We are a congregation of believers committed to sharing the message of Christ and guiding others towards faith in Him. As a church, we aim to love those in our community with the same love Christ has given to us. The work of our church is aimed at directing others towards the Savior in the hopes that they will encounter the one true God and be transformed by His gracious love for them. Through all we do, say, and preach, we pray that we will shine the light of Christ to all those we encounter.

- Today WE Talk About Meekness
- - Three things definitely stand out when examining meekness
- - One is that it is a very rare quality of character
- - Two, it is exceptionally precious in the sight of God
- - Three, it is probably the most challenging feature in the teaching of the fruit of the Spirit
- - Meekness is not to be confused with weakness
- - That is why meekness needs to be defined very carefully
- - A lot of people compare the word meekness with weakness, but their difference is massive
- - Real meekness requires great strength of character
I'm gonna ask that you rest on your feet. We're gonna get right to it. We are We're almost complete with the fruit of the spirit. And so today we're talking about meekness. Um and I I pray we I'm able to break that down for you. Um if you if you have a pen, you probably it's a lot of scriptures. Um you probably want to write these down because there's probably some places in the Bible that you have not investigated uh prior to today, amen. Because these are some of these scriptures are not um, you know, this is not something we look at um on a daily basis. And so uh I want you to be able to write these things down so you can go back and study it for yourself. Amen. I want you to go back and look and see what the word says. Amen. But this is a uh strong topic today. Galatians, you know where we're going. Galatians 5, 22, 23. Amen. Reuben, you you come down here and uh bring that young man with you. You you know the man sitting on the front and stop playing. Uh, Dale, what you doing? Hallelujah. All right, all right, all right. Shandell, what you doing? You already know.
unknownAmen.
SPEAKER_00Ain't no way you're gonna be 6'4 and I can't see you. Amen, amen. All right. That's right. Come on here, James Robert. Amen. Bring him with you. Bring your mini me. That's right. That's right. He looks just like his daddy and his granddaddy. Amen. Galatians 5, 22. Joe, you sitting back there. Mark, you sitting back there. I don't know what y'all waiting on. There's room up here in the front. Galatians 5, 22, 23. I'm reading from the King James Version, and then I'm gonna transfer over to the New King James Version. Look what it says. Um, and we should know it by heart by now. But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. Against such there is no law. Now, when you read it from the New King James Version, it says, but the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness. So meekness and gentleness are synonymous. Okay. Uh self-control is the same thing as temperance. Against such there is no law. Lord, have your way with us on today. This is a part of the fruit of the spirit that we all need to operate in the kingdom and to be successful in doing your will. Place this in us. There's nothing we can do outwardly without having that meekness on the inside. Thank you for your love and for your kindness on today. Thank you for your people that are here. And whoever has something on their mind, that they're thinking about something, wondering about something, that they're struggling with something, Lord. I'm asking that you touch them right now in the name of Jesus. Let them know that everything is better than okay. That they're more than conquerors in you. So, Lord, have your way with us and through us, strengthen us right now, Lord, like never before. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Thank God. Amen. And amen. You may be seated in the presence of the Lord. Meekness. Before I begin talking about meekness, I want to say that Galatians is one of the epistles written by Paul the apostle. Amen. I believe he wrote a total of eleven books. The overall theme of Galatians is that there is freedom in Christ through faith, not works of the law. Amen. And so those of us that are living in this day and age should understand that if you have Jesus, that you are free in him. Amen. Amen. And we're gonna talk about what the law is. Uh if you don't know about Galatians, there's a total of six chapters in the book of Galatians. And specifically concerning chapters five and six, Paul provides some practical instructions on Christian living, uh, encouraging believers to conduct their lives by the Spirit and not be pinned down by the law. Paul goes on to argue very strongly that the law cannot justify anyone because obedience must be complete, making faith in Christ the only means of righteousness. And so, to break it down real simply, in other words, the church then was living by a set of rules and regulations that