What's up, everybody? Welcome to the Healing Heart Experience. Oh my lord, I am your host, Taylor Brandy, and I'm back, y'all. I'm back. I know, I know, I know, I know. Y'all, I'm not gonna lie to you. I was supposed to only take like a week or two break. Y'all end up taking four months. Four whole months. Let's just be honest, right? And honestly, it wasn't. Let me tell y'all something. Delayed obedience is still disobedience. I'ma just say that. Delayed obedience is still disobedience. And we was delaying, so we was disobedient, right? But we thank God and we're so grateful that He has seen us through these last few months and actually just been doing a whole bunch of stuff. Just been doing a whole bunch of stuff. And I cannot wait to get into it with y'all tonight. Um, first of all, let's talk about the fact that um y'all, obedience. I ain't gonna be able to get off of that tonight. All right, all right, we're gonna go. Y'all, I've been stuck on obedience for like the last couple of weeks. I don't know what it is, but God has just really been working with that, even like in my Bible studies and things of that nature, it's just been like stuck in that space on that word in that time. First of all, let's just talk about how I struggled with that for such a long time with being obedient, and not just because I didn't hear, not because, not even just because, not because I didn't hear the Holy Spirit telling me um what it was that he needed me to do, but because I didn't want to do it, and because I didn't want to do it, I acted like, okay, yeah, no, I didn't hear that correctly. I don't know what that was that I was just hearing, but it definitely wasn't it, because Taylor wanted to do what Taylor wanted to do, Taylor wanted to do it how Taylor wanted to do it, and in that particular place, I just really did not understand what God was trying to do because I said, Lord, what is this that you got going on? So, y'all, this particular year, 2026, right in the early in the year, um, I actually ended up leaving my corporate nine to five job. I know, I know, sounds crazy, right? Sounds crazy, but um, a job that I had been at for almost 11 years. Almost 11 years, actually, yeah, it would have been 11 years if I'm correct. Yeah, it would have been 11 years. Um, no, this year was 11 years. I'm sorry, this year was 11 years, but that's either here nor there. Um, and before let's just talk about the context of even what even led up to me doing this. Before I did this, I knew in my spirit that God had something going, like he was brewing something, and I felt it, and I was just like, God, what is it that you need me to do? And the first time I ever heard that I would be transitioning from this job, the first thing that he said to me after saying, Hey, you know, basically this is what you're gonna do, he said, but you'll lack for nothing. And part of me was like, Okay, I know the God that I serve is not a liar. However, I don't know if I can do that. I got two kids, I got a house now, I have all these bills, I have all these different things going on. I don't know if I'm gonna be able to move. And let me tell y'all something. I held on to that job, baby. I held on to that job, high water, whatever you want to call it. I held on to it because I began to feel a shift even in the space that I was in. I was feeling this shift, y'all, and I was like, God, I don't know if I can do this. I don't know if I can just walk away from something that I've spent over a decade at. And I just, you know, I need you to make this extremely clear. Like, I need you to make this so clear that I couldn't deny it if I wanted to. Um, and I just remember like one night just praying, and I was like just in a space where it was like, what am I doing? Because the job had gotten so uncomfortable, you know, I wasn't happy, I wasn't, you know, um able to successfully do the things that I need to do. You know how you just get that feeling when you know it's uncomfortable and it's like a shift in a way. Um that's what I begin to feel, like just like overwhelmed all the time. And I just knew. I just knew that it was it was time. So that day came where I said, okay, God, I'm gonna move, I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna trust you, and I'm gonna step out on faith and go forward in this. But let me tell y'all, he didn't leave me without. He did not leave me without. I ended up starting my um bakery and well bacon business, and um, it's been amazing thus far, and God is just so good. But I want to talk a little bit about the obedience and the hearing um God's voice in the midst of what I actually had to go through. In that situation, I had so many people tell me, girl, you crazy, girl, you're a fool. Why would you do that? You've been there so long in this economy. Now y'all know with all that's going on in this world, to the human eye, is you crazy? Is you cool, girl? Is you alright? Like, do you really think this is the time for you to be doing this? You gonna do what? You been there how long? All the words, all the sentences, everything that you could think of was being put into my