Your body is chosen with precision to facilitate this incarnation. Symptoms are not accidental. When something keeps happening physically, there is meaning to it. Metaphysics helps you investigate that meaning to restore physical and mental health and well-being.
SPEAKER_00What's the definition of a sanity?
SPEAKER_01I'm Dr. Tony Riley. This is the Soul Life Psychology podcast where intuition meets logic. Over the last eight episodes, we've explored awakening, awareness, patterns, and we've explored intuition, your best friend on earth. We moved into intuitive counseling and we've looked at Life Map, which is the outline of your life mission master plan. It holds the inherent blueprint of your character and psyche. Now we're going into the body. This episode is about metaphysics. Metaphysics investigates the emotional connection to physical symptoms. A symptom can be as small as a paper cut on your ring finger, tripping over to period pain. It's all about understanding what a minor accident, illness, or disease is bringing to your attention. And the body expresses, even when you're not noticing, your body gives you another chance to pay more attention, to discover what your body is trying to tell you. Metaphysics isn't about replacing medical care per se. It's more about bringing awareness to what you need to pay attention to in your life. Things like where are you selling yourself out or not speaking up? Maybe feeling oppressed by the needs of others, keeping the peace or fighting to feel understood. The list is so long. Your body speaks to you as a messenger of your soul. The question is, are you listening? Most people set about fixing the wound or cursing the inconvenience that the accident has caused, yet there are no accidents. Only calls to notice the message behind it. What is your body trying to tell you? What metaphysics is, is it's exploring the underlying cause of physical symptoms. In this episode, we investigate the emotional connections behind illness. We're examining how the psyche and the body interact. The body tells you what you are subconsciously doing and it shows you where you're out of alignment with yourself. Anxiety points to feeling insecure or unsupported, or it can be a sign that you need to take action on your own behalf. Maybe you have to speak up for yourself or state your case, and the anxiety tells you it's important, though you won't know the outcome until you do it. And that's what causes the anxiousness, not being in control of the reaction or the consequences. Anxiety could also be because you're sensitive and attuned to others, and you might be picking up on their insecurities or worries. A sore throat reflects holding back on saying what you feel. Lower back pain is about feeling financially unstable. Knees relate to control, rigidity, or fear of moving forward. Symptoms are information, they're not punishment. The body is alerting you to an unresolved emotional issue. Your body's calling out, listen to me. Some signs from the body. Common signs from your body would be anxiety, acne, asthma, chest infections, headaches, weight, back pain, knee problems, throat issues, eczema, thrush or urinary infections. The list is so long, but every symptom has an association to an emotion. For example, upper back can relate to carrying the weight of the world, feeling burdened or obligated. Middle back can connect to holding on to guilt or resentment from the past. Lower back reflects insecurity about financial support or survival. Knees often link to control, judgment, rigidity or stubbornness, or fear of what comes next. Ankles can reflect feeling trapped, overcommitted, or weighed down by responsibility. All symptoms are an investigative starting point. Metaphysics doesn't necessarily diagnose, though the symptom always fits with what's happening in your life emotionally. Your body is asking you, what are you burdened by? Or what are you holding back? Where are you too responsible? Where are you resisting what is unfolding? This is basically counseling applied to the body. Let's talk about bruises and the body because you've already heard about emotional bruises, abandonment, rejection, humiliation, betrayal, injustice, or equality. Buses correlate with physical expressions. Abandonment might show up through breathing problems, adrenal issues, maybe even depression. Rejection links to allergies, diabetes, panic, and eating disorders. Humiliation can present in back pain, thyroid issues, skin conditions. Betrayal relates to joints, digestion, and inflammation, and injustice can reflect as stiffness, arthritis, or burnout. The emotional bruise forms in childhood, the body carries it into adulthood, and when insecurity remains uninvestigated, the body speaks to you louder. And I'll say it again: when insecurity is not investigated, the body speaks louder. Which means this is when you'll experience the same symptom again and again. Let's talk about left and right. There are distinctions between the left and right sides of the body. So noticing which side was afflicted is really important to your investigation. Left usually relates to feminine energy. So self-connection and listening to your inner guidance is the intuitive side. The right side usually relates to more masculine energy, authority, power, and action in the real world. For example, the right knee might connect to difficulty moving forward in your career or issues with a male authority figure. Whereas the left knee may link to holding on to sadness from the past or being very self-critical. These are calls to look deeper, investigate. Physical signs don't happen because you've been foolish or you weren't diligent enough. They are invitations to explore deeper what you are not yet seeing. Here's how to