SPEAKER_01

Hi, I'm Ava. And I'm Abby. And you're listening to Ender's Afters.

SPEAKER_00

Where we use East Enders hot topics to talk about our real worlds.

SPEAKER_01

And have a good gossip.

SPEAKER_00

Welcome to the afters.

SPEAKER_01

Welcome to the afters. So, Abby, what's your storyline?

SPEAKER_00

Could you handle prison?

SPEAKER_01

Could I handle prison?

SPEAKER_00

Are you an Ian or a grey?

SPEAKER_01

Ian's got eight months, guys.

SPEAKER_00

I know.

SPEAKER_01

But for me, it's one of them ones you don't know what you can do until in the situation. 100%, but it depends what prison you go to, first of all.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, 100%. 100%. But what do you reckon over can you?

SPEAKER_01

I think so, because I've watched loads of you know you know, Ian's like, am I gonna have to join a gang? Am I gonna have to do this? Because when you watch shows. Yeah, when you watch shows, they sh they tell you about prison all the time, and you're like, that's what you gotta do. Ian thinks he's gonna have to join a gang.

SPEAKER_00

Are you and Ian or a grey?

SPEAKER_01

I don't oh well Grey's a psycho.

SPEAKER_00

No, but just in respect to how you handle prison.

SPEAKER_01

I suppose so, yeah. I think I'd get down with the girls.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But in the first few bits, it's like, what is it like?

SPEAKER_00

I think you'd be fine actually. You'd find a way to like get to know everyone.

SPEAKER_01

Muddle through. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Could you?

SPEAKER_00

I've got two answers to this. In terms of like the violence and the like handling myself and like the intimidation, I absolutely would be sweet. I'm not even like I'm not saying my weight around at all. I just know in a situation like this, I know how to lock in. Do you know what I mean? And how and just like I'm not very easily intimidated. I've been around enough crazy people to deal with more crazy people. Mentally, I'd be like Jack Nicholson and one flew over the cocoon's next.

SPEAKER_01

Mentally, I'd be like, Yeah, that's the thing, it's mentally, isn't it?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's different as well.

SPEAKER_01

I think you can come around with the dynamics. Yeah, because you can come out as a different person because it can trauma it does traumatise people.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely. I think it traumatises everyone on some level. And I also think, as well, like for me, I'm not very good with rules. I don't like the system.

SPEAKER_01

Rule breaker.

SPEAKER_00

I'm just not like unless a rule makes sense, don't give me it. I'm not I'm not gonna listen to it. That's why I didn't get on in school. It's not that I don't love to learn, I fucking love learning. Yeah, yeah, but it's the construct. Yeah, the cult construct. I hate the system, and it couldn't be more the system to be in prison. And I just think as well, like being boxed into something, it's all the things that I can't handle if I get approached of it in life.

SPEAKER_01

But like I said, I know, like I said, you don't know until you align to it. Yeah, because you humans adapt. Yeah, you have to adapt to survive, and if you don't adapt, you are a gonna.

SPEAKER_00

For sure.

SPEAKER_01

You know what I mean? So you don't adapt, you're a goner.

SPEAKER_00

You don't adapt, you're a gonna.

SPEAKER_01

Just like Ian is adapting slowly. Can I say I'm loving Ian in prison? I love it. It's so funny.

SPEAKER_00

I bet you when he got the script for that, he's thinking this is gonna be fun.

SPEAKER_01

I love the new like setting. Yeah. Ian's hilarious because he's a funny character anyway. Yeah. He's such a great actor. And I love, because when they were bringing Grey back, I was like, how are they gonna do this when he's inside? But they've put Ian in there to work together to fuck Chelsea. I'm like, yeah, East Enders! Let's go. Because Grey is a psycho, so nostalgic for me because guys, the Grey storyline was crazy.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you really like that's really strange sticks with you.

SPEAKER_01

So it was really crazy how they done it.

SPEAKER_00

But this is the only thing, but obviously, this is just an East Enders way of doing things. It's like I think I think that he's gonna get out.

SPEAKER_01

No, no, no, because it's gonna be a whole thing with Grey.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I don't think I actually don't think Grey will get out, it would just be part of a bigger story.

SPEAKER_01

Grey won't get out, but Ian.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but like more just the thing for me is just like um why is Ian buying into this? But I suppose he's so scared. When you're that scared, no. But the woman's killed loads of what Grey's saying.

SPEAKER_01

No, but what's pissed me off is that classic he senders thing where Kathy's like, let's keep it from him so he's got no hope to come out. Yeah, but now that's gonna spur on a whole egg of worms, he's gonna turn against Chelsea, Chelsea's gonna lose Jordan, we're gonna get annoyed.

