So we're going to talk about some attire today, right? Before we get to uh our special guest, what he's wearing. Coach, uh, you normally don't dress this way. What is uh what is this shirt you're wearing today and why are you wearing it?
SPEAKER_02So for all the Madridista fans, Real Madrid fans, um, I'm wearing the uh Real Madrid basketball uh uh crest shirt uh for the fact that Real Madrid has qualified for the Euro League semifinals. They're gonna be held in Athens, Greece next weekend. I'm very excited about it. Uh it will be an all-Spanish semifinal between Real Madrid and Valencia, making their first ever uh Final Four appearance. And on the other side of the bracket, Federbache out of Istanbul, Turkey, versus Olympiakos out of Piraeus in Greece. And so there'll be a Greek team representing, and I'm very excited about it. So that's why I'm wearing my Real Madrid shirt today.
SPEAKER_00You notice, Kevin, he's not wearing his Met shirt considering that um they're playing a real baseball team this weekend, and he didn't want to like repeat the the embarrass himself.
SPEAKER_02The three-game winning streak's gonna turn into six.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's a winning streak.
SPEAKER_00Three-game winning streak.
SPEAKER_01You can't argue with a winning streak.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely. That's what every little brother says until they have to play their bigger brother when it comes to the Yankees here.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we'll see what happens. Tyler, are you a Yankee fan or a to be honest?
SPEAKER_03I don't really follow baseball. If I had to choose, I would say the Mets. Um I didn't know they're on a top. I've been looking at that. And I guess a three-game winning streak is like winning uh the World Series at this rate. So thanks, Tyler.
SPEAKER_02Wow, that was back kidding.
SPEAKER_00So what's Kevin? What's your what's your prediction about uh your uh your Mets have splitting this uh this series here with the Yankees?
SPEAKER_01Um you know it's called survival, you know, at this point. I just want to have a team on Monday, still the root for. Um not no humiliation, you know. I I still think back like all the Mets and Yankees and they played in the World Series when I was in college, and it was I still think about Luis Castillo dropping that pop-up, and just like it couldn't have been against any other team in any other moment, in any other stadium. It had to be against the Yankees, and it's like it haunts my life. That that play. Coach Ward knows exactly the play I'm talking about. I absolutely pop-up drops and then and then Kevin.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah, the base running snafu, the awful base running in game one that killed us. And it could be a big round. It was awful.
SPEAKER_00So uh my dad, rest in peace. He he's a big Yankee fan. He played minor league baseball for the Army. Uh he never uh never was at a World Series game. So uh when the Mets played the Yankees, we uh we sent him my mom to a World Series game. It was at that game that you're talking about. And this is a Subway Series uh train set, Yankees and Mets, and um it was amazing uh that he was there, he got to see it. And yes, you know, unfortunate for your Met fans, I mean it was unrealistic for you guys to think that you're actually gonna win a subway series.
SPEAKER_02So in that series, we would have done.
SPEAKER_00I don't even want to go, dude. Except for the fact that mentally Met fans are not uh prepared to handle the fact that they're a minor league team in New York. But we will not spend more time talking about that. Although, interesting facts, I was looking up uh sweet prices for the Mets because my brother was like, ah, listen, man, let's let's get a whole group together of people he went to high school with. Uh the majority of those people he went to high school with are all Met fans. He's like, all right, listen, the Mets Mets are horrible. The suite shouldn't be that expensive for how many people you could fit. And uh most interesting, the highest sweet prices for the next like, I don't know, 15 games is this weekend. Average sweet price around $12,000. But for the Yankees sweet prices, it's $24,000. Unreal. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Well, I mean, the rest of the season, you could probably get sweep prices for the Mets for the price of going to the county center to watch basketball. Um you probably could, you know, parking and you know stop states.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, unfortunately. Um it's a three-game series, not a four-game series this weekend. So if we could get what two out of three would be fantastic for us. Be winners of five or six, and we're rolling. We're back on we're back on the train again.
SPEAKER_00Five out of six. We're back on the wagon. Coach, you're absolutely out of your mind. So on that note, let's actually start our show. Welcome back to the winning moments. We're gonna take a quick 10-second uh minute here to ask you guys to like and subscribe. The more followers that we can get, the more exposure we can give these kids. Is what we want to do. Let's keep growing the Instagram accounts as well as YouTube. We need our subscribers to subscribe on YouTube when you guys are watching this video. We love how many views and how many fans we have. Uh, it's been great. Today we have a special guest, us with us here in studio, while we have our uh famous and hardest work, hardest working man in section one, Kevin Devaney, uh, out of studio today because he has to uh do some work on the uh golf course. He'll be working very hard uh after the show in his uh his golf play. But uh let's let's start off here with our special guest, this young man who, if you watch the show and you are a lacrosse fan, he doesn't really need a big big introduction considering he is currently the section one leader all time for points. Uh Tyler Terracine.
SPEAKER_03Thank you. Thank you for having me on the show.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, man. Thanks uh thanks for coming up.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, of course.
SPEAKER_02So happy to have you here, T. Thank you, coach. Congratulations on breaking that record, too. We're gonna talk, we're gonna delve into a lot of stuff. Kevin Devaney, John, and I we're gonna excited to hear about you know your process and where you're good, where you're going as we go on.
SPEAKER_03And now I could hear Kevin. I just couldn't hear him before this. All right, outstanding. There you go.
SPEAKER_01I didn't really, it was nothing. You were you missed nothing, Tyler. It was just it was me lamenting about how much I you know the life of a Mets fan. But uh it's great to have you in the studio, man. It's um I I willingly give up my chair for you today. Thank you. Um and uh parled into some golf. So yes, uh, but uh welcome on the show and congratulations. That uh that number was huge, over 400 points. I mean, just to get there. Um, did you ever think? I mean, you do you remember your first goal? Do you ever do you remember the first time you scored a goal?
SPEAKER_03Yes, I actually do. Funny you say that. Only because um it was my first game, eighth grade year. Um basically like a week before or two weeks before my first ever practice. Um my coach actually said, Here's three balls, shoot on the net, let's see how you shoot. And I actually shot them pretty well. He's like, Alright, you're on the team. So and then two weeks later, we had our first we had our first game. Um, I didn't score a goal. I had a few shots, I had a few opportunities, and I was pretty upset. And I went home and I was like, I said to my older brother, I'm like, damn, like you just got like six goals. It looked so easy for you. I got none. He's like, Don't worry, it'll fall. And then right before halftime, I think, in my eighth grade year, I got my first goal. I remember that.
SPEAKER_01And uh you said to yourself, probably, I'm gonna go break the section one all-time scoring record now. I'm I'm I'm on my way. Yeah, exactly. But it's remarkable. Uh the journey from then to now has got to be pretty pretty insane when you look back and think to yourself about uh making the team the way you did. That's that's pretty amazing.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it is pretty insane looking back five years ago.
SPEAKER_00So, Tyler, during that time period, what what is one of your favorite moments over those five years that you could remember?
SPEAKER_03Um, probably last year we won um, I think it was the quarterfinals off of a last second goal. That was one of the one of my favorite memories. Uh, then our coach ran to the sideline dancing, and it was it was a great time. Uh that's one of my favorite ones. Um this year that we played Nanuet, um scored I scored like a goal with like five seconds left. That was definitely a highlight as well. Um, those last second finishes are always amazing. So that's what I take away.
SPEAKER_00You think your coach dances better than Coach Ward over here?
SPEAKER_03Probably not. Probably not. Wow, thank you, Tyler. I mean, hearing your singing uh skills, probably not. Okay.
SPEAKER_00Appreciate that, Tyler. Thank you. The karaoke master of section one, Coach Ward.
SPEAKER_02So uh Tyler, my my question for you is this um at what age did you start or decided to make lacrosse like year-round, like do travel and and all that? When did that happen for you?
SPEAKER_03Um, I'm actually glad you asked that. Um, it was definitely an interesting process. Um there was definitely a moment in my life when I was in middle school where I was like, all right, I'm gonna try to go division one, I'm gonna grind, I'm gonna grind all across, all across. Um, but then actually around eighth or ninth grade, I quit travel. Um I kind of wanted to shift towards basketball. And that was when I looked for AAU routes in early high school. Um worked around with that. Um, I guess I didn't find like as many interests as I thought. Like I didn't, I didn't I was like, all right, it's probably gonna be hard to go to like a school I want to go to for basketball. Uh that's like very, very hard. So um I actually started to shift towards back to lacrosse towards early junior year. And I was like, I was kind of late to like joining back on like a high club team or something. Um so I try to I went around with showcases and usually when you're on a high club team or go to like a small private school, that's where like the division one lacrosse players come from. Right. Not from Blindbrook High School where there's 90 kids per grade, 90 to 100. Um, usually a coach looks at you and says, What the hell is Blind Brook High School? And um and then kind of get you look away and they look away and they're like, I want someone from private school or high public school that's like known. Um so I went to one showcase actually um early junior year. Um there was one coach, um, actually the coach from Williams, this is when I met him, Coach McCormick. Um, and he's like, he respected my size, he respected my skill rather than where I went to school. And this kind of flipped my mind back to all right, I'm just gonna pursue this. I want to pursue this, I want it's a great great school, great opportunity. Hopefully he stays um interested in me. So that whole literally the whole junior year, I just cut up clips from games, joined back on a club team. And yeah, he stayed interested in me.
SPEAKER_02And which and and we'd be remiss not to bring up your club team. Which club team did you play with?
