Quick recap of how I spent my March and April since I have been MIA! But I missed you all and I am back!
Rest In Paradise Aunt Cathy and Kyshea Dean!!
Hey cousins, hey. Quick update. Surgery went great. Recovery was nowhere close to as bad as I thought it was gonna be. I was off all my payments within a week and feeling worlds of better already. The day that I came home from the hospital, my grandson was waiting in our yard to greet me home. He just warmed my heart. I did so much in those six weeks. At this point, I would say I don't need any more vacation time during 2026. But that would be a damn lie. My first task was to heal good enough to where I didn't need constant supervision. My husband was on my back the entire time. So I worked on my podcast logo for merchandise that will be available soon. Y'all look out for that. And then I began to plot on what I was gonna do with the time that I had. So first I bleached my locks by myself, y'all, and they didn't fall out. Thank you, Lord. I was so worried because I had never worked with bleach myself. My brother had always done it for me previously, but he wasn't around. But God decided that I could keep my hair, so that was a good day. Shortly after the two weeks had passed, it was time to go to my first checkup. My surgeon's name was Dr. Blight, and she is absolutely amazing. She made sure that I was good, checked my incisions, made sure that everything was healing properly. They were almost completely close. And it's because I did some research and found out that a high protein diet can help with the process of healing after surgery. So, anywho, after that, me and my husband went fishing a couple of times. The second was much better than the first. But what brought us to fish in the bank was grief. My husband's aunt's health had been declining for a while. But on March 22nd, 2026, Aunt Kathy went on to be with the Lord. So because my husband needed some peace of peace for him to sit in his feelings, we went fishing. It relaxed his mind and brought him so much more solace. Whatever he needed, as long as it was healthy healing, I was gonna ride with him. Exactly one week later, his younger cousin that was only 32 passed, rest in paradise, Aunt Kathy and Keisha Deen. March was definitely hard. I pray for their children. Shortly after that, I started working on my leg tattoo from hip to ankle, all Disney. How exciting! It's it's all completely done. I'm about 17 hours in, but I do have to go back for final touch-ups. I'm still trying to finish healing a little bit more from the peeling, but I'm so excited to see it as a finished product. The following week, I was off to Panama City, Florida with one of my really good friends and her two kids. Night one, while leaving the garage at the hotel, I was avoiding a car coming around the corner that would have clipped my bumper. I moved over closer to the right and I rubbed a peeler in the garage. My heart sunk into my gut. I was devastated. I have never even hit a curb with my wheel. And at this point, I don't even want my car anymore. But those are all problems for when I get home. So I tried to just let it go for when I got home. Over the next few days, we rode go-karts, mini roller coasters, all the fair rides, spent time down on the beach, ate plenty of seafood, brought souvenirs, saw some really beautiful horned owls and dolphins, and even rode the Ferris wheel and got sunburned severely. Now, let me tell you about these kids. These kids aren't impressed by shit. Shit, I tell you. Now, I don't want to call these kids ungrateful because I do believe they are thankful, but because my friend has done so well at providing for them, they don't realize how blessed they are. By the time we were about to head home, I was ready to go. Those kids bickered, and I was ready to ninja kick them both in the throat, but I didn't want to go to jail. I mean, orange looks great on me, but I love my freedom. A day or so after I got back from the beach, I came home and I crashed my mom's lunch, and then we all went out on a boat ride for the day. I then proceeded to look for a new car, being that I had scratched up the side of my car the week prior. Well, it sounds like I got you guys all caught up on my six weeks vacation from work. I today am feeling like a new person. Yes, I am still getting tired. I did have to go for an iron transfusion shortly after surgery, but I feel so much better. I would completely do it over again. Now, thank you for tuning in to Den of Queens. Make sure you subscribe and share with my cousins so you can all listen to future episodes of your new favorite podcast.
