In this weeks podcast, there is a lively Q&A session with guest co-hosts Kimora and Kian who share their personal tastes and philosophies. The discussion begins with a nostalgic look at favorite childhood cartoons, highlighting specific titles like Voltron, Bugs Bunny, and Jem and the Holograms. Janice, Kimora and Kian debate the origins of anime and the moral lessons found in classic Saturday morning programming. Transitioning to a deeper topic, the group explores whether their personalities shift depending on their social environment. Lauren and Nikki gave their answers via voice notes! Janice, Kimora and Kian conclude that while they may adjust their energy or dial their intensity up and down, they strive to remain authentic and genuine in all interactions. The dialogue reflects a blend of pop culture appreciation and self-reflection on maintaining personal boundaries and character.

Enjoy!

SPEAKER_05

Hey everyone, welcome to the Voice Notes Podcast. I am Janice, your host, and with me are my co-hosts and besties, Lauren and Nikki. Each week, we bring you a relaxed chat with different takes on music, entertainment, fitness, and just all around life. So whether you're driving, you're at work, you're at the gym, or just lounging, let's get into it. This week I have two guests to help us with questions that we received from our listeners. So it's gonna be a QA episode. I have Kimura in the house. What up, Kimura? Hello. And I also have Kean. What up?

SPEAKER_01

I'm back.

SPEAKER_05

Yes. So we're gonna get into it. We're gonna get into our questions. But before we do, how are you guys doing today? Doing good. Good.

SPEAKER_01

It's hump day.

SPEAKER_05

It is hump day. Hump day. Remember the Gaigo commercial? He should bring that back, man.

SPEAKER_01

The camel.

SPEAKER_05

Yes, they should. They should bring it back. We are going to have a QA session today. So first I want to thank all the listeners who sent questions in. I have to say we got some really, really good questions. So we're gonna get started. So, Kimur, what's the first question you have?

SPEAKER_06

So the first one I have is uh if you could hang out with any cartoon character, who would it be and why?

SPEAKER_05

I think that question came from a younger person. Because who's who thinks cartoons well? I shouldn't say that because you're a big cartoon buff, right?

SPEAKER_01

I'm a big kid.

SPEAKER_05

You are a big kid. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Still watch my cartoons.

SPEAKER_05

Yes. Yes, I still do too. Yeah. What were some of your favorite cartoons?

SPEAKER_01

Oh man. Well, obviously, Spider-Man, right? The 1960 version. That's what I grew up with. But then I'm gonna start throwing out some anime. Um, that's what I said.

SPEAKER_05

Are you into anime?

SPEAKER_01

Well, back in the day we had anime. One was called G Force.

SPEAKER_05

Was that really anime?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, that's anime. Okay. Hello.

SPEAKER_05

All right, all right, all right, all right, listen. I'm not gonna debate. I'm not gonna debate. Okay, no, I'm looking it up. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

G Force, Voltron, that's all old school anime.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Original. OG.

SPEAKER_05

I remember Voltron.

SPEAKER_01

Of course.

SPEAKER_05

My brother had the toys.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Remember that.

SPEAKER_01

Man, it was just this one family member. I'm gonna call you out Kathy Armstead. I don't know why and how she got the Voltron toy, but bro, I tried to steal it so many times. I tried to steal that thing. I don't why would she have it? She's a girl.

SPEAKER_05

So, and man, we had G.I. Joes. We had cartoons. I mean, we had toys that were like.

SPEAKER_01

Man, she had the full Voltron, all five cats. I was hating hard, yo. I was hating hard. I was literally trying to steal that Voltron. I'm gonna have to ask her she's gonna be.

SPEAKER_06

I looked it up and it says it is G Force is the second American adaptation of the Japanese anime science. Oh, it's no adaptation of the Japanese anime science ninja team Gat Gatchaman?

SPEAKER_01

Gotcha man, yes. Gotcha man. It was called Battle of the Planets, but we called it G Force. That's what it was called, G Force. Okay, absolutely awesome. As a matter of fact, I have uh one of the what do they call it? The the the fun the fun goose?

unknown

I don't know.

SPEAKER_05

I'm not into anime like that, so I would not know. I don't know any anime.

SPEAKER_06

I mean, I I know like um cart like cartoons. I just I don't know the names. I only know Sailor Moon, and that's about it.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I have no idea. I'm not into an anime world.

SPEAKER_06

It's very popular in gym world too. Yeah, fungi.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, boy.

SPEAKER_06

No, funky. A lot of anime.

SPEAKER_01

Funko. That's what they're called.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, the Funko.

SPEAKER_01

So I have I have an actual Funko.

