From the late 1970's through the early 2000's, the Athens, GA music scene thrived. The Old Hippie Podcast is a collection of stories and interviews led by Vanna Pilgrim centered around the conception and early years of three key venues: the Uptown Lounge, The Georgia Theatre and Super Jam. Our purpose is to create a space to share the hardships, joys, losses, and successes experienced during those decades. The podcast features local business owners, employees, and musicians who collectively contributed to a moment in time we don’t want to forget, preserving the memories surrounding this era of Athens music and culture.
