You're listening to the weekly word. The weekly word is a weekly message from God's Word. Brought to you from the archives of the Voice of Truth Center. Let's listen to today's message.

SPEAKER_01

Good morning, everybody! Welcome to Voice of Truth Center Sunday service. And we just listened to a beautiful song called Hosanna. And there was something in the song that hit me, and I wrote it down actually. Selfless faith. Selfless faith. There's something that was sung in there, and I'll tell you, if you really think about what that means, it is powerful. It is having faith that doesn't have anything to do with you. That's selfless faith. Has nothing to do with you. And having faith in something, someone is about laying down you, your mind, your body, your spirit, and understanding that in order for you to have faith in Jesus Christ, to have faith in God's Word, to have faith in the Holy Spirit, to have faith in God requires you to die to self. You can't have faith if you operate in yourself. Does that make sense? You can't have that, you can't have faith. Because then you believe in you, believing in that. But that's not what faith is. Faith is when you walk by faith and not by sight, that means you're taking the steps, knowing that God is leading you, and whatever He tells you, and whatever He shows you in word and in truth, you do it. Not questioning, not doubting, not being anything other than a humble, submissive, surrendered servant of the Lord. And that takes practice. That takes time. That takes self coming out and spirit coming in saying, okay, gang, this is what we're gonna do. We're gonna pray, we're gonna get in the word, we're gonna do the word, we're gonna walk out the word, we're gonna believe Jesus Christ died for all of our sins, and that we have eternity in heaven with the Father. We're gonna believe that every single day when we wake up, God is our main focus. God. And if God is your main focus, because the Bible says in Matthew 6, 31, 33, Matthew 6, 33, seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and everything else you need will be provided for you. That's what you have to do to begin your day. Friends, that is faith. Faith comes from hearing the word. You get activated in your faith when you lay down yourself. When you say, not my mind, renew my mind, I have the mind of Christ, I will take every thought captive that is not of God, that is not truth, and I will toss it out in the name of Jesus. I have hearing ears. My ears hear you, God, in your word, in prayer, when I walk things out, I hear you. My eyes, Lord, I want to see things that you want to show me. I want to see things the way you see them, God. Lord, I want to speak only words of truth in the name of Jesus Christ. I only want things to come out of my mouth that are from you, from your word, from truth. I don't want to speak my own words, God. I want to speak what you tell me to speak. I want you, Holy Spirit, to speak through me. I don't want anything to come out of my mouth that is not God. That is not truth in the name of Jesus Christ. Lord, I want my heart to be your heart. I'm asking you, God, to create in me a clean heart. Clean out the muck, the mire, and the crap that I have stored in my heart for all these years. Because I decided I was holding on to it. Well, Lord, I have selfless faith now, so I can't hold on to anything that is not of you. So clean out my heart, Lord. Take everything out of my heart that needs to go, and then help me heal from what you remove. Forgive me, Father, for putting all that muck and mire in my heart. Because my heart is all for you. Not the world, not man, not myself. Selfless faith means my heart is your heart. You are in me, Jesus Christ. You're in my heart. When I got saved, Father, when we got saved, we asked you into our heart. So our heart is full of Jesus Christ and word and truth and spirit. So, Father, the essentials of life, the mind, the body, and the spirit, we give to you for your purpose, for your plan for this day. We'll stay today, Lord. So take over, Holy Spirit. Indwell in us, lead us, motivate us, convict us when we're wrong, convict us when we sway from God's truth. Holy Spirit, we want to have selfless faith. We're asking you, we're giving you permission, Holy Spirit, to mess us up from the top of the head to the soles of our feet and everything in between. We want others to see the Father, the Son, and you, Holy Spirit, in us. We don't want others to see the world in us, to see darkness in us, to see sin in us. We want them to see your light, all of you. The Godhead, three in one, the Trinity, alive in us. That's what we want, Father. That's a true Christian who every single moment of every single day we die to self. The old man that was in us before Jesus Christ entered into us on our salvation day. That's who we want others to see. Because then they'll see truth, they'll see the spirit of you, God, and they'll see life everlasting. They'll see a forgiven child. They'll see humility, humbleness, meekness. They'll see joy, and above all, they'll see faith. No matter what, no matter when we're shaken, we have faith to know we will not be moved. Even through the trials and tribulations of life, the persecutions. We Christians have God's strength in us to overcome, to scale the mountains, to walk past the persecutions, trusting that you, God, have your hand outstretched upon us. Nothing. Nothing