What is going on? Everybody Turn the volume up. Power is back on for a Memorial Day weekend. Sunday afternoon, here over in the Mile High City of Denver, it's your boy, dylan Gotts, joining me, as always from Oney Maryland on this Memorial Day weekend, mr Cruz.
Speaker 2What is up, buddy? A little bit of technical difficulties, got the podcast off to a late start. We are here. It's Memorial Day weekend. It is 69 degrees outside right now.
Speaker 1How's the?
Speaker 2weather doing for you this weekend.
Speaker 1It is low 60s. It's thunderstorming currently over here. It's been overcast all weekend, so it's to be expected. So I believe the rest of my day will consist of rain, thunderstorms and a whole lot of gaming, so that's totally okay only if the EA servers would fucking work yo EA servers, get your shit together at least for me, it's only for fucking.
Speaker 2It's insane, whether it be on Valorant, whether it be on Call of Duty Warzone, whether it be on fucking EA, whether it be on Valorant, whether it be on Call of Duty Warzone, whether it be on fucking EA, whether it be NCAA or man 25, servers just hate me. I don't get it, but we make it work.
Speaker 1We make it work indeed, but yeah, seriously, ea servers figure it out with my boy Cruz over there. It's ridiculous. Nice championship belt, you're rocking there, mr Cruz. Um, nice set. Nice championship belt, you're a rock in there Mr.
Speaker 2Cruz Big gold. I always got to bring it out every now and then. Uh, just to remember that I'm fucking him.
Speaker 1That's right, you're fucking, you're fucking him, let's go. It feels good it feels good.
Speaker 2I mean it ain't gold, it feels good. It feels good, I mean it ain't gold. But it's damn near close.
Speaker 1I'll say that it's as close as it can be, as always, check us out for free on all podcast platforms. Leave reviews, comments, suggestions, feedback, x, y and Z. Whatever you want to say, don't matter to us. We'll put it out there for the masses and, of course, at DJ Power Hour on social media. It was Memorial Day weekend, of course. Nice little three-day weekend for the majority, four-day weekend for myself, but took Friday off because I can A couple things to get into on the program here. Of course, live. We got a playoff hockey. You got the Edmonton Oilers up 3-1 at the end of the second period against the Dallas Stars. That series tied 1-1.
Sports Weekend Roundup
Speaker 1Tigers ace Tyler Skubal. He threw his first complete game of his career. I believe yesterday struck out 13. The Indy 500 was today as well, Three-time IndyCar champ. I believe Albert Paolo wins his first Indy 500. Couldn't tell you anything about it, but it's always good to see Indy 500 back in action. I believe F1 had their race at Monaco, which is just always a ridiculous scene with all the boats and the yachts right by the water. The Grand Sands it's fucking ridiculous. Nba playoffs last night you had the Timberwolves game three at home against the OKC Thunder. They beat the piss out of OKC. Won by 45 points in game three.
Speaker 2What's going on with these games? Dude Postseason man. People are just getting fucking embarrassed. What is defense? Defense isn't a thing anymore.
Speaker 1Defense is not a thing anymore, bro. It's crazy. If I'm Adam Silver, I'm definitely a little concerned because these playoffs have been just fucking blowout city on all fronts. And then you got game three tonight Indiana Pacers at home against the New York Knicks. Indiana took the first two at New York. I mean a Pacers-Thunder matchup in the finals. Eww, that's not great, definitely not great for viewership, when viewership has been down in the NBA and is continuing to go down as well. But then you have Cooper Flagg getting drafted this year. He'll get into his rookie season, so I'm sure some viewership will increase there. The Baltimore O's won a game, cruz, just FYI.
Speaker 2I bet Rich is hype.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, I bet Rich watches every pitch. Yeah.
Speaker 2At least he finally has something to be excited about.
Speaker 1That is true, although he is at the beach this weekend, so he's enjoying some fun in the sun. The French Open, I believe, kicks off this week, if I recall correctly. I believe kicks off this week. If I recall correctly, roland Garros had a little tribute and a little display plaque of a footprint of Rafael Nadal. It says 14-time champ, so they paid ownership to him, of course. King of Clay. Nadal just absolutely dominated at the French Open, as always.
WWE Saturday Night's Main Event Review
Speaker 1And then, I think, last but not least on my radar, you had WWE Saturday Night's main event last night, which I'm going to be honest, if you all watched it. I am so sorry that you watched it. I also watched it. I am so sorry that you watched it. I also watched it. I watched it from start to finish and I don't know what I was thinking. But you know again, it is Memorial Day weekend, so it is what it is. But you had John Cena and R-Truth face off. I believe R-Truth came out in all of John Cena's gear and his music Also did his signature moves. During the fight, cena, of course, wins. The title was not on the line. You had Jey Uso and Logan Paul for the main event defending his title, jey Uso gets the win. There, of course, two big stories was Cody Rhodes returning to action first time since Wrestlemania comes in and basically um stops Cena's assault on Jay to ensure Jay wins the title. And then Cody Rhodes calls out Cena and Logan Paul. In two weeks, um, it will be a tag team match between Cody Rhodes, jey Uso versus Cena and Logan Paul at Money in the Bank held in LA. And then Bronson Reed made his return as well to Saturday Night Main Event. He joins the faction of Seth Frickin' Rollins and Bronson Reed, faction of Seth freaking Rollins and Bronson Reed.
Speaker 1In breaking news for the first time in 92 years, team USA wins gold at the World Hockey Championships. This was six minutes ago. How's that for breaking news? Okay, don't mean shit. For the first time in 92 years scored an overtime goal against Switzerland in the finals. Of course, the biggest upset was Denmark beat Canada, who was minus 3000 on the money line, I believe, in their first round matchup in the world hockey championship. But of course, memorial Day weekend, let's go Team USA. I mean, that's just how we fucking roll here. So, cruz, I was just saying Saturday night main event was ass. I watched it all, unfortunately, but it was on, so it's fine. We'll watch Money in the Bank in two weeks.
