In today's episode - Janice, Lauren and Nikki go back to discuss highlights from the entertainment industry and the Oscars. Janice, Lauren and Nikki praise Michael B. Jordan for his talent and humility, specifically discussing his performances in projects like Creed and the historically layered film Sinners. They explore the importance of historical literacy in understanding modern cinema, noting how themes of the Jim Crow South can be lost on uninformed audiences. The discussion shifts to the Tony Awards, where they defend Pink as a hosting choice while sharing personal anecdotes about seeing Zendaya and Tom Holland at a theater production in London. Ultimately, the source serves as a candid commentary on celebrity culture, the depth of Black history in film, and the duo's personal media recommendations.

Hey everyone, welcome to the Voice Notes Podcast. I am Janice, your host, and with me are my co-hosts and besties, Lauren and Nikki. Each week, we bring you a relaxed chat with different takes on music, entertainment, fitness, and just all around life. So whether you're driving, you're at work, you're at the gym, or just lounging, let's get into it. If I could go back to the Oscars. So, like the last time we met, um, the Oscars were about to be in the middle. So we haven't had a chance to talk about the Oscars. It was amazing. It was really cool. But I want to talk about Michael B. Jordan. Oh. Oh, he's good. Because Michael B. Jordan, I don't know if you saw the video of where he went to, I think it was In N Out. Yes! Wasn't it cool? Could you imagine? Michael Jordan. Michael B. Jordan? He just walked in with his Oscar. Yes. And he said, he told the hair enough to have a burger. Exactly. I was so proud of him. And I really loved his speech too, how he included all the ones that won before him, you know, even Halle Berry. Yeah. Because he was winning for Best Actor, you know, and she won for best actress, but it was just really pointing. Yeah. It really was. So gracious and well spoken. Yeah, he really was. Yeah. From Jersey, you know. Is it really Jersey? He's a Jersey boy. Oh my god, look this up. I did not know. I don't know. I gotta go, but definitely Jersey. Oh, yeah, maybe no arms. Yeah, one of the performance when he went to one of the performing arts high schools in Jersey. Um, I mean, he's he's been a class act talent since the wire. He was on the wire years ago. He was one of the kids on the wire, and then he was in Friday Night Lights. But Creed? Yes, he was. Oh yeah, he was fantastic. Oh my goodness, fantastic. He was fantastic in Creed. Did you ever watch Friday Night Lights? You just don't watch it. I don't think I've watched Friday Night Lights. He was fantastic. But he created his mom and dad. Yeah, like his mom was his date. Mom is his date. Yeah, that was so cool. Like Leonardo DiCaprio. And also he was in um a really good movie, uh Fruitvale Station. Did you see that? Yeah, Fruitvale Station. That was uh Ryan Kugler. It was the same um Ryan Kugler. Yeah, yeah. So he um I read I read up on Sinners, and it's a book. Uh no, I read it. Well, no, I read like uh Newark. He's from Newark in New York. Yeah. Fruitville Station is a book. I believe I'm very sure Fruitville, if I remember correctly. I think that's a I'm gonna look it up. Yeah, he attended Newark Arts uh High School. Here's another confession I have. Oh yeah, of course. Um I I didn't know the background of Sinners, the movie. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

But Evan broke it down for me. Yeah. And he's like, you know what the vampires met in that movie? And I'm like, No. No. What did they mean? They were the white people. Oh yeah. They were the colonists who pretty much raped black people. Oh, that's what they did. Yeah. So they were fighting against them. Yeah. Oh, okay. And he played Twin Brothers, right? Smoke and Stack. Smoke and Stack. Is that what their name? Smoke Stack. Smoke and Stack. And it was so historically, contextually stunning. Yeah. Stunning. Sure. Like the recreation of the South. The storyline. I mean, Brian Coogler always is very methodical with the historical stuff. So um because I I had to read about it. I I had to know. And exactly to Evan's point, there is like a really famous, like they were saying, like, I was watching some of the clips of it, and it was like they open the door and there's a part where the way he says to him, like, you clan to the to the other people, which is really interesting because you you are led to understand and believe exactly what has happened in the what had happened in the South, what continues to happen in the South. It's really well done. Really, really well done. If you don't know your history though, you are going to miss it. And I think it's getting weird. It's gonna get lost. Oh, gotcha. Because the a it's gonna get lost. You gotta know that. The average person does not know their like history, or even even like what uh like The Watchmen was out a few years ago. The Watchmen had a sub-story about um Black Wall Street, which was burned to the ground in the early part of the century. Um orchestration and propaganda against the