ear prior to me exiting. And it really helped to delay my move because I was like, oh god, they kind of got some points here. Like, what's going on? But what I've learned in the midst of this is the day that I said to myself, I know Taylor knows what the spirit of the Lord told her, and she needs to do what she knows that she heard, and so I did it, and so I did, and in the midst of doing that, um, let me tell y'all something in this season. One thing that I've learned is that you need to know the voice of God for yourself, you need to know the voice of God for yourself. If you are going to be able to step out and do what God has called you to do, move how He has called you to do, both in obedience and faith, you need to know the voice for yourself. There are going to be many voices around you, but you need to know which one is the one that comes from him. And in this particular moment, in this particular place, when I walked away from my job, I walked away with the faith and the trust to know. Well, the faith knowing that I heard what I heard from the Spirit of the Lord, one, and trusting that he was going to carry me all the way through, that he didn't just take me to leave me here. You get what I'm saying? He didn't just place me in this position and then say, Oh, I'm just gonna drop it in and walk away. No, he's carrying me through, and I had to hold on to the word that he gave me that I would lack for nothing, even prior to me moving into this position, and with that, it just brings me to a place where I need for people to know you have to know the voice of God for yourself. There are going to be people who are going to tell you different, they are going to tell you what they believe, what they see, what they feel. And listen, a lot of times people mean well, they mean well, they really do. However, you've got to know God for yourself. You've got to know it for yourself because guess what? Your obedience in this season counts on it. Your, your, your, your, your next step counts on you knowing the voice of the Lord for yourself. The next thing that you do is counting on you to know the voice of the Lord for yourself. Yes. That's where we have to get in this space, in this walk. You have to get to a point where you hear the spirit for yourself. You hear the spirit of the Lord for yourself, you know his voice for yourself, and you can take hold of that and say, Okay, God, I'm moving, I'm being obedient, I'm doing what you have called me to do. I hear you clearly. And and and I never said that, he never said it was gonna be easy, but he said, I'm going to be with you, I will be with you, right? And so when we get to that space, you know, matter of fact, I'll give you, I'll give you this. The Bible tells us in um Isaiah, oh, don't get me a sword me, Isaiah 30 and 21, if I'm correct, that whether you turn to the left, you turn to the right, or the right, or to the left, whichever way it is, right? Your ears will hear a voice behind you, right? Behind it, that will say, This is it, this is the way, walk in it, right? In that scripture, and y'all know I always gotta break it down to you just for a second. In that scripture, if we think about behind you, behind you, we're talking about God being behind you, right? Sort of like a shepherd to his flock, right? Um, and or like a shepherd to his flock, yes. And he is literally behind you walking, and he's he's he's taking you there. It's telling you that he won't leave you, he won't leave you there. He's not just going to put you in a ditch and then walk away and say, Ah, no, I'm leaving you there. He's not going to hand you the map. Here you go, Dora. Go exploring and leave you all by yourself. No, he's going to continue to be with you. And then as we begin to go into a little bit more of the scripture, it tells us uh to the right and to the left, right? Talking about our own wandering, our own desires, wanting to be here and wanting to be there and going there, but God being with us because he's what always behind us, right? He's always going to correct us and get us back into center, get us back into that place where we can hear from him. But see, here's the kicker of it knowing, knowing how important it is and the need to listen. You've got to be able to tune everything else out so you can hear the voice of God. You've got to be able to tune everything and everyone else out so you can hear the voice of God for yourself. You've got to know his voice for yourself in this season. There is no way around that. There is no way around that. If you don't know God for yourself, it just ain't gonna work. It just ain't gonna work. You've got to know when God is speaking, when the voice of the Lord is speaking, when the spirit of the Lord is speaking to you, to you, you've got to know that. And I knew that after I decided to let go of Taylor's desires, what Taylor wanted to do, how Taylor wanted to do it. I knew, I knew what I knew, and I knew what I heard, and I received that. But I say this to you because I feel that in this particular season, so many people are fighting to know what God sounds like. They want to know