Welcome to the Expansion Edit Podcast, where if you hang around long enough, you'll learn that you can achieve anything by rewiring who you believe you are. I'm Chelsea, a licensed therapist, turned identity coach for the woman ready to create an extraordinary life and become the living manifestation of her vision board. Not through wishful thinking or fluffy affirmations, but through identity embodiment using proven techniques, rewiring protocols, and psychology-backed strategy grounded in neuroscience. Here we talk subconscious rewiring, nervous system safety, identity shifting, and manifestation in a way that expands your life from the inside out. So let's unlock your next level. Okay, welcome back to the podcast. Today we are talking about something that has been super on my mind lately, and that is the concept of inevitability. And this concept is basically, I'm gonna be make a very bold statement here, but I'm gonna say that this is the concept that will either make or break your ability to create and manifest and live the life of your dreams. Because you can know all of the tools to reprogram, which is a lot of what I talk about on here, is like you can know how to reprogram your subconscious, you can know what you need to do to reprogram your nervous system to create safety with visibility. But if you cannot continue to hold the idea that your success or the future you see for yourself is inevitable, then you are not going to continue down the subconscious reprogramming and nervous system reprogramming while you're not seeing the evidence or the outcome of that work yet. Because there is a time, and if you do this work, you know that this is true. There is a time that you are putting in the work, you are doing the thing, and nothing is happening. The only thing that's happening is you are frustrated, you are possibly overwhelmed, you are confronting every identity piece of yourself that you're like, this can't come with me, I need to let this go, I need to respond differently, I need to think differently. It is a lot of mental work when you are in that in-between place of I know where I want to go, and I'm not the version of me who I need to be to get there. That there's a lot of noise in between that. So if you cannot hold this concept of inevitability, that your success is inevitable, that you are inevitably getting to the spot where you say you are financially identity-wise, project-wise, like whatever it is, if you cannot hold that concept, that idea that your success or what you're working towards is inevitable, then you're not going to continue down the road. Because what happens is you decide, like, I'm becoming a person who does X, Y, Z, whatever it is, you create an online platform or you build a business or become a singer or whatever. Like you can be somebody who consciously decides that, but subconsciously, you have spent decades expecting a different reality. So while you do the reprogramming work, you have to hold the concept of inevitability. Otherwise, you have no reason to continue because it's gonna feel like you're not getting anywhere. You're gonna have doubt, emotional swings, urges to quit. You're gonna look for evidence that it isn't working, and feeling like you've somehow lost the plot. And all of those things I just want to note, one, are so normal and is 100% part of what you're gonna experience. But two, are literally ways that your subconscious and nervous system act to keep you safe, to keep you in the familiar. Because remember, your subconscious wants you to stay right where you are, because right where you are is safe and familiar. So these are all tactics that it uses to keep you right here. So if you didn't feel like you inevitably were going to be successful, why would you put yourself through all of that? You wouldn't. And so this is my argument to say you need to have such a strong sense of inevitability that you cannot be rocked by these things that you're inevitably going to go through when you are identity shifting and life shifting and purpose shifting and all the things. I'm going to share some techniques that you can use to develop this sense of inevitability. And something that I wanted to just note is when you can create this inevitability. Basically, what you're deciding is that your commitment is stronger than your current timeline. And you're no longer asking, is this going to work? You're asking, who do I need to become in order for it to work? And that's a very different question, and it's a very different place to be operating from. So, one other note I want to make about this is just because you believe something is inevitable doesn't mean that that's necessarily going to be the end result. What I mean by this is holding the inevitability is going to change how you behave because it helps you keep showing up consistently. You're going to make decisions in line with where you want to go, you're going to tolerate uncertainty, and you're going to keep refining. Those behaviors are going to make meaningful success more likely, but your end point of where you end up may not be necessarily 100% what you're mapping out right now. And I'll use myself as an example of this. When I sat down and wrote out my vision statement almost a year ago, yes, there are similar themes. Yes, it's a similar direction, but I will say specifically where I've gone and like the nuance of my messaging or who specifically I'm talking to may look different than what I set out, but the underlying core of the feeling and the message has remained the same. So there is going to be room for like differences and kind of small changes is not inevitably going to be exactly what you're picturing right now. And that's okay and it's expected, and I would say it's very normal. And also all that to say, I'm not in the end place of where I want to be, obviously, but just much further along than I was. I mean, when I wrote that statement last August. And just to look at like the difference of where I'm at, I feel like I say this so often, but it's just like kind of mind-blowing a little bit, like what you can accomplish when you really commit yourself to this. And when I say commit yourself to this, it's like, you