outwardly uh helped them to look like they were saved. But inwardly, they were really messed up and not following the will of God. And so we can come in here and take communion, we can wash each other's feet, we can get baptized, we can run around and dance, we can shout, we can sing unto the glory of God. But if your heart is not right, you you just a clanging symbol, you just making noise, you just copying somebody else that actually got it down on the inside. And so I don't want you to think that I'm on your head, but I'm gonna tell you the truth, amen. That uh it's time out for us just playing church. Hallelujah. There has to be a time and place where uh the people of God begin to operate when nobody else is around. When nobody else is looking at you, when it's just you and God and you on a job, you at home, you know, walking in the park, whatever your wherever your location is, it's a time for us to have, amen, the fruit of the spirit on display every single day of our life. Amen. Check out what Paul says at the top of chapter 5 in Galatians. Chapter 5, verse 1. Look at he says, Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled with a yoke of bondage. Indeed, verse 2, I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised. Now, let me pause right there. Circumcision was the means by which they were identified. Amen. That if they were circumcised, they were identified as children of God. That primary was the only way for them to be identified as the children of God. Amen. It goes on to say in verse 2 Christ will profit you nothing. In other words, if you follow the law and trying to follow Jesus, Jesus is not serving no purpose in your life. Hallelujah. Verse 3, and I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law. You have become estranged from Christ. You who attempt to be justified by the law. In other words, carrying out those ceremonial moral things that outwardly say that I'm saved, but inwardly you steal toe-up from the flow up. Amen. It says, it goes on to say in verse 4, you have become estranged from Christ. You who attempt to be justified by the law, you have fallen from grace. For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. For in Christ Jesus, hallelujah, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything but faith working through love. And so ultimately what he's conveying here, Paul is saying, I don't care if you circumcised or not. The question is whether or not you got Jesus down on the inside. Hallelujah. He says it don't make no difference. It ain't gonna change nothing, the fact that you are circumcised, amen. And understand that circumcision in this day and age, amen, in that day and age, rather, simply meant that yes, you were a child of the king. Um, Paul goes on in verse 11 of the same chapter. He says, and I, brethren, um, if I still preach circumcision, why do I still suffer persecution? In other words, if I'm circumcised and identified as a child of God, why am I still going through? Why do I still have problems? My God, then the offense of the cross has ceased. I could wish that those who trouble you would even cut themselves off. Verse 13, for you, brethren, have been called to liberty. Amen. If you don't have freedom in Jesus, you need to check your salvation. I didn't say everything had to be perfect, but what I am saying is that when the chips hit the ground, I'm still freeing Jesus. In other words, uh, whether I'm up or I'm down is not according to our feel. Um, it's understanding that I got Jesus down on the inside, and I can be double negative in my bank account, but I still have Jesus. Amen. People can talk about me, but I still have Jesus. I'm not worried about nothing or nobody because uh down on the inside I still have Jesus. Amen. It's Jesus in the morning, Jesus in the noonday, Jesus in the midnight hour. I got Jesus all day long. Hallelujah. No matter what it looks like on the outside, no matter how I feel down in my body, I always will always have Jesus. You brethren, verse 13, have been called to liberty. Only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh. In other words, because you're free, and Jesus does not give you license to go act like you lost your mind. Hallelujah. But through love, serve one another. We can preach that all by itself. That if you save, you serve. Hallelujah. If you're not saved, then you don't serve. But maybe, but if you save, you for sure serve. Amen. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this. Verse 14. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another. This speaks directly to how we treat each other. That if we talk about each other, not only are we devouring the person we're talking about, we're actually devouring ourselves. In other words, so you are no better than the person you're talking about. Come on, man. Right? There are some of us, right, uh, that when we talk about somebody, we put on an air like we're better than them. Look at your neighbor and say, neighbor, you ain't better than nobody.
unknownNobody.