the voice, but they just can't, they can't tune out everybody else. Because, like I said, there are going to be so many voices, there are going to be so many things that you're hearing, but you just gotta know how to wrap that thing up and put it on the sideline because it's not you gotta know how to lower it, how to lower it, how to make everything else this low so that you can hear God this high, so that you can hear him above all else. But the only way to do that is by literally being in prayer, staying in your word. The moment that I was able to draw near and bring myself to the space where it was me and God, where only what he had to say mattered, where only what he wanted from me mattered, and forget about what they thought about you because I'm pretty sure people thought I was crazy, people probably still think I'm crazy, people probably talk about me, people probably walking over me, whatever you want to say about it, right? But being able to focus on the relationship that I have with my father and knowing that he would never lead me astray, he would never lead me the wrong way, he would never put me in that ditch, as I said, or hand me the map like Dora and tell me to go exploring. He would never do that, he will always guide me, he would always be with me, knowing that I know I knew that I would have to know the voice for myself. And so I learned, and so that voice is what I listened to. That nudge, that desire, that dream, that moment that God showed to me what he needed me to do, what he wanted for me to do, what he desired me to do, and sent confirmation with it. But even before that, knowing that it was him that gave it to me, you know, it's something that I had to learn, but only through prayer and reading my word was I able to build that confidence and build that strength and be able to say, okay, I can't doubt it because I know too much about it. Okay. I can't doubt this voice because I know what I heard. I know when I hear the Spirit of the Lord speaking to me, but you get there. You get there by strengthening your relationship, just like being in a regular relationship when you are with your significant other. You get to a point where you can kind of tell when something's wrong with them, right? You can kind of tell when they're a little off today. Oh, baby, you were good yesterday, but today you're a little off. What's going on? You can feel that. So you know that person well enough to know that something is wrong with them. So then it's the same thing with God. You've built this relationship with him, you he's your companion at this point. He is your person, he is your significant other. And literally, you know when he is talking to you, you hear the voice of him when he is talking to you, when he is speaking to you. Your obedience in this season is necessary. Your obedience to God in this season is necessary. Delayed obedience is still disobedience. Just because you feel that you are not, you feel you're not being disobedient because you want to do what God has called you to do, but you just haven't done it yet. No, you're still disobedient because he told you to do it now, but you're choosing to wait until the right time. I've been there. I've been there. I know that story oh so well. I know it like the back of my hands because it wasn't perfect, because it doesn't look like the right time, because it doesn't look like what you want it to look like, you're sinning on what God has given you instead of being obedient and moving forward. Stepping out in that obedience, a lot of times we don't realize your breakthrough is literally right there in your obedience. Your faith, the faith that you have to move forward, the faith that you have to do what God has called you to do. All you need is that faith and say, okay, I'm gonna have faith and step out on this and be obedient in this particular situation, regardless of how I feel, regardless of what I don't or do see, regardless of who's around me and what they have to say, because guess what? They're not in your chair. They're not in your chair. There's I like when I like this, you'll hear some um there's some songs, you'll hear them and they say they don't worry about the people around you, they don't need what you need. And that just means that don't worry about the words and the ears, the words in the mouths around you, because they this ain't that, this ain't that. This ain't that. This is your time where you begin to have your connection with your father, and you begin to build that relationship where you can hear the spirit of the Lord wherever you are, however loud the world may be, but nobody's louder than God. But we do that by literally putting ourselves in a position to absorb his word, to be able to hear him and to be able to receive what he has for us so that we can grow spiritually into and have spiritual maturity. And when I think about some of the things that I've had to, you know, I've had to endure in order to get to this space, you know, I laugh sometimes because people tell me all the time, like, girl, girl, you just always, you know, you just always joyful, you just