I read them all. I got them. Well, you want them, we got them. But the Passion and New Living Translation is also good too. Amen. But get one of those. All right, and then start in the book of John. Get in the gospel of John, really learn about Jesus, who he was, how he walked, how he talked, what he did, all the things that we discuss in here. Understand the blood of Jesus, what that means. That's it, Paul. Start with the milk and then move on to the steak. Amen. But you gotta start on the milk. I can't give steak to Annalise right now. All right? She's she's in that transition, coming off the bottle into other solid foods, but she's not quite ready for steak. If I give her steak right now, she's going to choke. Because she wasn't ready for that. Start somewhere with something that you can put your hands on. Because, I mean, otherwise you're just hearing and I don't know what I just heard or what I just read, but okay, Lord. And then when you sit down to read your word and you open it, say, Lord, give me revelation of this today. Lord, I love you and I want to understand your word. I want to understand this life. I want to understand how to walk and talk better. And do this life, Lord, the way that you have designed it. That's just it. And remember, it's a relationship thing. Even reading your word. Amen. And we're thankful you're here, happy go lucky, and all of you guys this morning. So let's look at a few key points and some let's look at some folks in the word that we're doers. Let's let's do that. If I hop over to Genesis, and now I am in the New King James, if I go to Genesis chapter 6, starting down in verse 13, we see an interesting story taking place. I mean, according to the book, we haven't got very far in, and humanity has fell apart. But starting in Genesis six and thirteen, it says, And God said to Noah, the end of all flesh has come before me, for the earth is filled with violence through them. And behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make yourself an ark of gopher wood, make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch. And this is how you shall make it. The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits. Blah, and then da-da-da. We could go through the whole story. All right. But but the Lord begins to give Noah the downloads. See, when God starts speaking to you, God says to Noah, hey, there's a situation and there's a thing that's going on. Here's what I want you to do. And he didn't just say, I want you to go build an ark, and your family and some animals need to get on it, go to it. No, no, no. He began to say, I want you to make it out of this type of wood, and I want you to put, make different rooms in there, and I want you to cover it with a certain material, and then I want it to be this long and this high and this wide, and you're going to make a window for the ark, and you're going to finish it, and you're going to set a door in its side. And do you notice what God did with, I mean, when and Noah was one that spent time with the Lord. Noah was not a perfect man either, by the way. We were having a conversation with a friend the other day about all these imperfect people that God used. And here we are wanting to try to make our life look like we're got it all together, and God's only going to move if we got it all together. And God wants to use his people, and God wants to give you, he's given all of us a purpose. It's a matter of walking out. Noah, I mean, he was a drunk, for goodness sakes, okay? And God said, Hey man, here's what I need you to do. But he did, but but Noah spent time with the Lord. He understood the Lord, he walked with the Lord, he talked with the Lord, and God was able to have that relationship. Hello? He had a relationship with God where he could hear God's voice clearly. So the Lord was able to give him the blueprints. There was not a whole lot of people in this culture here that was listening. Okay. Now we got a lot of people that listen and we don't do nothing. But this was lots of destruction in the world going on here. Nobody was even listening. I mean, if you go right before this, with the the genealogy of Noah, Noah was a just man. He's perfect, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God. The earth was corrupt. So see, since Noah walked with God, he was able to give him these downloads and not just say, Go build a boat, but give him exact dimensions of how and what and and and all the things, okay? But I want to get down here to verse 22. So we're doing all this. Do do do the Lord's talking to him, and then what animals to put on there and everything. But in verse 22, he says, Thus Noah did, according to all that God commanded him, so he did. He did. All right. He didn't hear what God. And I want to I want I want to just be a hundred percent transparent with you this morning. The Lord had spoken three specific things to me over the past couple of months that I wrote down in my journal. I have not done or even went back and looked at those three