Divine Intervention
Divine Intervention is a space I created to be unapologetically myself. I created this space as another step in my personal journey towards being true to myself. With guests, book analysis, and more, this is a space for me and others to exist authentically and share our experiences. Once I began to think about the systems, voices, and perceptions that shaped my view of life, I realized how much I was struggling because I was allowing outside factors to influence how I navigated life and viewed myself.
Divine I. was created from a program I experienced at the end of 2025. I had a conversation with another participant and it made me realize how differently I viewed myself because of outside voices and how I could actively choose to define me for myself. I began to think about systems, voices, conversations, and perceptions that shaped my outlook and how I could actively choose to define myself for myself. Divine Intervention will discuss decolonizing the mind and finding what freedom is for yourself. The most radical thing you can do is dream of a life different from the one before your eyes and be willing to take the steps to make that happen for yourself. All forms of resistance begin with how you think of the world around you.

In this episode, I talk a little bit about the word love and how that connected to whether or not I saw myself as deserving of things. I opened up about the importance of self-love, exploring your relationship with yourself, and being brave enough to see what that means for you.
Hey, how y'all doing? This is your girl Brianna, and this is the Divine Intervention Podcast where I try my best to make space and learn how to take up that space. I wanted to chime in today on the word love and the idea of love. And I'm super excited because I have a friend coming soon. And we're gonna get into all about love by Bill Hooks, the themes that we're passionate about in the book, but also the way that love, both romantic and platonic, shows up in our lives today and how we navigate those relationships. I am super excited, y'all just don't understand. But I wanted to chime in today because love has been one of the key words in my meditation lately, in prayer lately, in my journal lately. And after I read All About Love by Bill Hooks, it forced me to rethink of the word love and what does love mean. Daily meditations for people of color. And I just wanted to read the meditation for today because I said my prayer, I did my meditation on the things that you know me and God be talking about together. And by the time I got to this page, it kind of sat with me, so I wanted to share it. It says, at a very early age, we're taught to depend on someone else for our basic needs. When we are bald, toothless, and helpless, it should be that way. As we mature, we must learn to become self-supportive and self-loving. A balanced and productive being is one who learns love of self. Loving yourself has nothing to do with being selfish, self-centered, or self-engrossed. It means that you accept yourself for what you are and that you're willing to put your best foot forward, even if the foot is big. Loving yourself means that you accept responsibility for your own development, growth, and happiness. It means you set the standard for how you want to be treated. Loving yourself means accepting your strengths and weaknesses, making a commitment to work on building and correcting what needs to be done. When you love yourself, you pave the way for all you want and need to come to you at the right time in the perfect way. I love me. This really sat with me because lately in my meditations, I think I have to frequently remind myself that the love that you put into the world is a reflection of like who you are, and it's a reflection of your light. I think sometimes you can get so caught up in things that you can forget that the emotion that you're sometimes feeling from other feeling from other things is a reflection of how deeply that you can feel as a person, or how deeply that you can give certain things like love or grace, kindness, compassion. And I also was meditating on the word love lately because I don't know. I've just really been in the mood of loving on myself and giving myself what I wish to receive. I think a lot of times I would rock back and wait. And lately, I've just really been on this theme of time and realizing that the only time that you really have is the time that's in front of you, and all of the things that you're wishing for, you can choose to give them to yourself. It's just a matter of you deciding what that looks like for you, or even being brave enough to step into it and ask yourself what that looks like, and what does that mean? Another word for me that I've been meditating on lately is the word deserve, and I probably recorded two or three attempted episodes trying to break down my relationship with the word deserve, it's complicated, like a lot of other things. I think that for so long, and I think the word deserve ties in with love. I'm a very hard worker, I've never shied away from hard work, and along the way, I think I got off balance in because I think everything in life is about balance, and finding what that means and what that is for you. But in the word deserve, I would get caught up in whether or not I felt like I was a deserving of things, and I slowly watched it teeter from me thinking that I didn't deserve because of something that I lacked to me not deserving because of something that I perceived for myself to have. So lately, I've just been in the process of trying to just see myself a little more clearly, ground myself in the facts. I have this my I have this thing that my therapist tells me to do where she's like, Breathe, whenever you feel yourself going off, ground yourself in the facts, like tell remind yourself of like the truth, and the truth as in the things that you can see, um, or the facts of the situation, and not you getting too caught up in what you think or how you feel, because feelings are fleeting. But I think even for the word deserve, to think that you deserve something or don't deserve something, especially if God has already told you or showed you that it's for you, really goes back to self-worth and love and care and learning how to give that to yourself. So that was on my heart to share today. It's quite a quick episode. Didn't really want to be too lengthy, but I hope you're having a wonderful Friday. Drink some water, try to stay cool because it is it is hot out there, and write a love letter to yourself. See what you come up with. I'll see y'all in the next one.
