Welcome to the Expansion Edit Podcast, where if you hang around long enough, you'll learn that you can achieve anything by rewiring who you believe you are. I'm Chelsea, a licensed therapist, turned identity coach for the woman ready to create an extraordinary life and become the living manifestation of her vision board. Not through wishful thinking or fluffy affirmations, but through identity embodiment using proven techniques, rewiring protocols, and psychology-backed strategy grounded in neuroscience. Here we talk subconscious rewiring, nervous system safety, identity shifting, and manifestation in a way that expands your life from the inside out. So let's unlock your next level. Because in reality, I think a lot of people go, okay, but what actually is that? Like it's not a very tangible thing. And so it can be kind of like, okay, yeah, that sounds great, but like it sounds a little bit woo and what's actually happening, and you know, blah blah blah. So we're just gonna get into kind of the science behind the subconscious and what subconscious reprogramming actually is, and how you can use it to create a life that is so different from where you are right now in a short amount of time. And here's the thing: you can create a life or step into your talent or purpose without subconscious reprogramming, but it's gonna take a lot longer because essentially what you're doing is instead of reprogramming the subconscious, you're doing it slowly over time through the conscious brain, and that can only get you so far in a short amount of time. So if you can go straight into the subconscious from the get-go, your life, the dream that you want to pursue, the business you want to have, the talent you want to show to the world, or the way that you want to make impact happens a lot quicker because you're accessing this important part of the brain that needs to be on board in order for you to be successful at what you're trying to do. So let's just talk about the subconscious first. The subconscious is the part of your brain that is responsible for 90%, it's estimated between 95 and 97% of all of your decision making, your habits, your behaviors. All of that is decided by a part of your brain that you are not consciously aware of. And that's really hard to swallow. Especially, I I'm gonna call myself out here. Especially like for me as somebody who studies this, it's hard to be like, oh, like I'm using a part of my brain that I'm unaware of to make these decisions, even though I know all about it and how it works. So it's kind of this weird mind game that we play with ourselves, but it really is true. That's the part of the brain that you make these decisions with. And your brain is always wired for safety. You know this if you listen to anything that I put out on the internet. And so it's always going to default, the subconscious is going to default to what feels safe. And what feels safe to the brain is what is familiar. So it's always going to default to the familiar. It's never gonna want you to put yourself out there or do something new or different. So subconscious is is responsible for a large part of how we live, how we make decisions. And another really interesting thing is that up until the age of about seven, six or seven, give or take, you take all information in as truth. So everything that happens to you, you don't question it, you don't put it through filters. Let's say you get in a situation and maybe your parent is short with you or somebody yells at you or something, you're not sitting there going, oh, they must be having a bad day. No, you immediately go, it's my fault, it's me. Everything that happens to you is just truth. So up until about seven years old, everything that you experience is stored in the subconscious and it helps form the way that you respond to the world. If you have a very traumatic experience that happens or traumatic upbringing early on in life, that is gonna dictate how your subconscious responds to life, way past seven years old. And if we don't get in there and change that programming, that's what's gonna come up and that's gonna be the default mode of operation, even though if we put it through filters or we can see like, oh, this wasn't my fault, or this happened because not something that had nothing to do with me. But in that age, in that impressionable time into our subconscious, we don't think that way. We don't have those filters up. So if you're sitting there going, oh my gosh, like I've had so many situations where like I feel people are mad at me and I don't know why, that's not because people are mad at you now. It's because you experienced maybe people being short with you, maybe people yelling at you, maybe, you know, different situations, and those were stored in the subconscious, and your body learned, okay, in order to not upset people, I'm gonna stay small, I'm gonna stay hidden, I'm going to develop these coping mechanisms that then you go out into the world as an adult and you're still using those same coping mechanisms because that's what's safe and familiar to your subconscious. So you can kind of see how our experiences as a young child influence greatly how we operate as adults, and that if we don't go in and change those ways of operating, we're just gonna be creating the same results. So this comes up a lot for people who have high ambition, who have creative gifts that they want to put out into the world. Oftentimes they are stopped because visibility was translated as unsafe in these early years. And this is especially common for people with talents or creatives because chances are if you're creative, your brain is not necessarily typical. You may experience some neurodivergency. You know, if you're an entrepreneur, you have you're just wired a little bit differently than like the conventional people that go to school, want to, you know, get a corporate job, do the nine to five, do all of that, you might not necessarily feel like you've always fit in with that narrative. And when you're young and your brain works differently, we're conditioned through school to stay within whatever's acceptable and normal so that we can fit in in school and in our environment and in our community. So, so this idea of not wanting to be seen, you can see stems from a very early age and it makes sense, right? Because we want to fit in, we want to be part of our community. And if you have a brain that works differently or you have different ideas, that's not always perceived as a good thing in the moment. I would say now as adults, when you're out there trying to like create something new or you know, come up with different ways of thinking about things, like it's such an asset. But the problem is we don't always recognize it as an asset because we've been conditioned, our subconscious mind has accepted it as truth that we should not think the way that we do, or we should shut ourselves down before we even say something that's gonna make us stick out or be different or not be within normal. So a lot