specific things that the Lord wanted me to do. And two of the three was a daily thing. And sometimes we go through life and we're like, Lord, I don't hear, like I'm not, I'm not hearing anything new. I'm not hearing anything. And the Lord says, Well, what about this? And I was like, Oh, oh, I wrote that down. He said, Yeah, and what about this? And I was like, oh, I wrote that down too. He said, and then what about? I mean, he piled three things on me, boom, boom, boom, this morning. And I went, oh my gosh. Here I am. I'm expecting God to speak to me more. And I haven't done those three things that he showed me. Two of, or I'm sorry, one of which had a little bit of a timeline on it, which I have missed a month. I'm just being transparent. I don't have it all together, y'all. I'm not some superhuman. We got to stop lifting up the the the teachers and the pastors and the people that he puts in your life. Stop putting them so far up on a pedestal like they've got it all together. And then when they fall, they fall so hard you're pointing the righteous finger at them, forgetting that you have three that are pointing back at you. Hello. But yeah, God got a hold of me this morning about very things that I've written down that I need to take action on. I got I had to I had a little moment of repentance this morning for not doing those things. Because the word here says that Noah did. According to all that God commanded him, so he did. I mean, that one verse said Noah did twice. Noah did, so he did. Everything God commanded him. Oh, okay. So if there's some things that God has commanded of you, some things that the Lord has spoken to you that you haven't done anything about, come on. Heard, listen, done it. That that's the thing. That's the thing, man. It's it's like the it's like the old slogan, be, do, have. Be, do, have. If you want to have anything, you gotta do some things, but you gotta be. You gotta be up here and hear what needs to who you need to be so that you can do so that you can have. The thing is, a lot of people wanna wanna try to just listen and come up with the perfect plan and do it the perfect way, and if it ain't gonna be perfect, they ain't gonna do it. You gotta step out and start doing something. You have to step out and start doing some things. You gotta you gotta put one foot in front of the other because if you never leave the house, Abraham, Abraham, if you never leave the house, you'll never get to the land of which I promise. Some things you've got to do. And God told Noah what was what was gonna happen and that he needed him to build the heart, the ark. And now Noah could have said, I received that word, Lord. Oh my gosh, how many times have we said that? Oh, I received that word. You got a prophetic word, or the pastor said something good, or you know, it's like, whoa, I received that. Glory to God. Okay, you received it. What are you gonna do with what you have received? I mean, Sherry sent me a tiny diny. Okay. Yay, I have tiny diny. Well, I mean, he could always sit over here. I could have never shared him. I could have never, if I mean, I'm just an awful example, but you gotta do something with what you have. Do something with what you have. But Noah could have just said, I received that word. I received that word and never done anything. Or, oh Lord, that is powerful. Woo, that is powerful stuff right there. Going to end all of humanity need me to build, you know, need someone to build a big boat, my my my. But the belief in what God said was proved through the building of the ark that God said go build. That was the proof of doing what God said to do. And think about, oh Brandy, that's that's good right there. See, she should be teaching this morning. Think about all the judgment that came to Noah. Oh, yeah, people mocked him, remember? It's like, oh, it's never rained before. This crazy old man is over here building this boat. I mean, he is out there by himself building the boat. It's never rained. And then if you skip on into Hebrews 11, 11 and 7, that's where it says, By faith, Noah, by faith, Noah being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, and prepared an ark. See, that's the deal. We got to get back to that. We got to get back to that uh that the holy fear, the fear of the Lord. Okay, we have the fears that come with us in life. All right, the fear of the Lord is not actual fear. The fear of the Lord translates out to be the awe and wonder and the reverence and putting God where he belongs in your life. Lord, I'm putting you back at the center of things again. I hear you, and I'm moving with you. That is by faith doing what God said to do. He was warned of things that were not yet seen, the end of humanity. Yeah, three generations were taught that he was nuts until the rain came. That's right, apostle. Three generations were taught this guy right here is Looney Tunes. You see the size of that thing. But when the rain came, the mocking ceased. Uh-oh. Real faith doesn't just agree with, oh, that was a good