SPEAKER_05

Isn't it like the ones that have like the square heads? Yeah, Bob. Yeah, yeah, I have one of those. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I have a couple of them. Uh but one is of Ken, who is the leader of G Force. So I I was able to find him a Funko for him. So legit.

SPEAKER_05

Cool. Well, my cartoons back in the day, um, of course, as an 80s kid, there were a lot of cartoons that I was into. We had Care Bears, we had Strawberry Shortcake, we had the Jetsons, we had um the Flintstones. There were so many, and of course, Looney Tunes will forever, will forever remain in my heart. And Tom and Jerry. Yes, those are staples. Forever, those are all staples.

SPEAKER_06

Well, for me, it would be the Bratz squad. So the Bratz girls. Of course. You were heavily into the brats. So I would definitely be with them.

SPEAKER_05

You know, being that Looney Tunes was my favorite, and I always found um both Bugs Bunny and uh Yosemite Sam. I found them to be two of my favorites, but I also loved Long Longhorn. Um, I found them super hilarious.

SPEAKER_01

You mean Falkhorn?

SPEAKER_05

Falkhorn, yeah. Falkhorn. Yeah, he was just super hilarious. Is that uh the red one?

SPEAKER_01

That's the big rooster. Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_05

My God, what he was oh my god. So to answer the question, it'd have to be between Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam. Yosemite Sam because he used to just get angry for everything, and just Bugs Bunny because he was just he always had a smart response to something.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So it's good. I think it would be one of those. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

No, I'm going Hannah Barbera. All right, for you old school cats out there. I'm going Yuckmouth. Yuckmouth, look 'em up. Yuckmouth. Or uh Captain Caveman.

SPEAKER_05

I loved Captain Caveman. Captain. Captain Caveman.

SPEAKER_01

And what's crazy is Yuckmouth and Captain Caveman had all the shortties.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know why I don't remember.

SPEAKER_01

He always stayed with shorty. He stayed with Doms from baddies.

SPEAKER_00

He had baddies all around.

SPEAKER_01

How do you Yuckmouth and Captain Caveman do they do they shower for like a whole century and he got baddies around him?

SPEAKER_05

Do you know there's an American rapper actually called Yuckmouth? I just Googled. Yuckmouth, American rapper.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but the cartoons is Hannah Barbera. All right, another one I would hang with. I would hang with Josie and the Pussycats, though.

SPEAKER_05

Josie. Yeah, Josie.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. You guys know what's up.

SPEAKER_05

Yuckmouth. Now I remember. Yes. He was like a green phlegm.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yuckmouth.

SPEAKER_05

So the music. Google Lem? Yes. Was he actually phlegm?

SPEAKER_01

Yuckmouth was awesome.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yuckmouth and Captain Caveman. All handle Barbell.

SPEAKER_05

Young mouth. I think it's probably something with his tooth. Well, Yuck Mouth, yeah. Makes sense.

SPEAKER_01

And they all have baddies. I'm telling you. Go watch the cartoon. They always have baddies around them. When I say baddies, they had he had every complexion. White, black, Puerto Rican. He had them all around him. I don't understand it. I don't get it. But I wouldn't hang with him now.

SPEAKER_05

Listen, there are men out there, if I could just say, that are not the most handsome or attractive man, but they can pull in baddies. Because I'm gonna tell you, if you got a good sense of humor, yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Yuck Mouth. Yes.

SPEAKER_05

All right, listen, that was a good question. So hopefully we answered it.

SPEAKER_01

And now she let me correct. Yuck Mouth was actually uh a PSA in the 70s. It was um, it wasn't Hannah Barbera. It was one of those you gotta brush your teeth and you're gonna be able to do it.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, so that's why he was called Yuck Mouth. Okay, yeah, yeah. Literally, he looks like a piece of fun.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. So did ours. No, it didn't.

SPEAKER_05

What? We had He-Man Oh what lesson, wait a minute. What lesson can you get from He-Man?

SPEAKER_01

What? You gotta watch the cartoon again. After every show, they always told you like situations that happen in the cartoon and what not to do. Okay. And then G.I. Joe, you know what they used to say after G.I. Joe.

SPEAKER_07

What?

SPEAKER_01

Now I know. And knowing is half the battle. Okay. G.I. Joe.

SPEAKER_05

But 90s, like so when these kids were growing up, their cartoons were fantastic too. I mean, from Rugrats to Johnny Bravo.

SPEAKER_01

They didn't teach you nothing, though. We had lessons. They taught us lessons. We had lessons.

SPEAKER_06

It was more so in like the live action shows. So like the Hannah Montana's the Oh, yeah. Like it was more like that. Like where they had lessons that, you know. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Lessons of life.

SPEAKER_06

Of life.

SPEAKER_05

Did you watch it? In school. Have you watched it yet? The Hannah Montana? I haven't yet.