Speaker 2I mean it wasn't a PLE, so I mean I guess it was a PLE. I feel like PLEs are usually like either you buy them or they're streamed on a certain service, and this was just on NBC. But yeah, it was kind of fucking ass. Um, I I mean bronson reed was probably the biggest shocker uh of the entire night. Um, it was cool seeing him. Looks like he's in good shape, but definitely looks like he's coming back in with the vengeance after snapping his leg. Uh about uh snapping his ankle. I should, about a year ago, when he did that, dive off the cage, that double cage Hell in a Cell-type atmosphere. Yep, you know, it's good to see him. I did not really expect him to be the third member of the faction, to be honest with you Same.
Speaker 2I mean I would have seen a Becky Lynch coming before Bronson Reed, but you know, I mean I like it but it just seems like nothing but muscle. It seems like nothing but muscle. They still kind of need that other brain wisdom piece, kind of like a Ric Flair type or even like the charismatic side, because both really aren't shit on the mic. When you look at Bronson Reed and when you look at what's his name, braun Breaker, they're not that great on the mic. They need that charismatic young type of talent and I'm just very I still feel like the faction is incomplete with bronzer reed.
Speaker 2You know what I mean sure but um, also we were talking about how cody rhodes comes and helps and saves jay uso uh against uh against logan paul and john cena, against Logan Paul and John Cena, and I'm sorry, that's fucking terrible booking.
Speaker 2That is terrible booking in my opinion. I mean, the only reason you bring Cody Rhodes back in this instance is to turn him heel. In my opinion, is to turn him heel against jay uso, because if anything like cody roads, like there's, john cena hasn't had a true threat. It looks like he's just wrestling people on his farewell tour. Cody roads could be the final boss for john cena at the end of the year, but at the end of the day, like it just it end of the day, it feels forced, it feels old, it feels played out and nobody wants to see John Cena and Logan Paul tagging up against fucking Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso.
Speaker 1I know what is it Money in the bank, money in the bank.
Speaker 2What we wanted to see was CM Punk and John Cena go at it again. We wanted to see so many other things, but it's just. The Saturday Night main event just proved that and, like our buddy Grim said, wwe blew their load at WrestleMania back when Cody Rhodes won it. They just blew their load. They had no idea where to go from there and they're just making it up as they go. It's very unfortunate, especially for seeing his last run. Also, selena Vega, you were fucking terrible the other night man. You botched so hard almost looks like you could have broke Chelsea Green's nose and Chelsea Green's underrated I'm sorry, she is underrated as a wrestler and as a performer. She, she, she is like you should have seen the shit she was doing in underground. She is a dog and she's getting mistreated by Triple H and the booking department as well. But you know, selena Vega, you got to do better. I can't even remember what other matches. Oh yeah, damian Priest and Drew McIntyre.
Speaker 2Drew McIntyre. Drew McIntyre has been written off the show with that concerto shot for at least a couple of weeks. Guess he's getting a break, I don't know. Guess he's who knows what's going to happen. But when he comes back, I still don't care that he's fucking beefing with Damian Priest, bro, we've been seeing him for so long. It's the same old shit, like what is WWE doing. I have no idea. After this Saturday Night Event. I don't know about you, but to me they're dropping the ball. They're fumbling it like crazy and all at the same time they're raising fucking ticket prices to make it so that only the elite of the elite can afford to go to these things. It's fucking insane. They're pushing out the natural consumer, they're pushing out the true fans, and it's just. They're just. They're missing, man, they're missing.
Speaker 1And the Rock is just out there, who the fuck knows doing what God knows with who, where, when, and he may just fuck around and appear in Money in the Bank this time, just to like shut people up. But yeah, they're.
Speaker 2His name's about to be dropped in the Diddy trial. I fucking tell you, alleg his name's about to be dropped in the diddy trial. I fucking tell you allegedly his name. I guarantee you, his name is going to be dropped in the diddy trial. Yep. Yep, yep.
Speaker 1Allegedly let's be clear here. Allegedly Nothing. Nothing is a true. Um, yeah, there, no, there, there they're far and apart. The creativity side of the storytelling is just not where it has been and not where it needs to be. But whatever, I guess Triple H knows better than, I guess, us and the commoners. So what do we know there? All right, NFL had league meetings and some votes and X, Y and Z about changing rules. Cruz, you hit me to a rule change yesterday about the kickoff, which was really surprising because I definitely didn't hear about any of that. But I believe you said that they now have to for kickoffs. They now have to kick it in the return zone and cannot kick it in the end zone for a touchback or they start with the ball on the 40 yard line so this was told to me by a second party and I had the same reaction as you.
Speaker 2I was like that makes no sense, because they switched up the kickoffs so that kickoffs would be more safe for players and reduce injuries and concussions and stuff like that. And now it seems like they want to go back to having more returns, which could lead to more injuries and concussions. Doesn't make sense. But yes, I have heard that the NFL did change the kickoff format, that you have to kick the ball within the zone to be recovered that little like 15-20 yard area so that it can be returned, and if you kick it out of bounds or into the back of the end zone, it will now be brought up to the 40 yard line.
Speaker 1That's so interesting. I mean, it's very interesting.
Speaker 2Yeah, I guess, because I guess everybody was just kicking it out of the back of the end zone. Last year you very rarely had a bunch of returns. I mean, I guess I get it, but it also defeats the purpose of why you changed the kickoff in the first place, correct? I mean, who knows man, everybody just isn't making any fucking sense and the only people that have made sense, especially now when it comes to rule changes and I am saying this as a Commander fan is that they did not ban the Tush oh, perfect, perfect segue.
Speaker 1So you are a Commander's fan. You watched the Tush push pretty endlessly in the NFC Championship game, specifically when they were on like your six inch yard line for like six straight plays and you all tried to time to snap and whatnot. Okay, frankie, yeah, frankie Lou was just, yeah, he was, he was trying to be that dog and it just, it just didn't work. Um, all right, so you are fine with the tush push.
Speaker 2Yes, and it's so. There's a compelling argument against the tush push, and that is that the defense cannot stack up and push players from behind into the line of scrimmage towards the direction of the ball. It is called unsafe. It is essentially a rugby type play and you know, injuries happen that way.
Speaker 1Right.
Speaker 2But the competitor in me cannot sit there and essentially ban a play because one team is doing it better than everybody else.
Speaker 1One. It is one team and they're not cheating. They're not cheating, by the way.
Speaker 2Agreed, agreed. They're not cheating. They're not doing anything that anybody else can't do. They're just doing it better. They're doing it better. And to me, if you try to ban somebody because they're better than you ban, ban somebody because they're better than you ban a play, because they're better at you than running it, then you shouldn't be in the national football league right nut the fuck up, hit the weight room and fucking stop them.
