All right, howdy y'all. Welcome to episode 12. 12, episode 12 week. Week 13th. Week 13th. That's right. So uh yes, we are back here on the on the back patio enjoying this um well we're not enjoying anything. The weather is terrible. Oh the we're weather's horrible. So we're just uh we're staying, folks. Yes, stay inside, do not go outside. We are suffering, suffering through this weather. Doing a little uh product testing. Hmm. Yes. Well, let's get straight into it. We got a bit to talk about. Al Jabera reporting on the middle yeast. What's going on? What is going on? Nothing on yeah, what's going on? Let's go. So in the brew house this week. There's no new beers in particular, but all the beers that are on tap right now are drinking fantastic. All alone. I will say that the goofy foot is on its way out. It's almost gone. So come in, everybody, and let's enjoy the goofy foot. Because it is, it is just it's really, really fascinating. It it's shit. This is week four of Goofy Foot. I think this is five. Right. And it's just now, it's totally cleared up. It's totally drop clear. Yeah. It's a beautiful beer, and every single week, every single week the flavor changes. Yeah. So this beer is drinking really, really good right now. Let's enjoy it, because who knows when we're going to get it back. I'm ready for your next adventure. Yeah, well, we'll discuss that in a second. The next seasonal. The next seasonal's already planned for. I've already bought the ingredients. So yes. Now, other updates for the brew house. Stubbies. We are bottling on Wednesday this week. We're going to go ahead and get that done. We're going to use almost, I would say, 80% of the bottles we're going to use have they are bottles that have been returned. Now that. So that's a big deal. So two weeks ago when I bottled, I've probably forgot to mention this. Two weeks ago when I bottled, it was all bottles that have been returned. And that's that's incredible. So I thank y'all battle. Yeah, thank y'all so much. Keep returning them. Keep returning your bottles in your carriage. So our our display works. Well. Maybe it does. Maybe it does. It's like I said, we're visual learners. We need to see it. Yeah. Yes.
SPEAKER_00We're like very special ed here.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Yes. Very. Yes. Navero County education, 100%. A lot of visuals, a lot of PowerPoints. A lot of PowerPoints. A lot of PowerPoint presentations. Yes. Bottling on Wednesday. It'll be a good variety this week. I'll most likely do uh all three. Three of the main house beers. And uh yeah.
SPEAKER_00Are you gonna bottle goofy foot?
SPEAKER_02No. No. No, I'm not gonna bottle goofy foot. I want people to enjoy it in the brew house. That's how it's enjoyed best. Yeah. It's a tank-conditioned beer. They're meant to be enjoyed from the tank. So we're gonna do that. And then I do want to mention Sunday fun day. April 19th. Sunday the 19th is the next Sunday fun day. That is the third Sunday. Yes, Gary Harper, that is the third Sunday of April. If you open up a calendar and you go to Sunday and you count one, two, three, you'll land on April 19th.
SPEAKER_00Because two Sundays ago it was March. March.
SPEAKER_02Which is not the third Sunday. No, it is not. No, it is not. So here's what we're doing. It's gonna be great. We're doing chicken Tinga stuffed poblanos served with brewer's beans. Them brewers. Them brewer's beans. And guacamole salad. It's gonna be amazing. That's gonna be good. It's gonna be amazing. It's not gonna be a chili rien, so it's not going to be battered and fried.
SPEAKER_00Fried. No. This is a more traditional.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's gonna be a stuffed pepper with the red sauce. With the chicken tinga cooked out of the red sauce, the red sauce on top, the beans and the guacamole side. It's gonna be lovely.
SPEAKER_00It's gonna be cooked in a green sauce with the red sauce on the top.
SPEAKER_02That's it. That's it. Yep. It's gonna be really, really good. Sorry, I just had to take a swig of my water. The high quality water. Yeah, it's all water right now at in the evening here on this. But it is six o'clock. Yeah, it's all water at six o'clock with terrible weather out on the patio. We're just we're just drinking water. We're doing it for you guys. Yes, we are. Nobody wants to do it for the thing. We're taking a head. Yep, somebody's gotta do it. So don't forget, write it down. Sunday fun date, April 19th. I think I should announce the next seasonal. You should. Hell, I probably did last episode.
SPEAKER_00No, you didn't.