SPEAKER_06

No, I've only seen clips. And I I heard her um new song that was called like Younger, Younger Me or something like that. I was like, that is so nice. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. All right.

SPEAKER_03

We're gonna hear from Lauren Gem and the holograms. I have to hang out with Gem and the Holograms. Not the reboot either. We're talking Gem and the Holograms with Synergy, Jerrica, The Misfits from the 80s, when the cartoon was on at random times and you never really got the full set of cartoon, and you had to like hope that you caught it on Saturday morning. Gem and the holograms, hands down, I was not a Barbie girl. I had like two Barbies ever. But the Gem and the Holograms. Okay. The earrings, the fact that Jerica became gem, and she had the computer synergy, and then she had all the cool outfits, and they played like the synth, and her friends had the red hair and the purple hair and the blue hair. Like I that was like the that oh my goodness, that should have been a foreshadowing of things to occur in my life because from the diversity of her band to the fact that Jerica ran an orphanage home for kids who lost their parents because Jerica and her sister lost their parents in an um plane crash. You remember that you guys oh my goodness, Gem and the Holograms, most definitely. The original, no reboots. We gotta go 1980s here, guys. 1980s.

SPEAKER_05

Alright. Well, that was a good first question. Kean, do you have one? Another one from our listeners?

SPEAKER_01

I do.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, what is it?

SPEAKER_01

Let me find it. Hold on. Alright, the question is how much does your personality change when you're around different people?

SPEAKER_04

Let Nikki answer this question. I don't think or believe that my personality changes when I'm around different people. I'm still always myself. I'm always real, genuine. I have no tolerance for someone that's fake or phony and putting on air. So I don't do that myself. So I'm I'm always I'm always myself. I really strive to always be nice and kind and friendly, with a smile on my face, be very welcoming, inviting, have a good, positive attitude, I nice position. I'm always but I do believe that there's a time and a place for everything. Meaning that there are friends, of course, that I'm definitely closer to life and experiences with and more open with. So maybe anyone other than I might not hear that thing, type of relationship or not, you or that type of um friendship with them. Yeah, of course I'm gonna be selective in my choice of conversations and topics with them. I might not hear my personality. Because I'm still myself, even if I'm not very close to someone, or I do not particularly care for that person. There's actually a very short list of people that I do not like anybody that really I really do try to people. I can't find people that I can't. My time, my faith, my energy. Even as an extrovert that I can talk to you and talk to anybody, and as the outgoing person that I am. I have my boundaries too, so I definitely control that narrative as much as possible. Of course, there's gonna be times when you're around people that you don't care for or you don't like. That's just life and adulting and how and how things work. So however, I address and I adapt to that circumstance and situation while still being my nice pleasant self, just to make sure that I don't match that energy or vibe.

SPEAKER_05

Alright, now we're gonna hear from Lauren. We're gonna hear Lauren's perspective.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. My personality does not change. Fundamentally, I am who I am. I will dial up my personality and dial down my personality depending on where I am and what I'm doing, if that makes sense. So there's things I find are ghost, okay. But we have lived in a few different areas. Depending on who we are with, the topic of conversations will shift a lot. Not we're not talking materialism, we're not talking anything like that, we're just talking about um hobbies, trips, things along those lines, and there are different like levels of my personality that I will dial up and dial down, and I'm gonna leave it at that.

SPEAKER_05

Alright, Kian, now give us your perspective.

SPEAKER_01

Listen, I don't change. I don't care if I'm around stars, whoever it is, the top of the the top of the echelon, you know, entertainers, or to, you know, my man at McDonald's taking my order. Doesn't matter.

SPEAKER_05

That's that's a tough one for me because I think it all depends on how I'm feeling at the moment. Because my personality can change if I'm in the room with someone who is just flat out idiotic. My personality can change a little bit. I also can change a little bit when you have Debbie Downers all around and negative people. Like your personality can change. I should say me, I'm speaking for myself. My personality can change a little bit because I'm like, okay, I get it. Life, I I get it. Yes, life is hard. We are lifing out here. But at the same time, if that's the only energy you're gonna bring to the room, my personality can change.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

The only time my personality will not change is if I'm in a room and there's individuals that I don't necessarily get along with, like I'm not gonna let them kill my vibe or kill my energy. I'm just gonna be who I am and just accept the room for what it is. Yeah, you know, because again, no one's perfect, but at the same time, not everyone gets along with everybody. I'm not gonna break bread with everybody, not everyone has the same energy, we're all different. Um, so I think in that sense, he's phony, she's fake.

SPEAKER_01

That's the types of people. Hey, hey, what? Let's go!

SPEAKER_06

That's that's a good song. That is a good song.

SPEAKER_07

Yes, that is.

