Damn near. But in today's episode, we are going to be talking about the moon landing conspiracy theories. The moonland. The moon landing conspiracy theories, also known as the moon landing hoax or Apollo hoax, says the man that did not land on the moon in 1969 to 1972. Which I forgot who said that. Because Montemas did not write it down. NASA faked the information, and some conspiracy theories believe the Skylab space station is also a hoax. Historians and the scientific community believe that the moon landing conspiracy theories are irrelevant. But debate continues on social media because it is easy for anyone to publish their ideals. There are cultures and subcultures around the world that believe that the moon landing were faked.

Like Nigerian and the Taliban and the International Society for Christian Kassans, or known as ISKCON, also believed that the moon landings were a hoax. Then of course, just how you mentioned the uh the Russian thing. The Soviet Union, or known as the USSR, sent the first man into space in Vosgot. Oh, that's a lot of German names. I know Yuri. I do know that name. And six weeks later, United States President John F. Kennedy promised that the U.S. would land on land a ban on the moon by 1969 in order to win the space race with the USSR and oppress the world with technical superiority, he said. Moon conspiracy theory said that NASA had too many tactical problems to meet their eight-year deadline for landing on the moon. Even though the technologies for it should have been already developed f 40 years later in 2010. Oh, wait, before I even start that, in 2010, President Barack Obama canceled this plan to the moon. Conspiracy theories, this meant the USA still didn't have the technology to go to the moon. About the I think a tenth c of the city? Yes. Of the Apollo moon landings first appeared in December of 1968 when Apollo 8 was launched. Apollo 11 was almost perfectly executed, which amazed many people around the world, while others doubted the voyage was real. NASA commented on some of the conspiracy theories in June of 1977, 27 years later. NASA's director of media services, Brian Welch, 1958 to 2000, said in a Sky TV news interview, and these are the words from Brian, this is 30-year-old stuff. I don't understand why we should spend the time to prove to people that we went to the moon. In fact, the matter is, we did go to the moon when Fox TV aired Bruce Nash's film Conspiracy Theory. NASA updated their web and FTP sites, adding information why the hoax claims are incorrect. They also wrote suggestions for science teachers on how to refute the hoax claims using the lunar sample disk kits. Hi Loon or Hi Batman. In 2002, NASA hired James Edward to write a book Challenging Moon Landing Conspiracy Theories. James was a formal rocket scientist who worked for MSNBC News as a space journalist and analyst. It was later discovered that James was a moon landing conspiracy theorist. NASA soon canceled the project but did not explain why. NASA spokesman Bob Jacobs later said the agency aborted commissioning the book because of the criticism that NASA was for displaying poor judgment. For example, the NASA administration O'Keeffe said the issue of trying to do a targeted response to this is just lending credibility to something that is on its face. In 2006, some of the recordings of the Apollo error were declared missing. The question of what happened to the recordings were seen by conspiracy theories as confirmed of their beliefs. And in 2009, NASA revealed the tapes were erased. So that just adds to it. That the moon landing was fake. Some of the major points and counterpoints are listed. Complexity well complexity moon conspiracy theories think NASA fake this. The Apollo missions were a secret program according to James. The complexity of the conspiracy theories scenarios make them impossible. More than four hundred thousand people worked on the Apollo project for almost ten years. Twelve men walked on the moon, returned to Earth, talked about their experiences. Hundreds of hundred well, hundreds of thousands of people would have kept that secret. Says it would have been a lot easier to actually land on the moon and create such a large conspiracy theory to fake it. The Apollo 16 crew could not have survived the solar flames when they were on their way to the moon. No large solar flare occurred during the flight of Apollo 16. There were large solar flames in 1972. After the Apollo 16 returned to Earth and before the flight of Apollo 17. During the Apollo 15 mission, David Sky did an experiment by dropping a hammer and a falcon feather at the same time. Both hit the ground at the same time. Blueprints and drawings of the machines used in the Apollo projects are missing. Some Apollo eleven tapes containing telemetry and high quality video of the first moon walk are also missing. Moon landing conspiracy theorists believe that this is because they never existed since the mission was fake. Originally high quality imaging from missing tapes. Dr. David Williams, NASA's archivist at the Good Gordon Space Flight Center and the Apollo 11 flight director Eugene Frank Kranz acknowledged that some of the Apollo 11 tapes were missing, and the recordings were sent back to Earth to be shown on TV, but they were converted to a different format, which was lower quality, and the lower quality tapes are available, but both original quality or original high-quality videos received in Australia or missing. Some pictures of the original high-quality image are still available, and videos have been released from the other two missions, like the Apollo Lunar Surface Experiment package. Some people at NASA are looking for the tapes to help them plan for future missions. Somebody likes to be a little vocal.

They believe the Apollo 11 tapes were sent for storage at the United States National Archives in 1970, but by 1984, all the Apollo 11 tapes have been returned to the GODSTOR or GODARD Space Flight Center. The tapes have been stored rather than reused in efforts to determine where they were stored on or ongoing. The God Space Center Flight Center were storing 35,000 new tapes per year in 1967, ever before the Luni lunar landings. Apollo 16 lunar model on November 1, 2006, Cosmos magazine reported a hundred data tapes recorded in Australia during the Apollo 11 missions mission have been found in the basement of the Cert Curtin University of Technology in Puruth, Australia. One of the O tapes was sent to NASA for analyzation. On July 16, 2009, NASA said that it must have erased erased the original footage. Apollo 11 moon footage years ago so that it could reuse the tape on December 22nd, 2009. NASA issued a final report on the tape. For the 40th anniversary of the Apollo Moon landing, Loy Rail Digital of Burbank, California, restored the low quality videos. Some pieces of the restored footage are available on the NASA website. Some conspiracy theories say that some astronauts were killed as part of a cover-up in a TV program about the conspiracy theories. Fox Entertainment Group listed ten astronauts and two others.