SPEAKER_00

In what world does that happen? Only in Eastenders would they ever be like, let's not tell him he's got a chance of getting out. I thought you were worried about how he's gonna handle it. The only way he's gonna handle it if he thinks he's getting out.

SPEAKER_01

I hope Peter does his thing and says, like Peter's being too mellow about all this.

SPEAKER_00

Like, come on, Peter, let's have some sparks, please.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, it's so crazy. I love it.

SPEAKER_00

I know, in it. It's mad. And Kathy's slapping Chelsea in the courtroom. Are you okay, babe?

SPEAKER_01

I know. But it was sweet when they all went to the Vic and they were like, Because what I like about the storyline is it's both Ian and Chelsea's fault, it's not just one.

SPEAKER_00

I also don't think I think they are talking like it was directly Chelsea because she directly done something like Jordan could have run anywhere. You it's not like one plus one equals two, it's not like shout at your child, he runs in the road, like no, like what child leaves the party? Like, do you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_01

Let's leave the party. What I do like about it is it's shining a light on how mothers feel when they're like not for they don't feel like they're good enough, they make a mistake, the pressure's on the mum all the time. She just wanted an eye on perfect parents, and that's a real thing, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

For sure, and she's like younger as well, like yeah, she's from a little mum as well.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, she's a single mum, she's been through trauma from that grey. She snapped it in her child for sure.

SPEAKER_00

Also showing that Sheila's actually not that bad. No, but she's gonna be able to be able to be able to be manipulated back by Grey.

SPEAKER_01

I thought Sheila was gonna be evil as well.

SPEAKER_00

Oh I thought she was gonna be a bit more evil, but it looks like she's also a victim of Grey's manipulation. Yeah, for sure. But these these men that are capable of that do have such power. I read a book once on basically this guy, he was a criminologist, I think that's the word. He and he used to meet with he had actually got a lot of confessions off a lot of serial killers, and he wrote this book about meeting like I think it was like seven different serial killers, there was a chapter on each one, and like he was like the he explained the charm they have. They're not hard people to be around, that's how they're able to do what they do.

SPEAKER_01

They get inside your brain, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And especially if you love that, it's your grandchild.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but yeah. He's a psycho, he wants I'm really excited to see how it plays out, but how he's gonna take Chelsea down for sure, and how it's gonna how Chelsea and what's her name? Sheila. Sheila, how that's gonna go down. I don't know at the moment, but something's gonna happen.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know either, and I almost suspect does it play into New Year's Day again? Yeah, because Chelsea remember is in New Year's Day. She was one of the people that could have married Max.

unknown

Really?

SPEAKER_00

Do you not remember? It was Linda, Cindy, Denise, and Chelsea.

SPEAKER_01

But was that related to Max or was that just related to Cindy? Maybe it wasn't.

SPEAKER_00

I think I've made it up with Denise. I think it was Chelsea because she and Priya no, it wasn't Priya. It was there was four. It was Cindy, obviously. Linda Priya. No, it wasn't the mistress. Yeah, she's a mistress, but she wasn't she was never one of the four.

SPEAKER_01

Linda, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Chelsea and someone else.

SPEAKER_01

Interesting.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I know. They were the four suspects. But then obviously Ian's out for the Christmas special, so he obviously gets out. Yeah, I know he gets out because he has eight months, but I suppose that would be four.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and also he's I don't think it's gonna be a long it's gonna be a short stint, it's gonna get resolved. But it's gonna be. But Ian getting locked up is the best, I love it.

SPEAKER_00

But also a great way to come back for great as the actor that he is, is like he gets to come back for a stint, thinking he probably never would.

SPEAKER_01

As I thought it would be a little cameo, but he's really doing his home.

SPEAKER_00

I thought it was just gonna be a few scenes of him in prison to get Sheila, and then Sheila was gonna be the main part, but yeah, no, he's fully in the soap without being on the square.

SPEAKER_01

It was funny when Ian was on the phone and then Grey got the guys to like he gave him a vape.

SPEAKER_00

That's the currency these days.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, not crack, a vape.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and he's got his own room.

SPEAKER_01

He's got his own room because he's a psycho. Oh, Grey.

SPEAKER_00

I know, literally.

SPEAKER_01

How's Ian gonna survive?