will happen. You God are for us. You can be against us. We are the head of God. We are yours. We do not operate in power nor might by your spirit. Because your spirit is in us. Your holy holy one is in us. Jesus Christ is in our heart. God, you oversee everything. And you are here all the time. So Lord, today I pray we all shake off whatever has happened up until two seconds ago. We walk into truth with a selfless, unending faith that will carry us and drive us and push us through this day. This beautiful palm Sunday. So thank you, Jesus, for the humility that you taught us. And for the love that we are to have for everyone. Okay, Lord, I know we're starting in Acts chapter nine. This was Paul's conversion, which was the second most miraculous conversion in the entire Bible. Paul was second, Jesus Christ's resurrection was first. Conversions, transformations, it's beautiful. The resurrection of Jesus Christ was a conversion from him from death to life. And it was absolutely incredible. So we're gonna start in, I'm gonna paraphrase a few things here. Um Paul was on the road to Damascus, Jesus kind of showed up, said, Paul, why are you persecuting me? It's hard for you to kick against the goats because Paul's conscience, he's Saul now, sorry. Saul's conscience was already being pricked by God. Do you understand that? There was something stirring when Stephen was martyred. He was there for that. There was something stirring. And guess what? God said, It's time right now. Let's do this right now. He needs to be converted right now. So Saul was trembling and astonished. I'm in verse 6. I'm sorry. Lord, what do you want me to do? Then the Lord said to him, Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do. And the man who journeyed with him stood speechless. They heard a voice, but they saw no one. Only Saul saw him. Only Saul, saw Jesus. But they heard Jesus. How awesome is that? They heard the voice. Then Saul arose from the ground, and when his eyes were opened, he saw no one. So Saul is temporarily blind. He lost his sight. He has lost his sight. But I do believe that he had his sight when he saw Jesus. He saw the light and now he went into darkness. This is all symbolic. Isn't that what happened to all of us when we got saved? We were walking in darkness and we saw the light. The light of Christ became very real to us. How did that happen? When everyone was saved, you took that step of faith to receive Jesus Christ. If you didn't have faith, you wouldn't have Jesus in you. Okay? So he went three days without sight and neither ate nor drank. You understand that three days in the Bible is really, really important. And we'll talk about that in the end, but three days is that's when Jesus died and rose again. And it all happened in three days. So three days is always really, really important with God. Now, there was a certain disciple of Damascus named Ananias, and to him the Lord said, in a vision, Ananias, and he said, Here I am, Lord. Ananias is a disciple. He's being called a disciple. Being a disciple of Christ means you are a follower of Christ. Does Ananias ever question that that's not the Lord? Do you know why? He had faith. He knew that was the Lord calling him, because he says, Here I am, Lord. That's selfless faith. Ananias was minding his own business, doing his own routine, and all of a sudden you hear your name. That's happened to me before, I'm sure it's happened to some of you before. Sometimes it's just a word. I know people say sometimes everybody says they hear from the Lord. Well, guess what? There are people who hear from the Lord. Okay? Now there are people that might be false prophets that say that and they don't hear from the Lord, and God talks about that. He says, That's not me, that wasn't me. I didn't. There's sometimes in the Old Testament where God comes right out and says, I didn't say that. I didn't say that. I didn't tell him to tell you that. And so if you're if you're operating not in this and you're operating in a spirit of um dissension and a spirit of deception, and you're going around telling people, God say, God said, God said, don't worry, God's gonna shut you down. Just like he shut down Saul. He says, Oh no, I don't think so. So I love this part because Ananias is walking in obedience. How do you walk in faith? You do what God tells you to do. How do you know what God tells you to do? You listen. You get in here, you pray, you believe what you read. This is another faith thing, guys. You have to when you read this, you have to believe that it's the truth. And you have to do what the word says. That is selfless faith. If you open the Bible and you're like, I know I'm sinning, I'm gonna find scripture that verifies that it's gonna be, it's okay if I do this in. And over the years I've heard many people, addicts, tell me, Well, it's a and I'm like, okay, you're twisting that word for your own selfish desires. Do you know how many people do that? It's the truth. I'm being real, I'm just being real. That people do that. They will find scripture, they will twist it, they will tweak it, and then they will come to you and say, but the Bible says, and you're like, well, okay, first of all, that is not what the Bible's saying, and let's sit down together and dissect it so that you get the real truth, because your faith right now is taught on what you want. And if you open the Bible with the