African-American community at the time. So there was that, but if you don't know your history, that will be lost. So that's the thing with the movie, is because there's such a drop-off in Americans knowing history of the United States, it could be missed in that respect. And then people will take it that it's like a like a sci-fi vampire thing happening. Oh, that was my confession. I missed it. I missed it too. I am not a historian like that, but I didn't know much about the movie because I from the trailer, I just was not interested. All I said was like Oh my god, it's vampires. Did they show vampires in the trailer? No, they didn't. They didn't show the vampires in the trailer. No, it still was not interested. Because people were seeing it. Oh, okay. That's why I started reading about it because I was like, wait a second. But now that it's explained, it makes sense. I still don't think I'm gonna watch it. So I will say that that's the only thing about it is like the more you read about it, there is a vampire aspect to it. And Evan's point is exactly right. That that's exactly what deep dive. Yeah, and as as I was reading about it, I was like, well, this is this is genius. Genius! Exactly. Except for the fact that people are going to miss it because they're gonna look at it as a sci-fi thing of the entire movie. Because there is a incredibly also too, Dan and I were talking about movies in general are being made now because movie creators know that oftentimes we watch a movie on our phone. Like we're we watch a movie and we're on our phone doing something. So uh movie creators are trying to make movies that hold our attention with multiple storylines and imagery happening. So sometimes you'll watch a movie and you'll be like, wow, that felt like four movies in one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's a way to keep you engaged, yeah. But um, yeah, it was it's definitely worth a you know read through. There's a sub-story, um, even for Smoke and Sack because they come back to I think they're in they're in um Mississippi, I think Mississippi. But they come back after having had left, and the one actually um has had a relationship or marriage to a Yoruba woman, which is very cool because she was a Yoruba, which is one of the tribes that would have been enslaved and brought to the United States. So there's that relationship. Um they had left and went to Chicago to work for the mob, which was super interesting because that would have been contextually very true. You would have left the deep south to go be in Chicago and be free. Yeah, yeah. But you know, the the jobs available were limited still, but you could run for the mafia. Yeah. So they talked about that. And then the other relationship with Haley Seinfeld was interesting too because she was passing for white. Yeah, he did shout her out when she was at home uh because she's uh pregnant. Yeah, but he had the baby already. I do have a hard time though with actresses who play uh races that are not there. So in the movie, uh well, in the in the con the the bio, the bio on it, she's supposed to be somebody that has a black parent at some point, but they taught her to pass for white because she talks about it in the movie, which also is very true in history. Like if you have a child through rape or slave owners, and you hoped for a child that could pass for white. And she does talk about that. But that's do you remember that movie? Uh was it a pillow talk? No, which one was that? Pillow talk was um maybe not pillow talk. I gotta think of the right name. Um, but it was about a young girl, she was uh passed off as uh um asbian white. Um history, very real thing. Yeah, actually. Sinners was in um Mississippi, Mississippi, yeah. Clarksdale. Yeah, and like Brian Kugler, like I mean, I see VS Sunday morning, had a whole thing with Michael B. Jordan. That's he was interviewed because you know I do my repository. Oh no, definitely not Pillow Talk. Different stuff. Um different. And um the creation of a lot of things. It was unfortunately, I think it's gonna go over a lot of people's heads unless you know your history. Because they didn't get that unless you know. If you know history, then you'll be like, oh, okay, image of it. Imitation of life. Okay, yes. That's a super famous movie. That's a super famous movie. Yeah. That's a fantastic movie. Light skinned black girl who rejects her mom to live as a white woman in the 1950s? 1959. Yeah, 59. Yep, yep. Wow. Yeah, but yeah, their performance on the Oscar. Their performance was great. Amazing. It was really, really good. Fantastic. And they brought the ballerina at the end to because of Timothy Chalamet's uh comments about opera and also Belsoga ballet. How about that movie? Mindy not winning one Oscar. Thank you. And Mindy Copeland was because I think she's retired now, she was the prima ballerina of the New York ballet. Correct. She came in retirement to do that. Yeah, she doesn't. She was the first woman of color to be the prima ballerina. Yeah. And they brought her out. And I mean, and again, see the movie, don't see the movie, you're completely up to you with whatever you choose to do in life. But if you go into the context of the history of what Kugu did, there's enough articles. You don't have to watch it. There's enough articles on it and analysis of it. Yep. And the musical number that they did on um the Oscars was from the movie. Like that was like a recreation. Obviously, Mindy Culpen coming out and shaboozing some of that was different. That was extra. That was extra, but it was a way to highlight the talent and the skill and everything he created. It was nominated for a lot of stuff. It was like 18, 18 awards or something. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I'm very happy he won that award. Yeah, me too. Very good. I was happy for Best Actress. I love her. Um, and Hamlet was a really sad movie. I have not watched that, but I'm going to. It was because that's um a Shakespeare. Isn't it part of the Shakespeare Hamlet? Is it Hamlet? Yeah, basically. It's Hamlet. But it's for the the baby, that she had the baby or something like that. Um there she um the son died. Yeah, yeah. Exactly it. I gotta watch it. But they say it's excellent. Jesse Buckley's amazing. She didn't have no words for her. Jesse Buckley's incredible. I have no words for her. Did you ever see the other daughter scene in there that you will? I mean she won though. Jesse Buckley won. Yeah, Jesse was a big thing. She won everything. Golden Globe sack. Yeah, yeah. They get British. Yeah. She won everything. She swept them because she absolutely deserved it. There's this one scene, it is a gut-wrenching wail after she does after the sun died. I mean, everyone knows everyone knows the sun dies, but uh so it's not like a spoiler. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But um, she's incredible. Okay, yeah, you gotta watch it. It's really sad. It's a very sad movie that I watch it. Yeah, very sad movie. Oh, I gotta be on a day that I feel sad. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. You will cry. That's the only time I will watch sad movies. It's gonna be in the right the right mindset. I have a bad mental state. It's a heavy movie. It's a heavy watch. Yeah, it's a heavy watch. Yeah. It's like Steel Magnolius for me. We've watched Steel Magnolius. Oh, yeah. I can only watch that movie when I'm down because that movie is a tear. Oh, it cheers! Every time I see it. Sally Field's a great thing. Uh yes. Uh no. With the Libby. Love the Lippy Jacob. Yes. I cannot recognise Beaches is the number one. Beaches. Beeches look solid. Oh my god. Oh yes. That was so good. Yeah, the Oscars were. The Oscars were good. The Oscars were good. Yeah. And then let's circle back on that. Next award show. What is it? Oh my goodness. And as always, somebody has something to say. Because it pink. Because she's not on, she's not on Broadway. Oh my god. Do you have any umbrella? Do you have but she's an artist? Do you need to be on Broadway? Well, this guy isn't a musician and he needs to beat the music awards. I mean, doesn't sing anything. Not the most subtle. He's not a good actor. He is a good actor. Listen, number one, Pink, you go get him girl. You girl. You go girl. That Willow is a Broadway kid now. Yeah, she's a theater. He has grown up to be such a beautiful girl. Yeah, J Mom. Yeah. I think it's gonna, I think it's gonna be great. I can't wait for her opening number. She better be flying around. Two things. It's gonna be a choice. It's because beautiful. And she just recently had the Great Gassby. Remember, I showed you the uh I showed you guys the clip. She came out. Her little footage coming out. She's like, I've been on there now. Yes. I can host that one for all the people that were saying something about it. That's why I mentioned it. Oh man. She they moved. So I my understanding is that the whole family moved to New York now because Willow is a theater kid. And Willow organically became a theater kid because she has camp and all these different things. And Pink has been talking about it very openly for the last few years. Um, because I do love how she is a mom and I love how she moms. Yeah, kids go everywhere, husband goes everywhere, the whole thing. My favorite was when they were getting separated or divorced, and then she went online. She was like, Guess what? I just found out. Yeah. I'm getting divorced. I'm getting divorced. And she was like, No, like you know, so but they did move the whole crew to New York City because Willow is now a kid. So she was like, We're all going. Love it. And so then she had she had hosted Kelly Clarkson's show. Love love. Brought the kids on. So good. JMo's making the Hollywood French trip. Yes. And the thought is projection possibly is that Kelly Clarkson, you know, she's gonna be like leaving the show. Leaving her show, yeah. That Pink may take over as the host. Oh wow. Which would be great. I'd watch that. So Kelly Clarkson is moving on. Yeah. Yeah. Um because she wants to be on board with her kids after the father dies. The father died. That was weird. That was really weird. She wasn't a nice person, though. You ever read that? No, he wasn't nice. Yeah, he was not nice. I did a deep dive on him. Absolutely. It wasn't good.