SPEAKER_00

How is Ian gonna survive? Through Grey. That's how, because he's so scared. The only way that he can tap into Ian and manipulate him is through Ian's fears, and he has preyed on that from the moment he walked in. I know. I'm surprised though, obviously it's because it's C Senders, but like Grey's not being beaten left, right, and centre. He's a woman killer. Like these people don't like go down that well in prison.

SPEAKER_01

I know, but he's a psycho, so I think people fear like there's you know. Psychos do well because there's psychos in there. Do you know what I mean? Sometimes it depends. It's all about authority, isn't it? A lot of the time. It is, but there are peeds in prison. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I suppose it's he's not a P. He didn't kill children, did he? It was more women. Yeah, you're right, actually. Ian's just wanting to get by. He's just wanting to survive. So he probably even knows Grey's thing, but he does you know the thing about Ian is Ian is one of the biggest sellouts. He's just such a sellout.

SPEAKER_01

He will sell you out, he'll sell his own kids out. Literally down that boat.

SPEAKER_00

He probably knows that Grey is bad news, but he's willing to sell it out. I know, I know. That was another good scene as well this week. Was again the Denise, Chelsea, and Kim dynamic. Denise is just playing it so strong how she's like that. Is the way a mum speaks to your daughter when she's like, no, enough of this shit.

SPEAKER_01

And she's the matriarch of that family. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And um, it was so sweet when Chelsea was speaking to her, and she was like, Your opinion matters to me, and like, but she's doing the she thinks she's doing the right thing, which is the wrong thing. Typical Chelsea. We're letting Sheila into her life. And Kim's the sister, the auntie. They had a really sweet moment on the train. We love the foxes.

SPEAKER_00

I we love the foxes big time, big time. Also, doubt shout out to Diane Parish. I know following us on Instagram this week. We love you, Diane. What an absolute legend. And commenting on our thing. Respect that so much.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we love her. We love her and the scene with her and Jack got those.

SPEAKER_00

And we've got in the bed.

SPEAKER_01

I was in tears. Because Jack is such a great actor as well. He, when he's sad, I can't I can't cope. When Jack's sad, we sad.

SPEAKER_00

We sad. Oh, I know I keep saying that.

SPEAKER_01

Because they're showing as well how something like an illness can affect your marriage. And um Denise was like, This is not gonna affect us.

SPEAKER_00

And everyone goes through it, everyone goes through everyone that is done linked to that person goes through something in their own way, but then you're all trying to be good for each other, so it's like he's holding the house down, and then Denise was jealous of that, but he's like, I'm not coping because I miss you. I know.

SPEAKER_01

Oh god, and then he got jealous of the man in the hospital because what I love as well is when you're spending so much time in hospital, you it becomes your life, so you make friends in hospital, and it's yeah, you make friends with like the staff, and it's a new life you have to live, and they're showing that really well.

SPEAKER_00

And other people will never understand that bond, so he will be left out of that bond, but that is okay. Yeah, I did think he made it about him a little bit too much, not gonna lie. But he's struggling, and it's a good representation of what um family members have to go through, but he did make it way too much about him.

SPEAKER_01

All right, Jack, aren't you?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, literally. Um, but I do think, and I know I keep saying it, but they are playing out in a way that this is the end of Denise. I'm sorry, I'm not ready to accept it yet.

SPEAKER_01

Let me just enjoy it.

SPEAKER_00

I know I I couldn't be more heartbroken, but I don't I I would go to a chat.

SPEAKER_01

Jack's lost a wife already.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think there's any way. Oh, yeah, I know, Ronnie. Yeah. I don't think there's any way that this isn't leading to a death.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I think she's gonna beat it, so let's move on.

SPEAKER_00

We'll say one last thing on that before before we have a breakdown.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I can't.

SPEAKER_00

The reason I also think it is because I'm watching the Lola storyline at the moment, and similar seeds get planted throughout it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and it's gonna be a long storyline, so.

SPEAKER_00

We've got more of her, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It's gonna be Christmas, innit? Anyway, we discussed this last time and I can't cope.

SPEAKER_00

I know, I know.

SPEAKER_01

We'll send us into a bit longer.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we love you, Diane. We love you, Diane.

SPEAKER_01

So on that night, what's your final drift of?

SPEAKER_00

My final drift of is you're going in prison, take some vapes with you.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because Grace knocking about.

SPEAKER_00

That's my final drift of.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Stop vaping if you're going inside. Stop vaping. Get off the vapes, they're all full, wouldn't they?

SPEAKER_00

Guys, if you vape, what play would you like? Comment down below. No one ever comments what we ask them to comment. So you be the first person to comment what we're asking you to comment.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, come on, man. Comment. See ya.

SPEAKER_00

See you next week.
