ArcherShaw Temple: Teachings for Sovereign Awakening
The Mother Wound & Wholeness — A Teaching on the Divine Feminine (Meditation Included)
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
In this episode, Christopher Shaw and Aeon Archer deliver a powerful teaching and guided meditation on the Divine Feminine, the Mother Wound, spiritual awakening, identity transformation, embodied leadership, and the path from fragmentation into wholeness. This episode explores how early relational imprints shape identity, intimacy, power, and desire—revealing why so many high-functioning individuals achieve external success but remain internally divided, and how true integration requires reclaiming the full spectrum of the self: not just the soft and acceptable, but the fierce, sovereign, and truth-telling aspects of being.
This transmission takes you beyond traditional ideas of healing…
And into the recognition that nothing is missing.
Christopher delivers a direct teaching titled “She Is All of Them”—revealing how the Divine Mother has been reduced, distorted, and misunderstood across cultures, and how that distortion lives on in the psyche as disconnection from truth, power, and embodied presence.
Aeon closes with a guided meditation designed to help you move out of the mind and into direct experience—grounding into safety, opening the heart without self-abandonment, and recognizing the wholeness that has always been here.
🔱 In this teaching + meditation you will explore:
• The Mother Wound and its impact on identity, intimacy, and power
• The integration of feminine archetypes: Saraswati, Lakshmi, Parvati, Durga, and Kali
• Why sobriety and self-improvement often fail to produce wholeness
• The difference between becoming and recognizing
• A guided meditation to embody safety, devotion, and sovereignty
✨ Reflection Questions
• Where have I been taught to suppress parts of myself to be accepted?
• What aspects of my power have I labeled as “too much” or unsafe?
• Am I trying to improve myself… or recognize what is already true?
• What would it look like to trust what is alive in me right now?
🔥 Practice of the Week
The Wholeness Practice
1️⃣ Pause
Take a slow breath in… and a full exhale.
Bring awareness into your body.
2️⃣ Notice
What is here… without changing it?
Is there contraction… avoidance… or openness?
3️⃣ Allow
Let everything be included—
the softness… the tension… the clarity… the resistance.
4️⃣ Recognize
Nothing you’re experiencing is outside of you.
Stay with it one breath longer.

🔱 ArcherShaw Temple — Teachings for Sovereign Awakening
If this episode served you, share it with someone standing at a threshold of becoming.
Welcome to the Archer Staw Temple Podcast, teachings for sovereign awakening, sacred union, and embodied devotion. I'm Christopher Staw here with Aeon Archer. May this transmission meet to exactly where you are and open the next doorway on your path. Let us begin. Or those of you that are listening to our podcast, we are so grateful that you are with us today. I am the Queen, the gatherer of treasures, the first among those worthy of worship. The gods have placed me in many places. I who enter many forms. Quoted from the Rig Veda. Let's be honest about what today is before we talk about what it could be. Mother's Day, as most of us received it, is flowers and brunch and greeting cards that say a mother's love is forever in a font that has never once told the truth. And yes, we honor the women who raised us. That gratitude is for real. That love is for real. But the holiday is small. It leaves out the mothers who are grieving, the mothers who wanted to be mothers and aren't. The ones whose mothers wounded them so deeply that today feels less like celebration and more like survival. It leaves out the ones who had to mother themselves because no one else would. So if we're going to talk about the mother today, we need a room big enough to hold all of that. And then we need to go further because we didn't just shrink Mother's Day. We shrunk the mother. Every tradition that reduced the divine feminine to something gentle, supportive, and secondary. Something that waits in the background. While something else runs the cosmos, was already forgetting something sacred. This sermon, if I can get through it, is an act of remembering. In Kashmir Shaivism, there is a teaching that is both simple and vast. Shiva is pure consciousness, unmoving, infinite, and aware. But Shiva does not create. It is Shakti, his inseparable feminine power who pulses, who breathes, and who brings the universe into form. There is a saying, without Shakti, Shiva is a corpse. It's not a metaphor, it's cosmology. The universe is not created by her, as though she were working with something outside of herself. The universe is created as her. Matter is her body, time is her breath, and every moment of beauty, every moment of love, every birth and every death is Shakti in motion. In this tradition, that movement is called spanda, the first pulse of existence, the first movement of reality was a motherly act. And in the sacred text, the Devi Mathatmayam, when even the gods were overwhelmed, they did something extraordinary. They didn't fight harder, they remembered her. And from that remembrance, Shakti emerged, not as something new, but as what