SPEAKER_00Hallelujah. And then Paul goes on. Now we jump over to, we're gonna jump back and forth real quick, but now we look at Galatians 6 and Paul, he says a few more things, but then I landed on this. Look what he says, 6 and 13 through 15. For not even those who are circumcised keep the law. Those that have been saved 30 years, they still tripping. Right? But they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh. In other words, uh let me let me let me make this right. And this is why the Church of Jesus Christ is always evolving. The message doesn't change, but the way in which we treat each other should always evolve to something greater than ourselves. Because what this is telling us, hallelujah, is that it doesn't matter whether or not we keep the tradition as long as you saved. I know I know that's gonna fall tough on some people, amen. Listen to what I'm saying. Look what it says. That was a tradition, that was a ceremonial thing that they did, that when they got circumcised, there were those that have gone through that and they still not saved. That's why we tell people that before you get baptized, don't think you get baptized just for the sake of being baptized. Baptism by itself does not save you. Hallelujah, because you can be a devil above the water, be a devil coming out the water. Hallelujah. Amen. Baptism by itself does not save you. Baptism is an outward sign of an inward confession of your heart. And so if you still live an unholy life, once you get baptized, you are not saying to anybody that you are saved. You are actually lying in Jesus' face. Oh, wait, wait, where are we at? But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me and I to the world. For in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything but a new creation. In other words, uh the only thing that matters is are you new in Jesus? That's the only thing, amen. And then you see that ramm me back to Galatians 5, 16 through 19. He says, I say then, walk in the spirit. Hallelujah. Amen. And you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Look at this, look at this. For the flesh lusts against the spirit, amen. In other words, there's a war in your body all the time. You always going through something, amen. You always fighting against here. Let me tell you what you're fighting against. Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm. Hallelujah. And the spirit against the flesh, and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident. In other words, you can see them. They are there. They are right before your eyes. What are they? They are adultery, fornication. Look at this, my God, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousy, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like, of which I tell you beforehand, just as I told you in time past. But, but, but, but, but, but, but, hallelujah, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God, and then comes right after it, Galatians 5.22, but the fruit of the spirit. So there's a direct contradiction that if you are operating in those things that the works of the flesh, you cannot work the fruit of the spirit. And if you notice, there's a whole much more, less of the flesh, then it is fruit of the spirit. Amen. Especially where it says in verse 20 hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath. We call that just giving somebody, keeping it 100 with them. I'ma tell them how I feel. Hold up. Selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies. Stop lying. Stop quoting stuff you heard on TikTok and Instagram. Envy, murders, drunkenness. Drunkenness also include getting high. It don't say that passing. It's the same thing. You need another job, baby. They're getting high in elementary. Check your kids' backpack. And the thing that's crazy, let me park for a minute just let me talk about that. Help some of you parents out. Weed is not the same now as it was 20 years ago. There's at least 23 more ingredients in weed now than it was 20 years ago. In other words, it is laced with a whole bunch of stuff they don't know about. They have concentrated it and put it into a very pen that your child can order on Instagram without you knowing about it. You will never know that your child is smoking unless they get caught in school. And I'm catching them, Lord Jesus. The message all is contained, is that the fruit of the spirit represents the character traits produced in believers through the Holy Ghost. And so when you say you have the Holy Ghost, what you're saying is that your fruit, amen, your life is going to produce the fruit of the Spirit, which is from through the Holy Ghost. The fruit of the spirit is in direct contrast with the works of the flesh. It goes directly against us and shows us the transformative power of living in the spirit. The reason this excites me right here, and I gotta remain calm because I need to give it to you flat foot is that if you get saved and the Holy Ghost fills you up, one day you can be full of the works of the flesh, and by the next day, God could be operating. That's the only transformation I understand that works for the good of the people. Amen. I don't that there are no self-help books that could help you do that. There is nothing on a social media platform that can help you transform like that. It's only through the blood of Jesus Christ and the acceptance and the acceptance of the gift of the Holy Ghost that you are able to change overnight. The change is so fast that people who knew you only refer to your history of what you used to be. Is there anybody out there that when people see you, all they talk about is what you used to do? They don't even know that God has changed your life, amen. Today, amen. And all you do with the meekness that's in you is say, God did it. Amen. God did it. Yeah, that was me. I was messed up. Um, I was towed up. I am. I've been through some things, but God did it. God brought me from a mighty long way, amen. And that mighty long way was yesterday, amen. That mighty long way was 12 hours ago. That mighty long way was this morning when I got up out of bed. God absolutely did it. Hallelujah. And since I made it here, I don't have no better sense but to give God some praise because God did it. Look at two or three people around you and tell them God did it. God did it. Um, I was a wretch undone. I was messed up, I was told up, amen. I was doing some things that was unholy, uh, but God did it. He wrestled me to the ground, he strengthened me, he brought me out from hallelujah, and and and and and God absolutely did it, hallelujah. I don't even understand how he did it, but he did it.
unknownHallelujah.