Speaker 2It's that fucking easy, and if you can't do it, then they're just better at you than that play. And this is, as a commander's fan talking about the fucking eagles, a team that we have to get over the hump with Now, granted, that being said, now that the tush-push is cemented as legal in the field of play, I do feel like the defense should now be able to go ahead, stack up a line and go ahead and push players from behind.
Speaker 2I do think if you could do it on one side, you could do it on the other. There's no way that that's going to happen. That's all I'm saying. But then also I do believe if that were to happen, injuries are going to fucking pile up like it was freaking donuts in a bakery. I'm telling you, injuries are going to happen once that happens. And once that happens, then you will start to see the ban finally be implemented. But as of right now, get better. Get better, stop them, shut them up, and then we'll see what happens come injury time.
The Tush Push Debate
Speaker 1Yeah, look, I think it's totally fair for the defense to do the same thing as a tush push. You're doing your own tush push and it's to stop the tush push. I mean, that's basically what it comes down to and I think it is one. It's literally it is one team and if you know it's coming and you still can't stop it, well then that's on you at the end of the day. Like Tom Brady would always, when it was like fourth and one or fourth and inches, he would always hurry up in the offense, do a quick snap count and then he would do his little QB sneak. I'm pretty sure his conversion rate was probably 85%, maybe 90%. Drew Brees same thing. He would do his little leap of the arm and then pull it back when he was fourth and one or fourth and inches, just to get forward progress for the first down. He was also successful with that too. If a quarterback breaks out and does a speed option to the right and they toss it or keep it, I'm sorry. Teams like the Commanders, like the Eagles, like the Ravens, like the Bills, like the Chiefs, those mobile quarterbacks that you could also call that an unstoppable play at the end of the day, if you execute which direction it's going to go, the defense is going to win the majority of the time. But at the end of the day, that's also where this push for mobile quarterbacks are is because you have that arsenal in your, in your toolbox. I I think it's a joke. I think it's a joke that it's been a discussion to try and ban it the last two years. It's I think it's an absolute piss poor revelation on the nfl when it comes to its competitive nature and just essentially giving up on a play. It it's a play. It is one play. By the way, it's not a playbook, it is not a scheme, it is nothing. It is literally. We have this guy at quarterback whose leg muscle and power is off this planet and they have constructed and drafted and developed a superb offensive line and scheme and have had a running back now in Saquon Barkley back there helping with the play. You see times where tight ends will do a deep post route or a deep crossing route in the middle of the field and they're getting two guys hung on them. It's no different from their teammates coming and pushing everyone together to score a touchdown. The only difference is the situation of which the play is being called on and I don't think it's fair to try and have that separation, because if you're going to ban that, then if a player is essentially Tackled or locked up but he hasn't hit the ground yet and you see an offensive lineman or like two receivers trying to like Carry that pile of forward, call the play dead. I mean, just call the play dead as it is and go on. I'm all for the tush push. It's a bulldoze QB sneak. That's all it is. Yeah, that's all it is Like. It's not the conventional QB sneak. Who cares Like what?
Speaker 1The Bills also had success with it last year when they implemented it. The Bills also had success with it last year when they implemented it. The only problem was they couldn't implement it and execute it against the Chiefs in the AFC title game. But there are more teams that are constructed to do it. They're choosing not to do it and I don't want to hear this nonsense about choosing not to do it and I don't want to hear this nonsense about now. Look, jason Kelsey did say he took a beating on that play, especially if they ran it two or three times in a row, especially from the center position.
Speaker 1It's no different than it's literally no different from a regular X's and O's play-by-play standpoint, from an offensive and defensive line perspective. You're supposed to block, you're supposed to bulldoze your blocker, like I mean, that's literally it, and you can't look, you can't time the snap count, like Troy Palomalu did back in the day, or like an Ed Reed or a Ray Lewis, like those guys just don't exist anymore. Right, right, right right. But I do think, yeah, but I do think it's. I mean, it's no different.
Speaker 1At a goal line stand, like you're crowning the line of scrimmage in a goal line stand, I don't see why you can't do that. At, like, the 40-yard line for a touch push, I'm with you. I think you should 100% be able to stack the box, because if you're not going to stack the box there, you get down to the two or one-yard line, Guess what. You're stacking the box anyway. But it's a defensive goal line like play call specialty that allows it. I just think it's pansy, it's pansy, it's, it's. It's a Bush league move to try and ban something that one out of 32 teams is good at.
Speaker 2I agree, I agree, but all I'm saying is is, if one side could do it, the other side can do it. That's all I'm saying. But other than that, like we were talking about, you can't ban shit just because they're doing it better than you. You just can't.
Speaker 1No, you just can't. And you know what the Eagles were doing. I mean, they were doing pretty good before they had the tush push. I mean, did they do the tush push when they won in 2017 with Nick Foles as the quarterback in the Super Bowl? No, nick Foles threw for like 540 yards and fucking slayed Brady in the Super Bowl. We just can't be scared to let something new and a little bit innovative outside the box um, be a part of the of the gameplay here. And you know, you know analysts and, like you know, former players are calling it, you know, like a, an illegal play or this, and that?
Speaker 2No, it's not. It's no, it's not.
Fast Food Chicken Tender Rankings
Speaker 1It's just, it's ridiculous. That's what it is Freaking ridiculous. But we'll see. It's good for another year. You know, I'm sure next year they'll have the same conversation again when the Eagles go like 9 for 10 or they go like 97% this year, and I think they needed like eight votes, or I think eight more votes or seven more votes or something, to actually pass it. So it's making its way. It's making its way All right. I teased a chicken tender story last week that the Washington Post put out, that the Washington Post put out, and I got to tell you, chicken tenders, I kind of sleep on them. When it comes to fast food, it just depends on where you go, yeah 100%, it definitely does.
Speaker 1But like I know there are some places you know, like a Wingstop Like Cruz, I know you love Wingstop, but like you're not getting chicken tenders, you're getting like wings, right, cruz, I know you love wing stop, but like you're not getting chicken tenders, you're getting like wings Right, right. Yeah, you know what I mean. Like like KFC, same thing. Okay, maybe you'll get like a two piece tender combo, but like, more than likely, you're probably going to get you better. Go get a bucket of chicken. Like tender, like, like tenders are just slept on as a nation, in my opinion, for fast foods.