had always been. So this is what we are doing today. The mother has never had one face. And one of the greatest gifts of the Hindu traditions is that it never tried to reduce her to one. It let her be vast, it let her be many, it let the mother be everything. And each of those faces corresponds to something in you, something alive in you, something needed in you. So listen, because one of these is looking for you today. Mother Sadaswati. She is the mother of the mind, of creativity, of language, of music, and of truth. Sadaswati holds the frequency of beauty in the intelligence that recognizes it. Every time you've encountered something true, not intellectually, but in your body, a piece of music, a line of poetry, a moment of clarity that felt like it came from somewhere deeper. That was Saraswati. Some of you have drifted too far from this. Too much managing, too much handling, too much survival, and not enough creation, and not enough beauty. Saraswati is the mother who says, Your mind is sacred, your creativity is sacred. Come back. Om Saraswati Om. Next we speak of Mother Lakshmi. She is the mother of abundance. Not just the mother of wealth, but the deeper truth that life is resourced. That existence itself is not withholding from you. From her hands gold flows. Not stored, not controlled, but flowing. For many of us, the mother wound lives here. The message spoken or unspoken that there wasn't enough. That something was always at risk, that you had to manage to hold control or it would fall apart. Lakshmi interrupts that. She doesn't promise ease, but she restores trust. That beneath the fluctuations the ground holds, and that you are held. Let it. So let yourself perceive that, even if you didn't get it before. Om Pavarti om. Now let's speak of Mother Durga shifting the energy. Durga does not arrive gently. She arrives on a lion, armed with her eight to ten arms, focused, clear. She is not reacting. She was responding from power that knows exactly what it is doing. Durga is the mother who fights, not from rage, but from love that refuses to let destruction win. Some of you need her today. You've been too patient with what is hurting you, too accommodating to what should not be allowed. Mother Durga says, Rise, draw the line, stand in something. And not from anger, but from love that has found its spine. Oh Mahadurga, oh. Next, we'll speak of Kali. I wish I could show you pictures. You're gonna have to look all these goddesses up. They're incredible. Kali usually has her tongue out. She's just like, she's the one we fear, the one we resist, the one who loves us most completely. Kali is wild, uncontained, and unapologetic. She wears the symbols of destruction. But when we look closer, one hand of her says, Do not be afraid, and the other says, Receive. What Kali destroys is not you, it's everything false you have been holding together, your identity, your story, and the version of yourself that is costing you your very life. Kali says, I will take this from you, and it will feel like dying, and you will become more alive than you've ever been. Kali is the goddess of death, rebirth, and transformation. Not punishment, but liberation. And when you stop resisting her, you see something clearly. She was never against you. She was always carrying you home. And if you're really listening, you can feel something in you responding to this, not just recognizing it, but reacting to it. Because none of this is abstract. These aren't just archetypes, they are parts of you. And for most of us, they didn't disappear. They were suppressed, they were pushed down, they were conditioned out of us. Which leads us to talk about the mother wound. We didn't just forget the mother, we suppressed her. Deliberately, systematically, across centuries, across traditions, and across cultures. The fierce, sovereign, untamed feminine was not simply lost, she was made dangerous. Temples fell, priestesses disappeared, wise, brilliant women were burned or silenced or dismissed. And what remained was a version of the feminine that was safe. Gentle, compliant, contained, and acceptable. And we called that sacred, but something was missing, and not a small piece, half of her. Because when you remove the fierce mother from the sacred, when you when the only acceptable expression of the feminine is soft, pleasing, and accommodating, you don't just distort theology, you distort the human psyche. You send a message to everyone. To women, your power is too much. Tone it down, soften it, make it easier for others to receive. And to men, do not trust the feminine in yourself. Control it, suppress it, stay in structure, stay enforced. And to all of us, the parts of you that are wild, sovereign, sexual, creative, and destructive in ways that brings truth, those parts are not sacred. Contain them. That's what we've been taught. Contain those parts. And we did. We learned to perform something smaller. We learned to edit ourselves in order to belong. We learned to call it maturity when it was actually disconnection. And we learn to call it being good when it was actually self-abandonment. So the mother wound is not just about your relationship with your biological mother, though for many of us that wound is real. It lives in the mother who could not see you, the