SPEAKER_00God did it. Hallelujah. When I say God did it, I'm not playing with you. God did it. Hallelujah. I I know, and I know some of y'all ain't playing with me. God did it. You don't even understand how you came out of that situation, but you knew God did it. You could probably pinpoint the time and place that it happened, but the fact that it happened, you can't even explain it because God did it. Hallelujah. When God brings you out, hallelujah, you feel a relief, you feel lighter, you feel renewed, you feel regenerated when God does it for you. You feel like your sins have been forgiven. You know that God loves you. Hallelujah. See, because before, when you were going through, you couldn't see your way out. Now you got hope in a hopeless situation. In the name of Jesus, you are the sword of the earth, you the light on top of a hill. God has done it. Is there anybody that can celebrate that God did it for them? You shouldn't be quiet if God did it for you. Hallelujah. You want to tap yourself and say, God did it, God brought me out, God did it, God did it, God did it, God did it, God did it. That's a complete sentence. God did it. Hallelujah. That's all you need to tell somebody is God did it.
unknownHallelujah.
SPEAKER_00Hallelujah. Yes, Lord. Oh, sit down. I got a little bit more. We're gonna be finished. I ain't gonna be too long. Yes, sir. So when we talk about meekness, there are three things that stand out. One thing is it's a rare quality. Everybody don't have it. It's rare. And I'm explaining. Two is that that quality is precious to God. I'm gonna show you that. Three, is it's probably the most challenging gift of the spirit to work with. Let me make it clear for you. Meekness is not to be confused with weakness. When you say meekness, you are not telling somebody that you're weak. Hallelujah. Right. Because the difference between the two words is massive. It's huge. Real meekness requires great strength of character. Hallelujah. In other words, because you're meek, you can take something. Moses was a meek man. And remember, I told you we're gonna see some scriptures that you may not have seen before. Here's a little bit of it. Numbers 12, verses 2 through 9. So they said, this is the grievance committee. This is where Moses' brother and sister begin to start tripping on Moses because Moses was called to lead God's people. So look at verse 2. So they they being Aaron and Miriam. Grievance Committee. Everybody got some grievance committee members in their family.
unknownAmen.
SPEAKER_00In other words, they always complaining. They always say, Amen, hallelujah. Y'all that you try not to nod your head because you're sitting right next to a grievance committee member on today. Amen. Amen. Amen. And so look what they said in verse 2. So they said, has the Lord He spoken only through Moses? Hallelujah. Right, right. Has He not spoken through us also? And the thing is, the part of that verse, amen, at the end of it says, and the Lord heard it. Let me tell you something. Y'all better stop talking about God's people. Amen. Because the Lord hears it. You better keep your mouth off of God's people. Because the Lord hears it. Amen. And I don't have to worry about defending myself because when you mess with me, you are actually getting God's attention. Hallelujah. Do I have any of God's people? That you don't have to defend yourself. Amen. I'm trying not to stay right there, but it's something about the fact that when you say something about God's leaders, the Lord hears it. Look at verse 3. If I was a betting man, I would wager that most of us have never seen this scripture. Now the man Moses was very humble. More than all men who were on the face of the earth. Look at look at the reason I couldn't just read that scripture to you, because I need you to understand the whole story at that particular time. Look what's happening. Suddenly the Lord said to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam, Come out, you three, to the tabernacle. In other words, come out of here. I want to talk to you. You didn't got my attention talking about the man I chose to lead you all across this Red Sea. Y'all ain't saying nothing back to me. So the three came out. Then the Lord came down in a pillar of cloud and stood in the door of the tabernacle and called Aaron and Miriam, and they both went forward. Then he said this. Hear my words now. In other words, don't look to the left or the right. I'm talking to you. If there is a prophet, I the Lord make myself known to him in a vision. I speak to him in a dream. And it went like this with Moses. He is faithful in all of my. Why are you talking about you? So did the Bible say that's why I love Bible stories. So the anger of the Lord. Y'all think God can't get mad with you? Y'all better be careful playing with God. Uh-huh. Some of y'all playing around with God. You better be careful how you treat God. You better be careful how you treat his grace and mercy. You better be careful how you treat his love. You better be careful how you treat him as he's dealing with you. Some of y'all got grace and mercy, and you acting like it's a carte blanche card for you to go out and act like you done lost your mind. You