work with metaphysics. You don't jump to conclusions. You investigate to explore why. If someone has chronic headaches, you would ask, what pressure are you under? Where are you overthinking? Or what are you overthinking? And where are you carrying responsibility? If someone has repeated throat issues, for example, you would ask, what are you not saying? Or what are you holding back about yourself? If someone struggles with lower back pain, you would ask, how stable are you feeling financially? Or what unresolved anger are you carrying from childhood? The aim is awareness because awareness shifts behaviour and behavior shifts physiology. Sometimes instantly, and sometimes it happens over time, regardless, it's an integration. Let's talk about personal responsibility. Metaphysics returns responsibility to the individual. It is healthy because you no longer look to blame anyone, not even yourself, or you don't seek diagnosis from a GP who isn't really versed in the metaphysical language and who really has little idea of what's going on in your inner world and they never ask. Your body isn't betraying you, it's communicating something really important. And when you treat symptoms only at the surface level, the message repeats. It repeats by sending the same injury or symptom. When you investigate the emotional cause, the message reduces or disappears. Sometimes illness alerts you to a life change that has been postponed. Sometimes it points to a suppressed resentment that's been building for many years. Sometimes it highlights a detail or a default behavior that's gone too far. It's your body protecting you. It also exposes you sometimes to realizations that shock you. These kinds of shocks are reality checks, but they feel freeing. Here's a personal story I thought I would share with you. I call it the relationship toe, because over the period of a couple of years, I would kick my left toe, the one next to the little toe. I don't know what its name is, but that toe. And I kicked it a couple of times. Each time I got the dictionary out, read what it said, and it was indeed relative to what was going on in my life in relationships or my relationship, then love relationship in my case. Anyway, I was away with my friend and I kicked my toe. Oh my god, it hurt, but it was the same toe, and you wouldn't believe it. Of course, I did look up the metaphysical reason and it was right. But on my foot, the bruise that came out from kicking the toe was in the shape of a heart. Absolute crazy serendipity. The other thing with this relationship toe story is the moment, almost the moment, that I looked up the meaning and understood it because it was true, the pain stopped immediately. And yet it had a big bruise that lasted for a week. So that's how quickly things can heal when you look up the metaphysical meaning. Another story. I had a client who started to get thrush and urinary tract infections later in life. These afflictions have sex. Her body stopped sexual activity that she was doing out of obligation. Why? Because her relationship was not quite right, yet she stayed, fearing that she couldn't make it on her own. So her body was protecting her from unwanted intimacy, but it exposed something deeper that she was unconsciously avoiding. A potential breakup. That was so scary for her. She took a brave stand and ended the relationship, and her female health was perfect. Now she is free and feeling amazing. Let's talk about metaphysics in daily life. You can begin with one question. What is my body trying to show me or tell me? If you feel exhausted, ask where you are overextending yourself. If you feel inflamed, ask where anger is. If you feel tight or stiff, ask where you are being stubborn, rigid, or resisting something. Don't blame yourself. You're just investigating. Here is the practical takeaway for the week. I want you to think about something that happened when you were a kid. An example is I used to kick my big toe all the time, but think about something that happened to you with your physicality. And I want you to Google the metaphysical meaning of it and see if it fits with what was going on in your life at that time. I have mine on the shelf to refer to whenever anything physical happens, and my adult kids do too. You can use the form in the show notes and I'll email a link to my favorites, but you certainly can Google them. Next show or next episode, we're focusing on the most unbelievable, life-changing thing that crossed my path. I didn't know it at the time, but it set the foundations for soul life psychology. I'm really excited to talk to you about recall therapy. It really floats my boat. The most profound, effective process in existence to heal and grow. Remembering my past lives and accessing soul memories was just so empowering, the most extraordinary experience. And the influence of Dr. Brian Weiss, author of Many Lives, Many Masters, also a huge influence. We will explore how recalling past lives makes this life better and that it has nothing to do with dwelling on the past. Metaphysics shows you that the body remembers, whereas recall shows you how to access what it remembers. Metaphysics is an investigation of you and where you're at. It's always spot on. It will make your jaw drop when you start looking things up as they happen. Just know that your body is not against you. It's aligned with your life's mission. When you listen to your body, you'll respond differently. I find the symptoms or pain literally go as soon as you know what your body was trying to tell you. Like I told you in the relationship toe story. Thank you for being here. I would be so grateful if you subscribe or follow to stay connected and to help me get this work out there. Awareness is the ultimate activism.