Who's the one on channel nine?

SPEAKER_00

A tall Sherry Shepherd. Sherry, yeah. She took over for Wendy. She's got she took over for Wendy. Oh, she didn't know. She knows she's season ending. It's just not. It's not, she's not gonna keep stay on. It was never the same after Wendy left. No, I know you were not a couple of years. Did you watch her? I watch her occasionally. Yeah, I didn't watch any of it. I didn't watch Wendy either, so I loved Wendy every day. I watched Wendy every day. That's every day. And during the pandemic? Yes. Oh, she's on all time. Wendy. I I never really watched uh talk shows. I used to listen to Wendy since she was on B. And hot 97. No, I remember. I used to listen to her back then. Remember when Angie Martinez fought her on the air? Absolutely. Angie Martinez has a podcast. Fantastic. Just by herself? Yes. Okay. What she normally talks about? She just brings artists on. Oh, okay. Oh, I love it. And it's fantastic. But you know who's my number one podcast right now that I love? Besides us? Besides us. The voice notes podcast. Number one. But Joe and Jada. Fat Joe and Jada. Really? God. You've got Jada. Fat Joe Jadakus. Oh, really? Yes. You have got to watch them because they are live. They're on video. So right now they're on Netflix. They got a net. So first they started off on the gram. Okay. You know, just having their own podcast like this, whatever video. YouTube. Now they're on Netflix. Really? Watch. All right, Joe and Jadakus. All right. Joe and Jadakiss. Wow. They're so funny. And they drop an episode every week. Every week. Every week. I love it. Joe and Jadakus. You've got to watch them. Yeah. Just go on Netflix. It sounds like a lot of fun. Just like just because it's all hip hop. So maybe that's what it's all about hip-hop. So it's just, you've got to watch them. You've got to watch them. I'm like, I forgot about it. And then we're like, like um, like Mandami said, Jada kidding. Jada. I was like, Mzami, go. I'm like, are you watching an interview? And then are you watching interview with Mary Mandami? He's like, well, he's talking about the scaffolding and he's tuning. And I was like, I was like, he's gonna suit on all the scaffolding. Yes. Oh my god. All right, Joe and Jane, I'm gonna check it out. You've gotta definitely rep. Thanks for the rep. But nothing beats the voice notes podcasts. Absolutely. Tune in here every week. That's okay. Every week. We hear, we hear. Videos coming soon. That's right. We're not there yet, but it's gonna be soon. But we are we are very excited for the Tonies and for Pink to host. Absolutely. Girl, you're watching. Yeah, and you know what? It's a holiday. Listen, Trevor hosts the hosts Honey's. Um, oh my god, the Grammys. The Grammy's six years ago. And he was an amazing host. He doesn't sing, he's not single. I mean, he might have gotten a Grammy for one of his audiobooks comedy albums. Okay. But I mean, Jimmy Kimmel has hosted something. Come on now. Come on, it has nothing to do with that. So why are they getting on pink? So what? Well, you know, you know. So great songs. Like so much. Just letter letter thing. Yes. She's gonna do it anyway. She's gonna do great anyway. Oh, she's gonna kill us. I hope she does fly around ready to say. I hope so too. Yeah, she had a harness. Yes, those would be some tickets to get. Yeah. Can you get tickets to the Tony's? Can you get tickets to the Tony's? I don't know. I wouldn't be okay there. I would act a fool. Oh, that's a good one. Yeah, I would be that person. I would be that person. Yeah, I would be that person. For sure. Yeah. So when I was in London, we went to see Romeo and Juliet on the show. Oh, how was that? That's your favorite, right? It's my favorite Shakespearean play. Um with Sadie Sink. She was Juliet from Redhead from Stranger Things. Oh beautiful, stunning. And um Noah Jupe. And Noah Jupe is one of the kids from um Noah Jupe. He sounds familiar. Quiet Place. But wait a minute. Wasn't he there? That was Sten? So I'll tell you two. I saw your circle. So we were there. We had the show on Thursday, Thursday night. We went Thursday night, Thursday night. We sat down. It sold out the whole thing. The theaters are a little bit smaller than New York, but just as like the lights were coming out, it's a completely different production. The door opens and in walks. You Zendaya cuts such an incredible profile. And they're so gorgeous. That all of a sudden you just look. And