better be careful. So the anger, look what happens. Look how look how powerful God is. I want you to see something now. Look, look, look, look. So the anger of the Lord was aroused against them, those two. And he departed. Look at the power God leaves behind. Watch this. And when the cloud departed, when his presence left, he left judgment among Miriam. It says, when the cloud departed from above the tabernacle, suddenly, not over a week. Right then, Miriam became leprous. As white as snow. Then Aaron turned around, turned toward Miriam, and there she was a leopard. Because she ran her mouth about God's leader. Now, Moses didn't have to say nothing. But understand this. Watch this. He was meek. He could take it when it was about him. But he could also be firm and straight. Well, Pastor, how do you know that? You read your Bible, you'll find out. Exodus 32 and 20. After they had made the golden calf, he was so upset with him. Look what happened. Then he took the calf which they had made, burned it in fire, and ground it to powder. But that ain't that ain't the end of it. And he scattered it on the water and made the children of Israel drink it. You sure you want to play with God? You sure? You want to make some molten images? You want to make some idolatrous images? Burn their calf and made them drink the gold spread out over the water. Because you're playing with God. Here it is, God just delivered you. And you run in your mouth about what God is. In terms of a form. God ain't no calf. He made the calf. Moses was like that when it came to God. Let me ask you all a question. You might let other people talk about you, but can't anybody talk about your God to you? Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. When his name was reproached, he took it. But when you start talking about my God, I got a problem with you. Same thing happened with Stephen. Uh-huh. Stephen was stoned to death. And it says in Acts 760, this is why you gotta read your Bible. Some of y'all even know there were 60 verses in a chapter. Acts is a historical book of the church. Look what it says. Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice Lord, do not charge them with this sin. And when he had said this, he fell asleep. So the last thing he asked for was mercy on the people that killed him. But then Acts 7 and 51, Stephen goes hard. Right? For the Lord. You stiff neck. Uncircumcised. In heart. Look what he says. He doesn't say in the flesh. He says uncircumcised in the heart. So they might have been circumcised in the flesh, but their heart hadn't been changed. And this is what God is talking about. It's time for us to stop being circumcised outwardly and be circumcised in the heart. There has to be some type of change that is evident in your life when you're living for the Lord.
unknownHallelujah.
SPEAKER_00Boy, y'all looking at me hard. You ain't going to hell as long as you're breathing. You better get this thing right. Look at your neighbor and say, neighbor, you better get it right. You better get it right. For they know not what they do. But at the beginning of the week, when he came into Jerusalem on a donkey. See, when a king rides in on a donkey, when he rode in on a donkey, he was showing his kingship. He was showing the people that he's actually king in the spirit realm and he's king by decree because his bloodline made him naturally king. But they didn't want to accept that. So when he comes in, now he gets upset with the people of God because in the church they are selling things, amen, to get ready for the Passover. Hallelujah. Y'all ain't saying nothing back to me. Hallelujah. Y'all, we can go buy Easter suits all day long. We can give Easter baskets all day long. Amen. We can do all of that stuff, but if your heart is not right, you are simply playing with God. Amen. What do you mean, Pastor? It's harmless. No, it's not. It's not harmless because you don't understand the foundation of Easter. It's really by some type of goddess that was for sex infertility that the Easter egg hunt went forth. Y'all ain't saying that back to me. And we celebrate that every year. It's harmless, Pastor. It's harmless. No, there are certain things you can't play with with God because He considers it disrespectful to even go along with it. My children, when they was coming up, you can ask Janae. And if you see Isaiah, you can ask him too. They weren't allowed to celebrate Halloween, amen. When they went to school and they had a parade, I told my children, tell your teacher they cannot celebrate Halloween. Amen. And so they got used to it. I remember Janae was in about the fifth or the sixth grade, and she came home and she said, Dad, I told my teacher I don't celebrate Halloween. I just looked at her and said, That's right. That's what it is, amen. Because we're not playing. God has been too good to me and to my family. He has brought Janae through. He has brought Isaiah through. He has kept my wife up. He has kept my house for me to be playing around with something that celebrates the devil. I'm not doing that in my house. I don't even give away candy. Amen. If I want Amara to have some candy, I go buy Amara some candy on another day other than October the 31st.