expectation is, I know somewhere in here it's gonna tell me that I didn't cheat on my wife hypothetically. Well, no, it's not. No, it's not. So people sometimes use this for their own sin, for their own gain. Well, God said, God said, nothing, Jack. You got that all wrong because of what you want. And that therein lies unite. We're not really humans, we're pilgrims now. Do you understand the Bible calls us pilgrims? We're servants, we're soldiers, we're God's disciples, we're we're whatever your gift is, you gave up what you were, and you're now walking in what He wants you to be. That's selfless faith. You can't, we talk about this all the time, you can't walk with God on certain days and walk away from God on certain days because then your heart is not in it. It's another thing I've been writing home. Are you you're in or you're out. You're in or you're out. I mean, if you're in, you're walking selfless faith. If you're out, you're walking in yourself. You know why? Because even when you come to church on Sunday and you don't do anything with God the rest of the week, you're out. You're gonna hear those words when you go to heaven because we all have judgment day. You're gonna hear this. I don't know you. I don't know you. What have you done for the Lord? Always look at the fruit. You want me to tell you something with all this crap that's going on on social media right now? I'm gonna tell you something. If people are dissing somebody who preaches the gospel, who preaches this, who faithfully talks about this, but the person dissing someone never talks about God or sparingly does it. They're not from God. They're not walking in selfless faith, and they're not walking in truth. You have to look at the fruit. How many times does the Bible tell you what's the fruit? Where's the fruit coming from? There's two kinds of fruit. There's good fruit and there's bad fruit. The good fruit are the fruits of the Spirit in Galatians. Love, joy, peace, all those beautiful things. Meekness, humility, all those things. Fruit isn't always what you do for people. You do for people because God told you to. Help the poor and needy. Help the poor and needy. It's all over the Bible. Why do you think we feed people? We don't just feed them food, we feed them truth. How are people gonna get faith in Jesus Christ if you're not being like Jesus Christ? He fed thousands! But that was just that was a miracle that he did that. Not just, but it was a miracle from his father. Who blessed the five, the two loaves and five, the two fish and five loaves. God did. What did Jesus do? Thank you. That's what he said. Thank you, Father. He didn't go into some long dissertation prayer. God was simple. Jesus was simple. He said that, he said, Lord, this is what we got. I don't even think he said that. He just held it up and said, Thank you, God. And what happened? Why do we make it so complex? I'll go stand out here on the street corner, carry them a cross, and maybe people see it and feel sorry for it. Oh God, get out of yourself. Jesus was simple because his father's. We make it so complex. Let's keep going. You know, I'll go on a tangent. So then he says, Here I am, Lord. So the Lord said to him, Arise and go to the street called straight and inquire at the house of Judas for one called Saul of Tarsus, for behold, he is praying. So what is the Lord doing? Giving him direction. Does Ananias have faith that that's Jesus? Yes. Does he question? No. He says, okay. He does have one question though. Right? And in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and pulling his hand on him so that he might receive his son. Now, think about this for a second. Ananias got word. This is faith. He says to him, Saul is seeing a vision of not just a man, but Ananias coming in and putting his hand on him so they might receive his sight. What Jesus is telling Ananias is, I've gone ahead of you. How powerful is that? Exactly. I've prepared the way. Now, in that moment, Ananias becomes human. What does he say? Lord, I've heard from many about this man, how much harm he has done to your saints in Jerusalem, and here he has authority from the chief priest to bind all who call on your name? See what happened? Ananias is, we do this as Christians. Yes, yes, yes, Lord, I'm here. What do you want me to do? I'm excited, let's do it. Ananias missed the part that he went and prepared the way. He missed that part. Because what happened in Ananias' head? It happens when God tells you to do something. The human, the self side of you, the flesh, starts coming up with reasons why you can't. The minute God speaks to you through word and in prayer, the enemy is right. Right there to put doubt and anxiety and false word in your spirit, which is taking your faith back. Is that what happened to Ananias? He started to get a little like huh? Wait, who? That one? Oh! Do you understand in that moment his mind took over before Jesus finished what he was saying? The minute that Jesus told him he was going to Saul of Tarsus, Ananias missed verse 12. He missed verse 12. Where Jesus said, Alright, don't care. He knows you're gonna give him a son of that. He knows that you're gonna give him a game. I gave him your name. So you know what? Ananias is thinking, You gave him my name! Oh God! And Jesus is like, Oh, exactly. It's fear and faith are complete enemies. If you have fear, you don't have faith. You fear the Lord.