SPEAKER_03Um this summer I played with 91 Tri-State. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Let's talk about that really quick, though, the recruiting process, because I find that I find that interesting. And I think a lot of people watching our show, uh young athletes, need to recognize that to your point, you're the all-time section leader in points. Okay, so you're you're at the top level of where you're at, but because of the school that you go to, uh, like you said, there's there's really no interest, right? So you're doing the showcases, you're trying to find places to get interest, and then when you get the interest, you just said you started cutting up your clips after you had interest. Are you cutting up the clips and you're sending them to coaches, or you're just cutting up the clips and putting them on your social media?
SPEAKER_03What are you doing with that? Sending them directly sending them. I I I I like to directly send usually so nowadays, Huddle kind of cuts up clips for you, and it's like you get a notification like two hours after the game, here are your four goals from this game, and it literally just cuts up a little video of all of your goals right for you. It makes it so easy. And once in a while I would send um I would send this video to the that coach. I'd be like, Hey coach, hope all's well. Just wanted to like show you a few clips from my recent game. Um and then that. Like, I feel like that's what made what could make a coach interested. So that's why I kept doing. Where'd you send it to him? Text. Okay. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Tell you you made it, you made a uh comment that I that kind of jumps out at me a little bit in that you said the colleges that I wanted to go to, right? So you felt a lot of like basketball play players will say, I want to go division one. Whatever college that is, it's sort of a little secondary, but it seemed like you had a level of, I assume it's academic-driven um school that you wanted to go to. Did that narrow the focus? And and and sort of what did you have in mind in terms of what colleges you wanted to go to and sort of work the recruiting process that way instead of saying, give me the highest, biggest profile school.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Like um, as you said, um, I was probably looking towards academic driven. Um, that's where exact that's exactly where I was looking. And I was thinking to myself, I'm six foot three, that's point guard size. In high school, I play the big, I don't really have the best ball skills. I'm in, and then I was just like, I don't think this is gonna work out for me when I started to play AAU basketball. So, and I knew that on the lacrosse field, I've been lighting it up, and I feel like that's kind of what's what drew drove me back to getting involved with the recruiting process for lacrosse by junior year.
SPEAKER_01Whenever there's multi-sport athletes, and I've talked to the uh especially the guys from Rye about this, like they have their they play multiple sports, but they have their sport that's their college sport. And I've always wondered, so did basketball ever and obviously has to take a little bit of a back seat, but did you ever have to kind of push yourself to remind yourself, like, hey, I I'm still gonna play basketball, like I'm still in this, um, still putting the time in. And how do you how do you balance the time when one's your college-bound sport and one isn't?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Um, that's a great question. Um, basically, just practice. I mean, going to a local gym with um fellow captain Sebastian, just shooting hoops. Uh, some of my other friends have played basketball in the past, just getting like runs in with basketball while also continuing with my club or showcases my junior year. Um you just gotta find the time. I feel like just putting in the work. Like I couldn't slack off in basketball even though lacrosse is my main sport. I couldn't just put the basketball down and just only play lacrosse or else what a senior year I'm not gonna play, I'm not gonna play well in basketball. And basketball is very important to me. Like, I would not give up basketball even though lacrosse is my college sport for next year. So honestly, just focusing on basketball, going to open gyms, practicing, playing with my friends, that's what kind of drove me to playing both sports.
SPEAKER_02And and and Typho go ahead, Kev.
SPEAKER_01No, my other my other question was gonna be about we had Anthony Ficarata in, yeah, and it's very similar. Small school, um huge numbers. Um still a little bit of fighting for respect. Anthony felt into his senior yeah, he was still fighting for a little bit of respect on the record, and some people dismissed it because oh, he plays for Dobbs Ferry. Do you sort of feel like a connection with Anthony in that way? You guys both broke the all-time scoring record at small schools this school year. I mean, do you feel like you have a connection with him in that way?
SPEAKER_03I actually played AAU with Anthony in ninth grade, and um, yeah, feeling that like respect, like I feel like there was a comment on one of the interviews, like, yeah, he broke the record, but look at the strength of schedule. Um, I feel like that, like, right when I got it, and like that being said right in front of me, like that just like sums up the story of like going to a small school. So yeah, just connecting on that level. We both go to the small school, we got we got to the level we wanted to be at, and it just it not only just excites me, excites Anthony. Hopefully, it puts a basketball in a third grader's hands at Dobbs Ferry or a lacrosse stick in a third grader's hands at Blindbrook.
SPEAKER_02We talked about we Tyler, we said that about you when you broke the record, didn't we, Kevin? We said we mentioned that.
SPEAKER_01We did, we and and I said the record will live on, but like sort of like the impact is greater, right? I mean the impact um that you and you guys have is huge. Um, does it does it bother you when someone like because dude, I I go and John and and Chris the same way. There's like never never anything negative, like we'll never take a negative approach on anything um related to what we're doing here uh with sports. Um, but other people don't subscribe to that. And when you break a record and on Instagram someone writes like, well, who do they play? Like that sort of stuff. I see it too. Um, does that bother you? Dude, how do you dismiss that? How do you keep your your parents from responding and or driving to the guy's house like I would?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I had to I had to make sure my mom didn't do that. But um just using it as fuel, honestly, in the in the reverse impact. Um, that's exactly what it is. Like I'm just thinking, all right, he said that, but I'm just gonna keep grinding. I mean, that it doesn't really phase me that much. I'm used to it. I'm used to feeling the shame of going to a pro small school, especially on that collegian level, um, getting recruited. But um, yeah, I mean that's it.
SPEAKER_02I and I want to I just want to say this to you, Ty. You know, I'm gonna say the same thing that I said with regard to Anthony. My thing for small school kids, and my son went to small school as well. You're everywhere good. You know, you're you're you're I've seen you on lacrosse field, I've seen your skill set, I've seen your stick skills, I've seen your ability to score. You're everywhere good. You you could go you you could go any place and and play and be and be a really good player at any program in our area, period. Anthony would be the same way. And I think that speaks to you. And quite frankly, I have to be honest with you, because I started watching lacrosse recently a lot more the last two last three years. They don't know this. Kevin, little known fact, Kevin, John, and Claudio, Coach Ward does watch NCAA lacrosse, and I'm astounded at how your size and your quickness and your abilities may, where you went to a small school, I'm still shocked that no Division I showed any interest and Williams got themselves a steal.
SPEAKER_00I got a lot of people.
SPEAKER_02In lacrosse. Yeah. It's um I I know this already. Hold on. It's the it's the quarter, it's the quarterfinals for the Elite Eight. Um the two um Oh my god. We got them, we got them, Kevin. We got 'em. Virginia got upset at home. They were supposed to host it. And I forgot I forget the team, but I watched I watched all I watched all four quarterfinal games. I can't remember offhand. You have to pull them up for me.
SPEAKER_01But I but Duke plays Georgetown. Who? Duke plays Georgetown. Duke upset down. Duke plays Georgetown. Duke upset Richmond. And you know how they upset them? Faceoffs. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Faceoffs control won every face-off and controlled everything. That's the sport. They beat Richmond at Richmond, and Duke won. And then who else, Kev?
SPEAKER_01Um bringing them up. I'm uh I'll look it up again.
SPEAKER_02But but yeah, but Ty, I'm shocked. I'm really I'm really surprised after what I saw this weekend in the quarterfinals. I'm like, you know, but Williams, Williams is very lucky. It's a great fit for you academically. Coach McCormick's gonna really plug you in. I you have a shot to play right away, day one. And I think that's fantastic for you. What what is it speaking of him? What is the staff's vision for you when you go to Williams next year? Where do they have you playing?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Um one midfield, just to start off offensively, hopefully. Um they just liked my quickness, as you said, my size, um stick skills and your ability to score. Yeah, and also um connecting to as you said about like basketball and lacrosse and like my skill set. I feel like they're very similar, which is also why I also sent some clips of me playing basketball, like driving to the hoop, pick game, like very similar in many ways, like you would know. Um now that you're watching lacrosse as well. Yeah, absolutely. Um yeah, so I would say he envisions me just being like my quick like my quick size, my vision, like just dodging through short sticks pulls on other teams, getting to the hoop, getting to the the I mean I mean short stick defenseman on you is not gonna be a good day for him.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's gonna be a bad day for him.
SPEAKER_01Princeton, obviously number one seed, takes on Penn State, Notre Dame Johns Hopkins. Princeton, Penn State, Notre Dame, Johns Hopkins, uh Syracuse UNC, and Georgetown, yes. So that was the matchup this weekend.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah. That's uh well listen, we'll figure out how we're gonna get to uh to those games. But yeah, Tyler, we talked about how you cut through the defense like like butter. And for a guy your size, watching you do that, you know, because I get to go to some I get to go to your games because my son, you know, you know, Nathaniel plays for you. Um and it's just amazing how you just literally you're just slicing through these individuals with that that type of footwork uh and your moves. What what was your favorite uh goal or point? So it could be a distance to throughout your your milestone top one, what was your favorite point that you could remember?
SPEAKER_03That's a good question. Um I mean, maybe as I mentioned earlier, the the one of the last second goals in our game, like literally. Last week. It's fresh out of my mind. I'm trying to think if there's any other that that probably takes the cake, honestly. I don't think I had like one of those. I know like yeah, I've had a lot of points, a lot of goals, a lot of assists, but I think that was like one of the few ones I've had like in the last 10 seconds. We've had a lot of games where we lost in overtime or lost in like the final seconds, which kills me. So being on the winning side of that, that probably takes the cake.
SPEAKER_00Alright, well listen, before we move on, uh one last question for you. And we're gonna have you on throughout the entire show. Uh so we film on Fridays, and this will go live on Sunday. Today you have a big game. Yeah, right? It's your your senior year, it's your second to last game. But today's game is to win the league championship.
