SPEAKER_00

Hi, I'm Ava. And I'm Abby. And you're listening to Enders Afters.

SPEAKER_01

Where we use East End as hot topics to talk about our real worlds.

SPEAKER_00

And have a good gossip.

SPEAKER_01

Welcome to the Welcome to the Afters. So Ava, what's your storyline?

SPEAKER_00

What is your limit on in sickness and health?

SPEAKER_01

What do you mean, marriage?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so like when you get married, and they say, in sickness and health, like How much are you taking them? Yeah, what's the point where you leave them? Because we've got I was saying that because we've got Vicky and Ross.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And she's willing to live with Joel, which is mad, really.

SPEAKER_00

And it's like she did say to him in sickness and health, and I thought, what when? Because people leave there, they get divorced. What's the tipping point?

SPEAKER_01

Literally did used to think in sickness and health, but it's not like that.

SPEAKER_00

Because really and truly, you gotta stay forever because in sickness and health.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, for real.

SPEAKER_00

No, but sickness and health actually is sickness and health. Oh, health means whatever it is.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, no, no, no, but there's more. And there's there's more to the vows than sickness and health. They say something else. In something, in something. Look up the vowels, look up the vowels.

SPEAKER_00

Because even like people who cheat, they stay because you're married.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, but especially back in the day, the people who did genuinely did stay it in sickness and in health. It is something else though, as well. Well, to death till death do us par till death do us par kind of says it all.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so that's what I'm saying. What are you gonna say for?

SPEAKER_01

Till death do you par.

SPEAKER_00

Like, what is the limit?

SPEAKER_01

Um, what is the limit?

SPEAKER_00

People just fall out of love as well, but a deaf do us pa, hello, not not no get married. That's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_01

Because I'm kicking you out when you're killing ya, because it's death play. When you play, you be gum boo.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, like the whole thing with Ross and Vicki is funny because at first she's like, no, I'm not having your son in your life.

SPEAKER_01

Which is so fine.

SPEAKER_00

Then she cheated on him with Zach.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah. But but it she even said no when he first comes back. But this is it, is like sh the reason why she's happy to well not happy to have him, but the reason why she's being way more empathetic when before she was like done with Ross because he was allowing so much from thing is because she cheated on him. And he took her back like on the wedding day, like literally bound out on the wedding day, took her back right there and then. Like, I think she's got so much love and appreciation for how he like allowed her to yeah, or I think he even understood in some weird way how it ended up.

SPEAKER_00

That's what I'm saying about relationships. There's so many underlying things sometimes, like, and you change with each other and things happen, and I suppose that's through sickness and health because you have to stick by that person, you need to get through what it is. You don't have to, but I'm saying, like, that's the point they're saying is you've got to like you've got to navigate it.

SPEAKER_01

You're together now, and and whatever comes your way, you're gonna you should deal with.

SPEAKER_00

But yeah, I don't know, obviously not. But she's um they're showing it quite in the show.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they are, they are, and this is what we love about them. It shows characterization.

SPEAKER_00

It's not a great thing, this is do you think he's changed though? That's what I'm saying, guys. Is it a hoax or has he changed? I really like him as an actor, that young boy.

SPEAKER_01

He is really great at actor.

SPEAKER_00

Because he before he was horrible as his character, and now it's like, has he changed? But I did catch him watching a video.

SPEAKER_01

What was it of?

SPEAKER_00

Him watching a video, but you don't know what it's of, so it's like, is he still on online?

SPEAKER_01

Or do you know who played his mum when his mum brought him into it? That's his auntie.

SPEAKER_00

I was gonna say, they look related.

SPEAKER_01

That's his auntie in real life, huh?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I know.

SPEAKER_01

I was like, they look she's in loads of stuff though. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I love it when they bring a glanner.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Even just for like one day.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and it shows how he's been messed up by his family. I know. Mum doesn't want him. Ross was a good dad, but I suppose.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but Ross is a bit weak.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, he's soft. Yeah, bless him.

SPEAKER_01

Love. Do you know what? He is a good man, but he's just a bit soft. He doesn't I don't think he knew how to like step up into both roles, which is actually so fair enough. Like, who does?

SPEAKER_00

But so it's it's good how they're showing uh Joel's side of him just being a child, yeah, and sometimes life it gets in the way.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I wonder whether they're gonna bring back the storyline. It's so funny with the kids now.

SPEAKER_00

Well, they might do, I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. I don't know what's left to play here.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think he's changed.

SPEAKER_01

But I'm glad they brought him back in it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I think it's a hoax.

SPEAKER_01

I think people can change though, on a wider view, not just of him. I don't think we should be writing off teenage boys. No.

SPEAKER_00

100% not.