SPEAKER_02I didn't. You might have. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's what I would like three margaritas deep.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. The next seasonal is the downtown brown.
SPEAKER_00Because we don't fact check anything.
SPEAKER_02Oh. No. No. No. The downtown brown is coming back. So the sooner y'all drink Goofy Foot, the sooner we get to enjoy the downtown brown. That means come out, finish it so we can. Let's finish it off so I can brew goofy. So I can brew downtown brown. We can get it on tap. I'm going to tank condition it just like I've been tank conditioning all the other beers. So it's going to give it an exceptional flavor.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Very excited to resurrect this OG recipe. It's been probably two years since we've gotten.
SPEAKER_00Since the kitchen opened?
SPEAKER_02It's been a long time since we've had this.
SPEAKER_00Yes, I do. We did talk about it last time. Because last time you made it was the kitchen opened.
SPEAKER_01So it's been a year and a half. Year and a half.
SPEAKER_02That's a long time.
unknownDamn.
SPEAKER_02It's going to be so much fun to have that beer back. I'm so excited to make it. I'm so excited for y'all to drink it. I'm really excited to bottle it. I can't wait to get that in Stubbies with our new seasonal label, the downtown Brown. Yeah. It's going to be great. So keep an eye out on that. That'll be in the next couple of weeks. My goal, I really want to have that on tap for uh for uh the days of Derek. Oh, the Derek days.
SPEAKER_00No, the days of Derek. The days of Derek. Yes. And look out for that because I will be making chili for the week. The whole week. The whole week. The whole just award-winning chili. Yeah, no, wait. Six times.
SPEAKER_02Six time award-winning chili. That's right. We're gonna have that shit. Everybody else is gonna eat chili on Friday night and Saturday morning. No. We're gonna have chili Tuesday and Saturday.
SPEAKER_00Whole week. Because 90% chance it'll rain the chili cook-off.
SPEAKER_02It's gonna rain rains every year. Because it always does.
SPEAKER_00It rains every year. No, this year at Watch, it'll be like 100 degrees. Yep, on the days of Derek.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it'll be like 100 degrees. So the who was Derek and why does he get days? Do you know who Derek was? He gets days. I know a Derek. No, Derek gets these days in Navero County every April. Yeah. The days of Derek. It's a big deal, parades, a lot of shit going on. Who was Derek? Yeah, so y'all just figure that out. You know. Let us know. Yeah, let us know. We don't know who Derek was. Why does he get a set of days? We don't know. We don't know. It's a lot of fun though. So let's see. Do you got any updates? Is there anything going on in the kitchen? Uh this week I do have a ciabatta burger.
SPEAKER_00It is. It is double stacked.
SPEAKER_02Whoa, double-stacked ciabatta burger. Yep. That's the brew house sandwich.
SPEAKER_00That's the brew house sandwich this week. My goodness. And that bread is gorgeous. It's from a local bake or it's from a bakery. It's legit. Comes frozen.
SPEAKER_02When we get it, it's frozen. It's frozen. It's fresh. It's fresh. Very good ciabatta. Like I said, this will come as a double meat. Yeah. So you're going to get eight ounces of beef.
SPEAKER_00And then y'all can customize it as oh, sure.
SPEAKER_02Pick something. Yeah. Pick your sauce, pick your veggies. And this bread holds. So don't be afraid to stack that sucker with bacon.
SPEAKER_00And if you want to make it a triple, go ahead. Make my day.
SPEAKER_02Make my day. I love it. That's going to be great.
SPEAKER_00Because y'all don't see it. When I see triples or doubles, y'all don't see the yellow.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you do, yeah. That's between you and the wall. And that ticket printer. And that ticket printer. You and that ticket printer.
SPEAKER_00PTSD, man. I hear it at two in the morning.
SPEAKER_02Also trying to unthaw chicken. Unthaw faster.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. It's like when somebody asks me, hey man, I'm in a hurry. Okay? Yeah. I can only cook this burger as fast as the kid will cook fast. Just yell at the meat.
SPEAKER_02I want to mention too this for the poblano wraps, we're going to have the steak option back this week. Very limited. Limited, but don't come in early and order it because it's going to be phenomenal.
SPEAKER_00And next week I'll re-up.
