Jesus taught some powerful lessons, but we are going to deal with some things that had me scratching my head for years because I didn't understand. What are we talking about? We are talking about when Jesus is teaching about belief or unbelief. No, we be dealing with it now. See if you go to Mark chapter nine, verse 24, and we'll get back to the whole story. When he says, and straight away, the father of the child cried out and said with tears, Lord, I believe help thou my unbelief. That confused me for many years. But we gonna get the whole story 'cause we are talking about faith. In believing faith in your unbelief. Faith without faith, you cannot do anything when it comes to God. Let's get into the whole story. Jesus came down from the mountain of transfiguration and he is. Wondering what is the big commotion that's going on? So we start with verse 14 of Mark nine, and when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them and the scribes questioning with them and straight away, all the people when they beheld him, were greatly amazed and running to him, saluted him. And he said, he asked the scribe what question you with them? He said, why are you questioning my disciples? And one of the multitude answered and said, master, I have brought unto the my son, which has a dumb spirit it, and whatsoever he pickens him, he tears him and he form. Gas with his teeth and pitted away, and I spoke by disciples that they should cast him out and they could not. He answered him. And said, oh, faithless generation. Don't miss that. Now what? Oh, faithless generation. How long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer? You bring him unto me. Oh, Jesus, about to do something now. And it brought him unto him. And when he saw him straight away, the spirit tear of him, and he fell on the ground. And he asked his father, how long is it again? No, he said, how long is it ago? Since this came unto him? And he said, of a child. Now before we go any further, I want you to realize now the mother's not here. Can you imagine having a child that's going through that, what it does to a mother? Sometimes people leave because it's too much to bear, but the father's there and oftentimes he has cast him into fire and into water to destroy him. But if, do Kenneth, do anything? Have compassion on us and help us. As Jesus said unto him, if thou Kenneth believe all things are possible to him that believe us, and straight away the Father, the child cried out and said with tears, Lord, I believe help thou my unbelief. That's disturbed me for many years. But we going on. And when Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit saying unto him, thou dumb and deaf spirit. I charged Dee come out of him and into no more into him and the spirit cried and read him sore and came out of him and he was as one dead in so much. That many said he is dead. But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up and he arose. And when he would come into the house, the disciples asked him privately, why could not. We cast him out and he said unto them, this kind came forth. By nothing, but by prayer and fasting. We are talking about faith. Now let's just deal with this word belief. The word belief is accept something as true. Feel sure of the truth. But this word belief is trust. Faith or confidence in someone or something. See, first of all, faith is something we think everybody has. Here's my reality, it isn't. Now you're saying, well, you mean it is either half a again, but it's not something that's normal. If you go to Galatians chapter five, verse five, he says, for we through the spirit, wait for the hope of righteousness. What? By faith. Galatians 5 22, watch what? Watch this now. But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, love, suffering. Jt in his goodness, faith, faith comes through the spirit. And he, he, the man realized his son is suffering, but he also realized he doesn't have enough faith. Yes, he believes, but faith is that thing that moves God and he recognized, I don't have it, so help me with my unbelief. What he's saying is, help me with my faith. There's a lot of people today. They want God to move, but they don't have no faith. We can't operate because that fuel moves God. See, for a long time I never understood that. I thought most people just got faith. No, they don't. That's what drives God. He said, you have to believe that I am, that I am. Because if you don't believe that I am, I'm not doing it. Why? There's no need. You don't believe me. Anyway, so I want you to just think about this real quick because like I told you for many years, this bothered me. I was like, well, the man came from some place and he brought his son to Jesus. He, you would think he had faith know he he, he knew something needed to be done and he did it. But when he got there he realized, okay, I need something more. So who do I need to ask? I gotta ask God. See, this is the thing that most people need to start understanding. If you don't have what you need, you gotta do it. God for that. And that's what the man did. He said, help me with my unbelief. It's been many times we wanna be healed, but we don't ask. God, help me with our, with my unbelief. There are many times that I look at this man and this woman's situation with this child who's been possessed with a demon. See, right there, it tells you the child couldn't ascend why he was a child, so the sin had to come through the mother or the father. That's what makes this so deep to really understand. The mother's not there. Why? Mother would not be there with the husband to help the child. Somebody who probably had to leave, somebody who probably left. But most people never even look at the story of where's the woman, the father's trying? Every time he looks around, the spirit is throwing him in the fire or throwing him in the water, trying to kill the child. Now if you really ready to go for. Why this child? Because this child's gonna turn to be great one day, so the spirit is trying to kill him, but Jesus already got a plan. Sometimes you go through some things that you don't see other people go through and you don't understand why, or you'll see somebody go through things that other people don't go through, and you don't understand why. Because when God got a plan, he said, I gotta get you. Oh, I gotta allow you to go through some things so you can help somebody else that is not as strong as you. I gotta allow you to see some things that most people don't get to see because I need to show them, even in the darkest moment, there's a light. Even in the midst of not understanding why you have to go through, I need you to understand that you was just going through. I always go back to the story when you're driving and this a beautiful day. All of a sudden you a cloud way in the front of you and you're driving, and you're driving and you're driving, and eventually a couple drops of water hit your windshield, and then it's like a downpour. And then you look around and most of the cars pull on the side of the road and put their flashes on. And I keep on driving. I slow down, but I keep on driving. Why? Because the storm that you're going through is only for a period of time, and if you stop, you stay in the storm. But if you keep going, you get through the storm much quicker. That's what happens with a lot of people. They stop in the storm and the storm goes on. It should have only last maybe a couple minutes, but it lasts for hours and days. Why? Because in life, that's how we view time. You should have went through the storm of your life in only a couple of minutes or a couple of hours, but yet they go through it five years, 10 years. You hear, you see the same person, and it's 20, 30 years later and they said, how you doing? I'm in the same storm. Wow. He should have been in and out of the storm, but yet. You stop moving. That's all God want us to do. He said, keep moving. Why keep moving in the spirit? Keep allowing me to change you so we can move through the storm. So this whole story of belief and unbelief is showing us, you say you can believe something, but they didn't necessarily mean you got the spiritual faith. To push you through what you believe in. Can you imagine once Jesus cast that spirit out of that young man, he's no longer in bondage. He's no longer trying to kill himself, or the spirit is trying to kill him. See, everything is not physical. Some things. Spiritual, and I wanted to share that today because I think that's where a lot of people at today, they allow spiritual things to happen to them and they don't know how to get out because they try to deal with it physically and it's a spiritual problem. But once we understand, then we can move forward with understanding. This is. For God, and he says this disciple says, well, why couldn't we do it? Uh, y'all didn't fast in prayer. Jesus always was fasting and praying. Disciples didn't do that. They didn't learn to fast and pray until after Jesus left. That's how powerful the word of God is. It is all about faith. If you wanna move thing in the spiritual realm, you have to have the faith of God, but you also have to have the spirit of God. I hope you enjoy hearing the word of God.