word, or yeah, I'm telling you, that's what you just said. Something needs to be done about that. A lot of people stop there. And then you don't do anything about what needed to be done. You're not a part of anything that needed to be done. You just thought, oh, yeah, someone, someone needs to do that. Brandy says, there's no telling how many people judge us. That's not God. You took your family and you're living in an RV and you're traveling and you're like, you know, you know, you should have a steady and you should be. What? My family's closer now than we've ever been. My family is closer now than when we lived in a house and and when some of the kids went to school and all the different things. We're closer now than we've ever been our whole entire lives. So don't be, you know what I'm saying? A lot of people have different perspectives about things. Now, not everybody now let's let's talk about this for a minute. Not everybody is called to do what we're doing. That would be like me looking and judging, well, they ain't free because they ain't. Well, who am I? Why would I ever say that? Because they're not living the way that I live. All I know about life is what God has spoken to us and what he has said to do. I have to steward that well. There's been so, you know, you know how many, you know how many years I went just doing what I wanted to do? I loved the Lord. I went to church, I did, I did things and helped in the in the in the church however I could, but not divinely doing exactly what it was that God had called me to do. I went years missing, I don't know what, but God is, he is sovereign and he is good and he is merciful. And when you begin to step out and do the things he is calling you to do, then you begin to see a shift and you begin to see, you begin to see things happen in your life you never thought you would ever see. But you have to be willing to step out of the boat and keep your eyes on him because it is a faith walk. That's that's exactly what I mean. Noah stepped out in faith and did the things that he did. Even the people that said, You're gonna fail. Don't what are you doing that for? You're wasting your time. And up to this point, I mean, Brandy said it, up to this point, it had never rained before. They'd never seen rain. But uh oh. Yeah, he could have stayed in fear of the fear of man. So maybe this is not God. Maybe I am goofy. I mean, it never has done anything. I mean, we've never seen that before, so maybe that maybe that's just me being crazy. You know what I'm saying? How many people have said that? Ah, that's just me thinking crazy. I'm not doing that. Are you willing to obey him before you see? Are you willing to do that? Can you can you build before it makes sense? Anybody? Can you can you build before it makes sense? Can you move forward with something before you see it? Can you can you move on what God has said before there's any outward proof? I mean, because Noah did. Noah did. I didn't know what this journey would look like in an RV with the kids and all of this and the things. And I mean, we still have our cleaning company in Pensacola and then, you know, trying to plant one here and and and all the things that God has given us to steward. And then, you know, I mean, it's like I all I knew is that here's what the Lord is saying. So we need to step out and we just need to begin to do what God is saying, do. That's that's all I have. And a lot of people are like, well, that's is that all that's all you have? You just you you you heard now. See, a lot of people say, Oh, you heard from God. Yes. I have that type of relationship with the, I mean, he sent our his Holy Spirit as a guide for me. Jesus came and he was the glue for us between our relationship and the Lord. Adam walked with the Lord in the cool of the day, walking and talking with the Lord. Hello? That's why Jesus came to help restore us with that type of relationship. Yes, I do. Yeah. And apostle, when you know his voice, that's all you need. And I can say, as you begin to step out and do the things that you're feeling the Lord call you to do, as you do those things and you see him move in the midst of that, you go, ooh, that was his voice. And then you begin to recognize his voice. It's a relationship, it's an everyday walking out thing. It's an everyday walk it out kind of thing. I mean, Abraham was the next one. He didn't just hear the call of the Lord, he went when God said to go. And we see that in Genesis 12, 1 through 4. That's where God told Abraham to leave his country, his family, all the things, all the comforts and everything, and go to the land that God would show him. All right, and verse 4 says, So Abraham departed as the Lord had spoken to him. Once again, we see a doer, not just a hearer. Abraham departed as the Lord had spoken. So the Lord spoke, Abraham departed. Simple, clean, but yet such a powerful word for us. Hebrews 11 and 8 says, by faith. Remember, that's our faith chapter. By faith, Abraham obeyed what he was called to do. When