unknown

Which is functional.

SPEAKER_01

Because, and people are like, and it's not like this, I'm so afraid of you, God. It's not that kind of fear, it's reverential fear. You want to do things his way. You want to die to yourself so that you can be all in. All in. That's why you die to self. So you're not thinking like this. Like you're you're not like, like, I can't, I can't, and God's up there going, I already run before you! I already made the way. It's not a coincidence that Paul is on straight straight. There's a lot of meaning there, right? What is straight meaning? What does straight mean in the world? Yeah. What does straight mean? You're not on many paths going in all different directions, you're on the narrow path.

SPEAKER_03

Line.

SPEAKER_01

And in alignment. Straight is alignment with the Father. There's no curves, there's no diversions, it's straight. That's a lot of meaning on the street that Saul is on. And he talked about all the stuff we just said. He talked about Saul preached on all the things that take you out of alignment with God. Saul was a church planter. Not only did he plant churches, he helped them grow. Some of the churches were already there. What did Saul come in and do? He went in and trained them up in the word. He trained them up in the way they should go. Alright, so let's keep going. So you understand right now where Ananias is. I'm sure some of you are like, I've been there, I've been there. Oh my god, this makes sense. Ananias answered, and he and then he said, But the Lord said to him, Go. It's the second time he told him to go. You realize that, right? Go. Is Ananias still standing there? What's he doing? But Lord, oh Lord. And the Lord's like, go! So the first time he told him to arise, which meant he was either in praying position because he knew this was coming. You always know when God's getting ready to use you. And you and you had that unction to pray, y'all that selfless faith. How many things do we miss in a day? Because we're in self. Ananias knew it was coming. Why would he arise? What position was he in? He knew something was about to come, and who showed up?