know, I feel like I share a lot on here, but there's a lot, you know, that doesn't make it to Instagram, doesn't make it to TikTok, doesn't make it to the podcast. Like there are identity shifts, there are cryfests, there are all the things, but inevitably, to use that word again, I always come back to this is where I'm going. And I make sure that my behaviors, my thoughts, and my actions align with that. I know if you've listened to this podcast for a long time, you may have remembered that there's been a few times where I've talked about like, oh, I'm not drinking as much right now. You know, that remains true for me because I am so focused on inevitably where I'm going that I'm making decisions in line with the version of me who's already there. And that doesn't mean I'm never gonna drink again or I'm not gonna have a glass here and there or whatever. But right now I am in this full focus mode of like, that's not gonna make me feel good tomorrow morning. And tomorrow morning I need to be on so that I can receive content ideas and refine my message. It's like all these tiny things compound, and that's what I really want to get across is like all these tiny things compound into your inevitable arrival at the spot that you are working towards going. And for a long time, you're gonna see little to no evidence, and your brain is going to tell you there's no point in doing this because you're not gonna make it, because it wants you to stay where you are. Again, because it's trying to protect you. So I feel like I just rambled a little bit. But what I'm trying to say is you do not need the external proof before you allow yourself to believe where you're going. And if you feel like you do need proof of that, you can literally use me as proof because I believed where I was going way before I had any evidence. And there's still not evidence of where I ultimately see myself going, but I'm starting to see the small compounding moves show physical evidence of what I've been working towards since I wrote that vision statement last August. And if you follow me on social media, you'll probably, well, I don't know, maybe you wouldn't have, but you might have noticed that my platforms have grown and my message is broadening and I'm reaching more people, which is amazing. And that's exactly why I'm doing this because I know that this needs to reach more people because it literally is life-changing. And there's so many good, empathetic, compassionate, wonderful creatives who are living such a small life right now because they think they've been conditioned that that's like what they're supposed to do. And in reality, like we need these people to express their gifts and come into the world and just show us their creative genius. And that's like my mission is to make sure that nobody is living small because you can literally change your life with the things that I talk about here, not woo-woo manifestation, but like manifesting from neuroscience, from reprogramming your mind and your body. And again, I'm just going on tangents today because that's where I'm at. So I already said this, but a lot of people look for external proof before they allow themselves to believe that their path that they want is possible, but really it's the other way around. You have to believe first and act from that. And having that inevitability is going to help you bridge that gap so much faster. You can create your own evidence through repetition. So every, if you're a content creator, every piece of content that you put out puts you closer to refining your message and speaking to your ideal client, or you know, every sales call, every uncomfortable conversation, every rejection, like viewing all of those things as evidence that you're moving towards exactly where you want to go and where you want to be. And you don't ask, like, is this working every single time? It's just another vote for the identity that you're building. So if you can view all of that through the lens of inevitability, and I don't just mean blindly doing things without like re-evaluating, you want to do things and then hone and refine and leave your ego at the door and figure out like, is this working? Is that working? Like, what direction do I need to go in? Because that's all obviously also very important. Um, and then your nervous system, right? Your nervous system's job is familiarity, it's not achieving your dreams. So as you expand, uncertainty feels like danger at every level. Like you're always going to encounter that. Every time you grow, it's going to feel uncertain and it's going to feel scary. And so, and just remembering that that doesn't mean you're actually unsafe. It means your definition of what is normal and familiar is changing for you. So, what you can do in these moments to help regulate your nervous system is ask if I knew that my goal would happen eventually, how would I approach everything today? Or what would I stop obsessing over? Or where am I demanding proof instead of staying committed to my idea of inevitably getting where I'm going? Because again, all these things take up space in your brain. And if they're taking up space in your brain and you're overthinking and you're procrastinating and you're trying to search for all this proof, like that is precious, precious energy that you could be spending on actually doing things that's going to move the needle forward for you. And now I'm just going to go through a little list of things that you can practically start doing today to create more of a defined sense of inevitability so that you can kind of use that as your North Star while your identity and proof and reality is catching up. Because remember, there's always a lag between your identity and your external proof. And it's so frustrating and it doesn't get less frustrating, but you get you get better at tolerating the frustration. Like every time I feel like I enter a new identity or a new phase, I'm extremely frustrated because I expect my reality to reflect that immediately. And in reality, there is a lag always between your identity and what you see in your reality. So it's just holding that space and holding that inevitability while reality catches up. All right, so you