SPEAKER_06

I'm I'm pretty much the same. I I don't I don't change. You just gotta read read the room.

SPEAKER_05

Right.

SPEAKER_06

And that's if it's not, and if it's not, um if there are people who are down or who are oh my god.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.

SPEAKER_05

Alright, that's it. I don't have licensing. You need to pause it.

SPEAKER_06

Oh my gosh, that's hilarious. The YouTube, the strike.

SPEAKER_05

But uh, so yeah, so I I really think it depends. You know, they always say, you know, they say don't let people change who you are, be real, be all the and yes, you can be. But sometimes there's times that just people just can't, they can rub you a little bit the wrong way and your personality can change, but then you could easily rip it back. Yeah. Just leave. And that's the thing. If I can't, if I don't feel the vibe, I don't feel the energy, then just all of a sudden I have a leave.

SPEAKER_06

Don't answer the text. I have a cough. Ghostem. Gotta go. Goodbye. Exactly.

SPEAKER_05

All right.

SPEAKER_01

So we got another question.

SPEAKER_05

We do?

SPEAKER_01

We do.

SPEAKER_05

All right, what is it?

SPEAKER_01

If you were a flavor of ice cream, what would you be?

SPEAKER_05

That has to be from someone who really loves ice cream, asking that question. But that's a good question. You want to answer it, Kimara? A peanut butter vanilla ice cream. That's what I was gonna say. A swirl. Come on, we love Reese's peanut butter.

SPEAKER_01

Butterican.

SPEAKER_05

No, I was not going to say Butter Rican. Although that's what they used to say about me. Okay. Or caramelo. Caramelo.

SPEAKER_07

All right, what would yours be?

SPEAKER_01

I can hear Kristen Lee now. Coco Chocolate.

SPEAKER_07

Coco Chocolate.

SPEAKER_05

Let's back up because I need to I need to give a little bit of context to the listeners about this.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_05

During the summer, we had an event at the home and She was sauced. I was a little sauced, and we're all sitting around the fire pit. And I everyone in my circle knows it. They know it. I get happy. I get super happy, right? So we're there around the fire pit, and I start like just complimenting my husband, Kid, and I start saying that he's my bonbon de chocolate. That's what it is. Bonbong de chocolate. Oh my god. Bon boom. He was close.

SPEAKER_00

Bombon chocolate.

SPEAKER_01

I think Chris is gonna have something to say about that. You're gonna have to have him on the podcast. Chris is gonna have something to say about that. I would love to hear Chris on this.

SPEAKER_06

And then I gotta have Chris. Dan and uh Ralphie were getting on you about uh where you were from in New York. And you were like, no, I'm from here. And they're like, what? No, you're from here. That was a fun night.

SPEAKER_01

That's funny. Yeah, that was funny.

SPEAKER_05

But to be clear, it's boom boom the chocolate. Oh, okay. Now boom boom.

SPEAKER_01

All right. Now boom boom. All right. So what's your ice cream? What's the ice cream?

SPEAKER_05

No, I said it's it's a Reese's peanut butter cup. Okay. Reese's peanut butter. And that's only because it's my favorite our favorite, like Reese's peanut butter. Okay. And that's a good combo. Peanut butter, chocolate, vanilla, that's it. That is it.

SPEAKER_06

All right. Or cookies and green. If I had to go for the second one. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

That's a good one. Alright, so Gabriel's found is gonna have to cut me a check because I'm shouting them out. So I want to check.

SPEAKER_06

It's a flavor of ice cream.

SPEAKER_01

I know. They do have flavors. What?

SPEAKER_06

Like a 1999 cookie or something.

SPEAKER_01

You gotta party like it's 1999.

SPEAKER_06

That's a concoction of flavors.

SPEAKER_01

That is true. That's a concoction. Yes. Alright. I would have to say my original, original flavors we're talking. It's chocolate.

SPEAKER_07

Okay. Chocolate. It's original. Bomb de chocolate.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god. Bom de chocolate. All right. I got another question.

SPEAKER_05

Kimura, well, wait a minute, because I split up the questions. Okay. You guys are co cults. You know? Come on. Kimura, you have another question from our listeners.

SPEAKER_06

Yes. The other one was um, what is the one book or movie you wish you could experience for the first time again?

SPEAKER_01

The one book or movie you could experience for the first time.

SPEAKER_05

That's a good question. Um I'm sure those who listen, we we have a lot of friends who are just into books and movies and music, which is great. Um I can't respond about a book because I'm not an avid book reader. So I can't respond about a book. Um one of my favorite movies is The Count of Monte Cristo with uh what's his name? He was in the he was the actor in the um Passion of the Christ. What was his name?

SPEAKER_01

Google it.