SPEAKER_03What does that mean to you? To be honest, it means honestly, this is probably one of the most the most important game in my career. Um, and also it's very important for our program. Uh we barely have a modified team, which is composed of mainly seventh graders. I don't think there's a single eighth grader on the team and getting a league win, uh league championship puts a banner on our uh on our gym. And for an eighth grader becoming a ninth grader walking into the high school, seeing more banners. We've had one when my brother Ethan was a senior and I was a freshman. We won the we we tied for the win of the league, but that's up there. So seeing multiple banners in the last three, four years, hopefully we'll put a stick in someone's hands. And I feel like to to grow your program, wins wins, wins are a big deal. So today's win means a lot, and hopefully, hopefully we come out on the winning side.
SPEAKER_01Athletes want to play in big games, right? I mean, you played in so many big games in basketball, uh big Friday night, county center, champion. Like you want to play in big games in your sport, and now you get your chance to do that. So that's that's great, man.
SPEAKER_02That's awesome. And I think the impact that you have had on on Rybrook and Blybrook and the community and Ethan, his impact as well, and that bridge together, you know, you you go from Ethan, now you bridge to now, and then what you've done. I think you know, I get goosebumps to to to understand it. I think it's really important, and you understand, and you're incredibly insightful at your age to understand the magnitude of what you want to do to build lacrosse in your community. I think for you to have that vision and be so mature about it, it's it's a special gift that you have to understand how impactful you know today's game is. It's very impactful for the community. You put another banner in the in the gym, uh, and and those kids see that it's a tangible thing that they can that they can um aspire to.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yep, exactly. I mean, my older brother Ethan did a great job at it. He gave lacrosse lessons to freshmen that are now on the team. I get comments like, yeah, I play because of your older brother. Like I feel like his impact makes me want to have an impact even greater, honestly.
SPEAKER_02And that's and I think you're gonna have a tremendous impact going forward. And I think you will see it at fourth, fifth, and sixth grade. You watch and see, I'm sure it's already happening. Am I right or am I wrong that you're starting to get a little bit more interest in it in the community at a lower level?
SPEAKER_03I mean, there was there was more people that are putting sticks in their hands, like little brothers of freshmen, or I hear it like there was a player on my team, his younger brother quit baseball to play lacrosse. Wow, like just recently. So just hearing those things makes me very happy, very excited for the future.
SPEAKER_02That's fantastic, Tyler.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, man, you're one of the reasons that uh that Nathaniel put a stick in his hand. Yeah. And he didn't uh he didn't start lacrosse till last year. First time he picked it up. Now he's a beast. He uh he does love it, man. He he loves it, he looks forward to playing tonight, even though uh he's basically broken at the current moment. But uh we wish you we wish you the best of luck tonight. Hopefully, uh when you watch this on Sunday, uh Tyler is a league champion and you'll be posted everywhere. Hopefully your impact on the sport's been amazing, your impact in Blandbrook's been amazing, man. And uh from my my standpoint as a dad and having uh uh son who now plays across, I thank you for all of that. And I think your legacy is is pretty powerful, Tyler. Thank you.
SPEAKER_03I appreciate it. Absolutely absolutely guys.
SPEAKER_00All right, now moving on to baseball. Okay, we're gonna run through baseball pretty quick because we have uh we have the playoffs coming up. But a quick question, Kevin, for you and uh Coach Ward here, as well as Tyler, we'll get to Kevin. You go first. How do you feel about double elimination in baseball?
SPEAKER_01I think that might be the best thing Section One has done. And they only do it for baseball, and it's kind of the sport that that it should happen with. I I somebody said that, oh, they should think about doing this in basketball and having a double elimination. I'm not a fan. I love, I think the winner go home at all levels is you know, the no best of threes, just do one game elimination game. I think it kind of adds so much to the drama. Um, I think about it as like, you know, Dobbs had beaten Woodlands in the section championship, having to beat them again, like that would have been tough. But um, so to me, I think the baseball format, it's the best, it the best team wins. And uh we're gonna see some teams going through it and when I give you my predictions, you're gonna see that like navigating this playoffs and the double elimination changes almost how you have to approach the postseason. And um and only double elimination only starts in the semifinals on. So you can lose in the first round, but once you get to semifinals, it goes double elimination then for those four teams, and uh best team wins every time.
SPEAKER_02I I I'm I'm I'm with Kev, I'm locked up with Kevin. I mean, in in you know, in my state, in my home state, South Carolina, it's been double uh at Somerville, it was double elimination. Dang it. It was double state South Carolina, it's always been double elimination in the state playoffs. Only in baseball, in no other sport. Softball, excuse me, so for softball as well, for baseball and softball, everything else was single elimination. I don't I don't adhere to double elimination in any other sport but softball and baseball.
SPEAKER_00Now it doesn't go does it go double I don't think it goes does it go double elimination when it comes to the section one.
SPEAKER_01No, not in softball. No, no, no, no. Only section one, only section one.
SPEAKER_00Right. So for baseball, all right, coach is talking about baseball, not softball, baseball.
SPEAKER_02All right, I didn't know if it was softball too.
SPEAKER_00When you get if it's if it's if you are undefeated in the actual championship game and you win that game, you don't have to sorry, you lose that game. Do you play again? Or is when you get to the championship championship is it?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So let's say RC catch them last year, or they've done the last few years, um, they've gotten through the semifinals, they go to the winner's bracket final, they win that. Then whoever emerges out of the losers bracket's got to beat them twice. They only have to win once. Absolutely. So um last year, I think I'm pretty, I don't remember. Maybe only only Rye had to come back this second day and they won. Um, coming out of the loser's bracket. But um, if Ketchum goes undefeated to the playoffs and they win, then that's it. They win on the 31st. Oh, they win the 30th, they don't have to play in the 31st. Is basically how it would go. Or how I that's also how I envision it going. So we'll see.
SPEAKER_00Well, I guess Matt, hopefully it goes that way because uh we at the winning moments and myself, Kevin, and coach, we will be on location. Uh baseball is one of the sports. We'll be on location filming live uh from there. And uh yeah, we have a lot of if-bets, okay, with our crew because uh if it does go the next day, we got to show up there and at softball at the same time. Make sure that we get the coverage for the boys and the girls. And uh, you know, listen, even though we are very good at having Kevin remote or or or me remote, it's very difficult to be in two places at one time. Uh somehow Kevin DeVinny makes it work always. This guy's like, he's like everywhere. It's like where's Waldo? It's like where's KDJ? You can find him someplace.
SPEAKER_02He's someplace working. Always, always working.
SPEAKER_00Tyler, did you uh did you play baseball as a kid?
SPEAKER_03I did. Um honestly, it was a great time. I did get intentionally walked by dads when I was five years old sometimes. Uh that's that's what I take away.
SPEAKER_02My friends in coach's pitch, you got intentionally walked sometimes.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god, and coach's pitch. That might be the the greatest thing I've ever heard.
SPEAKER_03That's really that's what I take away from those days. Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_00Coach, oh man, intentionally walk by a dad. That's actually that's actually. Yeah, yeah, that that stuff actually, I guess that happens in Blandbrook. Uh in the Bronx, in the Bronx, that would never happen or anywhere else. So let's uh let's let's stay with baseball here. Kevin did uh he did honor us with his uh picks as he always does. And uh this way we'll get to see if he's right or the kids showcase that. So, Kevin, you got class triple A. Let's start there. Who's your favorite?
SPEAKER_01Ketchum's a favorite. Favorite catch him, no doubt about it. I know I had memoric in the preseason. I can go back on my word. They're 17 and 3, three-time defending champions. They're lost this past week to Polly Prep, they're their national team, and they lost by a run. So, like, catch them is is so loaded with talent. Um, they have the ace in Shane Finnegan, eight strikeouts and one hitter complete game against Foss Lane last week. He's headed to Manhattanville. This team has so many college-bound players on it. I think they have eight college-bound seniors. Tyler Durkin going to St. Peters, Nick Montesinal going to Mammoth. Um, Shane Riley's a star. He's been on our honor roll. He's only a sophomore. Ensley Perez is gonna play catcher at Cortland. This team is so loaded and right now, so confident. And I think in this format, double elimination, you might be able to beat catch him once. I don't know if anyone can beat him twice.
SPEAKER_00If there was anyone, if there was anyone in this in this bracket that has a chance, who do you think it is?
SPEAKER_01You know, I you know, I know again, I picked Mamaric in the preseason. Um, I just don't know if they have enough pitching to win. I'm gonna say John Jay East Fishko is the biggest threat because of the rivalry factor and all this. Um, we talked about Anthony Backay throughout the season. He's still over 500 um uh on base percentage for the season, 25 runs scored. Lucas Perillo, he's been great. He's kind of given them that that extra bat, 25 RBIs in the season lead the team. Um, and they they struggled down the stretch. Uh they beat North Rock in the finale, and uh that might have been the springboard for them going to the postseason. And I would say, listen, catch them, the last team you want to face in a championship is your rival. And John Jay's Fishgill, the number two seed, they might be there, and that's a dangerous thing for catch them.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well listen, catch them is shown all year long that that there's a reason why the Berlin Champs and really catch them. Ketchum's become, you know, we talk about football towns like Westlake or Pleasantville, catch them has become a baseball town or is a baseball town, and I think they've they solidify that. With the win with the win this season, I think there's no question they are the baseball town in uh in section one. New York State.