Speaker 1But you know what? There is a let me get her name right Emily Heal. For the Washington Post. She came out with her list of the top six best chicken tenders in fast food today, and now, of course, it's a list. So you're going to go from the bottom up, because, duh, that's exactly how it goes, and right at the bottom, right at the start, her list is wrong. Um, at number six, she has Raising Cane's as basically the bottom of the list, which to me is a joke. Now, look, raising Cane's is more. It's not everywhere, obviously, it's more like SEC, like Southern Louisiana, where it's kind of where it was born and raised and it's kind of expanded in that region. I know there are some on the West Coast. There's one right down the street from me, I think there's one in Virginia, is there one in Maryland? I don't know if they open to raising canes in Maryland.
Speaker 2I think there is. I think it's near Laurel, if I'm 100% on this. I know that they did do one because my buddy was talking about him and his kids going there and getting some Rage of Canes. But I hear it's really not all that.
Speaker 1I hear it's mainly the sauce. I mean the cane sauce is good. I will say I don't know.
Speaker 2It sounds a little bit too overhyped in my opinion, kind of like In-N-Out.
Speaker 1I mean, look, if you haven't tried it, I would do the exact same thing that I did for In-N-Out. It is worth a lot of hype for you to try. To me, in-n-out is terrible. The hype is not there. I think it's a joke when their prices increase one day, because they will're gonna look at in and out a lot differently.
Speaker 1Um, for those diehards, um, and yes, I got the animal style. I did all that shit. Like I lived, I, I could look out my apartment door and see in and out across the street from me, california. Okay, I lived across from one, never went to it. Um, yeah, she has raised the cane sticks. I, I just to me, they to me, they a little bit of crisp. Uh, on the outside, chicken chicken is always juicy. No, no issues there. The cane sauce is good and fuck it. You can add a piece of texas toast if you really want to. We really just spice it up a little bit there. Number five Now, this place just relaunched their chicken tender, so I'm actually surprised that it's on here. She put McDonald's at five. How many times is McDonald's going to take away items and then bring them back and then take them away and bring them back. They did it with the McRib, they did it with the big rib, they did with the snack wrap, they're doing it with their. Miss Crip McChrispy tenders like bitch pick. Are you in or out Like?
Speaker 2so so I will say this I recently was over, uh, me and me and my girl, we were sitting there, we were, uh, over at my sister's house, you know, just catching up, and we ordered some McDonald's and they were talking about the McCrispy tenders, yeah, and I was like, are those just like the Selects? And they were like, nah, nah, they're nothing like the Selects.
Speaker 1Really, the Chicken Selects are nothing like them.
Speaker 2Okay, I'll say this the Chicken Selects were way more breaded. The McCrispys were fucking banging. I breaded the mccrispies were fucking banging. I'm sorry, juicy, they had almost like a sweet flavor. So you know they were just like pumped with steroids and chemicals, oh fuck yeah they were good. They were good especially with the, with the two sauces the creamy sriracha, ranch sauce.
Speaker 1Yes, okay.
Speaker 2They're good. I will say that the McCrispies are pretty bad.
Speaker 1I'm not going to lie, I have not had them. Maybe I'll order some today and give them a try. Emily says McDonald's number five. The new chick on the block has a flavorful peppery coating and the meat was tender, but the shape, which was relatively flat compared with its rounder, more substantial competitors, wasn't as appealing. Despite the marketing push, the tenders are hardly a game changer.
Speaker 2I really want to know what her number one is, I'll get there.
Speaker 1Don't you worry, I'll get there. All right, number four KFC. Number four I don't know so KFC 11 herbs and spices from the kernel.
Speaker 2I've eaten a lot of KFC in my day. But, at the end of the day, kfc. Unless you get a super crispy type or something like that, the breading is always moist. It's always like wet chicken almost, and you know what. Sometimes you just kind of want to hate yourself when you're eating, and if you do that, you go for kfc. The fact that it's above both raging kane and mcdonald's yep it makes me question her integrity.
Speaker 2You know what I'm saying like you know. You know what I'm saying here. Yeah, it makes me question it, cause, like not for nothing she white Yo.
Speaker 1Am I wrong? Am I?
Speaker 2wrong, I don't know. Give me the last name. Give me the last name heel h-e-i-l but uh, you know what, uh, I have, I will. That being said, I have not had a KFC chicken tender in quite a while, so could it have changed, I don't know, but as a fat man that's had it way back in his prime, probably not number four on the list.
Speaker 1She says that the kernel secret formula of 11 herbs and spices were evident here. The strong flavor gives the tenders more of a classic fried chicken feel, as opposed to a neutral sauce-conveying vehicle.
Speaker 2That's product placement, bro, product placement. You got paid to say that, but like there's number number three on the list.
Speaker 1Wingstop just talked about it. I I've had their tenders a few times. They've been dry. From what I can remember they are. To me they're pretty dry, especially if you just go plain. But she says the chicken chain might be named for its signature bone-in options, but it has recently been focusing on tenders named for its signature bone-in options. But it has recently been focusing on tenders Reformulating the menu item to optimize it for sauce dipping. Although we tried their plain tender solo, we appreciated the crisp, craggy texture. On its own merits. The meat was tender too, imagine.
Speaker 2And I really hope if her or friend family member ever listen this take. I don't mean any disrespect, but your job is to get a bunch of different chicken tenders and write a play-by-play, detailed descriptive piece on every single one. That sounds poetic and it sounds like her talent should be used for so much more than describing what each fucking chicken tender tastes like. I don't mean any disrespect by this, because she's doing an L of a job describing fucking chicken tenders. What Like damn, that's an L of a synopsis for winged stock fucking chicken tenders. What, that is crazy. A synopsis for Wingstop fucking chicken tenders. Why, that is crazy. But that being said, I like Wingstop, I like their Hawaiian, I like their, I like some of their dry ribs.
Speaker 2I haven't had. Every time I've had a Wingstop chicken tender it's been dry as fuck. I've had to like drench it in a type of dipping sauce. So who knows, maybe she got a good batch. But that's listening to these descriptions of every single fast foods chicken tender is like she's way too overqualified to be doing that. That's fucking crazy, dude. She better put she better put.