SPEAKER_05

Because there's two, I believe there's two versions of the case.

SPEAKER_01

That's another check. Google, you gotta cut me a check.

SPEAKER_05

Google it's like Google is oh I will.

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna write them.

SPEAKER_05

Google is life. Jim Cavazel? Cavazel, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Something like that. Yeah, Cavazel.

SPEAKER_05

It's C-A B as and Victor, I e Z E L. Caviziel.

SPEAKER_01

Caviziel, something like that. Something like that.

SPEAKER_05

Anyway, he played in the Count of Monte Cristo.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, amazing.

SPEAKER_05

Love it, it is one of my favorite movies of all time. I would love to see it in the theaters because when I first it was on DVD.

SPEAKER_01

DVD. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I would love to experience that in the theaters for the first time.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that would be awesome. I would love to be able to do that.

SPEAKER_05

If you have not watched The Count of Monte Cristo, I recommend it.

SPEAKER_01

So for those who haven't seen it, his son, the one who plays his son, is Henry Cavill, who was obviously Superman at one point. But you know what?

SPEAKER_05

I'm glad. You brought that up because every week we have a segment that's called Hot Dad of the Week. And I'm going to pick him for Hot Dad of the Week. That's because he sure is Superman. You're looking at me like what are you talking about?

SPEAKER_01

But of the century.

SPEAKER_02

I knew he was gonna say that.

SPEAKER_01

I want to give a shout out to Britt. Alright, you know what I'm gonna say. Because everyone comes from my loins. Everyone sprouts from my loins.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, okay. I want Lauren to answer that question. Voice Mamo. Here we go.

SPEAKER_07

Well, oh man.

SPEAKER_03

This is a good one. Uh book or movie. I'm gonna be honest, Baz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet, 1996, and I'm gonna tell you why. We're watching a documentary about Vogue in the 90s. It's phenomenal. It's 2024. And it went for the whole thing. And they have a section there about Baz Luhrman and Catherine Martin, who I've loved since I was 16 years old. And seeing Romie and Juliet for the first time in movie theater, I had never seen anything like that. Until this day, it is absolutely exquisite from beginning to end. And even if you hate Shakespeare, you don't understand Shakespeare, which I tell my students all the time the university likes Shakespeare, love Shakespeare, leave Shakespeare. I don't know. You cannot deny Shakespeare's influence on the English language. Linguists have absolutely positively studied this. The word or that Shakespeare brought into the English language, it's on par with you know the French invasion and rule of uh, you know, without my centuries in front of me, like the 11th, 12th century, putting language into language, so putting it into English. So Shakespeare drops Romeo and Juliet. I am Big Pentameter, whether you believe that he wrote it or not. I believe that Queen Elizabeth probably wrote it, and that's the whole story for the day. I think if I could go back and put that in a bottle, that feeling of watching that movie for the first time with Romeo and Juliet, which is one of my favorite Shakespearean plays. I know it's cheesy and it's Romeo and Juliet, but there's just so much about it that's just so genius and iconic. And much like the Great Gadsby, I feel like you gotta read the Great Gadsby every five years because it is an observation on humans, being humans. It's not an easy, it's not an easy read in the sense you don't feel good when you're done, but you do think about humans and humanity, and I feel the same thing with Romeo and Juliet. I think there's a lot of themes in Romeo and Juliet that translate incredibly relevantly to 2026. And my assignment is go watch Baz Lerman's Romeo and Juliet.

SPEAKER_05

And how about Nikki? Let's get Nick. Let's get Nick's response.

SPEAKER_04

I read a lot. Um, reading is my second favorite hobby to do after sleeping, as everyone who knows me knows. So I don't really read reread books because I read all the time, and my TBR list, TV read list, is incredibly, incredibly long. You can never have uh a list that is too much or too much is on there, or you can never have too many books because that's just not possible. But yeah, I never very I never really reread books. Sometimes I do only if the movie is coming out for a book that I read, but it's been a while since I read the book. So if there's a lot of if there's a few years in between the time that I read the book and then the movie came out regarding or based on the book, then sometimes I will reread the book. A movie that I want to experience for the first time again. I guess I would just have to say my favorite movie, remember the title. Everyone knows how I feel about Dinzel Washington. There's just no words for how I feel about Dinzel Washington. Um but anytime it's on, I will watch it. I have it on VHS, I have it recorded on my DVR. I literally, I would I would watch it all the time. Alright, how about you, Ken?

SPEAKER_01

So of course I'm a Star Wars geek, so I would love to see the original Empire back in the theaters, even though they re-released it back in the 90s. And I cried. Yes. I cried. Yes. It's a that's a trip movie.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That was huge. Empire Strikes Backs will forever be um yeah, the movie. So I would love to see that back in the theaters.

