Building A Holy Home: Purposeful Motherhood Without The Scroll
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
What if the cure for feeling stretched thin is not doing more, but creating with purpose? We open our hearts about the pull of distraction, the weight of endless scrolling, and the quiet power of building peace at home. From the kitchen table to bedtime routines, we explore how simple acts become sacred when they serve the people we love and reflect the Creator’s heart in daily life.
We share why creating is holy work: not lofty or abstract, but grounded in meals, memories, and rhythms that steady a family. You’ll hear a personal story of growing up without stability, then choosing to craft the home that once felt out of reach. We talk candidly about calling, capacity, and how mindless consumption erodes both. The turning point? Setting bold boundaries, including a full year off social media, using YouTube only for how‑to needs, and reclaiming attention from the constant scroll.
Practical steps thread through every moment: starting a nightly Scripture time, building small anchors that calm the chaos, and picking one concrete thing to create each week. We unpack how discipline protects what matters, how order makes room for real rest, and why presence beats performance every time. If you’ve felt distracted, behind, or quietly hungry for a more purposeful rhythm, this conversation offers clarity, compassion, and a doable path forward.

Welcome And Theme: Create More
SPEAKER_00Hey moms, God bless you and welcome back. Welcome back to Restoration for Mom. I am so glad you made it here with me today. So I just wanted to talk about something that God has been dealing with me about. It's something simple but powerful, and uh it is to create more and consume less. In a world that constantly pulls our attention, drains our focus, and keeps us scrolling instead of building, God is calling us back to what matters. He's reminding us that creating is holy, that building a home, an atmosphere, a life of purpose reflects his heart as the creator. Today's episode is real talk. It's personal. It's about motherhood, distraction, discipline, and stepping, falling into the capacity God has given us as women. So if you feel stretched in, if you feel distracted, if you know there's more in you than what you've been giving, this episode is for you. Let's talk about creating peace, creating purpose, and creating lives that honor God. So let's get into it. Creating is a gift from God. There's something beautiful about taking nothing and turning it into something. It reflects God's character and it mirrors his heart. When we create a home, a safe, stable place for our family to grow, to love, and yes, even to argue, we're doing something holy. Not everyone grows up with that. I didn't. I didn't have that homey environment, that stability, that sense of belonging. And because of that, I spent a lot of time in the streets, chasing love in all the wrong places. I was looking for what I never had. But now as a woman, as a mom, I see the power of creating. When you cook a meal, you take all these little pieces and bring them together into something delicious for your family to enjoy. That's creation. That's purpose. That's ministry in your home. In the same way God created the heaven and the earth and called it good, when we create it is also good. God blesses our hands to build, to nurture, to be a blessing, just like his creation blesses us. The sun, the moon, the flowers, the trees, everything he made is for our enjoyment. And what a blessing that we get to create things for the enjoyment of our own families. You can create peace in your home. You can create an atmosphere. You can create comfort for your husband when he walks through those doors. You can create memories with your kids, going to the park, playing board games, watching a movie together. And you can create a clean home, warm meal, and a cozy bed that makes you excited to crawl in at night. These small acts have big impact. And I'll be real with you, this is an area I've struggled in. Distraction had been consuming me. Scrolling just to scroll, being bored even though as a stay at home mom there's always something to do. I was slacking on the house and skipping mills and letting things pile up to the next day. I knew my capacity and I knew I wasn't walking in it. God has had to check me. Oh yes. I felt him letting me know to create more and to consume less. So here I am, sharing my heart with you. I always feel like I have a word and I didn't want to use social media to share it. So I said, let me podcast. And I made a commitment, one full year off social media, no Facebook, no TikTok, or Instagram. I only use YouTube for how-to videos. But other than that, I had to be wise and purposeful with my time. I'm also making it a goal for us to read the Bible every night as a family. I feel God pulling me to know His Word and to spend time in His book of life. Time is too short to waste. Let's use our lives to create. Let's be a blessing to the people around us, and let's reflect the heart of the Creator. This is our calling. As we close today, I want to leave you with this reminder. You were created to build and not just consume. Your hands are blessed, your time is valuable, and your calling as a mom matters. This week I challenge you to choose one thing to create. And if you haven't already, make sure you follow the show so you don't miss what God is doing through this space. You can also leave a review. It helps this message reach more women who are ready to create and consume less. Thank you for spending this time with me and let's continue to reflect the heart of the Creator in everything we do. Until next time, create more and consume less. God bless.