always, you know, have something to be thankful about. And let me tell you something, that does not mean that I don't go through things. That doesn't mean that I don't get hit left and right, too. I just know that the joy of the Lord is my strength. Okay, I just know that the joy of the Lord is my strength. So, regardless of what I'm going through or what I have been through or what's to come, I know who I serve and I know what he is capable of doing, and I know that his joy is my strength because his word said it. So, therefore, what's my favorite thing to say? Lord, you said in your word, not me, in your word. So I believe it, and I heard you. So, yes, when I left my job, I heard the Lord tell me what I needed to do, and I did it, and that's how I got to a space where no, it's not, it don't look how I want it to look. No, I'm not where I feel I should be, but I know that I'm right where I'm supposed to be. I know that I'm doing what God called me to do. So if you are in a season where your obedience is required, heavily required, you need to go ahead and seek God in that. Consult God in that situation, in that feeling, and let him guide you, let him shepherd you to that next step. It might be uncomfortable, it might not feel good, it might be something new for you. It's gonna be not your normal for sure. But you've got to believe that God is going to take you there, and like I said, he ain't gonna leave you like Dora and hand you the map. He's going to walk with you, he's going to guide you, he's going to correct you when you begin to go left or right, and he's going to be in your ear. You have just got to, you just got to know how to hear him. You just got to know who is speaking to you. And it's not even just, it's not even just knowing when the Spirit of the Lord is speaking to you, but it's having faith that what he's saying is truth. It's having faith that what he's saying is what's best for you. What's what you need at that time. And following instructions. Ooh, instructions. That's something that's also been a lesson for me in these last few months. Being able to follow instruction. Because, see, it's not just it's not just about you stepping out on the faith, it's not just about you being obedient. But once you step out in faith, once you are obedient, can you follow instruction even when it looks like you don't, even when it looks crazy, even when it you can't see anything working out, how you feel is gonna work out, but even when it's just you you just don't understand it, right? Can you follow the instructions to the T is the question. Are we instruction people? Like, can we follow instructions? And I had to really sit and ask myself, okay, God, you want me to do this, that, and the third, right? Where's what's the result to that? What's the end result? It's faith. Trusting that every single step that he tells you to take is literally taking you into the place where he wants to take you, knowing that he is going to cover you each and every part of the way. He already knows that you're a little shaky. He already knows that. He already knows that. That's why sometimes he has to send us confirmation. That's why sometimes he has to send you a little confirmation here and there so you can keep on going. Give you a little, you know, a little urge, so you can keep a little nudge. I mean, so you can keep going. He knows who you are. He's talking to you directly. Can you hear him? Is the question. Do you know his voice for yourself? When someone says this to you, can you say, uh-uh, I know what the Spirit of the Lord has said to me. In this season, again, we need to know his voice. We need to know this voice. This is a time where if you don't know how to hear from the Lord for yourself, that's come on. Because he wants to break, he's breaking people out of that place where you're so dependent on everybody else instead of him. You know, that auntie who can pray the house down, who has faith as much as a mustard seed, right? Faith the size of the mustard seed. Who it has crazy faith. That auntie that you call all the time. Because you don't feel like your prayers make it past the ceiling. Not no more. Not no more. Because he's called us to a place where we need to be able to trust and believe and have faith in him for ourselves. So yeah, this season is a little uncomfortable, it's a little bit shaky, it's not your normal, it's not what you're used to. But do you trust him? That's the simplest question. Do you trust him? Do you trust him to move mountains? Do you trust him to part the seas? Do you trust him to part the river? When Joshua walked up, when Joshua had to do what God called him to do, and he had the priest walk into the river, the Jordan River, with the covenant, the Ark of the Covenant, right? And in that moment, that was proof. That was him trusting God to do what he said he was going to do. That was his obedience at that time. The river did not part before they walked into it. They walked into it and it parted. The rushing waters, this particular part of the season, the waters were crazy wild, right? They were crazy wild. And they had to walk into