SPEAKER_02Yep. Yep. So that's coming back. Steak poblano wraps are back. Now, tell me about Friday night, the Friday night special. Friday night, huh? The Friday night special.
SPEAKER_00Well, I'm going to loosen the bolts a little. Oh. Oh. Yeah. I'm going to do a I'm going to do a steak wrapped with asparagus on a bed of sweet herb mashed potatoes with some vine tomatoes.
SPEAKER_02Oh my God. Okay, so like it's going to be the A Cox Ranch. We still have it, guys. We're still tearing through it. We're getting great reception on that. And y'all came and ate it. 100%. And that's what we want. And we are so excited about it. Seriously. So what we're doing is we're going to take it's similar to a flank steak, but it isn't flank steak. But it's that kind of steak. And uh Chef is going to give it a good, nice light marinate. And then we're going to wrap a couple of asparagus. So you're going to take a he's going to trim it into sections and then wrap a couple of sprigs of asparagus with that steak and give it a beautiful grill. Yeah. Grill that off. And you're going to get a couple of those on a bed of mashed sweet potatoes with herbs, fresh herbs. Yes.
SPEAKER_00Don't eat the twine.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, just don't avoid that.
SPEAKER_00Avoid that.
SPEAKER_02That's not an edible. No. But I just think that's great. Like his chef's, a lot of y'all have had it. Uh his herb mashed sweet potatoes are just exceptional. They're exceptional. It's going to be a bet on those. And then the the cherry tomatoes on the vine. Yes.
SPEAKER_01That I will uh grill in my cast iron. Right. They're going to be pan seared. Yes. And heavy garlic and uh butter and olive oil.
SPEAKER_00Oh, goodness gracious. Yep. It'll be to the point where they're not cooked all the way, but just that about to pop.
SPEAKER_02Yep. Right before they pop and turn to mush. They will go fresh under your table. Oh man. So that's Friday night. Don't miss it. Friday night only. Only. Okay? So don't come in. Yeah, don't come in on Thursday or Saturday and ask for it. It's gone. It's gone. But we do have steak and eggs for you guys. Every Saturday. And y'all came out. Yes, y'all did. Keep coming out for that and we'll keep doing it. Steak and eggs on Saturday. It is elite. Yep. It is elite. Well, I'd say that's it for Al Jabir.
SPEAKER_00It's I think that's enough for the pirate ship and Al Jabir.
SPEAKER_02I'd say so. You know, it's a it's a random thought I had. What happened to the 90-minute movie? Just 90 minutes. Why does every movie have to be three hours, four hours? Why does it have to be this just trove of exposition scenes where the character sits there and moans about who he is for the next 40 minutes?
SPEAKER_00Why does the hero have to cry?
SPEAKER_02Why? Why? Why? It's that meme of that of that you got a joke. Why? Why?
SPEAKER_00It's just why? Just because look, last night I watched a 90-minute Van Damme movie. Yeah. Straight to the coin. There you go. He kicked butt. And it was super good. And they got the girl at the end. Soundtrack was good. Soundtrack was enjoyable. No, this one was horrible. Which one was it? Time cop. Oh yeah. It was so bad.
SPEAKER_02Horrible soundtrack. Not as best, but. I'll tell you what, that sound speaking of Van Dam, that soundtrack from um Bloodsport. Bloodsport is legendary. The Kumite, man. The Kumite, dude. I was there. 1984. I was there. We weren't even thought of. I was there.
SPEAKER_00It was great. But the 90-minute movies, man, they just hit different.
SPEAKER_02It's not as much pressure. No. It's like, oh, it's just 90 minutes, I'll just watch it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Right? It's not this three-hour complicated commitment.
SPEAKER_00Here's why the 90-minute movies work. All right, as a kid, did your parents ever drop you off and they knew it was going to be exactly about two hours? They could go run their errands. Oh, yeah, like in the movie theater. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Because the previews were about 1520. That's and you put that in to effect, and you got two hours. It was a 2.30 showing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. They knew they could drop you off at 2.15.
SPEAKER_00And pick you up by 6.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And be fine. It's all done. Yeah. You're happy. And you go to dinner, blah, blah, blah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And then you go spend more money at Blockbuster to rent a movie.
SPEAKER_02Man, Blockbuster was great.