he was called, he obeyed. Obedience often begins before full understanding. Obedience in your life begins before you understand everything fully. That's why I say you have to take a step towards God. God's called you to start that business. Well, it's not going to start itself, and you're scared about what it looks like, and and you know, paying all the things you gotta pay and filing all the things you gotta file, and I don't have a this and we don't have of that, and I don't. Excuse, excuse, excuse. God said, if God said you need to start that thing, or God said you need to do that thing, then you just have to trust him. I mean, Abraham did not get a map. It didn't say in the word. I mean, I did not see in that story anywhere where where the Lord had spoken to him and said, I need you to leave here. All right, now I'm going to give you a map, and I have circled in read the city that I want you to go to, okay? And then so I want you to take this road, all right, and then when you get here, see what happens is God gives you enough so that you have to take a first step and you have to trust him. If you're learning to trust the very one that created you and knows everything about you, he will give you just enough so that you can take a step. And until you take a step, there is no further instructions. Or at least that's the way it's been for me. Because I had to learn how to hear his voice and to step, and then hear his voice again and step. Abraham didn't get a map, he didn't get the full blueprint of what was going on here. He got a word. He moved on the word, he left the house. A hearer would say, Well, that sounds like God. Yeah, it sounds like God. Yeah, maybe. A doer says, I hear you, Lord. I guess I better go. And then they put on their boots and they leave. What about Moses? Moses didn't just encounter God, Moses went back to Egypt. Not a very easy thing to do. And we see this whole story through Exodus chapter three and four. Go read it on your own time. But see, Moses, Moses encountered God at the burning bush. All right. So he had that encounter. That's great. He heard the voice of the Lord, burning bush. That's how God wanted to speak to him. Fantastic. If all he did was just heard it and didn't do anything, I mean, that kind of would have been a real bad. I mean, God would have to find somebody else, obviously, and we wouldn't have been reading about Moses. But but here's the deal: Moses heard, and then the real proof was what he did after the fact. What did he do? He went into Egypt. He did what? He stood before Pharaoh. And then he obeyed in the face of fear, like he wanted to go talk to Pharaoh. This could be the end of me. This could be it. Like, I like why does he want to hear from me? Ooh, this is not good. This could go very badly for me. But he faced fear and he went in and he did what God told him to do. Exodus 4 and 20 says, Then Moses took his wife and his sons and set them on a donkey, and he returned to the land of Egypt. See, a real encounter with God will eventually require action upon your part. If you want to have a real encounter with the Lord, you're eventually going to have to take action on something. There's a lot of people, you have your, you have your your your your your burning bush moment. You've heard the Lord loud and clear. I mean, maybe even put a few fleeces out to see, okay, Lord, well, if I'm going to do that, well, maybe this. I mean, now you're bargaining with God and you're trying to figure things. See, the thing is we're trying to figure things out. We're trying to figure it out, you're trying to figure it out. Stop trying to figure it out. That's where a lot of people with these questions and these things that they have is because you're trying to understand everything from here. But I can tell you, walking with the Lord goes, it goes beyond this. You can read the word and you and the Lord can bring you revelation and understanding, but that is so that you begin to walk things out. This is not based upon worldly cultural views of things, which is why a lot of people can't understand why you're living the way you're living and who's this Jesus and why are you walking things out. You can't really expect them to understand in the frame of mind they're in. See, there's a lot of arguments that you've been having that are not yours to have at the moment because they will not understand and they do not understand until they have their breaking point with the Lord. There are some discussions you can have with people, and you can be blue in the face trying to have that discussion. But if they're coming from wrong motives and the wrong heart posture and they don't there, it's so far into the world, all you can do is sow the seas and be like, you know what? I just want you to know Jesus loves you. Jesus loves you. And I just pray that he begins to do a work in your life. You have to end it, you've got to end the conversation, land the plane sometimes, because they're not in the place to understand. But if you're