I love her short hair now. I love her with short hair. As soon as she walked in, and there's Tom with her, and then he's he's adorable. So cute. And he's carrying like her like shawl, and then he's like so like gentlemanly with her, and like helping him to see. And then they were with two friends, they were five rows in front of us, and the whole room was like, Oh my god, it's Zendaya. Like everybody was like, It's Tom and Zendaya. I love it. So they were very gracious, they never detracted from the show, nothing. And then intermission. So the Romeo and Juliet production, you cannot leave to go to the bathroom. If you leave, you can't come back in. It's like super serious because they do a lot of like uh flashes of light and a lot of like um sliding doors effects where like this happened and it stops and it goes back to what really happened. It's it's very, very good stripped down production, kind of like Othello, where there was no real sets. It just was like black and white with Denzel. Yeah, exactly. With Denzel, exactly. They are killing it, killing it. So then intermission. And there's just there's so much dialogue, so much dialogue. You are so much dialed. You're just fascinated. Yeah, the interaction is incredible. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So I would have to intermission comes. Glad you got to see it. And like right as intermission comes, they just got up and like went out the door real quickly to like a side door. They came back in after intermission, and then at the end they stayed for Curtain and they clapped, and they because um Sadie is in the new Spider-Man and he's they're in. Which with they're both in, so it was cute, and then one of the other characters in Roman Juliet is from Marvel, the Marvel verse. It's a character that likes so there must be like a duality until six degrees of separation, right? Like they're going to see their friends. But they were totally there. We were like excellent, excellent show, excellent show, and uh done really well. So Thomas and Diane. And you saw Phantom, and we saw Phantom. And Phantom was my favorite. Her favorite. Oh my goodness! An incredible production. Yeah. The theater experience is much different in London. It's like they're much more different. It's like a different I've always wanted to one day we'll get there. You went to West End. Do you remember theater in West End? No, uh we were gonna do Hamilton, but it wasn't there yet. Yeah, it was just yeah, we were so devastated. One day we went to Stonehenge, and he was at Stonehenge the next day with the entire crew of people. It was like but Hamilton's still on, Lay Muse is on still at the West End? Lay Muse is it in London? Because it's not here anymore. No, it's coming back to New York. I heard it's from Radio City. Yep, coming to Radio City. Oh, I would love to see that. Yeah, yeah. So one thing I've never seen. That's Kim's favorite, too. Yeah. Oh, you never saw Law. I've always wanted to, but then it went off. I would love to see it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So that's the one you probably saw the most, right? Yeah. Yeah. And Phantom is the one I saw the most. Anything new on Broadway? Like what would be nominated at the Tony's? So Death of the Salesman is on right now with Roy McCalf and uh probably uh um no, not just in time. That was last year, right? With uh Darren, uh with Bobby Darren? That was last year. That was last year, right? Maybe Masquerade. I don't know if Masquerade is eligible. Oh, I don't know if it's eligible or not because it's not really on Broadway, right? It was good. I lost my mind. Yeah, you were. Becca kept looking at me like, close your mouth, Nikki. I was just like And the Phantom is right he touches you. Do you like Phantom of the Opera? I do. Well, you know, it's very it's dark, so anything like dark like that. I love it. I watched it so long ago. Oh my god. I went to Broadway. I saw it on Broadway. Masquerade is so interactive. You're like, you know, Christine and the Phantom are singing like right in front of you. I danced with one of the dancers in Masquerade. Yeah. Because it's right here in fact. They interact and they talk to you and they touch you. Yeah. They took Lee's Art Store, which was like a multi-level art store, and it was it was closed. And they did a $25 million renovation of the store, and they turned it into the Paris Opera House, like the catacombs of the Opera House. And from the time that you go in, candle gothic red. You can only wear black, white, or silver. It was. You have to wear a mask. Yep. If you don't bring one, they'll give you jammed cell phones, no cell phones, lockdowns. It keeps getting extended because it's so good. We have got to go. Let's do it. We have to go. We have got to go. Well, I've gone three times. Okay, so let's do it. And here's my thing. I um we love Broadway. I um appreciate the Phantom. I appreciate Phantom. Um, it's not my favorite, while it is hers. Yeah and other people in my life, it is their heart song. Like it's their show. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. So when I first got invited, I was didn't know what to do with it. This is the one I couldn't go to because it was when I came back from my trip and I was sick. Right. So this is the one Becca that's the one she had invited me, but I couldn't make it that way. Because you can take my ticket. Yes. So this was like back in January, and I was like, yeah, you know what? Like Becca was trying to explain to me what it is because I had been reading about it. Six revolving casts. Yeah. So you can have, and and they're every single one is phenomenal. And the phantom that we had, he was so cute. So wait, so like he's like they're that close? Literally. They stripped down the show and they turned it into an interactive show. So from the second you get there and your phones get checked and everything else. Did we send you a clip? No. Okay, I'm gonna send you the Instagram page. Yeah, you have to see it. Because you'll be able you'll be able to be able to see it. You're going into all these different scenes rooms and scenes. Like all I ask of you when at the graveyard. Oh, Amanda's sobbing. And then the Phantom like shows up behind you and he's like brushes you off. He does. Oh my god. They whisper, they'll like whisper to you. Oh like everything. It's like we've got it too. They renovated the store to turn into this whole immersive experience. They use the escalators, they use the doorways change, they use everything. There's candles everywhere. And then they write the little notes of the audience. Yep. I got one of the one of the times when I had the bar. Our friend Lillian got one. Yeah. Yeah. Ellie got one. Mia got one. Ellie got one. So they're like definitely have taken the show and turned it into an interactive situation. So the other side of it, the business side of it, the theater, this is possibly where theater is going. Because what's happening on Broadway right now is when a new show hits, or let's say they bring back Death of a Salesman or something like that, which is like iconic, like Arthur Miller. Oh yeah. But to get people in the seats, famous people have to be in the show. So um this is a very real thing. Like, and Carrie Kuhn just did an interview, CBS Sunday morning, and she was talking about how she can only the show she's in that she's headlining. She goes, I can do this because of the Gilded Age. Because I Otis because now people know who I am. So they'll come see Carrie Coon headline this show. And that's one thing with Broadway that that is like become a little bit symptomatic, except now for Masquerade. So Masquerade, everybody that's in Masquerade is Broadway people, so we know who they are, but the average person may not, right? But the buzz is that they've stripped down the show so much that they put you into it. My brain was like we were moved. And I told her I was like, I was crying two of the three times I was crying. That's how moving it is. Yeah. And it's it's so orchestral and done so well, and like you the passion and you understand more about his backstory. And Angelo Webber was able to incorporate some from the movie and also bring in, I think, songs that he originally wanted in the original production but couldn't. So he's actually been able to like infuse this world. And it is people it's sold out. I want to do this. It's brilliant. Brilliant. It's fascinating. We have that to do it. It's so worth it. It's so worth it. I've always wanted to have a masquerade party, but it's always been shot down. Oh well, yeah, I know. Yeah. Now you have to be able to do it. But if I I think if I had the right crowd and the right people, like we could do it. I would have it here, everything. I would have it right here. My favorite. You can't be invited. No, that's right. That's right. Not everything is for everyone. That's right. So that's