unknownAmen.
SPEAKER_00What Jesus did was when he comes into the city and he's witnessing now, right? He sees what's going on, and after about a day or two, he sees what's going on in the courtyard, which is actually the church. It is the church where the church is located that he sees now that it has become a marketplace. Uh-huh. Now they are buying and selling things that they shouldn't be doing in the church house, amen. And he comes over and starts turning tables over and whooping folks right where they were because he was tired of people doing God's house wrong. Amen. That's why I don't allow us to just have a swap meet up in here. We just can't do uh anything. There's a reason I don't want the Spirit of the Lord coming in here and tearing this place up because we up in here selling all types of stuff, amen. If we're gonna raise the money, then give it. Look at your neighbors, say just give it. If we're gonna raise this money, give it, amen. If you got a business, you ought to give a percentage to the church, amen. But somehow, somehow, we're not doing uh that, amen. When we come into the church, can you imagine coming into the church, the church where you worship uh and along the walls with all types of vendors uh and they selling every type of thing uh and you come into the same place where you were shouting uh now you can buy a two for one? Something is wrong with that picture. We can't just do God's house any old type of way. We have to be uh about God's business. It's okay. It's alright. Bubs, you alright? Where Bubs at? You good? Alright. That boy can play some baseball. We gotta go see him. Baseball season started yet. Oh my god. What grade you in? Oh, we're gonna be there for seeing you because you're gonna get drafted. Um yeah, the boy can hit. The boy can hit. The boy can hit. Got a sweet swing. The natural. Amen. In short, meekness is a condition of the spirit. Amen? 1 Peter 3 and 4. Rather let it be the hidden person of the heart. With the uncorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious, look at that. In the sight of God. The fact that you can hold your peace and let the Lord fight your battles is precious in the sight of God. But if the heart does not feel gentleness, if it is not meek inwardly, then you got fire, anger, and pride is gonna come out sooner or later. That's why I don't do a whole bunch of talking. I just watch how people act. What's in you is gonna come out of you. It will show up. How you really are. Amen? Human hearts are like the soil, and their condition determines the result of their sowing. So how your heart is determines how well you are blessed. Way more than the fact that you can sow. Because it's a blessing from God. And how your heart is determines how well God blesses you. Amen. Meekness is laying down of all rebellion in spirit and a readiness to obey at any cost what may be proved to be the sincere milk of the word. In other words, I believe God more than I believe you. Yes, Lord. James 3 and 13, who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. So how you act lets us know whether or not you're meek.
unknownWow.
SPEAKER_00We got some folk in here, love to run their mouth. All you do is talk and I'm just okay, okay, okay. See, because true wisdom is discernible by humility. Right. By how humble you are. Paul tells Timothy that he is to instruct, correct those that oppose themselves with meekness, especially with the older men and women. I've never seen a generation of people, of children, that can cuss adults out. Hallelujah. And while we want to, right, knock them upside their head for treating adults wrong. Amen. We don't do that. But the Bible speaks against that. Look at 1 Timothy 5, verse 1 and 2. Do not rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father. In other words, figure out how to approach him about what's wrong. Younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, younger women as sisters with all purity. In other words, we are not to lord over God's people. It is not on me to lord over those that are older than me. What looks like pointing my finger at the mother's board for something that I can simply say, hey mamas, what's going on? I'm not gonna lord over them just because my dad was pastor. It does not give me the right to go crazy to people because I'm the leader of the judge. Who do you think you are talking crazy? How we treat one another, regardless of your title! Your title of a man!
unknownThat's right.
