I am a little late in wishing a famous Kentucky Soda a big Happy Birthday. It turned 100 years old back on July 13th.

Hello, and welcome back to another episode. I am so excited to be talking about this. I am putting this episode out as is because I forgot about a very important birthday. Yes, this is a very important birthday. If you are a Kentuckian, I can't believe I missed it. I feel like I have a lot of words to say of how did I forget about this? And I have consumed this beverage quite a bit when I was younger. And it's a very big birthday for this so-called beverage of swords for Kentucky. And that is LA1. I can't believe it turned a hundred years old. I didn't realize it's been around for this long of a time. And I consider L81 the most American drink you can drink here in Kentucky, and that anybody can consume it. If you're gonna experience Kentucky, you have to have an L81. And it's one of those things I tell out-of-staters, you gotta experience L81. It doesn't matter what type of LA1 you have, there's a Kajillion flavors you can try. I have had several different flavors of LA wine, and some of the flavors I have thoroughly enjoyed of the LA1 variety. Of course, I love the original. You can't go wrong with original. The peach flavor was amazing. If you never got to experience the peach flavor, that was really good. The blackberry one was okay, not my favorite. I really loved the cherry, but I am a cherry girly as it is. I love cherry-flavored stuff, so no wonder I liked the cherry. Now the pawpaw fruit. If y'all remember the pawpaw fruit flavor and how hard it was to get the pawpaw fruit flavor, you will know it was really good because pawpaw fruit is native to Kentucky, which it was only fitting to be put in a native soda to Kentucky. So it's really cool to see the roots of LA come to be. Some people don't like LA, but I liked LA when I was drinking soda. Always enjoyed when I get a LA soda when I was younger, and I still splurge every now and then on an LA, not all the time. I don't remember the last time I had an LA. I think the last time I had an LA was when the Pawpaw fruit one came out. Yeah. And I still have the bottle from it too, which is pretty amazing. It's almost like there's always that one bottle of LA you will save after you drink it. And that was the bottle I decided to save as one of those mementos you can look back on and tell stories about. Because they're one of the very few soda brands that has still stayed in glass bottles because most soda brands have gone canned. LA does do cans, they do do fountain, but they are very well known for their bottles, and that's what makes them very unique to Kentucky. I'm proud to say happy birthday to L81. You have played a very big part of my life when socializing with other others and seeing how well it represents Kentucky. Because when I went off to college, that was the one drink my Wesley Center, which I am very much a part of and is a big part of me during my college years. We always made sure we had coffee in LA and water because we all felt to get the full Kentucky experience, you had to have an L81. So I am wishing L8 a very happy birthday, and congrats on Turning 100. I can't wait to see what the next 100 years brings to the company. I hope everyone in the world gets to experience the amazingness of L81. And I'm sorry I'm late to wishing you a very happy birthday. And I'm gonna recommend for this year that if you're listening to this episode and you're able to get an L81, please go try it. Try the original and try one of the fruity flavors they have. I know there was a gas station that did do LA1 slushies at one time. That was a very big banger. I don't know if they are still doing that, but this is a quick episode, and I am wishing L81 a happy birthday because L81 is a very big part of pop culture, and if I think of a American soda for me, and and you can ask any Kentuckian this question, that's what they're gonna say is L81. Because L81 touches everyone around Kentucky in some way and manner. I never knew a place that didn't have L8 that was locally owned, and that I see it everywhere. So happy birthday, L8. I've said it a million times, but you need to hear it a million times because you you're an amazing brand, and I can't wait to see where you guys will be going in the next hundred or more years, and that you deserve to be in a museum now that you are officially 100 years old and seeing how your label has changed over the years. And I will see you next time. Bye.