unknown

Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_01

Isn't that beautiful? Now you know, Jesus is gone. He ascended back to heaven. He came back. We're gonna read another scripture too in a minute where he came back. So listen. Go, for he is a chosen vessel of mine to bear my name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. For I will show him how many things he must suffer for my name's sake. You realize he is telling Ananias that there are consequences to what he did. Don't think for a second that Saul didn't know this was coming. So we're gonna jump from here. We're gonna go to 2 Corinthians 4. This is Paul talking again, just a little down the road. 2 Corinthians 4. We're gonna start in verse 7. Okay. You know being in ministry and serving the Lord is bittersweet, right? It has its moments where it's just absolutely very hard. And then it has its moments where it's absolutely very glorious. And try it's kind of like you know what I think of when I think of being in ministry, and not everybody can attest to this, but you and me, giving birth. It's a long journey, it's a long nine months of carrying a child, a living, breathing child in you, and some of us did it more than once. And the moment when you go into labor and you give birth, it is very painful, it is very taxing on the mind, body, and spirit. Because you literally have this, like my first daughter was almost nine pounds. You literally have this hunk of chunka coming out of your body. And there's there for me, I don't know about you, mama, but for me it was bittersweet because I loved that I had a living being inside of me, and it's a miracle from God. And you know, I hear people like I didn't stick every time they kid kids, and I'm like, Oh, I thought it was joyful. I would try to hold her hands, her feet and hands when because you could see her feet sometimes sticking outside, and because she was big, and I would hold I would hold her foot. It was so beautiful. To me, it was beautiful, not all people can attest to that being pregnant, but it was it was a very challenging labor. I was in labor with Alyssa for 14 and a half hours, and it was very challenging and it was very exhausting, and it was very painful. It was probably one of the most painful experiences I've ever been through in my life. And but but pushing and pushing and pushing, and then all of a sudden you're you're exhaust. I was so tired. And then I heard and I was like, my baby. I didn't know it was a girl. I didn't know what any of my kids were. Oh wow. So I didn't know what any of my three daughters were. Um and what the minute you heard that, you know, they're like, No, I gotta push again, I gotta get the pull such out. I'm like, I don't care. She's kidding me, I don't care. I had energy that God gave me. I was so excited, she fractured my toxic bone on the way out, and and that, and it was just pain everywhere. The the epidural didn't take, and this is pain everywhere. But the minute you heard that child crying, the minute you went through all the travailing, you know what I'm saying, and the intercessing, the the warring to get this kid out. That minute that you heard her cry, I was just like, Can I just please see her? I just need to see her, you know, and and nobody, no man can ever experience that, unfortunately. But every mom that gave birth to their child just remembers them coming up, and they literally just laid the child on your chest, and you're just like, I mean, I'm crying, and I'm like, and they're like, push Michelle, and I'm like, okay, you're in this alternate universe all by yourself, and you know, you're just like, sure, I'll push. You know, it doesn't matter if it hurts. Because the glorious moment when the child that you carried and rubbed your belly and said, Come on, kid, we gotta sleep. That child, you're meeting that child for the first time face to face. So it's like, what it's happening. But that's the only experience I can attest to bittersweet ministry. Because all of that hardship and persecution, all of a sudden you're just like, wow. I just remember shit. And she's dirty and bloody and she's the mess, but it didn't, it didn't matter. It didn't matter, you know, and here you are all everything's hanging out, and who cares? Nobody cared! Nobody in that moment, that mama moment, that mama moment, nobody cared. I didn't care. The president of the United States is gonna walk down the room and I'd be like, shh, you know, it didn't matter. I didn't even I can't even tell you what happened. Can you even tell anybody what happened after that? No. And you're sitting there holding your child? That's what that's what ministry's like. And I know some people are gonna disagree with me because we always do it. But in that moment, in ministry, when you see someone get saved, when you get through the persecutions and and the blessings on the other side, nothing matters. That's self-mistake. So listen, let's listen to this little bit. Alright, so verse, where are we on? Verse 7. And this is Paul talking. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not us. You understand that your earthen vessels are weak and fragile. You know who else understands your earthen vessels are free? Weak and fragile? The devil and God. So he's preparing us, Paul, right now, for what he just what God said in Acts 9. Okay, about the bittersweet ministry. So he's saying, but we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. God, the knowledge of God in the face of Christ. That's what God is showing us in this. No matter what the earthen vessel faces, the power of God is in your face. It's in you. He is in you. When you look in the mirror, I like to look in the mirror when I'm persecuted. Not because I want to see this downtrodden, weak person. I want to see God. I want to see God in those times when it is challenging and difficult, and I appear weak. Because you're never weak in Christ. You're never weak. Think about him. Whenever I look in the mirror and I've got a lot going on, and there's and I feel beat up. You ever feel beat up? I know we all have. I see Jesus on the cross. I see Jesus bleeding and crown of thorns on his head, and I think to myself, okay, this isn't that bad. This isn't that bad. I am going to come through this just like Ananias, y'all. I'm going, I'm not afraid, Laura, I'm not afraid of nothing. Trust me, I'm not. I will go anywhere. I will do anything. I'm the one who, when life is barking in the yard and so was clearly out there, I march out there in my pajamas and robe and slippers, and I say, get off at a property in the name of Jesus Christ.

unknown

And I don't say it's quietly.