Speaker 1She probably has Tysons and Purdue on her fucking speed dial. That's crazy. That's crazy Number. Alright, so now we have two and one.
Speaker 2Okay, I'll let you guess. I'm going to say this Popeye's better, popeye's better than 1.
Speaker 1Okay, and what do you think? What would you think is 2? I don't, I don't even know. Don't overthink it. I'll tell you this. I'll tell you this you got one right down the street from you all.
Speaker 2Chick-fil-A.
Speaker 1Yep, there you go. Chick-fil-a number two. Fans of this chain could no doubt pick its bird out of a lineup.
Speaker 2the marinated protein has a darker, nubby, nubbier, oh my god, I mean she ain't wrong, though like chicken is fucking banging.
Speaker 1It is banging, I got no problem with it being number two. Okay, while it's rumored that the distinctive flavor comes from a pickle brine, the listed.
Speaker 3Sugar, salt and SMG are more likely. What gives Chick-fil-A's offerings that familiar salty, sweet note?
Speaker 1and juicy texture, fantastic stuff, stuff. Again Chick-fil-A smacks at any given fucking time, it just does.
Speaker 2Dude, you always gotta go. If you're looking for a low-calorie, great macro type of meal, you gotta go for the Cobb salad. Switch out the dressing for the fat-free honey mustard, Then you get grilled chicken bites on top of that bitch. I'm pretty sure it's only like 500 calories, like 30 grams of protein, and you'll be set. And it's also like $10.
Speaker 1So definitely a good one. It's pretty great. I mean Chick-fil-A's pricing has not skyrocketed as much as other places, so good for them. And number one, it is Popeye's, mr Cruz, it is Popeye's number one best chicken tender. According to Emily Heal, her synopsis here, the tenders here are standard bears. They're crispy even long after you've left the drive-thru window and the breading hits. That Goldilocks balance of light but still substantial. Wow.
Speaker 2I've never heard anybody talk about chicken tenders the way Miss Heal talks about chicken tenders. But you know what? It makes me want to get some fucking Popeyes. I'll tell you that.
Speaker 1The meat was flavorful and briny, with none of the stringiness or mushy qualities of a lesser bird. Popeyes is still the bird to beat Jesus Christ. Well, at least he finished strong.
Speaker 2I'll say that she finished strong. I'll say that she finished strong. Popeye's is the best things now, man. I mean, I know a lot of people they're not fans of Popeye's and I'm just like how? Because it's definitely the best, if not the best, chicken spot out there. But you know, I guess everybody has their own flavor palates.
NFL Schedule Predictions: Weeks 9-18
Speaker 1Everyone has their own bird of choice. If I had to take a guess there, alright. Last but not least, this is part two of the 2025 NFL season schedule predictions. Last week was part one. We did weeks one through eight. I believe Mr cruz and I both had our teams at six and two respectively. Uh, to give you a recap there for the broncos week one, it's a win at home against the titans. Week two it's a win at indy. Week three is a is a no. Week 3 is a loss At LA, it's the first division game of the season. Week 4 is a win At home we get some bangles bounce back. Week 5, it's a loser at Philly. Week 6, beat the Jets. Week 7, beat the Giants. Week 8, beat the Cowboys and my brother-in-law will probably not speak to me for the rest of the calendar year and it is what it is, but we've beaten them like five of the last six times, so we're going to keep that going and then to recap on the commander schedule.
Speaker 2It was week one at versus the Giants, that's a dub. Week two at Green Bay, we do the upset. Week three, versus the Raiders, that's a dub. Week four we go ahead. It's a repeat of the season finale. First at Falcons at Atlanta, we go ahead and we get the upset again. Week five we get brought down back to earth and we lose to the Chargers in LA. Go ahead and beat Chicago again for six, seven and take Dallas at Dallas Eighth and at Alright.
Speaker 2And then we go to week nine and I'll go ahead and I'll start it off. Okay, Week nine, we are back at home. Ed and Clay. Seattle Seahawks. Sam Darnold.
Speaker 1Sam Darnold.
Speaker 2Sam Darnold, missing a whole lot of what Out in Seattle. I mean, don't get me wrong, they have a scary defense. They're more of a defensive-minded team in my opinion now, especially with the minus of what is it? Tyler Lockett and DK yeah, dk. You know they only have one weapon in Jackson Majigba. Take away him. Take away whoever the running back is. It's going to be healthy. I feel like you can go ahead and you can limit Sam Darnold, especially if you get some pressure. Take away him. Take away whoever the running back is going to be healthy at the time. I feel like you can go ahead and you can limit Sam Darnold, especially get some pressure against him. He did time and time again when he was playing for Minnesota. Can't really handle the pressure too well. You take the quarterback out of the Jets but you can't take the Jets out of the.
Speaker 2I think that that's going to be a dub and progressing us to a 7-2 record.
Speaker 1Okay, okay, okay. Week 9, we go to Houston and face the Texans and third-year man CJ Strout and company. I think losing Laramie Tunsell is going to rear its ugly head in this game for the Texans. I think the pass rush in that defense is going to be all over Stroud. I think ultimately it's going to be a lot of reliance on Joe Mixon and Damian Pierce game. They're obviously down a receiver.
Speaker 1I believe it was either Nico Collins or Tank Dell that shredded their knee to just all hell. They're going to miss the entire season. So you're going to have to have a guy like you know, john Menchie, try and step up and fill that role. They lost Diggs last year. Dalton Schultz is still a good tight end so he could give some fits early, but I think it's going to be too much pressure on CJ Stroud. I think he has a bounce-back year compared to his sophomore slump. But I think this game is going to be very defensive, heavy between the Broncos defense and D'Amico Ryans, and I think we do just enough to get the win. More like a 21-17 type slug battle.
Speaker 2Hey, it does the dub. At the end of the day, man Dubs the dub. I like it.
Speaker 1I like it, dubs the dub at the end of the day. All right, so now we go to week 10. We are at home against the Raiders. Raiders, of course, got Geno Smith, got Ashton Gienti, brock Bowers, jacoby Myers. Look, the Raiders almost swept us last year and they would have swept us if it wasn't for a pick six by Pat Sertain the second defensive player of the year, by the way to turn the tide to that game in the first matchup when Gardner Minshew was at the helm, and then, of course, we kind of blew it out the water in the second game.