SPEAKER_01

But I think we can't just like be like, okay, well, you've had your pr punishment in Juvie, now you're cool. No, like some deep well, first of all, they need really positive role models that are that are a bit more like well as in your face as uh Andrew Tate would be, but on a positive way. Like you've you've got an Andrew Tate character, whatever they called him in East Enders, and then you've got the other role model is someone like Ross. You actually you need someone that's both like that is a real strong leader. Ross is not a leader, a leader, but in a way.

SPEAKER_00

But I don't think there's anything wrong with Ross.

SPEAKER_01

No, I'm not I'm not saying there is, yeah, I'm just saying he's soft, which is absolutely fine to be soft. He's not a leader, yeah, like, and then you've got this leader like Andrew Tate, he might be a bad man, but he is a leader. You need leaders that are positive, yeah. You know, you need people with really strong um leading energy, really strong role model energy, but that are positive role models.

SPEAKER_00

That's why they need to bring back the youth clubs because you go to a place like that and you get you learn so much, so important for kids that don't have any role models in their life, and yeah, you make friends and you yeah, learn through creativity, loads of different ways, exactly. Exactly, build connections.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, this actually, oh my god, they should do this in East Enders. Well, you know that community centre Linda's storyline. About trying to keep running, they should turn it into a youth club.

SPEAKER_00

I know, or have like youth club sessions, yeah, for sure. Because a lot of community halls had you know, the AM, I'm at school, they have like breakfast clubs. Mine was in a hall, yeah. It wasn't like a whole youth club, it was for different family centres, things that they all combine, which there's none of them anymore, but yeah, um, yeah, Lyndon and a new man can can run it! Oh bless them. How funny was the pole dancer?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I know. I love it when I I put that episode on with my mum, and I literally said to her, it's because she don't watch it. I was like, it's not always this ridiculous. You know when East Linders does a ridiculous episode, which we love, but if that's our new episode you're watching, it's kind of funny.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they're like old classic East Linders, it's like, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But also, do you know what I like? Is like the whole way of like uh Joel is this like really strong uh villain energy as a teenager, and then you've got the most opposite version is Barney, and Barney was the one that hit him over the head. I thought at the beginning of that episode, because you know Barney was like didn't like what was going on. I thought Barney was gonna run off and grass. No, and then he ends up being the per No, I did by the end of the episode, yeah. But you know, when they first tied him up with the chains and Barney was freaking out, I was like, Barney's about to go grass. Yeah, and then he ended up doing that. I love that um It's because he loves Zavani. Oh, he loves Zavani. I didn't even think he would never do it for any other reason.

SPEAKER_00

And I love how Harry protected him. I love I love when they have family um dynamics. I just love it.

SPEAKER_01

I just thought you are your mother's son.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, your mother's son, and when Nicola finds out about um George um killing the dad, and then the way they rode, yeah. Sorry, Harry is so Harry, and she's like, not a word, because they just some like that's their family.

SPEAKER_01

That's the way they roll.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's like such a now. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Since the whole sh him finding out about Shireen and the whole like kidnapping with by was it Oaky?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Oakie and um Ravi did that whole thing.

SPEAKER_01

But since the kidnapping, he has levelled up in his gangsterisms almost. He's he's there.

SPEAKER_00

You can tell Harry a secret and he'll keep it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he knows how to ride now. And Barney will in a year's time once he's had to ride out this.

SPEAKER_00

Barney's not gonna be able to hold the guilt. But I can't wait to see how and why he did it. Because they left him for dead, the poor boy.

SPEAKER_01

I know. I love that.

SPEAKER_00

I love the all the kids. That was a good little it was a great episode.

SPEAKER_01

It's great they got to do it. I was watching, looking at their Instagrams as well, like, and they look like they had such fun filming it. I know. It'd be so fun to grow up on a soap like that. They'd have such bonds. Do you know what I love as well? I saw on TikTok and I thought it's so true, is like they're really shaping Amy to be Roxy's daughter. Yeah, she's just we've got a little sus to her. I forget that she's Roxy's daughter because she's more Jack's daughter in some ways. Like, you know, Roxy's more rough where like Jack's a bit more like proper. Yeah, I don't know how to explain it.

SPEAKER_00

It's funny how they make it seem like Jack, because he's a policeman, he's by the book, and Amy's like, he's done way worse. Yeah. He's actually a branding at heart, but he just acts like I'm a policeman, I've got to do it right, and then when it comes down to it, he will break the law.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, he's like that video goes nowhere. Not even a blink of the eye.

SPEAKER_00

Like he's done his time and juvie. Yeah, literally.

SPEAKER_01

Delete the video. Yeah, literally.

SPEAKER_00

For real. I love it.

SPEAKER_01

Amy is a chip off the old block when it comes to Roxy.

SPEAKER_00

I thought the dumbest thing you did was when you had a baby at twelve, but this is.

SPEAKER_01

I know, alright. Amy, chill out with you. She has always had that really bitchy bully side to her.