in a place where you're walking with the Lord, you're talking with the Lord, you're trying to understand his ways, then you've got to start, uh, you've got to start stepping out in faith. A lot of people hear God, but you don't carry out the assignment that's behind it. See, Moses wasn't just stirred up in that moment with the goosebumps and whoo, that was a powerful moment. I'm gonna tell everybody about this moment. Man, this bush caught on fire and God was talking to me, and now wow, it was a powerful moment. What? No. He understood that he was being sent and he went and did what God said to go do. And then Joshua, a little further on down the line, he didn't just receive a promise. Joshua is one that had to step forward. Joshua 1, 1 through 9, we see the whole story. But God told Joshua multiple times, be strong and of good courage. He was always telling Joshua that, be strong and of good courage. Why would God continually tell him that through this particular story or this, this, uh, this oh mission. This particular mission. I was like, wait, wait, wait, there's a word I'm going with. Because hearing the promise was not enough. He had to lead the people into the promise. Joshua had to step on the scene and then lead the people in. Joshua immediately commanded the officers of the people to prepare. You need to prepare. You need to prepare. He didn't just sit on the word that God gave him, he acted upon it. And then they were able to march in and do what needed to be done to take the land. Doers do not just celebrate the promises, the promises of God. They prepare. If you're going to be a doer, you've heard and now you start to prepare. All right. Like I've been, I always do that. I mean, I use business as a thing because that's just what Brandy and I do. But God's told you to start that business. Well, you can't just say, woo, it's coming, and I see the promises of the Lord, and I see what solution we can bring to people or how we can do things, and this is great. Yay! Doers, when you get the download, you say, Lord, what's my next step? Well, you got to file some paperwork, you got to open the bank accounts, you got to get the structure going, you need to tell people about the business, you need to get things set in place, you need a good system. There's things that you need to start preparing to put into place, and then allow the Lord to massage it as you go. This is a partnership. God is the true CEO of our businesses. I am the one that He has stewarded, has put placed in my hands so I can steward the businesses. But I always consult him every day on things. Here's where we are, here's where things are at. What are we doing? How are we doing? What do I need to do today? Help me with what my step needs to be today. All right, don't get overwhelmed. But you need to start putting feet behind what God has said. You need to prepare for what is coming on the horizon. Some people say they believe God for more. Oh Lord, I want the increase. I want the more. And we're shouting and we're singing and we're, yes, Lord, bring it. Yes, yes, yes, Lord. But they're not preparing for the more to be able to come. Ooh, there's action on your part. There's action on my part. If you want the more of the Lord, then you need to prepare for the more. That goes back to a lot of things that we have talked about in here. If you got some things you need to get rid of, get rid of those things. You ain't used it in five years, even one year, even six months, whatever. I'm going to put this over here, maybe we'll use it one day, or I'm going to put this over here, and maybe we'll use it one day. Well, there's somebody who needs it today, and until you release some of the things that you'll need one day to the person who needs it today, then how is God going to bring you what you need today? If we all had that mentality, a lot of us would not be in such lack. And that would be the that would be a kingdom-minded thing to do, to be able to give. And then God can bring around what it is you need. Give people what they need, you get what you need. It's like a revolving thing, and you can't outgive the Lord. Alright, so just try it sometime. But Joshua's one that heard and he began to move. And then we look at we can look at Ruth. Ruth. She she really lived out this life with the Lord. You can go to Ruth, chapter 1, 16 and 17, but this is, you know, Ruth told Naomi, where you go, I go. This is powerful. And the beauty is that Ruth, Ruth did not just stop at saying that. She didn't say that with this with just good intentions. Hey, where you go, I'll go. It sounds great, don't it? Where you're going, I'm going. No, no, no. She walked that out because she knew there would be a blessing that would come with going where Naomi was going. I mean, she left Moab, she followed Naomi, she worked in the fields, she stayed faithful, and then it brought her blessing. Faithfulness is proven in just very in very ordinary obedience. That is where faithfulness is proven. In the in the little things, because