Speaker 1By week 10, raiders should be in pretty fluid motion from an offensive standpoint, but I think their defense is still ass, outside of Max Crosby and Christian Wilkins. It's going to be at home. It's going to be early November. This is where you need to really understand who you are. I think we'll take it at home against the Raiders. I don't think GNT goes off in this game, but I think he will go off in a game when it's all said and done and done, barring any setbacks or injuries on the defensive side. I think we'll hold them pretty well in the first half and the offense will do what it does and score like 17 to 20 points in the second half and make it not competitive.
Speaker 2Fair enough, I do like it. Week 10, we are at home against the Detroit Lions Divisional round matchup. Ooh. So I'll say this the Detroit Lions were heavily injured last year. They had a lot of key players and rotational players hurt for that game. That being said, their roster is so deep and the coaching is so good that they still made it out as, I believe, what was it? The number one seed in the playoffs. They still performed, they still did what they had to do, because they're just that good of a team. I feel like, especially at Week week 10, it's all going to come down to injury at this point. Uh, who's going to be in? Who's going to be out? Um, I'll say this if aiden hudgenson is up and running, he's clear uh, it, it's, it's going to be a totally different game.
Speaker 3Yeah, it's going to be a totally different game. It's going to be a totally different game. That dude's.
Speaker 2If he's anything like, if he's on par with the way he last season, he's going to completely. That being said, we, especially this offseason, I've got some offensive. That being said, don't know if we're ready to push a line offense. So I think we get humbled. I think Detroit gets their payback. And I think we get humbled. I think Detroit gets their payback.
Speaker 1And I think we take a loss at home.
Speaker 2That's fair. Yeah, I mean, you know it's. You know, I do think we're a better team, but I do think the Lions are more complete, and if they weren't more complete during the game, the divisional round, it would have been a. But that being said, we're going to Week 11, and we are playing Miami. Pretty sure, fucking Spain, something like that.
Speaker 1Yep, you're going to. You're going to Madrid.
Speaker 2Yeah, madrid, at that point you can't really call it a home game or an away game. It's just people that want to come and see NFL football. That being said, I feel like Miami lost a lot of key defense. The only player we really have to worry about is A-Chain, if he's healthy and if he's back to be, and then Tyreek Hill. I like our chances in Madrid. I like and I fit, and we will be 8. What eight and three on the year going into week 12?
Speaker 1I believe week 12 is your bye week.
Speaker 2It is just like you.
Speaker 1That's right, week 11, we are at home against Kansas City, first of the two matchups against them. Look, it's no secret, Kansas City has owned the entire AFC West and the Broncos since Pat Mahomes has taken over at quarterback. I think we are seeing the changing of the guard with the Chiefs regime. When it's all said and done, kelsey is another year older. Rasheed Rice is a dog if he was on the field. Pacheco. You know Kareem Hunt Pacheco.
Speaker 1Since that injury he's kind of like a plug and play rotational piece now, even after he was a starter. They lost Joe Thune on the line. I think the first matchup we will get at home, um. And then I think that I will say the Chiefs will ruin Christmas for me, um, and when they, when they play the Broncos at Kansas City Christmas night, um, but I have us winning the home matchup against Kansas City. Uh, when it's all said and done, andrew Reid's a great coach, but that defense always gets to Mahomes and troubles him, and I think the offense is going to learn a lot by the time they get to this game, especially how they played last year against the Chiefs, when they should have beat them in Kansas City the first go around they had a game-winning field goal blocked. So I think another year under the offense's belt continuity-wise will be good. So that puts us at 9-2 going into the bye week of Week 12.
Speaker 29-2. Woo-wee, okay, I like it. 9-2.
Speaker 19-2. Yeah, I mean, they started off rough and then flipped it and turned it on in the second half, so I'm hoping they can start right this time. All right, so now we get Week 12, bye week for both teams and then we go into Week 13. It is a Sunday night football matchup. Thanksgiving weekend will be ruined for somebody here because the Broncos travel to Northwest Stadium. Is that the fuck? You all are? Northwest fucking stadium, northwest stadium?
Speaker 2I don't know, I don't know.
Speaker 1Northwest but we in the mid-Atlantic. It makes complete fucking sense to me, right, I know.
Speaker 2It's crazy.
Speaker 1Broncos come in to prime time to play the Commanders. Are you going to that game?
Speaker 2It depends. It depends because how much tickets are going to be. If any people I know have extra tickets that they will be if have available and then three. It depends on if you're coming into town.
Speaker 1That's, that's a big, that's a big indicator right there.
Speaker 2If you're coming into town, then you know obviously place here Also. If you're coming into town, then you know obviously play some here Also, if you're coming into town, go to the game as well and to have a hell of a time while doing it and watching both of our teams slug it out in Northwest Stadium.
Speaker 1God willing, both teams slug it out. God fucking willing. God willing, both teams slug it out, god fucking willing.
Speaker 2It's pretty much the battle of concepts. It's a battle of defense versus offense. At this point, which one's going to give first? And you know, I feel like our defense is just good enough to keep your offense at bay. I feel like our defense is just good enough to go ahead and give Bo Nix enough problem. Take away the one receiver you have.
Speaker 2And you know what happens with the Russian game. You know, frankie and Bobby, it's pretty much going to come down. Jaden Daniels gets staked, and can he survive, with Debo being the main threat, because PS2 is going to cover it all. That's pretty much what it's going to come down to. And if our offensive line stand up, I like us, man, I do, I like us. I think it's going to be a dub. I think it's going to be a close game all the way until six minutes left in the fourth, and then we go up by ten. It's going to be a low scoring game. I think it's going to be like 24-13-27. But you know, I do Excuse me and we go ahead and we are nine and three.
Speaker 1Yep.
Speaker 1Nine and three, I think. First of all Bobby Wagner old Bobby, old man and we got Evan Ingram. You know we brought in Evan Ingram as a tight end who's been nothing but a baller his last year with the Giants and then the couple years he had in freaking Jacksonville he just racked up over 100 catches and was basically the leading receiver. And then he got hurt this year leading receiver and then he got hurt this year. I think for me. I know our defense is good enough to stop your offense a little bit. I know that. I know that A little bit.
Speaker 2Not a lot of it A little bit.
