Emily: Zoya Naked Manicure Perfector
Kyle: The Five Star Weekend on Peacock
Sarah: The Psychology of the Internet
We're Emily and Kyle. We started as coworkers in late night television and now we're best friends exploring NYC and our FYPs.
SPEAKER_04This is an interview show about obsessions. Ours, theirs, and maybe yours too. Welcome to We're Obsessed With You. My laptop's dead.
SPEAKER_02Mine's just never on.
SPEAKER_04Hi everyone.
SPEAKER_02Hi.
SPEAKER_04Welcome to We're Obsessed With You, the podcast where we talk to the people we're obsessed with. About the things they're obsessed with. I'm Kyle O'Donnell. I'm Kyle O'Donnell.
SPEAKER_02And I'm Emily Himes.
SPEAKER_04Don't get it twisted. How are you?
SPEAKER_02I'm great. How are you?
SPEAKER_04I'm doing great. Do you have a baby fact?
SPEAKER_02I'm on week 37.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_02And I just got back to the office because we were on hiatus. And when I tell you though, everyone's like, what are you doing here? Like, when are you giving birth? I'm like, does it doesn't look crazy? But yeah, the baby is looking good. I went for a non-stress test where they like um they measure the contractions and the heartbeat at the same time for about an hour. And so you just sit there, and usually they put me in a room that has no service.
SPEAKER_04Oh god.
SPEAKER_02So sometimes they just sit there like this. But I had two contractions yesterday. Oh, cool. I didn't feel during the test. During the test. Like it's just like this little thing that runs and just to see if so I had two contractions.
SPEAKER_04Cool.
SPEAKER_02And I didn't feel them.
SPEAKER_04Wow.
SPEAKER_02In real-time birth, I believe I will be feeling it.
SPEAKER_04You definitely will feel them. And you're getting iron infusions.
SPEAKER_02And I'm getting iron infusions.
SPEAKER_04Does every pregnant person do this?
SPEAKER_02No, I'm low. Um, okay. So I'm a little anemic. And I've been going to this place in Brooklyn. It's on Fleet Place, but I keep saying I'm going to Fleet Street. The deep above Fleet Street. I literally sing it in my head as I walk there every time. And I I do feel like I'm watching the pit because I'm like sitting there getting my like iron infusion and like all the nurses are running around chit-chatting. They were talking about the spray the other day that we talked about. The setting spray, because they're like, my face is melting off. Um, but then by the time I left, it was too busy to talk to them. So I'll have to tell them when I go back.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you got yeah. Airdrop that link.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I know. Kyle is like, airdrop this to them now.
SPEAKER_04I think like three different women. Um wow.
SPEAKER_02Um, but it was Mike's birthday. Yes, last um, he turned 38, and he's calling this like before his child comes into the world, he's calling it um the journey's end. I know.
unknownI know.
SPEAKER_04I'm not gonna say anything. I know.
SPEAKER_02Um, so I got him a cake.
SPEAKER_04Yes.
SPEAKER_02And we went to dinner in Brooklyn at Graziella's, which when it's in Fort Green, and Fort Green's like a very trendy neighborhood, but there's this restaurant. It's very good. It's an Italian restaurant. But I swear, when I walk into it, I feel like I'm in the suburbs, like where people go after like baseball practice, like where all the kids go and it's like full. There was like a girl in a ballet outfit, yeah, and a kid in like uh what do you call the baseball that's little?
SPEAKER_03Little eagle.
SPEAKER_02That's exactly what I'm thinking of. So we go there because it's easy, his his friends with kids. So we go for this dinner, and I have been hyping my cake up. Yeah. I'm like, you guys are gonna freak out when you see this cake. I was so like, I'm so funny, this is so cool. Um, so proud of myself. Mike could couldn't have cared less if there was a cake or not.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02It's been in the fridge for a day, he didn't even see it. Um and so when it's time for the cake to come out, there's 10 people, and one of his very good friends from childhood, another Mike, we're gonna call him Schmidt because his last name is Schmidt, is at the end of the table. So he's kind of far from where the cake is coming out. And the cake comes out and everyone's ooing and awing. It's blue. Not gonna tell you what it is yet. It's a blue cake. And his Schmidt's wife, Bianca, goes, Oh my god, look at the cake. And Mike Schmidt is such a sweet guy. Oh and he sees he can't see anything, but he sees that it's blue. And he sees Mike's face and he sees everyone's reaction.
SPEAKER_04It's a boy.
SPEAKER_02And he goes, Oh my god, it's it's a gender reveal. I can't believe I'm here for this. This is like so emotional. Like, wait, Schmidt, why do you think I wouldn't be at the gender reveal?
SPEAKER_04This is my child.
SPEAKER_02I can't believe she's telling Mike this way. Oh my god. And then we get up, or he gets up to actually look at it to see what it is. And when I tell you it couldn't be farther from a gender reveal.
SPEAKER_04If you're listening, go to our YouTube.
SPEAKER_02It's basically um is a Zin pack.
SPEAKER_04You got a custom, what is that, six inch, eight inch?
SPEAKER_02It's a six-inch.
SPEAKER_04Six-inch round cake that they put a photo of the Zin. Screen print of a Zin packaging, including the Surgeon General's warning.
SPEAKER_02This product contains nicotine. Nicotine is an addictive chemical. I did ask if they could say happy birthday.
SPEAKER_04This is the best cake I've ever seen.
SPEAKER_02It's so funny.
SPEAKER_04I'm like, you killed it. How'd you come up with that?
SPEAKER_02I saw it somewhere, I saw a cookie cake where someone made it into a Zin pack, and I was like, oh, I could do this. Well, and I didn't do it. I went to Padoka Bakery.
SPEAKER_04Great.
SPEAKER_02Up here on the Upper East Side. They usually need seven days' notice, but they did it for me in six.
SPEAKER_04It's adorable. I love it. Yeah. Guys, the Zin cake, it's the Zin cake.
SPEAKER_02And then when he realized that it was the Zin pack, he was like, oh. Okay.
SPEAKER_04I love it.
SPEAKER_02For just like our Zin lover.
SPEAKER_04Yes. Yeah. Jeff Keller.
SPEAKER_02He has to, yeah. But Jeff has to give Mike some tips because Mike's gotta like chill.