SPEAKER_02I mean I was in New York State, yeah. Yeah, they're they're fantastic. My my my concern is is weather. Okay, and and and if if the kid out of Scarsdale, yeah, you know, if it's a weather thing and there's a delay like because of weather for a day or two, and now Scarsdale, what's the kid, the lefty that we like?
SPEAKER_01Gil Gil Krause, Gil Krauss. So Scarsdale's my Cinderella for this exact reason, coach, and is that if things go, it's supposed to be beautiful weather next week. If if Scarsdale could stay, they're gonna beat Porchester in the first round. Um, if they could stay on schedule and just have Gil Kraus um and Kajira Jarada, their two pitchers, kind of stay on regular rest and and and throw well. I mean, they've been great all season. Both of them have actually both pitched exactly 45.1 innings on the third innings. Um Jirada has 61 strikeouts to 65 strikeouts for Krause. So they they're like neck and neck um in what they've done this season. And they're a one-two punch as pitchers in this format that can make them a serious title contender. And listen, that you know, Scarsville didn't play the schedule that Ketchum and John Jay's Fishkill and I went to the northern Westchester northern uh section one teams faced. But um, you know, Scars' a confident team, and I think the pitching alone is going to give them a chance um to maybe be the Cinderella team as well.
SPEAKER_02Like if I'm in if I'm in Scarsdale's bracket, John Tyler, if I'm in Scarsdale's bracket, I'm concerned about seeing one of those two guys and then having to deal with them.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Well, that's a nice one because of their pitching. I think they have a shot. They have a pitcher's, they have a staff, a pitching staff chance to possibly uh upset the Apple cart.
SPEAKER_00But that's why uh that's why we play the game. So uh we're a little caught on time here, so let's run through these. Uh class double A, Kevin.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, well, so my prediction is I said, I think Ketchum beats, I think the final four is gonna be Ketchum, Arlington, Mamarinick, and Scarsdale, the rivalry on that side. I think Mamarinick beats Scarsdale to go to the winner's record final. Ketchum beats them, Ketchum beats Arlington. Um, and uh, Ketchum beats Arlington in the championship. I think the pitching for Arlington is gonna let them go survive the loser's bracket and be the team that faces. Uh, double A, Maypack, the offense is just too good. Drew Lichtenberger, 10 home runs this season, 37 RBIs. He's batting 500. It doesn't get better than that. Nick Mascherelli, uh, Ryan Cabelkis, Snake Maskell, Vin Cataldo. This lineup is deep. Mascarelli has been exceptional pitching, 86 strikeouts and 46 innings. They're the favorite as the number two seed, even over Rye as the number one seed. I think the biggest threat is Yorktown and what they've done at the end of the season. They've turned things around. They were one and six, they finished 13 and 7. That's a dramatic turnaround in baseball, especially at the end of the season with your squad. So many games in such a short amount of time. Um they swept Greeley, who's, you know, was kind of like the number two team, number three team. Uh, Yorktown has kind of jumped ahead of them. Uh, and you know, Alex Workstein is an age, remember, top of the lineup. He's about a 500 on base percentage, 24 runs this season, only struck out one time. He's a great table setter. And the question for Yorktown is going to be the pitching. Do they have the pitching depth? You know, Liam O'Connor is going to give him a chance uh when he takes the mound every time. And uh they're kind of there. And I think when you look at, you know, Mayapack, Yorktown, Mayhem, uh, and Rye, I would be surprised if any one of those three teams didn't win um double A. I think that the depth of their of their processor is good. But again, Fox Lane's defending section champions, went to the state final. It was a wasn't basically a runaway from winning a state championship. They have some players back. Uh Jackson Carls, their standout pitcher, pitched great in the postseason last year. Expect them to do it again this year. And uh they got to get through suffering first on Saturday.
SPEAKER_00So your prediction, your your final prediction for the Class A champion is Clarkstown North.
SPEAKER_01Team I didn't mention. And I said that and I laughed because it was a big setup here. Uh pitching is everything in the playoffs. So I you know, I would be shocked if uh if if Rye Mayapak in Yorktown didn't win. I plan to be shocked. I think Clarkstown North has everything going in the right direction. They're 10-9-1, ugly record, um, barely above 500. They got there in the final week. Jack Kavanaugh, we're gonna talk about him later, tearing up at the plate. He has played so well. Remember, Captain Jack got hit his stride as a basketball player in the second half of the season. Um the pitching stat they have with JD Santulli, who has a 1.36 ERA and 49 strikeouts and 46 innings, he's the number two. Quinn Miller going to Army, a 0.20 ERA, 74 strikeouts and 35 innings. Basically, two in it, two in an inning. Um, and uh what he's done this season, he has a chance to be drafted. He has a chance to pitch professionally one day. Quinn Miller, JD Centulli, I think they lead Clarkson North. They are my Cinderella, my super Cinderella team to win um the double-A championship.
SPEAKER_00Coach, does he strike you out in three pitches or is he doing it?
SPEAKER_02Not in base, but softball would get struck out, and he ain't striking me out in baseball. None of them are none of them are none of them are, none of them are. None of them striking me out in baseball.
SPEAKER_00Softball, yes. Softball is over. Softball's over for you, coach. I love it. I love it. All right, moving right along, Kevin. Let's go to class A. Who's your favorite?
SPEAKER_01Well, TZ is clearly the favorite. They're 19-1. Uh, they escaped being undefeated. You don't want to be undefeated. Uh, we've talked about this all season. We did. In baseball, it is a it is a burden to carry that zero in the loss column. So they lost to Albertus Magnus. Best thing that could have happened to them. They've only allowed 24 runs in 20 games this season, which is just unbelievable. Obviously, great pitching. Caleb Herzell um is a big reason why. Stony Brook commit. Uh, no earn runs allowed in 46 innings this season. That's amazing. 6-1 record, took the loss to Albertus. Um, he's been Section 1's best pitcher. Uh, you know, there's a lot of debate about him, Quinn Miller. Um, I think Herzell has got to give him the nod as the number one guy. Dylan Kim, he's 5-0, 1.260 array. Thomas Campanello, 5-0 in the season as well. So the pitching, rich Tappan Z team is the clear head and shoulder favorites going to the playoffs. And I, you know, we were doing the biggest threat. Who's the biggest threat? I think the biggest threat is whoever wins on Saturday between John J. Cross River and Pearl River in the 8-9 game because they get to go in and face Tappen Z and only have to beat them once. And if they do that, it blows up the entire tournament. Absolutely. And uh, this is dangerous. Tappen Z got tripped up last year. So um they go to the quarterfinal against Tappen Z and they have a chance. Pearl River, less than you want to face is your rival in baseball in the postseason. Pearl River lost to Tappen Z 4-1 and 2-1 in the regular season. That's that's a couple, that's a swing of the bat, basically the difference in those two games.
SPEAKER_02And you know how baseball is, Kevin, John, Tyler. We know how baseball is one game situation, and now it's the rival coming in and they're playing with house money. They have no pressure on them. Zero. And they've already played them in two tight games. Yeah, it makes it very interesting. Plus, we always be licking their lips, licking their lips to get a chance. You better believe to have a third shot at them.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. Yep. People around TZ talked about state championship in the preseason. Um, and it's so hard to do it in baseball. And uh, right now, you know, Purple has a chance. It could be John Jay. John Jay across River is another team that just swings the bat so well. Jacob Storich, Eli Tubbs at the at the middle of this lineup are just dynamic. John Jay will go in there fearless against this TZ team. So uh they're my biggest threat. Whoever wins the 89 game is the biggest threat to Tappen Z to winning a championship. If they get through that, Tappen Z will win, get to the double nation. No one's gonna beat them twice. Um, Cinderella team is Panis for a good reason. Uh Jake Malfant, he's headed to UConn um as a shortstop. 481 batting average, just so good. Matt Garcia, uh, Tristan Pagliattini, uh, this lineup is very deep, very good. Um, they've lost basically uh to only large school teams. They won five in a row before losing to Mayapack in the finale. So Panis to me is is lurking there uh as a as a threat to TZ.
SPEAKER_02And and a historically, a traditionally very strong program. So they have pedigree. They won a championship. They have pedigree.
SPEAKER_00Yep, absolutely. Well, we're gonna see. That's why we uh play the games.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I I do think um, you know, we didn't talk about Tappen Z. I think I mean talk about Byron Hills. Tappen Z will beat Pleasantville in the semis. I think Byram Hills' number two seed beats Panis. Um and the reason being I think Byram Hills is gonna be able to set up their pitching. So Josh Goldman, who's been who's seven and one of the season, 56 strikeouts, only five walks on the year. He's been he's been very under the radar. Uh Chase Rodriguez, four home runs, 20 RBIs, 20 runs scored. Um Logan Verma, 20 RBIs as well. This Byron Hills team is kind of under the radar in a lot of ways in uh in class A. I think it's gonna be TZ and Byram Hills in the in the winner's bracket final. TZ wins. I think Byron Hills gets back there for the championship. They lose out of the losers bracket, but I think TZ wins again.
SPEAKER_02Just because TZ's pitching depth is is what it is. Too good. If it gets to double elimination, if they're in double elimination, I don't see anybody beating TZ with that pitching depth.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. The only thing, only TZ factor, the only team that can beat TZ is TZ if they gets that if that uh that winner's bracket round.
SPEAKER_00So right, and that's that's one of the things that baseball has. You can definitely beat yourself unlike any other sport. Uh it's very, very mental. Uh so yeah, that that can definitely happen. Uh, and we'll see. We'll see how it goes next week. So class B. Kevin, uh, let's talk about class B.