of talented people and creatives shut this creative part of themselves down because it doesn't fit in with how they need to be within community. The problem with that is that longing to create or that longing to build a business or do something different, it doesn't go away necessarily just because you've shut it down, right? Like it's still there. It's just you feel out of place. You don't feel like you fit in. You feel like you're meant for more, but you don't know why you feel like that because you don't think you have a creative talent or something that needs to be brought into this world. So you kind of just are left feeling like, oh, like I think, like I have this longing for something different, but there just must be something wrong with me. And in reality, it's just that there is something that they're meant to bring into this world, but it's been shut down through the subconscious, through trying to fit in and stay safe and stay within normal and be accepted. Because again, your brain wants you to stay safe and be accepted and part of the community because in ancient times that's how you would stay alive, and your brain wants to keep you alive, which is great. So coming back to the subconscious, you've been conditioned, you want to stay small, you don't want to be seen because that equals trouble, it equals danger, all of that good stuff. So now as an adult, you're like, no, I'm gonna take a chance on my dream. I'm gonna put myself out there, I'm going to do the thing that I love and go for it. The problem with that is your subconscious is going to say, absolutely not. We're not doing this, you're not doing this, I'm gonna give you all the reasons not to do this. I'm gonna get your nervous system involved because your your body is going to feel unsafe. Maybe you're gonna get read. Maybe you're gonna break out in hives, maybe you're gonna stutter, maybe you're going to have really negative internal thoughts screaming at you that you're stupid, that you don't know what you're doing, that why why you, you know, all of those negative um thoughts that we have when we're putting ourselves out there and doing something extremely vulnerable. All of that comes up and it shuts you down. And maybe it doesn't come up like that. Maybe you can be consistent for a while with doing the thing that you need to do, building the the program or or the social media or the book that you're working on or whatever it is, but you're gonna hit a wall because your nervous system capacity is not there to hold the thing that you're wanting to create because your subconscious is saying, this is unsafe. And here's the thing: your subconscious does get more familiar as you expose it to things. So you could go through this process of just doing it uh consciously and kind of working the whole time through it and trudging along, basically, until it becomes familiar to the subconscious. But a much faster way to do that would be to go in and on purpose reprogram the subconscious to match the life that you want to have. And this is why I talk so much about identity embodiment, and this is why I know for a fact that it is not woo-woo, that the way that I talk about manifestation is not like think of something and it's just gonna like appear for you. No, it's going into your subconscious, instilling a new identity that matches the version that you want to become. And suddenly all the things that you're trying to do are no longer you fighting with yourself or having these intrusive thoughts of negativity or turning red, you know, and all of these things. Like obviously, the more you up level, the more your identity changes. You're gonna have to do this work at every level, but the more you make it familiar to your subconscious, the more your subconscious just thinks that's who you are, and this is just a part of your life and and how you operate. If you can reprogram your mind to believe that the life that you want to live is already the life that you're living, that's when you see things come in really quickly. That's when you see massive growth, confidence, conviction, like all of these things that you absolutely need in order to achieve your goals, whether that be in business, in entrepreneurship, in writing or producing or singing or acting or whatever it is that your talent is, the more you make the end goal identity familiar, the faster you're gonna be able to get there. The nervous system also plays a very integral, is that how you say that word, part in this process because your brain and your nervous system talk to each other and your nervous system is kind of the gatekeeper. Like that is your capacity level. So you need to grow your nervous system capacity. And the easiest way to do that is to become present, and this is why I talk about meditation so much. If you can get yourself into the present, that means you're not in fight or flight, you're not in freeze mode. That means that you're not operating from a place of fear or lack, but you're operating from a place of presence and abundance. And that is where you're gonna be able to access your most creative and influential and impactful ideas. It is not from a place of scarcity, of what if this goes wrong, of my heart is racing, of being ready to run away from the lion. Like that's not the area, especially for creatives, that we want to be. So if you are just starting this journey and you're just awakening to yourself and you're like, oh my gosh, I've been in this job that I hate. Maybe it's a good situation, but I just know I'm meant for something else. I don't even know where to start, I would just start by taking five to ten minutes in the morning, sitting in silence, don't even do a guided meditation. Just sit in silence and try to let your thoughts go and see what comes up. Because a lot of us are running in a fight or flight state all the time and we don't even realize it. So if you can get yourself out of that state, even for just a little bit, to feel what the difference feels like, it's gonna have massive impact on the rest of your day, the rest of your week, the rest of your month, the rest of your life. So I would start with just sitting in silence for five to ten minutes and sitting with yourself and even just feeling what that feels like. And you're gonna notice the difference pretty quickly. And it's just gonna give you that space to respond less with urgency and more with, okay, let's think about this for a second. There's no urgency. Let's take the urgency out of it. I feel like I just went on a tangent, but if you are just awakening to yourself and being like, I know I need to do something different, I don't know what it is. Sitting in silence is gonna give you that space. It's going to turn on your creative juices because it's gonna take you out of fight or flight, and you're gonna be able to make moves from there a lot easier. And everything that I'm talking about here is what I guide you through in a rewire session with me, where basically it's a 90-minute session. We get clear on what