can ask those questions that I just listed, maybe rewind and write those down so that you can go through them to create that inevitability. Another thing you can do is strengthen your vision. So this is, I think I did a podcast a while ago, like one of the first ones, I think, about vision. But basically, you want to create a future that you see for yourself. So write a letter that's five years down the road of what you've accomplished, where you're at, you know, make this very familiar. You bring in senses like coffee brewing, like, you know, things that would be in your reality, in your quote, dream reality, you know, that you have now, because it'll help your brain bridge that gap of familiarity. So you want to write a vision statement. I would also, you know, people have mixed ideas about this, but I love a good vision board. I love having inspiration, like on Pinterest, like I just like to go through and kind of craft out like where I see myself going. What do I want my life to look like? You know, how do I want to spend my time? All of these things. And I think having a vision of how you see that going, one, it again instills that vision, but two, it helps kind of reprogram your dopamine to like work towards this thing versus going for cheap hits like um, you know, food, alcohol, gaming if you're a gamer, like all these things. And if you can reprogram your dopamine to be so engaged with building your dream life and following through on your vision, you're gonna get so far. Like you're gonna get so much further than you know, waiting for those quick little hits. Yeah. And then the other thing I would say is repeat it to yourself. Repeat that your success is inevitable. Repeat that the place that you're going is inevitable. Because even if you don't believe it right now, repeating this is going to ingrain it into your subconscious and your nervous system. Like if you continually repeat something, it does get ingrained. And if you need proof of this, you can think about how you have certain beliefs right now about yourself and how those beliefs were ingrained in you over and over and over again until they became your reality. It is the same thing with this inevitability of the ideal outcome. So making sure that you are repeating this because remember, your brain, your subconscious, learns through repetition. So even if you do this for six months and you don't believe it, but then month seven, you start to like that is gonna put you on a very different path than you know, continuing to believe the same thing. Because remember, the beliefs that you have impact your actions and that creates your reality. We really want to instill this inevitability so that you can hold the uncertainty because there is so much uncertainty with choosing a path that is so aligned for you because you've probably never done anything like that before in your life. All this to say you are not going to wake up every day feeling certain. Like, I wish I could tell you that that were true, but like I have days now where I wake up and I'm like, what am I doing? Like, am I moving in the right direction? Like, what where what where are we going today? And that is just part of this path is that there is uncertainty, but it is learning to tolerate the uncertainty and move through it anyway where the change is going to come. So you want to become someone whose commitment isn't determined by your emotional state when you wake up. Like you want it to be determined by your habits and your conviction. Because if you have an emotional state and you move through it anyway, that's gonna get you so much further. And your nervous system is gonna catch up. If you start to move away from your normal emotional state to this is what we're doing and this is where we're going, your nervous system is going to eventually equate that with your normal. And it's going to seek out feeling that way over, you know, whatever emotional state you were feeling before, like scared, uncertain, fear, like all these things. So as you get further into this journey, you're going to look back and realize that the version of you that needed constant reassurance no longer needs that constant reassurance because you have instilled this level of inevitability into yourself. And you're not gonna need that immediate evidence. You're going to have faith that you're moving towards it anyway, even if you're not seeing the evidence yet. I've always stressed the importance of having this inevitability, but I'm realizing how much this concept has actually played into where I am sitting today. I've had days, you know, I've had days where I'm like, I know exactly where I'm going. This is it. Like we're moving, we're moving. And then I've also had days where I'm like, am I delusional? Like, am I being crazy? And I would always return to the same conclusion no matter what day I was having. And that conclusion was that it is just my job to keep communicating the message that I feel needs to be communicated, whether or not I'm receiving instant feedback on that. Now, I'm not saying ignore feedback. You need to, you need to take in feedback. Like if something isn't resonating, you know, shift that. But like obviously, this is a very specific example because I'm talking about my own business, and obviously that's not going to apply to everybody here. But, you know, whatever is the metrics in your industry or business, like obviously you want to look at those, but you don't want to jump ship before you know what you're doing has a chance to take root and work. So anyway, I'm at a point now where I see this is such an important part of creating the life that you want. Because if you don't have this, if you don't have faith that you're gonna get to that point, like you're going to give up because there's gonna be so much doubt in your journey. And again, I say this to say it's so normal. Like I still have a lot of doubt and I'm still moving through it anyway. So I hope this was helpful. Please reach out on Instagram or TikTok and let me know what you thought of this one and start doing some of these practices to really instill inevitability because I promise it will change your life. Okay, I'll see you in the next one.