SPEAKER_04Chill out.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Um, that's all well and dandy. I gotta talk about my obsession.
SPEAKER_02I have to talk about it too, because I'm excited for you to bring it up.
SPEAKER_04I am obsessed with a little TV show called Five Star Weekend, baby.
SPEAKER_02Is it called the Five Star Weekend?
SPEAKER_04Yes, but I don't like that.
SPEAKER_02I know it's so weird. I keep it.
SPEAKER_04I like calling it Five Star Weekend. The Jennifer Gardner miniseries. On Peacock. On Peacock, based off the book Elon Hildebrand.
SPEAKER_02She writes all about Nantucket.
SPEAKER_04I've never read any Elon Hildebrand.
SPEAKER_02Me neither. I just know it's all Nantucket-based.
SPEAKER_04Yes, and I does the show make me want to read the book?
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_04No, because the show is perfect.
SPEAKER_02I'm only three episodes in. It's eight episodes.
SPEAKER_04I could not devour it quick enough. I like to do it. I was canceling plans. Plans. It stars Jennifer Garner. She plays Hollis Shaw, a food influencer, whose husband passes away. And then six months after, she invites four of her friends from different aspects of her life. So her childhood best friend, her college best friend, her mom best friend, like from suburbia, and then one of her fans.
SPEAKER_02New friends slash fans.
SPEAKER_04Yes. And to her house in Nantucket for like a weekend of processing.
SPEAKER_02And then she grew up in Nantucket. So the home friend is from Nantucket.
SPEAKER_04Yes. And when I say this is, I think the best ensemble cast on television right now. Chloe Sevigny is amazing as a like Nantucket townie. Regina Hall, so freaking funny, but she has so many like moments of heart. Dasie Cadden, the best name to say in a Boston accent besides Masha Gay Haddon. She is the most reliable comedic actress we have right now.
SPEAKER_02She is so good in this.
SPEAKER_04And then Gemma Chan. Yeah. Who is so good, like she has this mist this mystery.
SPEAKER_02There's things unfolding about every character, really, which is kind of fun.
SPEAKER_04But there's a scene between Jennifer Garner and my main girl, JBH, Jenna Bush Hager, my queen.
SPEAKER_02Two minutes into the show. Two minutes in, first episode. Like, you don't have to watch farther to get to where Kyle's talking about.
SPEAKER_04Jennifer Garner goes on the Today show and she has a breakdown. Jenna Bush Hager is doing phenomenal work.
SPEAKER_02It was really, really good.
SPEAKER_04I feel like she's like looking at the producers on the side of the camera. She's like, This is when you're like, oh, this is a woman who knows what she does in her real life and translates it. Like sometimes people act, they're cast as themselves and they can't do it. I was like, oh, this is amazing.
SPEAKER_03No, she's a good one.
SPEAKER_04And Jennifer Garner, you can tell, is a huge fan of foodie culture because I was watching this and I was like, that's Molly Yeah. That's Ivan Garner. There are things she's stealing from these food influencers. And it comes naturally to her because she obviously does her own food stuff. But besides all that, this show is a delight.
SPEAKER_02It is a delight.
SPEAKER_04It goes down easy peasy.
SPEAKER_02It's also like, I mean, they're all dealing with some quite hard stuff. Yes.
SPEAKER_04It's not just like it's fun for the whole family.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yes.
SPEAKER_02I also there, her daughter is there too. Her daughter comes to surprise her the weekend. And there's something going on with the daughter and a boy. And I'm intrigued by that storyline as well. Yes. I'm really interested to know how that unfolds. And there's a love interest, Timothy Oliphant.
SPEAKER_04Yes. Jennifer Garner, if you don't sell Hollis Shaw tarts after this, that's like the big thing she makes. You're missing out.
SPEAKER_02There's that one funny scene with the yoga instructor when there's put the second episode. They all stay up too late one night and they don't wake up in time for the yoga instructor at 8:30, but the yoga instructor comes in and sees that tart and freaks out.
SPEAKER_04It's just like it, it's the perfect balance. It's heartfelt, it's funny. It makes me like love my friends. Like it made me want to be like, I want to do a five-star weekend.
SPEAKER_02I know. So fun.
SPEAKER_04All eight episodes are out now. I love this show.
SPEAKER_02The girls in my office and I are kind of watching not as quickly, which is fun because we're like each day we'll like talk about an episode.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. It is set up for a second season. I don't know how they would do it with like the Gemma Chan of it all, once you find out that mystery.
SPEAKER_02But you find out in episode one.
SPEAKER_04Yes. Um, but it's phenomenal. I love it. Everyone watch it. M, hit me. What are you obsessed with?
SPEAKER_02I have been picking at my nails, but I went to get a manicure the other day because I was like, once I get a manicure, I won't pick at them and I just need to like start it up again. Because they were so short, and I was like, if I get them done, it'll be okay. And I bring my own color. But this one place I go to in four green page seven has this color. Um the brand is Zoya, which I'm sure you've seen before. I have not. Well, that's I guess if you don't go to a if you don't go to nails line not seeing this. But Zoya is a non-toxic vegan brand that is up there with a, I feel like it's S E O P I, and now this has started to be all over, and they have a bunch of colors. But this is their what is it called? The MN Perfector.
SPEAKER_04NM Perfector.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So it comes in a set of naked manicure.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So it's a naked manicure set. And you can get like the fun colors from here, but I'm minimalist. I don't like a lot of color.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Your natural beauty.
SPEAKER_02It's a natural, it's I just think for the summer, if you're not gonna do the gel fun colors, like I can't do that. I love the smell of nail polish. I know, it's really good. I just it comes in a set. So the nail perfector also comes, I don't have is the lavender. So you do your base, the lavender, then you put this on top, and then your top coat. Oh. So you layer, and you can layer all the different colors because it comes in a set. Like this perfector is a set.
SPEAKER_04Got it.
SPEAKER_02So you can choose which one you want to put on top of the lavender.
SPEAKER_04And that just smooths it all out.
SPEAKER_02And it just smooths it out and it makes it. There's one that's like a little more pink, there's one that's a little more brown, but it's all very nude and minimalist. And I just think that like it's so easy for the summer. And when you're tan, it just like looks nice. Feels good, and it feels good to have a manicure.