SPEAKER_01

But I'm not afraid because you know the bitch black in my whole yard. I do. I'm gonna say, Leika, thank you for the warning. Let's do this, girl. And my husband's in the house going, but you know what? Who cares? All for the glory of God. But I don't want anybody messing with my property. I don't want anybody messing with my truck. I don't want anybody messing with my loved ones. I don't want anybody messing with anybody that's part of this church. So we'll go to more for you. Okay, so let's keep on. Okay, so then it says in verse 8, we are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed. So it's telling you the protection and the persecution God keeps within manageable proportion. Does that make sense? Who's got your back? What did Jesus say to Ananias? I've gone before you. So when you're in the thick of persecution, he's gone before you. That's why he says, you're not crushed. You'll never be crushed. You know why? You have selfless faith. Do you believe that when you're under attack, God is with you? So why would you not believe what Ananias just did? You hear what you want to hear. You believe what you want to believe, but when you have selfless faith, you only listen to the Father. You only listen to his truth. He's telling you right here. You're hard-pressed on every side, but you're not crushed. We're perplexed, but we're not in despair. Come on, y'all. He's gonna pull you from here and put you here for his purpose.

SPEAKER_02

It's not gonna feel good. It's gonna hurt like hell. And you're gonna say, but I like being there, but I like doing that, but I wanna do that, but I blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. Just stop walking. He can't move you. If you're holding on to that.

SPEAKER_01

If you're holding on to something because you thought it was yours, you're definitely wrong. Nothing is yours! Nothing! Not those kids who drive you crazy, not your money in the bank, not your job, not your home, nothing is yours. In Christ, we own nothing. God owns us. In Christ, we do not walk in a spirit of fear, of power, love, and a sound mind. In Christ, know that when he pulls you out of a place, he's placing you in another place. Not for you, for him. That's selfless faith, y'all. That's understanding that the trials and tribulations that you're going through now is because he's trying to pull you out and place you where he needs you. He chooses to use us.

SPEAKER_02

We don't choose him. We never did.

SPEAKER_01

You just got ready to be chosen. We're always getting ready to be chosen. We're always getting ready for the next mission. And it's never gonna be what you want. I love people all the Lord, I'll take the building, and I'll take the patrons, and I'll take the do-do-do. Oh shush. Lord, your will be done. Your will be done in the name of Jesus Christ. And Lord, if you want us to preach out of an RV, that's what we're gonna do. Because we don't stop, we do it in an isted. Go! Arise! Get up! The time is now! Do you know how many people are sitting around twiddling their thumbs waiting for about that vision? Hey, well, what are you doing about the vision? Where's the fruit? Where's your fruit? Are you still twiddling your thumbs, waiting for a million dollars to fall out of the sky? And I'm bringing it up, Lord, I'm bringing it up, Lord. Oh God, please. You've got to walk by faith. He've got to take risks. Jesus did. Come on, y'all. Jesus went on the cross with no guarantees. None! God didn't say to him, I think a million people will be saved if you do this. No, that's not what God does. There isn't a if then. No, there's a lot of that in the Bible, but it's all on us. If you pray, then God will answer. If you die to self, then you'll take up your cross and follow Jesus. You can't follow Jesus in yourself. Period. You can't. We follow Christ in the Spirit and in truth. We follow Jesus by consistently, constantly talking to the Father because that's what Jesus did. Jesus didn't go up to a leper and give him 13,000 scriptures. He said, be healed. Do you believe I can heal you? Do you have faith? Yes, Lord. Then you're healed. Go and tell the priest. That's what Jesus always was simple. Demons, get out. Oh, they want to go on the pigs. Let us in the pigs. Sure, I'll put you in the pigs. And then you're going right off the cliff. Sure.

SPEAKER_02

Run!