mother who was overwhelmed, the mother who was anxious, addicted, absent, or the critical mother who loved you, but could not meet you. But the wound goes deeper than that, because even the mothers who tried were shaped by a world that had already forgotten the mother. They were passing down something that they themselves had never received. So what gets inherited is not just love. It's scarcity, fear, control, disconnection from the body, and disconnection from truth. And we carry that. We all carry that in how we relate to ourselves, in how we relate to intimacy, into me, you see, in how we relate to money, in how we relate to power. This is why the work is not just personal, it is civilizational. And healing it is not about blaming our parents. And it's not about rewriting history, and it's not about rejecting the traditions that formed us. It's about becoming whole, it's about restoring what was removed, and it's about allowing the sacred to include everything it already is: the tenderness and the ferocity, the devotion and the destruction, the nurturing and the boundary, Lakshmi and Kali, Pavarti and Durga. Because until the mother is whole, we collectively are not. And when she is restored, not as an idea, but as something alive in us, something reorganizes, we stop abandoning ourselves, we stop negotiating with what diminishes us, and we stop calling disconnection peace. We become integrated, alive, and whole. And once we see this, once we really see how deep this goes, something begins to shift. Not because we fixed it, and not because we figured it out, but because we're no longer unconscious to it. And from here, something else becomes possible. There is a teaching called recognition, not becoming and not fixing, not improving, recognizing. You have not been searching for the mother, you have been in her the entire time. She is the breath in your body, the awareness behind your thoughts, the love that has never left you. And in the Devi Mahatmayam, she makes a promise. Whenever you are in distress, call, and I will come. Not from far away, not when you're ready, and not when you've earned it. Simply, I will come. So let her find you today. If you need wisdom, call upon Sadaswati. If you need radiance, beauty, magnetism, financial flow, align with the Lakshmi frequency. If you need love that stays, help in your relationships, help with communication, receive Pavarti. If you need strength, align with the fierce vibration of Mother Durga. And if you need freedom, stop protecting what Kali has come to take. Let it go. Be free. Let us close in prayer. Divine Mother, source and substance of all that is. You who move as the pulse of existence, you who appear as every form and remain as the formless ground beneath it. We remember you. Not as an idea, but as the living presence within and around and as us. Dissolve what is false, Mother, reveal what is true, and draw us deeper into the recognition that we have never been separate from you. In your beauty, awaken us. In your abundance restore us, in your devotion hold us, and in your power strengthen us, and in your fire free us. May we move through this life as conscious expressions of your love, and may we never again forget what we already are. We bow to you, Mother, in all beings, in all things, and in ourselves. Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti. Aeon will now lead us in a guided meditation to embody the teaching.
SPEAKER_00All right. All right. Allow our bodies to settle. Letting your spine be upright, but not rigid, and your breath moving naturally. No effort, no need to control. Just simply allow. May close your eyes or maybe have a gentle gaze. And I invite you to bring your awareness down into your body, out of your mind, and into sensation. Notice the weight of your body. The contact beneath you, the gravity that is holding you. Nothing you need to do to be supported. Just feel into that. Allow your breath to drop a little deeper. And silently, in your mind, repeat, I am held. Again, I am held. Not as a belief, but as felt reality. Now bring your awareness to your heart. To the center of your chest. No need to create anything. Just notice what's already here. And allow a small softening. As if the heart could open just five percent more. And here, let this land. I do not have to abandon myself to be loved. Again, I do not have to abandon myself to be loved. Allow the body to receive that. Now bring your awareness up to the crown of your head. The space just above you. Sensing the field around your whole body. Not separate from you, but as you. No reaching. No becoming. Just this. And here, let this land. I am whole. Again, I am whole. Nothing missing. Nothing outside of this. Now feel all three together. The ground beneath you holding you. The heart open and expansive. And the awareness that is present for it all. This is not something you created. This is what remains. And from here, the mother is not something you seek. She is what you are. Taking a deep breath in through the nose. And release. Arriving fully into this moment. Into this body. Into this life. Another deep breath in. Gently begin to bring your awareness back into the room. And when you're ready to open your eyes. Welcome back, family. Christopher now leaders in the day's offering.