SPEAKER_04This is available on our Shop Mai. Yeah. So you can go to our ShopMai our profile. Reminder that we are on Facebook, TikTok, Instagram. Follow us on all three. We are also on YouTube. If you're listening to us, go over to YouTube.
SPEAKER_02I have a beautiful pink dress on today.
SPEAKER_04Beautiful pink dress. I love it. It's a color I never wear. I know.
SPEAKER_02You've never seen me in this in all the years.
SPEAKER_04I'm thinking this may be in your pal.
SPEAKER_02I think it's also I'm tan. So it's like I could not wear this.
SPEAKER_04It looks really nice. Um we're also available via Gmail. Email us at we'reobsesswithu at gmail.com.
SPEAKER_02So crazy because we bring this up every week and nobody's email us.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, just say hi. Um, and please rate us and review on your podcast app of choice, Spotify. Five stars, ideally. Yes.
SPEAKER_02Have we gotten a bad review? Not yet, baby. Um no trolls yet. I think that's how you know you made it, though.
SPEAKER_04Oh no, I've got personal bad reviews. People have told us, I've told me that they're not fans of it. Okay. Okay, I'm not a fan of you.
SPEAKER_02I hate them.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. We gotta talk about our guests today.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god, I like forgot.
SPEAKER_04We are interviewing Broma Bakes, aka Sarah Fennel.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04She is a content creator, a baker.
SPEAKER_02I'm sure you've had one of her recipes. Like someone has baked a recipe and brought it to your house before.
SPEAKER_04Emily said everybody in her office bakes these recipes. Personally, I bake all of her recipes. Um, we're gonna get into a lot of exciting things. Her THC collab, she does Whitney Port.
SPEAKER_02And her many, many obsessions.
SPEAKER_04And her many obsessions. She texted Julia a long line of obsessions. But we we just love her. We love her cookbook sweet tooth, buy it now.
SPEAKER_02And bake it.
SPEAKER_04And bake from it. It's she does all these recipes that are like individual bakes.
SPEAKER_02I like tonight. I'm like, oh, if I'm home alone, like I'll just bake something for myself.
SPEAKER_04I'm gonna get I have gotten so stoned out of my mind and made a single chocolate chip cookie, and that's like it's actually perfect.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. You can't like if you made 12 cookies, you'd probably eat all 12.
SPEAKER_04Duh. Are you kidding me? I've even when I'm not stoned, I have no self-control.
SPEAKER_02No, it's so hard. Or I'd have like a half of one, and then I go back for the other half, and then I go back.
SPEAKER_04And then I throw it all out, and then I'm like, all right, that was $17 on the trade. Not with Sarah Fennel's book.
SPEAKER_02Nope, nope, nope.
SPEAKER_04We'll be right back, everyone. Sarah Fennel, we're obsessed with the side. We're obsessed with you.
SPEAKER_01I am so happy to be here. Welcome.
SPEAKER_04This was one of our most fun episodes to prep for because we're like legitimately your biggest fans.
SPEAKER_02We had so much stuff that Kyle literally was just yelling at me like, stop coming up with questions. We have too much for her.
SPEAKER_04This is probably like a five-part series. The way I stumbled across you was with your champagne jello shots a few years ago. Yeah. For um around like New Year's and like Christmas and everything. So I made them for a New Year's party.
SPEAKER_02It was a hit.
SPEAKER_04Huge hit. Yep. And then I became more obsessed with you when you're on Watch It Happens Live. And you brought me baked goods. Yes, yes. She dishes it out. She brought recipes that she's trying out. We are so obsessed with you, Sarah. Your cookbook, Sweet Tooth, is a New York Times bestseller. Incredible.
SPEAKER_01Look at her. She matches. I know. She did it purposely. I'm obsessed.
SPEAKER_04Thank you, Newley. Um in your book, in your book, you talk about how your philosophy is to bake more and bake often. What where did your love of baking come from?
SPEAKER_01My mom. I love that. Like it just did. And I know that's something that feels so true for so many bakers, but like there really is something about when you grow up with baking that it just like carries you through the rest of your life. Like one, if you grow up with baking, you can't then not have baking in your life. Like, I don't know. That's how I feel.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, but she she was really interesting because she was a home baker. She was a full, so my parents were divorced. So she was a full-time uh, you know, breadwinner. But then she would come home and it would literally be like 6 p.m. and she would bake brownies or bake cookies or like literally bake a cake, just so we could have a cake around. So she really like had such a sweet tooth, which is like why I'm coming back, yeah. Um and that's just where it came from. And so we just had we had bakeds all the time.
SPEAKER_04Where do you think her love of bacon came from?
SPEAKER_01I think it came from her grandfather. So her grandfather was like one of her most important, maybe her most important adult in her life. Like he was just so like comforting for her. He taught her and her sister, so my aunt, how to cook. And then they would also bake together. And so I think like the general idea of like cooking and like family time came from him. And then I mean, I have a sweet tooth, like she has a sweet tooth. Like this one eats so much sugar, it's insane. So I think it's just like yeah, like it's just like part of her DNA. It was part of my DNA.
SPEAKER_02Was there something that you loved? I mean, you were learning to bake all these different things with her, but what was there a standout where you were like, I can't wait to bake this with my mom?
SPEAKER_01So, I mean, another interesting thing is it's not like we were doing like crazy complicated recipes. It was like it was like a group of five or ten. Um, but the most iconic was her Catherine Canfield cookies. That's her name. I was like, I've never heard of that. So Catherine Canfield cookies, it's a chocolate chip cookie, and it's pretty much the cookie on the back of the Nestle toll house. But but my friends would literally be like, oh my god, are those Catherine Canfield cookies? Um and so we would have those, I mean, at least once a week. So like I grew up eating the cookie dough off of the spoon and everything. Like that is the first like food I can remember tasting.
SPEAKER_04Well, you speak to it in the intro of your book of like how nostalgic baking can be. And what I personally love about a lot of your recipes is that they do hearken back to the simplicity of childhood, yeah, elevated. Like I think that's so brilliant. Like you'll take a sugar cookie, but you'll make it into a bar. Like it's just so like I can't, I smile when I think of some of these. Like when you flip through the cookbook, it's gorgeous. I don't know. It just it brings me back to a simpler time.
SPEAKER_02I know what's it like sitting, kind of like thinking about these recipes, like the process of that.