SPEAKER_00Oh, Miss Blockbuster. Blockbuster was great. Shout out to my friend Danny, who always worked at Blockbuster.
SPEAKER_02Yeah? Yeah. Blockbuster was great, dude. There was a whole vibe about getting there there was an excitement that I used to have about going to Blockbuster to go find a movie or a game, too.
SPEAKER_00You could rent games too. Dude, the summer thing was the great thing. You could do the whole summer package. Yes. You could rent two games or two movies for like 30 bucks a month. And bring them back that day, you could exchange them. If you didn't like that game, go back.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, there's a whole vibe with that. I just really there was something so fun about walking into a Blockbuster and getting to go look at the cover art on all the movies and get to read about them.
SPEAKER_00But that smelling Blockbuster, you can't bring that back.
SPEAKER_02And they had all the concessions fan candy while you're waiting in line.
SPEAKER_00Popcorn, the overpriced drinks. Oh, for sure.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, man. For you zoomers, y'all don't know about that. That's kind of sad. It is. Well, there is one Blockbuster left.
SPEAKER_01Isn't it like in Alabama or something? Bend, Oregon. It's in Oregon. That's the last one. Our Jared Block Country. Shout out to Jared Block. Yep.
SPEAKER_02Yep. Old Oregon. I tell you what, man. Yeah, I just I pondered it. You know, I watched a 90-minute, well, hell it was hell, it was an 80-minute movie, hour and 20 minutes. It's like an 04 movie, Walking Tall with the Rock. Isn't it so good? Yeah, I was doing dishes and screwing around in the kitchen yesterday. You know, at night, in the evening, whatever, doing ablusion bullshit you don't want to do. So I put that movie on. And I just started watching it. It's not a great movie. But that's not the point. No, it's a fun movie. It's fun as hell. Yeah. The writing is the writing is feels grounded. It feels like these characters, that shit they would really say.
SPEAKER_00But the plot starts in 15 minutes of the movie. Sure.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you know exactly by 15 minutes in, you know exactly what's going on.
SPEAKER_00You don't have to wait an hour and a half to figure out.
SPEAKER_02No. And the main character never walks around wondering who he is for 45 minutes. Or five minutes. Who am I? Who with Zack Snyder dramatic music? Or five movies to figure out who he is. Oh my god. That doesn't happen.
SPEAKER_00He played a great Superman, just horrible.
SPEAKER_02Sitting around wondering who he is all the time.
SPEAKER_00Oh my God. Batman is Batman. He knew he was Batman.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_00Yes. Ben Affleck did great. I don't care what y'all say. He was good. Ben Affleck was a great Batman. He was also a great Bruce Wayne, too. He played a violent Batman.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Which Batman is violent. 100%.
SPEAKER_00He'll kill you if he has to.
SPEAKER_02He does not want to. But he will. But he will. If he kicks you off the edge of a building, he does not have to save anything.
SPEAKER_01Nope.
SPEAKER_02That's it. You know what? Uh, what in the hell is that?
SPEAKER_00Is she reading your Bible? She's reading your Bible.
SPEAKER_02Who gets the family Bible? Well, we know now. Yeah, we do.
SPEAKER_01Is that the family Bible? Is that yours? No, that's not the family Bible. Okay.
SPEAKER_02That's just mine. Oh, okay. It's not the family Bible.
SPEAKER_00I was about to say, there has to be a Goens Bible. Yeah, just it's like leather, it's like leather bound. Like in Constantine, it just drops.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it just drives you. Boom! And does boss off of it. No. The lore's not that deep. I think it is. No, it's not. No, it isn't. No, it isn't.
SPEAKER_00Oh man. Well. I have no ramps this week. Well shit. I'm gonna keep those thoughts to myself this week.
SPEAKER_02That just might be good.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_02That just might be good. Hmm. It's gonna be a great week, y'all. Um, we look forward to serving you. Weather's gonna be nice.
SPEAKER_01Perfect.
SPEAKER_02Yep, a little bit of rain, a little bit of knot. It's gonna be temperatures are gonna be great, the beers are drinking great, the food is gonna be phenomenal. We can't wait to see you in the brew house this week. And that's it. That's all we got. That's all we got. Thank y'all. Yep, thank you.