right. And it's not mandatory. Exactly. It's voluntary. Bye-bye. Bye-bye. I would say that if that's where theater is going, let's buckle up buttercups. Because we were trying to figure out what shows could be done interactively. Right. Yeah. The shows on um now that's uh nominated Beaches, The Lost Boys. Um The Lost Boys is on Broadway. The Lost Boys is on Broadway. It's a new musical. Um my friend Kim went to go see it the other. She's like it was she loved it. It's good. She liked it. Based on the movie? Yeah, based on the movie. Yeah. Um, and then they also have uh uh revivals can also be nominated. So Mama Mia is on back again, ragtime, the Rocky Horror Show. That's coming. Um chess. That was the one with uh Leah Michelle. Yeah, I heard that was very good. Yep. Okay. Uh what was that? They actually, but they wants to see that. I do. Cats? Absolutely. Cats has been since the 80s. That was the biggest thing. I remember I used to walk down New York and used to see the cat eye. Winter Garden Theater. Yeah. Winter Garden. No doesn't. Did you hear what Andrew Lloyd Webber said about the Cat's movie? That it was Did he say it was terrible? Or was it working ever? I put the clip on my Instagram story. You can see it. I've been screaming. And he was like, and the interviewer was like, Well, you didn't like it. He's like, I said it was one of the words, like one of the work of the dinner do. Like, yeah. How much time do we have? How much time do we have? But it was coming up with the when is the Tony's? Yeah. What day? It is a holiday. It's in my calendar. Hold on. It is first Sunday in June, June. June 7th. Yes. Okay. Exciting. Tony. I've never really sat down and watched the full Tony's. But I will because she's hosting this. Oh, yeah. Cynthia was amazing last year. She was incredible. Cynthia. It's like her opening. I saw her opening. Oh, she did the opening. She was really good. Yeah. And even my girl from um Hamilton was really good too. Arianna DeBose. The year before she was good. So they set her up. Yeah, James Corden was really good when he did it. So I'm looking forward to peaks and for us to discuss it. All right. Great. That'd be great. Fantastic. Yeah. So we got this week, after much conversation and demand, we're gonna go and deliberation. Deliberation and Google searches. Thank you, Gemini. We are nominating Hot Dag of the Week. Okay. Hello. Hot Dad of the Week is John Brenthal. So John Brenthal is my vote. I love him. I think he is aces in my book. He's about to be in a lot of good stuff. Yeah, yes. He's gonna be in the new Spider-Man. He's Punisher in Spider-Man. So he's also dad of three. Dad of three? And his I write three? We said uh three kids. Three kids. Three kids. And his wife's a nurse. Yeah. Been married a while. Married a long time. He's like that guy. Yes, exactly. Great actor. Um the first time I saw him was in the movie Snitch with The Rock. Yes. Janice and I saw that together. Yep. That was a million years ago. I know, right? A million years ago. And he rescues Pick Bulls. Oh that even like brings him up even farther on the bar of hot dad. Like super hot dad. He's gonna be a Punisher in the Spider-Man movie. I knew he's getting a movie. Guess where he uh where he uh made a television debut. What show? SVU. SVU. That's see. I knew you've seen a um criminal intent. Criminal intent. I knew I'd seen him somewhere, so what's that? Yes, I I agree to your hot dad of the week, Lauren. Yes, all right. I have to agree. And he looks like he's gonna be a great Punisher. He's a really nice guy. So the Pun the The Punisher is a movie that's out already. Yeah, so I think the Punisher movie is coming out, but he's going to be Punisher in the new Spider-Man that's coming out. So I'm gonna talk about the Spider-Man over the Punisher because I don't know what the Punisher movie is gonna be related. Yeah, but he is Punisher in the new Spider-Man. Yeah, okay. So Punisher Castle is a soldier who, after suffering the murder of his wife and children, becomes a lethal vigilante determined to take revenge and stop crimes. That's the Punisher. He's gorgeous. Oh, look at the outfit. Yeah, he's in great shape. Wow. And he's the one that I met in the city at um Thursday afternoon. Did you? Yeah. Wow. He's like, hmm. Okay. Alright, so here's another week of our weekly. Let me start that all the way up. Okay. Yes. Ooh. Yeah. And that's a wrap. Thank you so much for hanging out with us today.