SPEAKER_00It's a no repute! I don't care! How I treat you as a man or a woman, especially if you're older than me, I got to do it right. I got to do it right. I let me tell you, I know more than you think I know. Don't trip. The fact that I ain't said nothing to you yet don't mean I don't know. I know some of y'all dirty as dirt underneath a shoe.
unknownMy God.
SPEAKER_00Thank you, Jesus. So, beloved, the Spirit is calling us back to the beauty of meekness, not weakness, but power under submission. James 1 and 21. Receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your soul. That means the word doesn't fully work in us until pride gets out the way. You can read the Bible all you want, but if pride don't get out your way, it ain't gonna never work. Hallelujah. You just reading a book. If you don't allow that pride to get out of the way, a hard heart cannot hold a holy seed. But a meek spirit becomes fertile ground for transformation. My God. And when the word asks us plainly uh in James 3 and 13, uh, who is a wise man and indued with knowledge among you, let him not prove it with noise, not with titles, uh, not with display, but out of a good conversation, his works with meekness of wisdom. True anointing, don't shout for you. When you anoint it, you ain't gotta say nothing. It shows up all by yours, though. It shows up in how you walk. How you speak how you treat people when no one is watching. That's meekness in action. Honor, restraint, humility, and love governing every interaction. But hear this meekness is not only a calling, it carries a promise. Psalms 22 and 26. The meek shall eat and be satisfied. In other words, my pantry ain't gonna never be empty. Hallelujah. In other words, God will provide spiritually and naturally until your soul is full. That's enough to shout all by itself. You won't leave empty when you walk in meekness. The meek, he will guide in judgment, and the meek will he teach his way. So if you are meek in spirit, you know more than people think you know, but you don't have to say nothing.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00That's why people always ask you, how are you so calm? I know a couple things, but you don't even have to say that. See, it understand this. When you humble yourself, God becomes your teacher.
unknownYes, Lord. Amen. Amen. Yes, you know.
SPEAKER_00And you go from being lost to being led. Because God now becomes your teacher. Because you have humbled yourself before Him. So He takes you on as a student.
unknownYes, Lord. Thank you, Jesus.
SPEAKER_00That shout, that shout. Yes, sir. Hallelujah. When you do it God's way, you are allowed to enroll in His school. Y'all ain't saying nothing back to me. When you do it God's way, he takes you on. And he teaches you. Now, whatever He teaches you, He's gonna take you through it, but He's not gonna allow it to kill you. And that's why we give God glory because God is our teacher. To the meek in spirit, God is our everything, and He governs us and leads us and shows us what to do. And there are people out there who don't have that spirit of meekness, don't understand how God is working in our lives. You don't know what I've been through to receive that spirit of meekness. I learned how to keep my mouth shut. I used to be able to cuss you out, but I had to back up from that and say, Lord, you fight my battles. Lord, you have your way. Whatever it is you need to say about me, you can say it. But the thing that I can't play with is when they're talking about you. Meekness is not optional, y'all. It is evidence of the spirit at work. Some of us treat it like look, the fruit of the spirit, you gotta have all the fruit. Work to get all the fruit. It's the only tree I know of that can produce multiple fruit. That means it's better than the orange tree, it's better than the apple tree, it's better than the strawberry vine. You produce all fruit. But the fruit of the spirit is. And then the next eight to nine things, all of those are evidence of the fruit. How you carry wisdom. How we carry one another. It matters. Meekness comes with a divine reward. Comes with provision, guidance, kingdom inheritance. So today, lay down arrogance. Crucify harshness. Right? You mad because they did you a certain way. It'd be easy for you to go off. Shut your mouth. You don't never say nothing mad. You calm down and then you say what you gotta say in meekness. Let us ask the Holy Ghost to clothe us in meekness so the word can live in us. Wisdom can flow through us, and Christ be seen on us. When you operate in meekness. Lift up your hands right now, brothers and sisters. Everybody standing on your feet, we do.