that didn't look like much. I'm gonna stick with you where you go, I go. But it led her right to the promise. Ruth, I mean, this is a very powerful example because I mean she she was she was living loyalty and humility and and diligence, and she was walking out her faith in the midst of this journey. See, sometimes being a doer of the word, it doesn't look like this the big gigantic thing. Like, oh, well, they really must be. No, no, no. Sometimes just being a doer of the word is just being consistent with things and following through with things that you say and and and keeping your integrity about yourself. You do what you say you'll do. It's about having obedience in the little things and what God has spoken to you today. What has he told you to do today? Maybe he told you to give somebody a dollar, maybe he told you to do this or that or whatever it is. Be obedient in the everyday things, and eventually it will lead you to your promise. We've talked about David. He didn't just talk about covenant with God, he formed a real covenant with God, and he slayed the giant and eventually became king. David, he was one that did. Little shepherd boy out in the field. He could have always been the shepherd boy. I'm overlooked and nobody likes me, and you know, I'm I'm the one that nobody cares about, and they stick me out in the field. But there was something on the inside of him, and the Lord said, That is my chosen one. And he began to understand who he was and whose he was. And he walked out some very miraculous things. Did not have the most perfect life. He had some downfalls. So stop beating yourself up like, well, God will pick other perfect people. There's no perfect people out here. I mean, we all have a uh we've all have have had sin in our life, we've all had a past. But God is the God of restoration. What are you going to do with now, today, for the rest of your life? You don't have to carry your past into today and the rest of your life. You can drop all that baggage right now, and Jesus will take that. And he's holding his hand out saying, Why don't you come with me? Because I have a much better way for you. I have better things. I have greater things for you to do and things for you to accomplish. But once again, you got to get the realization, the concepts of this thing. Begin to walk these things out. Esther didn't just feel burdened. Esther was one that risked her obedience. In Esther 4, 14 through 16, we see where Mordecai challenged Esther with the moment that she was in. And Esther's answer was not just an emotional agreement in the moment. See, in verse 16, she said, I will go to the king, and if I perish, I perish. That was a really bold statement. I'm going to go to the king, and if I perish, I'm going to perish. All right, being a doer of the word often means courage under great pressure. Are you still going to do what God has called you to do, even if you're under great pressure in your life? All right, Esther could have just stayed, she could have stayed silent. I mean, she could have stayed in her safe little bubble. Okay, I know things will be good if I stay here. I'm comfortable, but she decided to act. And some of you that are listening right now today are in moments where silence seems to be the easier way. Just not doing it, or maybe we'll do it in a year or six months or maybe five years. Well, you know, that's off in the future. You know, that that right there just seems to be a whole lot easier. Where I'm at right now is comfortable. Things are easy, things are going well. Why would I want to shake any of this up? You know, that's got to be crazy talk. I'm thinking I should step out and do this. But when God speaks to you, he is calling forth action in your life. There's nothing wrong with working hard and doing well for yourself and living this life and blessing other people and all the good things. There's a we uh lots of us live life of just a lot of good things. But I want to be more about the God things in life at this point. What what what can I do for you today, Lord? How how can we do things, Lord, to be better in this area and that area, Lord? And and how do we keep you at the forefront in this situation? How should I respond to this? That's why we got to call forth his word in our life every day and then begin to stand upon it. You can look at Mary in the Bible, Jesus' earthly mama. Mary didn't just receive the word. She yielded to that word that she was going to birth the Savior. It was kind of a weighty thing to walk through. Peter didn't just admire Jesus. He actually stepped out of the boat. He could have seen Jesus be like, Yeah, we see you over there. You're walking on the water. That's great. The woman with the issue of blood was another one. You see that Mark V. She didn't just believe that healing was possible, but she pressed through into her healing and took action upon Jesus actually healing her. And then we look at Acts 2. The early church didn't just receive the Holy Spirit, but they received it