SPEAKER_05

Um did they ever remake that to make it high def like um like they re-released it in the nineties.

SPEAKER_01

However, uh in 2027, it'll be the 50th, wow, and 75th or 50th anniversary of the original Star Wars. That's crazy because it came out in 1977, so they're gonna re-release the original version.

SPEAKER_06

Not the edited or digital.

SPEAKER_01

He's gonna they're gonna re-release the original, original, which is gonna be crazy. And then also um Star Wars Celebration is back in LA because it was in Japan last year. So hopefully I'll I'll be there for that.

SPEAKER_05

That's awesome. That's cool. Yeah, so Empire Strikes Back for You.

SPEAKER_01

Empire Strikes Back for sure.

SPEAKER_05

Count of Monte Cristo for me. What about you, Kimur?

SPEAKER_06

Um, probably I would want to experience probably seeing 10 things I hate about you in the theater. Right. Like if I was there late '99. Listen, I was born yet. I was almost love that.

SPEAKER_05

I would love that. And I would love to experience that with you because I know it's one of your favorite movies ever. And I know you love Heath Ledger. This week, I was, you know, on my Instagram and going through uh reels, and there was one that came up where he was on, I believe, either the red carpet or whatever, and a fan actually screamed so loud. Oh, and he kissed her.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, that's a popular one. Yeah, yeah. I was like, how hilarious. He painted. That's awesome.

SPEAKER_01

He kissed her.

SPEAKER_06

Did you paint? No, I don't think she did. I think she just freaked out. Yeah, she freaked out when she realized it was meeting ledger.

SPEAKER_05

I think it was the cutest thing. It was the first time I ever saw that clip. Really? Yeah, yeah. So I thought it was.

SPEAKER_01

Listen, outside of outside of Jack Nicholas, he is the best joker alive.

SPEAKER_05

Jack Nicholson.

SPEAKER_01

No, no, no. I said outside of Jack Nicholson. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, you said Jack Nichols. So I was saying Jack Nicholson.

SPEAKER_01

No, I said Nicholson.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Nicholson.

SPEAKER_06

Jack Nicholson. Yeah, he was great.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, outside of him.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

He fledger played the best joker.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. He would have killed it now, still, if he was here.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

So many others. Uh, who was the other one that passed? Um, she wasn't clueless. Uh the one with the redhead? The curly hair? I don't remember. Um Google it. Google. Britney Murphy.

SPEAKER_05

Britney Murphy. Yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I can see that, but I shot. I thought you were going to say uh I didn't even know she.

SPEAKER_05

Um did she really? Wasn't she a Nickelodeon or something too? No, no. I had no idea she did that. Oh, wow.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I thought you would say Endgame. I thought you were saying that. That would be good, too. Yeah, of course. I would experience that again. Endgame was was amazing. That was amazing.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. I don't follow Marvel like that. I mean, I will see the movie, of course. Um, but Endgame was the one that they all come back to come back together. Yeah. Not the one that they disappeared into the air.

SPEAKER_01

The final, the final one. The final one. That was crazy.

SPEAKER_05

Speaking of Marvel, yeah. Spider-Man is coming out.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, the trailer dropped. Yes.

SPEAKER_05

I'm not really like excited about it.

SPEAKER_06

No, I don't think it's it's not like the trailer's not pulling me.

SPEAKER_01

No, that's because you're not an original Spider-Man. Okay. You only know this Spider-Man of this era.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_01

They're bringing basically the real Spider-Man fans, the one who who who's, you know, from Sam Raimi and and and the original comic book, he is now fully Spider-Man. Meaning there is no Avengers. There is no He's on his own. He's on his own. Yeah. And that's original Spider-Man.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So it leads up to this point where he is, nobody knows him.

SPEAKER_07

Right.

SPEAKER_01

He's just a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

SPEAKER_07

Right.

SPEAKER_01

So this is going to be all about him. And it ain't going to be about Tony Stark. And no, this is going to be all about him and how he handles being alone. How about it?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, because Zendaya doesn't have to know who he is.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, this is going to be crazy. Plus, you got you got Daredevil. You got uh Punisher, you got The Hulk in this one. What? Oh, in this Spider-Man? Yes.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, I didn't know that.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it better be good because the last few haven't. The last few haven't what? What are you talking about?

SPEAKER_06

Been good. The last Marvel movies that happened.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, that's Marvel. That's the garbage they put out. I'm talking about now, though. This is rebooting. They're rebooting the whole franchise. Better okay.

SPEAKER_05

Well, it's a new generation, I would think.

SPEAKER_01

They're rebooting the whole franchise. Oh, don't forget, they actually have the rights now to X-Men, to all of that. Now it's all at Disney. So they're rebooting the whole thing. So more to come.

