Dalelands - Episode 6 'The Lost Library of Lethchauntos'

The party has found the lost library and must choose how to make their way inside: stealth or battle. Once inside the countdown will begin on the search begins for The Nathlum, as our party aims to obtain it before Powell Niccam and whoever he's enlisted can find it first.

Thanks so much for joining us for episode six of our Dale Lands campaign. Last episode, we journeyed further through the forest of Corminthor as we discovered an owlbear nest with four eggs and a man running the show. A man owlbear. A man owlbear. Ike spoke to this owlbear and found out that his mate, Corchesa, was missing. So, over the next few hours, as they traveled further into the forest in search of the lost library of Lechantos, they found Cortesa, who was imprisoned by three criminal foresters and hunters named Otto, Abraham, and Jesse. A little play of some sort was put on as Joanna and Val put on that they were lost adventurers to gather some information from Otto, Abraham, and Jesse, but uh there was a bit of suspicion in their story. Ike then stepped forward and communicated with Gorcesa, letting her know that Avia had sent them and that she was safe with them. Ike then, with the help of Hodge, had this fake Albear step forward and intimidate these three men until they laid down their arms, cowered in fear, and let Corchesa go. After a bit of communication with them, Cortessa then, at the behest of Ike, shot from the forest and killed these three men. As the party journeyed forward, Cortessa made it back to her partner Avia and her four about to hatch eggs and children. The party journeyed forward towards this toward the library and found a nice comfy place to stay the night where Hodge grilled Joanna a bit on her religion.

So we begin uh about half a day's journey from where you know the library is as you wake up to the sound of nature, chirping of insects and birds, uh leaves blowing through as it is uh about to be in one day the summer solstice.

15. Um a 15 and a 22 for Orion uh tell you that uh there are multiple sets of footprints uh belonging to medium and small booted people. Orion recognizes the small boots to be goblinoid.

Um and you see ten odd sets of footprints. Hard to deduce exactly how many because there are so many f steps going on, but uh you see kind of ten-ish different sizes. Um, to what looks like to you, you can you can ascertain that this is a uh a cave that leads to a bear's den. Whoa. What the hell? Um but you can you can tell that this leads to the same kind of I guess you could call it a structure, but you can you can tell that this leads to the same indoor area. So it's just a secret entrance to the library. Kind of another entrance, yeah.

So this cave, this natural cave kind of leads into this hillside, and then obviously there's been some man-made uh thing that this the library of Lithonchos is obviously man-made uh and has been built in here and then obviously discovered by these goblins and likely uh a few more um Zenterem as well.

If we could hold but a moment, I can uh create an apparition that may uh open the door from a distance that could hide and ambush anyone that were to exit. Or the bear cave. But either way, opening the door may serve as a valuable destruction.

You all should study this one about what not to eat and what to eat in nature. But you do not see anything that mentions old elven gods or goddesses that may contain nothing about just elves in general. Uh no. Um just those.

I would say this book is written by a wizard of some kind, but this book has. I'm just glancing through it, really, at the moment, but like inspiration on constructs and golems and similacra and homunculus, animated objects, gorgons, all sorts of constructs, uh, illusions or otherwise, and it's a wizard sort of delving into, like, is this life? The things that I've created, like, they seem to have a will of their own. Questions about, you know, if I give an open-ended command, how will the golem, the construct, achieve that thing? If I ask it to pick a beautiful flower, what does it do? So, like, all these questions about the constructs that he's created of the spells that are relatively commonplace, where you usually give it the command of defend this town or pick this thing up, do these things for me. Like, what happens when you uh give it freedom? Do you have the spin chunk of the few? Yes, so this book is extremely important, and my eyes go wide when I find it. I don't feel it's the time, but you see me fawning over this book, and I I know right now we do not have the time to cover it in-game and out of game. But I am, yeah. This is probably the most uh serious you've ever seen Hodge when he finds this book.