Speaker 1I know that we can take away Terry McLaurin for the game. It's going to be interesting to see what they do with Jahan Barron. Do they put him on Debo and just say here, you two track these two, or are they going to move him around more? That's going to be interesting to slide in there. Riley Moss, the Tunsell pickup, I think, will rear its good fortune head in this case. I think that you will be able to stop that left side of the line, but your right side is garbage, with what's to come Is that Cosby's going to come back, and then Josh Connolly If he's anything he's cracked up.
Speaker 1That's a big if.
Speaker 2Giving up what like a sack or two in his entire collegiate career.
Speaker 1This is the big leagues man. This is the big leagues right here.
Speaker 2Exactly, and if he's anything he's cracked up to be, this is going to be what? Week 12? He's going to have 12 weeks under his belt to get used to NFL speed. I'm not saying that y'all ain't going to get a sack, because y'all will definitely get at least one or two sacks. But if you're telling me the right side, with Sam Cosby and Josh Carley Jr, is going to be completely exposed, that's crazy. That's crazy.
Speaker 1And what about your center, biotich, biotich yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 2He's a good one.
Speaker 1Okay, well, I didn't interrupt you when you were talking about your breakdown of the game, but it's fine, whatever. Here's also what it's going to come down to the last six minutes of the first half or the fucking fourth quarter. Do we Contain Jane and Daniels Enough where we don't get Beat at the end of the fucking game? I'd like to think we do, and it's going to pain me because I love Jane Daniels. I think a year of film under defense's belts with Cliff Kingsbury's play calling is going to be a big factor for us, because a lot of it was quick game screens and get the ball out. Then you get hit with a deep bomb to Terry, just on the fucking move out the blue I don't have. I don't think your defense will be okay. I think our defense and offensive collectively is going to be just enough put together, more than your offense and defense for the commanders. And just because that's fair, I mean, look, look, we got Greenlaw, who we brought in. We got Hufunga who we brought in.
Speaker 1Your secondary is unproven. Okay, let's just make that clear. Greenlaw is coming off of an ACL tear. What are you talking about? Bobby Wagner is like 46 years old. He can't move side to side anymore, man. Your secondary got exposed. Marshall Lattimore was a bust last year when you traded for him. You know who I do know isn't a bust Defensive player of the year. It's Pat Sertade II Hufunga, which you love. The second Hufunga, which you love. You love Hufunga, I love Hufunga. I did it like three years ago.
Speaker 1Okay, well, don't matter, he here now.
Speaker 2It's gonna be a fun game. It's gonna be a fun game.
Speaker 1If it's a blowout in any one way, I'm gonna be really disappointed. I'm gonna be really fucking disappointed. I'm going to be really fucking disappointed.
Speaker 2I think it's going to come down to the final two possessions of each team to see if they can pull ahead. All I'm saying is the game in the fourth quarter, taking J Daniel every single time.
Speaker 1I'll take my defense until bo nicks can do something more we'll agree to disagree we'll, we'll agree until november 30th at about 11 30 pm. All right, now we go to. Now we go to week 14. So now, now I have us at, I believe, 11-2, you know, 13 weeks in, or sorry, I guess 10-2. Yeah, 10-2. Not only do we go to Vegas week 14, this is where we have a letdown after the big Sunday Night Football win and Ashton Gentry goes bonkers for like 130-something yards and two touchdowns. Brock Bowers just sits in the middle of the field all day and I think the Raiders pissed me off at the beginning of December and get a big home win, if we're being honest, and it takes us to 10-3. Okay, that's fair. Big home win if we're being honest, it takes us to 10-3.
Speaker 2Okay, that's fair. Then we got week 14. We are Minnesota against the Vikings.
Speaker 1JJ McCarthy.
Speaker 2JJ McCarthy.
Speaker 1It all depends on JJ McCarthy in my opinion, because Justin Jefferson is going to get his.
Speaker 2Exactly, Justin Jefferson is going to get his. Exactly, Justin Jefferson is going to get his. If Jordan Addison is healthy, that's going to be a problem. If TJ Hodgson is healthy which he probably won't be he'll get his. He'll at least get at least 50 yards. Aaron Jones, their defense is always going to be on par, especially with Brian Flores going ahead to leave the helm.
Speaker 3I want to say we get a loss here, man Don't think we.
Speaker 2I think they're the more complete team. And if JJ McCarthy is all he's cracked up to be, which I really don't think he is but if he is and he's settled into the system and we will be 10-4 at that point, going into week 15. 9-4, I'm sorry.
Speaker 1No, you're right 10-4?
Speaker 210-4, because of the bye week 10-4 going into week 15, where we are at New York against the Giants. I said it last week. I said the right trajectory of A, b to be at a convention. I think I'm going to go with Shane, so I'm just going to go ahead and set the end of the job.
Speaker 1That's fair. Look, first of all your back-to-back weeks of shit-talking-to-your-boy and then you got to go and shit talk against your girl. No, it's going to be rough my emotions are going to be all over the place.
Speaker 2I'm not going to have anybody to talk to. It's going to be rough, but you know what? That's what we're in it for, man. That's what it's all about.
Speaker 1It's a little rough there. Yeah, week 15, we're at home against Green Bay. I think we lose this game. I do like this Packers team with Josh Jacobs at the helm. He did a really good job coming in last year in replacing Aaron Jones. Jordan Love has so far performed above probably expectations, especially from where he was drafted and he had to wait forever and eternity to get in. Packers are a good second half team in the Jordan Love era. I think their defense is potentially a sieve, but their offense can also put up like 34 points when it's all said and done and they can move the ball. I think it's just going to be a really good testament to Jordan Love and really kind of conquering this Broncos defense which in the second half last year was I don't know if it could have been exhaustion. It could have been just being carried a little bit too much while they let the offense get figured out on the rookie quarterback. But I think the defense by this point might be a little taken aback by some of the firepower Green Bay can have and I will give the Packers some kudos. I think they will come in to Denver and beat us, which would be unfortunate, but it is what it is. That would put us at, I believe, 10 and4 going into Week 16.
Speaker 1We are at home against the Jaguars. This is a trap game if I've ever seen a trap game. Brian Thomas Jr is going to be a boss. The Jaguars are not really going to have a rushing game. Travis Hunter is going to be a receiver or a corner.