SPEAKER_05

Cool. Very good.

SPEAKER_01

But obviously, looking forward to He-Man as well. That's just gonna be crazy.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Looks amazing. It's just gonna be crazy.

SPEAKER_05

I feel like you've gotta know who He-Man was to kind of be excited about.

SPEAKER_01

Listen, our generation.

SPEAKER_05

But that's what I'm saying. Our generation knows He-Man. But this newer generation will probably be something new for them.

SPEAKER_01

It'll be something new, and more than likely, it's gonna reboot.

SPEAKER_06

They just probably know like the art of it.

SPEAKER_01

I think seeing pictures memes, but they don't know. If they have parents who grew up during that era, the kids know it. Because we listen, we're still waiting for Thundercats. If they was to ever do a Thundercats, oh my god. That would be crazy. Yeah, that'd be crazy. And Henry Cavill, he's act they're actually making Voltron. So he's actually playing the league for Voltron. So yeah, so all that they know.

SPEAKER_05

All right, what's the next question?

SPEAKER_01

All right, next question is would you rather have more time or more money?

SPEAKER_05

What good is money if you don't have time? I mean, I think I think it's more important to have time than money. Because when you have time, you have the ability to make more money. That is true. You build that bank, you get that paper because you have time. Whereas if you cut back time, you don't have enough time to build on that. So here a person's giving you money, you can build on that, but you're limited in time to build on it. So you're kind of working with what you have, you don't have the ability to grow it.

SPEAKER_01

That's smart. I like that. Yeah, yeah. Look at me, dropping science.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I'll take your answer.

SPEAKER_01

Drop in science. You're still her answer on the test. Yeah. One of those students looking looking over somebody's shoulder, like, oh yeah. Yo, she circled. A let me erase mine and put it in A.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're a cheater.

SPEAKER_07

That was good. Thank you.

SPEAKER_01

She's honest, yo. She was like, Yeah, we'll definitely cheat on the SATs. Hey.

SPEAKER_05

I just, yeah, I think time is more valuable. Time is more important.

SPEAKER_01

Number one karaoke song. What is it?

SPEAKER_05

That's hard because I have like top five. Pink, so what? I have the Wilson Phillips song.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Why do you lock yourself up in these chains?

SPEAKER_01

What's yours, Keymour?

SPEAKER_05

Wait, I didn't finish. Oh, excuse me. I said top five.

SPEAKER_01

Dang, it was like number one. Um, Wilson Phillips.

SPEAKER_05

Wilson Phillips. Okay. Alanis Morissette.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. I know which one it is.

SPEAKER_05

Which one? You wanna know? Yes. Yes, of course. I want you to know. But also another great Alanis Marset song. Ironic. Ironic. Those are only two ironics. I love that one too.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_05

And it's a tie because I I would love to do a Madonna song, but I also love Taylor um Taylor Spoon. Taylor. What? Boom.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, all you Taylor fans out there, I know there's a bunch of guys.

SPEAKER_06

No, we love Taylor Swift. We love Taylor Swift. We don't want them for us. No. Because this pod will definitely be canceled.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, literally.

SPEAKER_06

No, I'm talking about the Swifties. They don't play.

SPEAKER_05

They don't play. Well, guess what Swifties? Guess what Swifties?

SPEAKER_01

Guess what Swifties?

SPEAKER_05

It's just like the Barbies, like the ones that are Nicki Minaj. I don't know about that anymore.

SPEAKER_01

I know it's right.

SPEAKER_05

I've heard. No, there's no more.

SPEAKER_07

There is no more. I've heard. But anyway.

SPEAKER_05

But moving on. Madonna Loves. That would be number five. Oh, five. Because I did four songs. Not Bon Jovi. So I'm Torrance. It's between three songs, right? It's either a Madonna song, Into the Groove, or Bon Jovi's Living on a Prayer. Or oh my god, it escaped my mind. It's a tag on menopause brain. Um Dan. Yeah, whatever. Um said the word. Oh my god, what was my thirst for?

SPEAKER_01

Free beer. Drinks all around.

SPEAKER_05

He started that.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, drinks all around.

SPEAKER_05

It would be Madonna's Into the Groove. Oh, Bon Jovi's Living on a Prayer, and Taylor Day, and tell it to my heart. These are all like big popular 80s songs that I was heavily into. But I would love to do Prince. Let's go crazy. There's just so many.

SPEAKER_01

So the question was, what's your number one?

SPEAKER_05

I know. I can't I can't answer that. I cannot just give one answer.

SPEAKER_01

That was like TNT's inside the NBA.

SPEAKER_05

Sorry. I cannot.