SPEAKER_01

Run the piggy, run! Boom! Off the cliff all dead. Do you think Jesus was gonna really listen to the devil? No. That's not how it works. Jesus had a it's just what he did with Ananias. What did he do? What did he do? He had a plan! What does he need from us? The plan's already done, y'all. What does he need from us? Submission, surrender, get up and go! Go! Yeah, I know you're gonna be making those signs tomorrow for that RV. I'm gonna be walking through it with whoever wants to come and walk through it, and we're gonna figure out this goes, that goes, Yo Gas, we're just gonna speak it out. Church is gonna be on the RV. It's gonna be the revival vehicle instead of the recreational vehicle. There. He said it. That's fake. Till that building comes forth. Because you know they're being stubborn. But that's okay because God's in control. God's allowing it. Remember that. God's allowing it. Soon he won't, and it's all gonna work out just fine. But in the meantime, the revival vehicle will be hitting the road soon. So let's continue on because we're not done. Then he says, Persecuted but not forsaken, struck down but not destroyed. Y'all, you're gonna be hard-pressed, you're gonna be perplexed, you're gonna be uh persecuted, you're gonna be struck down, but what you won't be is crushed in despair, not forsaken, and not destroyed. Always caring about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus. That's what I was trying to explain to you when you look in the mirror, when you're going through hard times. What do you see? The mind, the spirit, the body of Jesus laying up on that cross. If you can see that when you're going through these rough times, then you're there. You're there. Because nothing, nothing, nothing you go through compares to the crucifixion. And then he says, for we live, for we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus' sake. Every day, guys, if you're in Christ every day, will you die and your spirit gets buried? Or do you does your spirit go to heaven? Absolutely. When Jesus Christ died on the cross, one of the greatest miracles and benefits of his resurrection, of his burial, Of his death, of his ascension, and of his life, was that you get to live eternally in the Heavenly Father. So every day, that's what you cling to. I'm not going from this earth to another. You're going from this earth to heaven. And that to me is a shout to the heavens, Hosanna, because he saved me from death. So the whole journey on earth is you're dying to yourself to prepare you for living in eternity with the Father. That's why you die yourself. You're on this sanctification path from now till you stand in front of God and the properly heads on judgment day and he comes to you. I am your father well done, my good and faithful servant. You did exactly what I told you to do. You die yourself and you walked by faith. That's what I want to hear. I don't want to miss it because I'm so stuck in my face. I want to catch it because somebody needs Jesus, somebody needs truth, somebody needs God. And we miss it because we're humans are just not oblivious to distractions. If you're walking in the Holy Spirit, they don't matter. Distractions don't matter. Okay, got it. Okay, shh. It's like you're walking through this field of stuff and you're like, shh, yeah, I know it. Yeah, I don't know it. Yeah, I know it. Why do you think it says if you have faith in the lustre seed, you can move in the mountain? What do you think the mountains are? Distractions.

SPEAKER_03

Problem of the world.

SPEAKER_01

Problem of everything here. The mountain is persecution. The mountain is being perplexed. The mountain is forsaken. The mountain is not gonna move if you don't have faith. If you can see these things in front of you, I owe this bill. I'm getting ready for eviction. I don't have any food. I'm lonely. I'm not sure what to do. I hate my life. I want to go. All this stuff is striving for your attention. You want me to tell you what to do if that's you? Look up and stand there. Stand there. Even if you have to say, I can't do this. Help me.

unknown

Help me.

SPEAKER_01

Help me understand the thought. Help me keep walking through all this wire. And trust me, before you know, distractions. Here you are. Full attention. God's got his ear inclined and his eyes on you. Because you had the faith to walk out of the mucking mire of life and look up and say, I need you. I don't know how to do this. I am perplexed. I am shaken. I am struck down. I am persecuted. I am overwhelmed. I can't do this anymore. I need you to take over in the name of Jesus Christ. I am there. And I'm free when I'm done with it. I might be standing there for two hours. I don't care. He's given a whole body strength to stand there. That's you surrendering yourself to the Father. Because all these other things, nothing matters more than him. And guess what will start happening that time that you're standing there looking up? You're giving him each thing. I can't. You already professed it. I can't do this. I need your help. That's all he wants to hear. What does God want more than anything? A relationship with you. That's what God wants more than anything. A relationship. And Paul's explaining right here that Christ died for such a time as this, which you're going through right now. Christ died for. For such a time as this. It's finished. It is. And that's what you have to look at your distractions and your problems. And you've got to profess word over them. You've got to profess that your father is in the greatest place ever right now. The greatest place ever. And your son will be delivered from the demonic forces trying to take him down. You have to have faith that no matter where you are in life, he knows exactly where you are. He needs you to stand still. Look up and lay it down. Come to me off you poor. We can wear it up with you guys. This burden is light. It's easy. He already died on the cross. You know what I'm saying? That's what he's trying to tell you in that scripture. I already made the way. It is finished. I am perfect. He is perfect. We strive to be like him. We won't be perfect till we're there. We sure as heck can try till we get there. Well done. You know? So then it says, We're honest done. And since we have the same spirit of faith according to what is written, I believed and therefore I spoke. We also believe and therefore speak, knowing that he who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise up with Jesus. Raise us up with Jesus and will present us with you. This is a promise, y'all. He's telling you. For all things are for your sakes, that grace having spread through the many may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.