SPEAKER_01We'll move through this one quick because it's Putt Valley, uh, defending section champions. They're 14 and 6. They've had, you know, they faced a tough schedule, lost a catch-up, lost to some bigger schools as well. They split with Briarcliffe, the number two seed in the regular season, but I still think Putt Valley is the better team. Eli Pierce, it's still such a young team. So if there's any knock on Putt Valley, despite you know, all their championship experience, it's just how young they are as a team. They're very uh underclassman driven, but um Putt Valley is the is the team to beat. Uh the biggest threat I'm gonna say is Hastings actually is the number five seed because of Andrew Zisnewski. Just threw a perfect game uh last week. Saw that um 74 strikeouts and 49 innings. He's been awesome. Theo Sunowick, 24 RBI in the season. Uh, they've been a much better team offensively than they were last year when they reached the section championship. Um they got no hit by Putt Valley in the championship. So I think Hastings is the team that's you know on a bit of a mission, would like to uh knock off Putt Valley and um dethrone the champions. But um that'll there's a long way to go for that. I think Putt Valley has kind of established themselves. The Cinderella team is Pauling. Uh, you know, Pauling has not won a section baseball, a section championship in really many sports, um, boy sports in the time that I've been doing this in 28 years. Um Pauling baseball team has a chance to do that.
SPEAKER_02They got a young man up there that hits the ball pretty well and and has had a really good year. We like him a lot.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and Pauling, you know, they had a great middle stretch of the season. They were on a big long winning streak. The last three games in a row may have refocused them. But uh going into the postseason now, um, you know, in Class B, they're they're right there with uh with them. I think it is Putt Valley beating Hastings in the semifinals. Briarcliffe beats Ryneck. Um, and then I think Putt Valley beats Briarcliff in the winners back at final, and then I think Hastings does find their way back to that championship round. And uh I think they give Putt Valley a a reason to come back on Sunday, including our staff as well. Uh but I think Putt Valley in the end will win uh back to back championships.
SPEAKER_03So, Tyler, how do you feel that uh I was just about to chime in saying uh Blindbrook Cinderella just watch.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_03Do you like the blind?
SPEAKER_01Yes, I kind of glossed over Blindbrook. They've been really good this season as well.
SPEAKER_03Going to the baseball games or I have to practice. Me and my friends, we just go out. It's so fun. And they've had they've had a special year. They've had a best year in forever. They've started off like 0-2, 0-3, or something, and then they just heated up. It was it's fun to watch. It's fun to watch their games.
SPEAKER_02They've had a good year, a great year.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah. Well, according to Kevin and uh and coach, they uh they think their year is over, Tyler. How do you feel about that? It's personal.
SPEAKER_03But if Asher tolls on the mound, you don't want to hit against them.
SPEAKER_02So there you go.
SPEAKER_01They lost four to five then this season, so it's hard to really kind of get behind them because they were they were on a roll. Yeah um, but uh they sort of stumbled down the stretch.
SPEAKER_02And we gotta remember Affie Middlebrook up at Paul and can can change games with his bat and and what he's done up there. Middlebrook's been a good good player for them this year, amongst others.
SPEAKER_00Uh listen, we're gonna we're gonna move on, but a real quick class uh class C with only four teams. Kevin S. Tuckhoe sweeping the series to win that. Um I mean Tucko's a powerhouse in sports throughout the entire yeah.
SPEAKER_01Connor Bryce, so just real quick about Connor Bryce, doing research and getting stats and looking at things. Connor Bryce, he's going to Villanova, um, big time obviously, football player, led into the state final. He has 53 stolen bases this season. Very rarely will I say, I need to see a scorebook. I need to check this out because 53 stolen bases is got to be some sort of like it might have to be like a national record. To have 53 stolen bases in 20 games. So he's walked, he's hit 24 hits, 21 walks. So he's been on base 45 times. So he's stolen at least over one base for every time he's reached base is pretty amazing.
SPEAKER_02And and and he just he just um had what 100 career hits or 100 career stolen bases, both Kevin. Totally. Yep, and yeah, amazing. He's he's some athlete. And you want to talk about a small school kid that would be everywhere good? That's a small school kid that would be everywhere good.
SPEAKER_00Well, let's find out that staff. Listen, uh uh, we'll get our staff to look at it, but for those of you watching and watch this, uh help us. Help us to see if uh Kevin Kevin's right, where it's a it's a state record, national record. I mean, that's a lot of stolen bases. And I think people think that stolen bases are primarily because you're fast. But as a uh person who stole a lot of bases, and I got to learn that from my dad, uh, it's really stealing on the pitcher. Right? There's a lot of technique that it goes to stealing a base, and when you think about my favorite player in baseball, Ricky Henderson, who, I mean, to me was the best base stealer ever. Uh, yes, he was fast and he had a lot of speed, but it's always about stealing off the pitcher, not the catcher, and uh watching the mechanics, learning the mechanics of the pitcher, understanding when it's time to go. Uh it's a lot of skill in stealing base, and absolutely that's an amazing, amazing feature stolen bases. Yeah. Okay, moving on to the fastest growing sport in America, okay, and a sport that will have a lot of controversy, I think, as we uh continue the years before the Olympics is flag football. Right now it's just girls' flag football that we're gonna talk about. Before we jump into girls' flag football and continue this controversy that we have, uh, as Kevin mentioned last time, when does boys flag football actually start? Because my son Sebastian said he would definitely play. Tyler, if there was a boys' flag football team right now, uh would you have played on it?
SPEAKER_03If it was in the spring, it would be very tough, probably not. But if it was a fall sport, then that would definitely be awesome. Oh boy. Yeah. I mean, I love flag football, especially in summer when I went to camp and playing flag football. Every summer, right? It's awesome, yeah.
SPEAKER_02I so I'm gonna say it this way, and Kevin's gonna appreciate this because I've been a high school football fan from a distance and section one forever. I can't wait for somebody to tell Coach DeMaddio at Somers High School that they're gonna have flag football in the fall during tackle football. I can't wait for some ways it won't matter. Talk to Coach Carrink in Summer's. Coach Carr at Rye High School tell him he's going they're gonna have flag football at Rye High School. Can't wait to see that. I'm looking forward to that conversation with those two guys.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, listen, I think the thing is to the point that I don't I don't think it would I don't think it would be in the fall. Spring. It'd be if it's spring, it's yeah, I think it's a spring sport, absolutely. But funny, Tyler, about your flag football. Uh I got to coach flag football, you and Sebastian, and uh me and your dad were the defensive coaches at the time. Uh and watching you and Sebastian play were I mean, listen, watching you guys in the basketball court was great, but you had the same chemistry on the flag football team. Do you remember the night game underneath the lights out there in Austin?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, of course I remember that. Yeah. I loved it. Playing flag football. You wonder where we got the chemistry from.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, throwing throwing uh throwing touchdowns right there to you two guys. Yeah, it would have been amazing to see that.
SPEAKER_02I look forward to uh spring sport, I think it's great for the spring.
SPEAKER_00Listen, I think I think once once it happens in the Olympics, I don't I don't see how they they stop it.
SPEAKER_02We should have it, but in the spring. We're not gonna have it in the fall. Yeah. There's no way there's no way.
SPEAKER_00We'll see. We'll see how that does. We'll see if schools that can barely get a program now for football, we'll see if that changes uh when there's flag football and um that case. But right now, forget the boys, because we have some so many amazing stories to talk about right now in the girls' flag football, which again is the fast-growing sport in America. And as a girl dad, I absolutely love it, and I cannot wait to the championship next weekend, where we will be filming live on location. It's the first uh championship that we'll be covering, Section One's championship weekend for girls' flag football. It is the first time that they'll have coverage at the championship uh for flag football, and we will be there live. Uh and I mean obviously if Kevin's predictions are right, not only will we be there live with an undefeated team, uh, who you all predict is gonna be like Miami and not like New England, who lost to New York, of course. Uh, but it'll be amazing to see all the Westlake moms there who kind of run the uh mom's love football club, if you will. Kevin, talk to us about your uh your picks in this bracket.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, well, we'll start in class A, uh the big ones. So that's where Scarsville's the number one C, but I'm still going to tell you Arlington's the favorite. 14-1-1 in the year. Lost to Yorktown 7-0. Lost, uh, they tied Mamarinick 6'6, two, you know, title contender teams in their own rights as well. But uh they're on a nine-game winning streak in that stretch. They've outscored their opponents 289 to 37. Um, Chase Harris, a quarterback, 2,500 combined yards rushing and passing, 45 total touchdowns. The numbers are all jump off the charts. And I think the difference for Arlington this year compared to the team that made the championship last year, they have just a great depth at wide receiver. Jay True uh Trufono, uh Triunfo, Gianna Martin, Jamie Jamel. They've got talented wide receivers, a talented quarterback. This Arlington team is kind of looks like they're on a bit of a mission right now to run through and deep thrown the defending state champions, who were their biggest threat, obviously. Number one seated Scarsdale. Um they're gonna have to win it with defense. They don't have the high-powered offense they've had quite as much in the years past. Um, they've, you know, won some close games late down the season, so they've showed you just what uh what they can do. Coach Tom Newkirk is just a master at uh at winning these close games, but uh I think Arlington just may overwhelm them with just the offensive depth that they have. Uh and there's a Cinderella team. It's gonna be either the Yonkers or Nourashell. They play on Saturday. I think the winner of that game, you know, they they both played Scarsdale tough. They didn't beat them. Yonkers um played two one-score games with Scarsdale, both losses. Neurochell played two one-score games with Scarsdale, both losses. So uh they're right there with them, and uh they have a chance to dethrone the state champions. Um, easier said than done. But to me, it is uh that's their biggest threat, Scarsdale. Uh maybe getting beat in the semifinals. I think it'll be those teams. Arlington, Scarsdale, Arlington wins.