and then lived their lives boldly by being led and led and guided by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit came. And then they preached, they prayed, they broke bread together, they shared with one another, they endured life with one another. They went out and spread the gospel at all cost. They continued steadfastly, is what the word says. See, spirit-filled people are meant to be action-filled people. If you're spirit-filled, you're supposed to be taking action upon the things that God is talking about. I mean, and Jesus himself, honestly, was our number one example of a doer. God in flesh himself. If we're going to talk about doers of the word, I mean, we've got to we've got to talk about Jesus. Jesus didn't just teach us to be obedient and to walk in obedience, but he lived it out so he could be our example. And John 4, 34, my food is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. I want to do everything that he has sent me to do and finish well. Philippians 2 and 8, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of unalivingness, even the unalivingness of the cross. Jesus did what he saw the Father do, and he he he prayed what needed to be prayed. He spoke what the Father was saying. He was listening. He was watching. He was walking his life out. He obeyed the Father completely. And he's our highest example of life fully walked out. Jesus didn't just preach the way. Jesus showed us the way. Jesus walked the way. So, so there's a few examples of people that were doers of the word and not just hearers of the word. Are we are we too going to be those that are doers of the word and not just hearer, hearers of the word? I mean, this is a challenge for us this morning. This is to challenge us to step up a rise and begin to do what needs to be done. All right, don't just be inspired by Noah. You need to get out here and build what God is saying to build. You don't just need to admire Abraham. There's somebody that needs to go to the land in which God has been, uh which God is going to show you, or maybe he has been showing you. He wants you to get to that place, but it's up to you to form the plan and get to the place. So you need to build it. You need to go to it. I mean, don't just respect Moses. All right. You need to return to the place that God is sending you. Maybe he's sending you back to a place for a season to bring some deliverance or do some things. Amen. All right. Don't just look at Joshua either. It's just another great story that we read, but be one that actually that actually uh prepares for the promise. What are you doing on your part today? All of these stories that we have gone through. David and Goliath again. Esther risking obedience. Peter stepping out of the boat. Those that press through and press in for their healing, just like the woman with the issue of blood. There is action that has to be done on your part to be able to get to the places and see the things fulfilled in your life that you want to see fulfilled that God has promised you. Kara, that's it. You got to be obedient. It is worth the cost. There's a cost. We talked about this the other day. There's a cost in doing what he said to do, and there's a cost in not doing what he said to do. Either way, there's a cost. I would rather just step on out and say, I know you're going to do it, Lord, than I would just stay right where I'm at. Because that cost can be far, far greater than the one of obedience. Step out in obedience. The word is not meant to stop here. Ooh, we heard it. What we just talked about this morning should not stop at just I heard it today. Ooh, another great teaching on the morning charge. It was so great. No, no. The things that we say should make our feet do something today. It should make our hands grab a hold of something today. It should, it should make our mouth begin to speak differently today about our situations and our things. It should make our habits begin to change. The way you look at things, your priorities need to shift. Your schedules need to maybe need to get a little more clear. Your home needs to come back into order. Your own personal daily walk with Jesus needs to come, needs to come back to the forefront. But that requires action on your part to see those things. Those are life principles. All summed up into one little thing. Be, do, have. But so many people want the have. They don't want to be in the do. Or a lot of people do. It's just like getting gym membership because you need to you need to get on that diet and get on the high horse of the working out. And then you have one or two good weeks, and then you stop going and you're back into your slump again. Well, you tried to do, but you didn't be who you needed to be so that you could do what needed to be done, so then you could have what needed to be had. Start with being. Understand who you are and whose you are. And then once you get that and your mindset is correct, now you can go do. Prepare, prepare, prepare, and then go forth and do so that you