Wow.

SPEAKER_01

Verse 16, therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. How glorious is that! Our bodies are just that. We're gonna have age lines, our hair's gonna turn gray, we're gonna have all this other garbage that tries to come across our body because our bodies are old and weak. This is the weak our bodies will become weak. Yes, you can exercise, you can eat right, you can you should do all this because your body's a temple and you want to carry on to do what the God's calling you to do, and I don't want to hunt, I'm still as energetic and active as I am in 60. Because you know what? I have a mission. I cannot like up! He's saying, get up! I can't get a hundred, get up! And I hope I am, I pray I am. But what he's saying is, if you renew your mind, your your body and your spirit respond. When you get truth in your up here, and it permeates in your heart, in your spirit, in your body, you have energy. I can tell you, if I get up and and the crap is hitting the fan and all this stuff is going on, I'm getting 17 million text messages, and I don't even know what's happened, or there's some stupid social media post from some stupid person that's saying something stupid, and everybody's believing it. Because you know, you gotta take everything to God, you gotta take everything to the word! And all of a sudden you wake up and you read something and you're like, it destroys you. Anyone ever have that? You wake up in the morning and you read something, it destroys you. Uh-uh. You have to renew your mind with word. Get to God, get to God, get to God. That's why you don't look at your phone before you go to God. Ever. Because you know why? Just like Ananias, God prepares you for what's yet to come. He prepares you so that when it does come, you're like, oh yeah, that's what that word is about. And you renewed your mind by word and prayer and being in his presence. And his presence is glorious. It's like when the baby shoots out and you have that bloody baby on your chest. It's glorious.

SPEAKER_02

God made this child.

SPEAKER_01

You understand what I'm saying? It's the moment where you don't let the world tear you down. Why do you let that happen? Why do you let people who are in a bad mood crush you? By the way, we're gonna finish this because there's more to it. Our Bible study, we're at Panera. We're gonna be at Panera Bread on Tuesday at 6.15. Or Abington, yeah. Thank you, Steve. Panera Bread and Abington at 6.15. Get a meal if you don't have money for a meal, pay for your meal, whatever. Just come. Come because we're gonna finish this on Tuesday. But back to what I was saying. Why do we allow that out there pointing at the world to affect us so much? Because you're not in the word, you're not in prayer, you're not walking in selfless faith, and you believe that there's something greater than God about that.

SPEAKER_03

Wow.

SPEAKER_01

We'll just let that settle for a second before we drive. And his son. Something no one would ever take up. The sins of the world. And I'm sure Jesus never ever forgets that. That's why he was a bad guy. Why do you think he showed up to Ananias? He could have sent a little bit showed up. Why? Because he knew Ananias would be great. I say that we want to be in Ananias. And we want to hear what Jesus is saying. Because Jesus is saying, I am the Lord. I am the truth. I am the liar. Why is it so important? People put a sun on the cross. He raised it. There's no one lightier than God in the world. Not even that. There's no one lighter than God. So why? Why would we look for someone greater than God? And he's right here. It is you trust. Help us die to lay down all human insights, all human matters, all human sin. All human stuff. Help us lay it all down and receive the free gift. Your grace. Looking back at Saul's conversion. Saul had selfless. Saul knew it was you. He knew that he was doings wrong. He submitted and surrendered to do what you told him to do. He did it. He didn't question.

SPEAKER_02

He didn't even say anything.

SPEAKER_01

He obeyed and did exactly what you said to do. That was selfless faith that began in Saul and carried all the way through the New Testament. So thank you for your lesson today. Laying down everything. That man laid down killing and brutalizing Christians. Your people.

SPEAKER_02

He was brutalizing your people.

unknown

Wow. Help us, Father. Help us, Lather.

SPEAKER_01

We can't do this without you. We gotta stay in word. We gotta stay in prayer. We gotta walk truth, talk truth, be truth. We gotta have faith. And we gotta lay down anything that's us. And walk that faith every day. And it starts.