SPEAKER_01I definitely I when when I'm coming up with recipes, I always want to think about a familiar flavor or familiar form. Yeah. Like it needs to have some sort of sense of familiarity to to bring it back to nostalgia and sort of like just something that you already know and maybe you already love. Um, but then I'm thinking about, yeah, like what can we do to make it more for an adult palate? Yeah. Maybe uh a a little a little more elevated in the flavor profile we're creating with it, or even just like bringing a flavor that you know and love into a new form that you haven't seen. So like having those little tweaks, I'm just like always thinking about. It's like, it's literally like math, like in my head. It's so creative. Yeah. But I think, you know, it's not like I started out having that sort of formulation down. When I started, I really didn't know what my what my lane within baking was gonna be. It was always gonna be baking. Yeah. But you know, I tried out some healthy things, I tried out some more like decadent, sort of like Instagram 2016, like super complicated, beautiful things. And I just kept coming back to the stuff that I was making for myself at the end of the day. Was that more simple stuff? Yeah, but like with a little flair. You have to have that little flair.
SPEAKER_02I can't believe that you started this in college. Well, like, not I mean, not started, but like really started like started some. Yeah, yeah. Because in college, I like barely had a kitchen. I was going out, I was so hungover. Like, I love that this is where it all came to like to be.
SPEAKER_01So, I mean, I was hungover when I made my first podcast, to be clear. Um, but so I was at NYU at the time, I was a sophomore, and I hated NYU. Like, I love New York. Like, NYU was not my place. You should have come to Fordham in the Bronx. I'm the Bronx. And I had new girls that went there and they loved it. Yeah. Um, so I was really looking for a sense of comfort and a sense of familiarity. And I really loved photography. I almost wanted to go to school for it, like made a portfolio, and then my parents were like, we can't afford for you to go to art school. What are you talking about? What are you made up?
unknownWhat are you doing?
SPEAKER_01And I went to liberal art school and I got a degree in anthropology, but I was like, this is so not my thing. Yeah. And then, like, just not feeling like I was connected to the culture of NYU and the kids at NYU. Um, I I just wanted a hobby. And so it was really just like a way for me to spend my time and like feel creative and like feel happy. Yeah. Yeah. Um, and so it was this way that I could combine photography with baking. And my dad was a news reporter and a journalist. And so like he instilled photography in me. And then my mom did baking, and it's like this confluence of the two. I love it. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Well, we've a common thread of what we've been talking to about people on this podcast is that a lot of the times the things that were interested in them started off as their side hassle. Yeah, totally. This is amazing that in college you created Broma Bakes, your blog, and it became your brand. Like post grad. I think that's amazing.
SPEAKER_02But it is funny, like we're we are focusing on like all of the things that you bake and you do. But like photography is just as important for the all of them too. You take all the pictures in the book.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. I mean, photography, I would say, is like my baking is baking feels so deeply ingrained in me, but photography was like my first passion. Yeah. If that makes sense. So like baking was like always there. But photography was something I just like loved doing. So yeah, like I I it I felt really fortunate to find this thing that not only then, like, I was able to turn into a career, but like it's been, you know, I started my vlog in October, October 31st, 2010. Because it was Halloween. Literally, woke up hung over. You can find this picture on the internet.
SPEAKER_04It's my still running.
SPEAKER_01Literally, me in a tutu. Um, of course. Like just had it from the night before. Um, so so it's amazing that I was able to like monetize it soon after that, and I've been able to continue to. Amazing. Yeah. Like it's I feel really grateful about that. Because obviously, like social media and all this is so like fluid. And I I just feel really grateful to like be able to continue to make money doing what I love.
SPEAKER_04Well, I think you know, when you say that you're trying to find your lane and you found this like simplicity, nostalgic, but elevated thing. Yeah. I think that's kind of the key because you aren't responding to trends. Like the health craze may be over any day now. Like there's smoke in the sky. Like, people may stop. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Isn't that crazy? Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Like we're plotting through the end of the world right now. It was crazy. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But to your point about like this like sort of elevation and nostalgia, but like simplicity, it's definitely something that I think about all the time because I was actually at a dinner recently with a few other creators, and we were eating something with like strawberry in it or strawberry basil or something. And they were like, I have this amazing way that I would do this, or oh my God, what if you did it this way? And then they turned to me and kind of jokingly were like, and Sarah, you're just gonna make like a like bread. And it and it was really interesting because I was like, I no, I totally couldn't. Make something more complicated, but like I'm purposefully keeping it this more like simple thing so that bacon can be a more everyday thing for people and not that special occasion thing. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04When was the first thing that made you kind of go, I don't want to say viral, but like expanded from your normal audience?
SPEAKER_01Okay. The first thing was 37 calorie brownies. This was this was in, I want to say this was 2012-ish that I made.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And it was literally just like in a blender, you could do it. And and depending on like the the ingredients that you bought, like it was maybe like 54 calories, but like I don't know, I went with 37, whatever. And people were livid about it's actually 49. It's actually like 39. Essentially, whatever. Yeah, what is it? And I was like, oh my God. Um, so that was the first thing I went really, really viral for. No, I mean, literally my number one recipe on my site for like the first five years. Yeah, it was crazy. Like millions and millions.
SPEAKER_02So people are annoyed that it's not the right thing, but they're still gonna make it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. And then of course, people are like, this is disgusting. I'm like, what do you expect? Like, it's not gonna be. Um, and then the first thing I went viral for on TikTok was a parody video of me being Guy Fiat or Fieti. Guy Fieti. Yeah. Thank you for saying it properly.
SPEAKER_02Okay, yes.
SPEAKER_04He's a huge fan.
SPEAKER_02So I don't mess with him.
SPEAKER_01Um so that's also, you know, not really what I'm known for. Right. But it but it what I dressed up as him.
SPEAKER_04That's so funny. I was going to say, I feel like I saw you do like a single serve. Single serve was big.
SPEAKER_01What was it?
SPEAKER_04The chocolate chip list chocolate cookies. That was saying that a lot of copycats after you.
SPEAKER_01Totally. Yes. I came up with that. No, no. Um that's like a whole funny subject to me of who comes up with recipes. But that's crazy. Yes, that was a big one, the chocolate chipless cookie. So yeah, basically, it's a chocolate chip cookie. You literally remove the chocolate chips. And so many people are like, that's a sugar cookie. No, it's not. No, it's not.