you want if you don't know, kind of helping open that up. We do subconscious reprogramming right in that session to just kind of hone in on the blocks that have been keeping you right where you are so that you can start to make moves, start to create that momentum in your life. And then, you know, obviously there's a lot of specific exercises and techniques that I go in with you based on what it is that you're wanting to do or wanting to unblock. And then you also get a week of integration support. So as you're integrating all of this and changing the default mode of how you've been operating, I'm there to kind of support you and walk you through. I'm also just gonna drop in here that I just released or will be releasing, I think by the time this episode comes out, a two-session bundle with me. So this is a little bit less structured than the rewire session, but it's just to help you get clear on where you're going, help you create that momentum, look at some blind spots and blocks that are going on, and then between the two sessions with me, you get support through Telegram. That is going to be another option in how you can work with me. And I'm really excited to open these up because they're just a little bit more specific in a different way than the rewire session, and a little bit less structured, so we can really look at what are the specific pieces that maybe are holding you back right now that you're possibly unaware of because it's been stored in the subconscious for so long. So, back to the nervous system, do your meditation, and by meditation, I just even mean sitting in silence for a few minutes each morning. If you do that, it's gonna have massive impact on your brain functioning and helping you get out of that stress state. This is also really good because it helps awaken that creative part in you and it helps you really step back and say, like, okay, what do I actually want my life to look like? Like, what do I want to feel? And that's something that you can start with is like, what do I want to feel every day? Not what do I want my life to look like? Because I think if you listen to this podcast, and this is definitely true for me, like you probably have, quote, it all. Like you probably have the career and the job and maybe the house. And like, you know, you have the path and you've taken the steps, and yet you still feel like something is so wrong or so missing. And then there's also that piece of guilt of like, oh, well, I should feel grateful. And, you know, I'm always an advocate for feeling grateful for what we have, but there is something to be said for listening to that internal part and going, okay, well, if I feel this way, something's off and like let's just figure out what that is and move towards it instead of just doing what looks good on paper or what success is supposed to look like to somebody else. Because at the end of the day, you're the only one that has to live your life, and you're the only one who gets to live your life. So you might as well create a life that you're so in love with. And maybe that takes trial and error, maybe that takes quote, failing to figure out where you want to go. Guys, I cannot even tell you. I my whole life have been so scared of failure because I was such a perfectionist. I did everything right, I did all the steps and everything that I was supposed to do. And I cannot even explain, like since I started this business, how many quote, failures I've experienced, and yet I feel the most successful I've ever felt in my entire life. Because what I'm doing is aligned, because what I'm doing lights me up. And if something doesn't work, I just pivot. And it's been so good to like exercise that muscle and say, like, okay, something doesn't work, it just means you pivot and you just go, you do the next right thing and you figure it out. And in terms of confidence and conviction, failing has done so much more for me than following the right path and doing it right the first time ever has done for me. And I know that sounds a little bit scary, but the more familiar your brain and your nervous system get with this quote failure, and I feel like I can't even call it failure. It's just like figuring out what works for me, how I want to run my business, how I want to run my content, how I want to do my messaging, like all of these things, it's like you have to try it. And this is why you need to get your nervous system and your brain familiar with being that version of yourself. Because when I sat down and I pictured the version of me who had created and done everything that I wanted to do, of course she's gone through failure. Of course she has tried things and it hasn't worked and she's pivoted because that's where resilience is created. And I'm guessing if you listen to this, you probably have a decent amount of resilience already from your life. But there is something to be said from willingly putting yourself out there, knowing that you might fail, and choosing to continue anyway. So again, I just feel like I went on another little tangent there. But that is my advice as somebody who has gone out on a limb and created it, and created a business that is so not in line with where I thought my life was gonna be. I mean, if you look at my what I do, I think there's people out there who would say it's a little bit woo, which totally contradicts my training and my expertise as a licensed therapist, doing diagnosing, clinical, like all of that stuff. And it's not like I don't use that stuff. I definitely use the tools that I learned and the understanding of the brain and human behavior and psychology and the conscious and the subconscious and all of that. I 100% use all of that training and the work that I do. It's just not therapy. It's just not, you know, the conventional road. And to go out on a limb after becoming licensed and putting all the hours and everything into that and going down this road of helping people activate their purpose, helping people activate their gift or their creativity and make impact in this world. That is definitely a shift that took me a while and several quote failures and pivots to get to, but I'm so glad that I did because I can't imagine not building this business. I was actually just on a trip this weekend and I just kept coming back to like, I can't imagine doing or pursuing anything else at this point. And if you want to create that clarity in your life and you want to find the thing that you're like, I'm so convicted in this, I can't imagine doing anything else. I'm going to pursue this to the ends of the earth, we can reprogram your subconscious to access that part of your creativity. So I feel like I just dropped so much information. So I think we're gonna leave it there for today. I will leave the rewire session link and the one on one session bundle link in the show notes so that you can register there. If you have any questions about either of those programs or offerings, as always, do not hesitate to reach out. And I will see you in the next one.