SPEAKER_02New Rose got a shot because of their defense, Kevin. I'll just put I just want to interject that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Well, according to social media, uh, Kevin Scarsdale came up real strong this week. Didn't agree with you whatsoever. Okay, they're the only one in the brackets that we're gonna go over real quick that they did not agree with you. They believe they're gonna be uh championships, but that's coach, that's why we play the game. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_02Like I said, New Rochelle's defense is outstanding. They got a shot.
SPEAKER_00We'll see. We'll see how it goes. Looking forward to it. So uh class B, Kevin, let's run through that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, same thing. Well, you know, the one thing about Tappen Z, the number one seed, they're the favorite, the defending champions. People overlook how good they are defensively. And when uh when I'm looking at some scores recently, yes, they've put up huge numbers. Eve Gerardi at the quarterback position. They just have talk about depths of offensive skill position, talent. It's it's incredible. And they're 14 and one. Their only loss uh was to Arlington, who's uh, you know, but they've won four games since then. And uh, but to me, their defense has really stood out. And and when I look at, you know, they face Riley New and Fox Lane, and the way they were able to shut her down and shut down his offense, uh, Fox Lane, it kind of just reminded you just how, you know, both sides of the ball, how talented they are for TZ. Uh, their biggest threat, I mean, you could pick any one of five teams here. I'm gonna go with Mayapak because I think to beat Tapman Z, you're gonna have to figure out a way to outscore them. And uh, Maria Garrafalo, a quarterback, she's had it had a huge first-round game, over 200 yards, two touchdowns, and basically limited opportunities because it was a one-sided game. Beef Kelleher had seven receptions, over 100 yards, caught one of those touchdowns. To me, Maya Pack, I think when all said and done, you know, Yorktown, Mayapack, Brewster, they're all really neck and neck. I think Mayapak will be the one that emerges and they're the biggest threat to beat. I think they're the one that has the best chance of beating Tappen Z of the other teams. Whether they get there or not is another story. But um, and then my Cinderella team, it's weird to just call them Cinderella Brewster because they've been one of the best programs in the section in the last few years. Um, but Sofia Rosamillia, we're gonna talk about her a little later in the show. Um, she's been great at quarterback. Uh, they've won seven, they're 7-0-1 in the last eight games, um, losing uh since losing to Neuroschel and Maypack and back-to-back games. So to me, they have a win over May Pack, a win over Yorktown, tied Maypack this past week. The resume is strong. I feel that teams, it's a matter how well you're playing at the right time. Brewster's playing their best. And uh Tom Cunningham, their head coach, has done a great job of keeping this team improving uh week over week. So those are my those are my teams right there. Um didn't mention Yorktown league champions 14-1 season, uh 15-1 season. Uh they're obviously in the mix as well. But I think in the end it'll be TZ and Mayapack at Lakeland High School, and I think TZ wins the championship again.
SPEAKER_02Well, it's sure it'll be fun to watch. Girardi's the difference in in anything that goes on with them. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00We'll see. We'll see how that goes uh when we're at Lakeland High School uh next week, uh covering it live and see how it goes. So uh we got a few more minutes to do, Kevin, before you have to get to the links. Let's uh let's talk about the the number one story right now in gross flight football, this next division, Class C.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and in class C Westlake. Uh, you know, I I I anointed uh Eve Gerardi as the best quarterback in the section. And you know, Juliet De Marino has kind of proven that maybe she's deserving of this as well. She's in the top of the couple of things. 2,000 yards. 2,000 yards rushing, rushing as a quarterback, 1,753 yards passing. On the season, she has 69 total touchdowns, including two pick sixes. She has six interceptions on defense. She's a bolt of lightning uh with the football, 30 flag pulls in the season. And uh, you know, to me, that she is just an exceptional athlete and makes Weslake, I don't want to say unbeatable, but they're really gonna be hard to tie. You're gonna have to score 40 points to beat them because she's gonna find ways into the end zone as she's done all season long. Uh Juliana Nigrelli has 500 yards of offense, eight touchdowns, 56 flag poles, another two-way player, four interceptions, and then Mara Vera Font, who we haven't really talked too much about, 56 receptions on the season. 20 of them have gone for touchdowns, and she's the leader of the team on defense with 65 flags. So she is um this this Westlake team, you know, they don't have the depth that maybe Tabbenzi has, but the star power is there. Um, and uh they don't beat Tabanze, they'll beat the other teams in class C because Tabasy isn't B. But so to me, Westlake is clear front runner. Um, and they've proven why. They beat Han Hod 36 in the final week of the season, final two weeks of the season. Uh, Han Hod is the biggest threat still at uh 10-5-1 because they know how to win. They've won a championship last year. They they know what it takes. And uh defending champions, I feel that you know they beat Putt Valley 21-7 in the finale. Uh, Springboard is the postseason. Uh, they get their rematch on Saturday morning with Barm Hills after we air this show. Um, so to me, uh Byron Hills beat them 38-32 two weeks ago in a in a down to the wire game in the final plays, I think. The final minute of the game. Cinderella team is Byram Hills. Sorry, coach. Amelia Emineto, um, she's the next star. We talked about all these players who are stars in Section 1 flag football. Amelia Emineto, great basketball player, um, maybe division one level basketball player. She is going to be the best player in flag football in a couple seasons, if not maybe next year. So um, she's been great. Dela Gizales quarterback has been great. Um, Emerson Pace as a receiver, um, they're figuring it out uh and getting better as the year goes on. And listen, they lost to Westlake 34-21. They were like a couple plays away, a stop, um, and and turning and converting on fourth down um in that game, lost to Scarsdale 1918. So they continue to get better. Uh, I think when the championship happens, I think I'm gonna grab my words on Sunday morning, but uh, I think it's gonna be Westlake Byron Hills playing for a championship and Westlake wins.
SPEAKER_02So so Byron. So you got Byron beating uh head hot.
SPEAKER_00So uh Kevin Man, you uh we we we appreciate you taking the time. Uh make sure you uh do not disappoint us here on the links, create a lot of winning moments out there. Uh text us later with uh with your score.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, what are you gonna shoot today?
SPEAKER_01Uh man, so I'm in a group. I'm in a I'm in a group a group where it's like a two-man scramble, not a scramble, but you gotta play your own ball. Um I'm gonna have to shoot 75 or better for us to have a chance to win. I'm gonna say I'm gonna shoot 78. That's my number. That's my number. So we're not gonna win, basically, that's what I'm telling you. I say I say you're gonna shoot.
SPEAKER_02I say you're gonna scald the course and shoot 73 today. How about that? No, no, no chance. Thank you.
SPEAKER_01With your dominant 73. I'm not I'm I I've been too busy, man. I haven't been able to play so much. So uh I gotta get back where we're gonna go. Sometimes you play your best part.
SPEAKER_03Congratulations. Thank you. Thank you for having me on the show.
SPEAKER_01Congratulations, Jills. Thanks for coming on the show. I appreciate it. You're the man, and uh, thank you guys. We'll I'll see you. Uh we'll talk. We'll talk about it. Good luck today.
SPEAKER_00You got it, Kevin. Thanks, thank you, Kevin. Bye. Thank you. So uh Kevin's leaving the show here, but we have still a lot of show left to uh to bring to you guys. We got our top 10 coming up next. Uh if you are watching us live on Instagram now, make sure you share that we are live. Make sure you you reach out to your family and friends, uh, ask them to follow us here on Instagram. It is our fastest growing channel, and it is a channel that we get the most interactions with uh these young kids. And again, it's not about us, uh, it's about them. The more exposure, the more followers and views we have, the more exposure we can give the kids. As Tyler mentioned, one of the ways that he uh got recruited is once he actually met a coach, he went out and he uh clipped himself and kept putting it up there on social media as well as emailing it and texting the coach directly. These are the ways these kids are gonna get recruited now. Uh social media is extremely, extremely important. Shows like ours help them coverage. So please like and subscribe, not just on our Instagram channel, but we're on Tic Tac. Uh Tic Tac Tic Tac Tac sorry.
SPEAKER_02Um Tic Tac is that sh is uh you have to add dough after you put if you say tic-tac, you add dough. Tic tac is what we use.
SPEAKER_00Coach, I don't think uh many kids these days know what we're doing. No, a tic-tac-toe. Tic tac toe. I don't think so. But uh yeah, we could uh we could figure that portion out. Uh so yes, please like and subscribe, follow us uh on all our channels, especially YouTube, as we grow that. Now let's uh let's move on to our fastest growing segment and most popular one. And before we do that, I want to give a shout out to our last week's social media performers uh for the winner of the top 10 honor roll is uh Ava Papalillo from Ursuline Softball. Congratulations on the fans voting that you as top of the honor roll uh from our new top 10 honor roll that we have right now. Coach, we gotta get uh uh a drum roll. We need like a nice drum roll clip that we'll get Claudio to put together so we have that. Coach is more talented singer. What do you think, Tyler?
SPEAKER_03More talented singer.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm a bad percussionist. Absolutely, Tyler. It's okay. You got the singer. He's got the singer, right? Can't be talented so much on uh on everything. All right, so here's how we do this. Typically, we go uh back and forth between coach and Kevin. We do not have uh Kevin with us right now, so we'll go back and forth, coach you and I. Let's start you first. We have uh uh and Tyler, you might know this player. We have uh Sydney Satriel from Yorktown High School.