SPEAKER_04Nope.
SPEAKER_01It's totally different. It's with brown sugar, it's different ratios of sugar to flour to it doesn't even look the same.
SPEAKER_02No, it doesn't get the color doesn't look.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And then the single serve was big too. But I think interestingly, and I think gratefully ultimately, like, I've had these viral moments, but it's really just been like a lot of steady like engagement. Like, I haven't, it wasn't like I had like so much at one point and then it dropped, or like whatever. Like it really has been just like this slow and steady consistency.
SPEAKER_02Consistency posting too. Do you feel like you have to hit amount, like a certain amount of posts to like keep it?
SPEAKER_01It's it's so exhausting, honestly. Like all I think about is how far ahead are we in posting. Oh my God, should I do another video? Should I do another one? Like, that's that's the most exhausting part of my job, just like how continuous you have to be with your posting. And at the same time, I think that's why I've been so consistent in my in my success.
SPEAKER_04So I also think a part of your success is your authenticity and your like, I don't want to say celebration of imperfections, but like you welcome them. Like sometimes you pour something in a bowl, it gets everywhere. Or you're like, this does not look right.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_04But also with your personal life as well. Like you've been very open about things in your personal life. You're increasing, your lip filler, all this stuff.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, the lip filler trajectory. Fabulous. Thank you so much. I can't wait to inject my face. It's like it's okay. It's like day two. Oh, baby. Oh my god. Yeah, to come to your house.
SPEAKER_04Was that a decision to start to like open up your personal life outside of the stuff?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, or did it just come naturally as you're posting constantly? I think it I uh like combination, like it definitely comes naturally. I think naturally I sit at this kind of weird place where I if if you literally glance at me on the street, you might think I'm very put together. But as soon as we start talking, and like I'm put together in like sort of like my life, and you know, I have schedules down and like things like that, but like I'm a little weird. And so like I think it just like so I think that just like naturally comes across. And I and I think that as I posted more and more, I've found that those moments are those like moments of connection that people really like. Totally. Of course. And so I just include them. And it's so funny because I'll get people like commenting, like, oh my god, this is so forced. I'm like, no, I'm actually spilling this. It's actually making this much of a mess. Like my team knows, like, oh God, Sarah, why are you wearing a white shirt? Because you will make a mess. Like it will just happen. Literally two days ago, I had a white shirt on, I was making something, I fully stained it, I put it in the wash. I had to finish the video later in the day, got out of the wash. It was ice cream I was making. I put the ice cream into the ice cream machine, it splattered all over me again. Like it just happens. So well, thank goodness you have like a washer dryer in the unit.
SPEAKER_04Thank you to go too. Yeah. Um, speaking of ice cream, you you're doing a series right now about no-churn.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Ice cream. How's that going? And how do you decide on that?
SPEAKER_01So every time the summer comes around, I'm like, what am I gonna post? Nobody wants to bake in the summer. Yeah, like I don't want to bake in the summer. And so I just it probably was I like get high a lot and think a lot, like literally when I'm about to go to sleep, and I'm like, oh my god, I should do this. And inspiration straight, yes. It really does. And so I was like, I should just do an ice cream series. Like it'll just be an easy thing to keep going throughout the summer, like, but also really fun. Like, yeah, a little plug and play, but like fun. And I decided to make it no turn because we were just talking about this. Like, I custard ice cream is amazing. Custard ice cream is elite and better than no turn. Um, but I think this really goes along with my brand. Like, I want to make things as accessible as possible and I want to take away as many potential barriers as possible. So no-turn ice cream, which is basically whipped cream and sweet and condensed milk, combine them together, freeze them. It has a very, very similar texture to ice cream. I was like, let's just make it an all-no-turn series. So it's really fun. I'm really liking it.
SPEAKER_04Speaking of um medicinal inspiration, you want to talk about the high confectionery and collab.
SPEAKER_01I can't wait to try it. I should have brought you some. Oh my god. I always no, but I can't wait to try it. Yeah, I'm gonna get injected and eat some of those at the same time.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, the pop brownie recipe that you made in collab with them. And you've also made THG infused chocolate points.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Brilliant.
SPEAKER_01Thank you.
SPEAKER_04How did that come to be?
SPEAKER_01Okay, so Whitney Port and I were at an event.
SPEAKER_04We love her soon.
SPEAKER_01We love her. She's and she's like even better in person, honestly. She's amazing.
SPEAKER_04She's one of our former co-worker slash friends, best childhood friends. So we we've like met her in passing a few times, and I'm always legitimately so star.
SPEAKER_01We're also like Hills fans.
SPEAKER_04Of course.
SPEAKER_01Weirdly, it was like two years before my time, I want to say. Or like maybe I just like didn't watch it, but but I hear she was great on it. She was. She really was. Yeah. And then she had the city. Yeah. Yeah. Um, she's amazing. So we met at an event and we just like hit it off. And we were literally at this event, and I talked about how I liked smoking weed, and she was like, Do you know that I have this company and it's like low dose edibles? And I was like, Oh my god, that's really I didn't know she had it until this call. Yeah, I didn't either. Yeah. And like so sold. So basically, like all edibles, or you know, almost all edibles are in five milligrams, 10 milligrams, and 20 milligrams. The high confectionery does one milligram in like a gummy instead. So it's really good for women because I think, especially women who are starting out with weed, five is too much. It's overwhelming. And so to be able to dose in that way that's much more intentional, is just like, I think lovely. And I think it really like I I love that alcohol culture is like slowing down a little bit. But like we all have and need some vices. And so, like, I am I'm all for a little well for me, it's more like a six or seven, yeah.
SPEAKER_02But for your tolerant for like a little one or two, yeah, you know, to just I also think the brownies probably delicious. Like, I don't want just one, like because I was saying, like, it's so hard to just like break off a tiny piece when I'm like, well, I want to eat half the bar.
SPEAKER_04So one time in college, I went to my friend Irene's apartment. Oh, tell him. We had to go see a sh a play. We were in a theater class, we have to go see this play. And I get to her house. I'm like, I'm talking about a sweet tooth.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04No one compares to me.
SPEAKER_01I love it.