Elliot C and Charles Basic uh T thirty or T-38 accident, Gus Gruzman, Apollo 1 fire, Edward Higgins White Apollo 1 fire, Roger B Kiff, Apollo 1 fire, Edward Gibbons car accident, Clifton Williams plane accident, Michael James Adams, the only X-15 pilot killed during the X-15 test, and he was not a NASA astronaut.

I thought that's why I thought you were still talking about those people.

Hey, I've just taken the confusing part for you because it's talking about the ten astronauts and the two other people. But Thomas, Ronald, Barbon. with a family and a with a family in a car crash with a train. After being fired for talking to Congress about the cause of the Apollo one road as a suicide Borov wrote a report critically of the Apollo program and was a critic after the Apollo one fire. Brian Welch died a few months months after debugging a Fox television show about the moon hoax. Conspiracy theories say that telescopes for example the Hubble should have been able to take pictures of any of the moon where Apollo landed. And if people really did land on the moon these pictures should show the scars of the moon's surface and equipment it left behind. NASA has said the images have been taken out of these landing sites but most of the pictures taken by Hubble are too low quality to see very much detail.

Mm-hmm in 2009 NASA released pictures from Lunar recognized the orbital showing the Apollo landing sites in more detail these photographs have not convinced the conspiracy theorists about the pictures were taken by NASA they think NASA is behind the cover up. Some conspiracy theorists say the moon rocks collected by the Apollo program or actually meteor rights from Antarctica. I've heard that one too the Marshall Space Flight Center director and three others traveled to Antarctica in nineteen sixty seven before the Apollo launch to explore for future space missions. Some conspiracy theorists believe that Braun collected some meteors during his trip to use as fake moon rocks.

Like you can actually scientific ways to test the rocks now there could be but who says the rocks might have went MIA I mean true we see how people go MIA the Apollo program collected about 380 kilograms or 840 pounds of moon rocks during the Apollo 11 12 14 15 16 and 17 missions.

See that's what I'm saying if the rocks for the first one were still available then we should be able to compare them and test them to meteorite rocks you know what I mean?

Mm-hmm the technology has improved some sometimes for the good sometimes for the worst but according to scientists around the world these rocks were very different from meteors and other rocks found on earth these rocks are also 200 million years or or well 200 million years older than any rock found on earth and they were similar to to moon rock moon rocks later brought back by the USSR okay this is where I do have a little debate okay now they do say it's different than meteorites I get that it looks different than meteorite rocks.

However when it comes to the age of them the years I mean if we think about space then we are well aware that things in space are a lot older than things on earth so I don't honestly think that is a good comparison to compare how old they are that is true.

I mean you could have meteorites that are coming down that are millions of years older than rocks on earth but also we can probably have meteorites out there or out there but out in space probably from the start that we just haven't discovered yet.

Exactly that's pretty much what I'm saying is that you know when meteorites land do we really know the age of them you know we may now with technology improving but the like you said meteorites could be a lot older than what we I don't think that's a good point to prove that it's a meteor is essentially what I'm saying.

I'm not going to talk about one more paragraph the uh the meteors and all of that is from uh like how on how they can tell by the age of certain things say maybe if they seen a meteor today then if the scientists go out or whoever and get a piece of it like oh this meteor was from 10 years ago how did we miss this but in reality they're gonna probably claim it's like 50 to like whatever years older than what it actually is.

Don't they do like when it comes to fossil digs and stuff like that to find out the age I mean obviously we have records of um like when things were around but when once they do fossil digs don't they kind of like trees there's certain things that characterize how the age is like trees have rings inside their trunks to tell how many years old they are. Isn't that the same way for rocks or am I just mistaken?

I'm not a hundred percent sure I did not really care about history class and oh that's more science I mean uh what you're thinking about is history uh science we are you learn that in science a mix of us I know you know it just gonna mess with you but with with rocks I went no I guess that just shows our age how old we are and how long it's been since we've been in school you go but back to some moon rocks could have been collected without landing on the moon but the first moon rock was found on earth in 1979 and it was only discovered in 1982 that it came from the moon another good point you know kind of like meteorites things do fall from space so how is you know I'm sure with the moon rocks and shit it's the same case I'm sure things fall from the moon too also moon rocks are very rare on earth only 30 kilograms or 66 pounds has ever been discovered why the Apollo mission brought back 380 kilograms.

But again without proof that they're actually moon rocks are we sure they're not just meteorites a very large meteorite I mean like like I said there's a lot of speculation it's called a conspiracy theory for a reason you know there's different things behind it and you know like we've talked about before with the whole JFK thing our government and hell area 51 our government does tend to hide a lot of stuff that you know we don't know about and conspiracies are created around them around the ideas that are brought forth at least okay but yes uh our government does hide a lot of shit but uh how they find out the age of a rock is comparing layers position and measuring radioactive decay so kind of like I said with the tree where it's got rings in the trunk they compare the layers of a rock.

Okay that's what I thought that's kind of what I was getting to I just didn't remember you know old people I I wasn't sure or neither one of us were sure how it how they did it but the technical term is radiometric dating.