SPEAKER_02Sidney Satrial from Yorktown Girls Lacrosse. She had a massive week this week against elite competition. And when we say elite, the two teams that we're gonna mention that she did so well against are that are in that elite category, and they're they have elite status. She had six goals, three assists, ten complete uh oh, ten draw controls versus Pleasantville. She comes back with eight goals, one assist, four draw controls versus Pelham. On the week combined, 18 points, 14 goals, four assists. Yorktown re-establishes itself as a section one and state title contender with those two massive games that Sydney had and propelling Yorktown back in the conversation of uh of getting back to winning a section championship and possibly winning a state championship. So very happy for Sydney. Congratulations.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean absolutely Unreal.
SPEAKER_0218 points.
SPEAKER_00Tyler, for girls lacrosse, how how difficult is that?
SPEAKER_03I mean, I'm not really a pro at the um at the sport itself. I know it's a very different sport than Boys Lacrosse. It's honestly way so different that it shouldn't even be both be called lacrosse. It's very different. But I mean, the sticks, I mean, it seems really hard to like catch and throw with those sticks. I mean, there's no pocket out there. I genuinely don't know how you'd shoot that.
SPEAKER_02The ball would just fly out, I feel like if I was my daughter played four years at lacrosse, and it is much different than boys lacrosse. Completely different sport.
SPEAKER_00We'll have to get uh get Tyler's stick and see what he can see what he can do with that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I'm sure he would have no issues uh still putting the ball in the back of the net. I was sure of that.
SPEAKER_00So, coach, you're uh you're a big uh you're a big baseball, so we're gonna bring it back to you one more time here. For the Iona Prep Baseball.
SPEAKER_02We've got two I mean two studs here.
SPEAKER_00Julian Guzman and Devin Hood.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we've discussed we've discussed Julian Guzman. We haven't discussed Devin Diaz as much. The Gales have won seven straight airing the postseason. Both of these young men have a chance to be drafted out of high school. They're legitimate Major League Baseball prospects, draft prospects. They both surpassed 100 career hits uh this week. And uh Julian Guzman is Maryland bound at this point. Shortstop, he's an absolute stud, hitting 500 uh during the week, during the winning streak. He's eight hits, nine runs, eight RBIs, 463 on the year. Devin Diaz going to the Hurricanes, the U. And we don't even have to have uh Soldier Boy to crank that up now, and he's going to the U. And uh Miami bound catcher, 474 uh batting average during this winning streak as well, nine hits, ten runs this week, and his average has uh bumped up to 440 overall this season. They are a front runner for the Catholic High School Athletic Association title. I I mean, those two young men are putting up video game numbers, and they both fit the part as far as draft prospects. So amazing uh week for Iona Prep Baseball, amazing week for Julian Guzman and Devin Diaz. Coach, what you know about Soldier Boy? I know you you know you do that. That's is that the you you crank it one way and then you go back the other way. So I know that. Claudio, am I there? I'm almost there.
SPEAKER_00Almost there. Tyler, how how was that soldier boy that coach was there? It was awesome.
SPEAKER_02Blessed my eyes. I love it. Tyler Tercy's got a fantastic sense of humor. A lot of people, you know, they know if you know Tyler from the outside, you know, you know, he's very serious looking. He's uh you know, got a menacing look to him, big kid. But he's got a great sense of humor. Fantastic sense of humor.
SPEAKER_00Oh man. Uh yeah, listen. Next time we'll get uh we'll get Tyler to do the soldier boy uh here on the show. Maybe.
SPEAKER_02Uh this uh maybe we'll see. They win the section he's got. Come on and do the soldier boy. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00There we go. Listen, we'll we'll be at the section championship. We could do it live right there. Absolutely. Uh so we'll talk about this next player here. We got uh Carly Voice, and uh she's Clarkstown South softball player. Uh she continues to be one of the hottest softball teams. This continues to be one of the hottest softball teams here in section one. Yes, it does. She is an actual beast out there. She just reached 100 career RBIs. Uh she had two home runs and three RBIs versus Nyak. Uh a nice home run versus Tuckahoe. She uh two for three with uh a double versus Suffron. Clarkstown South beat Albertus Magnus uh as well. And the Vikings are looking like a real serious championship contender here.
SPEAKER_02I mean, uh she got a home run off Atwood out of out of Tuckahoe. The young lady, uh I mean, you hit a home run off Atwood out of Tuckahoe. You're doing something. And for them to beat Tuckahoe and Suffron as well as Albertus. Albertus has got the pedigree as we talked about, state finalists and the whole thing. They've been good for a long time. I mean, Carly Vells is at As legitimate in softball, if not more, than she is in basketball. And she's a pretty doggone good basketball player as well. Great athlete. Great athlete. One of the best ever coming out of Clarkstown South. So they they're gonna make noise in the section. They will make noise in the section.
SPEAKER_00They are, especially if she keeps hitting the way that she's uh she's hitting.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely.
SPEAKER_00So moving along here, coach, we have uh number four on our list, and it's uh Sophia.
SPEAKER_02Sophia Rosamilia from Brewster Flag Football. Rosamillia has Brewster Red Hot entering the postseason, 7-0-1. John Lim Tyler in the last eight games, two touchdown passes, one rushing TD versus Carmel, four touchdown passes, one rushing TD versus Peak Skill. Overall in a year, 40 passing touchdowns, 2,133 yards passing this season. That's why Kevin Devaney said what he said about Brewster being the Cinderella pick for flag football in the section. Rosamelia is the biggest piece to that Brewster puzzle for them to have the opportunity to go and make and make a play and uh and get a chance to win a section championship.
SPEAKER_00I mean, listen, uh talking about 40 TDs. She's uh the senior captain, she's an honor student, she has uh a commitment to Providence College. Uh she's just, I mean, like you said, she's a four-year varsity basketball uh player and basketball captain. She is it all she does it all. She's she's a good thing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean, she's yeah, she's you know, uh uh and and Coach Matt Cunningham goes one of the best people he's ever had the pleasure to work with. When a coach says that about a player, you understand how special that player is for their program. So, I mean, Sophia's had a remarkable uh uh high school career, both academically and athletically honor student, like we talked about. And then she's going to a really good school. I've been on Providence College, the Providence College campus. It's amazing. It's got such a good the Friar Nation's gonna welcome her with open arms. She'll have a great, great um uh, you know, uh academic experience and social experience at Providence.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely. Uh, Tyler, if there was a a boys flag football team, how many touchdowns are you throwing in a year?
SPEAKER_02Oh, geez. That arm of his, I mean he'd throw 40 to 45.
SPEAKER_03I feel like I would be better at catching, but hopefully, uh how many how many does that person have you? She has 40, 40 feet, 40 passing TDs.
SPEAKER_0243. You do you 40, she has. You do you I'd see you. What do you think? 45, 50. You think I could be in that range? Yeah, you sling it. You sling it. Plus, you have Lynn. If Lynn was catching it for you, Sebastian.
SPEAKER_03I got Sebastian. Yeah, forget about it.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely. It's over.
SPEAKER_03All right. 40. Oh, we'll go with 40 then.
SPEAKER_00That would have been fun. Fun to watch. Uh, the next player here on our list is Captain Jack Kavanaugh. Okay, what a what a one of the best, the best nicknames that uh that we've had. Clarkstown North Baseball. I mean, listen, man, this kid is on fire. His last five games, he's eight for eighteen with a 444 batting average, 13 RBIs, five runs, four extra base hits. I mean, the highlights in these these last few games, he's got uh a home run and four RBIs versus Suffren, four RBIs versus Eastchester. His season batting average, Ted Williams over here, uh approaching that side, 391 batting average for the season. I mean, Captain Jack is just rolling from basketball right into baseball. This kid's a stuff.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna say this now, because he's a three-sport guy, and I can I can uh adhere, I can attest to this. When you come off a basketball season and you go right to baseball, he probably got off to a slow start in the pl at the plate. He's not on a slow start now. I mean, he's got it up to 391, Tyler. You know, you want you you get up in the 400, I'm sure he struggled a little bit early, you know, get his baseball, you know, get his time and get his swing back and get his mechanics back, but he's at 391 and climbing. He ain't gonna be he's not done yet.
SPEAKER_00So, coach, uh, you just said that you can uh you can speak for this.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, because I went from basketball, I went from the state playoff basketball game right into baseball the next day when I when I played down at, you know, we we lost to Eau Claire High School in Columbia, and the next day we had baseball practice and we're getting ready for baseball, and it took it took time because the other guys had already been at baseball for two weeks.
SPEAKER_00Coach, for all the the the fans who don't uh who don't know, what school was that? Uh Somerville High School, Somerville, South Carolina.
SPEAKER_02The green wave. Absolutely. And and Jack Kavanaugh is the reason why, one of the reasons why um Kevin has picked Clarkstown North to win double A in the section in baseball.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely. I don't think anyone uh who watches our show uh since we started knows uh doesn't know where a coach went to uh went to school or his his second favorite area is in America because of course here in section one he he loves us the most. But uh Somerville is always gonna be uh be number two. Absolutely. All right, coach, move right along. We have uh Cora Moore here from Fox Lane Girls Lacrosse. Tell us about her.
SPEAKER_02She's one of the premier all-around midfielders in the state of New York, not just in our area, state of New York. Four goals, one assist, six draw controls versus memorinick, a powerhouse. Two goals, three assists, eight draw controls versus Somers, another powerhouse. Five goals, one assist, six draw controls versus a very solid Lakeland Pantis team. Fox Lane beat Mamarinick, Somers and Lakeland Panis this week. Fox Lane looks like one of the most dangerous postseason teams in their class, and and they got three signature wins, and Cora Moore has got to be up there with anybody in our state in the midfield for doing what she did. And Tyler, we don't have to tell, we we could talk Tyler, tell us how important draw controls and face-offs are.