SPEAKER_04I have a full-blown sugar addiction. I should be sent away. So I go to their house and there's a plate of brownies. I'm like, I'm gonna have a brownie. Don't ask anyone. I eat one brownie, I'm like, I'm gonna have a second. I'm gonna have a second. I'm gonna have a third. This is 2013. So like there wasn't much, like she had to invent the city. Yeah, she made the butter.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I'm a I'm a yes, yes.
SPEAKER_04I at the time was not a regular cannabis user as I am now. I was so out of my mind. She comes out, she's like, these are pop brownies. I was like, I mean, I have three.
SPEAKER_02And you never know how to do how much is in them.
SPEAKER_04No, I was like, this is what it is.
SPEAKER_02This is my life.
SPEAKER_04We go to this play uh at Georgetown where I went to school. The play had it was called Trojan Barbie, and it was a reimagining of like the Trojan War, but from a women's perspective.
SPEAKER_02First hell brilliant. Yeah, I love that.
SPEAKER_04The entire audience was covered with um barbed wire with impaled Barbies. My friend's sister walks on stage carrying a mannequin, like that it's her baby. Oh my god. I was like, this is the worst experience of my life.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, overwhelming.
SPEAKER_04I was sitting there like this, sweating from head to toe.
SPEAKER_02But what'd you do with your teacher?
SPEAKER_04On the way out, I see my professor and I go, thank you.
SPEAKER_01Did he ever did he speak to you on Monday and was you like, and I was like, I can't, I can't even take this on.
SPEAKER_04That's incredible. So now I'm going to make your brownies and have a one milligram per brownie, so much better. I think that's great because it also just like softens.
SPEAKER_02Again, it makes it an easier intro. Everything makes it easier for everybody.
SPEAKER_04Like, I would like to consistently be high. And if I have like one of these little things. Yeah. Yeah, I can do that. There you go. Yes, yes, yes, yes. Um, we'll be right back with your obsession. But what's one word you'd use to describe it? And you're not a lot.
SPEAKER_01I know you have a lot, so narrow it down. You guys, this was hard for me. Um I hate this. I'm doing it. Hive mind.
SPEAKER_04Ooh. Alright, we'll be right back. Okay, we're back.
SPEAKER_03We're back.
SPEAKER_04We're gonna get into the hive mind. What are you obsessed with, Sarah Fennel?
SPEAKER_01I'm obsessed with the psychology of the internet. Let's go. Let's let's dive in. Okay, like I don't even know where to start. So, like, why are some Nepo babies okay, but some are not? Like, it makes no sense to me. I know. Why, like, why is it okay for some influencers to like be posting chic outfits all the time that are very like expensive? And then some you're like, why is she only doing that? Like, what where where's our line? It's true. Why, why are we obsessed with cancel culture? Like, what, like just everything around what happens on the internet from this like masculine, and I think it's from my anthropology background. Definitely. It is, it's it is this whole like cultural thing. Oh my god, I have so many. Wait, yeah, I literally wrote them down because it's so fascinating.
SPEAKER_04I can talk about internet culture for so long.
SPEAKER_01Why do people like Stanley Cubs? They're not good, they're bulky, they're big. No, no, you like them.
SPEAKER_04Well, I have one that I keep in my apartment and I love it.
SPEAKER_01It's bulky.
SPEAKER_04Well, I can keep it in my apartment. Okay, okay. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I'm literally like a camelback from like oh wow 2010. Well, like I upgraded it, but like a 2010 like version. Yeah. I'm like, I don't get it. See, yes, camelback like that.
SPEAKER_04But with that said, I don't understand the cult of water bottles.
SPEAKER_01I have cult of special stand like having 20 different ones.
SPEAKER_04No.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god. It is kind of weird though. I find myself I drink out of that water bottle all the time. Like, I don't use a glass at home anywhere. No, that's why I use my water bottle. Yeah. To not use like what happened to glasses.
SPEAKER_01What happened to glasses? Okay, what is like the range of someone becoming overexposed? Like it's a we all love, we all love Sabrina Carpenter. We love her, we love her, we love her, and now we don't. Like, we why?
SPEAKER_04So there the podcast Stradio Lab talks about this concept. We call it Lizzo's Pass. Oh my god. And then one day everyone woke up. Yes. And it changed.
SPEAKER_02And our new album didn't. And right, and it's woke up. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04It was just overnight, everyone was like, that music's bad. Yeah. She's bad. And it's just like, but why?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. But why? Yeah. Why? I just find it fascinating. And then I I love the like whole internet culture around like the best top comment. Like sometimes when the comments better than the video. Like I just love it. I'm like, I love scrolling comments. Yeah. Or like when you watch a video and you're like, oh, I just know there's gonna be a hilarious comment calling this thing out. That's exactly what I think. So I just like love internet culture. It's so weird. Snark culture, like I don't get it. Yeah. Why, or like, or cancel culture in general, like all of it, it's like, do we do it? Like, why do people do it? Or like, why would why would you call someone like a bitch in a comment, but you would never say it to their face? So is it because it's what you really think? Is it because like we're so removed with online society?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Well, these little girls that I babysat uh for a long time, they made me a TikTok page, which is mortifying because they like it's such it's for you, of you. Yeah, because they were like, Well, we're kids, we can't be on here. Like, people will see us, so we'll do one of you. But it's actually so embarrassing because it's on my phone from high school. So, like, high school my high school friends like thinking.
SPEAKER_04I was smoking once. I was like, Why is this Emily doing this like weird video? Like a witch video.
SPEAKER_02It was horror. And I look bad, I'm like, oh my god, people probably think I like went off like the rails. But the little girls love to be trolls, they love to troll other people's accounts. And I'm like, this is so interesting. That like, why? They're 10 and they're like, oh, let's be mean to this person. And I'm like, mainly me. They're like trolling me ultimately, but like they know about trolling, yeah, which is like, why are you being mean? And you wouldn't say that to their face.
SPEAKER_01Why is there so much mean online? But like it doesn't translate to the real world as much. Is it because these are our natural tendons? No, I think it's because you're hiding behind, like you feel like you can.
SPEAKER_04It's so hard to be face to face with people, and that's why it's so hard to say no to people face to face.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Because like when you make eye contact with someone, there is that connection. But when you're behind when you're the keyboard warrior, as I said, you can it's the anonymous element of it.