that, trusting that when they got in that water, God was getting ready to part it for them. And he did exactly what he promised, so that the Israelites would be able to get over to the other side. So if he did it for Joshua, he did it for Moses, what would make you think that he won't do it for you? What would make you think that he won't part those waters for you? See, I love the difference of those stories because although the same God that was with Moses was with was with Joshua in those stories, it gives you two forms of obedience and two forms of trust and faith. And and I won't say two forms, but it gives you trust and faith for sure, but two different, just two different ways they had to do it. See, Moses, he raised his staff and stretched it out over the waters, and God did what he promised he would do. He part that red sea, yes, he did. Joshua, as I said before, he told his priests to carry the Ark of the Covenant into the water, and God part that river, yes, he did. But do you see both of these things required obedience and it required faith and it required trust? It required them to have what? Enough faith that God would do what he said he would do. So because they had that faith, they were obedient in doing what he told them to do. So they trusted that the outcome would be exactly what he promised it would be. So when we think about those stories, and I know they are common stories because we hear a lot of a lot of that, but when we think about that, we think about people who wasn't sure at all, they doubted too. Joshua and Moses doubted at a point that they could do it, that that that that that they would be even chosen to do so. I say all that to say that I hope and pray in this season somebody, somebody is strengthening their relationship with God in their word, in their prayer life, but not just that, sitting and listening to him, hearing from God. You know something that I heard a while ago. Um, I heard somebody say, We do a great, we do, we, we, we do a great job at the talking, right? But do we really have the ear to listen, right? They said it's a whole lot of this going on, but not a lot of this. There's a whole lot of yep, yep, yep, yep, yep, but not enough silence. Can you sit in your quiet place and just hear the voice of God? Can you excuse me? Can you sit in your room, in your car, in your your your closet? I don't know what your quiet place is or where it is, but can you sit there quietly, not saying a word, and just listen for the voice of God and hear what he has to say? Y'all, this was definitely not where I thought we were going tonight, but God is so good because it blessed me. And honestly, it always God always deals with me first. These are lessons that I've had to learn. I'm still learning, I'm still growing, I'm still going into you know, um, new places, and and and and God is still giving me new new revelation, he's still providing new lessons. It's it's it's an everlasting teaching going on, y'all. So don't think because there's no no such thing as perfection, okay? I'm not perfect at all. I by not even a long shot, imperfect, but God is who he says he is, and he has carried me thus far. And I'm here to tell you that when you hear his voice, be obedient to what you heard, whatever your situation is. Mine was my job at this particular moment, but yours could be something totally different. When you get that nudge, when you get that desire, when you can have that dream, when God is speaking to you, listen, tune out everything else around you. My prayer is that the people will learn to tune the world out. My prayer is that the people will learn to tune the world out. This is an active relationship between you and your father. This is an active relationship, it requires you to do your part too. Sometimes you just might need to sit in that quiet space and not say a word and just hear, meditate on God's word, hear what he has to say to you, hear what he needs you to hear because your instructions are waiting for you, but you can't hear it. He's waiting to give you the instructions to your next step, the instructions for your next job, your next assignment, but you can't hear it because everything else has got your ear. Let them tune that out. Tune that out. You know how you're sitting somewhere and it's so loud, but you need to focus on something so you tune it out, tune it out so you can get the job done. So you can get the job done. Oh my stars, y'all. Obedience. I'm just being obedient. Do not do not stomp on the messenger, okay? I'm just being obedient, and I love each and every one of you enough to tell you whatever God has for me to tell you, and that is what I come up here to do. Yes, this is my podcast. Yes, it is a podcast. First of all, this is God's podcast. Let me rewind that. Oh, let me rewind that. This is God's podcast. So, whatever he needs me to say, and however he needs me to do it, I'm gonna do it. Because what obedience, and we must walk in that, and we must be able to accept the fact that and relinquish control, accept the fact that he's in control and relinquish the control that we try to hold on to.