can have today. Amen. Tasha, thank you for that, my friend. Well, Lord, I thank you for this word. Lord, I thank you for your holy word that changes, that changes our lives. I thank you for your word that is transformative, that, that, that, that it teaches us about uh about what happens, Lord, when we walk out, Father, the things that you've called us to walk out. I thank you for your word. But Father, I just I don't want it to stop at just hearing. Lord, I want to, I want to, I want, I want it to continue on down, travel on down to my feet. So I'm so I'm able to walk out the word. Walk out your word. Walk out uh the plans and things that you have for my life that I've written down in this journal, Lord, as I spend time with you, Lord, daily. Father, I want to be able to put feet to all the things that you have, Lord. Father, show us today what we need to rearrange in our schedules. Show us today what it is we need to get rid of to clear the clutter in our lives. Father, show us today how we need to prepare, Lord, to be able to receive what it is that you have for us. Lord, we want to live differently. I don't want to just admire your word. I want to, I want to obey it today. Forgive us, Lord, for the places where we have loved your truth, but we have not lived it. See, that's just that mode of repentance where he begins to bring things up and things begin to bubble up. You just have to say, Lord, forgive me for not living and walking out this life the way that you have called me to do it. Lord, Lord, forgive me for the places where where I have delayed your obedience and I have not been obedient to step into it because I pushed it off to one day because now wasn't a good time. Father, Lord, show me how we can do this. Show me what I got to release so I can step into this. Show me what I can do right now, Lord, so that I can help me prepare. Father, forgive us for just mistaking hearing for transformation, Lord. And I and I haven't done anything on my part. Lord, stir us, stir us about the people, the examples that we read through your word today, through through Noah and Abraham and Moses and Joshua on down, Lord, to Jesus. Make us people who actually who actually walk out what you say. Do what you say. Give us courage to obey today. If you need that little bit of courage today, say, Lord, give me courage today. Give me strength today. Give me faith to move in what you have called me to do. Lord, Lord, help keep me consistent. Lord, I want consistency to be a word that I use daily. But not just a word I use daily. Let consistently be something that you walk out daily. And before you get out here and you start this thing, and you're like, ooh, I'm working out again. Oh, I'm running again. You gotta go tell everybody. You're so excited about what you've started back again. Let some things hang out in the secret place for a little while. The fruit of all the things that you want to say will eventually be seen. Somebody'll be like, uh, something's changing about you. Something that you're doing. See, let your fruit be seen before you start talking about what tree you're growing. A lot of people want to get out here and here's the whole big everything. A lot of people start popping your bubble early. You've tried that four times. I mean, do you really think that's what God's called you to do? I mean, you've done it this many times. You start opening up your mouth and saying too much too early. It is time for us to get back to the drawing board with the Lord, put together what needs to be done, and begin taking some actionable steps so people begin to look and they go, hey, my goodness, what is that you're working on over there? See, a lot of people give you a lot of advice early on through hurts and pains of what didn't go well for them, causing you to not start what needs to be started. But if you'll just start and you'll begin to go and you'll begin to grow, people will begin to peer into that window that you have now put into place, and they're like, wow, what you got going on? That looks great. That sounds great. Man, I can't believe God's moving like that in your life. That didn't work for me, but I'm telling you what, God is all over that. I'm just giving you that brotherly, fatherly advice. The things you start in the secret place with God will be seen eventually in its own time. You don't have to go out here and tell everybody what you're doing. That's the number one way to get yourself discouraged again. Just trust me. I don't know who needs to hear that this morning, but just trust me on that. That's today's morning charge. Before you move on with your day, take a moment and let what you've heard settle into your heart. Faith isn't just something we talk about, it's something we live out in the ordinary moments of everyday life. Wherever today takes you, remember this. You don't walk into it alone. God is already ahead of you, working in ways you may not even see yet. Stand firm, walk in wisdom, lead with love, and don't forget who you belong to.