SPEAKER_01And then you can just walk away and put your phone away and it like doesn't exist. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04But I think a big part of like the Nebo baby thing. Why is this, why this influencer doing this? Why people are addicted to discourse.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And it's kind of I think chipping away at communication skills because it's just this is my opinion, that's your opinion. Let's fight, but not actually try to come to a middle ground.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely.
SPEAKER_04And everyone wants a hot take, and everyone wants to like have that.
SPEAKER_02It's also like, I feel like within the last few years, a few of these influencers have have gotten so big, and some people have fallen off with them. And you're like, but I follow I liked them, and now they've changed and they're not authentic. They lose that authenticity as well when they start like posting for brands.
SPEAKER_01Like Alex Earl. Like some people are like, oh, she's not relatable anymore. I was like, she's super relatable because she like literally will go on a date and tell you exactly how it went. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I love I love about all of her friends, and I want to go on Sally's 24-hour birthday party one time.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Wasn't it like 72 hours? It was like, yeah, well, she just turned 25, so it's 25, and then 26 next year.
SPEAKER_01I'm sure it'll be crazy.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And I think it's just so interesting, like this idea of like you want your influencers to be relatable, but you also are like rooting for them to have success, but then they get too much success, and then you become jealous. And they lose what you liked them for. Yeah. It's all so interesting to me. But you know, it's I really struggled with this obsession, you guys, because I'm not an obsessed person.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I'm like somebody that like very measuredly enjoys things a little bit. Yes. Oh, not me.
SPEAKER_04Not me. I become about something for 72 hours and then I never think about it again.
SPEAKER_01Oh, no, I like that though. Yeah, I just have a quick, like, yeah, blink.
SPEAKER_04Yes. What another there's this whole on gay Twitter, there's this ongoing joke that every two weeks we have to have a discourse about open relationships.
SPEAKER_01And especially during the recycled and recycled.
SPEAKER_04We have to have a conversation. We have to have discourse about Fire Island. And now it's become a joke of like, it's been 10 days. When is someone gonna treat about open relationships?
SPEAKER_02I love that.
SPEAKER_04And it's just, I like when where does it stand today? I haven't seen anything today, so I thought we'd do one by Monday. We'll have a discourse. Like, I like when the discourse becomes about discourse. Yes, yeah, yeah. It's like a meta. Yeah, yeah. Whoa. Well, we talked about this with Vaughn Vreeland about the concept of um Javerism online, which is some woman came up with this concept. That's do you know Lamez?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04That Javer. Um, Javer has this vengeance against this guy that did nothing to him.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_04He just stole a loaf of bread for his family. For his family, and he makes it his life mission to get him back in prison. And that's what the internet is now. Like just getting mad at people for something that does not affect you. I know. And I'm gonna do it.
SPEAKER_02And it's like not even small. The tiny little small like, does it matter?
SPEAKER_01No, does it? Doesn't matter. But like I I do think that in a weird way, it's like we we are at this like place in capitalism where we have uh created so much comfort for ourselves that it's almost like we're like seeking like discomfort or like seeking like something to hate because our lives are like pretty like uh easy from a day-to-day perspective. Not that everyone's lives are easy, but like you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_04It's just like so.
SPEAKER_01Like looking for a reason that's interesting. You're looking for a reason to hate something.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, as someone who works in the world of celebrity, yeah, my favorite type of celebrity scandal is a victimless one. And I always go back to Hilaria Baldwin and the access.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_04That is my favorite type of celebrity scandal because it's not hurting anyone, it is just a ridiculous thing that happened. I love those scandals. And I think the last and we are we're so gone from monoculture. Monoculture does not exist anymore. No, but the moments that of monoculture. Yes, and it's because it's kind of so ridiculous.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_04And I think of the last real monoculture moment I can think of.
SPEAKER_01Amanda Bachola. I know.
SPEAKER_02I think Bravo, like to me, Bravo's monoculture. Like that brings us all together.
SPEAKER_04I was going to say Katy Perry on the spaceship.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god, yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04My dad knew about Katy Perry, and my like little cousins knew about it.
SPEAKER_02I would also say the Coldplay concert. One year ago this week.
SPEAKER_04How do you knew that? It came up on top of Twitter.
SPEAKER_02It feels two years ago. Wow. Yeah. Right? Yeah, it was one year because I went to Coldplay after that. Yeah. It's like making notes.
SPEAKER_01Like a victimless, what do you call it?
SPEAKER_04A victimless celebrity scandal.
SPEAKER_01I love it.
SPEAKER_04It's just I guess the Coldplay wasn't a celebrity though.
SPEAKER_01But like that became monoculture scandal.
SPEAKER_04I could talk about this for so long, but I also want to know some of your backup obsessions that you pitched. Because we'll do like a little speed round of that.
SPEAKER_01Okay, roll it, roll it. Okay. Actually, Julia, I'm gonna go to our text. You guys are best friends now.
SPEAKER_04Kept sending us missives of like, oh my god, she has such a great one. Oh my god, oh my god. This is gonna be so great.
SPEAKER_01Like they were horrible. All right. I'm definitely like an 80-20 person. Like I'm like a work hard, play hard person, and I really like that as a philosophy for life. Like I really like like 80% of the time, I'm gonna eat really healthy. I'm gonna go to the gym. I'm gonna do all the things. And then like for a Saturday, I'm gonna smoke weed at like 12 p.m. and sit on my couch for the rest of the day.
SPEAKER_04You and I are made for each other.
SPEAKER_01If you want a game husband, yes, and then we'll rock.
SPEAKER_04Absolutely.
SPEAKER_01I know. I'll ask my husband if he wants a third. Great. Um quickly interesting. I am single mom now. I am really obsessed with documentaries. Like, I love documentaries. The one kind of documentary I don't like is a murder documentary. Oh, yeah. Because they drag you along. But I wanna I wanna watch The Extreme Athlete. Like, I wanna watch like the Louis Thoreau documentaries. Love fascinating.
SPEAKER_04The one about um the manosphere.
SPEAKER_01Yes. Loved it. Loved it. It was so fascinating. And it was so fascinating how that one guy, what's his name? HS, his mom, was just like yeah, like, like it's just so it's so interesting to me. Yeah, the whole manosphere. Like, oh my god. Yeah. So like how small are your dicks? Um okay. And on the documentary thing, like I really like my strange addiction. I find it fascinating. Stop. Oh, yeah. I'm obsessed with going on Zillow, but just as a voyeur, like of course well, if I move to Seattle, like and my budget was 10 million, like, yeah, I'd I'd take that. I'm like, and I'll just go in the best neighborhoods and like see what I can do.