SPEAKER_01

Where Charles Barkley interrupted Shaq and Shaq was like, it's supposed to be one, two, three, not one, two, back to one. Oh, Google that. Google that Shaq one, two, three, not one, two, back to one. You will cry. You will you will cry. You will laugh so hard. It will be snop bubbles.

SPEAKER_06

That's the best. That's the best love casting actor. That's the best. Like highlight. Like they're the best. The best. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So this is another thing that I have. No, I ain't gonna say it because somebody's gonna steal it and I'm gonna be pissed if I see it on TV or something like that.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, so then don't say it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm not gonna say it.

SPEAKER_05

Alright, so moving on.

SPEAKER_01

My number one karaoke song.

SPEAKER_05

I don't do it enough.

SPEAKER_06

I don't really have one. Kimura hasn't done karaoke. Have you done karaoke? I've done it like with Becca. Okay. Oh, okay. At her house, but I don't really have a a song. Yeah. No. Hmm. Sorry.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

Boom.

SPEAKER_05

Well, if you but wait, if you had a choice. Let's just say it's not that you're going to, but if you had a choice.

SPEAKER_06

Probably pocket full of sunshine. Natasha Benningfield.

SPEAKER_05

That was a great 90s song. It was 90s or 2000s?

SPEAKER_06

No, 2000. 2000s. Yeah, like 2008, 9.

SPEAKER_01

Well, how did it go?

SPEAKER_05

I got a pocket, got a pocket full of sunshine.

SPEAKER_01

I was looking for her to sing it.

SPEAKER_05

She's not going to sing it. She ain't gonna fall for that. Nope. Skip. Okay, go ahead.

SPEAKER_01

So my first song right now that I start off with, and somebody some folks had the privilege of watching me sing it.

SPEAKER_00

Tearing up my heart when I'm with you. Tearing on the butt, I feel it.

SPEAKER_07

No matter what I do, I feel the pain with no without you.

SPEAKER_05

That is a good listen, I'm gonna give you a credit. That is a good song.

SPEAKER_01

So I'm walking in Walkingwood, shop right somewhere. And they do the song.

SPEAKER_05

It is a very catchy song. This song is happy.

SPEAKER_01

It started bobbing me while I'm picking up food.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, it's a good catchy.

SPEAKER_06

You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_05

They have other ones that are very good.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_05

That's a good song. I need to make a request. No, no, you can remove that song from your lips. That song is so long, long, nothing else matters. You crazy.

SPEAKER_06

They have the long time. You crazy. Too long. You cracked it.

SPEAKER_00

You already won that. Gotta be a good thing. You did it. You cracked me off. You know how many crowds love that song? You know how many people that came up to me crying on my shoulder, talking about I went through this and that you did that song. You crazy? You get out of here. If you're in hold up, I'm in New York. New York. Everyone's got a ball. And she could have daddy hill where you at. One chest hair day where you at. I'm telling you right now, you gotta act out every week.

SPEAKER_01

That's gonna be there. I do this song, a bunch of dudes. In New York, we out in the village somewhere, somewhere in New York. We were Spanish black dudes.

SPEAKER_05

Listen, we were at Planet Rose. We're in the Bronx Brooklyn.

SPEAKER_01

Great category.

SPEAKER_05

I walk in.

SPEAKER_01

I'm singing the song already. I'm already in it. And Spanish dude comes up behind me and was like, yo, we're gonna rock it together. I'm like, let's do it. We both sing it right there on the spot.

SPEAKER_05

It's too crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Very long. It ain't long.

SPEAKER_05

The next time you request that song. Let's see how long that song is. The next time I put a karaoke night together, if you request that song, I will pay the DJ 20 bucks not, not, to have you do that song.

SPEAKER_01

You crazy.

SPEAKER_05

It's too long and it's depressing. You have all these people who are doing great karaoke songs, and then it's this.

SPEAKER_06

It is six minutes and 28 seconds.

SPEAKER_05

That's what I'm saying. Listen, it's a great song. Shout out. We love Metallica, but it's not a karaoke song. This is a great song to be like with a nice glass of bourbon, whiskey, chilling, dimmed lights, and just you know, reflect.

SPEAKER_01

You crazy. Yes. You know how many people come up to me afterwards is like, yo, you are like my hero.

SPEAKER_04

That would be one person.

SPEAKER_01

No, that's many.

SPEAKER_04

Don't recall that.

SPEAKER_01

That's many. Don't forget who I rocked with, Yup Mouth and Captain Cave, man. They always had baddies around them. Um, I don't know what that has to do with anything. Okay, yeah, I don't know where you were going.

SPEAKER_05

I don't know where you were going with that. But okay.

SPEAKER_01

All I know is song is amazing. I always get love for that. Well, it's all good.