SPEAKER_00

When I'm then she's nice at the same time.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, which is Roxy! Which is a Mitchell! She is a Mitchell! Mitchell, we begin. She's not just a Brannon, yeah, she's a Mitchell, and and so is Ricky. Yeah. Which is the funny thing.

SPEAKER_00

But did Joel deserve that? What do you think?

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_00

No, bullying is bullying. Two wrongs don't make a right, is just especially the tying up.

SPEAKER_01

I actually think the tying up looks worse than the hit and over the head.

SPEAKER_00

It reminded me of like Lords of the Flies when like one person does a thing, another, especially when you're an impressionable teenager. Kind of like gangs, one person does one thing, another person follows, and then you've got yourself into this like friggin' mess that you can't get out of.

SPEAKER_01

A hundred percent.

SPEAKER_00

But it's just because people are following people.

SPEAKER_01

There was a few kids there that didn't want to be part of it, and then they all just did it. And then the one that Barney's got a hammer. Next thing you know, Barney's got a hammer in his hand.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, cave in his head in.

SPEAKER_01

I know it's always the ones you least expect when he's done, doesn't it?

SPEAKER_00

I know, I want to see how he did it. And I do reckon we'll get a flashback. Do you know what though, as well? A little um egg that I think I saw was when they're talking about the car lot, and I think Billy's gonna find the hammer. There was something to do with the car lot, because you know the hammer's hidden in the car lot.

SPEAKER_01

He's a Mitchell Sahid gun to the architect. I forget that Billy is pretty much like kind of like Barney's uncle. Yeah. Oh my god, you forget that the you forget the ancestry of the whole ancestry of the ancestors. Amy and um oh my god, Amy and Billy are related too.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but Amy and Denzel, when they were they're literally like, they're not related, but they're family.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because Denzel is like it all ties in. Is there anyone on the square that doesn't have the square link?

SPEAKER_00

Don't matter on the square. It don't matter. Incest it up, baby. I love it as well. Everyone on the square is so judgmental, and everyone on the square has done really bad things.

SPEAKER_01

Do you know what it is? It's the energy of a really small town. But it's actually they're in the east end of London. I know. It's literally, but it's the energy of not even a small town, like a small island. Like, imagine the Isle of White or something like that, or Jersey.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Do you know what I mean? Big up jersey.

SPEAKER_01

Big up jersey, have you ever been? No. No, neither have I.

SPEAKER_00

But uh, yeah. Barney killed, well, beat thing again.

SPEAKER_01

And then uh Barney tried to kill Joe.

SPEAKER_00

Barney tried to kill Joe. What stupid thing to do, Barney?

SPEAKER_01

A bit silly, he knows better than that.

SPEAKER_00

He knows better than that.

SPEAKER_01

But I love it when I love it when Harry said, You can't act any more weird than you normally are.

SPEAKER_00

I know. That's him. Uh side note when our fave Nicola slacks off Suki's bun. No, no, no. She says, Your bun's dated. It's about time someone addressed that. No, I know, we love it. And the Suki's like, is my bun dated?

SPEAKER_01

Also, I need to say something about the fact that she said sorry to Suki.

SPEAKER_00

That that's No, I like I like that because they're all like I love that Nicola feeds off strong women's energy, even though she fights them. She likes the fight, and Suki's the same as Nicola in that she's like up for the fight. She's not, they're not scared of each other. And I love it, I love those scenes.

SPEAKER_01

I think though, that's what I mean though, is I think that sorry has to have been a manipulation tactic because I can't accept that she would say sorry in that way. She didn't even say it was Sash, she literally grovelled, and I thought that ain't my Nicola.

SPEAKER_00

I think she um she just wants to get rid of it after George. She's got too much on her plate.

SPEAKER_01

She has not sorry.

SPEAKER_00

George is crying in the corner. She even called her sister, which is going to be something.

SPEAKER_01

I know you're coming in. I just made that connection. Can't wait. Did you did you? Yeah, just now. Oh no, when I saw the call, I thought, oh, that's how the family's coming in.

SPEAKER_00

Gorgeous! I'm looking forward to that. More of Nicolai.

SPEAKER_01

They must have loved her as much as they've seen how much the audience loves her. They gave her a whole family. Love that. So, what is your final d?

SPEAKER_00

My final dift off is people can change, but you don't have to do it in sickness and health. You don't have to wait till they're doing sickness and health to find out.

SPEAKER_01

Exactly.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, let us know what you think of the new family coming in.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you're excited to see Nicola's new fam.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And is George gonna pattern up because he needs to stop being miserable? He has lost his dad and it is complex, but it is. She's holding that family down together. She's a still woman. That's woman. I know, I love her scenes. Comment down below.

SPEAKER_01

Like, subscribe, comment down below. We love ya. See you next week.