Speaker 1By this point, I don't think he will be doing both. Trevor Lawrence got his bag on paper and revisionist history would tell you that he should come in and ball out, but I think it's a win for the Broncos. I think it's going to be a turning point for the Jaguars' future in regards to their quarterback. I think a rookie head coach in Liam Cohen is not going to come in and get the job done this late in the season against this team. I think T-Law will struggle and you're going to hear major rumblings about what the Jaguars can do to kind of move on from him. Yes, they paid him a lot of money, but you got Brian Thomas Jr who's going to flourish. Travis Hunter could flourish at one or the other, but their defense is a problem and their defense will continue to be a problem at the end of the day yeah, that's fair.
Speaker 2I mean, I don't hate it, man y'all are going to be. I'm calling y'all for at least y'all are at least going to finish second in the division, if not take the division, especially from the Chiefs. I feel like the Chiefs are kind of in like a hangover, like stage right now. Yep, you know, I feel like the success is kind of lax bit lost. It all depends on this year's response. Yeah, week 16, we go ahead and even though week 15 started it off, six matters. It'll be what decides the NFC East and week 16. On a Saturday we are playing the Philadelphia Eagles at home. I think we lose this one.
Speaker 1Okay, is that a sweep by Philly?
Speaker 2We haven't played them the second time. Ah, okay, okay okay, we go Philly, Dallas and then Philly.
Speaker 1NFC East to end, it Got it.
Speaker 2I feel like we lose right, like we have a little bit of, you know, usually Washington, they kind of stall when they can go ahead and they can take. You know, josh Carpenter, you're just going to go against Eagle 7. Josh Carr against Eagles 7 Alabama players, first time, you know. I think it's just we're going to make too many mental errors at that point and I do see us Eagles, which gives us four, four losses on the year. So that would be going into week six, going into week 17. We are playing on Netflix that's interesting at home against Dallas and we go ahead and we sweep to give us an 11 and 4, 12-4 record. It's got to be 12-4 record against the Dallas Cowboys.
Speaker 2I still don't think Dallas has done enough to be a contending team at this point. I think, let's be honest, contending team at this point. I feel. I feel At this point, let's be honest, dax probably hurt at this point and we're going to hear about all these rumors about how Michael Jackson's leave team and all the. At that point, we that had Brother Loveit one Dad, dad, brother-in-law. Love it.
Speaker 2That's fair.
Speaker 1Yeah, I mean, dak could very well be hurt by then. Brother-in-law will be up in arms and the media won't know what to do. Dak's getting paid all his money again. He's hurt. Yada, yada, yada, yada, week 17.
Speaker 1We are Christmas night, thursday night, football on Amazon Prime at Kansas City. The Chiefs will ruin my Christmas night and they will beat the Broncos. I think at this point in the season it's going to be Broncos have to win the last two to either capture the division or to get into the playoffs, and the Chiefs will have to win to secure the division more than likely, which is what's going to happen. Yep, it will be a dark Christmas. It will be an early Christmas night over here in Denver, unfortunately, but they will take that from us, which will then put us in a Week 18 situation against the Chargers at home. That puts us at, I believe, 11-5 going into Week 18.
Speaker 1Thinking about this game a lot, in the scenarios, either the Broncos would have to win to get in and the Chargers would be mathematically eliminated, so it wouldn't matter kind of a repeat of last year for the Broncos, or or this is going to be for seating purposes and the Broncos will need to win. I think they're going to play their starters regardless. This is going to be at home. To close out the season, I will say and because this is also revisionist history, I will say the Chargers sweep us and we're going to finish 11-6, because any other time I've had the Broncos go 12-5 or somewhere in that realm they're nowhere close. So we're going to go 11-6.
Speaker 1Just based on recent history, it's going to be still an improvement year over year. I think 11-6 will still get us into a wild card spot at minimum. We'll love for them to be 12-5 and have a higher seed going into the AFC. But you know, the AFC could be a minefield depending on. You know how the Bengals do the entire year. Of course you've got the Ravens, you've got the Chiefs and you've got the Bills. It's just it could be a dog-eat-dog world and I think 11-6 could put you into like a six seed and then you could either get a favorable matchup or you could have to go into, you know, like a Baltimore or a Cincinnati or a Buffalo and, you know, maybe get drummed again. Who the fuck knows. I hate the Chargers, I want us to win, but'm I'm gonna go with the loss and they're gonna ruin the new year for me damn, that's a.
Speaker 2you know that's a realistic fan right there. I'm pretty sure he got roasted on TikTok for being a realistic fan. But uh, god forbid. Week 18, this game is to be decided, and I'm pretty sure that's because. Talk for being a realistic fan. But God forbid, damn right, week 18, this game is to be decided, and I'm pretty sure that's because of the implications that this game could possibly have.
Speaker 2Week 18, we are at Philadelphia, possibly for the division, possibly for who even knows, first or second seed. I think we split the. I think they beat us at home and we beat them at Lincoln Financial to close out the year. I think if this team were to get over the hump, it would have to be at Lincoln Financial because, who knows, we very might as well be playing at Lincoln Financial season time yet again. I think that it's just time to have done what we can, at least this year time, you know, have done what we can, at least this year, in my opinion, the best, and it'll come down right to the wire. I think it's going to be a close game. I think it's down if Jaden has a factor as an actor. That being said, I'm pretty sure that 12 and 5 would take us to the 12 and 5. That being said, that might not be enough to take the Eagles. You know the Eagles 13-14 games and we're wildcard edition. We're yet again do it again 12-and-5 on the year.
Speaker 2I think, we ain't there yet.
Speaker 1I think you were 12-5 last year, right, got the NFC title game 12-5. Yeah, well, that's pretty good right there. Well, yeah, I feel you 12-5 for us probably might not get done in the division either. So you just, yeah, got to fucking work with what you got, all right. So you got the Commanders finishing at 12-5. We got the Broncos finishing at 11-6. Both winning records. Both should get into the playoffs For sure, for sure. I mean, it's going to be a fucking mystery here. Oilers, wow, oilers, wow, oilers blew out the stars 6-1. Okay, we got that going on there. All right, we are done for this Memorial Day weekend, excited to cook some burgers and some dogs tomorrow. My guy, it's about as American as you can fucking do honestly. It's about as Americans you can fucking do honestly.