SPEAKER_01Mother's Day offering, everyone, will take a moment for a Mother's Day offering. Not as a transaction, but as participation. Because what we're building here is not content, it's a living field. A space where people can come week after week and remember something real. And spaces like this require support. Not from need, but from alignment. So if this space has supported you, if something here has landed, if you feel the value of what's being created, this is your moment to participate in that. To give not from pressure, but from wholeness. Because when we give from need, it contracts. But when it comes from wholeness, it multiplies. Your giving supports our temple, the space, the zoom room, these gatherings. And it also supports the larger work, the retreats, the teachings, and the people being reached beyond those that are just here right now. So take a moment and please give what feels true. You can donate at MerkabatTemple.com, or even easier, grab your phone right now while you have it with you. Open Venmo. Type in Merkaba Temple. And as you give, let this be the orientation. I give from wholeness. And what I give returns multiplied. Oh no, Shivayo. Thank you. Oh Mother Lakshmion. Thank you. All right. A few things we'd love to share before we close. First, we are now booking private one-on-one immersions, couples immersions, and chosen family containers for the rest of the year here at Archer Shaw Temple in Puerto Vallarta.

SPEAKER_00Second, Chris just released a new essay series. It is called The Whole Body Recovers: Sex, Shame, and the Path Back to Eros.
SPEAKER_0120 years as a almost 20 years as a clinician. Crazy. I have been a psychotherapist for over 18 years now. So beautiful. I've helped thousands of people in recovery over the years. And the one question I couldn't stop asking was this: Why does sobriety so rarely become wholeness?
SPEAKER_00And this series is his answer. Five essays on what the traditional recovery model gives right, where it breaks down, and what the earth medicines understand that therapy is still learning. And what embodied, integrated sexuality actually looks like.
SPEAKER_01So it's not about managing desire, it's about recovering it. I'm really proud of these essays, guys. So check them out, please. I would love for you to go to archershaw.guru forward slash blog. We have both written so much on there. That's just really, really good stuff. So please take a moment to check out our blog.
SPEAKER_00And finally, if this space matters to you, help us grow it.

SPEAKER_00And additionally, Christopher and I, this Friday, we'll be hosting a free one-hour webinar uh March 15th entitled Addiction.

SPEAKER_00May 15th. May 15th. March is already past. Yeah. Uh entitled Addiction Recovery and Psychedelics. So I will be sharing my recovery story, and Christopher will be discussing the research and the clinical implications of using the earth medicines to recover from various addictions.
SPEAKER_01So please join us. You can register for free at archershaw.guru forward slash events or by using the link in the chat.
SPEAKER_00So before we close, let's take a breath together. Deep breath in and release with a sigh. Let's do that one more time. Deep breath in. And sigh it out. Gently return to stillness. So nice. As we close in prayer, Divine Mother, source and substance of all that is, we thank you. Not as something separate, but as the living presence within and around as us for what has been revealed today, for what has been felt, for what is already true, help us to trust this, to no longer abandon ourselves, to no longer negotiate with what diminishes us, and to live in alignment with what we know. In your beauty and our beauty, awaken us. In your abundance, our abundance, restore us. In your devotion, our devotion, hold us. In your power, our power, strengthen us, and in your fire, our fire, free us. May we move through this life, not searching, but recognizing, not becoming, but embodying, not separate but whole. We bow to you in all beings, in all things, and in ourselves. Om shanti, shanti shanti, om nemashivaya, om guru om amen, aho ashe. And so it is. And for per and for sapphire. Thank you for being here with us at Archer Shaw Temple. If something in this teaching helped your body soften or brought you back into yourself, let it keep moving. Share it with someone who's ready. This temple is sustained through conscious participation, through those who feel the resonance and choose to support the work from clarity, not pressure. If you feel called into write exchange, you're welcome to support the mission on Venmo at Merkov Temple all one word. And if you'd like to go deeper, you can schedule a complimentary soul alignment session at archershahl.guru.