SPEAKER_04Always doing that.
SPEAKER_02But like I'll never. I was well, Julia was looking for an apartment recently, and so is our friend Sam. And I was looking in their budget, but then when I couldn't find anything, you just go, let's just fuck it.
SPEAKER_01She can spend 10 million. That's literally what I do. I'm like, yeah, and if I got a house in the Hamptons, it would be 20 million, and this is what it would be. Yeah, like I just love it. It's so much fun to imagine like going.
SPEAKER_04We had brownstone boys off. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Their obsession was window peeping.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Which I think is hits that same kind of voyeurist. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02Literally like tripping on the sidewalk looking at it. Yeah. And then oh my shoes. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04No, I am with a joint just staring at like you.
SPEAKER_01I love that. I I will say it's really nice in our house. We just got um like uh what do you call it? You put it on the window, like sticky shades so you can see and snow. I can be naked, but nobody can see. Oh my god. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Okay, wait, let me see if I can pull up um any more.
SPEAKER_04Yes, please.
SPEAKER_01Guys, like I really struggled.
SPEAKER_04I really Were you an A plus student?
SPEAKER_01I was an A minus student.
SPEAKER_04Okay, great. I would do just enough to do well.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. Exactly. Just enough to do well. And then I was like, I don't need to do the extra credit.
SPEAKER_04I feel like 80-20 may also be your baking philosophy as well.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Like it's 80% like good ingredients, takes work, and then it's like 20% like let's do it.
SPEAKER_01It's okay. Yeah, it's okay if you put the flour in the bowl at the same time as baking soda.
SPEAKER_04Like you don't have to bake the whole, frost the whole cake. Keep it in the pan.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes, yes. You're so right.
SPEAKER_04Branding.
SPEAKER_01Next book, 8020. It really is how I apply so much. Like, I love watching like really good movies. My husband is such a cinephile. And so like he's gotten me into good movies. And like I have a very good like top 10 movie list. I go on letterbox, I do my little letterbox. But then like I will watch watch real housewives all day. And like I will like be at the bottom, yeah, like below deck obsessed. Like you know, like yeah, you need that.
SPEAKER_04If you were on below deck, which role would you play?
SPEAKER_01Oh okay. I think I would want to be a deck stew, even though it's really hard. Yes, I really like that you get a little bit of the chill stuff for the boys, but then you can come in and do hospitality. I think that the stews work so, so hard. Yes. And so like I would want a little bit of time in the sun and like a little bit of time to just like window wash. Yeah, a jet steak. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02What did Jennifer Lawrence say she wanted to? She wanted to like put her headphones in and just like do laundry.
SPEAKER_01That is such a Jennifer Lawrence take.
SPEAKER_04And that would be me as well. I'd be like, I'm going to listen to a podcast and do laundry for eight hours.
SPEAKER_02I want to boss everyone around. Yeah, your chiefs do.
SPEAKER_04We're running out of time, but we want to do a lightning round to get your takes on some more hot topics. Simply tell us obsessed or over it.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Okay.
SPEAKER_04Three, two, one.
SPEAKER_02Restaurant menus. Obsessed.
SPEAKER_04Picnics.
SPEAKER_02Obsessed. Whimsy. Obsessed.
SPEAKER_04Backpacks.
SPEAKER_02Obsessed.
SPEAKER_01Bucket hats. Over it.
SPEAKER_04Back to school commercials.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god, over it.
SPEAKER_04Over it.
SPEAKER_01Especially like they're happening already.
SPEAKER_04It's crazy.
SPEAKER_01Chill manicures. Obsessed. Tap the table, tap the table.
SPEAKER_04Ooh, that felt so good. July Leo's.
SPEAKER_01I'm a July Leo's. Oh my god. I'm obsessed.
SPEAKER_04I'm an August Leo. When are you? 8'8.
SPEAKER_01Okay, I'm 728. That's my dad's birthday. Yay! What are you gonna do? Um, so my mom's birthday is July 26th. And so we always do like a little joint birthday thing. So I'm going, she like lives in Rhode Island, so I'm going there, and we'll just be together for the week.
SPEAKER_04Did you watch Rhode?
SPEAKER_01I don't think you started Rhode Island. Did I finish it? Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I went to Pizza Mama.
SPEAKER_01Oh, wait. Let's finish this and then we're back. Date night. Oh, uh obsessed, obsessed.
SPEAKER_04Sparkling cider.
SPEAKER_01Over it.
SPEAKER_04I think it's coming back.
SPEAKER_01We already hear first. Okay, I will say. I know this is supposed to be light lightning run, but sparkling cider used to be my actual obsession when I was a kid. Like it was the only drink I wanted to drink. And I we went over to Thanksgiving at my grandfather's house, total curmudgeon, grumpy guy. We brought two sparkling ciders. And I was so obsessed with it. I drank almost a bottle and a half. And my grandfather literally went to my dad and he was like, Why would Sarah bring that over as a gift and eat and drink so much of it for herself? And my dad was like, she's a child.
SPEAKER_04Also, it's a drink for a T.
SPEAKER_01She ran for her. Like, go drink your wine. Like, go away.
SPEAKER_04We have one final question.
SPEAKER_01Okay, ready?
SPEAKER_04Three, two, one. Are you obsessed with it? Sarah. This is a dream.
SPEAKER_02This is, I mean, don't leave. We're in safety and we're doing another thing.
SPEAKER_04She's our third co-host now. Um, tell our listeners where they can follow you.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you can find me online. Broma Bakery is a handle on all different things. Bromabakery.com as well. Yes, my website.
SPEAKER_04And pick up Sweet Tooth. Yeah. It is, I'm not kidding, the like happiest bacon cookbook I've ever seen.
SPEAKER_02I don't know where to start.
SPEAKER_04Mine is covered in crap because I do it. That's what I want. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_01I love it.
SPEAKER_04Specifically, your last section about individual desserts.
SPEAKER_01All dessert for one.
SPEAKER_04And if you're a little pothead like me, it'll be broken. You will be the spine will be broken right here. It's so good.
SPEAKER_01Guys, thank you so much for so well. Thank you.