SPEAKER_03You gotta win the battle between the 30s and uh in order to win the games. I mean, that as you were saying about in the Duke Richmond game, Duke went a lot of the face-offs. They ended up upsetting Richmond. Um, the draw control is literally the most important thing. More possessions, more opportunities to score. That's simple as that.
SPEAKER_02And that's what did Richmond in at home. Absolutely, against Duke, no doubt.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Tyler, how hard is it? When you look at this, where she she is, like on your team, you got you got Nathaniel being your face-off guy. Uh, his responsibility is to win that face-off and then get the ball to to you to take the lead on it. In this case, this young lady, she's taking the draws and she's also scoring with the how difficult is that as a player?
SPEAKER_03No, yeah, that's that's extra that's extremely impressive. I mean, staying on the face-off, I mean, it takes great. I mean, I see Nathaniel, you if he wins or loses a face-off, no matter what, when he's getting off the field, he's exhausted. Um, but yeah, that's extremely impressive. I mean, scoring goals itself, tiring, face-offs itself, tiring, doing both. It's pretty crazy.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, 16 total points against three of the best girls lacrosse programs in our area. It's phenomenal. Phenomenal.
SPEAKER_00Well, that's why she uh that's why that's why she's why she's one of the best in the state, absolutely. Right. So uh moving right along, we're gonna stay with lacrosse here, but we're gonna go over the bridge where Coach uses his plastic thingy to get over the. Which is still hilarious. So uh we're gonna go North Rockland Boys Lacrosse. Uh, we got Noah Hilliard and uh Mason uh Sabinski. These guys are are just a beast. They might be the hottest team right now in uh Section One Lacrosse. We got team wins. Let's start with that, okay, because it is a team game. Uh 11-10 over Suffren, 9-8 in overtime over Scarsdale, 14-9 over Valley Central. Uh during this stretch, Noah has 18 goals to assist. 8 goals to assist. Eight goals, eight goals. Eight goals. 18 goals would be amazing. That would be incredible.
SPEAKER_02Tyler had nine in a game. Uh, I think Noah's got eight.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, when Tyler broke the record, he had he had 13. I mean, if he would have told us he was going to play that good, we would have been there that game. But he uh he didn't mention it that morning. Nor did his parents. Okay. But uh speaking about speaking about Noah here, eight goals, two assists during the stretch. Mason with seven goals, seven assists during the stretch. I mean, these two guys playing together are just they're amazing combined. 15 goals, nine assists. Then you got uh Ryder Kylie. Ryder Kylie reaching his 100 career points. Another milestone. I mean, it's not easy to get these career points, uh, especially watching these games.
SPEAKER_02No, not at all.
SPEAKER_00And a big shout out here as well to Matt Mastellone. That's right, who uh scored the overtime goal winner uh versus Scarsdale.
SPEAKER_02Huge, huge game.
SPEAKER_00Huge game. Huge game. Coach, moving along, let's get to uh staying over there in Rockland where uh you specialize in your driving skills with your easy pass plastic thing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they put it up there and it lets you get in the get into Rockland County, and we love Rockland County.
SPEAKER_00We absolutely do. Let's go with Tara Murphy.
SPEAKER_02Tara Murphy, North Rockland softball, ace pitcher, an offensive leader for one of the hottest softball teams in Section One. Home run versus Pearl River, complete game and complete game win in that game with 10 strikeouts. Three for five, three for three, five RBIs versus Clarkstown North, 13K shutout versus Mamarinick, added a home run, double, and triple during the week. Tara Murphy gives North Rockland a chance, a pitcher's chance, which is huge in softball, to be a section champion. So anytime you've got a stud pitcher in softball like Tara, it gives their team and their and their program a chance to be special. And she's doing that right now.
SPEAKER_00Listen, we're gonna be at that uh that championship. And uh, Coach, maybe maybe after the end of the championship, we'll uh see if one of the girls want to stay by and strike you out. That that would be.
SPEAKER_02I told you in softball, they'll get me out in three to four pitches. But I'm gonna say this to you they ain't doing that in baseball. Well, we'll see. We'll see.
SPEAKER_00We'll be at the baseball championship too, covering that live. Uh we'll see if we can we can we can pull that off and see if coach can actually get in the box. Get in the box if he's uh if he's even willing here. Uh moving right along here, we got the uh Yorktown flag football sensation. Sidney Soliz, one of the most dominant defensive players here in Section One. 81 flag pulls for the season, 41 sacks. Jeez. During Yorktown's 7-0-1 run, she has 31 sacks, uh, which consisted to a multiple shutout victories. Some quick highlights for her. Uh, she got five sacks versus Mayapack, five sacks versus Lakeland, five sacks versus Poughkeepsie. I mean, this young lady is a sack machine here in Yorktown. Flag football uh just amazing.
SPEAKER_02Uh do look like marginal. I mean, she's just 31 sacks in in their 7-0-1 run, and she's had 15 sacks against Mayopach. Maybe pack we talked about. Yeah. Lakeland, we talked about possibly going to the section championship, both of those teams. And then five sacks against uh Section 9 Poughkeepsie, which I'm sure is pretty competitive. But for her to have 10 sacks against Maya Pack and Lakeland is astounding. That's saying something. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_00I mean, yeah, she's got a nose for the flag, and uh I mean, she does. She she might be the best. 81 flagpes.
SPEAKER_02That's similar to like 81 solo tackles in football, Tyler. I mean, for her to be that active, she's disrupting a lot of offenses. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, she's combining her uh her Ray Lewis skills with uh, like you said, Mike. Uh coach finishes up here with the top 10 here. We got uh Tosia Bednars from Tappen Z track and field.
SPEAKER_02So it's it's either Tosia Bednars or Tosiah Bednars. We're gonna say it both ways, so that way we don't have to hear anything on social media. Tappen Z track and field. You know, we talked about golden generation with the Mameric Girls and Boys sports. Tappen Z's gotta be right there on both the boys and girls side, uh, as far as this being a golden generation for them as well. And now you add track and field. So Miss Bednars, Rockland County champion in the girls triple jump. She won the counties with a season best 37 feet, 10-inch jump. That's pop, that's a good pop on that jump and triple jump. Just one and a half inches shy of her personal best. She will, I will predict this now. She will break her personal best in the next two weeks because as the weather gets warmer, track athletes get warmer, the weather brings about better performances, better times, better distances. She's gonna break that. She's a returning New York State Public High School Athletic Association state qualifier. I like to think that she's gonna have a chance to meddle this year if she continues to do what she's doing, um, doing what she's doing this spring. And she obviously had a very tough state meet last year experience. She's gonna use that as motivation to get ready for the spring state championships. So anytime that you have adversity, Tyler, you could just you could talk about this. Anytime you have adversity, it normally makes you a better, it normally makes you a better athlete down the road. Correct?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, correct. Completely. Yeah, I mean, listen, track and field is uh amazing. Uh unfortunately, we will not be covering track and field live for the Section One Championships. Uh, we are doing our best to be everywhere. Uh, this season we will cover the team sports during the Section One Championships live on location. Uh, we're gonna look forward to changing that next season to the best of our ability. It's all about the kids. We we want to be there. We want to give this championship experience uh really, really memorable, like we did for basketball. Uh we want to thank Section One for making these section championships memorable to begin with. Absolutely. We uh we joined with them for this uh this championship season for the spring. We have so many surprises. You guys uh can only get these surprises by coming out to the games. So please, the first championship is going to be next weekend up at Lakeland High School for the Girls Flag Football. We have great giveaways, great surprises, not only for the girls, but for the parents and the fans there that day. So make sure you show up in droves, give support to them. For everyone watching, please make sure you like and subscribe. And not just like and subscribe, but also share this. Forward our Instagram handle or our YouTube channel to friends and family, get them to like and subscribe. We're on the pathway to 10,000 followers. Again, it's not about us. Okay, these numbers only matter so the kids can get more exposure. We don't pay for followers, we don't look for bots, we're not here for notoriety. We are here to congratulate these kids and give them a chance, like Tyler, although his playing on the field does it by himself, but give these kids a chance to be noticed and uh continue their career in college because sports is the greatest thing that we have as young kids. It not only teaches us so many things of how to play together, how to become leaders, how to communicate. But without sports, I'm not really sure where we would be as a society. It's community-driven, it brings us all together. Let's continue to give these kids more exposure. Again, share this file, uh, this Instagram handle, the Winnie Moments at Instagram. And for the show, it's the Winnie Moments show on TikTok and YouTube. I want to thank everybody for watching today. I want to thank Tyler for joining us here on location. Coach, thank you for giving us your uh your soldier boy dance.
SPEAKER_02Appreciate it. I want to I want to say something about Tyler. I want to say this to Tyler. Tyler's gonna have, and I'm gonna make this prediction. Tyler is going to put Williams in the upper echelon in Nescaq, and they're going to be an NCAA perennial uh there'll be an NCAA perennial tournament team with him being at the Williams program. That's my prediction right now. Thank you, coach. I appreciate it.
SPEAKER_00Coach, I agree. And when uh when that happens, we will have uh Tyler get us some uh some free swag.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely. You know, we'll head down there and he'll come by and show us his NCAA tournament ring as well. Right. And his NASCAC championship ring.
SPEAKER_00Yep, we'll go down there and uh we'll we'll we'll see it live.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely.
SPEAKER_00Congratulations, Tyler. We really appreciate uh having you on all your success. And again, everybody, thank you for watching the show. That's a wrap.
